Everybody goes oh when I start to talk about this, but it’s something that can really change your life. I just wrote a post about this on my website and I of course use long tail keywords in my keywords. So Google SEO things like that.
So let’s talk about at 40,000 feet what longtail keywords are because there was a gal in a Facebook group. The other day and she had written a post and I’m going to say I’m using my friend barb grassy as my goat, that she’s the book loss and she helps writers. She helps edit book. She helps coach writers, she’s except successful author herself, and so I figure if barb doesn’t know how to do SEO. Longtail SEO, then, who does so longtail SEO means kind of you’re going to go for the shortest version of the biggest keyword you can pick? Okay, so I’ll give you an example from my site when I started my website years ago, I was trying to rank for real estate marketing and or let’s go back to marketing right like I was trying to rank for marketing and there’s no way, I’m going to Rank in Google for the term marketing because there’s a lot more bigger sites that can rank for that, but even real estate marketing.
You know if you do a search for real estate marketing, because marketing people do marketing there’s um million there’s over 1 billion results for real estate marketing, okay, and so I I knew I to do some other things. That would help me rank for longer. Tail keywords like real estate, marketing marketing to a farm, real estate, marketing, funny realtor postcards real estate marketing how to get your first listing like those are all longer terms now.
Would I use real estate marketing every single time heck? No, I would say marketing your real estate business, how to succeed at real estate at your real estate, marketing how Realtors well you’re not supposed to use Realtors. I got in trouble for that one. You got to read your chart, your trademark keyword terms, but so real estate marketing. So you have real estate marketing strategy tools, ideas.
So then you can go even longer right, so real if real estate marketing was your logging. It like your shortest long-term keyword, then you would add things on the end, so we’re going to go with Barb’s and we’re going to yell at her. So I found this on her site. How do I start my book and I’m sure that this is super super interesting to her people, and I love that she’s answering a question that her readership or the people that she meets in public or her coaching clients house.
So this is probably I do this too. I’m like okay, I get to ask this question a thousand times. I want to answer this question. How do I start my book, but from a standpoint of Google, if you go and figure out, I use a tool called ubersuggest, it’s free and what they do. Is they pull in the Google search volume? So I did a search for how do I start my book and this was closest to it. How do I begin to write a book so for D and then, let’s see if we have how to start, how do I start a book? Thirty? How do I start my book ten? So those are searches per month, so I wan na help barb get right.
So that’s excellent! That’s going to be like part of her title, but we need to get her longer like more search volume. Keywords in her long tail. So, let’s, let’s sort this by search volume, can we search it by search flight filter results? Oh find keywords within search results. That’s awesome! Oh, and it’s an order by search form. It is in order by search volume, okay, so uh, okay. So how to write a book? How to write a book is our very, very, very best volume, 40,000 searches a month.
So we got how I’m going to write little notes over here right, I’m going to do this, how to write a book. So now, let’s find out from Google how competitive that search term is because probably other people know about it: how to write a book right how to write a book. There’s a 64 million different how to write a book results, and that is, if you put the quotations around it, it forces you to it forces Google to just look up in that exact order right.
So if we took them off so there’s a million how to write a books, there’s a billion how to write a book results, so we can’t really probably compete with that very well right. So, let’s add a word nonfiction right: how to write enough fiction book. How to write a nonfiction book now we’re down to 54 million results, which is still a lot, admittedly, but there’s only a hundred and sixteen thousand how to write a nonfiction book.
So we went from billions to hundreds of thousands, so I would say we could start with how to write a non-fiction book right whoa. We could do write a nonfiction book how to so. We just moved our how-to over how to get started right just by changing that. How do I start my book right like? How do I start? My book is not good, but how do write a nonfiction book now, let’s see uber, suggests write a nonfiction book.
It’s Lincoln it’s thinking now, isn’t this fun the best two seconds to figure this out a nonfiction book? Oh start it right. We want to filter it by words that have right in it how to write a book. So that was our 40,000 book. I write a novel: how to write an e-book, how to write a book, so we still have our how to write a book, how to write a book now. Is it an order right so she may want to. This.
Is it this is where it gets super exciting how to write a book for nonfiction authors right? She may want to write a big giant post. That is all about how to write a book for nonfiction authors right. So here’s my thing: this would be her bullseye. So this would be how to write a book for nonfiction authors. That is just blatantly going after the highest level of SEO longtail keyword that we think we can get.
Then she would say, write a nonfiction book how to get started. That would be one of these supporting posts. She would link back to that. She has other she’s other posts that are titled poorly, that we will go look at. She has a lot of words here, she’s writer, so she can. She can write some words. Girlfriend doesn’t have a problem with that choose one: how long should you book B so then she would do a writing non-fiction.
How long should your book be, which is slightly different right, writing nonfiction, is different from write. A nonfiction book people ask me all the time. So if I get a longtail keyword, should I do that one over and over and over again – and the answer is no like – that would be the most boring thing and you would only be trying to get that one tiny, long-term keyword search, let’s see what I Don’t want to know what shoes one is except the worst title ever Barbara Grassi.
You know I love you. Okay, write a book. He had ideas for as a marketing tool. Okay, so this is kind of about marketing. So we’re going to say, writing a nun. Now we got write a nonfiction book, write, nonfiction, writing, nonfiction and writing a non-fiction book to market your business right, and so now we have our three posts that we can try to get to how to write a book for nonfiction authors right and as we do More and more content with those longtail keywords on our website or on our blog most people have a wordpress or maybe a square skate space at this point.
But as you write more and more of those, you will go up so in my first example where I was telling you minis talking to us in my first example when I was telling you about my how to marketing to a farm or how to you know, Do a funny, realtor, postcards and stuff like that, what happened was I wrote enough different posts that were about real estate marketing? That, eventually, Google began to give me credit, but in the meantime I got Google traffic from those littler posts and my blog started to grow and I started to gain Authority.
So that is how you do. Longtail research in a super super easy to step way. Hoover suggests find a better search term that has more searches and then do a search on Google to find out what kind of results they get. Oh, I forgot one more thing: ooh. This is very exciting, so you can also do this. So if you say nonfiction, I don’t think it’s going to be in there. I think we got to do nonfiction, author Association, nonfiction authors, but let’s say right oops.
