Do I am a car starting about the length of a blog post? It’s a really common question that we get time and time again and it’s come in on the QA for this week. Yes, Marissa Jenkins has asked that question. How long should a blog post be and well I’ve decided to take on that challenge because I know a thing or two about size or blog posts, just so what care blog post right? Marissa! Thanks for the question when it comes to the size of a blog post, there’s no hard and fast answer like everything in life, everyone is different.
Everyone is unique, some will be longer than others. Some will be shorter than worse. Some will need to be longer that aren’t long enough and some will be too short that they just can’t have enough energy. So how do you make sure you’ve got the right length of a blog post? It’s a tricky one to wait! Oh well! Let me give you some advice: conventional wisdom around SEO will tell you that anything over 350 words has a better chance of getting ranked well, that is true, but we found that actually blog posts longer than a thousand words get ranked even better.
In fact, only 6 % of bloggers are creating content with more than 2,000 words. So if you’re looking to stand out with a piece of content, maybe it needs to be over 2,000 words to really stand out. So that’s just if you’re looking for an epic piece of content that you really want to impact with. Maybe it needs to be 2,000 words or more now, for your standard, blog post. How long should that be? Well, it depends really on what the standard is again within your niche.
There’s going to be a lot of other bloggers, regardless of what you’re writing in, but you can be pretty sure that a good few blogger is already talking about this company, so maybe take a blog post of theirs copy it and then paste it into word and You’ll see the word count and do that for a couple of bloggers within your niche see what their typical length of blog post comes out like ten people pick 10 because the maps are in okay, kids take a note of how long the blogpost are, and that Will give you an average called the blog post, but most bloggers within your niche are producing.
It will give you an idea what your benchmark should be for standard content. What your benchmark should be for super pieces of content and it’ll also give you an idea as if you wanted to do a short, quick, well postal, a short Creek Road close to you or I could be 3 or 500 words for two people within your niche. A short blog post could be just 100 words, or it could be a thousand words, so understanding where your niche is in terms of the types and length of blog posts that are going out there will help.
You then decide how long your blog post should be for us. For me, in particular, our blog post generally, especially at the moment, are coming in well over 1,500 words, if not over 2,000 words, in fact, I’ve just written a first draft or vocals. Today, that’s two thousand two hundred and fourteen words and that’s like forged wrap, so that will give you an idea of the types of content we create now.
Having said that, most of the content we create will have a kind of help to list element to it. So we’re trying to convey a message, we’re trying to show people how to do something or we’re explaining something. So that does take time to convey in a blog post, whereas if it was a quick bit of news like our fantasy football side, when we report on the news, those articles would probably be just about 350 400 words, no more, no less precise enough to give You the facts, but not long enough to bore you, so that’s what you’re kind of looking at so there is no definitive hard and fast answer.
Look at! What’s going on within your niche look at what other people are doing and then decide. Does this style of blog post, I’m writing soup the length of time I have to write above 4. So if you’re writing a hell, when you’ve only got time, maybe to not go 500 words, you might be able to do one at the time you have. You. May need to read you your schedule to push that whenever maybe write it at a later date, so just think about the style of blog post.
Can you convey what you need to convey within that style within a limit and that’s what it comes down to and really the best piece of advice? I can give you when it comes to how long a vocal should be is a blog post. It always be as long as it needs to be with short enough to be engaged, so don’t try and draw it out just because you’re trying to hit a word count and if you can take out some unnecessary words.
I do suggest you do something. In fact, I linked to a recent article in the description below with nine ending tips for bloggers, and it’s something that I spoke about recently on the blog that will help you wan na, come to editing your blog content and also will have a bearing on how Long, your blog posts are going to be so what I will say is don’t worry about it, really how long it’s going to be, but if you want it to rank well, then it’s got to be over 350.
As we know, I would say it’s got to be over five, at least if you really want to stand out from the crowd. You’ve got to do something bigger and bolder than what’s already out there, but don’t start out creating a piece of blog content with a ward count in mind. Have it as long as it needs to be, but short enough to cover all of the points. So that’s it Marissa. Thank you very much for your question today and don’t forget folks.

Thank you so much for joining me happy new year, it’s january, I believe the 16 since Monday, Martin Luther King holiday, and it’s been a long time since I’ve done an actual face to face on camera head bobbing article – and, let me just say 2016, was a Very it was an interesting year. I get a lot of consensus that a lot of people went through a lot of struggles and there were some some trials and tribulations, and I can attach to some of that as well.
But I can also attest that I had some major gains in my business. I started another business added to my portfolio of income streams and that was amazing meeting the new people involved in that, and it was just really exciting towards the end of the year. However, the little tribulation started happening personally I got sick, I got it started off with just a cold that seemed like it just SAT my test for weeks and weeks and weeks and i’m coughing and coughing in that.
As soon as I told a friend who would had asked me, you know how you’re cold, how you doing I said: oh yeah, I’m feeling better my cold. The cost seems to be subsiding the very next day my cold turned into the flu a full-blown flu. Now I don’t think I have i’ve had the flu since I was a little girl. No, I don’t take the flu shot, usually I’m taking care of myself, but I have to admit that I had not throughout the whole year 2016.
Probably the last two years. I want to say I have not taken any vitamins I used to be a very into you know: supplementation, because you don’t get it in your foods. I’ve been eating crap, just because I’ve been running around and ripping and running, and just really not taking care of. My south, so the last couple of months of 2016 – I don’t know about you, but when I’m sick, I don’t want to do anything.
