Usually your logo works great or maybe, if it’s your personal brand use a great headshot of yourself and then take that cover photo to really showcase your Products or your services and then from there make Sure all your information is up to date And that Is really important? Your hours, your website, Your phone number 100 % And make sure that lines up with your Google And your Yelp listings too Right I went into a coffee shop recently I Was in northern California, You drink a lot of coffee, ( laughing ), It’s true And the cashier was looking At me, like I don’t know like, maybe she wanted to rush me and I’m thinking they’re Open for two more hours, what’s the deal, ( laughing ) Sure enough, they were Closing in five minutes I go, but your Facebook says and I wanted to Go into my spiel like this, but I saved it got a quick Coffee to go fortunately, but that’s the whole point.

I left with a customer experience that wasn’t as ideal And then onto probably one of the largest most impactful components: content Right, always preach Quality over quantity Yeah, so you definitely Want to make sure you vary your content, So mix it up. You know you don’t Wan na become predictable; Okay, And you also don’t want to turn into just a business always talking about yourself right. It becomes so salesy.

When it’s always about me, me me So salesy me me me: yeah, Buy this, buy that Yeah sell, sell, sell; Rather you want to Tell tell tell Exactly ( laughing ) Throw something out there. That’s entertaining I mean social media is escapism. Oh yeah, Throw in a good laugh But also educate me, So I always tell my friends: That I follow my dentist on Facebook and they look At me, like I’m crazy, Why right What And it’s because my dentist Shares really educational tips and tricks like how to whiten my teeth without spending hundreds of dollars.

I saw also my yoga studio was just giving a friendly Reminder to stretch how to maintain the zen, which Is really important in life? Absolutely Also, sharing testimonials that you’ve already Received on Yelp and Google and turning it into a Facebook post Right repurpose that content Take that review. Let’s Say it went on about your your ice cream, you’re an ice cream shop, And the review goes on about How you have the best flavors, but the ultimate flavor Is definitely rocky road, Absolutely Yeah, it’s the best Hands down.

So you have that review that the customer went on About your rocky road ice cream and then use Canva or Something and in the background of that review and select A picture of the rocky road on a nice ice cream cone. Definitely I would even a minute is good and also doing behind the scenes footage. That’s one of my favorite things about following local businesses is like well, I wan na know how This all comes together And showcase your staff And also repurpose anything your customers take User generated content And I think what gets A lot of people hung up on, creating article is, maybe they don’t have a production set like we do right, (, laughing ) And that’s okay.

Our smart phones are Pretty darn good right, Yeah they’re, pretty smart, Take a article with your phone and even it doesn’t have To be the best quality Go behind the scenes. People like that story like to see the other side of things, and it really helps them. Relate to who you are as a business owner You’re, not just some faceless company. So next up we have these groups. Can you tell us a little Bit about what the Facebook groups are and how I can potentially leverage It as a business owner Yeah, so definitely Encourage you to pay attention to other like-minded Businesses, but also groups to piggy back off the Engagement, you already have, I will say, content is Where you wan na spend most of your time, but Groups can be an advantage to getting your business More exposure for sure, So next up we have advertising.

What do we do with the Paid advertising aspect Yeah, so it’s no secret. Facebook has gone on Record to say organic reach is on ( whistling ) the decline Don’t give up on it. Organic content is still Alive and well and breathing, but I think Facebook posts that you boost has a lot of potential and you Can reach a targeted audience, which is one of favorite things about it? You can start off with like five bucks and you can get in front Of a specific demographic age group, zip codes and That way, you know your post is going to reach the right people And with I would kinda Look at the post that maybe have done the best And then boost those and get those that reach out.

That’s a really good point. Thank you for bringing that up. It’s usually ( laughing ) Wait you’re the expert ( laughing ) I dabble So with Facebook. It’s you wan na go ahead and let the post that you’re Doing hang out organically for a little bit, Let it chill see how it Does garner some reach Now once it garners some Reach then boost it, That’s what we found to work best While a lot of people. I Speak to think, there’s no way to track this to ROI.

