SIMPLE Writers Bullet Journal | 2019 Set Up

I’r also going to be giving you Guys a little recap, because I do bimonthly goals on this blog of how I Did on my goals for November and December, and what I am looking to do for January and February alright, so first thing I did when setting up my bullet Journal for 2019 was to make sure I had all the materials I wanted, and so I’m Just going to briefly list them here, and they will be in the description below as Well, if you want to check them out, but first of all, I love using the Sharpie Fine lighter pens that they are my absolute favorite and you’re going to see.

That they just write really well and really stick out on the page. And then my Favorite highlighters are the mild liner highlighters and you can see they come In a variety of colors – and I actually use them for most of my banners and Different things like that, so you’ll see what those look like. Then I have some Sticky notes that I wanted to get in sort of matching pastel colors to my Notebook a ruler and last of all my notebook, which I originally got from Barnes & Noble, but I did find on Amazon.

So if you’re looking to get something Like this, they have a bunch of different patterns. You can check that out again in The description below ok, so, let’s see what is inside my bullet journal, so First thing: we’re going to see it’s just a simple 2019 welcome, page I eventually want to put my word of the year here, which I’m still trying to Figure out, if you guys have any suggestions, let me know in the comments But one thing I do want to say, as we proceed, is I’m pretty minimalistic when It comes to and below journal I like it to be really clean.

Obviously I love Colors, but I keep it pretty simple and I also keep it simple so that it’s easy to Update and I don’t have to spend hours and hours on each spread. So if that Sounds good to you definitely keep reading, because I just make it really Simple and really clean and really easy to keep up throughout the year, then, as We go to the next page. You would usually see an index here because you’ll usually Have just different spreads like daily and weekly and monthly spreads sort of Interspersed with all these other kinds of spreads, but what I actually do is I Put all of those different spreads in the back, and I start from the back and Go forward so I’m going to show you this at the end, but what I like to keep is Just my planning pages, my like monthly, weekly yearly kind of pages, I have to be Getting sort of going straight through without other spreads sort of going in Between so you’ll see how that functions in a minute, but first of all I have my Future log, and so I just have it the different months – sort of set up with Just major events or holidays, so I can keep track of the year.

Also on these Pages I have little markers for just tracking my social media stuff’s on Instagram YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and my newsletter, and I just want to track Throughout each month, how many followers or subscribers I have for each social Media platform and then next I have my first monthly spread and so you’ll see Here that I have this first page, that is just the events of the particular month.

And what I also like to do is use this as like a Thanksgiving. This was supposed To say Thanksgiving but, like I thinks, giving our gratitude page And sort of highlight the major things that happen throughout the month, so for Example on Monday put that I hit 900 subs on YouTube. So thank you. Everybody So much for subscribing and helping me get to 900 subscribers so fun, but those Are the kind of things that I sort of put in here and Different events, like my dad’s 60th birthday and all that Jess, then over Here on this page, I sort of separate my goals into author and, like business Goals because I do some side business stuff, but then also personal goals and If you’ve been on my blog for a while, you’re, probably wondering hey, don’t you Do bimonthly goals – and I do I just forgot to create that page first So it actually comes a little bit later, so I’ll show you that afterwards, but I Also take those bimonthly goals and separate them into the monthly goals.

So That’s what this page is: you’ll also notice that we’re about halfway through The month and I haven’t checked off a bunch of things, but I usually wait to Sort of go through and check off these things until I’ve been through the whole Month I go back here and I do like a little review. The next thing I include In succession are just the week’s spreads and I sort of do daily stuff, Within each week, so at the beginning of the week I will put my author fiscals Slash personal goals, sort of up here and then progressively as it fills out.

I Will do Monday and then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday, it’s sort of Like whatever fits where so, I can do it progressively and I don’t have to like Waste space and then I just set up the next week – and you can see here again That I keep it super simple, I’m just using my highlighter to highlight the Banners and then I just use little circles instead of checkboxes. I also try To set my priorities so you’ll see here I have some little stars and I use those Stars to sort of mark the things that are top on my priority for either the Week or the day and to sort of say hey if I get nothing else done, if I get Those things done, then I’ve been a success today, so usually I’ll have about Two or three per day, and also if I don’t get to something I put a little line – With a little arrow, just telling me that I need to push it off to you, the next Day now, this next spread is my January February bimonthly goals and I wanted to Tell you guys what I did and what I didn’t do in November and December, but Before we get there, I did promise that I was going to show you what spreads I’m In the back here and so here again I have my index and then the following: Pages, I have different spreads so this spread.