I don’t want to talk to anybody, I’m not trying to talk about my business, i’m not blogging, I’m not doing anything. I have no inspiration. I have no motivation. I just want to lay there when I get home I want to whatever it is that I’m doing for the day. I just you know it. I just don’t have any kind of inclination to to do anything. I would want to go a few say something else, but yeah that’s TMI, but, and so, and I still have a little bit of the cough left over from the flu.
It’s taking forever to go away. My husband also got sick. It’s just been crazy, but I can say all that and say this, even through all of that, where I wasn’t working my business at all. For a couple of months, my business was still producing, I was still getting leads. I was still getting sales. I was still getting signups because I had set up my brand. I had a brand and I was blogging and i’m getting leads from blogs that I did way back in the beginning of the year.
So, there’s something to be said for creating your online brand, which includes having a website, that’s branded to you that talks about your passions, not just your business, but you want to add your passions. So you have more to talk about than just business and believe me, it’ll be working for you, 24 7. You can create a blog post a year from now and you’ll start getting leads on it in a few months and you’ll just continue to get leads from that one blog post and and I’m when I say blogging, I’m not just talking about you know you go To blogger com – and you create your free account and just start talking about anything, i’m talking about strategic blogging for people who are in business, preferably not probably but mostly network marketers direct sellers realtor’s, because those blog posts, like I said, are working for you.
24 7. Even when you don’t feel like doing anything, you’re still getting weeds from that blog and obviously that when you’re blogging, you should have your autoresponder. So, there’s a lot of little components that goes along with blogging and having a website, like, I said not just from the free account but having your own branded, hosted self hosted website. That’s branded to you, because people really don’t do business with businesses.
They want to do business with people, people that they can know like and trust. Now people say well, I have you know I have facebook, social media. I can just do stuff on there. You can that’s true, but that stuff isn’t going to you’re not going to get a lead from a blog. I mean from a Facebook post that you post is a year ago. You might somebody might find it and like it, but more than likely you’re not going to get a lead from it right, so social media can’t be trusted.
I’m sorry! Yes, it’s a great place to prospect. It’s a great place to market and to get people to kind of see you, but when it comes down to it, you want to have your own branded blog. Okay, so – and I call it blog strategic blogging or blogging on purpose – and there are certain elements to a blog post that creates traffic and leads to whatever it is that you’re marketing, selling or sign up for your direct sales business or for your realtor or business Or whatever it’s it’s, I if I had known how important it is to have something like that working for you when you’re sick.
I know it now, because when I got sick like I said I did not want to do anything. Thank goodness I had set up my brand beforehand and now it’s working for me, and so I’m going to be talking a lot about that in 2017 and helping people create a blog that actually serves. I mean it’s twofold is serving the purpose of your reader and you at the same time. So it’s a give-and-take you’re, not just taking you know, especially getting your direct sales, it kind of gets.
I don’t know for me the idea of always trying to get somebody trying to tackle somebody sign up for my business and join my team and there’s more to business. That’s what a distributor does that’s not what a business owner does, and I want to talk to people who want to be business owners who are choosing the network marketing business model, but they want a more efficient, more fun way to build your business and have your Business working for you and you’re living that true laptop lifestyle.
Let me tell you, as the introvert mogul I got online because I did not want to have to do the traditional traditional network, marketing stress strategies that I was being taught and a lot of my and even in the business that I am now. It is a network marketing business, they are very traditional. They are very all about traveling, all over the city, in your town and building up your town and talking to your friends and family, and you know you got to make sure that they sign up the wonder if they do it have them.
Do it as a favor to you and it’s really all the very old school type training and most network marketing companies are going to teach you that because that’s the easiest thing to teach, but it’s not the most constructive. It’s not leveraging your time when you talk to people who have got some success in their network marketing business and they did it through the traditional means that you hear a lot about the struggle.
Oh, it was hard and people drop out and you’re going here and you’re running there. I never saw my kids, you don’t have to do that anymore. You don’t have to not see your kids in your family anymore. You can truly run your business from your laptop and you can have your business working for you, while you’re on vacation, okay, while you’re if you’re sick. If you’re you know you don’t feel like doing anything that day, your business can still be working for you.
So you want to leverage the internet and I don’t just mean social media marketing you a lot of times. I would talk to people in my network, marketing company and they say well. Online marketing doesn’t work, but they really have no idea what online marketing is. When I say when they say think online marketing, they think social, media marketing and really that’s not even marketing – that’s prospecting.
Social media marketing is mainly prospecting and most people don’t even do that right, okay, there and I won’t even go into that. But that’s going to be the topic of my discussion for the rest of 2017 because I think a really really important thing and it’s going to help give people an alternative to how they build their business. And it’s going to be in a way that they’ve loved and they enjoy doing because, if you’re in a business – and it’s a drudgery for you, if you don’t enjoy doing what you’re doing, then you might as well just get a second job.
Because it’s not worth it, it’s not worth having to cry. You know every day because you’re so exhausted and you don’t feel like you’re. You know you feel, like you’re just take take taking from people to try and get them to sign up from your business it. When I talk about attraction marketing, when I talk about branding you, this kind of business is so much more. Fulfilling people are coming to you, instead of you having to chase them.
Okay and I’m going to stop right there, because my dog’s crying and I need to take them out so let’s thank you so much for joining me make sure to subscribe to my youtube blog, I mobile television or I mobile TV, and I’m going to be like I said I’m talking about a lot about blogging and really helping people understand how to create a blog and how to create a blog post, how to how to do it in a way, that’s fun and exciting for you, alright.