If I could type I would be unstoppable, oh shoot. Now we have to I’m glad that happened, though. So because I did that write a nonfiction book search, we need to do a incognito window, so I’m on a Mac. So I do control shift to control, shift command and just look up non opening on an incognito women window. So we’re going to go. Google right and then we’re going to say, write a book in a month in 30 days, so obviously, obviously there’s a lot of quickness around like that would be some good topics.
You could use right ain’t, let’s see what happens if we do nonfiction book outline. Oh, my gosh. She could do a an outline business plan. That’s nonprofit business plan. So let’s see write a nonfiction book fast, there’s fast again, it seems to be writing a nut seed. Now this is where now we’re crossing over to the other word. So we went from write to writing writing a nonfiction book for the first time.
That’s a really good one, and so, as you do this you’re going to be able to find these things in Google and just start writing them down. Everybody wants to make this so hard. Google tells us exactly how to do it, and this is how I do my research. Now I have all kinds of expensive keyword tools. I love SEM rush with the rest of us. I love you know the Google Keyword planner, but nowadays you can really start to get those super high level keywords right from Google just from showing the search and then doing a little research so hopefully helps Tara, Jacobsen marketing artfully.

That could be platform that you personally like to use this on a daily basis that this platform that you feel like we really be beneficial for you to just like you know, learn how to master and then really dive in to study how those platforms work. What type of content moves them up the best on these platform like as far as like natively level? What content do you make before the platform at booth 3? Monetarily be my little pig to now really good. I should learn a game and I should dive into it and then once she mastered the consistency part like once you go like okay cool. I know that I can comfortably put out X amount of articles a month, these entire solarium pieces of content, and I see what is reacting and not reacting even with the small audience. I feel. If you do all these things right, you will get an audience.
It’ll be slow, but you really start to get audience then, once you get that down, that’s the point when I think you should start going like who let me spend money on those a lot you’ve already laid a foundation at that point is easy. It’s just putting leniency should their brain from people into the funnel right. So that’s what I’ve been doing on too much YouTube right now, just like one article a week, every Sunday just you’re starting to build it up, I think is definitely slow right now, but no I’m definitely sure if these are going to pick up this time.
It’s triggered by the actions of audience. So when you have no audience you just really going on for like cold, whatever the fuck, you put a special youtubers one, that’s like you choose hard. Cracking YouTube, really takes a lot of a lot of like consistent person. I read something, whereas I, the algorithm, doesn’t really start to fuck with you. That means you get close to like 100 poker. So I don’t know how accurate that number is.
But I know like all these platforms, pretty much like categorize you and they look for certain things that you do to live in Miller. Okay, this is a person, that’s actively Chomp growing platform, or this is the president just like cat. So the more of the ways as we played a game on the platforms away today, once you play the more Suze, they start to do your account and then go like okay who this person wants to grow on Instagram, but this person wants to grow on YouTube.
Now, let’s see if their content measures up to whatever par – let’s put it in there put it in front of a certain Google people see how they react to it and posted with it, and I go I for the best. You push them more of their content out. So, like that’s the game, you have to get into playing. If you don’t have any money like I said, I think you should get into the game before you start spending mind yourself anyway, once you get it down, the spinning money part becomes easy, and then, by that point you own the platform’s long enough.
That you know are, who are the influences, that move shit into space on satellite word accounts that move shit into space for the people that move shit into space? What type of content works best for these? Probably because you’ve been in them so much. I, like you, you’ve, been in that shit, so my school, that’s a lot of shit. We do just as marketers in general a lot of the ideas that we give. This come from our reverse engineering shit that we saw in the platform that we like, like I’m like, oh shit.
You know I saw this. I found this artist because I saw a beam on just one account like shit. What happened if I make them leave this place on down to start my eyes, the decide to figure out how the game is played, and then I used to play it to feel what you make and then once you get it out stock, your bread or get Your budget gives it going

So of course, I’m going to continue so one thing I did not do, however, was actually apply.
The text and I kinda like finalized a logo away just because for me specifically doing mask. I designed one up. One thing that it could not do was the simplest part which I would feel feel like. Theoretically, think is the text, and I couldn’t just seem that actually, like, I guess, apply the text or how looks like it was still in the lowers. I like right here, the Texas – I guess, what’s in the actual logo, design that wasn’t added previously, it felt like it was added.
You know, like you know, like thought about. You know I mean, but this was just added like a nice quick little text in it. It works. I really like how I’m going to do this. I’m not sure, gets this today right here right now and I think the possible, using by the way, is built tilting, I think again so yeah. That’s normal, though, sponsoring my contact, you guys I’ll, go ahead and check that out. Article did really well, you guys are like really frickin love it.
So the guys I’ve got to see that article or I get any of these cool sauces. I’ll. Put that in stop! You in description a below as well because of course, Matt’s out designing you need cool text as well. So, okay, let’s get this thing going really quickly! I’m a point this out, so you can see the outside stroke that I have is actually a color. Now, there’s a specific reason. I do that just because I feel like one, it looks a little better.
In my opinion, you have like a black stroke, followed by a blue or, if he’s not blue, but a color stroke on the outside on the farther outside. Just because it kind of makes your text your text look a little bit better. In my opinion, now what I mean by that is whatever is inside, whatever colors are inside. Your actual mask are right. I have like Grey’s blues white within my mask a design and I have way on the outside.
But then, if I love white on the outside – and it would just kind of be like weird – I feel like a black stroke on the outside completely surrounding your mascot design will look like really good like it would just kind of like finish it all, and then, If you add it, your color of layer of using an extra layer of color, excuse me and then it would just kind of like fill the actual actual logo even more and then, when you fight text, it’s like this is what it looks like right without it.
So without detectives kind of looks like it looks good right, but if I add like the color on the outside and then I add the actual text, there’s just something that just looks really good. Of course, when you actually add in the text with the color in the background, so it’s the reason why I said is it because if you had like the middle here – and this is a color of blue – let’s get this with blue right.
Your text was white. Let’s just say this was white right, but then your sugar, the outside, was black as well. It would kind of look very, very messy or very, very bland. It will kind of look empty and that’s why I want to like. Let you guys know if you use two different strokes on the outside for your like your finalization um. It just looks good in my opinion. I know you guys will figure it out yourselves.
