Com, and I wanted to make this quick article just to run by a general outline that I put together for this training program I’ll be creating. Some of you have been yelling at me for a while to get this training program created it’s going to be completely free, but it’s going to be a ton of work too. So I wanted to run this by you guys just to see if there’s anything you’d like to see included if I’m leaving something out if there’s stuff included that you don’t think would help – and I know I’m scrolling through this really fast.
So let’s go through this. A little bit slower, okay, so planning is starting with an introduction. Just tell people who I am why the course is free, along with an affiliate disclaimer to say you know, hey this course is free, but I do have some affiliate products within this course that I’ll get paid for. If you sign up, which then goes into you know the course is free, but how much is this actually going to cost you when all is said and done if you go through my entire training program and sign up for all the products that I recommend you Sign up for how much is it going to cost you in the long run some secrets that I’m not going to tell you? I know some of you don’t want to hear this, but the most successful affiliate marketers generally do have some secrets that they’re not going to tell you about their business.
Maybe a specific niche that they’re involved in or something like that or a special partnership that they can’t really give you information about due to non-disclosure agreements or whatever so I’ll go through some of the things that I will not tell you and why I’m not going To tell you those things without getting too specific, obviously setting realistic expectations finding out if affiliate marketing is really for you in a general overview of really what your job is going to be as an affiliate marketer just your day to day test.
Assuming that you are successful and you’re working on your affiliate marketing business every day, what exactly is your job going to be, and you know there’s a lot of different ways to succeed, affiliate marketer so I’ll just be focusing on my business and sort of how it’s Become successful and what my job is basically everyday as an affiliate marketer, the next up we’ll get into niche creation. So what is a niche? How to come up with a good? I guess the proper way to say it is niche, isn’t it so niche creation? What is it how to find a good niche how to do market research on your niche, determining monetization potential and coming up with three different ideas? I always recommend people come up with three different niche ideas and then narrow that down to one after you’ve done all of your market research and all bets so I’ll be going through specific examples.
Dog food reviews will be based off of my real-world site dog food, insider.Com or I’ll. Show you some of the keyword, research that I’ve done on that site and how I determine articles to write and how he decided to even make that site in the first place. But also go through a couple new ones too, so, for example, San Diego travel. I live in San Diego and so I’ve always thought about maybe making a site on San Diego travel.
I also have here in the parentheses on all these, what my monetization strategies would be, what sort of services and products I would work with to monetize that so San Diego travel, I’m going to way more specific on San Diego would be a site specifically for Petco Park, which is where the San Diego Padres play terrible baseball team, but it’s a phenomenal stadium that a lot of people like to travel to from out of state, so that would be cool.
I go to almost every game at Petco Park, so that will be pretty fun to write a site about that. So we’ll get into researching that as a potential niche and then, of course, how to narrow down to the best niche. So that also ties into keyword, industry, research or keyword, keyword, research in industry, research, which sort of ties along with SEO or search engine optimized, so I’ll get into what our keywords and why are they important? What is SEO sort of tell people about is how to actually perform keyword.
Research, and here we have our first actual paid product purchase, which I will recommend. Probably I use a few different keyword, research tools, but in this course I will probably recommend that people sign up for longtail Pro and just so you guys know that’s. I think I get 30 % of that and it’s a recurring thing. So if somebody stays signed up for longtail Pro I’ll, I get 30 % of the recurring commissions, which I think it’s like 30 bucks or something for that service.
Let’s see and then also how to create a website blueprint so that you know every page that you’re going to be writing along with every keyword ahead of time, probably like a hundred different pages minimum um. So I’ll show people how to do that and then, of course, once you have the blueprint all set up, you’ve done all this keyword, niche research take a breath if your. If your niche is not what you thought it would be.
If there’s not going to be enough, monetization potential or after doing keyword and industry research, you’ve learned that, maybe that it’s just too competitive, it’s not exactly what you want to get into go back to the drawing board. I’ll, try to you know, tell people that that’s an important step as well, so finally, we’ll get into the the real meat of it here, which is how to set up a domain name.
