I don’t know what to say. Okay, so in this article we’re going to be doing a trade recap, nothing too crazy for you guys here. I got everything drawn out already to try and make this as quick as possible. It was a one thousand seven hundred and fifty dollar profit, but it shows one thousand one hundred and twenty here because of the fact that I got into the trade yesterday I held the trade overnight, meaning you know I got in it yesterday I held it today.
That’S what it means, but I had a profit on it yesterday when the market closed, that profit does not transfer over to the P L day, because PL day means that the profit loss of the day. So today I made 1120 but technically I was in the trade this trade made 1750. I just wanted to explain that idea. So nobody goes out and panics and you starts thinking. Oh my God he’s lying. You know the world okay.
So before I get into breaking down the numbers and everything I’m going to very briefly touch base on why I got into the trade, because these are just trade recaps, guys, meaning I’m just trying to recap a trade hey. This was my trade. This is what I did you get what I mean, but, and I try to make them quick articles when I make them quick articles. People start nagging and complain like. Oh my god, I didn’t teach me anything like alright.
Guy go to go learn from where I have designed. I designed a course to teach you for specific reason: I’m not going to make a 15 hour article here just to teach you in one article. So that’s that obviously, then, when I do try and teach you guys some things in the articles and I try and give some old things here and things there little hints and all that and try to teach you guys there. Then people start now.
Oh my god. He’S rambling too much. You talk too much just get to the point you got in here. You got out there, so it’s like I’m trying to make everybody happy here in a world that we know we cannot make everybody happy. So that being said, why did I get into the trade number one? It was one of my like morning, momentum, slash day trading strategies that I specifically teach the way that I teach my course and I’m not saying this to advertise my course I’m just trying to explain to you guys why this is the way it is the way I teach my course it’s like I’m teaching you how to fight.
I say hey. If your opponent swings at your face there you go now. You know how to duck. Then I say, oh when your opponent leaves his face open like this and his arms are out to the side, go swing from the uppercut. That’S that that’s the I teach them how the market works right. I said when his hands are down: go right across them with the right hook. Those are we teaching you how the market works right.
The course teaches you how the market works. Then it also gives you strategies, meaning it teaches you how to do all this stuff. On your own, but it also gives you very specific parameters and strategies that are like combos. If you will it’s almost like saying, okay well, when he swings at you you’re going to dunk, but then you’re also going to come up with the uppercut and then he’s going to go, grab his face and you’re going to come with the right hook.
That’S the strategies, so this was one of the strategies. Obviously I’m not going to explain the whole entire strategy here, because then I have to explain the whole course. So hopefully you guys can bear with me and not complain this time as to why I’m not giving the whole entire detail here, but long story short, it’s one of the strategies that I teach in the course. If you took the course you know what happened here.
You boom bada bing bada boom. Hey, you know, that’s number one. It was one of my specific morning. Momentum strategies, number two. Then you go out a little more. We are right at this key level of 200 here. Not only is it like a key like resistance level and it’s also a key level in general, but it’s also a psychological level. So all these things multiple different flashlights here, guys, that’s what I say when a robber a thief wants to go and break into your house in the middle of the night, while you’re out of town and rob your house if he only takes his cell phone flashlight.
What’S he going to find nothing really you’re going to find your huge TV on the wall, but let’s say he puts a headlamp on your head or on his head. We can put one on your head too. I guess um then he’s you know. Yeah he’ll find the TVs on the wall, then maybe he might find your laptops your computers. Now let’s say he takes a huge handheld floodlight with the phone light and the headlamp now he’s going to find you’re safe, the more flashlights you have, the more chances of success you have in a trade.
This is just multiple flashlights, so it was also one of my day trading strategies. It was also a very key level. All that tied into one is why I got into the trade, so my main idea was: I was trying to get into it around the 200 level. You know we gapped up and kind of pushed right to, but then we dropped real quickly. I missed it. A little push right there and it just dropped too quickly. I missed it and I’m not going to chase the trade at the one 9750, I’m not going to get in that low.
I figured all right at that point might as well just let it go, but thankfully it popped up again and gave us another reentry. I didn’t know because I’m not God, I can’t predict the future. I didn’t know it was going to go all the way up here again, my entry level, my entry target where I wanted to get in that was around the 200. I thought I missed it, so I got into the pop at 199 and that’s that guy’s now I explained it.
Nobody can nag that. I didn’t say anything in this article about why I got into the trade and that’s where I got into the trade now so now, let’s go break down the numbers, so we’re trading options. Here I want to put this out there, for the people that are new options are just we’re still trading stocks pretty much, but options allow us to do a lot more with a lot less there’s two types of option: there’s calls and puts puts means you make Money when the stock goes down puts is what we did this time.
So as the value of the stock decreases, the value of the puts go up. I’M just mentioning that, because there were some people that commented on my last article like dude, how did you make money if the value of the stock was going down? I don’t get it guys. I mentioned this before and then when I mentioned this anyways okay, so I got into the trade 6:35. Yesterday I had puts I had 14 of them. It shows 3.
60. The way options works. What is equivalent to a hundred, so it’s not 3.60 into 360. I had 14 of them, so we’re going to multiply 14 times 360. That gives you five thousand and forty, so the whole cost of the trade was five thousand and forty. That does not mean that we’re risking five thousand and forty. If we were wrong on the trade, that does not mean I was going to lose five thousand and forty I like to use a used car example.
I always say: hey you buy a used car for five thousand dollars. Thinking you can sell it for six thousand dollars. You find out. Something was wrong with the car you found out. You bought the wrong model, whatever it is, you’re not going to just throw the car away you’re, not just going to leave it on the side of the road forever and give it to someone else. You’Re just going to go, send it to the junkyard, go sell.
