HOW TO BRAND YOURSELF AS AN INFLUENCER – MAKE MONEY WITH YOUR PERSONAL BRAND

Alright, guys Jesse, unlocked here, welcome to another article, and today we’re going to be going into a massive overview on. How do you become an influencer like what does it take to become an influencer and contrary to popular belief? I know that a lot of people think that you know I thought it that you have to have this massive following, like Tai Lopez like Gary Vee like they are influencers, but there are really really big influencers right.

Just like there can be a band. That is, let’s local, it’s indie right and then there’s major pop sensations, like you know, ariana grande Demi, Lovato, all those people right there. Just there they’re influencers, you know they’re they’re known they have a group of people that follow them, but they vary in size. So you’re going to have a similar experience as you become an influencer and as you find what it is that you’re passionate about what it is that you want to talk about.

What’s your message, what are you trying to share because that all factors into becoming an influencer? So, let’s get into the first thing now. The first thing is really building a following. You know – and this is where knowing yourself and knowing what you’re passionate about really comes in handy, because you’re going to want to know who it is that you want to talk to what’s your message. What are you trying to share? Because, as you realize this you’re going to know that you’re not trying to attract everybody, you’re not trying to like bring in the bringing the world to your doorstep, you’re trying to bring the people that care you’re trying to bring the people that actually, you know, resonate With your message, because, if you you know, if you talk about music, if you play guitar and you make music and you want to show other people how to play guitar and why playing guitar is awesome, you know and the the the variations of ways to play.

Guitar you’re not going to want you first not going to want someone that, like loves the drums, because they’re going to be like nah man drums are way better than guitar and then you’re just going to have somebody fighting with you the whole time. Instead, you want to find other people who are passionate about that thing. They’re passionate about playing the guitar. They want to learn how to play the guitar.

These are the people that you want to bring in your circle and be like hey c’mere. I have some cool stuff to share with you and they’re going to resonate because you’re speaking directly to them, so that’s going to be. The first thing is just to realize that, like it’s, it’s really more of a giving thing. It’s not so much about you! It’s about them and you’re, looking to figure out like how to really craft this building this hub this spot.

For that audience to come to you, so you can kind of bring them in and be like hey. This is a safe spot. Come hang out meet other people who are into this too I’m going to share some cool stuff with you help you accelerate your journey and your it’s going to be a great time right. So that’s going to be the first point, so you’re going to be looking to build a tribe that is into the same stuff that you’re into and we’ll get into it in other articles as to how you can really narrow this down.

But that’s part one. That’s the main focus there now main. I guess part number two is after you really decide who you’re talking to and who your audience is and what that looks like for you you’re going to need to craft some content around what it is that these people need help with, and it’s again this has To come from a very giving place, it can’t come from this ego place because I know when I got started, it was kind of like well.

What do I want to learn? What do I want to share like? What do I feel comfortable sharing and talking about right – and maybe you have this experience too, however, when you’re, when you’re becoming an influencer and you’re you’re, really stepping into this role of more an educator and you’re? Looking to this like okay, this is my tribe. You know when you become an influencer you’re, not to sound intimidating, but you’re, really you’re.

Stepping up you know you’re stepping up and as an influencer you’re coming forward and you’re saying know what I feel like there’s a place that isn’t being done. How I want to do it, you know, I don’t feel like this audience is being served. The way I think they’re being served and that’s why you’re coming up and that’s why you want to be an influencer right. Is it so you can you can help people see the things that you see and understand and maybe find their own passion in what you’re teaching, like that’s the beauty of being an influencer, so in order to really reach out to them and grab them and grab Their attention and serve them, you got to put out content, that’s relevant to what they’re trying to learn and what they want to do and what their goals and dreams are, and the area that you’ll find is the easiest way to create.

Content is looking at what are their challenges? You know what, when you go on, like let’s say forums and we’ll go into more detail, if you guys are having trouble with this part, but you’re going to want to go into like Facebook groups, forums reddit’s like sub reddits YouTube blogs, you’re going to want to See what people are talking about and, more importantly, not other influences, but look to what the people in the comments say, and the people in the forums and people in the groups cuz.

It’s not the ones that are sharing successes, it’s the ones that are asking questions. It’s the people that are in those groups and they’re like how the heck do you do this? How the heck do you do this? How do you do this? How do you do this? I have a problem with this like if you go in there, you’re going to find a ton of people with some unique problems and some problems that you’re going to hear again and again and again – and these are the questions – these are the things these are – the People that you’re going to want to talk to you’re going to want to create content that helps and solves their problems.