What is it, what makes a good, no domain name and how to find an available domain name as well as a register it, so that will be another paid product which this will tie into web hosting I’m going to be recommending Bluehost for probably both the web Hosting, as well as registering the domain, because you can do it in one package, it’s super simple. Most of my domains are actually hosted in GoDaddy, but I think I’m just going to recommend, especially for brand new people, to sign up for the domain name as well as web hosting in the same place which will be Bluehost.
So what is blue over I’m sorry? What is web hosting good web hosting services and who I recommend so I’ll? Actually let people know a few different web hosts, but in the end, when I show you how to set up web hosting step by step, this again is a paid product. And it’s going to be through Bluehost, so hopefully the idea is that people will click on my affiliate link, it’s a Bluehost to register their domain and set up their web hosting, as I show them how to do that which I’ll get paid instead of getting people To pay me up front – and this is really where I’ll make them most of my money on this course, because web hosting I get 65 bucks for everybody that signs up for a web hosting plan that starts at like 399 a month or something.
So that’s pretty cool and then also I’ll show people how to create a domain. Specific email address and forward that to your gmail account. If you have a gmail okay, so next would be setting up WordPress. So what is WordPress? Why I use it how to develop it Bluehost? This is one of the reasons I’m picking Bluehost. They make it super easy. It’s literally like one button that you have to press and installs WordPress with a lot of difference, theme, options and widgets and things pre-installed to make it real easy for people who are new to building WordPress, but I’ll, go through detail tutorials on how it’s set up Everything, including your first page, how to set up menus and things like that.
The next section will be content creation, so how to write great content specifically for the internet. It takes a certain type of finesse to write for both search engines, while I guess social media as well, along with human readers BOTS, I mean there’s a lot of things to consider when writing content, specifically for the Internet and fortunately, it’s a whole lot easier than Having to write from like a text, a book or even a magazine or newspaper right, I think writing for the Internet is great, so I’ll show people how to specifically write for the Internet.
My four steps to content creation that I’ve been using forever called CTP M I’ll, get into that how to optimize your content for on-page SEO. So it’s actually founded by search engines and a proper internal linking on your site, because it’s very important for SEO a lot of people overlook that then we’ll get into link building and other SEO tactics. The difference with doing the white hat and black hat SEO.
Difference between on-page and off-page SEO. What link building is a warning about link building, which I hope, people heed, because link building can be very dangerous and just different types of ways to build links that I’ll get into the the specifics of each of those. Next section. Additional traffic getting methods how I obtained the vast majority of my website visitors. Hence it’s through Google how long it takes to grow organic search, traffic, email marketing.
This is another paid product, I’ll, probably end up, recommending Aweber for for email marketing, probably not something that people need to sign up for right away, but hopefully you’ll still get some Commission’s from that and again it’s it’s a recurring Commission. I think, like a 30 percent recurring Commission every month or something like that, it’s actually pretty good and other ways on how to get traffic through social media YouTube and how to repurpose your content, so that you can share that on multiple platforms.
Then monetization strategies setting realistic expectations on how long it’s going to take to make money, how to find affiliate partnerships and specifically high paying affiliate programs and since Amazon, associates and Clickbank are such large affiliate programs. I’m going to be going over some special things to consider when using those how to develop a good affiliate partnership. Specifically, if you have an affiliate manager and a dish, ways to make money from your site, in addition to affiliate marketing which, having your own product or service, can end up being even more profitable than affiliate programs.
So that’s something I’ll go over as well. Okay, so ongoing affiliate business strategy is what to expect in your first 12 months, refining and optimizing your site over time. What to do when you do start making money, outsourcing tips and tricks, because I love to outsource things in my business by by reinvesting earnings into having other people doing work for me and then how to scale and diversify.
In other words, just stick with the winners. Learn how to scale up the money that you’re already making on a site that’s doing well and then how to diversify, either your current business or creating more sites in different industries and different niche, so that you can diversify your site even or your your income. Your business even more then I’ll, give some final thoughts, a bonus section where I’ll show you guys inside my sites, a breakdown I’ll, probably specifically get into dog food insider as well as affiliate, marketer training.