That’s a total myth. You can actually go ahead and look at it’s called your insights tab and it breaks down everything. You know what your audience is liking engaging with. Are they Clicking on the links, what time of day they’re doing this, and when you look at all of that and really understand it, the insights you can truly be informed about. Where do I go from here right Like? Where do I go from When it comes to which days work best to post, what Time of day works best Does my audience prefer The entertaining posts more than the educational And on which days And from there you can truly Come up with a great strategy, What happens if I’m not Getting maybe the engagement that I want? Are there any like, like Just great pro tips or boosts that I can do to help me.

Just skyrocket and get in front of those people Yes, Contests: Okay, how so So recently, I saw this cafe that had a special music guest coming in and they encouraged their Audience on the Facebook post, which is like promoting the music, Okay, yeah Comment below and tag a friend and then they’re going to do a random drawing, and it’s like two free Tickets to the show That quick little tag, A friend now becomes just free advertisement for you and it’s costing you a couple tickets or maybe a free, drink or free burger.

Exactly Or whatever you do, You could also ask a question: What is your “ go, to” order when You come into our restaurant Or, what’s you favorite thing on the menu and your favorite person to dine with, And so it’s your customers Spreading word of mouth about what’s great to eat So on Twitter and Instagram Hashtags are super relevant, but I don’t always see It as often on Facebook Are they a thing.

Absolutely I mean here’s the thing when it comes to using hashtags Whether it’s on Twitter or Instagram or Facebook, Or if you’re just posting either way you got ta monitor it, because it’s going to be Different for each business, It doesn’t hurt to use Them just be mindful and use relevant, hashtags Perfect and probably only one or two Don’t go overboard. I’Ve got you know a little over 28,000 followers right now and then, if we come down, I’ve got this post up here at the top, because when somebody new comes to my Facebook page, I want a little bit of an intro a little bit like telling them Who I am and what I do, And you can kind of see down here: Hey, here’s, some essential tools and things to know.

There’S a software or some trainings, Here’s some Facebook groups or some different things, and so Basically, if someone’s brand new, but they see your Facebook page, they can come here and get to learn a lot about you now. They’Ve got an About section all that stuff, But also it’s sometimes nice, to have this as your first post, you guys can see here. I’Ve got about two hundred twenty-five likes.

I’Ve got tons of comments down here That you know people are just inter engaging with me. Alright, so let’s come over here to the main Facebook part, I’m going to show you guys exactly how to Create your Facebook page if you’re, starting completely from scratch for like Jason, have a personal profile, But I don’t know how to create the business page. Let’S walk you through how to do that. Alright, so we’re going to Do is click up here on this down arrow in the top right and we are going to go to a create page okay.

So now we can go through, and this is really easy. Facebook’S made it super easy for us, They’re going to say: hey: Do you want to do a local business or place a public figure entertainment? What do you want? I would recommend a public figure because you want to go brand yourself Or if you have a local business or a place, then you can go through and do that as well. But I’m going to stick with a public figure right now.

We’Re going to Do is choose a category, So we just come down here. We choose What best fits our. So we can do you know public figure. We can do entrepreneur, which I believe that’s what I did Blog or chef coach, whatever you guys want to do so, let’s just stay well Just to keep it kind of generic or whatever We’ll just say, public figure right here, Okay, and as far as the name, I like to you, I, like I just used my own name, so I just use Jason Wardrop But let’s say you’re like in real estate.

For example, You might want to say Jason Wardrop And then you know Dallas realtor or Park City realtor like wherever you are located and then Realtors. So people know. Okay, like I know what Jason were drops page is all about. Okay, So we’ll say: Jason, Wardrop and then we’ll say We’ll go with Dallas Realtor right there, okay, because then, when they see like your posts on the news feed, They know like what you’re all about all right.

So now We’re just going to hit get started or you could just leave it your name guys what it’s honestly up to you, your preference. Okay, now We’re going to go through, says upload a profile picture. Okay! Now I think I’ve got one. I’Ve got one right here, so just make this easy. You can just go through Upload your picture now. One tip right Here is whatever picture you use on Like Twitter or Instagram, or any of those other ones make sure you guys use the same picture Because then it kind of like brand, you and people kind of recognize that profile picture mutant.

If you use it a different picture on Every single social platform, it really gets hard to keep it consistent and make sure it’s like a clear head shot. Alright, Nothing like with With you with, like you know, in the background or like that, your dog And then they like people can’t really tell it is people want to see who you are especially on your business, Facebook page Right. You can keep that stuff for your personal profile.