So once again, thank you so much for joining me happy new year and too much success to you and your family. Alright, bye, bye! For now you you
I can assure you that the content will be rich. It’s just that today has been very different, and this recordings taken place on the 7th of April 2020 with a whole will is on a lockdown, well, the UK’s on lockdown, as we speak, China’s recovered extremely well and they are distributing products all over the world like Sanitizers hand sanitizers face masks, gloves, humidifiers or different types of products to protect you from the coronavirus.
Ok, China has over 6,000 manufacturing plants built as we speak, and they are thriving in business and if he wasn’t aware China, they have been thinking a hundred years into the future in terms have been becoming a superpower. Ok, what does that mean? It needs our love. Colonization will take place so in terms of certain borders, he will definitely have selected folk from China go in to certain people groups and introduce the concepts the mindset of China so that everyone’s thinking on one Accord we’re talking domination here.
So with that in mind, this is a great time of opportunity and everyone sees things differently. You know you can have a think from a half-empty or half-full perspective. If millions of people is saying, there’s no jobs, it’s a perfect opportunity to create one and you’ll. Have millions of people flocking you for work, you know. So in these times of uncertainty, it’s a great time to set up your business.
Now I don’t know what you’re passionate about what you love doing. What your ideas are. I know my approach is different tonight. It’s just that. It’s been long and it’s been on my heart to share something with you: a stock, some like chips in the oven, some chicken I’ll just fall out just sharing raw rugged face to face heart to heart article with you, because I know right now. It’s a ton of people that struggling in terms of finances, because duality is when it comes to financial security.
The best way you can be financially secure to be self-sufficient. If you got a skill, a vehicle, anything that can generate income, it’s important that you use that vehicle generate income until you find yourself in employment. So to speak. Even when you define yourself, employment always keep your vehicle alive, that’s going to create assets and not liabilities, because when people didn’t have the answer, what you’re going to do? You can’t point it where you can’t point your fingers and blame people.
I mean one day. You can have a job and the next day you lose it. That’s what’s happening around the world as we speak, people who’s losing the jobs. What do you do depend on the handout, a stimulus package, because, if you do that, then, what’s that backed by if that’s backed by your mortgage, your house, if that’s backed by something that you own an asset, the reality is, if you’re dependent on your job to Pay back the loan from the government, the chances are, you may lose that job and if the interest has been whacked up on that loan, you’re going to be in a bit of a pickle which means you’re going to be in a bit of a predicament.
Do you know how problems in terms of uncertainty people take, they tend to make decisions based on fear, worry, anxiety, etc. So if you do have any skills ideas, things that you’re passionate about turn your passion into profit and create a blog, I think that’s a great place to start for any single person. That is in a situation where they can see that term changes come in and you know you need to do something not now, but right now, I think, on the best things you can do is become an expert in a field that you’re passionate about whether that We cook in driving teaching creating products services.
Speaking no elocution skills education. You could be a scientist you may have whatever information you have, that you can share with the world package it into a product and sell it online and by starting a blog. He built in trust when you build trust of people only become likable. People will then invest in you, you see so it’s easy having the skills, but until you have like a platform where people can listen to you hear you learn about what you can deliver see.
What you can deliver where they can see testimonials about stuff they’ve already done. Only then will people invest in you. It’s important. I believe that everyone should have a blog, pretending to whatever industry, then a personal blog and to monetize. It, like, I said, turn your information into packages, whether it be an e-book, a article, the course podcast people and stream, your podcast online, and you can offer like them and have a button where people can click on it and make donations if they believe in what You are doing if it’s adding value to them and they believe that you can add value to others.
People will support what you are about, so a great place to start is by creating a a log, Hadji creator blog well, there’s plenty of articles on YouTube that I will show you how. However, i’ve got links in the description box below you can click on them links and learn. I am here to support you if you need support with your digital marketing articles. If you have a ministry as an example, maybe have a church and due to the economic collapse, you need to get offline and go online and stay connected with your people.
Then I can help you. I can build platforms that will keep your people connected anyway. This isn’t a time to fear. This is a time to build. Ok, so I encourage you to feed your faith starve it out brainstorm, get a piece of paper, write down all the things that you enjoy doing and then look at how you can monetize your talents, your gifts, right, it’s important! It’s important there’s plenty of room at the top and we need to help each other there’s plenty of room at the top.
So I encourage you to take massive action, simple steps day by day until you get to that place where you know you truly want to be so either change. You want to see subscribe to my newsletter, there’s a link in the description box below 100 % free I’ve got a site where you can literally learn about systems formulas online, marketing, affiliate marketing. I started out as an affiliate marketer in 2008, I was invited to her instant mark and seminar and met a gentleman called Mark anastasi.
He went on to be a multi-millionaire as future this out of his book, the laptop millionaire. I started to take copious notes and follow. Why say things that he was doing and I was getting rewards for doing so for creating systems and adding value. If I can do it, you can do as well. So here I am, it’s been a privilege and honor speaking to you at sort of a time as this in that step is to collect, let’s build.
So thank you for listening and I’ll speak to you very soon. God bless bye.
Now I’m a computer science engineer, but after having worked in the corporate world for about five years, I quit my job and start this blog called digital inspiration. Now this blog mostly has how-to guides in software tutorials around all things tech. I start this blog in 2004.
So it’s almost 10 years now that I have been talking now. It was a very different story back then there was no Facebook or Twitter and the only way people could subscribe to your blog was through RSS feeds or through email newsletters. Also, Google was a mere collection. Google search results were a mere collection of 10 blue links, so it was relatively easy to get on the front pages of Google. It’s almost impossible now.