I have spread ideas so, as I see Other bullet articles or get ideas. I sort of list ideas, Of spreads that I can do in the future and then the ones I’ve done so far are Like a writing and author calendar, so I wanted to sort of see the year at a Glance and see just different events that are happening that pertain to Authors or writers, and sort of either work my content around that or work. My Schedule around those things, the next few pages are for my author platform.

Mostly for content, brainstorming and planning – and it just makes it so much Easier for the rest of the year, so this first spread is my content. Brainstorming, Page and so obviously I’ve blocked a lot of stuff off because they don’t want to Give too much away, but I listed out a bunch of YouTube like article types that I Could do or topics I could do and then I also made a list of people. I’d love to Collab with this year and just general article ideas, there are like more specific Than these, and for any of you, all they’re tubers out there, if you’d, like Me to do a article that sort of lists out more of these kind of ideas, so that you Can get ideas? Definitely let me know – and I can do that.

The next page is a Content. Calendar for the year specifically for YouTube, but everything I do sort of Blogs and instagrams sort of revolves around what I do for YouTube. So I didn’t Want to give too much away again, but I did try to plan at least four ideas for Every month, so that’s what sort of penciled in in here and then I write Them in pen as I do them, the next spread is best of author to 2018, so this was Sort of part of my planning, where I sort of went back and looked at my top search.

Terms and presented readed and different things like that. To help me Plan for the new year, then, I am also a Christian and I very Much believe in the power of prayer, so I wanted to have a prayer request spread Here and then you guys saw this in a previous article, but I just made my General 2019 goals here I also did a spread about just my routines daily Weekly and monthly that pertain to author stuff and more author platform.

Stuff and then my last fret here is my TBR and log for the year, because one of My goals is definitely to read a whole more and so obviously I have a bunch of Other books that I want to read, but I just started off with a few and I’ve Already completed cinder this January, so that was a really good read and I’m Excited to sort of add to this list and keep reading as well sort of check them. Off as I go and sort of log how long it’s taken me to read as well.

Finally, as Promised I just wanted to give you guys a little recap. I do this to keep myself Accountable, but also to inspire you guys for what I got done in November in December and what I want to get done in January in February, And obviously this is from a different bullet journal, so you couldn’t just Ignore this is supposed to be for November and December of 2018 yeah. These Are the things I got done? I won NaNoWriMo.

I started working with my cps For my work in progress for draft, I wanted to read at least one book a month. I’r actually read for I wanted to post one YouTube article a week and I actually Checked this off, but there was one week that I didn’t cuz. It was just a little Crazy during the holidays, but for the most part I did that we hosted the Nanowrimo house Cup in the plotter life writers, Facebook group, which was so much Fun I released one newsletter each month and I also launched my author website.

Services what I didn’t get done, I didn’t get to prepare for betas that I wanted To in January, but I’ll give you an update over here in a second, I wanted to Hit 1000 subscribers by New Year’s on YouTube. I didn’t hit that, but, like I Said before I just passed 900, so I think maybe this month, maybe next month that Would be awesome, and I had certain Instagram, Twitter and Blog goals, but just with everything else, I wasn’t as consistent with that.

So I Definitely want to get better at that for this next round for this January and February, these are my goals, separated into categories so for writing. For January I want to finish rounds with my cps and then in February. I want to edit My draft, based on that feedback and prep it for betas, hopefully to start that in March, yes, I still want to make this then for reading. I want to read at least one Book a month and in here I will put the two books one for January, one for February here so I can log that then for author.

I want to do at least one article A week one live stream a month, and that includes my secret project with Bethany Which, hopefully, I will be telling you about soon Never so media stuff. I want to keep up with The plotter life Reuters Facebook group, we have some weekly threads going on to Help you guys plan as well and succeed in your right early goals and we want to Do one event over the next two months, I want to plan a year’s worth of content.

Which actually already did so? I should be checking that off. I want to figure Out batching routines, so maybe batching enough content for two months at a time. Ooh, that’s a big one. Then these were the other things that I didn’t do the last Two months that I just want to do at least one post on Instagram a week, but I Do stories like pretty much every day, Twitter, at least once a day, and I want To blog at least once a week with a Pinterest post, then for my website, Newsletter, I want to do one newsletter a month.

I want to revamp my for writers page, which actually I already did this and I Have a bunch of tools and a bunch of my articles actually categorized into Different helpful categories for you guys on my writers, page at author Brittany wink calm. If you want to check that out and then for other websites, I Want to create and launch two websites a month, so I just put blanks here for the Names of the authors I’m going to create websites for then I want to prep for the Second, author website bootcamp, because we just finished the last one at the end, Of December, so I’d love to do this again, maybe in March, but we’ll see if you are Interested in learning how to create an author website for yourself and want to Be in one of my boot camps, there is a waitlist and I’ll put the link on the Screen here and in the description below, if you want to be alerted about when the Next one is so you don’t miss it, alright, everybody, so that is my bullet.

