Branding Messaging – Session 3 SMU101: Intro to Branding Unit

People in general don’t care about what you want to be. They simply walk through life and perceive things they don’t perceive you or your brand in a certain way, because they’re being difficult, they’re doing it because they’re humans and that’s what people do just like people make impressions on other people, so do companies.

It’s very tempting to try to be everything to everyone. You might make some sales in the short run by doing that, but in the long run you sacrifice the impression your brand makes on the collective consciousness of your potential customer base, but don’t panic just yet? There are things you can do to plant the seeds for how you want an audience to perceive your brand. That’s where brands messaging comes in by the end of this lecture, you should be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of these two things.

The deeper understanding of what branding is all about and an understanding of how branding is the foundation for all commercial communication and marketing activity. In the second part, to this procession to lecture, we spent a significant amount of time covering the seven attributes that make a story and the six levels of meaning storytelling elements and levels of meaning have a direct impact on this lecture.

One of the first areas they have a direct correlation Jew is brand messaging continuity. Your brand messaging has to be congruent, in other words, the character of your brand, the personality of your brand, the protagonist, the bridge, the resolution, the attributes, the benefits, the value and the culture has to be consistent. In other words, these elements and levels of meaning have to have consistency without consistency, we saw the seeds of confusion in an audience’s mind and risk a negative impression of a brand brand message.

Consistency is an alignment of three factors who you are, who you say. You are and who an audience thinks you are in audiences, quite good at spotting gaps. So what’s an audience gap when companies say there’s something but act in a radically different way, for instance, a green company that gets caught illegally dumping waste. An example of this would be the Royal Caribbean cruise liner company, which got caught illegally dumping waste oil and hazardous chemicals in bays and along coastlines, in other words, an environment, environmentally sensitive and, in some cases protected areas.

Another example would be a reliable car model. That’s actually dangerous. The Toyota and General Motors scandals are classic examples of this. A last example would be a fair trade or ethical company that uses sweatshop labor. For instance, in 2007 the gap clothing company was caught using cheap child labor in India, which not only severely damaged the credibility of its ethical image. It prompted a fall in its stock market share price.

Your brand doesn’t even have to directly contradict it’s brown message to fall, afoul of your brand message itself and an audience’s perception of your brand. For instance, Walmart fell foul of public opinion when it was discovered that one of its suppliers use child labor and the manufacturing of goods for Walmart. In this instance, it was a Walmart. He used the child labor in the manufacturing of goods.

It was a supplier who provided goods to walmart. Nevertheless, Walmart’s reputation took a big hit, so it should come as no surprise that an audience perception gap can be incredibly harmful, make the relationship between who you are, who you say you are and how people perceive you as aligned and focused as possible. That’s what we mean by being brand congruent. We spent a little bit of time already talking about, what’s called the marketing mix and that’s where this particular slide comes into play all along the brand communication process, from concept to pitching marketing, to PR to social media.

To actually publishing contents, your message must be the same, or, to put it another way, the challenge that you’ll face is the perception that people will have of your brand. At the end of the day, perception is reality. One of the main things that we’re task but doing is to create the best perception through our brand messages, and by this I mean you want to do everything you can to create the best impression possible.

The seven storytelling elements and the six levels of meaning, in addition to continuity, will deliver your message about your brand’s values and its benefits this alongside ensuring there are no gaps, and your audience’s perception of your brand goes a long way towards creating the best possible impression. So, whenever the public hears your name or sees your product or sees your logo, they get a great image in their head and they create a great Association.

We try to create the best possible impression and branding just like we do in any facet of life to build credibility and Trust which are the building blocks to building relationships, and today it’s all about building relationships with the public. Failure to connect with your audience leads to well failure we’re faced with some pretty big challenges. We operate in a time of exchangeable products, the rise of social media, clutter, immature and rather brand skeptic audiences.

So for us, it’s all about finding new ways to get people engaged again in products, services and businesses, as well as advertising in a course in brands. This is a subject that will that the short article in the next slide will actually cover. It underlines the importance of why there’s been really annoying by this messages, but why they just don’t work and why strategic branded stories actually do.

Oh, Oh ha. Oh, Oh, integrated, brand communications for ibc for short, is a holistic communication strategy that integrates all of your audience. Contact activities to manage your most precious asset, your brand IBC integrates activities such as public relations, advertising Investor Relations, interactive media, social media reputation, management or internal communications. To manage a brand, it is central to the idea of managing a brand to optimize its value and communicate its benefits.

The next section of this lecture will go into how to approach and develop an IBC for now. Let me give you an overview. The starting place for any integrated brand communications is the business, not marketing or communications. More specifically, IBC starts with your business strategy, will be going into business strategy and a lot more depth in the brand management sessions. For now, you just need to be aware that I BC begins and ends with understanding the role of a brand within the businesses or organizations business model and determining how our brands can help grow and sustain that business or service.

However, this first means that we must view a brand as a financial asset and identify the key drivers of a brand’s value so that we can influence, control and measure these values through an integrated communications effort. Ibc brings strategy, finance and marketing communications together to manage the brand to optimize its value. It serves as a catalyst for uniting executive, financial and marketing management.

An ultimate ultimately helps to remove internal barriers that may have prevented an integrated communications effort. The first step in this process is start with understanding the role of brand in your business. We spend some time in the first two lectures discussing how brand is defined as a relationship that secures future earnings by developing means and a relationship with an audience. Given this, the starting point for any IBC program involves analyzing the role that brand plays or can play and securing greater loyalty across your business.

This step involves challenging long-held assumptions regarding the key drivers of any business. These assumptions can be beliefs like price is our only added value or ours is simply a commodity business or we can’t alienate our distribution partners or even or our brand plays no role. It’s just all about customer relationships. You get the general idea. The people responsible for brands need to re-examine these assumptions in the light of what is possible rather than what’s always been in the end, your brand can be your trump card, it can be your ace, king or queen.

It can also be a joker and we’re working together to help you avoid that. The second step is understand. The factors that contribute to brand value brand value, which is also referred to as brand equity, is a set of brand assets and liabilities linked to a brand’s name, symbol, experiences, perceptions and all of the other ephemera we’ve already covered, basically those things which either add to Or subtract from the perceived value provided by a product or a service understanding the assets which make up your brand.

Those seven storytelling elements in the six levels of meaning will better enable you to understand the value of your brand. You can actually measure aspects of your brand’s value through things like social media. You know things like likes and comments and shares. You can also measure it through a process called analytics things like how many unique visitors does your website or your blog get every day? Where do most of those visitors come from? How long do they stay on your website or blog all those sorts of questions? We’ve created an entire SME smu unit, all based on analytics what it is and how to do it? It’s basically that important a subject, but for now just know that there are ways and ways and means to measure your brand’s value and then, of course, there’s the most obvious value measure of a brand sales and profit.

So, once more step, two is to understand the factors that contribute to your brand’s value. The third step in this process is identify your key target audience. This is something we’ll be delving into far more deeply in such an eight once the rule of brand has been explored. The next critical step is to identify your key target audiences to prioritize this effort, it’s necessary to distinguish between targets that drive the success of the business and targets that simply contribute to it or influence its success.

In some cases, if you successfully influence your driving audience, the resulting business performance will be strong enough to motivate your contributing audiences to take notice and to respond, in other words, there’s two kind of people, their leaders and their followers. Who are the trendsetters in opinion formers in your industry? You are the most likely to be the first to engage with your new product or your new service.

These are the people you need to specifically address to begin with. Let them advocate your brand and convince those who trust their opinion to engage. The primary challenge is to design a brand strategy that connects with your driving audiences and an integrated Bryan communications plan to connect with your contributing audiences as kind of important. So I’m going to repeat that one again, the primary challenge is to design a brand strategy that connects with your driving audiences.

Those are the opinion formers and the thought, leaders within your sector or your industry, and an integrated brand communications plan to connect with your contributing audiences. Those are basically the people who listen to and follow the advice of opinion formers and thought leaders step. Four is all about framing your big idea. Big Ideas define a bronze, unique value; propositions, communicating sameness, it’s just a waste of valuable resources, communicating meaningful distinctiveness as a catalyst for growth.

Big Ideas stem from a clear understanding of an audience’s needs marketplace dynamics and your business strategies. Big Ideas match your brand’s unique benefits with the needs of your driving audience. Step 5 is assessing your big idea. Great big ideas satisfy four fundamental criteria. First criteria is relevant and by that I mean be relevant and connecting with an audience’s needs. Remember your central pop proposition, your character and your protagonist.

This is where they can come into play. The second criteria is differentiated by that I mean being differentiated and stand apart from competitive propositions. Remember things like your antagonist, your bridge and your resolution. Next, your big idea has to be credible in its believability and something that often gets overlooked. Your big any idea it needs to have stretch it needs to have the ability to stretch and grow with your business as it evolves relevance.

Difference and credibility are the three things you must continually assess and ensure each accurately reflect your brand relevant difference and credibility are the three things you must continually assess. You also have to ensure that each accurately reflects your brand. The sixth step is actually understanding how far you need to shift perceptions in order to own your big idea as they develop a loyal relationship with the brand audiences move, through almost a process of progressive involvement, with little to minimal kind of touch points in the beginning.

To actually becoming quite actively involved with your brand’s later on during that process, perceptions may develop that could hinder an audience’s ability to respond to your distinctive promise. These perception barriers must be overcome to convey your big idea. Some barriers are more difficult to surmount than others. If your barriers are awareness related and chances are, if you’re new to the market, that’s going to be your challenge.