Also people would maintain blog roles and link roles, so if they found something interesting, they would generously link to you today. If I find something interesting on the internet, I either tweet it or put it on Facebook, but back then people would generously link to your stuff from their own blogs. So what does it take to become a successful blogger? Now, frankly speaking, there are no secrets or magic van that will make your blog a success, but I think it’s a combination of good luck, hard work and consistency in one of my recent interviews with Lifehacker.
They asked me how I work and I said I work enthusiastic Lee and I work diligently. I do not see my blog as work. I see that as my hobby, it’s like getting paid for your hobby, I’m always looking forward to working on my site. The next morning, I’m always looking to improve my site, and I think this this attitude has kept me going all these years. So in this article I will try to try to summarize some of my learnings and I will try to share some tips that will probably help improve your blog and take it to the next level.
So, let’s get started tip number one. I think this is the most important one you should move to WordPress if you’re on blogger, do your blog, a favor and move everything to WordPress. It isn’t complicated and will definitely help you in the long run, especially from the search engine perspective. Now. Blogger is a great platform, it’s easy and they have some great visual templates, but the biggest drawback with blogger is that blocks everything from search engines that not an article or opposed.
Also. It is relatively difficult to tickle with the back end and that may become a bottleneck once you want to take your blog to the next level. There’s another big concern that I have with bloggers, and that is it’s mostly a distraction for Google now Google. In the past have mercilessly killed products that have been very popular, for example, Google Reader, I’m not saying that Google will kill bloggers someday, but why build your business on something where you do not have enough control on the platform itself? The content you write is definitely the most important part, but at the same time you got to have a good and interesting writing style to really attract an audience.
You just cannot say that this is how I write. This is my site and that’s how it will be good. Writing is a gift that comes naturally to some of us, but if you happen to be in the other half, please get some good books. There’s the element of style. There is on writing by Stephen King. There is on writing well and also eat shoots and leaves right the drafts in a proper editor. You could use Microsoft Word or Poetica, because these will highlight all the typos and grammatical errors in your writing.
You don’t want them to appear on the main site, because that will convey a really bad impression. I would also recommend getting a style guide, something like the New York Times style guide or The Associated Press style book, because they will help you develop a consistent writing style. These style guides have accepted writing rules for journalism, and there is no reason why you cannot apply those rules to your own style of writing.
Don’t try to imitate someone else’s style. You have your own personal style and your blog readers are following your blog because they love your style. Make your writing your own. You don’t have to imitate someone. Not do you have to write your blog as, if you’re writing a press release make it personal. The most important part of a blog is actually the post headline in suddenly everybody is trying to do BuzzFeed style headlines.
This is why the Apple read is not round the chart that Google executives don’t want you to see. You will never believe what Facebook will and will next now with these headlines. What happens is that you raise the expectation level of the audience and when they read the actual content, they are often disappointed. Such headlines do invite visitors. But what is the point of a visit when the person is just glancing at your site and leaving it disappointed? My suggestion would be that you have boring headlines that are accurate, but they not be very cute or clever.
Everyone should be able to guess what article is all about by looking at the post headline itself: there’s a lot of noise in the blogging world and there’s a mad rush to report something new. But I take a step back and think. Are you really adding any value or just contributing to the echo chamber? It is probably the job of the mainstream media. Are the really big blogs to publish news, as happens, but for the rest of us? We can step back and only say when we have something interesting to say: you won’t lose much if you aren’t among the first few to reporter news, just say no to gas blogging, I mean think like a business when you aren’t getting anything in return by giving Away a content to other side for free.
Yes, it will help raise your profile on the Internet. If you manage to write for repeated and authoritative sites like TechCrunch or The Huffington Post, but 99 % of the guest blogging on the Internet is done to direct some link juice to your actual website, but that’s just waste also, as your blog will grow popular you Will see that big publishers are approaching you asking for permission to republish your stuff? Now don’t get too excited about this? They will promise you eyeballs in turn, for your content, but that won’t actually happen.
People will just read your content on their side and go away. What you should instead ask for is a two-way partnership. If they can republish your stuff, would they be? Ok if you republish their stuff on your own website, always make it a point to use good high-resolution images or screenshots with your blog post. This helps for two reasons: when people share your content on social sites like Twitter and Facebook, your story may stand out in the crowded newsfeed just because of that image.
The other important reason is that you can cleverly use images to draw attention to parts of a page that you want to emphasize and if your articles are really long, you can use an image to add break points to add visual break points, and it goes without Saying that you should only use images that you have either captured or those that are in the public domain or under Creative Commons and never ever use stock images on your blog.
They look good on corporate sites, but not on blogs. It is definitely important to rank well in Google search pages, but the problem is that none of us really know how Google works. They have some 200 plus factors to decide the ranks of web pages, and we only know about a few of them. The fact is that, as long as you have the basics right, the cream will automatically rise to the top. So here are a few SEO related tips that will probably help you improve.
The visibility of your blog in search engines 1 have an HTML sitemap so that all your pages are no more than two or three levels deep from the homepage. This will help the Googlebot and other search engine. Bots discover your content when writing content. When writing block was make sure that it’s well organized and that it has headings subheadings and your images should have titles and captions always interlink your content, so that both human visitors, as well as the search BOTS, can find the goal.
That’s hiding in your archives. Also, when it’s not just about the headlines, you should also pay special attention to the excerpt, because that will show up in search, snippets and other places when people share your content on social sites, because people will use that snippet as well to decide whether they really Want to click that link and come to your site or not. You should never rely on your blogging software to auto-generate that, except you should always write it on your own.