Com I’ll, be going over my revenue I’ll be going over my traffic Sources I’ll dive into Google Analytics and they actually reminds me – I should have had a section on that. I’m setting up Google Analytics in Google search console hmm. I wonder where I could put that off to put that in here somewhere, because that’s pretty important too, but anyway, I will show you all of the stats for these sites, which have been running for years.
So that’ll be pretty cool to look into the three or four year history and the growth of those sites and in how I’ve really grown those up over time. I’ve mental have a motivation section as well I’ll create a article on the lifestyle that affiliate marketing has provided me with. Since so I mean, I started in 2009, went full time in 2011, so kind of show where I’ve, traveled and and some of the things I’ve been able to do because of affiliate marketing.
I mental you a bunch of books in articles and things, a sort of a self-help section things that I found interesting that have helped me to grow over time as well. So I’m guessing this is going to be about a hundred articles overall somewhere in that range. Some of them will be longer than others. Some might just maybe a few minutes. Others might be. You know a half hour long, but that is going to be a lot of work, but I think it’s needed.
We don’t have a good honest, free, affiliate, marketing training program out there. So let me know what you guys think. Am I missing anything. Does this look like something you’d be interested in you know, is it overwhelming? Am I missing too many steps? Any feedback you guys could give me would be great because I don’t want to put in all this work if it’s not really what you guys are looking for.
So what do you think if you’re reading this and you’ve made it all the way to the end? I would really like your opinion, because I don’t have a ton of subscribers on YouTube. Yet so, if this affiliate program training program came out, what do you think? Would you sign up? Would you go through this? Would you be willing to click on my affiliate links? If I asked you pretty pretty please, and so I don’t have to charge people ahead of times, they go through the course cuz.
That’s really what I want to do. Also, these products, you know, are actual products and services that I use for the most part web hosting. I don’t really use Bluehost, I use WP engine, but that’s way more expensive than brand new affiliate. Marketer just need to sign up for so these really are products and services that I believe in so hopefully people will see that and – and I can make some money on the back ends after creating this course.
So anyway, that’s all I got for you guys this time. If you have any thoughts, let me know I don’t know how long this is going to take me. I’m shooting, for maybe 3 or 4 weeks to create all these articles and start getting them up there and maybe I’ll provide a place for you know early act for those of you that want it. Okay, that’s all I got take

Now today, I’ve had a question from Vincent Britain, Dan who has come through via the article that biz crowd promoted for us last week on social media fears. Now Vincent has sent an email which says hello. Thank you for the article in biz crowd around social media fears. I am a little old-fashioned and can’t get over the skeptic view that social media, Facebook, Twitter, etc is quite tricky to handle with a lack of human resources.
It may be that social media is like marketing oxygen. However, I find it very difficult as a sole trader when I have so many other things to concentrate on. Do you have any suggestions or solutions? Yes, Vincent absolutely I do now it is tricky when you are working for yourself, because social media – and I mean there are so many social blogs that you can use to promote your business and promote you that you could end up just literally doing that as a Full-Time job and never making any money, and let’s face it, the point of using social media is to queue up some customers for you, so that you have tomorrow’s money as well as today’s money, while you’re serving the customers that you’re working with so you do have To be quite careful when it comes to social media because you could get caught up in the the same, I suppose trap that a lot of people do when they start using social media, which is to just go nuts on it.
And then you don’t end up getting anything else done. I know, because that’s what happened with me, so what I found the best thing to do was to just focus on one or two blogs. Now. The best thing you can do Vincent is to think about where your ideal customers are now. I don’t know anything about your business because you haven’t told me what you do, but I’m guessing that it’s something to do with property from your your email address.
Now, I would think about your ideal customers step into your ideal customers. Shoes think about their pain, think about what they’re going through. What what then, what frustrates them? What kind of panic are they going to be in or what kind of and a future mode are they going to be in because they’re that your customers are either going to be moving away from pain towards pleasure or they’re going to be moving towards pleasure, and Not even thinking about pain, so, for example, if you are a plumber, then it’s quite likely your customer might be phoning you up for to move away from pain, they might be moving or they might be in pain at the moment, a burst pipe, their kitchen might Be flooded, they’re going to be in a real reaction restate, so the best thing you can do is make sure you’re very visible, on a social blog and on your website in a way that they can access.