Help maybe like weird pic of you know something else, But with this you want to have a clear head: shot right: Okay, upload a cover photo me to show you guys how to do this here in a second. So we’re just going to skip this for right now and then this will take us to the next step. So we’ve got initially it says now. You can invite your friends guys, And this is an awesome, easy way to go through anything, Just kind of walk you through.

Okay: Here’s how you make your first post, which is fairly simple, and you guys probably ought to know how to do that. Alright, So what you can do now – and you don’t have to invite all of your friends, But you can maybe invite some family members, some people that you know would be interested in you and your business. But you just coming over here and just hit, invite on all these k. Now, I’m not going to invite these people, because This is obviously a demo Facebook page to go through and help.

You learn some of these different aspects, But this is an easy way to go: get your first 100 likes on Facebook without having to spend any money on Facebook ads or anything else right now. What I want to do is show you guys how to change this cover photo right here and how to make one really easily. So what we’re going to do is use a free tool, it’s called canva Canv a.Com, and then you can it’s really cool guys.

Cuz. You can go through. This is create a design, We click on more right here and they have all the dimensions already pre-built for you. So if you want to do like a youtube thumbnail or a Facebook ad Facebook, post, Instagram post, you got all these different options. So if we want to come down here, social media, an email, headers, okay, You got a Facebook event cover YouTube. Thumbnail. You’Ve got all these different one.

Facebook cover This is the one that we’re going to want to use right here. Cuz, the Facebook event Cover is a little bit different than the Facebook page cover right. So we’re going to want to use this one right here so we’ll do. Is click on this and They’ve got some pre-built designs right here, for you guys that really make it pretty cool, So you can kind of come in here. You know: choose these different ones.

They’Ve got a ton of options. They have a few options that I think costs a little bit money, But a lot of these you can honestly go through and use without spending any money. Okay, so it’s really pretty cool. You can just you guys could see this over here on the left. There’S tons and tons of different options and then let’s say we want. Let’S say we want this one right here: Okay, so we can say We’ll, say: Jason, Wardrop, Realty, we’ll stick with that theme right here, okay and they’ll say like Dallas, Realtor.

Okay, then, what we could do is, and if you guys look over here, one thing I tend to do like I added my my picture right here. It’S kind of goofy picture, but I just kind of leave This is. I don’t really need My picture there, because I’ve got a picture of myself right over here on the side. Okay, So what am I do since it’s real estate? I think I’ve got some cool real estate images uploaded over here.

So I might come over here and throw that in there and now you got a nice-looking Cover phone right there, okay! So now, if we hit download Go over here download This, you guys like that, took me literally what 20 seconds to go through and do that. Put my name on there put like hey, I’m a dallas realtor which guys I’m not by the way. Just this is demo right, all right, so that downloaded. So, let’s come back over here to our page.

All we got to do is click on add a cover as cool. You can actually add a little article on here as well, okay, but for this one Just keep it easy, We’re just going to add an image at first, So we’re just going to go: hey upload, a photo or a article, and then this is the one I Believe yep, That’s one We just created so now you guys can see. This is already starting to look a lot more professional And really nice and we haven’t spent any money right like you’re.

Getting your first hundred likes by inviting your friends here. You’Ve got a really nice background image back. Facebook cover photo using canva, canv a.Com. We’Ve got our profile picture right here and guys if I I’m in real estate, if I’m working with high-end real estate, I Probably shouldn’t use a picture of me in a hoodie right. You probably want to have a shirt and a tie like looking nice. You Want to fit the brand fit the you know, whatever you’re going after okay.

So now what we can do is come down here. It says create a username for your page Okay. Now This is really cool because, like see how says facebook.Com four slash, Jason, wardrobe, realtor and then a huge long number, we can actually make it. So it’s a lot easier for people to search so we say create a Username for your page, so we could say: Jason, Wardrop, Dallas realtor. Something like that Cana says hey check and you know it’s good to go.

So we hit crate username and Now the cool thing is is look, we could say hey. These are some of the easy links that people could go to. You could say: hey at the username jason wardrobe, Dallas, realtor Facebook.Com or we could even say facebook.Com for Jason. Wardrop Dallas Realtor, so we just use that URL right there. Now It should go to the page. We just crazy right see this. Oh that’s! That’S right here at this page, Okay.