Any web page on your website has two parts. There is the main content which includes the actual article that you have written and then there is the common content stuff, like the navigation area, the footer, the sidebar stuff, that’s present across all pages on your site, so in your HTML source, you should ensure that the Main content is above the common content, because that will help search engines understand what your page is all about.
Also, he should use breadcrumbs because that will help search engines understand the organization of content on your site. Do pay attention to your site’s typography, because reading experience matters, google has released some good fonts like Roboto, open sense that look good across all screens, including mobile devices, and you can consider using these fonts on your website as well site. Speed is definitely important, because if your website doesn’t load in a few seconds, people will abandon your site and go to another one.
So what you can do about it? You can switch to a good host make sure that your images are compressed. Your sites, assets like the CSS and JavaScript files, are cacheable and also try to keep your site simple. I mean keep all the bells and whistles out of your site so that your pages load fast. It goes without saying that you’ve got to switch to a responsive design. It’s a Google recommended practice and it will also help you save time, because you don’t have to maintain two versions of your site, one for the desktop and one for the mobile.
While you may be drowning in email. There are a lot of people who still prefer to get the daily dose of News through the email newsletter and therefore important that you use a professional service to send your email newsletters. Now, services, like MailChimp have an RSS to email functionality that will automatically convert your RSS feed into an email newsletter, but I would suggest, is don’t use these services instead handcraft your email newsletter, because the response rate, the open rate, will be much much higher good and Useful content automatically spreads on the internet, but if that’s not happening with your content, for some reason, it will not be a bad idea to pitch people, but who should who? Should you pitch fellow bloggers? Well, there is no harm if you can keep your emails short and do it occasionally, but do you really know who you should contact when you have written something good and useful? You should contact someone who has previously commented on your story.
You should contact someone who has previously shared your story on social sites. These are the people who are really fans of your work and they will happily evangelize your content and I think it’s much better going after them than the influencers who are extremely busy and they may not even have the time to read your emails when someone lands On your website, for the first time, they are very likely to check your about a space to know more about you and whether you are really an expert at some topic.
So that’s your window of opportunity to impress him and to convert him from a casual visitor into a regular visitor, so make sure that you have written are really good about this page. But what should it contain? Well, it must have links to your most popular. Your most important posts that you have written you should make it easy for people to subscribe to your content. There should be a search button so that people can search your archives and, if you’ve ever been mentioned in the press of the media, make sure that you have a list there, because that will make your bio more credible.
To someone who doesn’t know you. This are probably the easiest way to get traffic on your website there easier to scan. They are easier to write and they’re more likely to go viral now, once in a while is okay, but if you are only focused on producing list post on your blog, readers are less likely to appreciate it if you’ve been blogging for a while. You know that there is old content in your archives.
That’s either not relevant or some of the links old articles may no longer be working. Now. I would suggest, keep updating your old articles so that they always stay fresh and relevant. This may be your personal preference, but if something is of no use, it can probably be removed from your blog, because you are not running a newspaper or a legal firm where every document has to be preserved. I will give you an example here.
I had a lot of Orkut related posts on my blog. They were relevant and useful when I wrote them few years ago, but now that Orkut is no longer available, those posts are pretty useless. So I had two options. I can either let them stay in the archives or I may get rid of them permanently and direct all that juice to something more relevant and more related. Think of the reader first and the revenue later now.
Advertising is definitely important, but if you only focus on the commercial angle for your blog, it is difficult to build a loyal audience in the long run. Adsense buy, sell ads and blog ads is some good advertising networks, but you should always stay away from those low and advertising networks that happily runs comets on the other side, because, ultimately, you are responsible for what ads are shown to your visitors on your site.
You can easily attract the attention of other website owners by generously linking to them, because your blog posts will show up in their site logs. They may check out your blog and ultimately help spread the word among their audience. You can also add depth to your post by linking to other websites that have covered the same topic, but may have a different perspective. Some people even suggest that Google prefers pages that have links and they see them as more trusty and more authoritative.
I will give you the example of a medical site here, so you have two sites that have almost the same kind of content, but in the first site, links to all the research papers, all the web sites that it has referred to before. Creating that page and the other site has no links, it has just text. So, if you’re reading these two pages, you are more likely to trust the one that has those links to the research papers and that has cited all the sources.
Right same is true. With Google, they may see pages that have links as most trustworthy, more authoritative, you’re, probably using Google antics to measure the traffic on your website. But are you looking at the right? Metrics pageviews are useless because somebody comes and just leaves that’s a loss visit. What you really need to focus is the returning visitor count, the bounce rate and the amount of time that people are spending on your website if they’re, just landing and leaving you got to diagnose, why that’s happening? Maybe they aren’t finding the information in your pages.
Maybe the title is something else, and the actual content is something else. Maybe they don’t like the layout of your site? Maybe the typography is bad. You got to diagnose the reason you should always strive to increase the amount of time that people spend on your web pages and there are a few ways to do that. You can add a related post section to your website so that once people are done reading a article, they can check out the other related articles on your site.
You can also try the approach that QC comment. Encom have taken up where the next article automatically loads. When somebody has finished reading the current article, Google is no longer sharing the search queries with their masters, but you can always analyze your internal search, queries through Google custom search and through Google Analytics to understand what kind of solutions people are seeking on your website.
You can then go a step further in Google custom search. You can use the annotations feature to automatically highlight such pages in search results and readers have limited time. So if you give them the information, they are looking for instantly they’re going to like you even more in all these years, I have tried to harness various publication blogs and I think that has also helped grow. My blog, I have written a book for the Kindle.