You quickly, they’re not going to want to go, searching hunting and surfing on the internet, they’re going to want to find you and they’re going to want to find you quickly. On the other hand, if open on that note, by the way, you should make sure if you have got something if you have got a product or service where you’re moving your customers moving away from pain if they’re in pain – and you are there to help him Move out of it then having a mobile website a website where they can find you very quickly online, and your number will come up on the on the phone that basically, it will recognize the device that your customer is using.
So if it is on a phone it’ll pick up that you’ve got a mobile website and it will display it so rather than them having to scroll down for everything your your mobile site will come up. It will be really really clear at the size of the face of the mobile or the smart device that you’re using, and you can make sure your number. You can just literally click on the number and call it, whereas if people are going to a website, you might have your number at the top of your website.
If it’s not mobile web ready, ready, they’re going to have to really zoom in and they might not be able to click on your number, they might have to type your number then by memory, because they’re looking at your website, they type in your number by memory Into their phone and they could get digit wrong and end up phone in someone else, get it really paid off and call the next person on the list, who does have a mobile-ready website that they can call from quickly if you are moving, if you’ve got a Service or a product where they’re moving towards pleasure, for example, and maybe you’re an interior designer, so somebody is more than likely going to come to you.
They have some kind of disposable income that they’re going to spend because they want their room or their space to be improved in some way, and it might be, they want you to give them more space. It might be that they want to create a space witches for their grandchildren or there’s going to be any motive. Motivation behind that, rather than a reactive, so they’re they’re going to be hanging out in a different place to the people who are going to want to find you quickly.
It’s very unlikely that somebody who needs a plumber straight away is going to go onto facebook and start looking for if their kitchen is flooded, they’re going to want to find you quickly. So you need to make sure you’ve got a mobile-ready website and I would make sure that you are then promoting that mobile ready website on your social blogs, Twitter and Facebook will be very, very good for you.
If you have that reactionary kind of service and they’re still very good for you, if you have the emotive service, where you’re moving them into a place of pleasure, excellent, in fact, I mean hairdressers, beauticians people that have a business consumer and a company business. They do very very well on on facebook and twitter, and you can also use Facebook Ads. You could use LinkedIn, but I would sort of suggested that in that case, Facebook or Twitter would be brilliant ways of you getting in front of your ideal customers.
What you got to do is really step into their pain or step into their pleasure. Why are they searching for you and where are they likely to find you? Where are they hanging out? Where are they spending most of their time? So you can start getting onto the on their radar can start creating and sticky things in their mind, putting things out there. I call it a heartbeat, so you’ve continually got that heartbeat of your brand beating in front of them and – and you need to make sure you’re doing that on the social blog they’re wrong, because they might well find you on social media.
They might have a problem and think, oh, I saw Vincent promoted something the other day his number. I know it’s on facebook i’ll go and get it from there. So if you’re already creating those messages and you’ve got that heartbeat, that’s constantly beating and constantly visible in front of them, then that’s a great way because you’re the first person they’re going to think of when they need you or they want what you provide and Facebook And Twitter have and they have produced the best results in all the social campaigns that we’ve used, certainly over the last three to four years and that’s on a business to consumer level.
If you’re selling business-to-business, you really really want to be on linkedin, but why i’d suggest you do is really photo find out where your customers are spending most of their time on whatever social blog. That is and then make sure you’re in front of them at least once or twice a day. I wouldn’t do it more than three times, because that can come. You know it just can get repetitive and it can get in their face if you’re doing it through facebook with Twitter.
You do need to be on there a bit more because there’s more people who are putting things up there throughout the day and you’re, just whatever you’ve posted, is going to go straight to the bottom of that line. If they are very well connected and they have a big network of people, they’re going to be seeing a lot of updates – and you don’t want yours to be at the bottom, so think about them. Where you customers are hanging out and at what times, they’re likely to be online when they’re, looking for you or what you provide or when they’re just chilling out, and you want to get on their radar, you want to get in their conscious.