It take a small loss, that’s the same idea here. So when I say we, the trade cost 5,000. I’M just saying that to let you know that that was the initial investment. That was what was required to place the trade, not what we’re risking here. So I try to put that idea out there to show you guys like wow. This guy is trading a one hundred and ninety five dollar stock, but he only put five thousand dollars in and he somehow made 1,750.
That’S why I emphasize these ideas, it’s mainly for the new people out there as well. I have a lot of people, new people that read my articles, so that’s that so cost of the trade 5040. Then I held it overnight and at 6:34 this morning I sold a portion of the trade about a third of the trade. If you will, I sold four of the contracts at 470, then about 25 minutes later I sold another four of the contracts at 5:30 because of the fact that I did four and four, it’s an even number they’re balanced – and this is a very even number 470 And 534: seventy is point thirty away from five.
Five. Thirty is point thirty away from five, so we can basically average them out and that’ll give us five. So we technically sold eight of them at five hundred each then the final six that I was holding, I sold about an hour and a half later at eight thirty, eight, four, four sixty five. So let’s do the calculation there real, quick! These two right here, equal five, eight of them at five hundred each, so you do eight times five hundred.
That gives you four thousand dollars. If you want to break it up, if it’s easier for you like that, you can do four times. Four hundred and seventy, which is one thousand eight hundred and eighty, then you can do four times five hundred and thirty, which is two thousand one hundred and twenty you add them together. That’S four thousand anyways, so these two were for four thousand that we sold and then we sold the last of them for four hundred and sixty five times six, which is two thousand seven hundred and ninety.
So we’re going to add that 2790 to the four thousand from here that gives us a total of six thousand seven hundred and ninety, so we sold the total for six thousand seven hundred. So, back to the used car example, you bought the used car for five thousand. You sold it for sentence for six thousand seven hundred in the next day. That’S basically the idea here, so we sold it for six thousand. Seven hundred and ninety we’re going to subtract the cost of it to get the profit, so the cost was five thousand and forty so subtract, five thousand and forty from the six thousand seven hundred and ninety.
And that’s where you get one thousand seven hundred and fifty that was the total profit 1750 on Baba here, although it shows one thousand one hundred and twenty it’s because we had like a six hundred dollar profit yesterday, when the market closed, as I held it overnight And believe it or not it even gapped up man if we open down here at this one. Ninety, oh, my goodness, if we gapped down to one ninety, that would have been like man like a six to seven thousand dollar profit, at least I’m not even exaggerating guaranteed, it would have been more than five thousand, and that’s what I mean when I say you Know what stick to your trades? Don’T go too big on your side.
Don’T go tray chasing these huge profits, stay within your relative plan and your trade and all that and eventually, every now and then you’ll hit these big profits. You know, of course it wasn’t. One of that those scenarios here, but it could have been by hey whatever we don’t worry about that. Let me break it down for you guys on the chart here and then we’ll wrap it up from there. So I got in here, as I mentioned, I was reading it around that 200 area.
I got in like we’re what 199 maybe 199 twenty five ish as the value of the stock went down. The value of my put option increased, so I was able to sell it for more. This is where I initially got out of for right here. So we gapped up and even went a little higher right back to the 199, but I didn’t panic out. You know I stuck to my plan and then it dropped down to this 196 and I said alright, let me lock some in just to be safe.
Then it bounced up came back down now closer to the 195 50 area and that’s where I sold out the additional four. So those are these two orders here and now I’m holding six playing with profit to see if we can break the 195 and get potentially 194. That’S where I wanted to lock it all in it and at the same time I had lower to my stop. So I basically said: okay, if we go above the 196 50 now I’ll get out, it would have still been a profit, obviously not as much of a profit, but you know that would that would have been my way of locking in and protecting gains to make Sure that no matter what happens that this trade would have ended up profitable and it actually did hit the 196 50.
Let me let me go over that real quickly right here. It barely pierced through it and it actually hit my alert though I had trade. I don’t sit here this whole time through. Like all this, I just kind of let those sit, and I I play it. I put alerts, alerts basically say hey if the stock gets to or above or to or below this level. Let me know and notifies my phone said thing they, maybe I can go in and close the trade out.
It did that right here by the time I pulled my phone out, we were back down here. I said: okay, well, you know what we’re technically, not above my level. Let me still hold it then, and then after some time I check back in on it and my ri dude we keep hitting that area. We keep testing that area. I look back on spy and I’m like, oh my god, dude this guy’s flying and I don’t want to deal with it at that point I said: oh, I just cut it before it hits my stop-loss.
It technically did hit it back here, anyways. So that’s where I cut the rest of it out right here and of course my luck had decided to drop down more. So if I was still holding it, it would have been at least like a 2200, maybe 2500 all the profit. But who cares? We? Don’T worry about that guys we locked in our 1750 dollar profit. I made a little bit of a mess out of the trade, but it was still profitable and that’s the main reason why I wanted to do a article on this particular trade.
It’S cuz. I did kind of make a little bit of a mess on it, but at the end of the day we still made money and that’s really all that matters, as I like to say. As long as the outcome has income – and that’s pretty much that guys – I have a feeling that I’m going to start rambling at this point. If I say any more, so we’re going to wrap it up. That are, I guess, it’s probably predominantly women that are very, very proud of their decision to be childless and never ever have children there’s nothing wrong with that. Of course, it’s everybody’s choice individually, whether or not they want to have kids or start a family, and of course you know, there’s that familial pressure, that’s pretty standard in our society, that societal pressure, I think, on women’s and Families or women’s in relationships or marriages.