Journal, that is how I set up everything for 2019. I would love to know in the Comments, if you do bullet journaling, are there any different things or different Spreads that you do and if you got inspired by this or you are just Starting out with your bullet journal, I would love to know what was helpful and What you’d like to see more of in my next bullet journal article, if you enjoyed This article, please give it a big thumbs up and if you’re not already consider Subscribing because we do lots of fun right early stuff, like this on my Blog all the time next week, I’m actually going to be giving you a Writing space and office tour.

So that’s going to be really fun. As we’ve been doing a lot more sort of goal, oriented stuff for the new year and Then I have a lot of really cool things plan. For the rest of the year so definitely make sure you subscribe and tune in next Week and until then happy writing.

How to Make Money as an UNPUBLISHED Writer | Side Hustle Ideas

Why a fairy fantasy novel and today I’m going to be sharing with you at the top three ways. I make an income to support my writing as an unpublished author and how you can, because of these side, hustle ideas that I’m about to share with you. I was able to step down from my day job back in August and become a full time writer currently making enough to supplement my husband’s income.

So I can work from home doing the things I love. If you want to hear more about my personal journey of how I became a full time writer in one year, I will link that article below and in the cards, but by the end of this article you will have a bunch of ideas about how you can Start making money as a writer whether you are currently unpublished like me, or if you’ve been looking for ways to supplement what you’ve been making from selling your books and if you find these ideas inspiring but you’d like more personal help from me about how to turn Your idea into a successful hustle definitely check out my patreon page as I love to help my patrons figure out, which idea is best for them and give them tips about how to create and market their write early income venture.

Now, if you’re excited to hear about these three side, hustle ideas go ahead and hit the like button on this article and let’s get into the tips. Firstly, what I’m not going to be talking about is selling novels, because chances are you’re reading this article, because you are working on something that is not ready to publish yet or you’re, making some money in selling your novels, but you’re not making the kind of money You hoped I’m also not going to tell you to go out and find an unrelated day, job, part-time or otherwise to support your writing, although this may be the best option to start out with, as you’re building your side business to eventually replace that income, the writers, I want to talk to today are the ones that want to create a side hustle that has to do with their writing, something that works hand in hand with it and builds their author platform, their influence, their readership, all at the same time and results in side Income now, but also helps sell their books more in the future.

If this describes you here are the top three ideas that I have successfully done myself. My first idea is to create a service or product for other writers or readers. When you go to start this kind of side business, the first things you want to ask yourself our what skills do I have and who would be my clientele? Well, if you’re, a writer, one of your skills is obviously writing and your target audience or clientele could be other writers once you’ve figured out your clientele.

The next questions you want to ask yourself are: what does my audience need or want most, and how can I use the skills I already have to help fill that need for me, I pulled my followers, my subscribers and any other writers. I knew and asked them what they struggled with most in their writer life. Then I took inventory of what my skills were and tried to find creative ways in which I could use those skills to help my target audience.

So I started out creating some free products for writers, like my series, Bible templates, that you can still get by signing up for my newsletter. But if you have any kind of templates or workbook, you think would be helpful to writers. You could just as easily sell that product, like many writers have, including my friend, Rebecca Kay Sampson. You create this product once, especially if it’s digital and then all you have to do is market it to your audience, offering discounts from time to time, sharing testimonials of people that have loved your product and suddenly you have income coming in.

The other option here is creating a service. For example, when I created my author website, I realized very quickly that my skill for creating websites was something that many other authors didn’t have. I also couldn’t find many others that specialized in making websites specifically for writers. So I also knew I wouldn’t have much competition. So after doing a bit more digging into what specific struggles my audience had with creating their author websites, I actually ended up coming up with three different services.

Either I could create a website for someone. I could teach them how to create it themselves through an online course or if they already had a website, but they didn’t love it or their things that they wanted to improve about it. I could offer a console call where I could give them tips about how to do just that. These offerings have been the bedrock of my income so far and since my clients love what I do and can’t wait to tell their friends, I barely have to market myself anymore, because I constantly have requests coming in.

I love the service option. Two because I get to know other writers network with them and help them along on their writing journey. To give you a few more examples, I know that my friend Mandy Lynn, has created the course author Tube Academy for those that want to their author, Tube blog and she also designs book covers. While my friend Beth Nia Quezada, has created book trailers for writers as well, I’ve also seen others offering editing and critique services like battaglia Lee or author coach services, like my friend Jade yung.