So this is really going to help you build that audience that you’re trying to by creating content that’s very relevant to them. So we’re going to go straight into the third thing now. The third thing is: really: you know you have your tribe that you’re building you have the content that you’re putting out and the third thing is going to be engagement and the way that we were going to do this is is multiple ways, but first we’re going To keep it real, real, simple anything you put out that gets some form of likes comments or shares engage with those people.

You know whether it’s just a response and they go hey cool image cool. You know you know PDF whatever it is that you create, like. Oh cool post, whatever they say if they even just like put an emoji face, you put an emoji face whatever the response is just respond to it, because people want to feel understood, people want to feel like you care people want to feel like they belong. If that makes sense – and it’s it’s, it’s really something when and maybe maybe you’ve experienced this too.

It’s really something when you know people respond back to you, you know you you leave a. It does take a bit to write a comment. It takes a little bit of energy, a little mental capacity to stop what you’re doing you know, pull up the keyboard if it’s on your phone and just type something out like it does take energy. But when someone recognizes it and they go, and you say something like oh cool photo and then go hey thanks for checking it out.

You’re, you look at it and you go. Oh that’s! That’s kind of cool. You know not a lot of people do it. So you want to be that person that actually connects with the other viewer or with the other, the the person in your tribe. Essentially that checks out your thing. You know and joins your group and and checks out what you have to say and they leave a comment and you go all thanks for checking it out.

It does something it really kind of creates this. Like this, this gratitude, I don’t know it’s it’s hard to explain, but people want to feel understood. People want to be, you know, noticed, and I’m sure you guys have noticed that, maybe even in school, like you, you know you didn’t really get along with a lot of people. Maybe you felt isolated and what was it like when somebody you know just reached out to you and was like, like hey, you know, cool shoes or hey man, cool shirt like it’s just it’s this feeling of positivity and giving when you can actually like you know, Connect with that person on the other side, because not enough people do it and you will stand out so quickly when you are that person who does it as much as you can you know, obviously, as you grow the following and there’s more people commenting it’s you Know it’s a little harder to keep up with, but do your best like you see a leg, and you see somebody comment on your thing, be like hey thanks man thanks for checking it out, you know really appreciate it.

They’re, just they throw an emoji, you throw an emoji, but just respond to it. You know it makes the other person feel real good, so respond to comments. You know if you’re on Instagram be sure to like a bunch of people’s content and that’ll kind of help engage your audience. You know and they’ll notice that you actually take the time to like their stuff. You know so, if you’re liking some of your followers stuff.

That’s really helpful if you leave comments, that’s at a bonus point right there, but really focus on your hub, because otherwise this stuff gets really overwhelming. So when you post something and people leave comments, comment back, you know like their comments, whatever it is just really maximize that output, so do the same for YouTube articles, if you’re already making YouTube articles we’ll do that in another article, no, no worries there and Facebook.

If you leave a post on Facebook and people, you know respond to it, they share it just make sure to reach out to them and either PM them a private message or on the on the comment thread, just leave them a comment be like hey, thanks for Checking it out, man really appreciate it cool. So just a quick recap: let’s bring it all back to one you’re building a tribe and this tribe is like-minded people who have a similar goal or they want to improve in the thing that you’re teaching so that step number one is building a tribe step. Number two is putting out the content like what problems is that audience having, and can you help them? What can you put out there? That’s going to be a valuable resource for your audience step.

Three is engagement and you’re going to want to talk to your audience. You’re going to want to respond to your audience and you just want to show them that you care. So that’s the recap. Alright guys welcome to the ask a Jada show today we’re going to get your done every single Saturday guys actually signed up. So I’m about to call you in answer all your questions. This is Jade you’re on the ask J, OH kind of wanted to be a fashion, blogger and assertive blog. So when you say it didn’t go anywhere, your blog didn’t go anywhere, meaning that no one really read it or what’s what’s in your eyes, meaning like doesn’t go anywhere. So it’s more that sounds to me like you like. Do you like blogging, though? Well? Do you want this blogging thing to be career, wise? What you want, or just for fun, career line? Okay, so you really do need.