It’S like, oh, what are you going to have kids every family reunion you go to every time. You see your on their uncle. It’S like! Why are you having kids when you having kids, I mean, I guess, if you really don’t want kids, that can get a little obnoxious, but this kind of community. I was browsing through this reddit. It takes it a step further and goes beyond just you know, being proud of being child free and and kind of just people that hate kids and people with kids in general.
It seems anyways Jax thought it would be a idea to just read through a couple of these and have a little bit of a laugh, because that’s what we like to do here on the Leon west blog in between bites of parsnip and Bart porridge. It’S as if these women are just machines exclusively meant to produce babies, they also seem to age. In an accelerated pace, 30 or 32 is very advanced age and have a first baby. You should start in the early 20s and have had your fifth baby by 31.
How limited their lives must be? In my world, 35 is still young and vibrant with many years ahead. In there, world xxx is already over the hill. It’S so depressing. The hubris in the self-righteousness is almost palpable through my computer screen, I’m just picturing what this woman looks like sitting there at her computer typing this up, I’m in a singles group. Invariably one of us asked if there were other child-free around immediately.
There were a number of women who said yes, but then started talking about their kids, who are nearly grown, several of whom expressed interest in finding guys who didn’t have kids to spend time with. This is a reoccurring theme and if I get pissed about anything fast, its parents trying to claim their child free and invade the space we’re trying to carve out for ourselves, you see it here, too, look parents, you are never going to be child free once you’ve Chosen to have kids in any way, shape or form.
You are not one of us, we don’t want to date, you and we are sick and tired of you clicking the don’t have boxes on dating apps. When your kids are off at college. You do have kids, you will likely have grandkids and we don’t want any part of it. You are not living the child-free lifestyle that ship has sailed and you weren’t on it. When we asked who doesn’t have kids keep your damned virtual hands down because you do not qualify ugh dude, that is a 10 out of 10 rant.
I would give that a Golden Globe if it was within my power. Are you kidding? Imagine with all of the grievances life has to offer us you take the most offense at someone checking the wrong box on a dating app. I tell you honestly, I’m surprised you’re, even on a dating app with an attitude like this, I figured you would have been scooped up a long time ago. Some girl on Facebook just posted up that women at the end of their third trimester, should be allowed to park in disabled spots in an elephant emoji because that’ll make it cute honey.
Did you not choose this? How do you equate your life choices with the misfortune of the disabled? No, your emoji does not make me think it’s endearing you’re an idiot and that your procreating, it all just makes it worse. There are just some really pissed-off people in the sunbather man. I don’t know about using handicap spots and all that noise, but I will say, interestingly, when my wife is pregnant, we went to a Barnes & Noble and there were spots with signs specifically reserved for expecting women, so those spots do exist.
I don’t see him everywhere, but some places do have them. There’S already expected mother parking like really now. I guess other people know about those spots as well. On second thought, I don’t really agree with the tone of the opie, but if, if every woman in the third trimester was allowed to park in handicapped spots should be no handicap spots, cuz there’s like millions of women pregnant at any given time.
So I’m CF, I’m not a child dating person. I just don’t want kids for a bunch of reasons from my history from my husband’s history, the cost, the effort and responsibility etc. So that goes on for about 30 more paragraphs, so I won’t read it, but I just wanted to include it because there are quite a few people on this form just to play the other side here that are just reasonable people that are child free and don’t Want kids, but are feeling the societal pressure to have kids specifically from family and relatives and friends, etc, etc.
But this loud vocal minority of people in this reddit that are here simply to hate anybody that breeds or has kids or kids in general is kind. But I thought what could be potentially interesting is talking about the five worst supercars or luxury cars you could buy right now. Now I do want to say that in general, basically, any car right now is a van idea.
The market is kind of so all over. The place that I don’t think buying a car in general right now is a bad idea, but if you were to buy a car, these five would probably be the worst now. Basically, what we’re going to be talking about here is depreciations cars that you could buy. That would basically just be a bad Buy and why they would be a bad buy. Depreciation, obviously, is the difference between.
When you buy the car the value it loses as soon as you put a few miles on it. One of the kings of this is the first car we’re going to be talking about right now. He Bentley Mulsanne speed kind of arrival to the rolls-royce phantom, its Bentley’s biggest most luxurious car, slightly pumped up version or the base Mulsanne, and it comes in we’re going to be talking euros, your European prices, because that’s what most of them are for sale.
It comes in list price at three hundred and seventy four thousand euros, which is a lot of money now, once you actually spec these, they run more like four hundred and twenty thousand euros, because the spec goes very, very fast loads of expensive options on these to The average price – let’s say around four hundred and twenty thousand euros so much money. Now these things tend to depreciate like a rock, which is why we’re speaking about it here, not many people a can afford them.
If they can, it seems that most people kind of tend to go for the rolls-royce phantom, which is a great car, there’s, actually nothing wrong with the Bentley Mulsanne speed. I’Ve never driven one myself, but I’ve been inside one. I think they look cool and I’m sure they’re super comfortable fantastic. I know they drink quite a bit of fuel over all. There’S nothing wrong with it. It’S just the supply is not particularly limited, but there isn’t a huge demand for these cars and seeing as they depreciate so much you can pick them up relatively speaking, comparing to the list price fairly cheap.
None of these cars – you can ever pick up for cheap. Realistically, but that means that why would you go buy a brand new one where you can pick one up for half the price? Only a few months later, an example I went on a website and found a car for sale for a hundred and fifty eight thousand eight hundred euros. This car had just under ten thousand miles, so fourteen thousand kilometers, which is mind-blowing, I mean obviously, that still ton of money for a luxury car of this type, obviously, but that we calculated brings you to 16 euros per kilometer.