Actually getting people aware that your brand even exists. If your barriers are actually awareness related, greater exposure to your message may be, all that’s actually need it to fix the problem. However, you, if you face questions about your credibility, you must actually change the way your audience thinks about your value. So here’s some common perception barriers that brands have faced. The first example is through a previous experience with the brand that was less than a quality experience.

This negative experience builds mistrust and closes an audience love to any new messages that you send. The second kind of barrier is a perception barrier. A company that purports to be a green company will attract a green, conscious audience if it’s found to not have green practices. This will undermine if not destroy the perception of that brand. Another kind of perception barrier is when something that’s branded as easy to do.

We’re easy to assemble is perceived to be difficult. A more subtle perception barrier happens if a brand’s message doesn’t convey conviction or if a bronze tone of voice doesn’t match the actual brand image. For instance, if I’m marketing a children’s book and aimed at nine to 11 year olds, but the branding language I use, is worthy of a PhD student, that’s not really going to instill a positive Association for the book cultural differences.

Now this is a big one. One of the most famous cases of this is when Chevrolet won’t de Nova in Latin America, nova or more accurately. No vah translates as no go in Spanish, not exactly the kind of message you want to send about a car. The seventh step in the ibc process is to build your message to shift perceptions, getting people to change the way they think about. Your brand is no easy task. It requires a communication effort that is capable of penetrating the formidable walls.

People erect as a protection against deadly information overload to make them take notice. You must deliver precisely targeted messages that rises above the clutter and compels them to alter their assumptions. This is more or less with that article. A few slides earlier actually addressed a compelling message that delivers a powerful big idea can generate communication success even with the most modest media budgets make sure the messages are right again.

This is a direct link to the lectures and lesson sessions too. Okay, there’s not many steps left the eighth step and the IPC process is to understand the role that each communication tool you use, helps to create and shift perceptions and can ultimately sustain your brand’s momentum. Once you have your strategic brand message, you have to pick the most appropriate delivery vehicle, the rest of the SMU course units.

They address different aspects of these delivery mediums things like from blogging to social media, to websites and, more as a general rule. Each progressive stage of your involvement with an audience requires more individualized communications to meet the needs of your audience again. Think about tribes and think about the example I use with aardvark records about the different tribes we communicated with and how it used a different mix of personality traits and approaches targeted to very specific tribes within an overall audience.

Social media, advertising and PR are powerful awareness building tools, they’re also helpful and instilling a sense of relevance. High touch, media things like print advertising, interactive media and adverts, they’re better for relevance and instilling a clear sense of differential value, direct interactions, things again like social media. Well, those are the most effective tools for shaping satisfaction and encouraging audience loyalty.

The challenge is to leverage the relative power if each medium to build an integrated solution that will work the best for your unique audience communication requirements. The ninth step is to measure your results. I’ve covered this a few slides back when I mentioned analytics among the other purposes of analytics. This will allow you to define a return on your investment in terms of time and if budgets actually allow money – and here we go we’re at the last step.

The last step and the ibc process is to revisit step 5, which is all about shifting perceptions and repeat the whole process. Over and over again, ibc is not a one-time, only thing it’s a process and it’s a process that requires fine-tuning tweaking and changing. This is because Browns don’t exist in some sort of time, vacuum external and internal forces, but they basically require that we continually revisit the process.

Ibc is also an organic process, one that can be fed, nurtured and made stronger through active involvement once you’ve measured. Your initial results returned to the program’s foundations and examine opportunities for enhancement, return to your messages and explore opportunities to make them even more compelling return to your media assumptions and determine, if you’re, reaching your targets. Other things you can do return to your your budgets and determine if you’ve, if you’ve allocated them as effectively as possible and finally return to your assessment tools and determine whether they’re generating the insight you need to grow and manage your branding program.

Okay. So it’s time to start wrapping things up for this lecture. Let’s look at what brand messaging isn’t the old marketing paradigm is dead, and by that I mean the old weight the old-fashioned way of marketing. It was one-way communication from some unknown, faceless entity to the public. It was one-to-one communication, was a very top-down approach and evolved. Huge huge budgets just enormous enormously big spend because of this, because it’s one-way communication.

It was a top-down approach, basically messages coming down from on high down to consumers and customers, who you know they. We really weren’t asked for it to have any kind of involvement or feedback the companies that did that was perceived to be kind of faceless corporate brands. Companies who engage in this style of marketing or typically and usually perceived to be ignoring their social responsibilities and they’re.

Also perceived to be quite arrogant, okay, so now that we’ve taken a look at what brands messaging, isn’t we’re going to take a look at what brand messaging actually is the new marketing paradigm is it’s about building relationships with an audience. It’s about one-to-many communication. It’s about two-way loyalty and respect. It’s also about honesty. Even if that honesty hurts it’s about communicating values, two-way dialogue, again, those are all important considerations in terms of building a community, especially community, around your brand.

It’s not only allowing but actively encouraging your audience’s commentary about your you and your brand, and it’s also a two-way growth process. Some of the best most innovative ideas that we actually had an aardvark actually came about through actively engaging with their audience listening to what they had to say and hearing their suggestions in their feedback branding. It’s about people, it’s about community, it’s about participation, it’s the shift from monologue to dialogue, and it has changed traditional media and marketing forever.

Okay, so I’ve been banding this term community about a little in our previous sessions together. It’s a term that I appreciate people can interpret differently. So what exactly do I mean when I say community? For me the three core components? The first component is a group having a shared consciousness, and by that I mean members, feel they kind of sort of knew. Each other, or they knew something about each other because they have a shared interest.

So an example of this would be people who drive Broncos, who else drives Broncos? Well guys like me and guys who like engines, and it could be that simple. The second component are rituals and traditions, and by this I mean the way in which the meaning of a community is reproduced within that group, and I know that’s a bit abstract, so i’m going to give you an example. An example of this would be people who drive sobs and my experience.

They are so passionate about their car. They really are sab acolytes, so an example would be. If you drew, you know, if you drove a saab, whenever you pass anyone else driving a slob, you either beep your horn or flash your lights you’re, giving an indication to kind of thumbs up you’re in the Saab club. The third component is a sense of moral responsibility, and by that I mean as a sense of duty to the community as a whole and then example of this would be.

We see another sob on the road we pull over and we help no matter what it is. It’s that really kind of deep connection. The last part of this wrap up is to highlight some of the most common brand messaging mistakes. First mistake: not speaking to audience values too often marketers create messaging around what they believe are the most important features of their product or the service. Instead of looking into what’s actually important to their audience.

Take the time to understand your audience and their values then align it to your messaging. Accordingly, one way to get insight into your audience’s values is to ask them to complete a short online survey using something like survey monkey. For instance, a small online design store that features. Recycle furniture might use an online survey to compare what customers to compare customers values. For example, the store may find out that will cost is important to its audience.

Family and safety are the two things their audience. Power actually values the most. The company can then shift its messaging from lowest cost to family-friendly furniture on a budget. The second mistake relying too heavily on buzzwords. Everyone wants to be part of a major trend, whether it’s being a big data company, a slow food, restaurant or a mom preneur. The problem with relying on these buzzwords to define you is that the more popular they become, the less impact they have people begin to just simply change these kind of buzz.

Where it’s out this doesn’t mean you can’t use popular category phrases, just use them sparingly and pair them with words that differentiate you and pack a unique punch, for example, natural skin care company. True kid does a great job of using the term sustainable in its company messaging, and it does it in a really subtle way that feels quite authentic. For instance, true kidner choose kids through their daily through their daily play and is paving the way to innovative sustainable body and hair care for the whole family, from babies to big kids.

Third mistake: failing to make your messages portable many companies rely on word-of-mouth to drive their business. Is your messaging portable enough for these customers to easily spread? The word one way to check is to try boiling your messaging down to just one or two sentences. Creating the same type of logline Hollywood users, to sum up a movie or TV plot, and by logline I mean there’s kind of strapped lines that we hear a young man or woman from different social classes fall in love aboard an ill-fated voyage at sea.

If you can’t tell your story and 50 words or less chances, are your audience won’t be able to either your log lines? You give people an idea of what you offer and provide some sort of hook to stimulate interest, for example, a boutique PR agency that specializes in launching hot emerging tech companies. Another one could be an accounting firm that deals exclusively with small business. Audio audits, once you’ve got your logline, go back to your marketing copy and make sure these these simple messages come through loud and clear.

You can also use the logline itself in your marketing materials. Remember the aardvark one! We listen and we learn another one was music. Unlimited simple memorable catching: you can also use these kind of log lines on your website and your social media properties and in conversations with your audience, both old and new. The fourth mistake is actually forgetting to excite. You know that sensation of arriving home after a short drive and not remembering any details of the actual journey, much of our life is spent in this kind of autopilot mode making decisions based on our habits, emotions and gut instincts.

It’s up to you to wake people up and to inspire them with your messaging, so infuse your language with as much excitement and energy as possible and use action verbs rather than a passive tone of voice. Here’s a great example of action orientated messaging from cleaning cleaning product company method, it’s time to clean, happy with biodegradable products that clean, like hack, smell like heaven and leave nothing nasty in their wake.