If you want to career-wise, you need a website, you need a domain, you need. You want to get brands in your circles. I just kind of do so. I find no something’s trending something’s, like a fashion trend, for your case is pop in, and everything is going to go away in a few weeks. You better hop on that soon, so being consistent is knowing what’s up knowing the trends right now and implementing the day of instead of waiting a week later to get your photographer and if you don’t have a photographer, you self-timer and it works just as fine.

Oh yeah, I actually use this thing called also, if you want, I can text it to you, it’s it’s like a color matching, so it gives you like all the shades of your theme and you plug it in and if your photo doesn’t match it, then it’s Not a good idea to post it. I think I think a feed is your least of your concerns, but it definitely makes a huge difference. Think about the captions. You should make your captions paragraph hey.

What’s the problem, Louise right, okay, Louise captions are the only way for york consumer to take in your content. A picture doesn’t nothing for them. A picture does no, but what happens is if you’re a pretty person with a great influence? Oh you have people that love you, okay, so I took captions.

Do you matter it’s like more of a matter like? Are you really using it to the full potential because the longer people stay in reading your captions, the more they will boost your profile, so you get more followers. Do you understand that? So I would write paragraphs. Do you? Are you passionate about a certain topic like? Do you want to help young kids find their confidence like? What’s her audience, I hear I hear what you’re saying you want to be more of a b2b space.

You want to get brands right, so the thing is being a business is not being corporate being a business is helping people and making money out of it. You still need to help people. Man, like you, still need to put out some value, like you so I’d say, maybe maybe rhe message. What I’m saying is. Maybe you don’t have to inspire people but become helpful? So if a brand looks at your profile, raise your captions O’shea, he’s an expert, I’m influencer, all right guys who provides we’re going to answer all the questions.

Now I made a mistake – and I did this from 9 to 12 – we’re just three hours of people calling me in so I rather condense it make sure you guys are straight to the point and we’re just going to call everyone right now. Your honor asked Jay to show my biggest question is if you have an Instagram following that is growing other people and you’re posting daily, and it’s what’s the first thing we do to make this happen to make you glow dancer. Let’s clarify your Instagram. The only growing right now, because your unfollowing and following yes, I’m engaged with the community – means people right now, don’t care, so you need to make people care.

Who is your target audience and I see you’re vegan right so who is your ideal audience holy? That’s so smart, it’s not! A lot of people know their audience. That is good. They spoke about Instagram and you can actually target people just by putting like, for example, you place an ad saying swipe up to you know to learn more about veganism and you just target people that are exactly what you just said or or if you want the Free version, you DM all those people, like you literally DM, like hey, I have a little free little thing I made you or like.

If you want to take a look, I love it. If you can check it out, 97 % of people won’t give a about 3 % will and that’s. 3 percent will help you keep going. Ok, hey! This is Jade from YouTube and you’re on the ask. A jade show back up. What’s your what’s your business? What’s wrong, I love it. So how is your Instagram or falling so far, just for the sole reason to be? Let me let me clarify, I know what you’re talking about so many people are trying to be a personal brand just to be a personal brand.

They don’t give a about their audience. I can tell right now you probably are passionate about health fitness in this topic and you actually genuinely want to help people correct, yeah. Okay, the way you do that, let’s be very specific: how about age, demographic, maybe gender? It doesn’t matter like you know, like maybe ethnicity, maybe like income like are they? Are they high income like? What is your ideal client? What you can do is literally make a Facebook ad I’ll try to do a training series, but you can look it up like you can basically make an ad targeting those exact people give them some value.

Maybe you actually care about them and you want to give them like a little free coaching session 101, so ninety seven of them will be like screw. You no way I’m not going to get your free training course, but three percent well now three percent will help you because they will give your reviews. They will help you with testimonies and those reviews. You can use it as an ad, so you can get more people into your app or your website, alright guys.

Using Social Media to Build Your Personal Brand

Oh my gosh ( laughing ) Isaac Irvine is one of our basically personal Brand gurus at work And we’re going to check out some of the things that he’s doing and how you all can use. It in the real world Ready to get started. Absolutely: let’s do it. Your personal brand is Really just your reputation or what people think about you And we’re going to use Isaac Irvine to kind of demonstrate some of these qualities.