Our YouTube blog, I do a podcast on iTunes, which is essentially my youtube articles in downloadable format I curate stuff on Flipboard. I also upload my slides on SlideShare. Now only a few hundred thousand people probably know about my website, but these blogs are known to millions of Internet users. It does helps to have a presence there. You can automate all this with IFT tea and buffer, but always repurpose your content for other blogs.
Everyone can have a blog on the internet, but the thing that differentiates you from other blogs is, of course, your expertise, your writing skills and most important your credibility. The editorial should be completely separate from the business side of the blog, because your readers are 10x, smarter than you think. The blog world operates on the principle of transparency, and that should be a guiding principle as well.
We listen to the same podcasts. Everyone wants to show off their big fancy mansion or their fast, expensive cars. They want you to believe that success is going to come to you. It doesn't work that way. If you want success, you have to go after it. So now, let me walk you through the steps to break free from this cycle of lies that you've experienced. That way, you can take control of your career, your income, and your life.
The first lie about Internet marketing
We see this all the time. You spend a lot of time searching, but you don't stick around long enough actually to make something happen and the reason that you do this. It isn't because you're lazy. It's because they told you it was going to be simple, and you made the mistake of believing them. The danger in that is when success doesn't come easy, as you expect it. Should you give up because you think you've failed, you haven't failed. You just haven't put in enough time, enough effort yet to find success. Honestly, I'm almost sure I would be in that same boat. If I hadn't seen the possible outcome and if I hadn't seen what it takes to get there. He found some little successes early on before he even knew what was going on, but because he found that success and knew what was possible.
He stuck with it, and he put in the years of hard work, and because of that, I knew for myself that it could happen, and I build site after a successful website because I know what it takes to get to success. If you're doing internet marketing the way we do it, here's what it takes, you're going to need to spend about an hour a day for a couple of months, writing about 30 blog posts.
The Second Lie
The second lie that they told you that this would come quickly. They told you you could get organic Google traffic in just four weeks. So what happens after eight weeks? And you haven't earned any money, yet you give up, you think you failed. That's just not true. The most reliable successes are the ones that take the longest because they're the successes that most people aren't willing to wait. If you care the most, if you can be the most patient, you can have the secure progress that lasts for months and years To come, you can have traffic that will last for way longer than you ever expected because you took the time to write, good content and didn't try to shortcut the process.
The Third Lie
The third and potentially most dangerous lie. Are they telling you that you can build a successful business by ripping off your customers? Now they don't blatantly tell you this. They don't blatantly tell you most of these lies, but they do tell you this. Let me share a quote from one of our Project: 24 members who sent this to us just the other day. Here's what he said. I have been an SEO consultant for six years and used to be a web designer.
So a lot of this is second nature. To me – and I can do things quickly, but the difference is with my projects. In the past, I focused on low-value content and massive backlinks. That's now flipped on its head, and I'm enjoying it way more than how I used to work between 2013 and 2017. Things have been working as an SEO consultant since I stopped gathering a high quantity of low rated backlinks. I can't believe I fell for their lies.
The way that most people tell you to do them forget about the content. It doesn't matter how bad it is. As long as you can build enough links, you'll rank on Google; we tell you the exact opposite focus on helping your readers. It doesn't matter if you can get a ranking real, quick. You won't get significant Google traffic to your website for a sustained period. If you don't take the time to help your customers, you will not win Google traffic, and you will not achieve success because you started thinking about yourself first instead of your customers.
You get the traffic over time. You get the monetization, you will be rewarded for this substantially, but first, you have to create value for a customer. Don't cheat the people who are earning you money by giving them garbage, so here's the tip instead of spending time trying to build links. How about you spend a little bit of extra time researching a good article, making an overly helpful post for your readers make a resource that just blows them out of the water, which do you think your customers will value most? You can extract value in any business if, first, you can create value, and link building just doesn't create value.
The Last Lie
Will I create good content? The last lie is you tell yourself someday I'm going to do this. That is the biggest lie of all. If you're not willing to do it today, chances are you're not going to be ready to do it tomorrow or even a year from now, and so that's it. I want you to start soon, and I don't mean figuratively. I mean right now, there's nothing more important for what you could do for your career, for your life, then to get after it. Go for your goals to make things happen, break out of the cycle of lies.
Don't let the lies stop you, don't let anything be the thing that stops you! Break out of this cycle of lies and get after it! Make something happen for yourself, don't believe it when they say it's easy, don't think so It when they say it's fast and don't think so yourself when you tell yourself, I'll, do it later.
Start now by writing 30 useful blog posts. Get yourself up one hour earlier every day for two months, and you'll be on your way to success. You'll have done enough to be able to start reaching your market. However, be patient with yourself. Now the question is: do you have the courage to get started today to make this happen for yourself?
Today, I'm going to share 7 digital marketing. Strategies that I have personally used and gotten results with, And if there's only one thing that you take away From this article, it's to not try all of these at once. Instead pick one of these strategies: experiment, and master the blog before moving on to the next, Let's get to it. So before we dig into these strategies, you need to make sure that you're adopting today's mindset of the consumer.
Today we live in a "content" first world. People are looking for information before they buy, so you need to put yourself in the buyer's shoes, rather than allowing yourself to get blinded by how great you think your products and services are. The mentality you need to adopt is to help people, rather than trying to cold, sell them. When you help people solve problems through free and valuable content that is relevant to your business. You reach larger audiences and build trust. The best part is that you get the opportunity. To show people how your products and services can help them solve their problems and fulfill their desires and needs.