The final mistake is messaging by committee. When you fill a conference room with senior managers for a managing session, it’s not unusual for everyone to have a different opinion about what the company does accompanied by a strong need to be heard. The problem with this approach is that it often results in statements like this one. Our mission is to help innovative leaders in the CPG industry, increase the velocity of their business and drive engagement with their suit with their social communities to inspire meaningful change, yeah.

What the heck does that even mean this mission statement is likely suffering from something we call whiteboard Ida’s the inflammation that occurs when someone crimes everything from a whiteboard into one sentence. It may also have a case of groupthink in which fresh concepts surfaced by the team gets boiled down into familiar jargon. Out of the need for consult consensus, compare the clunky mission statement above to this simple powerful example from bristol-myers squibb, whose mission it is to, and I quote, to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail for serious diseases.

Your messaging shouldn’t sound like it was fused together in dr. Frankenstein’s lab, while it’s valuable to get multiple opinions, don’t fall into the trap of trying to please everyone in the room. Stay true to your audience’s values, be authentic and communicate in straightforward terms. All the best for your work on the scenario and the template that accompanies this session and I’ll see you again in session for

So basically, this is a little inside my app costs.

A lot of money to build it still isn’t fully built it. I don’t know why it closed in the article, but it’s like 250,000 dollars. Obviously I hear that for my developers and I’m like okay and I was thinking – okay, I’m going to wait till next year to put out something – maybe that’s where I was thinking. I decided like fuck that I’m going to do it. I don’t give a shit. This is going to be building the background, but simultaneously I will build something right now.

I can do myself that is low ticket, it doesn’t cost me anything and I will stop making excuses because it was her. There’s a wait. Will you wake up? It hurts you. Just to think you’re putting us on the back burner, you just need to get one sale. Just literally one sale, DM someone or an influencer give me an L via all the product. It will help you. It will give you so much ease and I don’t think you need someone to edit content right now.

I think it’s just focus on one sale without a website. Little use Instagram, as your blog summarize. I just told something I think, you’re making your goals way too. Big, it’s so intimidating when you can’t chunk it down. My biggest thing and hat is when you’re setting goals and objectives make sure you follow. Okay, our objective key results. What is that you say so in AD? I need a period you want to ask yourself: what do I want to achieve? That’s your objective.

Your key results are the measurement of the success of your project. You want to launch a beauty brand successfully and that’s the objective may be your key results are sent. One part to an influencer make sales and begin to start making content on your iPhone. A lot of you guys think that you can’t achieve your goal when really you’re not giving yourself enough time. So when you say what can I do in 90 days, it gives you enough time to really think about what you want to do and it’s super efficient.

So another girl autumn actually asked me a question about what do you do when you feel like your followers and engagement goes down and there’s some times when you get a spike, but then they unfollow and then they go back down and then you get more followers And then they all unfollow, I think we’ve all been there. So here’s the catch I asked autumn. Why was it going down? Okay? This is what I had to say.

Take a look at your data. This Instagram bullshit is not some magical, wizard. Okay, it’s pretty practical! You look at your data. Did people unfollowed because I didn’t engage with them? I didn’t comment back. I didn’t DM them and maybe you can ask yourself: is it maybe the holiday season where people are taking a break they’re not using their phone as much? That could be a valid reason, so take a look at your Instagram analytics and see if there’s a dip, maybe I have to send out another post saying.

Thank you so much for engaging with my content. One of the biggest hacks I recommend you to do is if you literally feel like you’re, not achieving your goals, go back to where you feel like you were the most highest performing or where you got the most likes, or you got the most engagement and start Engaging with those people to bring them back, did he Belov it the program? Do you have a referral program for it? I know, okay, what I would do, how much of the product your audience is like people who are into health within australia.

Christmas is coming up. I think one thing to spike sales is always seasons like if the reason why it scales are dropping is because you’re not initiating those time sensitive things so see Christmas coming up by one. If you have my program, you get thirty dollars if you’re for a friend and you get it’s three dollars like something like that. Do you have like email leads of them? Yes and a blast yeah like some of their own photos, go to your old people.

Who comment comment on their photos? Follow them back it’s as simple as just going back to the people who cared about you in the beginning, and we engaging with so long story short while you’re setting your goals and achieving them make sure you look at your data and keep your track of your Progress you know something I wanted to share was this, but I love waking up every day and having something to do, and I realized some people out there.

Sometimes don’t have that seriously. Even when I was in high school by the way I dropped out of high school and it was scary – you had to understand I’m only 17 years old, but every single time when I was in high school or whether I was working right now. I woke up with a to-do list. It made me so happy and I just can’t imagine waking up one day and not having a book of things to do. I want to ask you guys: do you have a to-do list and at the end of day, do you know your purpose? Because purpose is the one thing that motivates you forever and ever nothing can take that away from you.

It’s a sense of feeling that hey there’s something greater beyond just me. Now. That’s super deep and super sappy, but literally like imagine one day you had nothing to do it. Would that be fun. I feel like you’re just eat and read Netflix, but then I don’t even have a netbook see. I don’t even know what to dip and to close this off. It’s just don’t be burnt out when you’re sitting goals. I think you have to understand: keep it in a 90-day time frame, you’re being too hard on yourself, you could get burnt out bay, so this is my book.

It’s by moleskin. Please give me a brand deal and this notebook is my to-do list, but it’s just more than that, because you ever wake up. You have a lot of things to do, but you don’t know why it matters. It gets really scary because someone nasha told me because anyone like yes theory or does anyone know that blog? Yes, okay, yes, theory, it’s a YouTube blog, those stupid shit like jumping out of airplanes.

It’s like Jake Paul before more mature people, and they were saying that there was a point where they were burnt out. Now I don’t think burnt out is something where you’re tired and there’s a lot things to do, because if you really love something you can go through that tiredness, I think tired burnt out is the tiredness plus lack of clarity. And if you don’t know why you’re doing what you’re doing that’s pronounced? So that’s why it’s prevent that, because I’ve been there after my dad has that burnout right mom, like like it’s like, looks like burnt out a lot like something where you just like.

Okay, I’m tired it’s like sometimes physically. You can’t work for three. How long mean how many years you know work for few years couldn’t work and it’s scary, my dad was burnt out for a few years after his company it had fallen. I’m not saying he’s a vegetable but like, let’s just say it’s really hard to see your family kind of go through burnt out, and I really want to prevent this family online to not go through that either.

So just make sure and remember three things: set objectives and key results. Every single 90 day period, second track your progress and make sure when you feel like you’re, not achieving it, go back to your data and just see why and don’t give up and, lastly, minimize burnt out by knowing your purpose just believe you guys can work through Long hours nights, you guys don’t need to sleep, well sleep, but you know what I’m saying like I feel like.

If you love what you’re doing so much, you won’t have a problem working hard on it. The problem is, if you don’t know your, why so it’d be on objective and key results? No your mission, no, your purpose. The reason why I pick up my notebook is beyond just me: it’s beyond just doing things off a to-do list. It’s because I want to make Instagram articles and posts, because I want to inspire others and help people with their own lives.

So when you can find that connection, you start to work at lightning speed. Your business grows. That’s literally how I went from 1 to 30 thousand followers. I cared more about the people than myself. I engage every single time and I sent 90-day goals to make sure I’m achieving everything Wow by the way guys I almost forgot. I actually have a Instagram growth playlist for free again, I don’t people think I like what their credit card for this like.

I guess this week, Carrie Snowden the professional marketer and blogger here in the salt lake city area and before we get to carries interview in which he gives us some great blogging tips.

I just wanted to do a shout-out for his website. Business. Blogger tips come in which he shares lots of information about blogging, including an excellent resource list. I also wanted to make sure that you knew that he had a itunes, podcast called business bloggers tips and there are at least fifty podcasts that you can listen to again. Specific to blogging so right now, let’s hear from Carrie Snowden and get his tips on adding blogging to our small businesses.

So we can move our businesses forward, hi Carrie thanks so much for joining me on this episode of step up. My pleasure sherry glad to be here. Thank you. I love talking to you so today we’re going to talk about blogging, and I know that you have a service that provides content for people who are interested in blogging and perhaps don’t want to start out doing it. Why don’t you give us a little background on list 5 and then we’ll go from there? We work with franchise groups to build out basically a blog for each of their sites, and then we provide regular customized content into each of those blogs.

So, quite literally, we can provide an unlimited number of customized unique blogs for a wide range of you know: distributors or sales people, or even you know, brick and mortar kind of shops all around, and our our key really is in being able to provide compliant content. That is completely unique for each site and just explain to people who are new to blogging. What does compliance you know compliant has to do with with corporate rules and sometimes even government rules and regulations, and that is saying things that are not only appropriate but legal.

So compliance has to do with either you know matching corporate rate rules and regulations or government rules and regulations, and that’s a big problem for a lot of franchise groups in particular that are worried about their brand and worried about what some of their bloggers out there Might be saying about their products right, okay, great! So let me just jump right in um. Why should people be blogging primarily because it becomes a very strong voice in in two primary areas of marketing? One is web based marketing, so marketing to the search engines and getting your content out in the search engines and another is that you know.

Lately. It’s been very important for companies to connect with their consumers. They’re cut their customers in a very personalized kind of way and a blog allows that to happen as well, so you’re, you’re kind of killing two birds with one stone, you’re you’re, appealing to the search engines in possibly the best way that you can, when you’re, providing Regular content on your blog you’re, giving search engines what they need, and that is content to delivery.