I know you guys will figure out your your specifics. Your your preferences. This is just like I’m kinda, like my preference, so I’ll just you guys do that before I start just because I want to you know if you want to get it to look exactly or at least remotely closer, structurally close as mine. That is probably one of the one of the reasons why it does not look like mine in like the retrospective, like um, the text looking like it actually was in the lower design.
So hope you guys understood that little explanation and let’s just get this thing going. If you hear my chair scooch, I am sorry, I guess it’s time for me to get a new. I think I need to just like buy a good chair like I have to stop buying those like semi are staple chairs. There’s the thing um! Okay! So I’m going to delete that and when I get this thing going so the first thing you don’t want to do.
Of course, let’s do make a back plate surrounding you know secondary color of a color on the background, so on the background of this logo here right, so I’m going to do now. Let’s take my completely done: logo design, my mascot design, McEachern logo, mascot design. Here I’m going to hold alt while I’m holding alt I’m going left click and then drag this below. So I’m a drag whatever I’m selecting this load this layer here right below this other layer.
This will make a duplicate for me within illustrator. You can do that or you can go ahead and pick the actual layer, throw it into the new page and that’ll also make a duplicate as well. So whatever works for you, it’s all good either both of them do the same exact thing possible. With this one. You’re going to do with the duplicated one you’re going to go to select the target layer, which is a circle here.
This will select everything within this folder everything Simmons layer, and that way you can move it do ever with it. So we’re going to do is we’re going to combine them all that way. This entire shape did you guys see here, is actually going to be completely filled or assuming completely like yeah basically filled without. Actually, you know having a pencil out the outside or pick out which layer is only far outside nope.
You can just basically take the entire thing. Select it go to windows task finder. What the path I’m going to do is give you guys this option. It says sheet modes right and one of the options, the first one is actually unite. So, as you can imagine, it connects all the actual sectors within the actual layer, like I said just like so when I click it, I’m a Dragonslayer out because every other layer is empty.
Just so you’re not going to get a little easier and you can see this layer right here now is just one solid, basic layer of like the entire thing on the outside, so that works perfectly for me and I’m very happy with the outcome. So that’s what I’m going to use my actual stroke on the outside now to apply the stroke, of course you’re going to want, of course, with the actual color of the year. Your your secondary color, whatever color left on the outside, and you put that on your stroke, you’re, going to turn off your filled, which is this one right here.
The first one, the one of the foreground kind of you turn that off by just clicking on none one of your stroke here, click on the show, color double garnet, and they would apply that color, like I said before, to the actual stroke, which is just nice Little blue that I got going on here and then you want to make sure you have your stroke, cable, actually up as well we’re going to windows, stroke and you’re going to make sure this is open right.
So for your alignment, shoke you’re, going to put this on the outside now the first one is centered. The second will go to the inside and the last one’s going to be outside of the liner stroke. So one make sure you click on that one, because we’re going to basically mean your your stroke is going to go only farther outside of this path. Here we’re going to be more quicker one, of course, when you put your weight up here, randoms kind of Sisyphus because already know I kind of want it at 50 or not 30.
I think ah see I think it was yep so 50. So you can see us in the outside the stroke on the outside. It wasn’t me inside. Well, you won’t be able to see it. It goes in the center. Well, you got ta put your while your your points of a lot more just because it’s actually shared. It’s kind of sharing the actual the width between the outside and the inside. That’s all I put on the outside and you can see it’s really big now, because these points are still big, cuz it’s on 50, and you can see that if I put this on 50, just like so now, it’s just on the outside looks good.
It looks clean and then we’re good to go so that just wan na make sure you guys understood that okay, not the best in illustrator, what not obviously yeah. Once you have this you’re, pretty good you’re going to make a new layer above everything, so click new layer. Take your text tool which is basically T on your keyboard right for the shortcut, and I would have put it around 500 – is pretty good.
And for me, I’m in a 4k by 4k document size, so my points might be bigger or smaller, depending on what your document size is yourself, I’m going to go ahead and put it in what is the word twist right? I believe the font that I use for this was built, something like I said previously. It’s the bolded one though, and I’m going to go ahead and just put this right here now. The cool thing about my example was, if you guys remember it, I actually have my looking like a had like a little bulge or like arcs and stuff like that.
Basically, you can do the same exact thing. It’s the same exact tool, I believe, is within Photoshop. I don’t know what it’s called a cut like a wrap to look like that. I believe, but the same thing follows here right: the envelope tool. I think that’s what’s called a Photoshop as well, so you want to click this right, make envelopes and answer these different styles. You can actually apply it to your actual text, now lower arch, pretty much does what this is like kind of gives, like almost like a shield.
Look it kind of like makes it a little bit like urban copper. Like a lot more on the bottom side, you can keep going for you, put the bend up, see once you can see you can make it really dramatic. I can do the same thing with something like bulge. You can make it bulge towards you right, that’s pretty good! If I wouldn’t do it so dramatic we’re going to do that, I would say: keep between either negative 15 or positive 15.
Just because that’s not incredibly terrible, as I’m looking pretty like kind of sloppy in the way you don’t immediate, if I put up maybe 10 %, that’s pretty good yep, but the what I want to do is actually. I want to do bold if I want to make a negative that way actually goes towards the inside. You see it came toward me. Look I put toward the negative side. You can actually go. You know farther back and I love this one just because it looks best.
In my opinion, it’s just kind of like preferred one, so we put negative or what is it? I’m just going to put a negative, intense, prettier negative 11, whatever that’s pretty good right awesome. So you can see it does like that. Look nice little simple bulge towards the like further away from us, so this looks really good. I’m happy with this and I well. Let me do now, so I make a duplicate of this actually right now so i’ma hold alt like I did before, and because they put all the way on the bottom and we’re going to keep on the bottom.
For now, I’m a whole or Suzy hide the top layer here, which is our top texts. Now, I’m going to bottom one now quickly just make this a object, so I’m go to objects, go to expand and it will see these two things here. It’s going to span, object and fill admission. Those both filled or clicks, easily check press, ok, and this will make it into like a basic will she’s like basically it’ll, make make it into a basic shape and which means like you can have like move either one.