So now what I want to do is go through and kind of, maybe like make some a few other tweaks here. So I’ve got this paid this post right here at the top, like I showed you guys, So you want to go through and he’d do a little bit of an about you Section you can see here what I did was like: hey guys, my name’s Jason port Drop, I’m your real estate mortgage broker, business growth, automation guy, I’m awesome an entrepreneur.

I kind of tell a little bit about me and I say: hey Here’s your next step. Like my page, You can jump on my free training comment and introduce yourself below, and You can look forward to do some articles and different things so like go through and customize it to your your business. You can say: hey, there’s a link to my website Message me on Facebook of you, We’re looking to buy or sell a home and just have a few of those different intros there Right.

So what I’m going to Do is I’m just going to make this quicker for this article, I’m going to go through and upload the photo, So my same profile picture photo here. Okay, just so like it creates that consistent branding And I’m going to throw in this. All this copy and paste text you guys can go to my Facebook page check it out, See I’ll, throw a link down in the description, so you guys can have that so Anyway, and then I’m just going to hit publish now You don’t want to hit, publish And just leave it at that because then what happens is anytime.

You make another post, It’s just going to go down below alright. So what I’m going to do Is click on these three dots right here And I’m going to say: hey pinned this to the top of the page right. So now, if you come back over here to this one, like I did this July 27th of 2016 right now, It’s 2018, and so I like that normally would be like stacked way down in my feed. But what I’ve done is I’ve post this at the very top, so anyone new is going to come in and see this right So anyway, guys.

These are some of the basic main things to get your facebook cover photo. Looking nice, your Facebook profile, your top post, Getting your custom username, Inviting your friends and get your first 100 likes or so, and now let me just show you guys really quick, this 100 % Free tool that you guys can have that it’s got you guys can Set the schedule to pulse to your Facebook page your Facebook profile, any groups You’re a member of or even Twitter and LinkedIn all at the same time, And we have some pre-built content for you guys.

How to Use Facebook for Your Online Business

What’S up, How are ya Good, No surprise we’re going to Dive into Facebook today The book face But I also ( laughing ) The face book. It is your favorite right, It is my favorite No well, I don’t like To choose favorites So we’re talking about Facebook for your business – Maybe I just have a personal page and I’ve decided – maybe it’s Time to create a business page for my business right, What are kind of the First, steps that I need to really think about Well you’re, already, Off to a great start, You wan na go to a business page And that’s really important.

Because then, you get the ability to track metrics and analytics So absolutely business. Page over personal page And then from there You wan na make sure you set up your profile. Get that profile photo.

It really brings it to life. For those of you that don’t know, Canva is a free website that Has all sorts of templates and kits and graphics For literally all things that you could possibly create Like social media templates, Facebook headers all that Good stuff and it’s free – I use it pretty religiously, Also article, So I’m a huge advocate, Of article I love article Just keep it on the shorter Side, attention spans are short Seems like under two minutes: Or so under three minutes Yeah.

Just a few Yeah, you don’t need to go overboard.

This has been The Journey. Thank you. So much for reading Make sure to like and comment. Below subscribe to know when our next articles are coming atcha and we are signing off

Finally, don’t Forget to check out the description below, which is why I put additional Notes and links I refer to in this tutorial if you’re ready, let’s jump Right in step number one setting up your page head over to facebook.Com before we Start you need to understand, you can’t create a business page on Facebook. Unless you have a personal Facebook account attached to it, this is because Facebook requires every business page to have at least one administrator to Manage the page – and this is only feasible by tying a facebook business – Page with a personal account and before you ask anyone seeing your business page, Will not be able to trace it back to your personal profile, as they are two Separate entities, so you can relax If you haven’t, got a Facebook account yet Create one, it only takes a couple of minutes.

If you already have an account. Just login to your profile, once you’ve logged in in the top blue ribbon click On the create link and select the page option, this will bring you to a screen. Where you will be given the choice of creating your page between two Categories, the first category is called business or Brand, you should select this category if you are a business of any size or type That sells services or product, If you are a public figure, a musician, a sports Team, a church group or any kind of organization you should select the Second option: community or public figure, since this tutorial is mainly targeted, At local business owners, let’s choose business or brand.