People who are searching for your keywords, so blogging is a great way to get your SEO out of the way and connect with your customers. Okay. So, let’s just talk briefly about keywords, then, if you had three tips for bloggers, keywords would definitely be one of the tips. Then yeah, that’s a that’s actually, a pretty huge one. The important thing about using a blog for marketing is to maintain relevancy.

So you know you don’t want your blog to meander through lots of different topics. You really want to focus on a specific topic, and usually that is your company or your products or the value or in benefits that they provide to your customers. So using kind of those three building blocks company products value, there’s a million one things that you can write about and you’re staying on topic. Basically, so it makes it easier to gather an audience because people are flocking to some content that they like to read and then you’re also looking at being able to maintain some search engine kind of rank based on those keywords to so consistency, there is important.

Okay, so before even writing that first blog post, what are things that a company needs to think about? What do they need to know about their own product or service or what they’re trying to do? But what do they need to know about their prospects or their target market? So you’ve got two questions in there. One is what do I need to know about my topic and then the other is. What do I need to know about the people who are going to read about that right? And this is where a lot of people kind of get hung up on blogging.

You’ll find a lot of people say, I’m just not ready to start, because I don’t know everything that I need to know and that’s not necessarily true. You’ll find that blogging becomes an experience where you can actually learn a lot more about your own products, and you start to meet an audience that you may not know you ever had. So I would say to start with it’s important to know your elevator pitch.

What is it that you’re talking about, and can you can you describe that in just a few sentences? You know an elevator pitch is, is the idea of if we both get on an elevator at the first floor and you’re getting off on the second floor, can I describe to you what my company does in that amount of time and you walk away understanding what We’ve got if you can, if you have your elevator pitch kind of worked out, that can be the basis for starting a quite wonderful blog because now you’re starting to share that story with your customers and you go out now.

Let’s talk about the audience side to just for a minute I want to when I start a blog I’ll have an audience in mind, and anyone that has a small business should have at least in a segment of their audience in mind. But I don’t – I don’t really know my entire audience this product that I have may appeal to someone that I haven’t even considered yet, hopefully that’s the case as an entrepreneur. We’re experimenting with ideas and products and getting them out there in a way that maybe attracts more people than we thought we could so split.

But it is important to start with an audience that you think is going to apply. You know I i’m not going to start talking about swimsuits to people who ride horses, for instance, so you can at least kind of start in in an area. But it’s not important to refine that audience down to the finest segment, because, when you’re blogging you’re appealing to a pretty wide range of people. I kind of think of this in terms of what I like to call the considered purchase cycle and blogging is a great way to generate interest at a very early stage of a considered, purchase and and along that considered purchase that the closer somebody gets to buying Your product, the more specific the information they’re going to need.

Okay and that’s when you get into personalized contact or delivering spec sheets or data sheets about your product. We’re talking early on we’re talking almost the same kind of information that you would see in a in a television commercial, so very broad, very emotional, based information about your product. Getting people excited about it, sharing some benefits and features and getting people interested in asking questions about those, and then you can refine it from there.

But what do you need to know about your product start with your elevator pitch and kind of work with that? And just be very general about the kind of information and consider that you’re going to a very general audience and the people who are really interested will start to refine as they go down that considered purchase cycle. Okay, um. This might be a strange question totally off base, but I was actually listening to a guy sort of teach at blogging class and he said never embed links that can take someone away from your you’re making or your website and take it to someone else.

I know that you can have when you’re liking, WordPress and you’re adding a link. You can have it open into an in page so that they they don’t lose you but sure. I know the new, your information. You do talk about linking a lot so give us your tip specific to lady. Should they do it specific to linking, should they do it, and the answer is yes and – and I have a very different opinion about linking – and it all has to do with what search engines are really looking for and what people who use search engines are looking For so let’s, let’s take Google, for example, Google delivers a product and that product is information that is relevant to your search term.

When you get to the site that you found through google, google wants that site to be as informational as possible. They also want that site to be very connected and think about connections being even social connections. The person you want to meet is the person who knows everyone, because now you become part of that culture and you can meet everyone through that. One link. Think of your website. In the same way, when I provide links to other relevant sites through my own site, I essentially become a hub to that community and Google will recognize my hub position in that community and will link to me more often because they know people would get to those Other sites through me and I can become most relevant by linking to other sites from mine, so in other words, Google will say of all of these people that I can introduce you to.

I want to introduce you to the one who knows the most people and those people then become. Are the links essentially to your website. So, linking out from your website is a great idea when you, when you want to establish yourself, is that central hub? Okay and how do you get links back? How do you get links back and that’s that’s a tricky one, because you know there’s link farming and there’s there’s these call groups that will literally spend all day calling people just ask for a link back.

There are the linkbacks that you get, are kind of graded and linked back from a very relevant site are very highly ranked links back from just junk sites out there are ranked fairly very low, and the problem is, if you have a lot of those low ranks, It won’t help you a lot in some cases. It can hurt you if you have lots of links from a topic that you’re not discussing. Google might think that you are selling horses instead of bathing suits, so you want to be real careful about the kind of links you’re getting back so how to get those links.

There are a number of ways using a blog in particular, is a great way to get links back to your home site. So you want to be linking to your home site from your blog, and there are a few strategies for doing that. Building a blog externals to your site is one not necessarily the best strategy. The other best way to get links is to get engaged with your community. So if you happen to be a saddle, salesman go out and engage with other people who are selling saddles discussing, saddles, making saddles talk to those people, make comments on their blogs and comments.

Usually contain a link back to your site, so the more engaged you are with your community, the more links you can get back and those are good, solid, relevant links, really quick. Another great way to get links in a very important way to get links is to use press relations every time your company or your entrepreneurial venture does something that is newsworthy, create a press release about that event and send that out to the multitude of free press Sites out there and that becomes good, solid content coming back to you from from new sites and those are very highly regarded links back to your site.

So don’t forget, don’t forget the PR angle to that as well thats, a good reminder. So how do you find? Let’s say you want to find the five most influential blogs that are in your niche. Do you what we want your tip for doing that? Well, so all of this might start with a visit to the google keyword tool. Just do a google search for google keyword tool and you’ll find it. If I’m that tool, you can find the top 100 search terms that are related to a search term that you type in so FL I’ll.

Stick with the horse analogy and say all right: i’m selling saddles so i’ll enter saddle into the keyword, search tool and Google will give me the top 100 search terms that are related to that. So now I have a list of things that I can begin to. Search for and find other blogs that are using those same search terms, and that’s that’s how I would do it there’s a couple of easy ways to do this. I can run down to Barnes & Noble and grab a horse magazine and in that horse magazine are going to be hundreds of websites that I can visit.

Bloggers. People are selling other types of horse tack and I might visit those sites and just really get engaged with the community so finding it is just a matter of sticking to the search terms and really going after the relevant content that is out on the web. And let me throw one more thing in there when I do find those. I want to gauge those sites. If you can find out what those sites are ranked and now you can literally make a list of sites in order of priority with the highest ranked site.

Being your top priority to become engaged with and to get links from both of those important you, don’t you don’t want to just go out there and get links for the sake of links. The the links will be stronger and more beneficial to you. If you are engaged in those communities, so engaged means I’m making comments on their sites. I’m talking to people in a forum or I’m even developing a relationship with the owner of that other site, but specific to finding out how a page is ranked.

I know there’s a: is it a Google tool that you can use? You know, there’s a lot of plugins if you’re using Firefox for your browser, which I do there are a couple of PageRank plugins. So, every time I visit a site, the PageRank is displayed right at the bottom of the page. I can see it right off if you just go to your plugins for your browser and do a search for pagerank you’ll find dozens of them.

Most of them are using the same data, so that would be the first step is to install some type of browser plug-in that it shows page range. This problem have that do roam. Yeah chrome does have page rank okay, um, let’s see one of the other things that I noticed that you give a tip for 2. New bloggers is if they are a local business, how are they? How are they establishing a local presence versus you know just trying to attach themselves to the world right? So the idea there is that if I am a brick-and-mortar type shop, let’s say a hair salon, my clientele for a hair salon are going to be within 20 or 30 miles of my hair salon.

Most of the activity I’ll see is going to be within 10 or 15 miles of my of my brick and mortar shop. So it doesn’t make sense to me for me to market my shop to people who are in another state, for instance. So now we talk about localization and there are a couple of ways that you can optimize for localized search, optimization. One of them is to add your address to your blog content. So I might add the name of my state or the name of my city and especially here’s a tip, especially my zip code.

Adding your address to your blog posts will help you in the local search traffic rankings. I do a lot of keyword, modification or keyword. Optimization so if I have a keyword, is hair salon, I would put the name of my city in front of that because I know a lot of people search for that. If i’m looking for a hair salon, I might type the name of my city and then the words hair salon, because that’s where I’m looking, the other thing I might do is actually register my site on google maps.

Now there everybody – you actually hurt mine ring a few minutes ago, but we’ve all got iPhones and other types of mobile devices, and many of these now have GPS in them. So literally, when I do a search on my phone, Google knows where I’m searching from and they’re going to give me results, even if I don’t ask for them. They’ll try to give me results that are within 10 or 15 miles of where I’m standing.

So they know that that’s exactly where I want to find goods and services close to me so registering with Google Maps is another great way, but I would say primarily in terms of writing, and that’s really. My focus is on the writing side of this and creating organic search rank. Adding your address components to your blog and modifying your keywords with your location is one of the most important things you can do.