I mean what that means, for example, for me to drive to the airport, would cost me in depreciation by kilometres alone, over 200 euros every time I go to the airport and then another 200 to come back 400 euros just to do the airport run because of The amount of depreciation per kilometer, it’s mind, blowing and let alone a car. That’S got 60,000 kilometers 70,000 kilometers on the clock. Cause people often drive these quite a bit.
So the fact that you can find quite a few for sales secondhand, because when they came out, people were buying them more than today, yet they still kept they’re kind of ludicrous list. Price means that these are the first in our list in terms of cars. To probably avoid especially right now, second on the list is the new BMW, m8 grand coupe, a a 617 horsepower four-door version of the kind of latest greatest from BMW, their top of the range luxury car four doors back seats, 617 horsepower from a v8 engine.
These things are really really cool. I think they look great they’ll perform fantastically and there is nothing again particularly wrong with the car mechanically they’re popular. They come from a German brand. You know they’re not going to break down, but yes again, there is no limit in terms of the supply of them, and people are buying them up quite a bit, which means that you’re going to be getting more and more good deals on them.
These start at 170 thousand euros around about there. Obviously once you’ve put a spec on them. If you’ve got a heavily Spectre, when you can be running around two hundred thousand euros personally, I don’t really see them holding above to be a hundred thousand euro mark for much longer than twelve months. I think they’ll be kind of coming down around a hundred thousand euros in that time, especially the ones of heavy mileage that makes them a pretty risky car to buy, because at that price range you’re going to be losing about fifty percent of the car within 12 Months, probably one to avoid think the coupe A’s would hold better, but the grand coupe age is from the fact that there’s less demand for them, people aren’t as interested in having them, but they’re still running a similar list price.
It just makes it a slightly more risky car to buy I’ve heard rumors of dealerships already offering really good deals on these knocking massive sums, like twenty thirty thousand euros off the price of the car, just to kind of get rid of them. So that’s never good. When dealerships are sitting on stocks, especially after Corona, what we’re going through now, I think the market for these BMWs go way down, but in 12 months I think it would be a great buy, but right now new I’d stay.
What can I just point out as well? This is just from me kind of geeking out on my computer. I’M no expert. This is from talking to friends. I had a conversation with some of the other youtubers. You know we I spoke to James spoke to Paul. I spoke to Sam spoke to Shmi and we all had a conversation, and these are kind of some of the cars that we thought would probably be the ones you shouldn’t really look at right now.
Now the next one is going to be fairly controversial because it is brand new. The McLaren, 765 LT MacLaren’s obviously have a reputation for depreciation. Now we all know that the 720s kind of shot down by 70s is now. You can find them for around 80 thousand pounds and the 600 LT even came flying down and the 675lt, which originally went up in value, came shooting. Now that is again down to the fact that McLaren are supplying so many different models, so many different cars so quickly and bunched together.
So there’s constantly kind of a new car coming out, and that means that the value of the ones that are currently for sale isn’t really holding that much and dealerships are indeed sitting on stock. Now this is probably the greatest supercar, arguably for sale. Right now I mean, I think, the 720 s of the stock 720s is the best all-round supercar money can buy. The 765 LT is just going to be an improved, more beefed up version of that so definitely warrants a higher list price, but is it going to be able to keep its value? I’M not sure rumor.
Has it it’s not particularly hard to get your hands on one which is never positive and it kind of arrived at the wrong timing, which obviously no one could plan with all of us being locked away in quarantine? For a few weeks, no one has been able to purchase any of these cars, so there’s going to be a big stock sat and the dealerships, and obviously also quite a few cancelled orders that usually results in dealerships giving good prices on cars, and that drops the Second-Hand value of them now just for examples sake.
The list price of these is listed at 350, eight thousand dollars, which is obviously a lot of money where you can already find a normal seven 20s for one hundred and ninety four thousand euros with only 7,000 kilometers. On line now, obviously, it’s going to be a completely different car, much much better to drive, but is it going to warrant being cost almost double of what you can get a secondhand 720’s? For I don’t know because once you spec these out they’re going to be close to the 400,000 euro mark again, it cut.
It kind of kills me to say this because I’m such a huge fan of the car – and I think McLaren are incredible car makers and if you the money and you want to go spec your own one, why not? If you know that the depreciation is going to be there, but I just like everyone to have all the information at least the way I see it and the way that I’ve maybe learnt about this over the years. So I think that the 765 LT is going to be hit pretty hard by a depreciation, maybe not in the first six months, but at least in the next year, you’ll be able to fix them up for a pretty good, buy spec dependent, of course.
So that’s another one that potentially right now I would maybe just not pull the trigger on this one’s going to be controversial. The Ferrari 488 pista this one is all the wrong way round so effectively when they came out. It was such a high demand for these, and you couldn’t get your hands on one, so they were selling for way over. They were selling for up to 100,000 over the list price. The list price is around 219 1000 euros without options very quickly.
That kind of jumps up with Ferraris so not actually a crazy list price for what it is, and the mid-engine v8 limited edition Ferraris have always kind of held quite well the Scuderia, the four five eight speciality Challenge Stradale. However, this is the first one with a twin turbocharged engine which for purists were other people who usually will drive the price of these cars up. It’S not the best.