BLOGGING!
Alright, so the first internet marketing strategy is blogging with SEO. Isn't writing about what you did today, or even something nobler like an epiphany, you had. This kind of content can work well if you have an existing and loyal audience. But for most of us, we just want to get more traffic leads and sales. We need to intentionally target problems that your target audience wants to solve In the world of blogging. This whole process can be summed up as a technique called a keyword, "Research". Let me show you two clear-cut examples of how keyword research works.
In the first example? Let's say you sell physical products like computer parts and accessories. What do you think future customers might be searching for in Google. Probably questions like why is my computer so slow. How to build a computer,? How to speed up a computer? These are all very real problems that people are looking for solutions to? Ahrefs' Keywords Explorer, tells us exact search queries get tens of thousands of searches each month. Now the best part about these specific queries, Is that you can help people solve their problems while integrating products from your store? In the content, "Why is my computer so slow?" It could be a hard drive, CPU or ram problem. So you should be blogging about fixing a slow computer. That will help readers diagnose their problems.
Don't forget to offer product solutions within your post "How to build a computer'' would be a super easy plug for any computer components. They're already showing intent to build, so it's unlikely that they've already purchased parts and peripherals.
Alright, here is the second example. Let's say: you're a real estate agent and you're compensated when someone buys sells or rents a property Now the thing that most agents do is boast. About how many homes they've sold or how they won an award that you nor I have never heard of. My point is that the average buyer or seller doesn't care and to prove my point, no one is searching for things like which realtor won the most awards in New York. But again, potential customers are looking For solutions to their problems. Problems like how to invest in real estate. How to buy a house? What credit score is needed to buy a house? And again, these all have the potential to attract a massive audience By ranking in Google for something like "how To invest in real estate?'' Now attracting potential buyers with deep pockets and they likely have intent to buy Content on "How to buy a house?'' would likely require the work of an agent at some point which could be you. "What credit score is needed to buy a house'' Is a great way to show that your knowledge and intentions go beyond making a sale. The best thing about blogging for SEO is that once you rank you'll be getting free, consistent and passive traffic from Google. If you're new to SEO.
Keyword Research
On doing keyword research that grows traffic and revenue, as well as an article on how to write A blog post with SEO in mind, for now, let's move on to the second strategy: Which is to invest in article content specifically on YouTube. YouTube is the second most visited search. The engine in existence To top that off article carousels nearly doubled, In 2017, in Google's search results, Video isn't just the future. It's the present and the same principle of helping potential Customers work for the article too. When people go to article search engines like YouTube, they're, looking to find answers to their questions. For example, if you bought a so-called "new iPhone X" on eBay, you might search for "Phone X, unboxing'' and see if all of the contents. Are in the box And according to Ahrefs' Keywords, Explorer 108,000 searches are happening each month globally on YouTube alone.
For this keyword, this article that you're reading right now was chosen because I can see that people are specifically looking for digital marketing. Tutorials for beginners To come up with topic ideas that people are searching for in your niche head over to Ahrefs' Keyword, Explorer switch the search engine to YouTube and search for a broad keyword in your niche. Let's use "makeup'' as an example.
Now "makeup'' as a standalone keyword, isn't a problem. So, let's go to the questions report where you can see popular questions. People are searching for your topic and right away. You'll see great topic: ideas, Like, "how to clean makeup brushes'' and how to cover acne with makeup. Now when you're, creating these articles, try And keep the fluff out and pack in as much necessary value as possible doing this has helped us grow our YouTube views to over 150,000 views per month and best of all, since all of our articles show how our SEO tools can help it's led to thousands of new paying leads and customers specifically mentioning that they found us through YouTube. Most of our article growth was done through Youtube SEO so I'll leave links to a tutorial to help you rank your articles and get more views. Next up is social media marketing, Rather than covering every social media network.
I want to pass on a couple of important tips that will help you grow your social blogs. The first is to focus on just one social media, Blog when you're, just starting It takes time to build a following, But numbers aren't everything. What you want is a loyal following When you dip your toes into every possible Social media network out there, your attention gets divided and the results get diluted So which social media marketing blog do You choose That leads us into the second tip, which is to go where your target audience is.
And cater to the platform, If you have to choose just one social network, it's not about choosing the one with the Most active users, It's all about understanding the audience. That'S there and if you can serve the reason for them being there, You need to think about why someone Is logging into the specific social media network, For example, people usually go to YouTube. To learn how to do something or to be entertained, But Facebook is different.
Think about it. Have you ever logged onto Facebook, hoping That you would see an unboxing tutorial Or better yet have you ever opened your Facebook App hoping you would find a limited time offer that's 97 % off only for the next 37 minutes? Probably not People don't check Facebook with a credit card in hand. People like and share helpful things. Interesting, shocking or funny, So if you are going to try and bring people Into your world present your message as a story article or something else that will Likely stand out from the endless feed of vacation vanity shots Pinterest, on the other hand, is primarily a Social search engine where people can control what they want to search for The primary intent of users on this platform.
Is to get inspired, learn things and plan to do things So create content that caters to their intent. For being there, So if this is your audience, take advantage, Of a less competitive landscape from both ads and organic perspective, Speaking of ads, that's the next digital marketing. Strategy on the list for today, When it comes to paid advertising, please do not Throw your money blind into an ad network, because you read that it was good.
