My name is Donald Allen and I’m so excited to be here with you today so running. A small business can be a great second career after serving in the military. We believe that digital skills, training for veteran owned businesses like building a website, preparing a business plan and honing and marketing an audience strategy. Well, we’ve been official as veterans try to grow or start their businesses this year for national veterans Small Business Week.

We want to celebrate businesses who identify as veteran, led and help them grow their businesses through digital tools and training. After the presentation will be hosting a Q & A where we’ll answer, your questions live so throughout the what the livestream submit your questions using the hash tag, hash vet led livestream on Twitter, we’ll also be joined by Northern California. V Bakke advocate Korean economy.

To ask her about free tools and programs that V, Bock and SBA have to offer for veterans all right. So first a bit of background. So in 2017, we launched grow at Google, an initiative to help people across the United States grow their skills, careers and businesses by providing the best of Google’s training and tools. Specifically, we’ve launched products and programs that help the veteran and military spouse community and we’ll be sharing some today, as well as resources to learn more at the end of the sliced ring in today’s session.

We’re going to talk about a free tool that businesses can use right away to get started connecting with customers online. It’s called Google, my business and, if you’re new to Google, my business, don’t worry! That’s why we’re here today and I’ll start by sharing an overview. So, Google, my business, offers businesses a way to manage how their information appears across Google search in maps. So what is called a business profile all right, so try to picture this when we first moved to the Bay Area a few months ago, my family wanted to go out to eat all right.

So here we are we’re. In an air B & B. We have no food in the house new to the area and just like so many of many pcs adventures, we had no idea what was around us and keep in mind. I’ve got a family of six, so we can’t just go anywhere to go eat. So I open Google Maps and typed in restaurants near me and when I came, what popped up was a bunch of business profiles for businesses that were local to our area.

And so we found a quaint French comfort food cafe and had pictures and ours directions and a phone number which is important because I needed to call them to see if they could accommodate my large family I’ll. Just leave it to say that we went they could accommodate us. We had a great time and is now a favorite of ours that we now follow and we get updates from all of that is through these business profiles.

So research shows that over 90 percent of customers looking for business information through search engines are looking for specific information like business hours, promotions or available appointments. This is important because how a business’s information appears in search results can impact when how or why potential customers engage with you in context of our discussion today, of how businesses can use a business profile to connect with local customers.

So all I add that not only our customers are looking for specific, specific information about a business. They are looking for specific information about local businesses. There are billions of local searches made every month and more than 30 % of all mobile searches are related to location. So what does this mean all right? You have customers who are looking for specific information and largely looking for this type of information about a business in their community.

So today we’re going to discuss how to connect those dots using features available through Google, my business, but before we dive in it’s important to note that Google, my business was designed for businesses who have a physical location or do business face-to-face with their customers. Ok, but if you have a business or thinking about starting one that doesn’t meet one of these two categories – you’re fine, there still be opportunities to gain tangible takeaways through today’s topic, all right.

So this is the part where I tell you what I’m about to tell you. In today’s workshop. We are going to discuss how businesses can use Google my business to establish a local online presence, build a loyal customer base, highlight what makes a service or project unique and use insights to help drive more in store or online traffic. Alright, so you have options available to you. This is where having a free business profile on Google can help.

Customers are 38 percent, more likely to visit and 29 percent more likely to consider purchasing from businesses that have complete profile information before diving into the features of which can help your business connect with customers locally. Let’s first take a review of the anatomy of a business profile on Google when a customer discovers your business profile. The initial view they see is your business overview in a business overview.

Consumers can find info about your business like address contact info hours of operation, business logos, photos and more. This overview allows potential customers quick access to the best ways to connect with your business through Google, my business, you have access to a manager dashboard where you can update all the information shown here. So 96 % of customers are more likely to visit a business that has hours of operations on a Google search or match results.

Page 90 % of customers are more likely to visit a business. I had a phone number on a Google search map results, page and 90 % of customers are more likely to be more likely to visit a business that has photos on a Google search or Maps results. Page. Ensuring this information is actively managed can help increase the odds of connecting with new customers. A recent update to business profiles on Google allows for businesses the opportunity to include branded images like logos in their profile.

Through this update verify, businesses can create a short name or custom name for their business profile, to make it easier for customers to find them. When businesses shared this short name, URL customers can enter it into their browser. Search bar using the G page. Slash your custom name to go directly to your business profile. Another great way to stand out to local customers is by using attributes.

Attributes like customers see what your business has to offer, such as whether our restaurant offers Wi-Fi or indoor seating. Some attributes, like women-led or outdoor seating, can be highlighted as badges when customers find your business on mobile for our veteran led businesses. Reading today, we created a specific veteran led business attribute to let your community know that your business is run by a veteran.

So all of these features are great, but what if a business doesn’t have a website for consumers to visit once they found your business profile? It’s okay, Google. My business includes the option to create a free, simple website generated with the information from your business profile. So it’s a great starting point of being online perfect for small businesses who do not yet have a web presence in creating a website with Google.

My business takes about five minutes. There are three steps to creating a website with Google. My business one-click website from your Google, my business dashboard and once you do this, Google, my business, will pull the information from your profile to populate the website. You have the option, then customize some elements of the site, including like the theme, tags and photos and when you’re ready to go live.

You click the publish button. These websites also come with a free, URL and hosting you can customize your website address by entering the first part of the domain name, and it will automatically be followed by dot business site. So if you entered the name statius bakery, your website address would be statius bakery, dot business site. Alternatively, you can register your own domain name. This option is not free and you’ll need to register the domain Google domains, but if you already have a registered domain name even with a registrar other than Google, you can use it for your new Google site as well.

Okay, so let’s discuss a couple of creative ways: businesses could use the website feature in Google, my business. If you wanted to build a website for a hair salon, you would first consider how you would want your customer to engage with this. Some of the questions you might ask yourself include whether the what are the deciding factors that a potential customer would use when choosing a salon, do they want to see before-and-after photos? Do customers like to read reviews? Do customers prefer to make appointments or just walk in what customers prefer to see pricing on individual services? These are all the things that can be solved through the website template.

For example, you could showcase before-and-after photos and include reviews from your business profile on Google, so customers can see proof of the quality work that you do next, you can include a book now call to action button. So it’s important to note one out of two customers that want to schedule an appointment when searching for our business online are looking for way to to schedule that appointment.

So so one of the things that really came out to me was when I first got out of the military. I need to get a haircut. I couldn’t just go on base and go get. My haircut like I had been. I had to go, find a real barber, and so I actually used the Google search and found a profile for a business near me and the one that I chose for me was the one that I could schedule the appointment right there in the in the profile.

It was great and Google works with third party scheduling software providers. Sorry, Google works with third party scheduling software providers to enable online booking through Google search maps and reserve with Google a service that allows people to book appointments and reservations directly within the search engine found at google.Com. Slash map, slash reserve, and the last feature that you could use to utilize would be pricing information to include info about the cost of services.

Another thing that you can do is use photos and bright and vibrant ones are best to showcase products in the gallery. On this slide, you can see how a bakery showcases examples of how the food looks me. Personally, I definitely prefer more pictures of donuts and if I were still thinking of the hair salon I may want to show, before and after pictures to demonstrate my good work. Choosing the right photos can go a long way in helping customers feel confident that the service types and quality of work you provide online with their goals.

Another feature that I want to point out is custom domains. Google, my business, will allow you a free domain, which includes the dot business dot site at the end of the business name. However, you can you may decide it, you want to purchase a custom domain which is shorter and when thinking about which domain is best for your business, a few the best practices include making it easy to type keeping.

It short using keywords that your customers are already using to find you avoid numbers and hyphens and be memorable. Those are just a few ways that you can customize a website for your business through Google. My business, in addition to the features I just mentioned, businesses can also customize their website using a pre-designed templates. These templates come in a variety of layouts and color schemes, allowing you to select one that supports your brand guidelines.

Alright. So in this section we’re going to discuss ways to help you build a loyal customer base using welcomed offers all right. So when people follow your business, they become a follower and they will see your updates and offers and photos across Google and in there, for you feed. When you go into Maps, business owners can check out the customers tab to learn more about their followers into Google.

My business app the benefit here is that this creates an additional blog for business owners to reach their customers, and then you have the Welcome offer. You can attract people to your business with a welcomed offer. Now what this is is when they click follow on apps. Are search they’ll get an offer such as five dollars off your first meal, and then they can redeem it in person. The benefit here is you’re giving users another reason to visit you again going back to the are stat, which said that 90 % of customers are looking for business information through search engines are looking for specific information like business hours, promotions or available appointments promotions serve as A great way to capture our consumer attention and convert them into customers.

Here’s what that process looks like for your customer, so a user follows a business that has a welcomed offer set up. The user is informed of what it means to follow your business via pop-up. The user can choose a dismiss to offer or choose to save it, and then the user can go back to the business profile and view the offer when they are ready to use it. Alright, there’s three ways, so we can create an offer all right.

So the first one is click the Create a welcome offer from the home screen. I find that to be very aptly named. The second way is to set up a welcome offer in the profile editor screen, and the third way is to click create offer during the first time use prompt. Now that we’ve decided to create an offer when we’ve navigated our way to the starting point. There are just four steps in creating the offer.

The first one is to enter information about the offer. Next, you want to add a photo, and then third, you want to add a title and description to what your offer is. The last one is to view the welcome offer and double check the details, and then click publish another useful feature in Google. My business is the posts feature which allows merchants to post live updates directly on their business profile.

We briefly discussed post earlier in this workshop posts serve as a great way to keep loyal customers up-to-date on new products or service launches or other good information for your business. So when customers have more access to your business information and updates, they can make better decisions. As they browse, this allows you to directly communicate with your local customers to improve your customer experience with timely information to promote your sales, specials special events, news and new offers.

This also allows you to engage with your customers through articles and photos. Post can be created from your computer or from your phone on your computer sign into Google my business or open the Google, my business app on your phone or tablet. If you have multiple locations after you sign in you’re, going to need to select the location you’d like to manage and then click posts from the menu at the top of the page choose the type of post you’d like to create from the options.

Given the options to add photos, articles text, events offers and a button to your post appear, there click each field and enter the relevant information to see a preview of your post click preview and, if you’re happy with your preview in the top right click publish and If you’d like to change your post in the top left, click back edit, your draft until you’re, ready to publish and then click publish a few ways to use posts, though, are like a what’s new post.

What’s new post is one that provides general information about your business. You can include a photo article link, a call to action, button or other information. For example, a restaurant could make a post to promote a new menu item or in this example, honest Seoul. Yoga announced a new yoga studio, location, product post or the post that emphasize a specific product that your business sells. Product posts require a title, a photo or article.

You can then also include a call to action, button and other information, and then we have offer pose offer posts are ones that provide promotional sales or offers from your business offer posts require a title and a start and end date. A view offer call to action. Button is automatically added to pose and you can also include a photo a article, a coupon code, a link as well as terms and conditions with that pose.

This is a great seasonal. This is a great method for getting seasonal offers out there. One more idea: you can use poast to highlight important business information. This last post shows on insole yogas hours of operation, and you can create a post like this and include additional information that might help customers. So, for example, last year, specifically my family, on Black Friday, we were out trying to do some shopping.

You know get an early start to the season and trying to figure out the hours of operation for not just stores, but also restaurants, that we were in the vicinity of was really difficult. Unless you went to the store and saw the sign in the window. But the using this post, you can announce to all your followers. What your hours of operation are on those special days posts appear in your business profile and search and maps.

They you can create posts from Google, my business app on your phone or tablet or from the web dashboard using a laptop or desktop. You can also see how posts are influencing potential customers by reviewing their activity from the Google. My business dashboard, which draw it brings us to our last topic today. So our final topic today is how a business can use the insights feature in Google, my business to drive in-store and online traffic.

Many customers find businesses through Google search and maps. Google. My business insights focuses on how customers find your listing on search and maps and what they do after they find it think of this as an understanding the story of your customer, where they’re from and how they come to interact with your business. Ok, so there’s a lot of different types of insights. Some of the insights provides you different ways to understand how customers interact with your listing, so the the first one how customers find your profile.

It shows how many customers found you in a direct search. In other words, they search for your business name or address versus a discovery search, which is where they saw for a category a product or service, and your profile happened to appear. The next one is search queries which is available on the web version, but not available on the app to view search queries show you the queries that were used to find the business on Google, where customers found you on Google, Google search versus Google Maps the next One is customer actions, so this shows you what searchers did once they found your profile in Google.

The actions include that they visit your website. Did their request request directions that they call you? Did they just view your photos? The next one is Direction. Requests you’ll see your location pinned on the map and a heat map that shows the most popular places from which people ask Google Maps for driving directions to your address. The total number of requests, broken down by city or neighborhood are displayed as well.

The next insight is phone calls when and how how often searchers called your business via the Google business profile on Google, you can view trends by day of the week or time of day, and then the last one will talk about today’s photos. This is the number of photos associated with your profile and how often their view compared to your photos of businesses similar to yours, all right, so we’re going to dive in a bit into three of these available insights and so in the insights tab.

You can track common terms and search trends for your business. These queries should help you create better pose with Google and even ads to engage your customers search. Queries focus on the terms that your customers use to find your business on local search and maps. You’ll see the queries used in the last week last month, or even the last quarter, but to protect users. Privacy you’ll only see the queries that meet our privacy threshold all right.

So the next section here shows how customers behave after they found your listing on Google. The graph shows you how many customers completed the following types of actions when viewing your listing that they visit the website. A customer views your website, and this is displayed as website actions on the bulk report. Did they request your directions? This is where a customer requested directions to your business, and this is displayed as directions.

Actions on the bulk report did they call you. This is clearly where a customer called your business and displays as phone call actions on the bulk report and then there’s a total actions. The total customer actions for website directions and phone to view how many customers completed an action on a specific day. You simply need to select the data you’re interested in and so on. The desktop you just place the cursor over the day and on mobile you just tap the day and to the right of the graph click, the checkboxes to turn on or off the various filters.

Now the graph displays a total number of times anyone clicked one of the actions so whether they just clicked request, directions or place a call. This is going to show you any one that clicked it. So this means that single user can request directions to a business 100 times in a single day, and we would show you that a hundred requests were made in that one day. The next section here shows where customers are when they request directions to your business.

So on the map displayed you’ll, see your location pinned and the popular places your customers are when are are when they ask Google Maps for directions to your address. The total number of requests, broken down by city or neighborhood are displayed as well. You can zoom in and out on the map using the controls in the bottom right corner. Now the graph displays a number of unique users in each source, location, so by postcode or city or even country.

So this means that a single user can request directions to business 100 times in a time period, but we would only show one request for that person. Okay, in today’s workshop, we discussed how businesses can use Google my business to establish a local online presence, build a loyal customer base, highlight what makes a service or product unique and help drive more in-store and online traffic for hands-on support.

With any of the topics we discussed today visit the small business pros, comm and a schedule of one-on-one with a small business pro today, small business pros offers a quick and easy way for you to optimize. Your online services use your existing data to make more strategic decisions and resolve your issues in real time. You can find more free online business tools that grow. Google, / veteran lead as a reminder.

If you have questions you can get those questions answered using the hashtag hash vet LED livestream for a chance. I have your questions. Answered live next up, we’ll chat with karina conley from the veteran business outreach center, which is partially funded by the Small Business Administration, about the importance of National Veterans, Small Business Week and additional tools and resources available to the veteran and small business community.

But first, let’s take a look at a veteran, led, small business story featuring Chris Nolte Army veteran and founder of electric bike company propel bikes. My name is Chris Nolte, I’m the founder of propel bites throughout school. I didn’t really have all that much direction. I thought the idea of going into the military when I returned from overseas, I returned with the back injury. I really spent most of my time at home, just kind of feeling broken.