It is absolutely stunning it is. I’Ve actually been lucky enough to drive one of these. It is such a great car to drive so much power so complete in the same way as the 765 LT would be. It is just an incredible car, so there’s nothing to fault it in terms of a mechanical object. However, they’re making quite a few of them, 3500 units made and we’re not even sure if that’s including the spiders, so there’s quite a few of them when you compare to specialities or to screw rears.
So when at first they were very hard to get your hands on at the moment, it’s actually not that hard. There are quite a few for sale on the second-hand market, and dealerships are actually building up quite a bit of a stock with them. So you can get some fairly decent deals for them, and a lot of cancelled orders actually came in on those cars as soon as they kind of started. Turning so they went up and they kind of appreciated at first then hit a bit of a roof, and now they’ve been coming back down so that you can buy them for list or under list price.
Just about. We managed to find an example of basically a brand new car for sale for three hundred and five thousand euros. It’S got a pretty heavy spec on it, so that actually puts it under list price, because this car with the spec it’s got, would have been around the three hundred twenty thousand euro mark. So it shows that when they did appreciate right now we’re on a downward curve and I think the current situation, the current car market is not going to help that.
So that’s one that could potentially fool people and you wouldn’t be expected to go down because it’s a limited edition 4-iron because there was so much hype about them at first. But right now it’s one of the cars which is actually dropping in price, the fastest and the more and more we come up for sale and more. There are available, the more dealerships are giving good prices on them, and the more people stack miles on them and more that price is going to shoot down.
I mean the biggest telling thing is that for five x, specialities actually cost more than pistas. Today, even though the cars older all the technology and definitely doesn’t perform quite as much it’s just what the purists want and there are less available. So therefore, the 488 pista another one that’s going to have to make this list the last one, and I don’t. This may get some stick, and this is the one which is kind of a bit of a shot in the dark, because we don’t really know if the Aston Martin valhalla there.
No I’ve definitely not said that right. It’S a tricky one same hyper car from Aston. Martin, we’re not entirely sure when they’ll come, we’ve been waiting for news on the Valkyrie. It’S bigger brother for wild bites are going to be around a million pounds. 986 horsepower 500 units made worldwide and a v6, a race-inspired, v6 stunning car, again sure will be great. To drive, won’t be able to fault it.
It’S kind of inspired by the Valkyrie. But what bothers me with this one, a lot more, is the fact that there is a Valkyrie there. So if you’re going for the hyper cars and a lot of these people, who actually have the money to put a million euros or a million pounds into a car, usually will have a few hyper cars or what I’ve bought a few things are and therefore will Have potentially already got a Valkyrie, so it’s kind of not quite the top of the range of what Aston offers and that can often knock a little bit off the price there.
But then what scares me a lot more is the fact that the vanquish concept which they revealed at the same time, it’s a very similar looking car, which is going to come in for basically a quarter of the price which is fairly terrifying, because if I have That kind of money – and I bought a million euro hyper car and there was a version for court of the price which looked very similar. I wouldn’t feel too confident the numbers 500, even though that’s very little, not that limited and Aston Martin.
Unlike Ferrari, you kind of have an ongoing thing with these hyper cars haven’t quite built up that order book of clients that are willing to spend a million pounds on one of their cars. So I’m not sure that they’re going to be able to really get rid of all 500 straightaway and again. That then leads us to the problem of there being a higher supply. Then there is the and that car potentially coming down, especially when you consider that if you’re spending a ton of money on an aston hyper car, why don’t you just go for the Valkyrie, even though it’s a lot more money? A lot of these people doesn’t actually make a huge difference there.
So, that’s why I see that, actually, sadly, being a hyper car that could potentially drop down and maybe hover around the half, a million six hundred thousand pound mark, which is still a ton of money when you put a million in of taking almost a half a Million pound hit, so that’s a car that I would actually stay away from. I am fully aware that none of us are probably in a state of being able to buy any of these cars right now is not the right time to do it.
This may be a completely irrelevant article, but it was something I was looking into. I find really interesting to find the deals which are good deals, but also what do we steer away from? Why, and when can we find those characteristics in other cars, because the more you learn about the ones that are going down, the more you’re likely to find out which ones are going to go up in the future? About four years ago, as a sideline project, and after just six months, I quit my job because my online sales had generated an income of five times more than my salary. So most of you reading this article are probably looking at how you can make a side.
Hustle with an online business and unless you’ve been living underneath a rock, i’m sure, you’ve heard of the exciting opportunities that uni Commerce offers it’s a crazy space right now – and I know this because a lot of people are always asking me which of these two models Are going to bring me the most profit, what’s going to be the better choice so before we get knee-deep into this topic, I want you to first consider subscribing to this blog and hit the notification belt.
If you’re interested in creating a passive income online, we’ll be creating new content every single week to help you build your own, profitable online business, okay, so let’s go ahead and dive back into our topic. So let me first give you an overview of how each of these business model works and, after this article you’re going to understand, what’s the difference between the two, so let’s first start with drop shipping.
What is drop? Shipping, the drop shipping business model means that a seller like let’s say me or you doesn’t have to keep any inventory on hand, doesn’t have to own any inventory and only buys inventory whenever a sale is made. So essentially, a seller, like myself, would partner up with a supplier who manufactures and warehouses these products and ships them directly to the customer. This way, there’s no need for a seller like myself to own or rent a warehouse to store the products, so I actually don’t own the product at all.
If I were to drop ship, the the transaction happens only when a sale is made. So, let’s go ahead and walk through how the drop shipping model works, step by step, step number one! You create a Shopify store to be your own online storefront, an e-commerce shopping platform step two: you drive traffic from various sources, offline traffic like Facebook and Instagram ads to your storefront step. Three, you get the customer to place an order and they pay for it step.