What works for one person won't necessarily work for the next person Instead think about the ABCs of paid advertising. A is for audience B is for budget and C is for commerciality. We'Ve already covered the audience part. You want to engage on social networks where Your target audience hangs out The Budget is the next one. Bloomberg reported that Google and Facebook Own a combined 58 % of the 111 billion dollar market Now the way ads work are usually based on auctions, The more advertisers there are, the more expensive It gets for you and I So let's say you're in the ultra-competitive Industry of conference calling, If we search for that keyword in Keywords, Explorer with Google set as the search engine you'll see that the cost per click from Google Ads is $ 20.
If you have an ad budget of let's say $ 1,000 per month, then, you'd only be able to get 50 clicks before your budget was depleted. Instead, you can do two things. The first option is to look for keywords that Have a lower cost per click Just go to the Phrase match report to see. All keywords in our keyword database that contain your target keyword Next set a filter to only show keywords that Have a maximum cost per click of something lower like $ 5 From here, you can filter through the list.
And see if there are some more lucrative opportunities rather than spending $ 20 per click, This one for a “ conference call app'', might Be good since it's a quarter of the price Another benefit. Is that the reason behind The searcher's query is more clear. Someone searching for this is looking For an app that does conference calls, whereas someone searching for just “ conference Call'' could be looking for many different things.
The second thing you can do is an experiment. With less popular ad platforms, where your target audience might be, Finally is commerciality. Now all major ad platforms can bring Roi for their advertisers, Otherwise, they wouldn't exist, But you have to find a way to bridge the gap. Between the intent of the platform and how you monetize your products And the solution is going to be content, For example, let's say you sell boutique furniture And think that Pinterest will be a good platform to run some ads.
In my opinion, it wouldn't be a good idea. To advertise a bunch of links to high-end furniture like couches and dining tables, Instead, blog posts could work well. Here, since people log on to Pinterest mainly to get inspired and learn new things, Here's what that bridge might look like Pinterest ads would be the discovery tool You pay them money and they'll show your pin. The bridge would then be a helpful blog post.
On, let's say: “ 11 Interior Design Tips For Your Living Room That Won't Break the Bank.'' And within that content you could showcase your products where it supports the tip you're. Speaking of Nail, the ABCs of paid ads and increase your chances of actually converting your hard-earned dollars into ROI Next up is one of my favorites and that's podcasts. Now there are two ways to look at. Podcasts First are to create your own and the second Is to be interviewed on someone else's podcast, Creating your podcast can be great for Brand and building an audience, But if you're just starting it can take Quite a bit of time to get any sort of traction Getting interviewed on.
Podcasts are a different story. Podcasters are always looking for interesting. People to interview, Even if you don't have a ton of experience, In the online world, your offline experiences and expertise could be a great way to land Yourself a position on a popular podcast. Now, if you don't know which podcasts you Should approach an easy way to find opportunities is to look at your favorite podcasts and find Someone in your industry that has been interviewed Looking at the podcast page for Entrepreneur, On Fire, you'll see this episode with Jim Kwik.
Now, if we click through to the interview You'Ll notice, two things: The first is that the guest's name is in the title. This is very common for the podcast. Interviews. Second, is the link on the page? The host will almost always link to the guest's Home page in the show notes, Knowing this we can use a tool like Ahrefs' Site Explorer to find all podcasts they've been interviewed on So I'll enter in jAlso Set the search mode to a URL search, so we can find pages that are linking specifically To the homepage, Once the overview page loads go to the backlinks Report which will show you all of the pages that are linking to this URL. Finally, let's use the Include search and Type in Jim Kwik And to keep our results super relevant. I'm Going to set the filter to search for his name only in the titles of the referring pages, And we now have around 120 podcasts.
We can Pitch to get interviewed So filter through relevant podcasts and pitch The host as to why they should interview you and the value you can give to their audience Next on the list is email marketing. If you've ever looked into email marketing, then you've probably heard people claiming That “ email is king.'', But I promise you that once you get into it, You'Ll quickly discovers that it's not as turnkey as online gurus make it sound And don't get me wrong.
Email marketing is great, But first you need the traffic to get email subscribers. It also requires opt-in forms to turn a visitor Into a subscriber, In my opinion, email is a great long play. To build a connection with your audience and even sell high ticket items, So my tip for you on email marketing is quite simple. First focus on building your email list from day one It's important and you might as well collect Emails from interested people from the start, even if it's not a substantial list, But be realistic with your goals and as you build Your audience put more time into your email list and see how it can serve your business.
The final strategy is to use forums and Community boards, Community forums like Quora Reddit and Facebook Are great promotion blogs But before you go off and start posting links, To your product pages, there are a few things you need to understand, And these are all based around the unspoken Rules of spam First, don't promote your products or services. Pages within these groups, users on these platforms intend to learn Not to be sold to directly Instead think of these networks as a place, To share your expertise, build relationships and help others Second use links to your content sparingly.
If you're constantly posting links to your Blog and have justified in your head that this is non-promotional, then you're most Likely wrong Links can be more appropriate based on the network you're posting on, For example, Quora generally, has longer answers and linking to your content, where it supports your point is a good idea. Facebook groups, on the other hand, are a different Story, Let's say: you're a real estate agent and you Join a “ first time, homebuyers'' group on Facebook.
If someone asks a question like “ I'm looking to buy my first home and was wondering if I can even get a mortgage?'' Now, if every agent on that group posts links to their website, can you see how spammy that could get? Instead, it would make sense to post a link. To someone else's affordability, calculators or offer introductions to blenders, The point is that helping first will go a Lot farther than self-promotional content that can taint your reputation Now.
I'd love to hear from you, Which digital marketing strategy do you think Is most effective in online marketing?