Yes, now I use social media not just to get new customers, but I also use it to interact with our existing customers. It’s a very, very good way of you constantly providing value and adding wow experiences to them without you having to phone them up every day or spend money on expensive advertising. So I find it’s really good. All of our customers join us online. We make sure that they get different things to what we post on other things, for example, at miles, and I have created the brand accelerator program, which is a very, very exclusive program.
It’s like doing a three-year branding degree, a three-year marketing degree, a three-year business degree, stroke MBA, and what we’ve done is taken all the fluff out of that and condensed it. So the people that are on our program are only doing the things that really matter to building that business. Taking that idea from being a seedling or a thought or something that you’re already providing, but you want to create a much bigger presence for it.
You want more visibility, get it in front of people in a much bigger way, so we’ve created that program and we create these daily article tips like we I’m doing for you now Vincent and, if you’re reading and you have the same challenges as Vincent. Hopefully this advice is helping you and – and we’ve got that program, but we don’t put articles like this in that particular group. That’s a closed group and we put Wow articles in there added value articles things that no one else sees and we’re we’re giving added value to those people who are spending money with us on our program and that’s an ongoing thing.
So so you want to think about how you can also use social media to communicate with your existing customers and how you can communicate with a different list of prospects. People who you want to be customers, because you would communicate with them in a slightly different way. Otherwise, it could come across as spammy to people who don’t know you yet and over the top to people who are already spending money with you.
So I do different things with different people. Now I’ve done is. Last year I created a social media series where a 10-step series which gave information about social media and how we use it and how we advise that you would use it in your business. So there’s 10 articles they’re all on YouTube and I’m going to post the links to them here underneath this article. So you can go in and you can read all of those articles as a series if you want to and what also say is in an issue.
5 of brand brain magazine, which you can go in by now at brand brain magazine com in issue 5, which is out right now – and there are, let’s, have a look. Well, we’ve got articles which are on and how to leverage the power of facebook brand management. How to manage your reputation on the line which is very relevant to social media, social proof, the psychological technique that will win you customers, so that that’s another article that again will really help you till to win customers, and you can use that offline and online.
How to build your brand equity online cost-effectively and the wonderful world of facebook tabs so there’s 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Verse 5 articles out of a whole magazine which are on social media and there’s loads of other articles in there as well. And if you go to and if you go to our main website in the drop down menu, the second option in is a drop down and you’ll, see that we have past issues with bran bran magazine on there.
I’ll put the URL below this article. So it makes it easier for you to get them, but you can see past publications as well and what’s in those and if you want to to get past publications that have got amazing content in and a lot will be around social media. A lot of things will help you with your social media efforts, and then you can buy those magazines. You can buy the back issues as well, so I’ll make sure I put the links to those Vincent.
I hope that this article has helped you and it’s given. You some clarity so that you don’t get confused and start trying to get on every single social blog just get on one or two, and do them really really well and you can do them throughout the day. So, as a busy person and the only person in your business as a sole trader, you can pop on Twitter when you need to the toilet or when you’re just about to get in the car.
And then you know before you set off just post. Another little thing – and you know, there’s lots of stuff you can do in the articles. Do I am a car starting about the length of a blog post? It’s a really common question that we get time and time again and it’s come in on the QA for this week. Yes, Marissa Jenkins has asked that question. How long should a blog post be and well I’ve decided to take on that challenge because I know a thing or two about size or blog posts, just so what care blog post right? Marissa! Thanks for the question when it comes to the size of a blog post, there’s no hard and fast answer like everything in life, everyone is different.
Everyone is unique, some will be longer than others. Some will be shorter than worse. Some will need to be longer that aren’t long enough and some will be too short that they just can’t have enough energy. So how do you make sure you’ve got the right length of a blog post? It’s a tricky one to wait! Oh well! Let me give you some advice: conventional wisdom around SEO will tell you that anything over 350 words has a better chance of getting ranked well, that is true, but we found that actually blog posts longer than a thousand words get ranked even better.