So how would you work in your address, though you just say, hey, be sure to visit us at at the end of your blog post or yeah yeah. There’s there’s a couple of ways you know and you can get pretty creative with it, but that would be the basic just throwing your contact information along the bottom and important to to maybe mix it up a little bit. Don’t just create a signature stamp and at that every time I would write the information differently as often as you can and and of course, modifying your keywords and also incorporating it into a sentence.

You might say if you’re looking for a hair salon in orem utah, come visit me at my name of shop. So you can incorporate your your city and state and even your zip code right into the content and that’s where it’s important. It’s a good idea to block it down at the bottom, but if you can work it into the content, that’s even more powerful! Okay and how important our comments? You know it becomes like this popularity thing.

People spend so much time writing a blog post and any this has been having to me I’ll write, a blog post and absolutely no one will comment on it, but they’ll say to me, via Facebook or via Twitter or via email, personal email. That was a great black buzzing, like my god, please put that juice over there. You know if that’s a tough one, it’s it’s tough to get people to engage because we’re all busy – and you know, we’ve got things to do, and it’s not always easy to just go and make some comments.

One of the ways you can help kind of prime the pump a little bit is to have a culture of people that you rely on to to get comments. Going so have some friends make some comments? Some might regard that a little bit as cheating. But if you work with a community of people that are that are kind of in it with you, you can generate a conversation and that’s really what you’re trying to do. The other thing is there.

There are a lot of ways to block or kind of restrict comments, and every small restriction you create is one more barrier to getting comments. So a lot of people put CAPTCHAs on their comment window so that I have to type in some strange yeah. You know word to get access to the blog, I’ll, probably avoid it. In fact, I myself I’ve even written comments, and you get to that point. You think I don’t have time or I’ve got to move on right.

So every little barrier you put in place means you’re going to get fewer and fewer comments. You’re. The first part of your question had to do with how important comments are and there’s there’s a kind of a yes and a note to that question comments can be very important because it’s kind of free content right. It’s it’s additional content that goes on your blog and the more content that you have and the more frequent that content is posted.

The more popular your blog will be in the search engines, so comments can be extremely valuable. They are not the end of the world, though there are lots of very popular blogs out there that do not allow comments, so you know that it becomes a moderation issue. In some cases you may not want to do that either. So comments can be extremely powerful, but they are not the end of the world. Okay. So to really look at the effectiveness of your blog or the traffic you’re.

Looking at what to line up Google Analytics or what are you using? I use google analytics it’s free. It’s tied right into Google, I mean as soon as I light as soon as I start up. My google account you know or push a blog into google analytics. Google knows who I am and they’re starting to analyze. My account it’s kind of a window into what google can see about my site and that’s important to me because I like to what Google is thinking right.

I I don’t get. I don’t have a lot of time, so I don’t study my google analytics for hours and hours and try to make modifications every day and that sort of thing there are some people who do and google it analytics will allow you to do that for a free, App, it does just about everything you could ever want. I pay attention to just a few basic things, though, really kind of three things: one is overall traffic.

How am I doing, and if you’re familiar with Google Analytics, you know it gives you a big long chart right up at the top and it shows your traffic, whether it’s going up or down, and you can usually see exactly where the weekends are or things like That so I pay attention to how many people are visiting my site. I also pay attention to where people are visiting from so I have some blogs that are local community blogs and it’s very interesting when I see traffic coming from outside of the state and then I have blogs that are more nationally oriented and it’s very interesting to See where you know which states are more heavily involved and what those aligned with the other thing I look at is what key search terms are bringing people to my site, and I think that’s probably the most important of them all is to understand what content is Bringing people to your site and that’s where you start to refine your search terms and refine your elevator pitch a little bit to match what people are looking for and if I could revisit that first point we made a few minutes ago when you first start, don’t Be afraid to just put a stake in the ground and get moving and pretty soon you’ll you’ll start reading your analytics and you’ll start getting feedback from people and you’ll see where you need to steer your company a little bit to to meet up with the largest Number of customers, or or to meet your goals whatever they are, so you have this blog.

How do you use it for your across-the-board branding like how are you connecting your blog to your social sites to your? If you have a static website? How do you personally recommend decline and to have this be an effective tool? That’s working for you, 24, 7. So a lot of things that you can do there, so I use wordpress wordpress is my favorite blogging software. It’s very easy to install and it’s very robust and is very popular.

The neat thing about wordpress also, is that there are thousands and thousands of plugins that extend the you know the versatility of my blog. Many of those plugins will automatically repost my content to Twitter and Facebook, for instance. So I have a few of those installed so that whenever I put a post up and I hit save it automatically reposts to the favourite places that I wanted to go so then I’ve got my facebook audience seeing my new posts, I’ve got my Twitter audience seeing My new post and I’m taking advantage of those social networks without wasting a lot of time.

Reposting and you know you could literally spend hours and hours taking care of a single blog post or with the right plugins. You can do it all in half an hour. This is some other social things that are important to do, dig and stumble upon are two of my favorite post sharing mechanisms and you’ll see some traffic come from those sites as well, so there you know. Obviously, there are a couple of neat places to repost your content.

There are also mechanisms that are kind of the old standbys, using email, for instance, to re-distribute a blog post, and let people know that i’m still active on a particular blog. So, there’s a lot of things you can do there, but primarily whenever I I use my blog is 10 of my home base. I go there first, that’s where I’m putting my content, so everybody has a home that they can come to that I’m managing and then from there.

I share links out to all the social networks to point people back to the block. Okay. How often do you repost a blog post link on twitter? So if i’m really trying to be active, I might do it four times through the day. If i’m really trying to generate some some activity, you know if it’s an event or something I might do. It may be a few more, but typically I’ll. Do it once or twice and then, if I really want to try to get some attention I’ll, do it three or four times and it all kind of depends on the audience as well? But you don’t want to redo the same one all the time you might want to add a new twist, and maybe even do some experimenting on what kind of headline is attracting the most people.

So typically you’ll add a question right. I’ve posted a new blog out there and I might ask a question as to whether you know what might be in my blog. You know: did you know that saddles are made of leather? No, of course you did, but you might be compelled to visit my website to learn why that’s important. You know as an example a bad one. Maybe I love you period. Ok, so we’ve talked pretty much about all the highlights that I wanted to get to you, because I know that you have you need to go soon.

So I don’t remember if I told you that I wanted you to come up with an assignment for both me and my viewers, an assignment. So what it be. One of the important things about blogging is frequency, especially when you’re dealing with with search engines, but also very important for your readership for your audience. In fact, you kind of caught me earlier today when we were discussing this interview.

You mentioned that one of my blogs didn’t have a post for quite a while now, and you kind of you taught me – and it’s got me thinking about that yeah, oh so frequency is, is probably one of the most important things you can do with a blog. When you start a blog, you really have to commit to doing something with it. Some form of activity at least once a week, if you’re a business blogger once a week is really the minimum.

If you really want to keep your audience attention twice a week, if you are a crazy, rockin news website, you know – and we all know of these there – you can post two or three times a day and, and that is great stuff, but at a minimum once One to two times per week – and that would be my tip verb tip / assignment – is to recommit to a frequency schedule that you can manage. You don’t want your blog to take over your life, but if you want your blog to work for your business, commit to at least once per week for your business blog so that the search engines recognize who you are and your audience doesn’t lose you okay and Should you mix that up, should it be a article blog once and or give you off all written content for yourself it so there’s there’s a yes to both of those.

Whenever I add article to my blog, it has to contain a written explanation. The search engines don’t care about article; they can see that article is there and they recognize that that’s important, but article is really for your reading audience to capture their attention and give them something to read. If you’re, not posting text content on your blog each week, the search engines won’t be finding you with the keyword, strength that you want them to.

So so I would say it’s always text and especially when you post a article, don’t forget to explain the article. It only takes two or three sentences to satisfy the requirement, but you always need to include some text. Okay, and you also offer people the option of listening to your blog posts. Do you record an audio version you make? I do. I have a podcast actually at business, blogger tips, com, and you know it’s it’s less frequent now, but for last year I did one per week and I recorded that using GarageBand here on my mac and there’s pc versions of that too, that you can use to Record your track, convert it to a podcast.

I use a blueberry press to post that up to my blog and yes, I give people the option to listen to my my blog as well, and the neat thing about that. Is there a lot of people that ride trains or bicycles, or you know, commuting to work and they don’t always have access to the internet, but they can download it to their phone, their ipod or whatever, and listen to your blog on the way? So it’s a great way for people to double up on their time on the way to and from somewhere and listen to you while they’re on the go.

Okay. So that’s that’s been a lot of fun yeah! I, like your site, I’ve visited it’s great um, so you’re, let’s just wrap this up by your three most important tips when it comes to blogging. What do you tell your clients from the Gecko these? You must do so it and that’s just going to be kind of a review of what we’ve already talked about. Most important is going to be frequency at least once per week of your business blogger, otherwise, you’re wasting your time to is really relevancy, maintaining focus on a handful of keywords, and I usually tell people to pick three keywords that we’re going to focus on and then To make another list of about 15 that are sort of peripheral keywords, so frequency keywords and localization is really big right now, especially if you’re a brick-and-mortar type shop, that services a region and if you’re in a region, use your city name and don’t be afraid to Use city names from a few other people around you too and I’ll add a fourth really quick and that is linking don’t be afraid to link to and from your competitors or other people’s sites, so that you will be seen as a hub to the community and Not just a dead end, okay and is one of the services that you provide is if someone has a blog and they just want you to look at and tell them what they’re not doing perhaps most effectively.