A friend of mine got an electric bike that built went up for myself and then suddenly, I’m mobile again. So I ended up starting this electric bike business and I knew that if I was to grow this business, so it’s going to do it all on the web. Recently, we added the bet led attribute: you’ve actually seen an increase of business specifically for people that want to support veteran owned businesses.

The first year we sold about 25 bikes, and last year we sold about a thousand everybody that found us. They found us on Google. What I do today, it’s very fulfilling it’s kind of a new mission for me and welcome back and wow. That was an awesome story Congrats to Chris and all of his success would propel bikes. Now we want to welcome our special guest Karina Connelly, who serves as a chief executive officer for the veterans business Outreach Center serving California and Nevada, so welcome Karina yeah.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, the Small Business Administration, your work with V Bock and the importance of National Veterans Small Business Week? Absolutely, and thank you so much for having me on today to celebrate the National Veterans Small Business Week. You know it’s just just a little fun fact that there’s over 2.9 million veteran businesses out there in our great nation that contributors over 1 trillion dollars over 1 trillion dollars with a revenue to our local economy.

So imagine that as a whole. So again, I am really humbled and honored to serve as a CEO for the veterans business Outreach Center. We are a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization were partially funded to the US Small Business Administration and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. Our program is really designed to be able to assist veterans in their initiatives to either start sustain or expand a small businesses initiative.

So the services that we offer are complementary because they’re paid by your public tax dollars and there’s three forms of services that we offer. The first one is: we offer complimentary one-to-one small business, consulting services, so let’s say, for example, you’re a veteran and you’re coming to our organization and you’re looking to either start a business. So what our process is is that we are designed to take a look at you as a person as a whole and identify what your learning style is, and then our counselors are trained to adapt to what your learning style is.

The reason why we do that is because of the fact that we want to alleviate starting a business can be really stressful and, with stress, is fear right. So we want to be able to alleviate that emotion called we call it the false evidence that appears real mentality, so we can adapt to whatever your learning style is to assist you in your endeavor to to do the evaluation, a reality therapy of starting a business Or if you’re an existing business and you’re looking to grow, or it is to seyn or to put together as a session plan, we will also adapt to whatever your business needs are, and our consulting services are done in a couple of different capacities.

The first one is, it can be telephonically done or we can do. We use our WebEx where we can actually FaceTime with you right. So then, you can face up the information that you’re reviewing with the counselor and also through that consultation review clash, flow projections, creating a strategic plan building a website whatever. That initiative is that we are doing with you and then the other one is obviously in person.

So we have an office which is our law offices located in Sacramento California. So that’s why we offer the different platforms, because everybody has most. Everybody has a smartphone, a computer where they can go ahead and log on, and it’s more effective for them to do that. The other service that we offer is over 200 trainings on an annualized basis. One of the signature programs is created by SBA.

It’s called the boots to business program. You went through that during your transition. Yes, so, as you know, then that program has eight modules and it really walks you through the conceptual idea of starting a business right to the fiscal financial management piece of it to the operational piece of it, to creating that that strategic plan or that business plan. Depending on what generation you are right and it gives you a snapshot view, so it allows you to be able to identify if entrepreneurship is something that is right for you, so it really just opens your eyes up to say.

Ok, this is something that I think that I might want to be able to do, but when a person goes through that program, where ever they were ever their home bases after their they come out of the military, then they can contact one of the 22v blocks That are nationwide, which can be easily accessible on the sba.Gov website, and so each one of those programs are those V box. Centers will tailor their services to whatever your specific needs are, and then the last service that we offer is we host conferences, which are one to three day conferences and they have a community-based focus.

So, for example, we just had a small business and dvbe summit dvbe in the government. You know we use lots of acronyms, which means disabled veteran business enterprise, and so it was a small business one day summit and it was part of the National Veterans Small Business Week celebration, and so with that we had our best practices, businesses that have come through The veterans Business Outreach Center program, some of them are still small businesses and some of them are actually medium-sized businesses, so we helped them grow and foster their business through either that neophyte level all the way through succession planning.

So that’s what the V buck programs do. So with that best practices, the audience had an opportunity to engage based upon their industry sector. What were best practices, what they would have done differently and what worked well for them, then the other component that we had is we had an economic future forecasting which talked about what are the economic trends which are so viable to a small business owner when you’re Creating your strategic plan or direction is if this is what my business initiative is going to be, then how is it going to fit within the marketplace in the demographic area that I serve or if its global, then, how does that fit globally as a whole yeah? So it’s interesting and and one of the things that came up so I’m a veteran you know, thank you, and so I know we’ve got a lot of veterans who are reading today, Wow.

So one of the things that comes up a lot especially doing a transition is the idea that we’re not quite ready yet and so at what stage from ideation creation. You know like that. I have an idea when I start a business, I’m actually operating a what stage should I come see you and your your team? That’s an excellent question. So, to be quite frank, it doesn’t matter what stage in the game you are because the veterans business outreach centers are designed to assist you on wherever you are specifically and whatever that cycle of starting a business or growing a business.

So, at any point time you can connect with your local vibha office. They’ll do a needs assessment to figure out where you are specifically. So if you’re a startup right, we want to vet the concept that the idea we want to determine whether or not the idea. By doing some market research is going to fit within the demographic area that you’re looking to to host your business. So let’s say you’re going to be starting.

I don’t know pick something underwater, basket-weaving, okay, right and you want to have a retail site that is in so you’re going to build a tank, this whole retail facility. So what we want to do is we want to take a look at what businesses and what can economically and trends is going to impact your business number one. So that’s the first thing so with your local municipality. What is the five-year plan for that? For that infrastructure, for that municipality, that’s going to support your business or is there another business? That’s similar! That’s a box chain! That’s going to come in! That’s going to have the same business initiative that you’re going to do, and it’s not going to be your direct competition and, what’s the with the mile radius of that the other part of it is that taking a look at the economic research, we have access to A phenomenal program that SBA provides to ssv bucks is called IBISWorld and I was word world allows us to pull economic trends, so we can assist you and give you the information that you need to be able to value your business concept, and/or idea.

So that might be an initiative marketplace of what you’re doing, but we want to make certain where your sales going to come from. Are you going to? Are you going to foster your relationships and do contracts with corporations? Are you looking for the general population sector or is it a combination of how are you going to generate that revenue and what does that strategic plan look like operationally financially to your marketing to your branding, to your succession planning as well, so one of the things That comes up is going back to my underwater basket-weaving, so in my head, I’m going to do five billion dollars of revenue in the first week.

Yes, if I bring that plan to you, are they going to help me gauge some of that, so we’re going to give you reality. Therapy is what I’m going to call it reality, they’re right, so we’re going to take a look at your industry sector right and what is reasonable cash flow that you’re going to generate. So if you come in a new, unless you have a contract with maybe a major health care or a for-profit organization, that’s going to say we’re going to give you a contract for that dollar amount and that’s going to solidify your revenue right.

But it also depends on the terms and the conditions of that contract. So we we sit down with you and we take a look at what your owners infusion is right, because you have to have working capital, you have to have sustainability, and so that’s why your cash flow projection is really important because it talks about your different revenue Streams right and you can’t start out a business with five million.

No, I mean we’re. Could you have something that supports that in evidence that, because more than likely, if you’re going to start out a business, that’s going to have five million dollars. You said within the first year first week first week: that’s you know what that’s very believing it’s coming at you, so you must be using Google right and you know it it’s to help you with that. So what we will do is we need to make certain that you have enough money to cash flow, your business, okay right, so you have a five million dollar contract you’re going to perform it in the one week.

So how are you going to afford to have money in the bank? That’s either your own owners infusion or a line, a credit established or some kind of funding to support that contract, because more than likely contracts don’t get paid until 90 to 180 days out, depending on the where it where it starts. So what we’re going to do is take a look again at your industry sector. What is reasonable in that industry sector? What are some past performance who’s, your competition, so a mini MBA program.

We call it the SWOT analysis right. What are their strengths? What are the, what are the weaknesses, what we’re going to call it areas of improvement right? What are the opportunities for your business and what are the threats to your business? So SWOT analysis? Okay, yes, yes, and so we’re going to take a look at that and determine what is a reasonable cost for the services that you’re offering or the products that you’re offering.

So for your basket-weaving business? Is it just going to be isolated to a certain demographic area, or is it going to be or national? Well, I just presumed that I would put it online and make my 5 million dollars a week so again we’ll take it back to reality therapy. So what will happen is all of our consultants in our program have an MBA. We have some that are CPAs as well, so we have you sit down with the consultant, take a look at your industry sector and put together a cash flow projection.

That’s reasonable! Okay! Right we’re going to give you that’s what I call it the reality therapy and though the services are complimentary, you’re not going to do the work for you we’re going to mentor you and guide you through that process. So the energy and effort that you put into it is the rate of return that you’re going to get out of it. Oh perfect, we have a lot of people that come in and they want us to do the work.

But if we do the work for you, then how are you going to successfully own and operate your business fair point? What? But that brings me to an interesting question. So I know a lot of veterans are thinking about starting their own business as they get out. Yes, what are the value that you see that a veteran brings to starting up their own business? That’s a really an excellent question, so you being a military member.

You know the Department of Defense spends billions of dollars of training, military members right with their standard operating procedures and also how to be able to handle situations that are stressful situations right. You have a ready action plan. So that’s what makes a veteran owner business owners so successful. I think you’re at the top 90 percentile a success ratio of them succeeding and it’s also predicated on the industry sector as well, but because they’ve been trained and it’s how they take so, let’s say: you’re a veteran you’ve recently transitioned out and you’re.

Looking to start a business or you’re already in a partnership in a business right, so what we want to do is take a look at what they needs. Assessment are with your business, where you’re going to grow it or how you’re going to start it and we’re going to take that experience, maybe you’re starting a business in whatever experience you have in the military. You want to transition that experience into corporate America and to start your business and we’ve helped many many many clients through that threshold from they come in.

They have a conceptual idea. This is what I did in the military. I was in charge of supply did supply chain, and I know that I could get supplies from point A to point B, so we actually have a client that that came through this program about four years ago. They started out with a conceptual idea and now they’re running over 22 million dollars in contracts, but we were, but they allowed us to do our job by guiding them and mentoring them through that whole process.

So so any business can be successful right if you, if you plan and you strategize, but that plan is just used as a barometer and because of the fact that things happen in business when you’re when you’re an entrepreneur – and you start out – you wear many – many Hats, you might be the CEO but you’re, also the janitor right, which every job is equally important. You can be Accounts Payable, customer service, you can be the sales department as well and you can be your human human resources department as well.

So what we take? A look that really is what your bandwidth and what your skillset level is, and to help you to take to those areas that you don’t have that bandwidth to fill those areas either with collaborative partners or resources. That will give you what you need to have a solid foundation, but it’s up to you to take the advice and to implement the advice. We can only give you the advice and we don’t make decisions for you.

Sorry, that’s good. No, it sounds really great about especially about guiding us through in a non-judgmental way, like that’s, really important. What, if my idea is super brand new mmm-hmm secret? I don’t want anyone to know about it. There’s a confidentiality absolutely so, just like I mentioned earlier, so the consulting services that we offer are confidential, just like a bank fiduciary relationship.

So when you register for services with our organization, we have a confidentiality statement and also in there it describes to that. What that level of confidentiality is all of our consultants and all of our staff members also have to sign a confidentiality statement on an annualized basis and we train what that confidentiality means. So let’s say you start your starting a business and you have a friend who’s starting the same business and that friend calls in because they want to find out about your business initiative.

So what we’re going to do just like what a bank does or just like, if you have a medical care provider, they’re, going to verify that it’s you, so we will ask them a series of questions like the last four years. Your social security number will branch and military. So there’s certain cue questions that we ask them, because we have access to that information to verify that when we’re doing a telephonic consultation or we’re doing or someone’s just calling in that.

We know that we’re connecting with you and speaking with you, okay, so yeah. So all right, this one is on behalf of my wife. Yes, what options are there available for military spouses so so they’re the same opportunities for military spouses for entrepreneurial training services through the Vblock programs, as if you, the veteran that came through as simple as that, so we support veterans of all eras, transitional military members.

Reservists Guard members and spouses, and so if your spouse is going to be in business with you, we will have you sign an authorization of release form because we serve the veteran right and then your wife would register for service as well, and we would onboard her The same way that we onboard you and so the same thing, if you are a veteran business owner and you have a key management team right, your key management team would register for services.

You would sign an authorization form for each one of them and then we would work with you as a team that doesn’t mean that they can receive the services in lieu of you as the veteran it’s in collaboration. So we could build capacity for you and your business or with you. I should say right so, okay. So what if my business isn’t five million dollars a week? What, if it’s really only about twenty thirty thousand a year? Do you guys still help with that? So yes, so again, we it doesn’t matter the size of your business, whether you’re, a micro, business or you’re, a small business or you’ve generated no revenue whatsoever.

We’re here to guide you to mentor you and to support you if you’re starting, growing, sustaining and all the way through an exit strategy and even through the exit strategy. If you’re looking to bring in another veteran to take over your business, we mentor both of you in that transition period. Right because we want to make certain that it’s fluid and that it’s successful for both of you and we also help with the evaluation of an acquisition of a business.

So our services are really broad. So it’s just not business planning, right and strategic planning. It’s all about acquisition with acquisitions and mergers. Access to capital is a big one. So well actually my next question so access to capital is one of the greatest hurdles that small businesses have right so because it’s all predicated upon the business itself. What is the owners infusion? What cash do you bring to the table? Not you going down and getting a credit card taking a cash advance.

That’s not cash! That doesn’t count right. Well, it counts, but it’s not true owners in fusion. What collateralization so there’s different types of financing that’s available, but financing for a small business is unique to the business. It’s not like you’re going to go, buy a house and you’re going to give them your your w-2s and your last year’s w-2s. Your 30 days bank statements and your last 30 days pay stubs it’s different.

It’s uniquely designed and underwritten based upon the industry sector, your business, what you say in your strategic direction or your plan, what your business is going to do and with those cash flow projections. Again, I’m going to go back to the fiscal wheelhouse, whatever those projections say, are they reasonable with the industry sector and do they make sense based upon? What’s your marketing plan in is your branding analysis and whatever those different revenue streams are going to be.

So we take a look at not only you as a person as a whole. We take a look at your business as a whole as well, and then that’s how we guide you. So it doesn’t matter if you’re starting sustaining growing since we’ve had people their survival mode right. We’ve had veterans that are deployed and we’re helping them work with their business owner back in the States and we’re doing it telephonically or emailing, so their business is sustainable when they return ok.

So this is my last question for you before we move on. So I know you’re with the BOC. Yes, not all of our viewers are here in California. Yes, how do they go about getting the access it? Can they get that excessive? Absolutely absolutely so SBA is, is a federal agency. It’s called the small US Small Business Administration and SBA has numerous programs for four small people or individuals that are looking to start sustain or expand a small business initiative, because small businesses are the economic engine of our great economy at the at the end of the Day it all boils down to that and with that being said, if you go to the website at WWF, be a govt, that’s wws be a gov and then the Office of Veterans, Business Development is the program that funds and is responsible for the VBox centers nationwide.

Alice Tammy yeah. Ok! Well, great! So thank you so much Corinna, if you don’t mind, staying with me, we’ll go through soon a so now we’re going to take a few questions live from Twitter. As a reminder, if you have questions you can get those questions answered using the hashtag hash, vet LED livestream on Twitter all right, let’s hop into our first question so, and we’re excited what’s the first one ooh okay, this one is from the borough of Manhattan Community College, what would you recommend if founders do not have a physical location and want to use grow with Google all right? So, unfortunately, you cannot use Google my business as an online, only business, but you can market your business using SEO and Google Ads we’ve covered.