In fact, only 6 % of bloggers are creating content with more than 2,000 words. So if you’re looking to stand out with a piece of content, maybe it needs to be over 2,000 words to really stand out. So that’s just if you’re looking for an epic piece of content that you really want to impact with. Maybe it needs to be 2,000 words or more now, for your standard, blog post. How long should that be? Well, it depends really on what the standard is again within your niche.
There’s going to be a lot of other bloggers, regardless of what you’re writing in, but you can be pretty sure that a good few blogger is already talking about this company, so maybe take a blog post of theirs copy it and then paste it into word and You’ll see the word count and do that for a couple of bloggers within your niche see what their typical length of blog post comes out like ten people pick 10 because the maps are in okay, kids take a note of how long the blogpost are, and that Will give you an average called the blog post, but most bloggers within your niche are producing.
It will give you an idea what your benchmark should be for standard content. What your benchmark should be for super pieces of content and it’ll also give you an idea as if you wanted to do a short, quick, well postal, a short Creek Road close to you or I could be 3 or 500 words for two people within your niche. A short blog post could be just 100 words, or it could be a thousand words, so understanding where your niche is in terms of the types and length of blog posts that are going out there will help.
You then decide how long your blog post should be for us. For me, in particular, our blog post generally, especially at the moment, are coming in well over 1,500 words, if not over 2,000 words, in fact, I’ve just written a first draft or vocals. Today, that’s two thousand two hundred and fourteen words and that’s like forged wrap, so that will give you an idea of the types of content we create now.
Having said that, most of the content we create will have a kind of help to list element to it. So we’re trying to convey a message, we’re trying to show people how to do something or we’re explaining something. So that does take time to convey in a blog post, whereas if it was a quick bit of news like our fantasy football side, when we report on the news, those articles would probably be just about 350 400 words, no more, no less precise enough to give You the facts, but not long enough to bore you, so that’s what you’re kind of looking at so there is no definitive hard and fast answer.
Look at! What’s going on within your niche look at what other people are doing and then decide. Does this style of blog post, I’m writing soup the length of time I have to write above 4. So if you’re writing a hell, when you’ve only got time, maybe to not go 500 words, you might be able to do one at the time you have. You. May need to read you your schedule to push that whenever maybe write it at a later date, so just think about the style of blog post.
Can you convey what you need to convey within that style within a limit and that’s what it comes down to and really the best piece of advice? I can give you when it comes to how long a vocal should be is a blog post. It always be as long as it needs to be with short enough to be engaged, so don’t try and draw it out just because you’re trying to hit a word count and if you can take out some unnecessary words.
I do suggest you do something. In fact, I linked to a recent article in the description below with nine ending tips for bloggers, and it’s something that I spoke about recently on the blog that will help you wan na, come to editing your blog content and also will have a bearing on how Long, your blog posts are going to be so what I will say is don’t worry about it, really how long it’s going to be, but if you want it to rank well, then it’s got to be over 350.
As we know, I would say it’s got to be over five, at least if you really want to stand out from the crowd. You’ve got to do something bigger and bolder than what’s already out there, but don’t start out creating a piece of blog content with a ward count in mind. Have it as long as it needs to be, but short enough to cover all of the points. So that’s it Marissa. Thank you very much for your question today and don’t forget folks.
If you’ve got a question, you want me to answer, you can leave in the comment section below or you can send me an email. It’s still up content dot Academy, but that’s it for me for this Tuesday and until next Tuesday happy blogging

So he is an experienced marketing and business development executive and we look forward to talking to him about marketing for architects.
So Kyle welcome to the show thanks it’s great to be here in person yeah and I’ve readed. Many of these things never actually taking part. So it’s pretty cool to be here that you know, and it is an honor thank you for spending your time to come and share your knowledge with with architects and talk about business of architecture and talk about marketing it my pleasure. So in listening. It’s initialling combination! How you you’re licensed architect, but you have the specialty in focus on marketing yeah, tell us how that happened in your career and also just a note there.