Is that something that you do you know it’s something I do kind of as a friend? So if anybody has some questions about blogging, I’d be happy to answer them. A lot of the advice that I would give can be found on my podcast site, which is business, bloggers, tips com, so there’s some great information up there or send me an email through that site as well. I’d be happy to answer some questions. Okay, thank you.

Carry this is your bubbles. Thank you so much for joining me. You know what there’s a lot of fun and good to see you again.

Financial IT interview with Ioana Guiman, Business Development & Managing Partner of Allevo

We are celebrating 20 years of age this year, so we’re quite a mature business that have grown organically and we’ve been serving banks and other types of financial institutions from the very beginning, helping them automate their payments laws and achieve integration between their core banking systems and External market infrastructures, without our main focus, we very recently enrolled a new strategy that fresh out of the oven last year, and it defines us as a very customer intimate business, and that means we work very closely with our customers to understand what issues they actually have And what problems they also want us to solve, and that provides us with a lot of insight that allows us to develop our applications to provide not only compliance to their requirements, but also solve other issues.

Last year, for example, I noticed a lot of talk on the stage about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and applicability of that in financial services, a lot of talk behind the scenes about ideas that was not exactly on stage this. I have seen a bit of shift towards more focus on AI on artificial intelligence, and how can we best use the benefits of these types of technologies in financial services and how, on the other hand, do we protect ourselves from the bad things they bring with them? Cyberattacks and data privacy and all the type of so a levels solution for PSD to compliance enables the band to do a number of things.

First is obviously offering compliance to fill the PDP regulation, and that is, it manages the managing requests coming from payment initiation and account aggregation service providers on behalf of the final customer and processing all this type of communication between the data the bank has and is allowed To share with this third-party providers and them even allows a bank as the next step, to authorize itself as a PhD or a ISP and offer more value to the customer, and it allows the bank.

More importantly, I think to pursue the bank as a marketplace model where the bank itself and third-party developers can bring up into the API store and thus have diversification of product that they offer to people to become more relevant. And I think, a solution that enables that such as ours is what they should be looking at and, lastly, they also bring the merchant echo system closer and back to appoint the trust which is the bank.

One thing that is very different is that we work very closely with our customers to and started early last year, early 2017 to see how they perceive this regulation and what they want to do with it. But what we found is that they all have understood what the regulation said. They all have been part of the conversation and no, they knew all the implications that it had, but they had no idea how to go ahead and implement and collecting this feedback from our banks, our customers.

We were able to come back with them by midlist next year, with demo of this is how we think you should start to go ahead with it, and while doing that, we took into account not only their feedback but inside on the technologies they were already using In-House outers for strong customer authentication, for example, we wanted to be as this less disruptive as possible when bringing in a new architecture.

So we wanted to reuse the bits and pieces that were already available with the banks, and now we are very happy that we moved even further and we are running two books of concepts with two very important local bugs that I hope to be able to announce. Very soon there has been a lot of talk about, in fact that will replace pants and obviously no not everyone believes that truly the the truth is. I think that the need for payments to be solved has been cracked by a lot of feedbacks, so people have the needs for payments to be cheap, very fast, cross-border, with very small exchange rates with very small fees.

Banks have not done that yet, but then again, fintechs have not managed to do all that just on their own, so they are using the bank, rail, the bank infrastructures and the network of banks to be able to achieve this level of seamlessness. So I think we will see a lot of regulation that will target this in declare to bring a level playing field in the industry and more collaboration and more partnerships between banks, and things like to work together to actually give me something that actually needs.

As a user of their services,

Starting a business is not easy! Think about who will be working on your digital image. Hiring a good webmaster will help!

Stay at Home (Earn a Passive Income)

Do you want to stay at home and earn a passive income, and this is what earning a passive income can look at now, you’re saying well, why would I want to go to the beach and have my computer? Well, you couldn’t go to the beach without your computer once you’ve gotten to the point where you’re earning that passive income – or you can just take your work with you wherever you want and that’s the nice thing about working online, you don’t have to be stuck in An office you don’t have to suck at your house, you can take it anywhere.

You want with you not that I advocate working 24/7, but isn’t that a nice little quirk when you work from home from your computer, so I just thought that picture kind of pulled. It all together we’re going to talk about affiliate marketing today, and I want you to stick around because it’s not there’s different ways. You can do affiliate marketing and it’s one of the easiest ways to turn it into a passive income, because basically you’re setting up systems you’re, setting up a system to build a customer base.

You’re setting up a system where you communicate with them through automated sequenced emails and you’re, building up a system of products that you know that people want that solve problems for them and it’s all set up on the computer. It takes time there is a training below 30-day training that helps you to start understanding that and start putting those systems in place. Everybody starts from somewhere.

If you don’t know anything, that’s okay, that training will help you. Now, if you decide you want that training. I have a free pre training that kind of helps warm you up before. You start the intense 30 day training so make sure you take advantage of that as well cuz. I know when I did it. I knew nothing. I went in there cold turkey. I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing. I didn’t know anything about having a business online and I learned so much I was so excited, but part of my problem was there was so much to learn a lot of those terms weren’t familiar, so that’s why I made that pre training so that it is Familiar to you when you’re going to go, oh okay, I understand these things and it kind of will help be fast-track a little bit through your training all right.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MxRit8XHiMg

So what are we going to talk about? Affiliate marketing, like I said, is the best way to earn a passive income and with what is affiliate marketing affiliate marketing is when you take somebody else’s product and you sell it for them, and you might say I hate sales. I don’t want to sell things. I’ve already done the vacuum, cleaner thing and the you know door-to-door sales and all that remember anybody that you’re my age.

You probably remember all those things. It’s not like that. You can learn how to set up things that stay in place: they’re evergreen and once you find those products that people want they’re out there forever. I use YouTube. Actually, here we are, this, article will be there forever and if people are looking for ways to earn income as long as the ways that I have listed are still out there, I will leave these articles up and continue to help people figure out what they want To do – and I don’t have to keep going back and repeating myself if that makes sense, and I’ve even put them into a playlist.

So if you click the link below for the playlist, every article has three different ways: you can earn money. This one in particular, though, has one because affiliate marketing is really what’s near and dear to my heart, because I definitely want to go for passive income. So that’s why I chose to market affiliate marketing and I don’t have to create products. I’ve done that where I’ve done the shows where I’ve made crafts items and I went out and sold them.

So I love to sell things. I’ve done eBay, Craigslist, all those things, but I had to produce the product. I had to come up with something to sell. So that’s why I love affiliate marketing online because I can sell other people’s products now, let’s start over here we’re going to get to that article. In a moment, I talked about YouTube and I want to show you how you promote the products using a YouTube article and I’ll use that one in a moment, but where do I go to find the products where you go Amazon Associates has billions of products you Can sign up as an Amazon associate and start promoting products? Now they do have a six month trial period, where you have to sell at least three items to stay with them as an associate, and it’s just their way of cleaning house what if somebody came along, they signed up and they just checked it out.

They’re, like I don’t want to do this. Well then their accounts, it’s there forever and ever so. Amazon has set up a thing where, if you haven’t sold at least three items in six months, then they just close your account and if you decide hey, I changed my mind. I want to put more effort into it. I want to come back. You get approved again, it’s not a big deal, it’s just a way for them to clean up all those dead accounts kind of like what your bank does.

If you don’t use your savings account, they start charging your money that Amazon doesn’t charge. You, though, all right, so you can go at now. I will say some of the products only earned 7 to 11 percent, but that’s okay. It’s a great way to get started a great way to find products and start learning how to do it and Amazon. Everybody goes to Amazon right, so you’ve got an audience already now. The neat thing I like about Amazon once you get, what happens? Is you’ll go in you’ll sign up as an affiliate and they’ll give you special links and I might say: well I want to sell camera equipment and things that are related to that.

Maybe I have an interest in photography and I love all the equipment things and I want to make a website about that about how to be a photographer. Well then, I can find products that match my website about different equipment and I can have an affiliate link and people will click it and when they buy it, I get a commission now, do you have to have a website? No, you can have what we call a sales funnel instead and if you click below into that 30-day training, you’ll learn about that sales funnel and how to build it.

But people have websites as well. So that’s how you make money now! This is the thing: that’s cool about Amazon. If somebody comes along and clicks my link when they go yeah, I like that camera, but that’s not the one. I want I’m going to start exploring and looking at other cameras and you’re like well darn it they didn’t use my link. Well, they did. Amazon will still give you credit if that person purchases, something within.

I think it’s the next 24 hours it could be 48 hours, but if that person, purchases other things and start shopping, you get a commission on all of it because you’re the one that brought them to the site. So that’s pretty cool now. Another place that you can go is Clickbank. Clickbank has everything? Let’s get rid of that page? Okay, when you go in, you can look under featured products or you can look under over here on the left different categories.

So let’s go under health and fitness, that’s always an easy one. You can go under health and fitness and look for products that you might want to sell, maybe you’re really into health and fitness. You might be into cooking recipes things like that, and you want to help people to become the best version of themselves that they can. So you just start again a website or sales funnel, and you start promoting content that is related to that and then start offering different products.

Now, I’m talking about a lot of things like email, marketing, content things that you’re like whoa whoa whoa. All of that is in that 30-day training, so it explains it there. Is it an educational period to this? You can’t just jump in if you don’t know anything and start making lots of money. You have to learn. So I’m not going to lie to you it like. Oh, my gosh you’re, going to make money by tomorrow.