The next step is Choosing a name for your page, what you want to do here is to use your business Name today, I’m going to create a page for a fictitious hairdresser that I’m Going to call Planet hairdressing, the next thing you need to do is to pick the Right business category that best represent your business just start: Typing what you think the catering should be and select the appropriate one.

Based on the suggestions, add the address where your business is located: the phone Number is optional, so it’s up to you, but my recommendation would be to add it. Then click Next, you will then be asked to add a profile picture and a cover. Photo skip these steps for now. Your page is now set up and live on Facebook for Everyone to see at this stage it looks very bare and doesn’t really reflect Your business at all, that’s why I would recommend to unpublish it until we have Finished, creating it just go to settings in the general tab.

Choose page Visibility: click on edit select, page, unpublished and click Save select the Reason why you want to unpublish your page click on next. Then click on Unpublish close the dialog box, then, on the top left hand, side click Back on the page link, which will take you back to your newly created page time to move on to step number two Branding your page, the first thing we’re going to do is add a profile picture to Your page, your profile picture, will appear on every post or comments that You make across Facebook using your facebook business page.

So that’s why It’S a good idea to add your logo in there. The ideal size is currently at 360. Pixels by 360 pixels, if you do not have any logo available but yet want to make Your page look as professional as possible. Here is a little tip. You can Use head over to a website called canva.Com and log in using your Facebook Account once logged in, on the left, hand, side, menu, click on create a design and Choose the custom dimension option in the fields set the dimensions to be 360 And 360, so it fits the profile picture of your Facebook page perfectly and Choose px which stands for pixels, then click on create a design.

This will take You to a design area where you can start making your logo by simply dragging and Dropping elements directly on the canvas I personally love canva.Com As a tool and use it regularly because you can design pretty much anything very Easily, using their free pre-made templates and images Using the search Box look for something in relation to your line of business. In this instance, I Need a logo for my hairdressing salon, so I’m going to type hair as you can see.

They are quite a few options to choose from. I want something simple, so I am Going to go for this one here, just by clicking on it, Once on my work area, I can modify the elements by just clicking on them here. I Just want to modify the background from black to orange. To do this, I just need To click on the background and modify the color using the palette accessible At the top, each element can be modified in the same way, including the copy, so You can really craft something unique for your business Once you’re done.

Creating your profile picture click on the publish button on the top Right hand, side and download it on your computer. All you need to do now is load Your profile picture on your Facebook page just go back to your Facebook page And hover on the profile picture, you should see an update option appearing Click on it and select the upload photo option. Fetch your newly created logo, From where you saved it on your computer, add a description to it and click Save time to add a cover to our page.

Let’S Follow the same process and go back to canva.Com This time we don’t even need to specify the dimension, because canva has already Set this up as a default design in its library, just click on create a design. And search for facebook cover once again choose something in relation to your Business and modify according to your needs, Try keeping the same colors and font, so it looks consistent with your profile.

Picture within canva, you can also add images which makes your work even more. Professional once you’re done go back to your Facebook, page click. On the add a Cover button load, your facebook cover you just created in canva and save it. Just like your profile picture for those of you who don’t want to use Canva and need to know the exact dimensions of the cover photo. They are 820 pixels by 312 pixels.

Our page is now looking a lot better and Nicely fits with our brand last step before we move on to our next step. If you click on your Facebook cover, you can add a description of the image tag. Some people who are in it add a link to your site and write comments. This can be Particularly useful when people decide to share your cover, as it will give you An opportunity to direct people to your website or simply give them more Information step 3 add a call to action button to your page on every Facebook.

Page there is an option to add a call to action button located right below your Cover photo, this is a great opportunity to encourage your visitors to take Action such as visiting your website make a booking learn more about your Business and overall, help generate more leads and in return, increase sales to Select the type of call to action you want to add just click on add a button. You should see a list of categories you can choose from within each category.

You Have several options available Browse through the various categories and Select the most appropriate one for your business. In my example, I want people to Call the salon directly to book a hair appointment, so I am going to choose the Contact us category and the call now option then add my phone number and save Anyone tapping on this button from their phone will trigger a call to my business.