If you want to so, if you want to get creative and stuff like that, you can um, but for this I’m going to turn off the fill turn on the stroke. Take my stroke put the same color on so basis. The same thing I’m doing on the outside of this I’m doing this in the text so outside the stroke, the line and I’m going to go to here put about 30. I think right, that’s a pretty good amount and I’m down for that.
So basically, we’ve completed the the issue of you know applying all the strokes in the background. So you don’t don’t worry about that too much anymore realistically, now can be happening, is kind of like editing the text to make sure it looks. You know good, but we’re actually not completely done. You can see these little inside here, you’re going to have to actually fix that manually. If you have a text.
That, of course, has you know more spaced out actual you know, letters in their text or in their fonts will quickly turn this back on now to make this also white and well, I’m just going to actually go ahead and get so the object as well, because Why the hell not – and I’m going to make this white and okay so basically to fix this. This ring here this back one. So you have no more like white space because we want to make sure it’s actually completely filled in.
So what you don’t want to do is going to manually. Do it yourself, so click a new layer right above that layer, I’m a bill. Click in use my pen, switches of the press p.M. If you go through the actual shortcut and it’s this tool right here and you’re just going to have to basically be pretty far in find out where this actual point ends over there and, of course, click over. Here, click and drag because this in art, now I’m going to take this point, I’m a hole, control! I’m going to hold this move this toward here and imma, say to myself once it’s pretty good, like you know, what’s pretty good ring, and this is okay, I know it’s not going to be complete long term.
That’s not really quick. I always have to be completely perfect, as this is an S now. However, the X does go below everything, so kind of like makes sense, but what I want to do is I’m going to make sure that I will click all the way around. If I cover this white space, I’m going to go around this white space right, I’m going to make sure I get this right here. I’ll make sure I get this little right here, which is.
Why are the W scuse me and the spacing between the T and the WI make sure I completely feel that as well now, I’m going to click it put it back on the field. Now I’m going to change my fill color by the way. What I’m doing the selected colors I’m using my eyedropper tool, I already have a color here, like blue white black at all, filled colors and that stroke color. So I’m going to click this or not that one okay, this one right here actually completely fills in the color, with the same exact color and the same exact fill cap as if I don’t have a keynote go into here and then Manley put the color back In I can just kind of pick a color from my mascot design and there we go so I can see now it fills in the space, and that is what you guys want.
So basically they have. You know this empty space, which looks kind of weird and does not look clean, and if you click this you can see now we actually apply the you know additional shape to it. So it fills in the actual space and it looks good now the fit again to do again, one more time toward the actual top layer. This is actually our top text. Just for you guys know if it’s white, you won’t be able to see in the thumbnail.
We’re going to make a new kind of this one we’re going to go ahead and apply the stroke to it and we’re going to apply the same stroke as this one right here, but I’m of course, I’m not make it a lot lower like 25, maybe um 25 is pretty good, but it’s on the outside, there’s not on the outside, so I’m actually make it a little less. Maybe like what do you guys think? Like 17? I think that’s pretty good, so we have to just same exact thing for this from right here.
So, let’s do that right now, so click on this end, click on this and click and drag make sure you know make an arc for yourself and then the whole control flip. This extended point here and then make sure you kind of go through once again right, see, there’s no spaces a lot more empty space here, so I actually have to make sure I go through it in D entire thing: there we go. I kind of like this made my own little path going through and then basically just like so fill it in and there we go fill it, of course, with the same exact color, and let me get something like this now.
If you guys, once you can do the same thing on the top layer, as we see this it’s empty here as well to mess it make another new layer and then do the same thing on the top, because I wanted to make sure there’s no empty spaces. Space here and there space here we want to get rid of that. We don’t want to make sure you want to make sure it’s completely beautiful and looks good and everyone’s happy just like so, and when I kind of just go through it right and then make sure you fill that in so I filled in.
Was this part right here? You can see right so now we’re pretty much almost done at the same point. We actually are done. What you can do is kinda, like you know, since we did actually make this into a object, our actual text into an object and no longer one like you know, kind of text path. You can actually click on multiple letters and then chase kids, like said whatever color, you guys want and then you’re pretty much set in stone, you’re really good to go, so they ever want to like go back into it.
Kind of like make strokes, bigger and whatnot. If you guys want to make it, you know, the blue show cumin. You want to make it bigger because to like say for you, you just want to click on it. Click on the target circle, click on the stroke and just make it go up. Fàbregas me you’re going to actually have to fix that thing you did here. These are probably like kind of like make it big with ctrl T or command here whatever or not ctrl keys, ctrl T avocado fix us again.
Just because you know you want to make sure it’s still good and I’ll, you know nice and going to evenly right, so you want to make that bigger as well. I probably have to make this one bigger as well. Ah, where is it? Is it this one? No, it’s definitely: where is it it’s in here? Isn’t it know where to go this one right here boom and make this a little dollar thicker? So it’s just kinda like a thing and we’re going to take this and kind of drag these back down, and it’s just it just depends what you guys want to do.
So I kind of didn’t like it, because it’s too thin for me, so others have fixed to show and then fix. Of course, these two things up here as well, all the other like extended like filled tasks or the filled shapes that way, we’re looking good and all that cool stuff, and basically, once you’re done, you said you’re satisfied. This looks really good and it looks like the texts also applied to the actual map that design.

Agreements are needed when these rights are used. Copyright arises upon creation of the work. First, ownership rests with the author or co-authors unless an exception concerning employment applies. An author is defined as a natural person. Related rights arise for performers and for producers of sound or film recordings. Performers are also defined as natural persons.
Producers, however, can be legal entities. Copyright consists of economic rights and moral rights. Reproduction right and the right of communication to the public are economic rights. The right of paternity and the right of integrity are moral rights. The author has to be named on all copies of the work and when a work is made available to the public, the right of integrity is the right of an author to prevent others from distorting mutilating or misrepresenting.
His work agreement is needed in order to use an author’s work. The right to further transfer copyright to third parties and the right to alter a work must be agreed explicitly. Otherwise, these rights are not transferred. There are exceptions to economic rights in the copyright legislation which allow illustration for scientific presentation and citation without permission or payment right of paternity and integrity also apply when economic rights do not so credit authors and sources and do not alter works.