Both these topics in depth in our previous live streams, which you can access at G dot, Co, slash livestreams all right. That’s an excellent question. All right, let’s see here what else we got! Question number two question number two: oh okay, here’s one for Ukrainian! So this one is what’s the difference between V, bak and SBA, so the veterans business outreach centers are partially funded from the US Small Business Administration due to public law.

106. 5-0. All of the 22 V box centers nationwide are some are nonprofit organizations. 501 C 3 s – some of them are also connected with local community colleges or and/or state universities on their economic development wing, so their own. The each one of them are independently operated, but we are grantees from the US Small Business Administration through the office of veterans, business development through the public law 106 5-0, which started in 2004 so working together.

Yes, so basically SBA is the federal agency that allows us to be able to be the boots on the ground to provide those direct service deliverables, the confidential, consulting services, the over 200 training platforms on an annualized basis and then the conference’s that we host okay, cool. All right question number three: yes, this one coming from Clayton library: how can vets get involved with bunker labs in Atlanta all right? Well, actually, there’s actually no in Atlanta tomorrow, which is still accepting RSVPs for a launch event between Google for startups and bunker labs.

You can get involved by going to bunker labs website at Bunker. Labs, org and bunker labs is one of our collaborative partners Connor, who is the executive director? Yes, so the V pop programs collaborate with a lot of the nonprofit organizations and for-profit Avett agencies that provide those direct service deliverables. So that’s great that you can access a lot of different resources without owning all of them.

That’s correct, so it takes so they take. They say it takes a village right to raise a child, so it takes a village or a multitude of different agencies. Nonprofit organizations, both federal state, local municipalities, institutions of higher education to be able to serve our constituency base. So we all work together and collaborate. Okay. Next question here is from Avery from Madison Wisconsin.

All right are there more veteran specific workshops or lessons that you can recommend so I’ll. Take the first part if you want to connect partner, okay, so, as mentioned before grow with Google just launched a resource hub. Where veterans like, like War veterans, can find products tools and lessons to start or grow their businesses. One resource is the primer app primer, offers quick and easy to understand business and marketing lessons you can find topics like creating a business plan, increasing sales, managing finances and more primer also offers customers mini courses tailored to veterans and military spouses that you can find by Searching veteran led or mill spouse biz with a Z in the app the URL is grow.

Google, slash veteran ledge, very nice. So I’m going to add to that. If I may please, so, there are a lot of different resources out there for individuals for their small businesses. So if you there’s a small business development center, which is also also funded by the Small Business Administration. So if you’re looking to do government contracting as well procurement, technical assistance, centers as well, they provide specifically contracting opportunities if you’re looking to grow and expand your business.

I’m International Trade, Centers of International Trade Organization, the Service Corps of retired executives as well, and the one business centers I know score scores. I was okay, so that’s an excellent question, though yeah thank you uh. Why do we have here Sasha from Des Moines, alright Sasha? What do you have this? Alright? What’s the difference between Google, my business and things like Google Places for business, Google business profile, Google listings Google+ business pages? Okay, I can get that one: okay, Google, my business lets you take advantage of your business pro or businesses presence on Google.

So with your Google, my business account you can manage and update your business profile and build a website to attract, engage more customers. Google, my business business profile, encompasses what was once known as Google Places for business the Google listings and replaces a Google+ business page, so it consolidates and replaces it oh here we go. This one is from from Scott. It says: is there a search feature to make the veteran badge searchable and how do we shop and do business with that led businesses locally, all right I’ll, take this one.

The the attribute is not currently searchable. The attribute will show up in two places, so in search when you’re searching for a place using an android mobile device, users will see the attributes like veteran lead on the profile and when searching for our place using the iOS mobile device, users will would need to Use the chrome app in order to find a place, and then they will see the attribute in the highlight section on maps on maps, all users will need to open a business listing and tap the two two line: description of the business, to see the attributes associated With that business, so it’s more than abbreviate version on the maps versus when you go and do a search and see here, mmm, okay, so this one’s for you, okay, all right! This one is from Sylvia in Albuquerque.

I only have a business idea right now. What are some things I need to consider before start veteran-owned business? Well, that’s an excellent question. So the my first and foremost recommendation for you is to get in to sign up for services with a local Small Business Development Center, a veteran’s business outreach center. So they can actually help you and/or score to vet, that process of what your concept or what your idea is and how and how that concept or whatever the idea is that you have how it fits within the marketplace.

So the most important thing is get to the local resource partner: either a veteran’s business outreach center. You can find them on the SBA gov website and let those professionals assist you to help. You mentor you to walk you through and evaluate that concept, or that idea right as you want to find out whether or not is going to be feasible or not, feasible, absolutely and also plug score here from the SBA.

So when I was a mentor over there a lot of the times we would take at businesses that were still in the idea phase and didn’t really have anything fleshed out and we would help walk them to the flushing. But in the same town we weren’t going to do the work for you. We would give you the tools and you need to go. Do the legwork and that’s where we, when I go back to the needs assessment. Just like you go to a health provider they’re going to do a needs assessment based upon your health needs, so we do a needs assessment based upon your business needs.

What is your experience in the industry sector? What do you bring to the table of your knowledge because it’s one thing to have a conceptual idea, but not had that subject matter expertise to be able to perform the deliverables? So then we have to identify. Can we find someone who has that subject-matter expertise that you can hire or be your partner in that business? So it’s just basic evaluation.

So then that way, the reason when we offer the services is, we don’t want you to start a business and we’ve had people. Do this they come in, they go. We don’t to create a plan right, we’re just going to start a business, so they’ll come in. They’ll say this is an excellent service, we’ll start them in the direction, but they don’t want to create a strategic plan. What they want to do is they go out.

They sign a lease agreement, they’re in a retail storefront, and then they come back six or nine months later saying: hey. We don’t have enough money to cash flow. So then, what we do is we take a look at either a sustainability plan or a survival plan or an exit strategy, whatever their particular situation is. So that’s why these resources are so important, they’re, complementary, they’re paid by your public tax dollars.

These are people who are, they are certified the professionals they know their industry sector in and out and they’re there to guide you and mentor you. So the first thing that I would do is to go to sba.Gov, find your local resource partner, whether it’s a V Bach and SBDC, a woman’s business center or score whatever it might be and then get services from them. Let them guide you and mentor you through that process, so you can make good valid business decisions outstanding yeah.

So it’s a great question. So the next one is a Clinton library. Can you briefly briefly discuss the Patriot boot camp partnership or okay yeah? I can. I can do this one, so our our Google, for starters partnership will pair startups, founded by veterans and military spouses in the Patriot Mentor Program, with advisors from Google to provide product expertise. We’re especially excited to support the Patriot boot camp as they inspire and equip additional military spouse and veteran founders to succeed.

Wow. We got a lot of questions all of a sudden. It’s because you’re doing a fabulous job. Alright, so this one is from Justine from New York. She is Google Reserve the same as the appointment booking feature. Okay, no, but they do work together, so Reserve at Google connects to a wide variety of online services that let you book reserve and get things done like mind. Body Trip Advisor book, see him anymore.

So if you choose those services, it automatically connects you to your Google, my business business profile very nice all right. This uh got another one here from Justine nope, that’s a copy there. This one’s from Lily from New York, okay, New York is live. I know they’re. Definitely here in force is there a one-stop place where I can learn more about Google’s resources for veterans? Yes, there is actually so please visit grow.

Google, slash veteran lead where you can find grow at Google’s free tools and resources for veteran, led businesses and again that’s Gro. Google, slash veteran lead, that’s an excellent question. I know they’re coming in, like that. They’re definitely woken up so this one. Next, one is a Julia from Ann Arbor. Yes, all right, so I own a business, and one of my employees is in charge of responding to text messages that come in from Google.

My business is there any way that I can monitor the messages? Okay, so no, but you can see the average response time if you have any have an Android device reports in messaging insights will display the average wait time for a message response using the last 28 days of data to see the reports just go on your Android Phone or tablet open the Google, my business app and tap customers and then messages, and you should better get a report all right.

Well, I think that’s about all the time we have for today, and I hope that you found this information valuable. Thank you Karina. Thank you. Thank you for your service and inviting me out today. No thank you and thank you for joining us and thank you all for attending the live stream from all of us here at Google. I want to say a happy National Veterans Small Business Week. Thank you.

FreeNAS Mini XL+ 10G and Editing 4K Content.

For so you we can see certain performance things from benchmarks and they do provide some value, but they’re not always definitive, and they may not represent your use case in the same way that you think they would so you can say, hey the benchmarks said it would Do this, but when I actually used it, I ran into this problem.

So let’s talk about real-world use, so the FreeNAS mini xl+ and in article editing, that’s something that came up because I thought it was interesting. I liked Linus’s article on the jellyfish fryer, all SSD server and by the way, if you haven’t been to serve the home great website, excellent enterprise reviews on there, so I thought it was cool that they had to serve the home people on there. Also, they did use FreeNAS spotted on there right away.

Now I would love to build a twenty eight thousand. I think that was what he said. The price was $ 20,000 all-flash FreeNAS system for article editing and, as you get into youtube, you realize there is a definite need to have a way to store all the data you create. But for many of us that aren’t at the level that Linus is at, we can’t – or he has key Bhd near – we can’t afford $ 28,000 devices for that.

You know hoping to get there one day, but that’s not my today situation. So let’s talk about the freenas many xl+ configured with and someone’s going to cringe a little, but these are really reasonably priced. These are 5400 rpm Western Digital Red’s. So this is not a real expensive drive. It’s not a really fast drive. It is a solid, reliable Nash drive a I’ve had a lot of these installed. We’ve got a lot of systems that are storing data for our clients, built with these and they’ve, been really really reliable.

They’re low heat, low energy they’re great mass drives I’ve. The holding up Western Digital red series has proven to be quite reliable, overall they’re, not high performance, though at 5400 p.M. I will throw that out there, but when you configure them in a FreeNAS system and we’ll go ahead and look at how we have this configured go to pool status, we have a raid, z2 config. So, with a raid z2 with 8 drives there’s redundancy and we’re going to get some performance out of it because we’re sharing the load across the drives, so editing articles not going to be tragically bad, that’s important.

So this is going to be an affordable for those of us that can’t afford the $ 28,000 high end servers way to do edit in store in our article there’s a lot of people getting youtube and there’s all the struggles of figuring out. What camera and gear and what you’re going to do on YouTube? But then the storage people kind of put off to the side and even some of the bigger YouTube blogs Linus has gone through some of them and yeah.

They admit to all, have leaning lost data. Cuz saving it just on your computer can be a problem and a risk when you have a single Drive for doing this, this is just hard drives fail. That’s a statistic: having a raid rate is for a reason, even with this, you should be backing it up somewhere else. I do have my own two FreeNAS set up, so I have one free natural replicating to another one, so I’m at least that level, but at the minimum, having at least a raid array to dump all your data to and edit from is ideal and the freedom X, mini XL plus having a 10 gig, and I have a 10 gig switch, does help that now there is a way to do this, and maybe I’ll do it this in a future article where you can put a 10 gig card in your computer and then Directly connect it to the freenas mini, so you don’t have to have a switch, but you’d have to do some IP assignments and make that work without a switch.

They will direct connect, but that’s for a later article. This is at least assuming that you have the freeness mini XL, plus a 10 gig switch, I’m reusing the unify 1 and a 10 gig card in your computer, and my computer has the Asus 10 gig card in it. Specifically this one right here: the Asus XGC, 100 C 10 gig adapter. It’s someone has commented that they get a little warm. I hasn’t really been a problem.

It seems to work perfectly fine and doesn’t have a problem. Transferring at 10 gig hasn’t really been an issue. Alright back to the box here, so width is configured and I got the dashboard pull up here. We can see we’re at 197 and I have this right here. We’ve got net data opened up at 197, and now we can show you here is this: you can see. This is a SMB share. 3.1 97 article editing test and I actually I’m a Linux guy, so I do edit in kdenlive.

So here’s what it looks like when you’re just scrubbing around through data – and this is only shot at 1080. This is not stressing it out in any measure, so this is probably I can edit fine. I can jump ahead, jump and preview. Things play the article: that’s not going to be a problem, that’s not where you’re going to be more interest. So let’s go and look at some 4k article, so I let’s grab something off my GoPro and see how quickly I can open it.

This is a single 4k article, I don’t even know which one it says I mean goofing off on my motorcycle at a car cruise, it’s seeking ahead. It’s it’s really immediate here. Obviously, no pausing, no problem, let’s jump to another article played that one fine randomly grab. Another one here me goofing off at the office alright, and we go back over here, there’s all that stress at a diner, because someone said oh, the atom CPUs yeah they cert they’re not going to have a problem handling moving the data around like that.

You do see the you know a spike here and some of the traffic sent so now, let’s go step further and let’s say, let’s get a bunch of articles, so I think I can open them like this. This is and we’ll open all four at once now. The computer may choke on it because it’s going to open all these 4k articles at once, but they’re all playing. So how many is that that my computer’s choking, but let’s see what the FreeNAS is doing sending me all the data completely not stressing out we’re still sitting in all of a couple percent of CPU and no problems? The disk reads: spread across not a problem and we’re 170.

180. 185. It’s still going up with 4k article playing them all at once and here’s our network traffic, my computer’s hesitating it does. This is just mine’s an older i7 computer here so but yeah. Oh here’s. Our CPU actually getting a little bit of usage. We’ve we’ve hit the 3 % 3.6 % mark. So if you’re wondering if the atom in real-world use can handle it, obviously that’s not the problem. People seem to think it is and, like I said, the 4k I know chokes on my, but it’s obviously not a problem.

So real-world, can I edit all these articles, sure they’re all playing perfectly fine, and I don’t know why I like this is burnouts and things like that. Welcome to you know we have a. We have a big current culture here in Detroit and people like spinning the wheels and that all that black you see is that so it’s just funny, but you see other than my computer pausing a little bit playing knows. That’s not pausing, because it’s waiting on hard drive, the hard drive, isn’t even pinned out to its max potential here on the free NASA.

Neither is the processor so when it comes to doing some of the editing. This is a article I’ll be editing. This article will be uploaded before this is showing how an on surf works inside of there not a problem. Let’s just obviously I’m not going to save it like this, but let’s throw a 4k article file in it’s only reading the sound which takes a second. But it’s available immediately. Here’s that article not a problem, there’s another one, not a problem now granted when you get to something like lioness or KB, HD and you’re shooting in not 4k but 8k.

You’ve now quadrupled the amount of data, so yeah there’s probably going to be some slowdowns if you shoot an 8k, but if you’re using an epic red dragon at 8k, a hundred thousand dollar camera. I think that’s what those cost roughly in that range, with the accessories and lenses and mount kits yeah, you can probably afford something more than a freelance mini XL plus you can go to one of the enterprise trueness all flash arrays.

There are categories that will scale with you, but I just wanted to demonstrate that the freeness mini XL has new problems with 10 gig, and this is our peak with all those articles running that we did for the processor just nothing running. You know for 4k article for 4k, article stream to my computer, even with my older eye 7, which someone’s going to ask so I’ll pull it up. This is an i7 4770k at three-and-a-half gigahertz with 16 a minute.

So I do not have a killer, fast machine that is doing all this. My plan is to build a rise in for those that are asking. What am I going to build it soon? When people pay some bills I have outstanding, I will definitely be building a new rising machine. The performance is really nice. Um, I’m excited about that for article editing station, but for about for now this I 7 does get the job done. It renders things reasonably fast, and it’s really not much stress on these two will pull the reports as well.

It’s not here’s where we speak some data in here, but we are not at the limits of this system. So to speak. When you look at the CPU here, yeah we’re far from the limits of this system in terms of CPU and performance, we’re mostly idling this thing even pulling all that article. So for article editing system, the freeness, many experimental, the Western Digital red 5400 rpm little – is going for right now it looks like they’re about hot still about the 115 each.