So when we figure out what That personal brand is the most important thing. Is trying to figure out what you wan na be known for What sets you, apart from everyone else, So looking at Isaac’s profile? What do you think he’s all about? What is he trying to? What is he setting himself apart for Okay cool yeah, So I was just glancing at this. I get the very like he’s, deep rooted in being husband and dad 80’s.

Kid also Really proud of his Position over at GoDaddy – And he loves talking about Internal communications And I see a lot of positivity in the posting too – the voice, It’s very uplifting Right. He really talks about his Family is what’s the backbone of all. He does So a lot of the articles he does and things he talks. About is about his family and him being a dad and helping them out and really setting himself apart that way, So, at the end of the day, that’s what he wants to be known for just a rad dad, that’s tattooed up that likes Star Wars and Likes to be with his kids – And I got that impression – When I met him in person too Yeah, So this really lines up the personal brand online lines up offline.

Is that a really big Important thing you think: when it comes to businesses and-, You have to be consistent right, Personal brands. Yeah You got, ta really show the real you. So it’s super important To be consistent with it, So what’s the biggest Part of social media. What do you think the Biggest driving factor is: why do we have social media? Well, one of my favorite things and I think, while it Has existed to this day is that offers us a two way street a two way dialogue Right, So you can give sure Information about your brand, how you wan na, run your business.

What makes you you, But you can also have a conversation, then with your target audience. Yes, absolutely So you build that rapport even before they come into your business, while they’re at your business after they’ve left. Your business, And that to me is what makes Social media so exciting, Yes, Really embrace the social Right. Social media is about being social Like we have to have conversations What I see a lot of people do really with building their personal brand.

They try to make it all. About me me me me me, Oh my gosh tell me about it. They don’t actually just talk to people and say: hey, that’s really cool. I like that shirt or hey. I had ice cream there and start that conversation. If you could look at Isaac, Irvine’s Twitter here you can kind of see all the Things that he’s retweeting and commenting on and liking And really just having that Conversation being engaged, It’s crucial And a common misconception.

About a personal brand, is it’s not all about him? It’s not all about that person. It’s about how he helps the community and those that he’s trying to serve, And you can see that with What he’s retweeting too, on Twitter? It’s also things that are relevant to his personal brand, but it’s not him just pushing This content out there as original content – It’s like hey. I read this super great article that is Relevant to what I’m about, but it’s by this guy named Bob, So that also builds Potential relationships with other people in the industry, which is just a domino effect for potential success.

I love that And it’s really awesome too To build those relationships, because there are people that will help you build that community and that you can compliment This. Also works really. Well, in your personal lives or dating lives Like make it a conversation, If you just sit down for dinner, and you just talk about Yourselves, all the time, you’re not getting that second date, All right, I’m getting Dating advice, I love it So with social media and personal brand like yes, you wan na have Those conversations You also wan na create your own content or just let people into your life, And I love Instagram.

For that reason, Instagram stories is fantastic to just go quick little 10. Second, article of cool: this is my day. Or here’s what I’m doing and help people really relate to you and just open up I’m a huge fan of Instagram stories. It’s all about the gram. I love it Cool, so you have This great understanding of using social media For your personal brand And the next step is Really to just experiment Figure out what you can do and kind of go beyond just Staying in your comfort zone, It’s really easy to just be a thing and just post random.

Pictures of yourself all day But like if you check out Isaac’s Instagram here Yeah, I just pulled that up He’s got a lot of random stuff, There’s a ton of variety. So really what catches your eye! When you look at his profile Well, I instantly wanted To have a good chuckle’cause, I’m seeing him In a Santa Claus, outfit – And I wan na click on this, just because what could that caption possibly be And Santa Claus in April? All right, Oh well, when you Forget your hoodie at home and grab a jacket.

You have lying around to warm up and it fits perfectly. He really is living his best life and showing people how He’s living that best life. Definitely I see that And you’re right about experimentation when it comes to your personal Brand on social media, it’s not like one size fits all. Here’s your guidebook just follow that you’ll do great. No, you have to do trial and error Check the analytics and Metrics and see what works And what works for Isaac may not work for you or whoever else.

With a personal brand, You got ta experiment with Article with captions, with images with storytelling with Instagram Stories, go on and have conversations on Twitter, maybe check out LinkedIn. Whatever is relevant to your brand. Try it out At the end of the day, You’ll figure out it works, awesome, keep going and if it doesn’t scratch that off to not do in the future Yeah exactly.’Cause his audience is unique to him.