You’re not you have to learn how to do it, but let’s go into health and fitness down here and there’s all kinds: there’s diet and weight loss exercise. Fitness mental health, beauty, so there’s all these different areas, you can go into, let’s go into diet and weight loss, and so here there will be all kinds of different products that you can sign up for as an affiliate okay. Under there, oh, they went in again.

Okay, so, anyway, let me look here: let’s go up here to their menu. There we go, we want to be in their affiliate market place, that’s where we want to be the bright things weren’t popping up for me: okay, here’s the categories! This is what I was looking for this page sorry about that all right: let’s go back down to health and fitness and it will bring up some different products that you can promote.

If you choose now there also, when you look at the product, one of the things you want to look at is this gravity score, see that GRA V right here, the higher that that grab a score is the more that that products been selling. It’s been very popular, see this one flat belly fix flat belly fix, it has a 209 I remember coming in here, and it only had like a hundred and it keeps going up. But this is interesting.

The Cinderella solution has bypassed it’s. Both of them are reasonable prices – thirty, nine dollars, thirty three dollars and you’ll make a commission off of that. So in what this person will do, when you go in there, they will provide you with all the information that you need to sell the product. They’ll give you copyright they’ll, give you pictures they’ll, give you articles everybody’s, different and they’ll.

Say here: go sell my product because it’s a win-win situation. The person getting the product product wins because you help solve a problem. You get a commission for bringing it to their attention, so you’re, happy and the the seller is happy because you’re selling the product for them. So it’s it’s a really good thing for all three of you, it’s win-win-win! So that’s another place that you can go.

You can also go to JV zoo, JV zoo, I’m not going to go inside, but JV zoo sells digital products, so everybody’s always trying to learn something so go in there and you can find different. Somebody might have a whole program on having the right mindset for health and fitness, and you can promote that as well. Now the key is, if you decide to get into affiliate marketing, you want to stay within a certain niche, which means you keep hearing me say: health and fitness, health and fitness.

Everything has to be related. You don’t want to just go willy-nilly and go. Oh. Here’s a bunch of products from Amazon, because people want to start to see you as an expert and so they’re going to say wow. She really knows her stuff. She really knows about health and fitness, I’m going to trust her when she starts promoting and suggesting this other product and that’s what starts to happen. They get to know you like you and trust you and that’s when they buy from you.

Here’s another cool affiliate program. I actually offered it on in one of the other articles, but you can become a travel agent affiliate, so you can go into Expedia as an example and work for them as the affiliate promote their vacation. They might say: hey we’re, really trying to promote this occasion to roam and here’s all the stuff. Can you go out put this on your blog put this on your website, wherever whatever platform you’re using or your sales funnel and you’ll, learn how to do that in that 30-day training you promote it and bring people in, and when you sell it, you get a Commission, so I think I just recently have seen that, but travel agents affiliate program that would be so much fun, especially if you’d like to travel now some people, let me get rid of that there – some people like to create their own courses, it’s called digital course.

Digital marketing and they will go out and create their own courses and sell them. Okay, where does affiliate marketing come in you as an affiliate? Marketer can go in and sell those courses for them, so that may be what you’re interested in is helping people become an affiliate, marketer and selling courses for other affiliate, other marketers other people who build courses. So this one is Kevin David.

He last year, I think, brought in ten million dollars, he’s really big. He is an affiliate marketer, but he also makes his own courses, so he sells his own courses and then he has affiliates come in and sell them for him and a lot of times. I think his are 25 percent, most people who make courses offer 50 percent, so I don’t know why his are so low. I just pulled him up because he’s pretty popular, but most people will offer you 50 %.

Another place that you can start if you would like to become an affiliate. Clickfunnels has an affiliate program, they’re huge, it’s a software platform where people make sales funnels and again that’s where you can learn in that 30 days, how to do it, but they also have an affiliate program. So all the different programs and training that they offer, which are down here at the bottom – let’s see, what do we promote? They promote click funnels itself.

So when people sign up for click funnels, you as an affiliate would make 40 % off that sale. They have lots of different training that they offer dot books that they offer experts secant seekers, some secrets. Here’s one here funnel script, software I think it sells. For around 500, you make 40 percent, so here’s another one freelancer secrets and create your lap type life. This is a lot of training that is being sold and I think it sells out people pay $ 49 a month to stay in that group, and then you make a commission off of that to get people to join that group.

So that’s pretty cool. A lot of people are doing that they’re, making membership groups for people to sign up, for and in this case, Julia choice and she actually has affiliate, sell her membership so that they can come in for $ 49 a month. So that’s pretty cool! You can learn how to do that. I will put the link below it’s called bootcamp affiliate bootcamp, but you if you want to go in there and play around and look around the the bee and the bootcamp is free.

It’s there’s no charge for you to become an affiliate and for you to take advantage of the training to be in that bootcamp and this particular bootcamp even offers you a car. If you get a hundred Philly’its to sign up for click funnels, they give you a payment for car every month. So when you see people saying I’ve won a car, that’s how they did it by getting customers into the click funnels account.

Alright, and basically I told you at the beginning of the article, how do I promote myself? You have to have a sales funnel or a web page. You have to have a storefront. I say this in every single article. You can’t just go on Facebook and try to sell things. That’s called spamming. People don’t want. You know that yourself. When people start Facebook messaging you and popping things up all over the internet.

You you pretty much, that’s annoying! You you get away from them, but you might find somebody. This is Heather Peterson, Rachel, Peterson and Rachel does a lot of social media management. She runs an agency for social media management, so you may have an affiliate program. Let’s say you get into affiliate marketing and you want to be on several platforms. Well, it’s very difficult to find the time to be on all those platforms.

It’s actually not suggested that you do that, but maybe you’re getting to the point where you’ve been doing this for a while you’re on five or six different platforms. Well, you would hire someone like her they’ll go in and actually manage those platforms for you. But how does she promote herself she’s got a article here called how to get comfortable on camera. That has nothing to do with her business, but it does have something to do with YouTube.

A lot of people that are in social media marketing want to be comfortable on camera. They want to be comfortable, doing lives and things so she’s, providing them some content. Now, if you go down here under her article, where it says more, this is where people click and they find out what else she has to offer. So here she says, get my free resources for social media tips right right here and you can click right there.

You can also go down and she might say, offer some other things. Um down here, get her free sheet cheat sheet how’d. It go viral on purpose, so there’s all kinds of different things that you can sign up for and that’s how she’s promoting herself once you get that free cheat sheet, she’s going to say. Oh now, I might offer you some training that I have and things like that. So that’s how it works. You don’t really go out there and blast what you have you kind of offer some free content and then offer things below that.

So I I know that was a lot I got wordy. I tried to go fast. I know I don’t like to say if you’re still here. Thank you by the way. I truly want to. Thank you. I didn’t mean to make that such a long article, but I really I really really want to give you the resources that you need and some basic information. Let you know what it takes to get into affiliate marketing and, like I said, there’s a playlist below there’s the bootcamp and the 30 day training.

If you want to dig in and really start to see what it takes to start building your business, all right, we’ll stop there and again. Thank you for hanging in there to the end here.

Website design packages are a great way to improve your digital marketing image.

Are you going to be the next big Instagram celebrity, or do you want to become a youtuber? These are both examples of places. You can build influence, but they are extremely different in the way that they work. Let’s start out by taking a look at the options and then define how to best choose from those here are the best options for influencers run, a blog blog on other platforms. Like medium calm or Quora, calm post to Instagram create a youtube content, create a Facebook page, create a Twitter account post.

The synapse at use. Vine use twitch use tumblr of all these options. I highly recommend one of the following 3 foremost: influencers instagram youtube personal self, hosted blog. While you can build social influence on any of the platforms mentioned. Those three will lend themselves best to the process. That’s because they allow you to post in a more personal manner, using your own name and in a way that is highly discoverable for strangers.

If you try to create an influence with a Facebook page, for example, then people won’t know to find you unless they actively look or see your post shared by a friend. Twitter is also great for letting people to get to know you in this manner, but it doesn’t allow you to post large amounts of content, limiting your influence, don’t get it mistaken. You should be on all these platforms, ideally, and they all have benefits, but you should also focus on one main one, and that should be one of those three which one of the three should you pick well, that comes down to a few factors.

Firstly, you should pick the platform that is best fit for your kind of content. You want to create great at photography, then Instagram is a good pic. Prefer writing go for a blog. You should also consider your target audience and where they are likely to spend time. Look at the demographics of each platform, along with the kind of content that typically goes there. These three strategies are for you. Welcome to this article, I’m very excited you made it here. My name is Vince Reed and in this article I’m going to be sharing with you how to get Instagram followers to convert into sales on complete autopilot, I’m going to be sharing with you the three fastest ways to do it.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_EUeQfVT9JI

If you implement these three methods, you will get results, you will get followers who essentially will convert into leads and enter sales. Now, for those of you who are really ambitious and you want to get results ten times faster, I have a special bonus for you that I’m going to share with you at the end, which is going to teach you how to supercharge the three strategies that I’m Going to be teaching you in this article now for those of you who have no idea who I am my name is Vince Reed, I’m the founder of several marketing companies.

My company Internet traffic factory, consists of my digital advertising agency set up my ads. My marketing company, I leaders, which hosts all of my marketing courses and products and my live event – company Internet traffic live. We have an annual event each and every year where people come from all over the world to learn the latest lead generation and marketing strategies. I’m also the author of the book internet traffic and leads so make sure you get your copy on Amazon.