So, let’s see you know, and this comes down to planning – you can go all the way up to the 10 tb’s 12 TB opposite 12 kind of depends on where your price point is, but it’s still an affordable way to build a system that will edit in 4K without having to break the bank – because I mean yes, you can go pro if you need something faster and say: let’s go up to the larger cache 7200 rpm class and the 40 B’s at the pro start at 160.

So not too much more. So it kind of depends on where your budget lies for storage planning, and someone will point out that, what’s only a little more for the 71 RPM, I see how but you got ta multiply. What is that little bit? More is times 8 storage planning can be challenging, Sarge planning is challenging because if you say I think I need this much storage, you probably need more, and ideally you should have at least one other machine that doesn’t have to be as fast that you also are Backing the data up to again, because even though you’re have array array which protects to some extent, there’s still more data or back it up in a cloud, you know you’ve done a article on this.

You can take FreeNAS and say: hey, send it overall, send it all the back plays that way. You have one more backup of all of your data, so keeping redundancy is important, especially when you have off-site redundancy in case. Anything tragic happens to the environment that you’re in, but I want to show that I edit not on the mini, Excel plus and pushing. I can send this one back. This was sent to us courtesy of the folks at Iook systems and FreeNAS, but I’ve showed the articles on the systems we have the custom-built freenas boxes, we’re using with 10-gig in them.

That’s what I’m running on right now for my normal article, editing and it works wonderfully. I don’t have any problem using freenas for article editing. I mean see if you’re using Adobe or something like that. You want the fancy plug-ins the jellyfish is kind of cool. I never used a product, but I read little articles on. I think it’s kind of a neat product, but overall I just want to make sure you to let everyone know.

Yes, you can met it edit on a 5400 rpm raid or a real-world usage opening up. All these articles – and I’m this article not well not – these ones – can’t delete this unless anyone wants to read my crews article and if there’s a demand for it, I’ll put it on my other YouTube blog. It’s not really content there, but no problem editing articles. I’ve been playing around with the last couple days. I edited a couple of the this article is going to go on there and a couple others that I made before I have to send.

This back will be edited using the free NASA mini xl+ and, of course, as I shown in the other article, it does have the SSD you can add internally. So if you wanted to add a write, cache or a read cache to it to speed it up a little more, you can, but this article was done without those enabled purposely to show you know. People who are budget conscious, go, and I don’t have all the budget for all that I just want to be able do it and if you’re wondering, if you can edit at one gig, yes, you can.

I did test that it is slower. Of course, it’s one. Tenth the speed, so I highly recommend when you get into article editing, if you’re doing anything in 4k and you’re dealing with putting together a lot of multiple article files. The ten gig one is a nice option and even if you’re, not using a 10 gig the same day, you buy it being able to upgrade later is great versus trying to buy another one later and it has ten gigs going to be a little more expensive.

Alright, this article will be edited on it, and you’ll actually see this article before this and it’s actively being edited right now. This one will be uploaded first, the parrot one which will be edited on the mini XL plus, and the mini XL plus article about the mini XL plus, will be edited on that too. Alright, thanks and I’ll leave to the previous review. Why You Should STOP Following Sales Experts’ Advice | Salesman/Entrepreneur/Biz Owner Must Watch

All of me, it was a huge amount of money for me because at that time I was still a university student, but listen to this carefully. I’m not here to praise her sales tactic. In fact, I hate her sales. That means so much because I felt that sure the whole process I was pressured to buy the package and, as a result, even after I bought the package, I wasn’t a happy customer.

So, even though this lady closed me for $ 2,000, she lose all her future sales as I refused to buy anymore upsell packages and guess what I never go back to the same saloon ever again and forever. She lose me as a customer. I know many of you are eager to improve your sales boost. After all, sales is part and parcel of business via insurance, agent property agent on my interpreter or a business owner.

Sales is a lifeline and is integral to your survival and in order to improve sales, where do we usually go? We often go to sales experts for advice. They can be your sales manager, your team leader or famous salespeople, such as 10 law or grant cardone, but the truth is their advice, may not work for you, because we all have given character and even have different gender. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that their advice is not good, but the problem is majority of the sales experts out there and guys, and they are usually dominating aggressive and right in the face.

If you’re a guy – and you are masculine in nature – the style may suit you. But if you are lady and you follow the advice blindly, you will end up forcing yourself into a style that you have not comfortable with and selling in a way that turn people off, because the last thing a customer one is a lady being very pushy and Very aggressive in sales, and that’s the exact same mistake that the sales manager made that turned me off as well as turned so many other customers off.

If she still continued to new this time for old and outdated selling method, I’m pretty sure she’s having a hard time right now, because we as customer have also evolved to be much smarter nowadays. So don’t follow the sales experts advice blindly without thinking, especially if you are lady. The last thing that you want is to appear aggressive dominating and pushy. I’m never pushy in myself, I’m approachable at the same time, I’m charming, and on top of that, I’m the top salesman in a company.

In fact, I help my company close more than six figures in terms of US dollar in one single day and the best part is my customers love me, and they are very happy with the solution that I offer them. So, in order to help, ladies, like you to improve yourselves as well as to generate more income, I’ve decided to share my charm system, a system that not only helped me to generate more than six figures a day, but also helped many of the clients that I Thought, if you want me to share with you my system, to increase your sales charm, give me a thumbs up on this article and comment I won below.

How to create Facebook Ads for musicians & artists (LIVE SCREEN STEP-BY-STEP)

My name is Cass. I run digital marketing campaigns in the e-commerce in the entertainment field, mostly and really stay in the service business. All over. My goal is to literally show people in each individual sector how to run ads, my speciality being that I am also music, present professional running a music management company. How artists actually run Facebook ads on the actual content when they turn promote it? If they got release albums single article whatever I will be going through the step by steps that I actually do my creation process, how actually, where I get my data from, why do I do this objective? What I do this, why do that? You listen and see everything.

There is nothing on YouTube at the moment. That’s a seek aid for artists. I thought you know why not let me offer some value and give somebody some give. Oh, you guys, should I say some insight onto how you do it right now on the screen, when my clients she’s an amazing R & B singer, I’m going to be using her account as a demo just to show you how the process would work when you Set yours up: if you don’t actually have a facebook business manager, I can’t if you use some boost the boost button order or the promote button on Instagram or Facebook.

Please guys stop its. This is the only way I advise anybody to do Facebook ads, because the reason why, when you’re doing the boost and you’re not getting all the data back as much as you can on this – and they are guys everything 80 % of my ads. Unless I’m testing that new interests are only going to be data-driven, they’re only going to be stuff that, as she works I’ll, never ever do ad, just picking something out the sky and being okay, this should work.

No, we don’t do that, so one be showing you. It’s how you can use real data you might would have received. You do have Spotify analytics where you can see all your list so for that or even if you can do from Instagram anyway, where you actually have there, we wait your top see at least your top five places. So what you want to do this is the I’m home screen. So at the moment we’ve only spent in for today six pound, twenty nine and look at the different we’ve reached three point: seven: nine we’ve reached half a million people and nineteen thousand first engagements.

This is obviously a bit more advanced, an aspect of using things that look like audiences, where I might make another article of, but this is how cost-effective one and face, whereas can actually be so what you want to do when that’s all sword and if you haven’t Created a business I believe I said earlier, I haven’t created face of business manager, account I’ll put like a link in the bio where you can go through the step by step.

Easy process just obviously create one and stuff like that, but ok we first run do is once asked you say assume: your accounts are sorted. What you want to do, let’s go to the top, which says business manager or these these three menu dashes. You want to click that normally this whole menu isn’t open. You want to click all tools and then you click Add manager. I’ve already opened up on this tab here, so it’s ready for you guys, but obviously, at the moment we have.

We have one active ad received 259 likes and look how much we spent guys. You’ve only spent one pound 61 out 15. So this is obviously how cost-effective running ads actually is. If you know what you’re doing I’m going to give you the basis of how I learned and how I started first, one is successful ads. Well, yes, free things, you consider this campaigns, there’s ad sets and then there’s ads. Let me close this.

You don’t need this anymore campaigns ad sets and then ads campaigns is basically what your objective is that what you want achieved you want to achieve more engagement, you wan na achieve more article views. You want to achieve traffic to a certain website or any of those type of things. There’s all these different ways how you can use different campaigns ad sets is literally the audience so, where they’re, from the interests, their age and also that includes the budget.

How much you wan na spend and also includes I’m the placement, so it’s on Facebook feed is on instagram. Feed is an interim story. There are some things in AD itself, pretty self-explanatory. What the audience actually sees. So first, we want to do. Let’s just assume that you have nothing here, so there’s no I’d say whatsoever. You want a quick click. Sorry create now takes you to this screen. This screen shows you.

What actual object is you wan na do imma keep this very, very traumatic. If you did not that long as you guys can crack on as quick as possible, but for artists for me anything to do music, you know stuff, I would say huge traffic engagement. Article views maybe lead generations. It depends on that to campaign, but everything else. I’ve. Never personally use for music artists. I wouldn’t this is a bit too broad brand awareness and reach, but you want to be a bit more specific recording that you actually want people to do, because Facebook has a whole lot of day and how people behave on their platform.

So on this actual campaign, I wan na use engagement, use engagement because it’s one of the cheapest objectives and also you get two for two for both, let’s say yeah teen, for once. Let’s say I am. I want, from a music article, provide the article views then Montori the people that will see it. People that overtly read articles on Facebook, engagement, the fact that they reading it and further they’re commenting and liking.

I get that extra blast prosperous. So what you want to do now is engagements click. You scroll down, change the post engagement class on the add with the previous added prior when it was on Facebook like we want to do, is name it. So let’s say the record is called the records cold winter. Why do I always leave the name of the objective? Next, I never just leave it just winter black, because later on, when I have lows different ads, I know echo.

This is the winner engagement. This might be the winner article views. This might be because you wan na get a habit of testing different stuff just to see what really works of you. So then there you go when I engagement click continue, and this is the ad set. This is the actual audience now, like I said before, we work on stuff that we have data for one and a or driven ad is probably your your safest way, not to waste your money, because it’s there that you have received evil from Spotify or from Instagram And eggs or Facebook analytics whatever Oh Google Analytics like all this stuff, is solely based on real data that you have obtained.

So what I’d say you guys can do? It’s called your Facebook, not Facebook, sorry, Spotify, analytics so see. This is a disease one. It’s the type of status at the moment last 28 days make sure it’s reason, don’t do it since the star, maybe seven days. It depends if you’ve had like a burst like a show normally 28 days, because you only the most recent time P. But I listen to music Beauty 2015. Some of people might have even not used, they might use tidal, they might use something else, so they might just they might not be your demographic anymore.

So keep a reason I wan na. Do you want to keep in consideration this part Mercedes gender, to show you the gender splits, and then it shows you that age? You want to keep that in mind for later on, and then you can see, see the location, Sochi, United States, UK, Germany, cetera cetera. So she all the monthly listeners, and then it shows you to see its cities now always guys what I person doing, advise you guys to do.

Make sure that you guys pick your top five to ten cities when you’re running ads reason. Why I do. That is because those are not only your most high listeners listeners, but it’s like if, let’s say how thick your speaking is, if Paris’s third part doesn’t work as well as I want, and let’s say, I’m doing top five, I can just go down like a cool. Take prayer self the ad set, then we do Los Angeles that doesn’t work then I use to them then so on and so forth, because you don’t know, you will never ever know how your fans or your audiences are going to respond to something.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8FAvfvQofcc

So you always want to make sure that you’re a step ahead of them doing that, knowing that before you spent your money where it should actually be going. So what I do I let you just drag this and copy. Let’s see top five, it’s top six early into it. Why not and then simply copy paste, that’s command C or control C. I believe I’m using this in ages, but I believe that is, but I’m going to go to spreadsheet or already copy.

This prior aren’t ready for the article, but you want to go to a spreadsheet. You want to go to a Google Doc or any type of copy and paste notepad or ever you use unless you just copy and paste, and then we want to do you want to highlight the city. So sorry, this one here, sorry sirens. Distract me apologize, I’m going to copy your top six and go straight back onto Facebook and then what you wan na do before you add it onto here guys you want to change this change.

The people who live in this location like another little nugget, you don’t. I leave it evarin in this location, because everyone’s location would be way too broad. An aspect of every location could not necessarily mean they’re from London. They could be people that was visit. You know people that was just on just stopping by for like a day or two. You want to make sure there’s people that live in this location.

Let’s take a United Kingdom, then this copy that in Sydney so Papa, then you wan na do select cities, towns, match vacations double-check the same place. So it’s a pod, yeah yeah good at six locations and they go. We have a location, so our top six places was mentioned before about look-alike and custom. Oh nice is this: where you do might do another article depending on the response, and if people need a bit more help, that’s a bit more advanced, but let’s just keep it very basics.

You guys can get get yourself a very good introduction to how to do it: okay, cool so on the right issue, issue the potential reach, how many people actually are in this set audience and show you the estimate. These just estimate based on Facebook, state and stuff, like that, what you want to do is here is the age you wan na go back onto Spotfire scroll back up to age, which is here and then see where the highest ages.

So it looks like it’s from 18 to about 34, so you want to do. It should go back to Facebook and do 18 to take for them, but they’re driven ads always work the best it’s. Our 55 million has gone down to 28 million, so we wan na. Do you wan na progressively carry your audience to the they already have and then mix. It depends on actual record kinda feeling right making a record that you only want to share women or, if you’re, like I said, I swear your music only case that women or only case the guys or whatever, then obviously it’s up to you cuz.

I don’t know what music you guys are making, but you do also do have the option. I’m languages I would leave, because music is very, very it’s. A universal language mean itself if you’re like trying to sell a certain product or your. You need people that you to read that your caption or whatever, then you might want to change that, but I would leave that blank and then here you go. The talk in this is where you can pick what type of interests you want to put this ad.

In front of Maron addicts been R & B singer, I’m obviously going to go with R & B acts, so she has 1.6 million users on Facebook and Instagram. So I click on that and on my 28 milk goes down to this. Obviously, some go down to that. Whilst we add more people, you’ll see it obviously rise up, but you can do if you don’t know what or who else to pick. But you just wanted more of idea, click suggestions.

It shows you other things, so I would put 9 contemporary R & B, because it’s pretty large demographic, pretty large group and also it fits it crosses over a lot. And then, if I was to pick, I don’t know, let’s do TLC mara makes more like old-school nostalgic sounding music. So let’s do nice stuff. Let’s add our show and you don’t to do you don’t have you don’t pick too big of audience guys because you don’t want your budget to it depends what you do if you’re testing then bigger the better, if you’re being specific with Deyo you, don’t it too Big in my opinion anyway – and let’s add one more so these are your groups – Wow hope you can do another little nugget, let’s say, for example, I want to put this ad in front of people that use Spotify.

I’m running a stream now Spotify you’re, going to put it down in front of people that use diesel Apple musical title because they didn’t use the platform. So she uses its you system what you want to do, click narrow audience and then type Spotify say then. Now my 11 million has gone under 4.2 million, which is a good number to leave what you want to do now. The reason why I did that sorry is: I’m now telling Facebook Facebook put my ID in front of people that I can temporarily Kalani lure new TLC uh sure, but they must 100 % they must match.

They must like Spotify as well. So obviously, people that use, but if I was obviously on like Spotify, Oh people, that that are familiar with Spotfire they’re, going to not be like hesitant to like, like a wedding and stuff like that. Okay, so that’s your actual targeting also it what you want to do. You guys is. Maybe, when you have you start a new account that this right here, it’s going to be ticked, please guys on ticking Cohen, is ticked and make sure audience this big.

That’s basically Facebook’s base. This tech basically means okay. These are my five interests, but if you think you can find me, cheap engagement do so. That being said, that means your ad can be prefer in front of people that doesn’t really fit the actual sound or your article ever condition promote so make sure that’s an ticked. You can either save audience, say audience it’s great when it comes to like dealing with customized audiences LinkedIn with Facebook, pixels and and look like audiences.