Four, you then forward that order to the supplier, with customer details and step five, your supplier ships, the order directly to the customer for you, this is all done without ever seeing owning or touching the products, and here you never have to take any inventory risk because You only buy a product when you make a sale. Your focus is entirely on marketing and optimizing your storefront. This means that you never have to invest money in advance for the products and you’ll only pay a supplier for a portion of the payment received from the customer.
Okay. So now that we’ve covered drop shipping, let’s go ahead and dive into how Amazon FBA works. So when you find things to sell in Amazon, what you do is you list them on a product page, you label it under your own brand and then you send it off to an Amazon, FBA warehouse where the items are stored, then packaged and received and shipped When the item sells now here’s the major differentiator between drop shipping and Amazon FBA in the Amazon FBA business model, the seller needs to park money upfront to order products from the supplier.
So that means that you’re ordering inventory in advance – and you own the inventory and once you receive it, you go ahead and send it to Amazon’s warehouses for fulfillment. Now with Shopify drop shipping, there’s no need to send in store items in separate warehouses. Again, you only order items from the supplier and they’ll take care of the shipping and send the product directly to the customer. Typically, though, this means that doing drop shipping you’ll actually make less, which I’ll go ahead and dive into later now, with the Amazon FBA business model, Amazon handles a major portion of the fulfillment and selling process.
It makes it a lot easier for sellers who own inventory to focus on finding profitable products to grow their business. So to help you further understand how this works. Let’S go ahead and just quickly walk through the steps of actually selling the product in Amazon. So you can see what parts the seller handles and what parts are handled by Amazon, FBA, okay, so step number one. You list the product on amazon.
Com step. Number two: you prepare the item to send to Amazon’s warehouses, step three: you ship the items to Amazon’s warehouses, step four Amazon, unpacks and stores your inventory and receives it step 5 Amazon shows up or sorry your product shows up as available on amazon.Com step. Six, a buyer from Amazon right, a buyer goes Amazon. Web site places the order on Amazon and step. Seven Amazon warehouse workers find your product and ship it to the customer step.
Eight, your customer receives the product and let’s say two days: if they’re a prime member. Okay, so here once the products are listed and ready for sale, it’s handed off to Amazon and they actually take care of all the rest. Amazon handles a lot of the hardest and most time-consuming parts that having an e-commerce business. Alright, now that we have a clear picture of how drop shipping and Shopify works and how Amazon FBA works, let’s go ahead and now dive into the pros and cons.
So this is what you guys have been waiting for. So really, I want to preface this depending on your needs in your situation. This is understanding all these parts is going to help you decide what works best for you. So, let’s first start off by talking about startup costs with Shopify drop shipping. The most appealing advantage of this model is that there is a lower startup cost, there’s really virtually no upfront cost for the product itself, because you’re only buying it from the supplier when sale is made.
So it’s all on as-needed basis, so you don’t need to pay for storage fees or anything like that. So after finding a drops are shipping supplier, all you need to do is actually set up a Shopify website which costs about $ 29 a month and have enough money to do advertising because remember you have to drive all the traffic to the website yourself. So this actually brings us to one of the major cons of doing Shopify drop shipping because you’ll be using advertising from external sites to bring traffic to your store.
Now, at the very least, your budget will pie range from five hundred to a thousand dollars a month, but it’ll definitely scale up and up as you are driving more and more traffic, and this is all spent on marketing ads and with the Shopify model. You’Ll be doing tests, you probably run through at least twenty products before you find one that’ll be a winning product for your webstore, so in reality you can probably spend a lot of time and money doing a trial and error on products that may or may not Work and it could take a longer time depending on your level of experience with advertising.
Now, let’s go ahead and dive into costs for Amazon FBA. So if you’re doing private label on FBA, you know you can actually take a take advantage of the traffic that Amazon generates to their own storefront to their own marketplace. So it’s actually, if you don’t know already the most-visited ecommerce site in the world today. Statistics alone shows that, as of December 2017, 197 million users visited Amazon’s web sites per month.
So with that huge number of traffic, you really don’t have to do as much paid external advertising on Amazon as you do for Shopify running Facebook ads. Okay, but since there’s competition on Amazon, Amazon actually has an internal PPC system, which you can use to drive internal traffic from Amazon to your listing. So you can get your products to appear on the Amazon searches, but the reality here is that the learning curve with Amazon PPC is not as steep as learning.
Let’S say, Facebook ads or Google Ads to get the advertising needs. So trust me there’s going to be a lot of tools that you can find to help you find the right product and what keywords to target for your ads on Amazon. So if we’re going to talk about a startup costs entering the Amazon FBA private label, space will require that you have a higher budget for specifically paying for inventory and also paying for fees for shipments and logistics to get your products from China or wherever you’re sourcing.
It to the warehouse, and once it’s at Amazon, extensive warehouses, there’s also an additional fee that you have to be cognizant of, which is the storage fee. The Amazon charges you on a monthly basis for fulfillment. The other things that you’re going to have to consider is that there are fees for designing for photography for buying barcodes, all of which are part of your branding process in making your product unique and stand out from the pack.
So, realistically you can start selling products on Amazon, with about three to five thousand dollars of startup budget mainly spent for your products, but keep in mind, although you might be spending a lot for the upfront quantity realize that you’re buying quantities in bulk, which means you’re Getting the bulk price right, so that means that you’ll get a higher profit margin compared to selling something on drop.