If you’d, like help figuring out what you’d like to offer and also creating a page where people can pay you for your services or products again, I definitely encourage you to join me on patreon and I would love to help you out. My second idea is to create an author, Tube blog for growing your author platform and influence. Creating an author youtube or author Tube blog, like I have, is a no-brainer sharing about my author journey and teaching others.

What I’m learning in the process here on YouTube has definitely been the number one thing that has launched and grown my author platform immensely. But did you know you could also make money as a youtuber? It’s definitely a long game. It takes a ton of time and endurance. Basically, you need at least a thousand subscribers, and at least four thousand hours of read time in a 12-month period to even be considered for YouTube’s partner program.

But after you are accepted into the program, YouTube will allow you to put ads either before, after or during your article, which brings in money for YouTube and allows YouTube to pay you if you make it to this point, not only have you massively grown your author Platform and potential readership, but you now have a library of articles in each article. You worked really hard to create once, but each one is now continually making you passive income, because those articles continue to get found and readed and YouTube is paying you for it again.

This option won’t work for everyone, and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. You really have to love doing it for a long time before you can get paid, but if you really enjoy it, it’s well worth it plus you get to be supported by your audience without them having to pay you a dime, they read and enjoy YouTube pays You just as a gauge I was able to reach a thousand subscribers in about eight months time and I’m super close to reaching 4,000 hours.

So I’m really hoping that I can start monetizing soon, but just so you know it does work. I do have a different YouTube blog unrelated to writing that I’ve grown to over thirteen thousand subscribers and I’ve been getting paid by YouTube for that blog for almost a year now – and it’s been pretty great – my income from YouTube definitely four months a month, but it Definitely makes it done and for those of you that want to start making money sooner rather than later, you could also still make money off your other Tube articles, if you’re using YouTube in a strategic way.

For instance, if you’ve created a product or service, you could use your author Tube blog in part to be advertising or talking about those products or services which could result in more people going to purchase whatever you’ve offered doing. This has definitely helped me, find more website clients for sure, or you could also check out affiliate programs like Amazon, affiliates or eventually get some of your articles sponsored by writerly related companies.

I don’t have time to talk about all these options in this article, but if you join us over on patreon, this is definitely something we could discuss further in either case. If you have an author, Tube blog or just starting one, I definitely suggest checking out my top ten tips, article for how to grow your author, tube blog, which I’ll link below and in the cards, and if you become a patron, I would love to help.

Give you tips and personal suggestions for your author, Tube blog and speaking of patreon. My third idea, surprise. Surprise, is to create a patreon page patreon.Com/lenguin. So if you’d like to see an example and the article I made all about it, you can check out the link that I’ve put in the description below. But I think my favorite thing about this platform is that you really get to know your fans or patrons at a much more personal level, and as long as they continue to be patrons month after month, you suddenly have a pretty dependable monthly income, which the previous Two options: I’ve told you about in this article have a harder time providing.

So I’m really curious, which of these options? Are you going to try or have you tried already got any other ideas you think we should know about? I would love to chat about all that in the comments below and again, if you’d, like some personal mentorship from me in any of these areas, I hope to see you in the patreon group soon, if you want to take advantage of more of the free content, I have here on my blog I’ve linked some of my favorite playlist down below and if you haven’t already, we make sure you hit that subscribe button and the Bell.

So you don’t miss anything new, much luck with all of your right early side, hustle adventures and until next week. Happy writing.

5 Things You Need To Know Before You Start Blogging or Vlogging

If you’re new here hello, my name is Monte Suggs, I am a writer and motivational hacker and what you will fly it on this blog are things about writing and personal vlogs and shopping and anything and everything to do with personal development growth. I love setting goals and talking about it and helping you to reach your own goals, and this blog is all in hopes to inspire you to go for your dreams.

So if that sounds good to you make sure you hit the subscribe button and that you also hit that little bell so that you get notified when I upload it. So you guys grab your favorite beverage coffee and let’s sit down and talk for just a few minutes about the things that you need to know about. If you are starting to work more on the internet, if you’re, starting to blog or if you’re starting to sell things on the online, I was blogging for 5 years.

Without doing any of these things – and I lost a lot of opportunities to make money and to just get out there and meet other people doing the same thing as I am as I was doing so get rid of you guys, because I’m about to show you The five things that you need to know about, if you’re, just starting out on the world wide web, let’s get started. Ok, you guys here we go so the very first thing that I recommend, if you are starting on the world wide web, doing anything regarding the public is that you create a landing page.