So that’s another article, because it’s pretty extensive but I’ll leave that for now! Oh, you can save it. If you on a future use it of you wan na edit later on, like you know, let me try one of just men. I want to just women, see what that’s better, because, like I said earlier, you never know how your demographic is going to respond to your to your records. Okay, just scrolling down Oh Mac placements, edit placements – I always edit placements reason being if I my content is formatted for let’s say in it’s a story.

I don’t want to have like a square article on Instagram, because if I scroll down to in the story here you see the example they give you it’s obviously square. It’s not square. Sorry beg your pardon rectangle. You don’t want to have one that starts here and it’s all black you usually send up being messy. It’s. What you want to do is make sure that, whichever your actual ad looks like the size, every the resolution fits on the said platform.

So, let’s just keep it very, very basic: let’s just do Instagram feed I’m taking everything and I my 4.2 should drop so it’s down to 4.9, because obviously that was including Facebook users only server software face were has so we’re only doing on insta story in so Feed sorry scroll down mobile devices, of course, cuz it’s going to be nany my about based optimize, so post engagement. That means your ad is only going to be in front of its can be automatic.

People are going to like and comment and stuff like that. Impressions is more so how many times a screen. You don’t need that and then tell unique reach. I would leave that alone. Only honestly, if it’s an engagement, I just keep on posting giesemann. Realistically, the only things you change here is just two things, your budget and if, when it’s going to start off you’re leaving on an on for continuous time, so me personally, I like using lifetime budgets to be some.

I like using lifetime budgets, because if I try and system you know, I want to spend 300 a month. If I forget so, whatever reason turn it off and I leave on the daily Facebook isn’t going to tell me that hey your ad still on by the way so during lifetime budget is a very, very easy way to introduce yourself to just understanding how you should Budget your ads in the future, because, obviously it doesn’t matter if you’re, if you have a lot of money or if you don’t have a lot of money, you kind of s as much.

You do have a lot to invest in. You want to see how much certain amount of money it’s going to take you we’re going to do an ads, so, let’s just say, for example, clients use 200. Obviously, that’s going to drop because the more ad spend the more the bigger isn’t. Let’s say if I was do something: like 2 grand LC jumps up so yeah, let’s keep at 200 and guys another little nugget how office you want to make sure you guys leave with some from my value and little tricks always always always always always start your Ad from 12 a.

M. To 6 a reason why I say that it’s because, let’s say you’re doing a daily budget or 5-pound and you start to add 5 p.M. You’ve only got a couple of hours until the next day. So what face was going to do is going to try to push it out as much as you possibly can. Having in mind that every single time you know I don’t face work, there is going to be a learning process where Facebook needs to learn.

This needs to learn: okay, all these people and these demographics with these age or these genders, and these interests in these a good essay by our I’ve seen something longer. It depends on the actual audience, but I’d say always always do it in a night, because if you are running it, I live at 12 a.M. By the time people wake up. It’s only going to be optimized, your audience is already going to be learned and what type of stuff.

So let’s say I run it Saturday, 12 a.M. So you have a full month worth of posts of marketing. We can do. You can run as a schedule. Just in case, if you’re trying to catch people at work or if, if it’s like something tailored to people in school or if you’re doing like a school, I don’t know there’s obviously different, actually, because why you’d wan na do that. Personally, I didn’t run at all times: don’t really ever mess around with that just leave it, as is I wouldn’t done a couple of times and it does exist successful, but that’s only for very specific campaigns.

So now that’s all done. You have 3.9 million users audience. Sorry, you click continue now another nugget guys, like I said I wan na make sure you guys leave us some form of value. This is very, very, very important, conscious enough how important this is, because I messed up big time when I first saw dad’s face, but gives you two options. You can either create an ad or create an existing post use existing post.

Sorry always always use an existing post. The reason why I say this is because there’s many ads I’ve gotten a quarter of a million on that you will never ever see on anybody’s feed, because I did a create ad. The only time that is actually only ever active is when IG turned on that. Your ad itself, so my earlier days, I thought oh yeah. Of course I have to create in that yeah. I’ve got some Trinity why? Why would that sound ludicrous if you use existing post all the social proof, all the views, all the comments or the likes or the share not necessary shares class, obviously facing these stuff will always be there.

If I have to add – and I get a hundred thousand – which I normally do – I get a hundred thousand views on article after that ad is finished. It’s still going to be there, it’s not going to disappear. If I decree ad, as soon as I turn off the ad, it’s gone, so I would say you could either do it through. Here you could add manager and you click where’s. The posts page place underneath it and you can schedule it and do that type of stuff, but why I’d say just organically poster how you post anything and then later on you, let you do this.

Click on the Instagram account to make sure goes to this Instagram account. You select the post, you shouldn’t say Facebook page say Instagram. This is like a new update before whatever used to do that, it used to be like a drop-down menu. Click on add either way. Select post, where we doing this an Instagram. I believe this article. This is the article or has article right there and click continue.

Don’t happens. You see, obviously how it looks like on an insulin feed. Obviously, if you use more than one, it shows you more than one how it looks like you’re off you don’t have to add a caption, because the caption is default by whether you use prior then call to action call to action is literally where you want people To go to after they see that if they want to click on it with article views, you have like read more suffer that poor engagement, unfortunately engagement ads.

These are the only options they give you. I always just to learn more and then a comment, but what that’s our youtube link to this article is but let’s just type in YouTube: okay, the reason – and why would you want to keep that there? Oh? Why is she required? Because I know from somebody with that? An actual goal will be pointless if I was doing this ad and I wanted it to go YouTube to get more YouTube views.

If I wanted to also do Google AdWords, we saw see another ballgame, and so Google AdWords not your gig on YouTube, but then I want to do one on Facebook that sends people to youtube they subscribe. I couldn’t do it obviously learn more. I face a pixel. I will be doing a article on that because it’s super super important. The reason why I put a dive so calm, a little breakdown read your face. A pixel is my Facebook pixel, it’s a back encoding that you can literally copy and paste or code in.

If you are familiar with it, part of me, um I face a pixel is literally some code that facebook gives you that you can put in the back end of your website. What the Facebook pixel does is track people’s behavior. You can add individual custom pixels on on different pages like, for example, if one page, I have a show that I’m promoting and another page, I have a ap that I’m promoting another page. I have a competition, let’s say I think, he’s speaking I can put pics on each individual page and whilst people actually go on the actual page, the face of pizza will will knock down that this person went on it.

So you later, when I want something retargeting, I had some people that actually have engaged and about you paid attention to content or pay the things to a certain page on on the website. Then I can be talking them later on people hey and they’re not going to be. This is why sometimes you might be on a website. Let’s say something I was on Airbnb couple days ago, just looking around and then that’s, where being beat add a baby definitely uses facing pixels, because this little thing kid I have on my Google Chrome, it’s called a Facebook pixel helper.

You can download it from Google Chrome store where you literally any website go on. It tells me they have a pixel, not sound. Already cool I’ve got me under there. They are so regarding back to the actual tutorial. This is something that’s a bit more advanced because basic pixel ties into custom audiences that ties into look-alike audiences and that’s a whole nother realm, but this whole article that we’ve just sat in and all she works.

This is probably the easiest way that you guys can actually gain traction and getting real viewers, real engagement, real people that actually like your music to actually read music. Apart from that, I don’t think, there’s nothing else. Oh yeah! What you want to do. Click review make sure that you’ve named everything, because if you have more than one ad it could get confusing, because obviously Facebook doesn’t create separate names or separate ads and stuff like that, so you and EFC this cold winter.

It’s on the engagement, let’s say that’s my age group. I might be a forward, slash spot fine top six and then I might add, the actual interest might be like this and then he be like winter article and then ready click confirm mostly confirm this. I’m going to need, add, could the snow and I’d read it running, I’m only using the tutorial click confirm this will pop up okay, so this will pop up and then you’ll see it went to engagement interview, take some time for Facebook to actually accept it and Actually have a live, especially if you got a new account, so if you are, how do you have a new account? Give it like a good hour or two just so before? Yes, you would wan na do it because I see the cause in the actual ad set.

Let me quickly show you go back in here. I can pick obviously when yeah she’s going to start. So obviously, if you did prior, I say yes, I do. I run this hall at 9 p.M. And I finish it by 9:30. It was still land when I need to do it, so she give me some time prior but yeah guys. That’s literally how you do Facebook ads for musicians and bands. They know this was helpful. Let me know if you guys need any more tips them.

You know if you want more content regarding pixels, look-alike audiences and stuff like that. But again, Facebook is such an amazing platform to use because it’s so cost effective. Google AdWords is an amazing platform as well. I might do a article on that, but Google AdWords are a bit more premium. I think, basically, because of how vast their search engine is and what they actually know, but um yeah any questions.

Let me know comments below. Let me know if you would want to know anything specific, but yeah

Frist Impressions: Opinel Knives and an 80’s Boy Scout Knife

This is the open, L, carbon steel and it’s the number seven it’s made of beechwood and, of course, like I mentioned, the blade is carbon steel. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a carbon steel blade or if I wanted to do a stainless steel, and I opted to get both this one. I got locally because it was available and this is the number seven and then I also recently got it still in the box, but I thought I’d show that as well.

I got this off of Amazon. This is a number eight and this is done in olive wood, so open that up just a little off camera here and I’ll show you the difference in size and the difference in wood. Here we go so this is the unit move that down and it’s done in a stainless steel blade and it’s done in olive wood, and this would be the number eight which is always labeled there on the rim. Now, on this little locking mechanism, it’s really interesting knife.

So if they didn’t have this locking mechanism, I’m just going to turn this back to Center this one’s a bit tight, then it would just be up-and-down, and originally the knives from opinel were like that they were just a nice piece of wood. You would open up the blade, I mean notice, I’m doing this with two hands, because this one’s quite stiff, this would be it. The blade would stay open when you’re pushing applying pressure on it.

Obviously it wouldn’t go back down, but there would be a chance that it could end up opening up in your pocket, and so I’m assuming just with that in mind and I believe around world war ii opinel invented this little lock ring. And this allows you to turn the ring right there, as I just did, which will lock the blade from opening and if you have it opened it will then lock the blade from closing and i’ve seen a lot of articles out.

There were people put in. Quite a lot of pressure downwards on this to try to force that – and this does a really good job. This locking locking does really a job. So here we can say the blade of the olive wood. It says in ox which I believe in French is translated to like na trustable in aqsa dibala. I may be wrong, so excuse my friendship. I honk it is a nice nice, somewhat shiny, blade. I’ve heard a few things about the the difference between the blades.

So I’m going to leave this open with the olive wood and I’ll open up the number seven besides a size. That’s why I wasn’t sure which blade to go with and or I wasn’t sure which steel to go with, and then this is the number seven. This one is the number eight. This is a standard model here. This is beech. Wood, like I said this is olive wood. The beech wood comes quite standard with the base models, and these are not.

These are quite reasonable. This one particular one, I believe, is about twelve dollars and maybe less on some stores cost me about twelve dollars plus tax. This one was closer to twenty, because the carbon steel requires a little bit more maintenance. Some people aren’t really fancy to it. The stainless steel doesn’t require it won’t rust, whereas the carbon steel could potentially rust. So there are a lot of youtubers that will put some form of acid on the blade to force a patina, and if you don’t do that as long as you like make sure that it’s not in a moist setting it’s it’s staying dry, then over time.

It will develop its own patina, which can be really nice. The other really nice thing about carbon steel and I readed another YouTube article and if I remember the name I’ll put it up in a little box at the top here. But they were talking about how they like their the the flat edge at the back. And I’m going to close the knife, so I can show you with the knife, closed and locked, there’s this flat edge here and you could use that.

Let me just make sure it’s in focus. You could use that against a striking pad of some sorts, a flint per se, to start a fire where it’s a stainless steel. You wouldn’t be able to do that, so that can be really nice if you were taking this out camping. I also, if I’m honest with you for EDC I’ve had these for about a week now, both of them I’ve carried the carbon. I got this one first, so this one less than a week, but but for the most part a week for both I’ve carried this one for a few days in my pocket and I’ve carried the number eight, this number seven fits perfectly in my pocket.

It disappears. I don’t notice it. I’ve used it to go down and open up some parcels that have arrived. I’ve taken it with me to open up other forms. I’ve had to cut some other things randomly, and this has been great. There have no problems with it. Like I said, it’s super lightweight disappears in the pocket now the number 8, though I think the number 8 fits my hand a little bit better. It’s just it’s almost the perfect size for the hand and the blade length is really nice with it.

It’s because they obviously take it and scale it up. The wood is quite the circumference of the wood is quite a lot bigger, and this means that there’s a bulge in the pocket. So I don’t. I don’t like this much as much in my pocket as I do like the the number 7, so you can see in my pocket. I don’t have these technically together in my pocket. I may have it with my lip job. There’s some burpees! That’s about half the size, so comparing it with the number 8, then I could take the number 8 out now I’ll.

Take this one out place it. You can see that it is much taller right, but it’s more the circumference! I don’t know if I can put these on top of the circumference of the knife is bigger. Now between the Steel’s, I’m really fancying the carbon steel. I like things a patina. I like the fact that it has a few other purposes that you could use it for, especially for EDC and for camping reasons, and I think I like the fact that the number 7 is a little easier to carrier carry.

I wish that the carbon steel was offered with different woods. That’s my wish. I really like this olive wood. I, like the walnut out there, there’s lots of different wood options. You can choose, but carbon steel is only offered from my understanding right now on opinel. It’s only offered on the beech wood and it’s a standard blade, which means it is the base model and then, of course, these things can go up as high as like few hundred dollars, depending on that not necessarily the type of stainless steel, but whether it’s polished And the type of wood you can get wood all the way from Africa, olive wood from the Mediterranean.

You can get oak dark oak lots of things. You can even get a blade. That’s black, like a black stainless steel blade. So those are those knives. My first impression is I like them. I think these things are great, like I said, really lightweight both of them. Obviously, the heavier models will go up. The wood mate depending up you won’t go with a stainless steel. Knee just ride, decide to change the wood.

The wood may be a little denser than other woods, but both of these woods are quite light. They fit really nice in the hands. I like them, locking mechanism when it’s locked the blades not going to go anywhere. I will say that the carbon steel came out of the box with a super-sharp and it’s it’s still ridiculously sharp and the seal is still not so much, and I’ve heard other viewers talk about that as well.

Like I said, these are very reasonably priced. Any of these would be fine. I’m heard lots of viewers that have had a stainless steel for years and then just decided hobby wise to go to carbon. I think I’m most likely going to stick with this more as an EDC. I may or might not keep this or may or just put in my camping kit or may even give it to a friend as a gift, because they’re quite reasonable.

If you have any questions about open all knives, I’m going to put some links for both of these in the descriptions below both of those links are where I purchased the knives. So you can follow those I’ll put something up, put a link for the actual website of opinel, so you can look through there. The knife I’d like to get is the gardener’s knife, which has a nice rounding handle on it, but the one thing that I would like to see it again as I’d like to see if it if it eventually came with a carbon blade from so I’m going To show you in the package that first came with this says Boy Scouts of Canada, and it looks like this is like a bench and leather, because it’s slowly fading.

I’ve used it for these last couple years. Camping and it’s been great, but it was a little whiter prior to me using it and if I take it out of its sheath and just move that to the side. This is the knife here, so it came with this original string there. It says Boy Scouts of Canada that it that is, and it ends up focusing. It’s got some brass, I believe, on the sides here, some brass rivets looks like it’s a stainless steel.

You can see some patina on the knife and a nice hole. It is quite heavy, especially after carrying the opinel knives. As far as the knife goes, we’ve got a knife section. This is going to be a longer knife than the open, L and I’ll try to lower that down. I don’t know much about knives to talk about like the belly and all that or the blade or the or where the edges is I’m just I’m new to all of this thumb things I was just doing some research to get a knife that would be to Replace this for weight reasons, but also to replace this, because it’s not holding an edge very well.