Shipping starting capital might be higher with Amazon, but there’s you’ll have a better chance of getting a higher return on your investment through doing private label and selling your own brand. Now, let’s go ahead and talk about marketing costs. Okay, so this is another one. So I kind of touched on this earlier: Shopify drop shipping. When it comes to marketing. You really need to master a lot of the skills when it comes to Shopify drop shipping things like marketing traffic generation conversion, optimization brand building working with comparison start shopping engines.
So what you can expect is there’s going to be a steep learning curve, because setting up the Shopify site is easy. The hard part is actually driving traffic to your store because there’s no immediate audience to go after so really. This is the massive differentiator Tiffany drop shipping, an FBA and drop shipping. You drive traffic to the website, mainly from paid traffic, and you can’t be successful in drop shipping without knowing how to create Facebook ads and to get good results.
You have to understand how to create Facebook campaigns using custom, audiences or look-alike audiences and other advanced and interesting strategies like setting up conversion campaigns or using pixels to retarget audience members. So you’ll know how to do things like you know. You’Ll have to learn how to do things like reading google trend graphs, creating Google Ads setting up email campaigns and even reaching out to Instagram influencers.
So these are all things that you have to think about if you’re setting up a standalone, Shopify site. Of course, you could also do free traffic through, let’s say SEO, but you also have to realize that too traffic from SEO it’s going to be a long process, because you have to spend a lot of time creating content and it takes a long time for those For that content to build and rank so that you actually get traffic to your store so in reality to get their store started upfront quickly, you’ll need to have a good skill set with understanding how to create paid traffic acts.
Now, let’s go ahead and shift gears and talk about Amazon, FBA marketing costs. So with Amazon you don’t need a create Facebook or Instagram ads, and you don’t have to do that. Steel from the ground up. You benefit from Amazon’s massive budget on gathering customers and their algorithms and their expertise, so you can leverage Amazon’s astronomical traffic. Okay, I mean, based on statistical own Amazon, has almost 2.
6 four billion visits from February 2018 to July 2018. That’S just completely mind-blowing. So what that means is there’s an existing trust. The Amazon customers have an Amazon. Well, that said, all you really have to focus on is optimizing. Your listing and drive into traffic using Amazon’s PPC system, which is vertically integrated within Amazon FBA, and one of the most important thought concepts to understand, is that the people who visit Amazon already know what they want to buy.
All they need. All you need to do is to find the relevant keywords for your product and make sure that your listing appears in the search results. So with Amazon you don’t need to focus as much as establishing a brand. You know thanks to Amazon’s, could will and thanks to their fulfillment, you know you’ll be able to take advantage of Amazon’s massive massive traffic. So let’s go ahead and dive into fulfillment, because this is a really important thing to consider when you’re deciding between the two models and really you know.
This is where I think Amazon really stands out from the drop shipping model and the reason why is because Amazon has a crazy, unparalleled fulfillment network, meaning they own distribution centers throughout the US and throughout the world, which makes it really easy to fulfill products to customers And so, since Amazon takes care of the fulfillment, they also take care of a lot of returns, so you don’t have to handle any returns or anything like that and a lot of the customer service is taken care of for you.
People can call Amazon and they can go ahead and get things resolved, and so this this means that, as an Amazon seller, you’ll have enough time to focus on building your business and finding more and more products. Shipping time obviously plays a role in online buying decisions, and so another thing to consider is that, while some shoppers might be happy to wait a few days for their order to arrive from overseas, a lot of people are used to getting their products really quickly.
So this is where Amazon really comes into play. They can deliver products up up to 22 days – okay, sometimes even 24 hours. So that’s where it stands out. What drop shipping usually lead times are longer because suppliers aren’t as reliable or maybe they’re shipping from overseas, and so Amazon FBA is basically the main reason why prime exists? Okay, so essentially for those of you not familiar. Prime members pay $ 13 a month to get two days: superfast shipping, with a bunch of other added benefits exclusive to Prime members, and at some point Amazon will be using drones to deliver packages to the doorstep, but with Shopify drop shipping.
It’S entirely different. Your orders are sent to your suppliers, which means that they have to process the orders and typically they’re, going to be slower shipping times. So if you use the drop shipping method, you’re going to rely heavily on communication with a supplier, and if the supplier fails to update you that they’re out of stock, then you won’t be able to fulfill the order. And you risk having a bad terrible customer experience.
And this can be a massive challenge, so it wouldn’t be wise to just have one supplier. A lot of people actually have as many as two or three suppliers. Just in case, one supplier doesn’t work out so because, ultimately selling something that you can’t deliver on time can ruin your reputation for many Shopify sellers. Finding a great drop shipping supplier is incredibly challenging and it can take weeks or months to find the right person.
This really requires that you build and maintain a solid relationship with your supplier, okay, so let’s go ahead and dive into product selection, so this is a key factor for the business models on both ends. Now, in both Shopify drop shipping in Amazon, FBA you’re going to have to spend hours forging and finding the right, profitable product, and it can take weeks and even in some cases months before sellers find that one winning product shipping enables you to find a slew of New products, you can give try to a new product you to something and it’s not as risky as if you were going to purchase a product in bulk because remember you don’t take any inventory risk in Shopify.
You can sell trending products, and this can help you earn a huge amount of money fast, because you can move very very quickly. All you have to do is find the right product and drive traffic, and that can be done in a matter of days now with Amazon FBA selling trending products is possible, but it’s not necessarily recommended because there’s a long lead time for when the product is produced. When it arrives the warehouse, especially if you’re sourcing from China, so it could be a huge problem, if, let’s say you’re working with the trending item and by the time the product arrives, it’s no longer trendy, then you’re stuck with so much inventory, and you won’t know What to do with it and remember, on top of that, if you have dead, inventory, you’ll be paying for storage fees to keep the products at Amazon’s.