So I can schedule an appointment with them Step number four: complete your Business details very often when you are searching for a local business in Google. One of the first results that comes up organically is a facebook business page This is because Facebook is so dominant that it will trump many other results in Google’S organic search results, even your own website. That’S why it’s Important you fill in all possible information on your page, as it is likely.

To be the first impression you will give to your visitors, the good news is: it’s Very simple to do go to your page and, on the left hand, Side menu select the about option. If you can’t see the option, just click on see. More that will expand the menu, then select about Right below your Call-To-Action button click on the link edit page info and fill in all your Business details, including a short description of your page, your website, Address your business email address your opening hours and everything else that Is blank Still in the About section? Add your business story to give relevance.

And context to visitors who want to find out about you add an image. Some great Copy with relevant keywords and another link to your website in there Step number five interact with your audience with automated messages. One Great thing about running a business page is that you can interact with your Audience, even when you are not online, which is very useful when you are a busy Local business owner first, you can display a greeting message that people Will see the first time they open a conversation with you on messenger to Set this up just click on your page setting option on the top right hand, Side choose the messaging option and click on the jump to your section link.

Next to the response assistant turn on the show, a messenger greeting option and Customize your message by clicking on the Change button, an example of the Message your visitors will see automatically appears here, change it to Whatever you want, you can customize it further and Personalize your message by using the dynamic options in the copy, which is a Very nice touch: let’s choose first name option, so anyone opening a conversation With you will receive the following greeting, which includes their first name: If somebody responds to the greeting and you’re not available to start a Conversation or answer their questions you can set up the response assistant Functionality that will send instant replies to any message to set this up.

Just click on the go to automated responses, link switch on the instant Reply button and click on edit to write your own message. You can also automate Some of the answers, which is great once you’re, done, click on save and then on. The top left hand side click back on your page, so we can move on to our next step. Step number: six configure your page menu by default. Facebook will set up Your page, with a standard navigation menu on the left hand side you can Customize, this upon your needs and your business type just go to your page.

Settings and select the template and tab option. If you scroll down, you will see a List of the default options available in your current menu. If I put my facebook Business page side-by-side with the menu settings you can see what I’m talking. About to change the ordering simply drag-and-drop the menu tab, you want to Move, let’s say I want the offer tab to sit right at the top to entice more Customers, all I need to do is grab the component and drop it right at the top.

Just refresh your page and you’ll see the changes step number seven time to publish your First, post, your page is now all ready to go. It’S now time to start making the most of it and publish a few posts. But before you do that remember at the Beginning of this tutorial, we made this page private, so it’s time to make it Available to the world go to your page settings once more and in the general Tab select page visibility and click on edit Tick, the page published option and save changes go back to your page and publish Your first post here is an example of a few posts I have published on my Hairdressing page, so it makes it look a little bit more alive once you’ve Published a few posts and your page looks like it’s active it’s time to move On to our final step, step number 8: invite your friends and create a vanity URL.

Facebook will suggest you invite friends to like your page. This is a good Idea for three reasons: first, it will give your page an initial boost and help Gather some momentum, since you currently have 0 followers. Second, your friends: Might share the page with their friends which will amplify your reach. Third, when You reach 25 likes. You will be able to create what is known as a vanity URL. If You don’t know what a vanity URL is.

Let me explain. Currently your Facebook page Is accessible via a unique address, just like a website, in our case, the address File page is this: unlike a website, this is very difficult to remember for anyone You can, however, give your page an address that is much easier to remember. Just like my own Facebook, page facebook.Com, slash ranking Academy, this Is what is known as a vanity URL to do this? Just click on the link called Create a page at username under your profile picture, this will trigger a Pop-Up, in which you can set up a memorable username and give you an easy To remember address of your page in the username field.

Add your business name. Without any space, and then click on create username, if you see a red man, Telling you you are not eligible, it is because you haven’t reached 25 likes yet So keep trying until you get there to be honest, it’s super easy, after that, your Facebook page will be a hundred percent complete, that’s it. For today you should Now be all set and able to post on your brand-new business page but remember Facebook is a social network and not a platform to flog your products and Services engage with your local community, be helpful and respond to Comments and questions and don’t leave your page unattended for too long.

I hope You found this tutorial helpful, remember to post any questions in the comments. Below and press the thumbs up button, if you feel like it and until next time, Happy marketing