Now, for those of you who are basically here, you want to know how to get Instagram followers and you want to know how to convert those followers into sales on autopilot. I’m going to be sharing that with you in this article, but I want you to understand why I decided to make this article. You see, I see so many people they get caught up in pretty much the hype of social media and they want to get quote-unquote instagram famous right now.

I know a lot of people that have literally hundreds of thousands of followers and they’re, not making any money. So if all you care about is just getting famous on, Instagram then keep doing what you’re doing, but if you want to make money on Instagram, this is definitely the article for you. I want to make sure you stay focused and you don’t fall victim to the trap that I see a lot of my students who come to me after basically failing on Instagram saying: oh, I don’t have all these followers.

They don’t like my content. They don’t become leads and they never buy my products. Why is that happening? So that’s why I’m making this article so make sure you take lots of notes all right, so let’s go ahead and dive right into it now. The first thing you want to do is you want to run ads on social media on all platforms. You know, to be honest, you want to be running ads, but specifically on Instagram.

You want to be running ads and I like to run article ads because one you can make your article ads one minute long and it captures the attention of your followers. Now I actually made a article that teaches you how to run article ads on Instagram. So I’m going to put up a little link that you can click on to basically read that article that goes and more depth specifically on article ads, but I want you to do article ads because one it’s a minute long.

You can capture and engage your audience and obviously you know there’s no other distractions on Instagram. So, for example, if someone’s reading your content on, let’s say Facebook or another platform, typically other things are popping up and there’s a lot of distractions where it’s on Instagram. The only place they can see your content is through the Instagram app. Most people aren’t reading it on a desktop computer, so you can gather the information a lot better and essentially the attention of the end user, which is your follower.

The second thing you want to start doing is running stories and story ads on Instagram, so I also did a article that teaches you how to actually do stories on Instagram and run ads inside of stories. Okay. This is another way to basically be in front of people on Instagram, specifically your followers and get them to become basically a follower and then obviously a lead and then obviously, at that point, convert them into a buyer and into a sale.

So you want to be running article ads that are a minute long and then you want to be running story ads that are essentially 15 seconds. Long and again, I have a article that I’m going to link right now that you could click on that, teaches you how to actually run ads inside of stories now, the third part and probably the most important aspect of the entire training. I’m sharing with you right now is to understand that you want to be targeting your engaged followers, alright, so the third step, in terms of when you’re reading the ads, what most people do is they focus basically solely on targeting cold traffic and cold traffic? Are people who have no idea who you are the people that have the best success of the people that are targeting their followers? So, for example, okay, you’re, probably on you, know, YouTube and different social media sites looking for ways to get more followers right, so you’re, using all these strategies, you’re doing all these things to get more followers just to get more followers or what’s the purpose of the Follower to get them to become a leader in an opposite about your products, all right, so what you want to be doing is with your article ads and with your story ads.

You want to be targeting those individuals who are already following your page, because you’re doing so much work to basically get them as a follower in the first place. So the question is: how do you actually do it well, the way you do it is by setting up custom audiences now again in both articles clips that I made basically teaching you how to do article ads and how to do story is I teach you how To basically do that, but one thing I did not show you how to do is to create custom audiences and that’s what I want to teach you to do now.

Now, what is a custom audience a custom audience is basically you being able to gather information of anybody. That’s engaged with your page on Instagram or any of your articles and then advertise to those individuals again. So essentially, if you’ve ever clicked on an ad or read the article before, and then you keep seeing that person everywhere, that you go okay, that person is retargeting, you they’re remarketing, you and they’re doing it by setting up custom audiences now custom audiences are set up Inside of actually Facebook ads that are run on Instagram or actually created inside of Facebook, Facebook owns Instagram.

So the way that you do it is you create a custom audience and you do that by setting it up inside of your ads manager, so you’re going to click on ads manager, then you’re going to click on the audience, tab you’re going to see a tab. It looks just like this and you’re simply going to click on the custom audience button. Alright. Now, when you come to the custom audience button, you’re going to come to a page that looks like this, it’s going to give you several options: customer fire website, traffic, app activity, offline activity and you’re going to see a little tab that says engagement and, as you Can see, it says, create a list of people who engage with your content on Facebook or Instagram alright, and this is where we’re going to live.

This is how we’re going to get those individuals who are connecting with us on Instagram to basically become a lead and then obviously to buy your products and services. So when you click on that button, it’s going to take you to this page where it says. Basically, you know: what do you want to do to basic with the audience you want to set up a article audience, a lead form, a full screen, experience Facebook page and you can see down there.

It says Instagram business profile, so this is where you’re going to live you’re going to click on this button, as you can see, underneath that it says critter list of people who have interacted with your Instagram business profile right. So when you click on that it’ll take you to this page now. What you’re going to do is you’re going to select your Instagram handles, you can see. Mine is venturi, live so again.

If you’re reading this make sure you follow me on Instagram. As you can see below, you have the ability to create an audience in a variety of different ways, so you can set up an audience of anyone. Who’s visited your business profile, people who have engaged with any post or add people who sent a message to your business profile and people who saved any post or ad. As you can see on the top everyone who’s engaged with your business, so they don’t basically be taking everything, that’s happened and putting it into one audience and allowing you to continue to advertise to those individuals again and again and again, all right now.

What you’re doing is you’re setting this up so now you’re marketing, to what I like to say: warm traffic, a warm audience, people that already know who you are alright. So this is how you set up the audience. So once you set up this audience, it’ll be a saved audience. So then, when you go to setup your ad, which, by the way, if you readed my article and teaching you how to run ads on Instagram, okay, you basically will use this custom audience.

As a group in which you’re targeting for your next or your future ads, if that makes sense alright, so you basically would be targeting individuals who are actually engaging with your page. So now all of the strategies you’re using to gain followers and to get people to connect with you on Instagram. Now you can go back in and market specifically to those individuals, and this is why it is important to build a big follower list on on social media, but it’s even more important for you to be advertising directly to them.

Alright. So if you’re getting value, do me a favor, be sure to LIKE comment and if you’re reading this on youtube be sure to subscribe to this page release all types of content. Just like this, I’m going to be going to a special bonus, because I want to teach you how to supercharge everything that I’m sharing with you right now. Now here’s the deal in the comment area comment. Let me know if you got valuing more importantly comment.

Let me know if you have any questions or any other topics on marketing or advertising, and I definitely take those notes down and I make future articles. So if you have a question any type of marketing tactic or strategy, that’s where you can basically comment below I’ll check that out and make sure to make a future article for you there alright now in terms of converting your followers into leads it into sales.

You want to give away something of value for free all right, so free giveaways are way for you to basically convert people who are following you into leads all right and what you want to do. You want to run again those ads targeting your followers. You want to give away something for free, so let me give you some tips to 10x. Your results all right, it’s all about the pre frame, all right. So, for example, what I highly encourage you to do is go back and read all of my articles that I’ve made about Instagram.

It will basically bring all of this together together, so the pre frame is basically when you’re putting out content. What is the kind of content that you’re putting out on your Instagram page? It should be pre framing the additional offer that you’re going to offer them. So, for example, you know what I like to do is just provide content like you’re. Looking at right now give you value, and then I can mark it a different free giveaway that allows you to get more information on a specific topic, so let’s say you’re basically doing something in the jewelry space like you make jewelry and you sell it on Amazon.

Alright, so what you’d want to do is maybe make make several articles of like where you get the material, and you know you know how you do it right and how you actually make the jewelry. Those would be the pre frame article, so that would be the kind of content I’ll be basically shooting pictures of the jewelry and I’d be putting it out on Instagram right. So then turn that would be how I’m pre framing my audience.

Alright. So what I want to do is I want to make sure my giveaway as immediate value, so the ad that I would run when I’m targeting my engaged audience would be basically showing them how I basically make this jewelry and turning it into a business, and I’m Going to give you my ten point checklist of turning it into a business, so, for example, the pre frame would be images and pictures and content about the jewelry or what it is that I’m doing, and then the giveaway could be how I turn this jewelry or How I make it and turn it into a business? Here’s my ten point checklist all right.

So that’s how I can turn those followers who are following my page into actual subscribers, and this is how it would be immediate value now. What you want to always do is over deliver. I see a lot of people, they just want to get someone’s email address and they give very little information or value in return. You have to understand your email address or someone giving you their email address. Is them giving you you know their personal information and if you don’t believe me, just go outside and walk up to a stranger and ask them for their email address? Okay, it’s definitely something personal.

So, if you’re going to ask someone for their email address, make sure you’re giving them a ton of value in return. The last thing I would tell you this is a tip is to speak to one person, especially if you’re remarketing to your engaged audience and what I mean by that is try not to speak generalities if you notice, I’m speaking directly to you right, I’m talking to One person and that’s whoever is reading this article.

Okay, I see some people they go. You know they make it as if they’re talking they’re thousands of people and it doesn’t feel personal so when – and this is specifically on the advertising side. So, for example, let’s say that I was giving you a free giveaway on the whole jewelry thing and how to turn your jewelry, what you’re making in terms of jewelry into a business, I would say, hey what’s going on first, I want to commend you on.

You know engaging with my page and reading all of my content in terms of the jewelry that I make and that’s why I wanted to make this free free offer for you and share with you how I actually turn my jewelry into a business all right.