Let’s sum move your camera down just a little bit, or maybe your screen, so your heads a little higher here there we go that’s good, so we get you in full. Full frame, yep yep a little bit a little bit back a little exactly there. There you go, that’s good, perfect, all right, good, so trauma patient. You bet so tell us a story so licensed architect to you know. How did you what took you from being a an architect to being the former managing director or the director of marketing and business development for the AIA? Um? Well, I would say: I’ve always been an architect, so once you’re knocked, I think we all believe that once you’re, an architect you’re, always not matter what you’re doing and many of us take some different pads for me, I was a very fortunate coming out of business School, not a physical out of architecture school to go work for the cambridge 7 associates up in Boston and got to work on some really exciting projects with some really smart people who are the Cambridge, and what’s that, what does the Cambridge 7 tell me about them? Their work, Cambridge, is a is a very well.
It’s a it’s a back, forty-year-old, firm in Boston and if you know the New England, Aquarium, Boston or the National Aquarium in Baltimore, those are all Cambridge seven projects. I think in 1993 they won the firm of the Year award so they’re a truly long, well-established firm. In Boston, New England and they’re kind of known worldwide as the aquarium firm, that’s their real claim to fame. I worked there.
I didn’t work on the aquarium projects. I worked on the the ones that made money the the less glamorous. I worked a lot about shopping malls and movie theaters and they were actually really interesting because both of those types of projects when you design you’re, designing with business in mind and a business process and it for this operation – and I was really getting intrigued by it – And loved working with my clients and started thinking about the business side of things and decided to go to business school.
So I went back to business school and while I was there, I really became fascinated with marketing and I don’t think people by helping people who aren’t in marketing always know that it L strategic it is, and I compared it I think. Actually, most architects are probably we could be wired to be great marketers, because it is really about designing a marketing strategy you’re. Just not you know, working with visuals but you’re, looking with understanding consumers and developing a strategy and a product around those consumers.
Much as you would be developing a program around a client – and you know, building a building around a little bit more about that, because you know for a lot of us. Marketing is sort of a different language. So when you say strip being really strategic about us about it, help us understand what you mean by that. What does that mean? Okay, this is the way I think about it. If you ever go through a marketing class, probably one of the first things they’re going to tell you about, is to always remember three seas and the four p’s, and that’s just that’s that baseline of marketing.
I all the thinking goes around those things and the three C’s are the company meeting you, the company, you are what are your strengths and weaknesses? What can you do very well what you not do and you have to decide? What is it I’m going to do? Am I going to make dishwashing liquid? Am I going to make soap and I got the tires okay and if I do make tires, do I make racing tires? Do I make up you know snow tires, I’m a dishwashing liquid.
Am I going to fight grease or make shiny dishes, make your hand saw decide who you are what you do well and don’t try to do all things to all people um. The second C is the customer or the client or the consumer. You can put the seat to any of those, but it’s really who you are trying to serve and you, if you’re going to find a client or a customer. You want to find one that it’s looking for what you need right.
So it’s it’s sort of like a Unity game. They got to go together. You can’t be trying to force-feed the wrong clients, things that you don’t do right. So you deciding what your company is, helps you realize who the customer should be and finding the customers that you can serve best means you’re going to perform best you’re going to be happiness and your customers are going to be just as happy. But that’s a very strategic decision you have to make and I don’t think people realize how much thought and strategy goes into that and then the other scene.
This example: I’m going to pause you right there, because this is such this is great information Kyle and I don’t want. I don’t want you to gloss over anything that, to you might seem second nature, because you’re, a professional that does this and the late delay. People like myself out there who are learning from this process, so you say: there’s a lot that goes into that. You know the second C, which is the client and the first C, which is the company.
Can you sort of give me sort of an example to help me understand, what’s so complex about that, and I guess how to do it correctly? Okay, so let’s say you want to in an example, I I’m going to also be jumping into one of the peas as well there’s the product, so the product is what you are developing for the customer and the client so you’re having to find something that you See people want so you know, let’s say you your Starbucks right and you’re, not Starbucks, yet you’re, just Howard Schultz, right, let’s say architecture firm.