You can see it’s stainless steel made in China, so I don’t know if that’s talking about the quality of this, like I said it’s a boyscout blade, it does lock. The locking mechanism is down here. You can push on the locking mechanism and then it folds back in, and it also has a saw so I’ll – show you that so I was a little stiffer to get out. There’s your saw bottle opener and a flathead screwdriver.

In the end I have used the saw when I was boy scouting to do a couple fires and to chop down some specific kind of wood and again it locks as well. So you push would have to push the lock and then you could pull the back in and that’s it. I comes with a nice sheath there. It is in comparison to size to the open Elle’s. We can just put them on the ends there and you can see this is the biggest knife here.

That’s my knife collection. I wish I wouldn’t have got these if this would have held an edge to be honest with you just because the history also my grandpa’s knife somewhere. It’s a foldable knife like a Swiss Army knife, if I find it out I’ll do another article, but if anybody out there knows information on this type, if this was mass-produced or knows anything about the type of knife it is. I love.

Let me know in the comments below some information or put put send this article to someone specific and we can get in touch just because I really like the knife and I’d like to learn more about it. And potentially I’d like to keep this. For a long time, in the meantime, I’m most likely going to keep the seven I find that easier in the pocket, and I really like the carbon blade, there’s nothing wrong with the stainless steel blade.

It’s just that it requires obviously a bit more work here to sharpen it. I really like the wood, and I wanted to check out a number eight number eight. By the way, going back is probably the most popular size that’s been ever sold by opinel. It was considered just the perfect size for people’s hands. Number eight or number seven would be for smaller hands, but for a lot of this lightweight EDC carry in your pocket with less things.

This is really nice. I do agree, though this feels a little bit more comfortable in the hand. If you got any questions, any comments please leave them below and if you’re new to my blog feel free to subscribe, like the article give it a thumbs up, you

MINIMALIST PERSONAL PLANNER | FLIP THROUGH | FILOFAX RICHMOND

I have a flip through a detail flip through of my personal file, sacks Richmond planner. I did a flip through on my Instagram, but I wasn’t too too specific of the things that is in here. How I set things up, but I’ll give you a detailed look now. So if you’d like to see what I have in my personal Richmond final facts, stay tuned, ok guys.

So the first thing I got this planner from the thrift store just found all of them on my posh I’ll. Try to leave a link to my parchment ich, but I’m last year started finding all these planners people were getting rid of planners like the beginning of the year and they were nice planners. I could tell they were nice planners, they just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t really into grains at the time and now think about it.

There were some pocket rings that I had, and I so so I was in a Thurston when they just on a whim looking for stuff to sell on my posh and came across this one. So I asked my Instagram friends like: should I sell it because I kind of knew it was worth something which I’m just drawn to expensive stuff anyway, but I knew this is worth something and most of my ex-girlfriends like no. You need to keep that.

So I’m sorry I’ll keep it so I attempted minimal planning in here. It didn’t go so well. All I did was check my orders and that’s it in the state on my desk, nothing more nothing less so this year I said I’m going to give it another. Try and I’m just going to set it up for the cheap. I don’t want to spend a lot of money with purchasing inserts from my cost and paper and other places, and I don’t use it like.

I didn’t use it last year so anyway, I purchased this on clip here from Ollie clip I’ll try to leave the link below. I love love, love, love these and again. I’d only think I paid maybe five dollars for this. It was less, I believe highly. It was less probably three – I don’t know so here on the left side, which I think is getting a little drinky. I have this paperclip because a lot of the little dots that I use I need to purchase, I mean I need to pick them up with the paperclip.

I have this little Schlag I made out of some vellum that I got from like Michaels. This little paper clip I need last year sometime. It is just something I think I downloaded off of Pinterest. I turned it into a die crack laminate it and just stuck a paper clip in there. This die cut is a die cut. I was selling at one point and a sticker, and it is just a chandelier like that, and then I just threw these in here, because I found them on my desk and they are just some little icons.

Go for you or either rose. Gold rose gold for real icons and then this is a freebie from Jessica. I don’t know Jessica Pearson, I don’t know, and then I have this little underling card. It was a pack of like journaling cards. I got out of Julian’s, I believe, and then on the inside here I was cleaning up my room and opened the box from simply gilded. I believe it was my last subscription box, and it’s just I don’t know, I think it’s a journaling card as well, probably be six or pocket-size, and then I just have some bows here from Nicki plus three.

I have some bows here that are from panda bird design I’ll try to remember to leave all the links below of everything that I got, and these are just, I think, their date separators pay separators. I forgot what you call them. You just separate like you’re on your date. They separate or I believe, and then these are some that I made. I think they were too thick. I might take those out and then I got these from Brooklyn grace coat last year, but they was so hard to get off the paper and I haven’t tore him up, and so when I ordered my inserts from her last year.

This is what I got. I’m going to retire these two, and so I’m going to put okay moving a wall. This is a piece of acetate that I cut for this planner got this from either Michaels or Joanne’s. I have some sticky notes on here. I had more, but they was just coming off so whatever, and then I made this dashboard a laminating paper and a simply gilded. Although the king in a subscription – and I just put it down in the lamination and waiting – we’ve danced for it and then this planner will have probably more colors than in my eight-five business, but this is from digital.

I love Starbucks yeah. I love it. I love coffee, and so when I saw that this was available, I was like yes, I got ta pretend something. So this is what I have here, and this is a dashboard that came with the planner it needs to be, but it came with the planner, so clear, divider and then this is a download from Pinterest that I did and then here’s another download from Pinterest that I did also I’ll try leave my Pinterest below and I have a whole Planning section on there.

Some things were saved to there. Some things are not and I’ll just leave that below and then here is some vellum. Is this like a pink or peach? It looks a little yellowish, but I just use that on the top of my class and then here on my year at a glance, I took some guts from planner Kate and just put all the important birthdays and pretty much and then, of course, my anniversary and Then like, if there’s a vacation or something I’ll, add another dot, but so far oh I do have a vacation.

I need to edit that I’ll do that later and then here we go you guys. So this is cardstock that I purchased from Walmart and I just turned them into the writers and then put all my months here and then I just throw some clear on paper. But the dates I’m feeling with the months on it and then just add them to the chance, and I really thought I was going to need to have them closer together. And then I really didn’t so.

I kind of space them out a little bit more, but nonetheless, here they are, and this is January this is my monthly view for January and that I have just a little flag here from cloths and paper, I’m just like a transparent flag and that’s just to Let me know what month I’m on and then I have this kind of color coded the black represents the bills. These are things like. Maybe I paid I’m here are my pity.

The little saying these little flag quarter, flags here corner. Excuse me transparent stickers from thoughts and paper. This is from this. Guy is from planner Kate. These are the ones that I made the black dots and just kind of color cosine. I was scrolling on and what was paid or what needs to be done or what’s going on, these coils represent my Etsy pay days, and then I just put this flag here to know what month I’m going.

I can just go right to it so I’ll move. It from month to month so these are the rest of the months and these are the dashboards and what they look like and then here’s a dashboard. I made myself out of a school plastic file from Walmart when it was school time they had. These sounds with the phone proto valves, your folder excuse me these black plastic folders and they were like 50 something cent and I think I bought like two or three.

I actually bought more. I put one in purple and I decided to cut them up and put my that was my plan for them anyway, and to put them in my micro. So I should have got more, but I did find this paper and this material excuse me as staples I’ll. Probably go back and get it, but I’m not. I think I can hold out to school time again to meetings or dashboards, and then I just have this coffee die-cut here that I’ve downloaded probably on Pinterest and a little hard paper clip here that came in to order.

And then I just stuck a little bow here from I’m simply gilded back here and then here’s a little card thing I made to stick in here and, as you can see, most of my sticking hosts came off, but it’s okay. I still have these, so I just stuck these here. Let’s see if I can show you so what I did was. I ordered College off of Amazon I’ll leave the link below they are just these clear acetate, they’re, not even acetate.

I don’t even know what this is, but they’re like business card size and I just stuck some sticky tape. Whatever sticky notes, sticky Flags on there and then stuck it in there, it’s a little tight fit. That’s why I can’t really get it out. So when I get it out and definitely need it, I also made. Let me show you guys: you’ll see that in the back, what else I’d get with them and I bought so many because I want to use some pants like when I do freebies and things just to add.

Maybe two orders or giveaways different things like that and then so over here are some more transparent Flags, some sticky Flags here and this right pocket came with this planner yeah. When I say I got the best deal ever and I’m not even going to begin to tell you what I was going to sell it for, but um this, these little sticky post-it notes. I got they’re like transparent and then they have a little bit of white on them and you’ll see later how I use them, but also I like to use them for notes, and so it came in a pack of two.

Let me see if I have the original package – and this is what the package looks like, so it comes like this so and I think they have my Walmart, but I got mine out of staples. Oh, let me show you the ones I got at a Walmart and I just like to keep them here, so I can make notes like sticky notes with these, so that goes there. This is a die cut that I printed last year that was in here. That was just sitting here and I just left it, and here are the sticky notes that I got from Walmart and you can use these to like hold the page same thing here, put it here, so that you know to get to something.

The only thing is that I didn’t like about this. Someone has suggested these where they said they took. I guess the color part off, but you can’t take that color for long and so the color part doesn’t come off, but it’s great. If you just want to put just a tiny bit of color and get to a certain section, you can flip right there, and so I love this little pocket. I actually want more, but I don’t know if I’ll be ordering from the final sex sake I’ll see.

Who else has these, and then I have a piece of vellum here from digital dash that I appointed myself from that if you’re not signed up for digital sign up for it. So here is that cardstock that I made into a dashboard – and this is basically my weekly this is – I wanted to just like – get rid of this one and keep this one. But I really like the feel of this and it’s been in here and I just decided to keep it so this is pretty much going into my weekly and then here is my weekly and another Ollie clip, and then this was last week how I planned last Week, I’m just again not a lot of stickers, just basically pen to paper and a highlighter, so I just use this to close off that week.

So now that’s like this is this week, and so I still have some more planning to do, and I just use some washi tape, my few tape to mark off the decimide day off and then for a little touch of color. I added this little sticker here from Miss applause and then this little paper clip. I had him in my shop. I was going to sell them at one point, but I decided since reason as freebies. The ones that have coming now are black and I just wanted to try the black ones, and this is too cute.

Oh, this insert came from Brooklyn grace Co. I downloaded these. That’s what I like the matter of sight when I first started. Trying to minimal plan is that I could just download and so pretty much all my inserts come from Brooklyn grease and they’re never going into my daily and daily. Basically, is me kind of doing my schedule daily task priorities, things like that, and then here is a laminating pocket that I made myself with just a lot clip to keep it close, and then my mom gave me a Michaels gift card for Christmas Michaels.

These are the little tiny dots that I made myself oh and some transparent paper. These are the no spin stickers from my shop and then I took these stickers from my happy planner. I think this is from the mini and just keep them in here. So I can get my calendar this back here this undated, and then this came from thread of cake. This is how it came and I just cut it. It came like that, and I just cut it because these only the colors that I want to use at the present time – and I want to keep in mind this planner here.

Ok, so again, this is my little laminating pocket and then it goes into my daily, and this is just where I write daily tasks. Things I need to do. I’ve only done one day is undated, which is perfect. For me. I don’t have a few. We only have a few here because I’m going to replant some of these – and I just try to stick to these when it’s just dealing things I need to do, and I have a lot going on and then I made this dashboard here from laminating and some Vinyl that I had and then I will sticker of the Louboutin purse I kind of wanted to just represent.

I wanted to kind of be like a window to the next and this pretty much what it looks like and I love it and this divider. I pointed from Pinterest and then this double sided with a lady with some leopard heels and some hands. I got asked in my Instagram when I posted this on Instagram, like how do you search for certain things on Instagram? The best thing I can tell you is put in like illustration, like the girl in the illustration, whatever you want make sure you put it in like illustration or what is the other words clipart and then one thing I’ll lead you to another.

That’s how I found so many things if I looked up girl illustration of Vogue illustration, it just led me to so many different classic things and then here’s another on dashboard that I made from that folder that black folder for Walmart. I had a little bit left over and then I cut it into a dashboard. This is my list section and then here is some more artwork. I got from Pinterest and I just printed out made into a dashboard and then that is well from Pinterest, and this is my list section so here I just have certain lists my grocery, my hair beauty products like what I need grocery like where me Etsy things That I need for that for my business and then this is my budget section again that same folder.

I had it cut on my so I cut it on my silhouette and just made into tabs and these tabs. I tried to line them up so that they all kind of go together. This one should like that, so that way they’re kind of uniform. So this is my budget section. I did these on my Silhouette as well just use some clear, sticky paper and then just go for you get and I ran it through my laser machine and then this is just a piece of leftover vellum from some envelopes.

I was making for co-worker up like this, how it is I just stuck it there to represent the dollars and it’s funny to look at cuz, it’s kind of iridescent, so it looks. Gold in some areas rose. Gold and doing looks perfectly sound like that, and then this is my budget for the month and I’m just trying to keep up on my expenses, and I had mentioned on Instagram, I’m working on my own budget inserts printables.

Just for myself for also me and my coworker are doing some things just for hairstylist, so I will keep you all up on that and then here is another dashboard that I created I’m using Pinterest artwork and that’s her and then here is a dashboard that I Made laminating paper, and then I just set those sticky notes, we’re sticking ups that I showed you guys that’s what this is, and this is my note section like this is a you know.

How like this is my note section, and then I made this note paper from camera, so I don’t have any notes and then this is my inbox section and I took that same sticky, paper and you’re able to write on it. Let me show you guys: I don’t want to waste these things, because I really love these things and I probably could do someone, but you can just lay them on there and do like little notes to yourself and I’m thinking this is the pin that I use Was this pilot, precise v7r T it writes so well on there and you can see now I wouldn’t suggest all right away, and so I didn’t see it smudges.

But if you wait a little bit, it won’t smudge and then you can just write on that and just stick them in your dashboards or you can just stick them on pages, because it’s and then I have this little peach thing here to remind me that this Is my inbox and that I got something in here that I need to get myself attention to you as I do this one here. Let me know what month I’m going and I’m going to make a little cute card for that.

I learned that from Maddie but many plans, and then I had this little dashboard and also white. I just like the colors and she hates all that good stuff, but I couldn’t one so I was going to take it out, see this rips out. We pray and then this is my little inbox I’m I want to do this on black, but I do this on camera and I just left it just as some extra paper and then I mean I can put my little sticky notes, one to your right stuff And then this is my order tracker.

So I leave that in my inbox section that lets me know to give attention to see what hasn’t came. How are you taking something to come and then I have a few of those yeah and then this is the ruler that came with the planner. This planner just came so well equipped, I mean with everything it even had a little world map. It even had the monthly inserts like this, but they just wasn’t the color, and I was looking for so I took those out and then it came with this here, this little plastic envelope that opens on the side here and I just have a drilling Carter.

On top with another printout from Pinterest, then here in the back, I have these from my shop when I had my website and they’re, just some paid amount, whatever sickness I have this clip here, I got from a printer babe at a little planner Meetup, I’m caring. So she had made something clips with that on there and I like it, because it’s just cute – and this is what I did with those clear things I showed you before I made these washes strips this one.

I had already made with the little chopping boards from the Dollar Tree, but when I got these, I just thought these were more sturdy and I’d leave. This blank went in here to cut my washi tape, so I just took some random washi tape that I had. I had this neutral tape and I thought that would go good with the static of my planner and these are the washi tapes that are using this. I just added these like last night, so y’all didn’t see this on my stories because I hadn’t been there yet.