If you do not have a website, if you have a website even better, but I’m starting, let’s say from the beginning, if you were just starting out and all you have – are your social media sites, I recommend that you create a landing page or a web site, But I’m not going to get into the whole website thing, I’m just going to give you the basics of a landing page for a landing page. I recommend that you use MailChimp.

It is free. You can create landing pages with MailChimp, as you can see here, and you can create beautiful pages like you can see here in just a few minutes. So the next thing that you need to do is you need to create your email list right. That is so so important you guys when you are working with the public. It is important to start getting your own contacts, don’t just depend on Facebook or YouTube or Instagram or LinkedIn, because all these things can one day disappear, and then you have lost every single contact that you’ve made every single connection that you have made, but with an Email list – this is yours, it is priceless right, so you use MailChimp to create a landing page use MailChimp to create a to start.

Creating your email list, one of the best ways to start getting people to sign up to your email list, is to give something away for free. So whatever John Wright you’re in, I recommend that you let’s go here. I recommend that you use canva with canva. You can create all kinds of goodies to give away to your audience as an incentive for them to sign up to your email list. You can create anything that attracts them in your in your niche.

So if you’re, a writer, maybe you can do a checklist of things to do for like say, NaNoWriMo, that’s coming up. If you are in the cooking industry, you can do a recipe and tell them to to sign up to your email list to get the full recipe and maybe five more and you can create all these beautiful things with canva and canva is free, oh, and so Is MailChimp by the way, all free? So, as you can see here, I use canva for everything I create my quotes here with for Instagram, I create my trackers.

I create an outline anything that I want to give away to my audience. I created first in canva and then I lose load it onto my email program here with MailChimp and when someone signs up to my email list, they get a beautiful PDF. The next thing that I recommend that you do is that you sign up with the affiliate programs with Amazon or Target or any any of these big companies that you can sign up.

They pretty much. Let everybody sign up. I’ve never heard of anybody not being able to sign up, so I think you’re definitely a shoo-in, but what I mean by this four years for five years, I was blogging and I was recommending products and books for my audience to read and I never got a Penny for any of it when you join with the affiliate program with Amazon or Target, and you recommend a duck a product and they that person clicks on that link.

Let’s say you’re recommending a book and they click on the link and they buy that book. You get a commission for it, so don’t don’t don’t not do this, you guys it’s so important. Even every little penny counts as you’re growing in the industry. Okay. The next thing I recommend that you do is that you join Facebook groups, so many different Facebook groups, like you, can see here. I have author youtubers when I post a article on YouTube.

I can share it here. A little side note here, not every single group that you join, will let you post on their group, but a lot of them do so. For example, when I joined author youtubers, I can post my youtube articles here that I upload to YouTube and let them know hey, I just uploaded a article. I would love for you guys to check it out if you’re looking for this or that or whatever my topic may be another one here.

When I blog I can share my blog on this blog live on this other one. That’s called share your blog post and I don’t blog family getting noticed blog support group also see like power of thought. I can share it there I can share, and so my con aren’t so many Facebook groups that I had no idea that I could do this. You do this. Furthermore, you can post your books and your promotions on these other groups.

Kindle reading club. You can share it on these free, Kindle books, book marketing, free Kindles book, Kindle publishers when you’re running a promotion on your books. You can post it here and that’s more people that get to know about you and your book and people that are actually interested in either your topic or the kinds of books that you’re talking about or Kindle or whatever it is so yeah. You guys.

I hope that you found this helpful, like I said I blogged for so many years, without getting anything in return, so I didn’t want you guys to miss out on any of these opportunities. I wanted to give you guys a chance to know all the things that I didn’t know and I hope you get right on it. If you’re not doing it, maybe you already have your email list, but you’re not giving anything in returns, and maybe you can give canva a shot and try creating beautiful documents to give to your community.

And maybe if you do have an email list – and you already have a canva website that you use and that you give to you in products that you give back to your email subscribers. Maybe you haven’t signed up for the affiliate program and I definitely recommend that you do that because um, I think, if I’m not mistaken, if the timing is still right. If somebody clicks on your link today and let’s say you were promoting a book with Amazon, if they click on your link for 48 hours, if they go back to Amazon and they’re buy anything at all, it doesn’t even have to be the same book that they Clicked on you will get a commission for it.

Okay, so yes, you guys. That is all I have for you guys today. I hope you enjoyed this article leave me a comment below letting me know if you are going to try any of these things that you that I mentioned here on this article today and remember to subscribe and until next time stay safe.