You know like what way could you level up your UX skills, so what sort of resources would you use or what sort of things would you do so hope you find this useful and do let us know in the comments what resources are, what tips you have For becoming better UX designer or what sort of questions you have for a design team here at ageyn, smart all right, let’s go hi, I’m Alma and I’m one of the UX researchers on the Sprint team, and I have two tips for you today to become a Better UX and product designer, so tip number one is to subscribe to an awesome newsletter called product habits by a guy called Heaton Shah.
This guy has designed and released the Q products that you’ve probably heard of like KISSmetrics and one more that I’m forgetting at the moment, but he’s a very smart guy and his newsletter is awesome. He pulls articles from the web about product design and stuff. That is always a really really good read. So that’s my first tip and my second tip is actually not so much related to one specific person, but more of a process that you can follow.
So the way that I actually find inspiration and my design work is that I go and look at apps that I really love and I think, are really well designed and then I look for the developer that make them and then see if they talk about their Design process and their thought process somewhere online, so it could be on Twitter, it could be a podcast, it could be a blog anything and so like for me. It’s following Marco Arment following Marc Edwards and Jared Sinclair, but you no longer post about these stuff, but regardless of the people that I follow, you should just go.
Look at the apps eula look at look for the people who make them and then see. If they talk about their thought process, because it’s really helpful to see how they arrived at the design decisions that they made – and I think that will make you a better designer by doing so so when I meet someone who’s trying to figure out how to just Get better at being a UX designer or a UI designer, and I guess my answer is kind of going to be a bit more boring and tactical than everyone else’s.
What I get them to do is look at the guidelines for some of the biggest platform, so, for example, iOS so for any Apple device like iPhones Apple, has their own human interface guidelines. In fact, there’s a whole webpage dedicated to all the different interactions. All the different animations, all of the different kind of rules for designing products on that platform and the cool thing is there, are really just two platforms right: there’s iOS and there’s Android, and both of these platforms have really excellent documentation.
Both iOS and Android. Google has material design and Google’s material design. Documentation is beautiful. It’s really amazing. It’s really clear, and I think that one really big problem that I see with a lot of designers, is that they’re sort of learning, UX design in an abstract way or they’re learning like UX and UI design from apps that are on the market or from dribble And these apps are already breaking the rules because they’re you know, the people who are designing these things are often so good at understanding the basics that they know how to break the rules, whereas I think it’s super important to know the basics and even some of The best designers, I still sometimes see them using like a you, know, modal pop-up, when it doesn’t make sense having a back button when it doesn’t make sense.
I think it’s important for a designer to know when, when you tap on something, how do you know whether it should come up over the screen, and how do you know when it should slide in from the right – and I think things like that are super important To understand and to understand those things, look at the guidelines for iOS, look at the guidelines, the material design guidelines and, honestly, I think, that’s like it really.
It seems like a really basic tip, but I checked the guidelines every so often when I’m when I’m stuck and I’m wondering Oh like, should this be an overlay or should should this be? Should I have the tab party and I think those sort of things are easily answered when you go and look at the systems and the design systems for in these larger platforms and the documentation is really really great. So that’s my advice.
Hi I’m Dee. I’m a product designer designed to infer Scylla, Teta and designs for an educator at AJ and smart and my top tip for progressing your UX product design. Career is a bit left field and it is volunteering at events, meetups conferences, volunteering to even just do really simple things like helping like run the event move chairs around get coffee all the things that seem like you have more important things to do.
Volunteering for stuff, like that, will just expose you to other really cool and probably more senior people in the industry who are running these kinds of events. You have probably very interesting careers because they’re choosing to run a conference or run an event of random eat up. So that they can share this knowledge and their passion for their industry to the rest of the world into the design community.
So exposing yourself to tons of senior people who really care about what they do and you’re, probably exposing yourself to a ton of information as well. You’re, probably getting a free ticket to the conference being able to meet all the people that come to the meetup and just exposing yourself to to more opportunities in your career and more passion excitement in your work, but there’s one caveat I have for this tip.
Is it will not work if you’re just using it as a little hack, and you don’t actually care and you’re not actually enthusiastic, but if you’re super enthusiastic to get into the industry and super enthusiastic about in your field about UX design or product design or whatever It is if you’re really excited about it. This will work for you. This is this work for me from the very beginning of my career, I’ve been doing this volunteering and also running events, and I love it, and it’s made a huge impact on my career.
I’ve met people who have offered me jobs, then from these kinds of things, so it will work as long as you’re excited about it. My name is Rob. I am a product design director here at AJ, smart and my top tip for becoming a better UX designer is to just be really aware of new products that are coming to market, and you can gain a lot of inspiration and you can also learn a lot From how like new UX problems have been solved, but also, why would I’d like to add to that point? Is that you don’t have to be kind of restricted to what’s been done, always questioned whether something can be made more streamlined, more intuitive or just more easier to use so use those as a benchmark and then feel free to kind of do anything to them? I try and do download an app a day and it’s just good to kind of really broaden your horizons with using your apps and there’s so many.
Obviously this needs so many apps. You can never keep up with them, but it’s just good to kind of keep your hand in that and there was becoming the benchmark for best practices within designing mobile interfaces. Hi. My name is Tim. I am the product design director at agent, smart and I’ve been in the design industry for over 10 years. Now I started off as a: u accent your eye designer for agencies, so one piece of advice that I would give is to find really really good mentors to learn from.
I really liked working with people who have a clear attitude or towards the work that they’re doing for clients and who didn’t just treat it as this kind of like random thing, allergic they’re, just kind of like doing their magic, and nobody really understood what the job Was so they had a very, very good like like a clarity to them, how they conducted themselves in their job, and they could also very clearly tell you why they were doing things in a specific way, and I would recommend everyone was starting out to look for People like that and ask them a lot of questions and working with people who already had like a long track record, definitely helped me because I think, especially in the beginning, you were feeling kind of lost, because it’s very overwhelming you know doing like working in your First job and some company and realizing that you were a little bit out of your death, so yeah.
I think if you just find one or two persons like that and you get to you, get them to share their experience with you and almost like. Take you under their wings and work with them. More often, it can really help, and I mean usually when you have a relationship to people like that they will also be the first one who approach you would ask you to work on something with them, because they know that you’re, a person who is actually really Interested in doing great work with them, and you really have to to show that you – you want to do these things and that’s super empty, but that’s my so.