I decided last night to kind of put those in the air and then back here I have a freebie from Miss Moss and I just leave it in there. So when I want to add a little color to the planner and edit her to mine, and then I have this pin here from Michele, absolutely love and I’m going to use this pin to write on that sticky tape and see how I keep doing it. No one is going to merge, so that is the complete flip through of my planner.

Thank you guys so much for reading. I hope you enjoy this slip through I’m in love with this planner. I just can’t believe that last year this will not last you this time, but last year, when I went to use this, I just couldn’t. I didn’t know I guess how to use it. I tried minimum planning last year and I said on my Instagram stories that I think happy planner came out was wrong. Something like that and I got sidetracked and I just never returned to her, not even like we’re putting the orders in, because that’s all that I was doing sprinting disorders in I didn’t really know.

I tried decorating her for me to like her, but I think because I started with the rings and what’s going into a TN, I just don’t want to keep going into rings, but now I’ve been in her everyday. I love it. I love it. I’ll continue to be a decorative functional planner, but I will also be a minimalist planner on my everyday things that need to get done. I don’t feel pressured to sticker my day or show you guys that I’ve decorated for the week I’ll be doing flip through periodically.

In here, so that you can see how my days of God, if you want to see more minimal planning, please let me know in the comment section because I will be happy to again – I’m new to it like. I just think personally, it’s a lot going on in here. There is not that memo, so it’s still not that minimal. But to me it is the minimum, because I don’t have to stick up my mom. I don’t have to stick her my days or my niece, like I said I put a sticker here, but it’s still minimal.

It’s just not a whole like a full box or quarter box at all that this is black and white, and that just works for me because I can play in without feeling guilty that I didn’t show you guys how I planned so again. If you want to see for throughs of my minimal planner or a more consistent basis, let me know so we’ll do like a flip through at the end of the mob or maybe like weekly will just show flip through us.

You know, however, just let me know and as I update her and change things around I’ll, definitely give you guys a flip through of that. But again, if there’s something that you’re interested in, please let me know thank you all so much for reading. If you’d like to see more for myself hit that subscribe, button hit that notification barrel so that you notified your notified whenever I do a blue content again, if you are interested in weekly, sprayer, more planning, budgeting, DIY planners planner related anything planner related.

How The TikTok Formula Will Transform Music Industry (It Already Is!!!)

Com, because I saw myself now we got to talk about two major ways that tick tock is it’s ruining music and a lot of people’s opinion, but really the impact will be everlasting and A lot of people aren’t even seeing it right now all right for me. It started on January 22nd of 2018, when I said there would be a unique artist with a unique hit.

That’s only 15 seconds long, but some people didn’t take it too. Well, people are saying things like absolutely not lol. I can’t see it being 15 seconds I wouldn’t enjoy it. Maybe 30 seconds see I’m a push back on that, because there’s already some 15 seconds hits out there and y’all actually probably know of them. Michie got moves said. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus and Bull City, Dion said maybe 30 seconds, but not 15 seconds.

That’s not enough time for anything, but understand. I’m not saying that everybody will create 15-second music, not intentionally at least, but I am saying the format will become more popular and hits will occur and before I get into that, what better way to actually make the point then starting with music in the first place. So we’re going to show some examples of why this has already been present in some ways anyway in music over the years, because there’s been a lot of odd moments in music.

So, let’s start with rowdy, which, though, if you know about rowdy rich rowdy rich, is a rapper from Compton. He’s really been rising it up starting in 2018, and he has a song with marshmallow EDM producer. The song is called project dreams. It’s about two to three minutes, long, that’s it, but somebody actually took this song and they looked it for an hour, and I know that sounds weird, just listening to the same song, looped and loop in luton and looped it for an hour.

But for one we do like to hear certain songs on repeat, but this song being looped for an hour sounds absurd. However, I’m not going to lie when I was playing this just to see what it sound like. I end up long portion of this, and I was feeling it personally but check out some of these comments as well. Now, out of all these comments, the most interesting one is Jase Jones. This is my second time listening to this in a year.

Oh and if you go to the article you’ll see that his comment isn’t the only one like that, so just being able to listen to one song again and again and again and again and again is interesting. So if you want to argue for the 15 second hit, let’s think about the fact that some people say that’s too short. But don’t we already listen to songs and repeat so? Maybe people might want to just loop that for like three minutes and then they still get their feel just like.

We listen to other songs and repeat and just listen and listen and listen. Even if you think about how certain production is made. Some people literally take 15 seconds nine seconds 20 seconds of a beat and then they’ll loop it and that creates the entire beat for the song. So that’s something to consider as well. For example, this song by a group named mandrill is called children of the Sun. Came out in 1972 people and it’s a five-minute song.

You know it used to make some long songs back then. This is probably short for a song back then, but what’s important is from 314 in this track to 325 there’s this portion of the song. That sounds nothing like the rest of the song in that portion. That 11 second stretch was actually repeated again and again and again in a song called. They know by shawty low for three minutes long, so they took an 11 second sample and then literally just looped.

It for three minutes, and that became a hit when you think about something like that is not even that foreign of a concept I would play the two songs and instead, I’m going to put them in the description below just because you know YouTube with these. Copyright strikes, I ain’t trying to get one and I’ll make sure I provide the timestamp below as well, so you can easily see where they match up, but let’s play some other songs that were legitimate hits in their time.

That song only had six unique words in it: the entire song and we talked about format and why it happened. It’s going to be a glaring insight for you to understand why tick tock is going to be a huge part of this moment in a way that some people don’t understand, but here’s another song only has about 15 unique words in it. Here’s another song with only a few sentences and here’s another song with only a few sentences.

Now, while I use so many examples, well just to show the range, if you’re already able to have songs to only have a few words in it again and again, and they become hits or songs, they have the same beat over and over and again and they Become Beats, or you have songs that only have like two or three sentences and the whole song, and all these things that become hits in their own way. It’s not so bizarre when you think about it that way to have a short song, especially when you think about the capability for it to just be looped.

Just like the marshmallow Andrade, Rich project, dreams track and as a reminder, you can see links to any of the articles or just music that I’m referencing in the description below. But let’s get back to tick, tock, so co2 child fast. Now some people actually know the song. Some people don’t realize they’ve heard the song, but trust me there’s a good chance that you might have heard this song. So, but let me go ahead and play the snippet buzz fo hundred on the fifty five bills per city.

Footage now I played a real short snippet of stepping at the beginning of this article because it took off on tick-tock and fast did the same thing, and this is where it gets interesting, though, because if you go to the YouTube article, that’s where you can listen To the full track versus just you know, being on tick-tock, look in the comments and you’ll see something pretty interesting. Business from area 51 said at six seconds: tick tock has entered the check in at 22 seconds tick.

Tock has left to chat. Now that’s about 16 seconds when that adds up, but even somebody named babby BAC said maybe 20 seconds actually so that takes it down to 14 seconds either way it goes. You can see we’re straddling this 15 seconds that I’m talking about. So what exactly does that allude to? What does it mean? Well, the big point that I made in my original article is musically, first and foremost, because musically was the thing back then it was it tick tock, but you get it they’re.

The same thing at this point and on musically people be listening to this content right, I might take a song, let’s just say, fast, existed back then, and then I’m listening to multiple people take the exact same loops from the song and then also dance to that Song for the most part, because either I’m a content creator, I’m trying to jump in so I’m going to take that same 15 seconds or I’m the listener and I’m just reading all these different pieces of content.

But I’m not necessarily going back to the same song. So to clarify the impact of that and what that actually looks like, let’s think about the platform, tick-tock who’s, taking the challenge method right, and they basically put that on crack. It’s exploded. It’s a far greater version that then we’ve seen on any other app at the time. I’m recording this article, the music article for fast, has four million views.

Now, if we go to Spotify, we can see that there’s 31 million streams of it and I’m sure it’s around that number as well somewhere on Apple. That’s a lot of place, people for it to have blowing up on that platform because for y’all who don’t know so good, a child did use tik tok to blow this song up. But at the end of the day, if you go back to tick tock, you see three million. Ninety seven thousand 44 post on fast.

What does that mean? That’s not streams right! That’s not place! That’s unique articles that was created on this, so you’re talking about four million views on the music article versus three million different articles, no telling how many individual plays each article collectively got in this category, but what we can do is just scroll a look at a Few of them this one article on fast got 2.4 million streams, this other one 1.

7 million 1.6 million – where are already clearly above the amount of place for the music article 1.3 million 1.2 million 1.2. 1.2. 1.1. All right now just 70 that, like we’re slowly getting down there right, but it’s going to take a while, and we have three million of these articles. So I guarantee you that these articles add up to over 31 million streams. So, let’s stop and think about a few things one.

You will have a lot of people we’ll hear this and then they go find it in other places because they’re like yo. I really like this song and then some of those views on the music article and the streams on Spotify they’re, coming from completely outside of tick-tock people, and I hadn’t seen it on tick-tock. So there’s a huge portion on tick-tock. That only saw the articles posted on the platform, and this is really going to lead to this second huge impact that tick tock is going to have that I’ll mention at the end of the article.

But for now focusing on this, you have to realize this means that a lot of people only know the intro. Basically, they only know a hook to the song, basically even further an article on the ringer that com called memes or the new pop stars how tick tock became the future of the music industry has a quote by a guy named Jack. Who’s worked at companies like planned, hora and United masters, and he said, YouTube created a class of five-minute content.

I’m curious if tick-tock will create the 15 or 60-second song and then that journalist writes the error of the tick-tock single is upon us, and why are they saying this? Well, one of the big arguments that I stated on why I see the 15-second song as a real thing and a real possibility is because it’s all about formatting. They mentioned YouTube just because of the amount of time that it allowed of content to be posted.

But then, at the end of the day, when people were playing around with the amount of time that actually creates an effective article on YouTube at a specific era, it was around 5 minutes right and it’s all about what the actual platform allows. Tick-Tock does allow for. 60-Second content, which is why the person in the quote said the 15 or 60 seconds song but 13 to 15 seconds, is where you see the most viral post consistently on tick-tock and that’s important to consider.

So we were thinking about content and format, restrictions, particularly around the success right where people are finding that people are going to mimic the areas and things that give them success on specific platforms and the limitations of whatever the success formula is is how people will adjust To once the content creators are just to it, then you have the consumers who become adjusted as well, because they are consuming that consistently somebody who’s born in nineteen, eighty or nineteen ninety something it might not be completely adjusted to listening to really short music into them.

It sounds absurd, but then you have somebody else coming up that is used to that format. They hear a lot of the content and consume these bite-sized pieces. So it’s not that bad of a concept and to truly solidify how it’s not just whatever we want to create what we think sounds good and more about the restrictions, the forces to do things differently if we still want to find the same success, let’s revisit the Old song that I mentioned earlier in this article fly Robin fly now remember the thing that was so unique about.

This was the fact that it only had six unique words in the entire song. We can count it out on the screen, but what’s more interesting is when you find out why they had only six unique words in the song? So here’s the truth. The group who sang that song, his name is silver convention silver convention is a West German euro disco recording act right. The group is not from America, and English is not their native language.

So when actually writing a song that they wanted to become a hit, they knew they couldn’t just create an entire song in German that would become a hit over in the US if they could. That would be really really hard. So, let’s just opt for creating a song in English. However, if the entire song was too intricate a unique, it was going to be far too many words for them to remember personally, so they needed to make it super simple and something that they could easily remember and perform over and over again the restrictions that they Faced in this case, not knowing English well enough to really be able to remember it forced them to create a different type of hit.

It just so happens making it super simple for themselves made it super simple for everybody else to remember right and now you can think about other people who don’t know English and those other languages. Now that you can know the whole song, because you’re only saying six words so before we get into how tick tock is secretly warping, genres and music in ways that people do not realize. I got a question if you sing something right.

If you dance to a piece of content, if you remember it, and then you hum it over and over again, what’s the difference? Is that not a song? Does that not qualify or do we have to go by what somebody else’s definition is of a song? Is I’d argued that this is why, again and again, from generation and generation, we’re always arguing what’s real music and was not real music, we’re trying to define something undefinable so what’s to say that 15 seconds isn’t a song now I do understand that there’s a large Amount of people that waits for a larger group of people or some sort of perceived authority to acknowledge something before they can see that it’s happening, but ignoring the fact that this thing is happening right now.

This really isn’t a future thing. It’s truly happening already in its own way, not being able to do this, just because it hasn’t been acknowledged in media. There’s, no clear data for this. It’s the same thing as waiting until 2016-17, where people are like yo hip-hop is the number one genre just because streaming allowed for people to truly measure his impact, even though it had already been number one for like 15-20 years.

People who pay attention see this when it’s happening, and they understand it early on. It’s usually the big corporations right in the larger media that wait to understand these things because they’re at the top, which leads back to exposing tick-tocks influence on music and again. Here’s another quote from the wringer article and you’ll be able to find a link to that article in the description below, but a 16 year old girl said this who’s using tick-tock heavily, but she actually has this Instagram page that has compilations of tick-tock.

But anyway, the quote said: I didn’t really listen to rap before I got really invested into tick-tock, but I’ve been listening to a lot more starter rap, which I have no idea. What starter rap is because of it. The thing to really think about and hone in on from this particular quote, is the fact that the reason she wasn’t listening to hip-hop or rap was because you know that just wasn’t what she was into.

I guess right or that wasn’t her environment. She didn’t perceive it as something for her. Maybe she didn’t even like it. She felt like not a not for me, based on the surface level perception of what’s going on in hip-hop. However, when she got on Tik Tok right hip-hop is that genre there’s so much of the music is borrowing from so with that being said, she’s looking at all this content, these 15 seconds newbies and I’m being entertained through dance and these other types of content that Are happening on the platform, but the backdrop of this content is the music and a lot of this music happens to be rap.

That slowly builds familiarity. It becomes a gateway into the genre itself and that’s something that people who want to even bring more influence into a certain genre should keep in mind. If you want to bring more influence into a genre, then you need to hone in on platforms like this and get let’s say your entire drama. You can get all here all together if I’m in lo-fi or just some kind of weird nondescript type genre and then get those people to run campaigns and become familiar with people or get people to become familiar with you through other forms of content.

Because now, once they’ve warmed up right, once they’re primed to understanding and just like snippets of you, the next step is an entire song that goes for an individual artist. That goes for a jammer at home, and it goes for so many other variations of what you’re trying to introduce people to this is where it starts, because at the end of the day the truth is people always say things like I’m not going to listen to Certain type of music – I don’t listen to this.

I don’t do this, but at the end of the day it’s not words but behavior that determines the actual result. So when you even think about the fact that you know there’s some people who are like man, I would never do this. I would never do that or when somebody got beat up and then one of the homies or somebody else was reading on reading the article. No one ever took that. I wouldn’t do that if I was doing but then the truth is they probably would have at the end of the day.

What a lot of people do not know is humans, love to project themselves into situations and inform you of how they would act, but humans are also very poor at judging how they would act in particular situations. I know I know you might be special. You might be different, but just generally speaking, this is the truth. People poorly predict and incorrectly overestimate the action of the masses based on their own opinion, but then equally they underestimate how much their actions will be affected by the behavior of the.

In short, people’s conscious projections, of who they are often disagrees with their subconscious, which has far greater impact on their actual action, and it might have something to do with the fact that a lot of times people often talk and know more about who they want to Be versus who they actually are, and this is why marketing and branding works on people again and again and again. This is why politicians sway people’s opinions again and again and again, because when it comes to media masses and just content in general, a lot of things begin to happen.

Whether we like it or not, whether we know it or disagree with there or not. And it’s not a matter of opinion, though the 15 second song is here and if you think about it, there’s probably a song that you know that you only know 15 seconds of even before tick-tock II probably grew up just knowing a certain part of certain songs. You never knew the whole song all right in your head, that song is already a 15-second hit.