Warehouse disposing of these products are going to force you to take these this investment at a loss, and so that’s something you want to absolutely avoid and that’s why choosing the right product is super crucial to finding success on Amazon FBA on Amazon. Really, the key is just to find a product – that’s already selling well, but that find a product. That’S selling well, but it also in a niche where you can compete and you can dominate your competition.
The good thing is that there are a ton of tools that can help you find winning products on Amazon. You can use software tools like market intelligence, from viral launch, to validate your ideas and help. You find good products that already work well, and you can use that information to study the competition and check on historical data and trends to help you see what the upfront costs and profits are, and if you want to do keyword, research as a fantastic tool called Zhong words, which you can use as well they’re, just a ton of tools out there available for Amazon sellers.
You can also follow step by step methods and strategies that are proven to work and get your listing to the front page of Amazon search results. So it’s been proven, it’s it’s a systematic method. Now, let’s go ahead and dive into competition between both of these models. Now I’d say that there’s a different nature of competition between shops, Shopify drop shipping and an FBA with Shopify there’s something that I like to call indirect competition, meaning that you won’t find competitors directly close to your store.
There are going to be, of course, other shops that sell the same product because, of course, your drop shipping, but the difference is in Amazon. The competition is literally one click away on your listing itself, there’s going to be other advertisements for the exact same product from other brands. So let’s say, for example, if you search for yoga mats, you can find up to 3000 results. Okay, so keep in mind that there’s always competition in both business models.
That’S why finding a good product and a good niche with less competition is always going to be crucial for your success. But I would say in this situation: it plays a more crucial factor in Amazon FBA, because you know the barrier to entry to marketing your listing is very low okay, so the next thing to talk about is price factor. Okay related – and this is loosely related to competition on Amazon, we could say that price plays a massive factor if you’re selling online, if you have competition with a ton of other people, unlike unlike Shopify, where they’re just on your store, you know and they’re unlikely to Go and search on other blogs on Amazon competition is literally found on the same page, so pricing is going to be a massive factor, but there are certainly ways to make it work.
There are certainly ways to be a top Amazon seller and to compete on things. Other than price, like reviews, you know, ranking doing giveaways all that kind of stuff, making sure good images and you can focus on adding more values by offering more features or bundling your products or doing better copywriting and keyword. Optimization, alright, so profit margins. Let’S dive into the thing that you really really want to understand and figure out what is more profitable between the two Amazon, FBA or Shopify dropshipping.
Both methods are course good options for making money online, really just depending on the circumstance. The entry or the very, entering the dropshipping world, I would say, is very low. Drop shipping suits people who are new to the online business space and have a small initiative initial budget when getting started. It also really benefits people who have existing knowledge and experience of how to drive traffic using things like Facebook or Google AdWords.
But that also means a lot of your product. Margin is going to be spent testing audiences and using your budget with potentially little return on. The other hand, Amazon FBA, offers awesome opportunity to generate a lot of income online with less marketing costs, but there requires a lot more capital for inventory to get started. I mean they are, but don’t look at it that way, they’re paying you to get them soap in one day where that is press the button and go you’re almost like a personal shopper in a sense don’t think of this as ripping someone off because you’re making A 600 percent ROI on your item, because that really doesn’t take into consideration how any store sells their items. No one is selling things at cost, everyone’s, adding their own value, some way with the allocation or convenience, or maybe it’s a rare item who knows these? Are all things that are used to provide value and that value is well? You see it.
Obviously, when you can sell things for more money, it’s because they’re worth more to that person, so think of it. That way, if you’re uncomfortable with aspects of capitalism, because well there’s a million reasons, you might have those opinions. But if you are don’t focus on the ROI, because those are just you know, kind of nebulous numbers that really have no meaning outside of comparing one cell to the other.

Well, first of all, you’re not going to be buying dollar store items you’re going to see in the article. Because, very rarely are you going to have a dollar store item sell for more than ten bucks and ten dollar transactions. We, if you have a lot of them to get six thousand dollars a year, but what you should do is think of it. This way I want to make 70 grand a year – let’s say: 72 grand it’s easier. That way. What Amazon, FBA does is you’re, not storing things. You don’t have to be dumb like me, and I have a warehouse you’re not dealing with customer service because they handle that you just buy the items prep them and again.
I have articles on that below and mail them to Amazon using their heavily discounted rates. They store it, they ship it out and, yes, you are sometimes paying a 40 % fee which seems crazy to the uninformed. I guess, but when you look at it 40 % not to store items not to pay shipping on individual items not to deal with customer service, it tends to make sense that way. You know, of course, don’t put all your eggs in one basket, but when you want to make 50 grand more year 70 grand more year, you have to think okay.
What are ways that I can just use existing systems like Amazon’s fulfillment network, to scale up my own personal business, and that’s how you do it. If you want to work business to business now, I use LinkedIn and have created a significant amount of income just from using LinkedIn and hanging out in LinkedIn groups. Now I don’t hang around in lots of different groups, because that doesn’t serve you to scatter gun your approach. It will serve you to get very laser-focused and target people that have the specific need or requirement, and that means hanging around in a group where there’s lots of your ideal customers that you could help to serve so give you an example, one group that i’m in I went into the group and there was somebody there.
This was just before we sold our room. It wasn’t just froze when we had our branding and design agency that we sold in 2013 and this person expressed a need for a website designer, and I was one of the first people to see this and comment the back. But what happened was before I’d responded. There were people that had they just actually said call me call me, call me, and it was just blatant. You know trying to get married on a first day.