Now I don’t know the laws, I don’t know what people are fine with reposting articles. You can ask them or you could look up the laws, your country again, I don’t look up international law, you guys are from all over the place. Am I supposed to freaking study the laws from Morocco? Don’t ask me: okay, if you put in the comments, I will ban you from making any other comments for life. I just don’t to deal with stupid comments.
Okay, we’re just trying to make money here and you can pre post my articles. So it’s all cool! You see right there and then I’m going to go to this site and then I’m going to copy and paste the link right then we’re going to click download now so we’ll right-click and then we’ll click, Save Link As and then see boom. So it says invitation to create and automate this, so we just click, Save boom, just download it so super fast.
I love it. Okay, so real easily. We just did number two. Okay. We found the articles. We downloaded the articles. Now, I’m going to show you five different places that you can actually upload your articles to. I’m also going to show you an additional just way to find dozens of other places you can upload a article to this is a great way to create multiple streams of income very easily, and I suggest you hop on this if you’re taking action right away, I’m Taking action because it makes no sense to not just go out there, just download and re-upload a ton of articles, so the site you want to sign up for is dailymotion comm, which I mentioned previously.
It has over three hundred million users. A lot of people read articles here and in order to sign up you just scroll all the way down to the bottom, and you would look at this area right down here. It says become a partner and you’d want to click that right there and just sign up, I’m not going to walk you through the signup process, because that’s boring and frankly, if you can’t figure out how to sign up for a website, you shouldn’t be trying to Work on the Internet, folks, okay, you should like you know, go work in a store like get off the internet and like get a job like you know, this isn’t, for you can figure out how to sign up next one is Metacafe.
This is a really old site, metacafe right there. So this is a quick search and they get over a hundred and twenty million visitors every month and 27 million users, and if you can’t make some sales to a hundred and twenty million people, you know, I don’t know what you’re doing I’m actually going to show You a really cool way of how you can earn some really nice passive income, getting people in the door for just one dollar a book I wrote you can use my articles to sell a book.
I already wrote and or ninety percent of the money I’ll show you exactly how this whole thing works in just a second here, but you’ll be earning recurring commissions I’ll just just throw that out there throw that out there recurring commissions I’ll, show you it in just A second here, let’s go into the other mess, so metacafe great way: lots of viral articles. All that stuff. You see, thousands of people are reading these articles right now.
Okay, another great site is break. Calm is another really old site. Break.Com. You see right there to sign up for that side. I won’t walk you through the process, but basically click that upper right corner and it says, sign up right there and you would upload some articles straight. A blog upload some articles and just keep going just keep uploading articles. Each of these platforms has different algorithms that rule it.
The judge which articles show up here versus which articles don’t show up so you’ll, want to get to know some of these platforms to figure out how to get your articles up as much. But frankly, if you’re, just reposting articles that have never been seen before. In these platforms, like mine, you’ll, have a pretty good shot of success. Here’s another site called 9gag, it’s another kind of like viral article Mimi type website.
So you can just upload articles here, sign up right here and to get started. And last but not least, is you can you can even reload my articles to YouTube now the thing about YouTube is because I was the first person to upload my own article to YouTube. I ended up making the Adsense revenue, but you end up making the affiliate Commission’s, which is what we’re going to talk about next. So the most important way of monetizing is actually not making money from the ads.
So, making money from ads is chump change, whereas making money from affiliate commissions is big money. I’m going to show you how you can make money by putting affiliate links underneath or within each of these articles, so you can earn recurring revenue specifically what I’ll be showing. You is how you can sell my book. This is a digital workbook for one dollar. I sell it for $ 1 sells any country in the world, and this book is great book.
It goes over different ways. You can make money online called work at home secrets, but what’s great about it is there is a free trial. A bank, wife or they’ll pay you via cheque, which means you need an address and what you need to do is you need to register right here. On the left hand, side in this category you’ll see the number one product there’s only five products here. You get 90 percent commission right here and if you want to see how it works, you just copy right here, your affiliate link, so you would copy your affiliate link, looks something like that, but what I like to do is I like to shorten the link.
I like to use a link shortener such as bitly to shorten the link and what you do with bitly. Is you just copy your link in here? Then you prettify it now. Let me show you what it actually looks like when somebody clicks on the link. So what it looks like when somebody clicks on the link is, it says, start working from home today and it says without any experienced tech skills, a product or an audience, and we have a american celebrity as currently as one of the endorsers of the book.
There’s a long page which explains what you get, but what’s most important, is you start for a dollar and, what’s even better, is you’ll see there is a $ 39 95 cent monthly recurring program here that starts after 30 days, which means you earn 90 % of All of this you earn 90 % of the dollar. You earn 90 % of this. Now. Imagine if you just got two people every single day to spend one dollar. You got two people every single day to spend one dollar.
How much recurring revenue would you have? Let’s do the math so two people a day times 30 days. This is $ 2. Hopefully you’re good enough to get two people to spend $ 1 right, easy type and easy. If you think you can get two people a day to spend one dollar type in easy in the comments, so that means you’re getting 60 customers. So the recurring revenue is 90 percent of $ 40. We’re going to times that by 90 percent times 40.
That’s thirty-six dollars, so you have 60 customers times $ 36 a month right. That’s your recurring revenue, but basically that will leave you with two thousand one hundred and sixty dollars a monthly, recurring revenue. If you can get two people to spend one dollar every day, you will be getting roughly $ 2,200 you’ll be getting over $ 2,000 a month in recurring revenue and you’ll be selling a book that genuinely helps people.
Now you might be asking. Why am I doing this well I’ve thousands of subscribers here? If I make 10 percent of the efforts of thousands of people, I end up ahead, no matter what and either way I’m looking to change the world. There’s a revolution going on right now, folks, as people working at home companies don’t want to hire people in offices anymore, people are moving out of the cities. We got to help lead the revolution and I want to be at the forefront of things.
So, in order to monetize all you need to do, is you need to post your link below the article and say it? The book or just say, learn more get the book and you just post that below the article that you post up and you can start earning money because whenever you post up a article of me, people are already reading me. They’ll be very willing to spend $ 1 in order to learn more ways to make more money.