Yes, there’s a complete version out there, but the part that’s known, the part that has the greatest impact and Reach is only 15 seconds, and as always, this article is brought to you by brandman network.Com, because I sign myself, we have artists, develop their brand and build Their fan base, so if you like this article, go ahead like button, if you like it might as well share and if you’re not subscribed, you know what to do.

Best UX practices and mobile first

I find them somewhat connected so best UX practices. Well, it’s a it’s a list of things, a list of principles and practices compiled by miss Heidi under Nick, and you can find the list at the above-mentioned address. So if you haven’t seen this document, this is what I’m going to talk about on the lecture to some extent, I find this applicable also to desktop applications and the development of software in general, so they are actually quite useful things.

The mobile first approach, an approach in which you can use those best UX practices to produce better software and, finally, at the end, I’m going to talk about responsive design, so a combination or an application of these two. So if you want to follow the best UX practices – and you want to do development mobile first, then most likely you are going to need responsive design, let’s start with those timeless rules for creating intuitive web apps.

As I said, this is not only for web apps. This is for computer applications in general. First, we have something called, don’t reinvent patterns. You know, users have their habits, they have been using their computers for quite a while. Usually you shouldn’t contradict with your application, their intended behavior, and if you make a confirmation button in red, then that’s clearly not right, because most people associate red with error and usually in at least in the Western culture, where you read from left to right.

The button that takes you to the next page is actually, on the like right hand, side in the bottom and, if place it somewhere else, this might be a source of a confusion to the user. What you get by applying this or by not reinventing patterns? Well, you get a lower learning curve, which is always good, so your users can start using your software right from the beginning without having to learn any particular things, and you have the principle of least astonishment, so this is also.

In other words, this is the don’t reinvent the patterns things. Grouping related elements is another good practice, so whenever you have stuff that is related to each other, it makes sense for it to be like in the same place or just in a very close place and inviting you can use shared styles for that. So if you can’t place them directly next to each other, you can at least clean them to make them look related in general, your users should be able to guess what a particular part of your software does by just you know looking at stuff around that part, Then we have the principal called less is better.

This is I divided it in two things. One is on the UI level, where you try to limit distractions and focus on what is relevant. The other part of less is better is the functionality, and this is something that I hope you will all apply in your projects. So do one thing well focus on the bare necessities of your software, and if there is time left then just add more, but do not try to you know, put everything in one place and hope that it will magically work.

It won’t start with one thing: make it perfect and then add new stuff. An example. Is Linux shuttles, so this is, like you know, a shell tool. Just does one thing well and if you want to have some extra stuff, then you have to put them together. There is a common input/output next tip is to plan before developing. This means that you should well, as it says here, design interaction before implementing, which means you should spend some time before.

You actually sit and start coding on planning and laying out how your application is going to look like and again. You should focus on essentials, two things on how to achieve that. One is to get a second pair of eyes, which means that you should find somebody who is not a software developer to take a look at your wireframes and you know user stories and tell you what can be improved. I said it many times throughout this lecture software developers, design, crappy, UI and the other tool that is going to help you in in planning.

The stuff is the the user stories. If you are somewhat familiar with agile, then you might heard about user stories. So these are small documents that you write and they always go AUSA and then roll I want to, and then you explain the things that you want to do with your software. This is actually very helpful because once you get your essential user story, so the one that describes what you want your software to do, then you can, you know, build wireframes for that so plan.

What screens the user sees on the way from the very beginning, to the very very end of that action, then you can get a second pair of eyes, so somebody to look at those make some improvements, and once this is done, then you can actually start implementing It providing feedback is very important in any software. That means that you should acknowledge users actions, so if the user has done something, you should make the user aware of the fact that something happens.

This usually requires a very little effort, but it greatly improves user experience. Like the overall user experience of the software you’re developing unobtrusive help having help without actually stuffing it in the users face that usually works. You should assume that your users know how to use your software, except when they don’t, and then you should indicate that there is help that they might want to read, but they don’t necessarily have to.

Of course, they can still stare at the login screen for 10 minutes if they wish so and next step is to help users decide this kind of follows the principle of least astonishment that I was talking about previously about not making anything that the users wouldn’t expect. If there is a few pages process that the users are going through, make sure that they know what is the next button to press or any next thing to do.

Please make sure that whatever patterns of styling and theming, you use, they are consistent across your software. So there is really nothing more annoying that the fact that in one subpart of your software, the process of going through something is done with a wizard that you press next buttons and then in the next one. You have one page that you have checked you scroll up and down now this isn’t going to work.

If you’re developing software, you typically have a target group in mind, so a set of people that you know they are going to use your applications. They have certain qualities, they are, you know you can define it as a group. You should assume some common knowledge. So if you’re developing software for engineers, then you can assume they likely know mathematics and if you have some complex mathematical terms.

Well, you don’t have to explain them because well it’s for engineers, they should know it. This helps in focusing on the functionality and removing destructions. Well, you assume certain things that the people will know. You don’t have to pollute your UI with extra explanations of those things. Helping users realize where they are so what part of the system they are in? How did they get there? There are two bullet points.

One is clearly marking the progress and the other one is allowing navigation back and forth, especially the navigation back and forth is something that is often forgotten in web applications written with Vardon, because everything is just running on one page without any state to preserve from different Steps, for example – and this is where we can use navigator a rule of thumb – is that you have changed the state of your application that you should change the URL of it.

So then, by just entering the URL, you can come back to the place. You were previously, you can bookmark that place. You should make good use of some navigation parameters so inviting you can have a view name as the first part of the URL address, and then some parameters and it’s up to you. What is the syntax of those parameters where did that come from, and this is basically meaning to show transitions between elements? A good example here is a buddy notification.

Actually, it’s not jumping at you from the middle of a screen. It transitions from a corner, or you know there is an animation that shows it so you’re not surprised that you’ve actually seen the notification. It’s it’s always nice to use this sort of applications. You know with animations and fading out and Sony kind of gives this Pleasant feeling about okay. Well, this is nicely thought. Then we have designed for no data.

I’ve marked here that this is a surprisingly good rule, and it really is. I have been developing software for quite a while already, and this is like the first time I’ve actually seen it written somewhere when the users start your software, what data they have none and in most cases it’s just an empty screen, because you haven’t thought about putting There something you always assume that there is data, because, while you’re developing the software well, you clearly have the test data to work with well, the first time users they don’t.

You have only one chance to make the first impression that actually applies not only to software development. You know, but when your users install your software and start it, then they shouldn’t see an empty screen. They should see something, for example in IntelliJ. If you close. All of those, then you don’t see a blank screen. You see some help once you get used to this software. Will you just ignore this text, but if you’re, the first time user? Well, you at least see some pointers, and this is connected also to dis.

Unobtrusive help next part is to be consistent. Your UI, your major structure of the application, should be more or less the same throughout the entire software, regardless of the part you’re at and inviting we can do it with navigator. So navigator requires a viewport, a part where you can display the stuff that changes from one view to another. Well, this is already what you want, so you have some parts of the system that are consistent regardless of the view, and then you have a part that changes from one view to another.

This is purely related to web applications. You should load the content quickly. There are some studies, I really haven’t memorized the numbers, but the users are very impatient if they have to wait longer than some two seconds or something like that. There are some practices that you should load most of the stuff in the first X kilobytes of the response, so by principle you shouldn’t: let users wait if they click a button, and there is an operation that takes a really long time.

Well, you should indicate that it’s really happening so that something some feedback has been given to the user like they know what to expect and if they really have to wait at a particular screen. Then we’ll make sure that there is some information for for that, and it can be also fun. I don’t know how many of you have played Sim City for this. You know it’s a city building game and in in the version number four.

If you create a new city or a new landscape which takes a really long time to load, then the loading messages are actually funny kind of a related topic to that is progressive web applications. So this is a new trend in mobile application development, a rule about testing. Well, this shouldn’t be a rule, but then, on the other hand, it should ideally, your software should be tested by somebody who hasn’t developed it, who hasn’t designed it and who hasn’t like used.

It at all – and it should be a member of target group – many things that that you should take into consideration. The reasoning for that is twofold. As I said, you know how your software works, so you will obviously not make any mistakes that lead to an error or throwing up some nasty exception, and the other one is that the developers are crappy UX designers. Your users might have completely different expectations from how the software should work or look than you and it’s natural.

You should you shouldn’t be angry at them. You should appreciate that they tell you this it’s better. They tell you, while you’re developing the software, then after you’re developed and deployed it because then they’ll just find something else in your place, inviting we can do it with test bench. This is a Pro Tools, so it’s a paid feature of Warren. It’s basically a j-unit code that runs your software, you can click buttons enter text into various places and it will check if it really works.

It’s really good for acceptance and regression tests. That was that was it that summarizes the good practices of UX development. I think, or at least to me when I was when I was reading those I found them very useful – it’s nice that it’s just 14 points. They are not that very hard to remember and not that very hard to follow and the resulting software will have well at least some quality to it. If you try to follow all of those.

No, let’s talk about a mobile-first approach. Let’s come back to our shoutbox application and how was the UI planned from the very beginning? I had a clear idea that I want to have a text at the top and the bottom there on the right and then the content on the bottom filling up. The rest of the screen – it looks quite okay on the monitor like in here and that’s because desktop monitors are horizontal.

Most often they have more pixels from left to right and from top to bottom, did I ever resize the browser window while developing or showing did. I even think about it. That’s that’s actually a good question. I’ve never thought about that. Why are these questions important? That’s because software developers they use computers, other people like people not being software developers, they don’t use much of computers.

For example. When was the last time your mother used a computer to process web assuming she’s, not a software developer, because I know some mothers are software developers. Modern phones are always connected to the Internet like they are always there, and most of the people have internet in their pocket, and this is how most people, not being software developers or mothers of software developers, how they connect to the internet, how they bro stuff.

It’s the phone, it’s not the computer anymore, and many people do not even need a computer, because everything you will ever need is probably available as an application form. The important thing is: what’s the shape of a mobile device screen? Well, it’s also rectangular, but not horizontal anymore. It’s vertical! It’s a bit different. There are two approaches for developing or targeting software for mobile platforms.

The first one that was there at the beginning is called graceful degradation and graceful degradation means that you start with a fully blown up and it’s optimized for desktop. Where there is huge screen. There is lots of processing power, all the bells and whistles they can be. There it’s desktop app and then, as you scale to smaller devices, you start removing things, but still you try to keep the functionality as it is, so your software really has to work.

But now you know the screen is smaller. There is less space to put all the elements around. That’s why it’s called graceful degradation. The opposite of that is progressive enhancement, and this is where you start with a fully blown up, but it’s optimized for mobile. You have a very small screen. You have a slow, CPU and well basically, no extras. The trick is to add features. As the screen gets bigger.

You still keep the functionality as it was, but now you have extra space, so you can add. I don’t know more information, more fine tuned buttons more. What Evers to the application as it was – and this also connects to the first or one of the first rules, that you should focus on functionality. You should keep it simple if you’d start with one thing and do it well and then, if you have some extra screen available, then you can just put extra things there.

Why progressive enhancement is good. As I said, you start focusing on a very small scale. It’s minimal requirements, essentials only and maximum functionality. This is going to be used on a mobile phone. It has to be simple and functioning portability of that solution is also good. I mean it’s not a problem if you have too much of screen space and if you add it extra, why is it bad? Because everything comes at the price right? The biggest drawback is that you have challenges and constraints right from the start.

You can’t put everything on a screen and hope that people will still see it. That means there is more work on the planning stage already, so you should be prepared to have a stripped down version of your idea, because your idea about your application is most likely concerning a desktop browser, not a mobile browser. There are different behavioral patterns, so there is typically on a mobile device.

Users do not mind that they have to tap the screen or scroll it down. Well, then they scroll up and down and not left right now it must work instantly, and you know this is a mobile device. People are connected, it has to work really fast, otherwise they just shove the phone in the pocket and just go so overall. Is it not that bad? No, it’s it’s not it’s slightly more difficult, but you should apply it by default.

Well, you shouldn’t apply it if your application is never going to be used by a mobile user. Well, sorry, this will never happen, and this is because currently about 25 percent of the Internet users are using only a mobile device. Of course you shouldn’t blindly follow it. You should apply it where it makes sense. Not everything has to be mobile-friendly. Then again, not everything has to be a web application, so you can, just you know, stick to desktop applications and the last part of today’s lecture is the responsive design.

These are the like UX practices that were told first and then the mobile-first approach – and this is responsive, so how you can connect these two. It’s a web design technique where you rearrange the contents of the page. According to the display size, it means context-aware elements. So the elements themselves that you see in the HTML code, they kind of know what is the screen dimension, whether they are visible or not? What role do they play, how they are colored? This is quite an advanced approach.

I have to say because it’s another level of complexity, so not only you have to figure out how your mobile screen should look like and how your like desktop screen should look like, but also how do you transition from one to another if you’re using responsive design? It gives awesome results, one UI, regardless of the platform, it’s just the styles that are different and the whole code, the whole logic of building the UI binding it to events.

Everything stays regardless of whether the users use use mobile or a desktop, and it’s also good because it preserves the information here. Are he if there is more space, you just add extra stuff and what is shown on the small screen is the top essentials of whatever. Should be displayed there in valen, we do it with responsive, responsive is an extension to a component, and you can make any component responsive you just for responsive, not make responsive and then a bunch of components most likely.

You are going to use it on a layout and, like 99 % of the case, it’s going to be a CSS layout. That’s because, as you all remember, from the lecture, CSS layout delegates, all the layouting to the browser and to the CSS file, what you should remember, though, is to add a style name for that CSS layout, so that you can refer to it from a CSS file. What you get is that you can use responsive a CSS syntax, so you can specify with range or a height range of your component and adjust the stuff accordingly in here the upper bound doesn’t have to be present, so you can make it from.

I don’t know. 100 pixels up and so on, and the range is that you define they may overlap, and all of those that are matching they are active. There is one terms and conditions’ applies. All resources must be in the same domain, so unfortunately, no referee of anything outside your application, how we can use it in practice. Let’s make our shout box a bit more responsive. I couldn’t actually come up with anything, so I thought that for small screens we’re going to remove the room navigation like completely and we move the text field in the button to the bottom of a screen not to the top of the screen.

I currently haven’t yet figured out how I flip the order of labels so that the most recent ones show on the bottom. That’s why I didn’t mention it here. The top level layout will be responsive, so I’m going to show you some code. Our change is that I just added a few style names and when it it must have been added before. But this is the key part, so I’m making responsive the main layout and I’m going to make sure that it’s called shout box.

So I can refer to it and there is nothing else that has changed so just this and and some styles, but then there are a few things in the CSS file. Since we have started with a desktop up, then we were cutting down parts as we as the display shrinks when the width range is less than 1000 and 100 pixels, then, which is not displaying the rooms and the caption and we’re also not displaying the caption on The top, and then we move the entry bar to the bottom.

That’s it uh-huh there we are, so you can see that there is a caption here. There is a rooms here, and this whole thing is is on the top. Now, let’s resize the window, whoops I’d kind of resized itself, a bit outside of the screen come back here now you see it it’s different. Now this is on the bottom and as we resize this once we reach thousand and 100 pixels, then it will flip back to the previous okay.

Hopefully, oh yeah, there you have it written on the top and us ask the users have smaller space than this flips back and nothing except the style has changed, and it’s still the same UI file that it was there previously and now we have the power of Responsive layouts in our app that’s it. Today we went to the principles of web application development. As I said, these are not only valid for web applications.

They are valid for any software that interacts with with people a mobile-first approach. For me, it requires still some mindset. Change but I think it’s it’s a good practice, at least to consider the mobile users. I mean you can’t fight this, that people will use mobile phones and then the responsive design. There were just two slides about it, but that’s really it I mean there is nothing! No extra magic involved and you just make a layout, responsive and a new code CSS for it.

That’s it that’s how it works.