For instance, on page number 34, I share with foe a little over a dozen websites of where they can earn as much as $ 50. An hour working online people are willing to spend a dollar to learn that. Furthermore, there are workbook questions in each chapter, just like a school textbook, learn and really ingrain the knowledge in their head. This is built like a school textbook. It’s built to help people retain knowledge, because working at home is a whole new thing not on in school.
Now. Here are a bunch of other websites that you can actually post on. You can post on Facebook. You can post articles on LinkedIn. You can post articles on mixer, twitch, periscope, Lutz D live zing. We major league gaming ste. I don’t even know all these sites. Vaughn live et cetera. You can post on all these sites, but the point being is you have the articles? You have the way to make money, you have the knowledge and the ability to download and upload these articles, and the math is all worked out for you.
You just need to get two people a day, spend a dollar right and you need to post these articles up as many places as possible to see where you can get viewers where you can clicks. Do this folks there’s a lot of articles on my blog. I would start with the articles that are getting the most views, because those are the most popular. Those are the ones that resonate the most with the widest audience vary up.
The text vary up. The titles do what you need to do, but get the articles out there post them up, find ways to get traffic and find ways to get people to click on your affiliate links, because you do this, you will create recurring income to allow you to live a Life that is very different from everybody else, and it’s amazing. I talked about in other articles how much money I make a month, but it’s over a hundred thousand dollars a month insane.
I never thought I’d be in the position. I am in this life, but it’s fantastic. It’s really cool, but I don’t wear fancy things. You can live life whatever way you want so go. She is a super super successful blogger who is totally killing it. She makes six figures, seven figures blogging and she does all very niche and she’s super super niche. She does only cry cricket cricket, crass um, she’s, a Jennifer maker calm, and she just shows how to do anything on the cricket. Look how cute that rainbow is how to personalize your cues with iron on vinyl, and so I would say of everybody that I know that she is absolutely the most Nietzsche person.
Okay, so now we have spaceships and laser beams. This is more of a general niche blog. This is from my internet friend Stephanie and she does. She started with party ideas, games things baby showers and then she decided that she was going to branch into food, so it doesn’t mean if you start one way and we’re going to talk about that a little bit with my blog in a little bit. It doesn’t mean if you start one way, that you can’t go and have other niches after that, but you want to pick something that you really enjoy we’re going to talk about that a lot more.
I wanted to show you a few of the different sites. First, okay, so this is hilarious. I love Jen she’s, another internet friend, she’s, primarily a food, blogger, okay, and what she does is recipes. But then she has this whole group of things um. What does she call it? She she melts stuff. So if she melts crayons, she does real well, she has a blog post about melting um, the little hard candies chocolate chip cookies, anything shed, she’s hilarious.
She says if she could melt it, she can get traffic to it, so hers is mostly recipes right. So this is a functionally a food blog. I’m going to close these as I go, so that so that I don’t samandar nettle, no faster okay. So this is a friend friend in real life. This is Lena and she does make money. So how did you extra income she’s a ton of free printables which drive a lot of traffic and the funny thing for her? Is I mean they’re, not fancy free, printables they’re, just like how to print a rainbow, and you can see somebody printing this out and sticking it to their window, while everybody’s sticking things to their windows.
So this is super easy she’s. She doesn’t make it hard. She also has a little section on how to start a blog, so you can use that on you’ll see a lot of the mom bloggers do that this is a gal. I love this is Carly and she does um like work from home. How to give yourself an hour now the funny thing about Carly. This is where we’re going to be thinking about things. She started with pregnancy, birth and labor and breastfeeding when she was a sorry about that when she was a new mom and that was all her site was about, that is the stuff she gets the most traffic for and now she’s like okay, I don’t have babies Anymore um, so now she wants to branch into other things, those aren’t as popular right away, but eventually they could become more popular, but she isn’t um.
She isn’t just abandoning what she did before. She still occasionally writes about that, but she’s segwaying into something different. Okay. Next, Oh Living Well spending less this, this lady um. She her name is Ruth. She does really well. She started her blog because she had to learn to save money and she’s a financial blogger. So when we’re going to talk about niches or Nisha’s, however, you want to say it um, you can do a niche out of anything like hers is a money-saving blog how to eat, how to eat well on them.
On a budget pantry staples, simple changes: you can make to save money, so hers is all about not Finance necessarily but personal finance more on a smaller level, brilliant business moms, this lady toad. I love her Beth Ann um. She is uh. She was kind of about how to make money, but I kind of segwayed kind of focused her niche right into Facebook ads now, and she does a lot with that and she also has a podcast.
She interviews, people she has a planner. She does Instagram things like that, so her source, more business-related and I think, a lot of times when people think about having a niche they think. Oh, I have to be a mom blogger, but you can be a business blogger. You can do whatever you want now. This lady Gillian, she has a huge site like this – is the largest party site on the Internet. She started it with user-generated content and what that means is that the people who come to her blog are the ones that help give her ideas.
So these are other people taking pictures of their own party, and that gives her all of the content for her blog and she does very well on Pinterest we’re going to talk about how to market your blog. We’re going to talk a little bit about setting up your blog, I’m going to talk about lots of things over the next 30 days, but today we’re just talking about much, and so this is my I blog. This is my main blog and what’s what I’ve started with it? I want to talk to you about this a lot, because this is super important.
When I started, I wanted to do marketing for entrepreneurs, and I did not want to get niche down and then I was just coming off of my real estate career. So I had written a kind of blog post about how to my kids are homeschooling. Now so you’ll see those notifications how to be a realtor. How did you marketing as a realtor things like that? So that was my very first niche and it was an accidental lunch and then in so I started that in 2008 I was just trying to get business for my services business, so you can start a blog not to make money on traffic to your blog.
But you can start a blog to get service people, so I know that I see Pat was here. Okay Pat was here um. She has a financial services she’s a financial advisor things like that, so her blog is going to want to focus on ways for her customers to save money, to protect their investments, to do all those things, and now hers is a little bit more complicated because she Has to have hers, go through a compliance department, which is fine.
It’s going to take her a little bit longer to get started right because she’s going to write a post and then it has to go to compliance, but if she starts writing posts now, what will happen is they’re going to build up and she’s going to be Able to do it all of us have to start that way. I have like 800 blog posts. I started with one blog post, like everybody else is going to do, but when I started my Etsy that was in 2015, my traffic doubled, because I was very specific.
It’s a very specific niche for Etsy sellers and most of my traffic honestly comes both to Etsy or to real estate. I do get some for product photography and things like that, but a lot of my traffic comes to those two niches which that has really helped me alright. Last but not least, about picking a niche in my life. This is so interesting, and this is why you should just start um. I started this blog artsy fartsy life about two years ago, when my dog nipped a lady.
She said he bit her, which I guess is true, and so I was a little depressed and when I’m depressed I write so I started writing and I wrote about essential oils, because that I took a class about it and then I just started writing blog posts About how to use it for anxiety, how to use it for ADHD, how to do all those things, and then honestly I let it sit for about a year I wrote occasionally: oh, I wrote some posts about like how to dress yourself as a woman over 50.
I wrote some posts about who I wrote about our adoption story and it was truly a general blog and then my mom, who has dementia, moved in my mother-in-law and I started writing caregiver posts. And so these get the most traffic from Pinterest to my site and Pinterest is my highest traffic source, and so I I get the most traffic to these just far and away and that’s fine it. But it’s a little part of my site over here.
My family part, and then I decided I was going to take this seriously. I was going to take this website seriously and really try to grow it, and I had a friend saying well: why don’t you just make it a dementia site and for me that isn’t um, it’s really the stories that I hear and the questions people have they’re. Just so sad and that’s not something that, like I don’t mind them, I’m more than happy to answer any other questions, but I don’t want to build my whole fun site on something.
That’s just not that fun. So I decided to start doing crafts, which I started with journaling, okay, and so I do magazine journal pages and that’s fun. I get traffic to that and then finally, I wound up with adult crafts, where I kind of do, I would say well or so I do painted crafts, decoupage crafts things like that, and that’s what I like doing. I even have a project sitting over there that I’m going to be doing.
That should be super fun. But if you’d asked me the day that I started my blog, what I wanted it to be about, I would have said, maybe adoption, maybe essential oils. Maybe things like that, so what you need to do is – and this is the best way to do it you need to for a week or for today, if you want to stay open to 30 days, but for a period of time write down everything you like To do okay, so if I were to pick things I like to paint I like to cut up magazines, I like to sell on Etsy I like old things, so I have a vintage Etsy store, I’m a really cool creative sign over my head and an old Rodeo pointy guy, I like dogs, my dogs are here um, I like cats.
I, like I, don’t like cooking, so I would never have a blog where it was cooking based. I did think maybe I could do some cocktails because I do like cocktails, but I’m going to find out. I don’t like doing that either and that’s fine. What you’re going to do is. I would pick three things to start with. Okay, I know a lot of people say: Jennifer maker says pick one thing to start with, but for me, if I had picked one thing to start with and stayed with it first off, I wouldn’t have liked my blog as much because then I would have just Been stuck with essential oils, which I like essential oils, but not that much and I would have then maybe gone to dementia, and I don’t mind writing about that, especially when something comes up that I really think I could help other people with.
I don’t mind about that, but what my real left turns out to be is to make these crafts, and so you want your you want to have not a general blog everything. You know you don’t write about what you had for lunch. You don’t want to write about what your kids are doing. Nobody cares. You want to write about something specific that you can help other people with, but I don’t think you have to pick just one thing, especially if you’re just starting
We’ve actually learned that two more clients in December. So you know, we’ll just add, like the new results and stuff like that, obtain revamp in the portfolio that we can send on to future potential potential clients anyway, one of the one of our ads starts doing really well, so we spend five hundred.
Thousands in ad spends, you know, we’ve got five hundred thousand Aspen for our clients and we got them a two point. You can scale that shop through Facebook Ads. We can Lesley create a high income from that.
Also, you can sell it as a service to other people that don’t know how to do it or you can help other businesses grow by using Facebook Ads, and that is a difference between you know: high income skills and low income skills. So, for example, if you work as a baker know you get paid hourly, you get paid 10 euros an hour, something like that. It’s a baked bread. You know that is a low income skill.
If you get you know, if you stop working, they can find someone else. They can find someone else to do it for you, but with Facebook Ads know, let’s say I stop where humana clients that clients are going to struggle to find someone who is just as good as me in facebook has just ago that our agency, obviously I’m not You know I don’t do all this by myself, so that is why this is a high income scale, and that is it.
That is why I have got the possibility to work from home because you know, and I’m literally a more money than people who were. You know in shop in a restaurant in a bakery. You know anything like that. A lot of people think that’s weird, that I have more money at home than they do waking a full-time job, and that’s because I you know, focus on high income skills, and that is also something that I really focus on in lifestyle design.

So these are all all the topics, and especially analytics or all these topics are coming more and more every year we see so actually today we have a we had our demo in the morning and there was about a situation there as a retail banking customer, a Guy named Remco was not very happy of how his bank is treating him, because he exclaimed that he’s getting irrelevant offers spam, how he called him, and we were trying to explain how banks can understand their customers more by unlocking the opportunities in the data they already Have so basically, we went into into this guy lemkos financial life of how much money does he earn? It’s that he had an irregular income is a freelancer, but still he had quite a significant amount that his account at the end of the year and also he earns money from different sources.
We saw that, based from his retail banking data, his bank knows about him. They could predict that he lives in partly Amsterdam, partly London. He was a keen sportsman, runner and also this guy was driving a car back in his hometown. Amsterdam spent a lot of money at Shell to fill up his car, so lots of lots of interesting, smaller vehicle behavior profiles that banks can use to personalize banking communication to their clients and even start offering personalized banking products.
And that was the the next thing that that we we showed that personalized the banking service that our banking product, the trimco was offered was a flexible loan, because our machine learning algorithm predicted the trimco will run out of money in five days. If he’s spending the same way as he usually spends money and he didn’t have any foreseeable income, so this why we said: okay, why not have a 5,000 pound loan to straighten out your cash flow which which he was happy with so so there’s the type of Interaction, we try to enable our empower banks with to be able to based on their data understanding, to be able to personalize their customer communication and offer personalized banking services to them.