Can you can you switch it and say? Okay, we were an architecture firm right and I have experience with. Let’s say schools. I work I used to work for a big firm and I did a lot of school work, so I know a lot about designing schools and I’m going to start my own firm and gosh yeah, there’s so many things I could do. I think I might you know, want to design a kitchens. Well, I don’t have any expertise in that.
I could develop it, but maybe I get started a lot quicker. If I know I can do schools and if I feel like I have enough bandwidth and the right people to do, schools, and if I don’t, I have to you, know, find the right people and can I afford them all those kind of questions have to say. That’s that’s what I’m to do so. I have to gear up to do that and can I afford you have to do that? Okay, that’s great, but am I in a market where they’re going to be schools right? I am I do I live in the desert and there’s not another city around for 300 miles.
Well, you’re, probably not going to do well design the schools do it. Do I live in a growing community where lots of young families are moving into on that’s going to explode with development yeah? That sounds like a pretty good place to do schools. So those two things are critical. So then you might start thinking about the product. So within you yourself as doing schools, what kind of school are you going to be say this like really well sustainable, sustainable schools? And that’s you know it helps it.
That’s what you get in the past, but you’ve got to figure out what the product is, that you’re going to be making and they’re all sort of symbiotic, they’re, the customer, client and the product kind of all go together and you sort of in you equip yourself To do that, that needs your staffing, the technologies you’re going to be using, but knowing those things you can start to address the other P’s and C’s and that sort of stuff, because it’s ready, you give a very interesting example that made me think about, for instance, When, let’s take the school example, say I’m an architect and I’m wanting to target school districts, would you recommend, in terms of product or service? In our case, would you recommend, focusing in on a tiny little area of the school district needs like, for instance, maybe classroom remodels or maybe a compliance, as opposed to just saying: hey, we’re a school architect and we’ll do anything and everything for schools talk about that, Especially if you’re just starting out right, especially just starting out, find something narrow, the narrower, you can be the more of an expert you can be and the more of a specific problem you can be solving because you know clients don’t mean, I don’t say most clients.
Most clients, most customers, think in terms of needs and problems right. If you are a noted problem, solver and leave FULFILLER people are going to turn to you more quickly than if you are a yeah. I do schools. Eventually, you may be able to step back and say: yeah I do schools. You got to start somewhere solving a problem by doing that, you’re, making it a little bit easier on yourself, because you’ve only got to worry about one minute to get really really good at before.
You expand to something else, as opposed to like trying to be all things to all people. You know 88 compliance. You can say to people. I am the expert about 88 compliance and you have questions about 88 compliance. Ask me whether it’s architectural or not on the expert and so being an expert like that you’re creating demand. Did people have that problem? If people have that need on, you are the solution to the demand they have okay.
So let me just rephrase that, and in my own words, to make sure I’m understanding and our listeners can apply it to themselves. So, for instance, instead of going and saying hey, I’m an architect and I do anything relating to schools that would be basically telling them what we can do, but in terms of needs and solving problems. If I tell them, hey, listen, I’m an expert at a DEA compliance and I can go through your school and if you have any projects that need to be done, I can tell you how much it’s going to work.
You know where you need to put the grab rails where you need to put the ramps and how that’s going to work that that speaks a lot more to the specific problem and needs yeah. It’s worth salient right. You know it’s probably, I think more often uh. The kind of project that somebody needs to be fulfilled is going to really be like building a whole school like it’s going to be solved. This problem, quality and I’ll come back to you getting to solve that problem, but now I have a relationship with you and so yeah you’re an architect right yeah.
I do 88 employees Wow. Could you Doug, you know renovate a section of our school? Well, of course, I can, and you can guarantee it’ll be a DA compliant when I do that, but then you sort of like you got that you’re expanding a relationship. That’s like trying to overlay which need do you have right now right, whether the instead, you are growing out from a service you provided in a a solution you provided in building the relationship from there.
That’s why it’s important one of the biggest pieces of marketing is staying in touch with the clients you had like the ones you’ve already provided services for not forgetting about them and okay you’re done now that you’ll find more clients, it’s equally as important to stay involved And engage with the client you have already solved for even if it’s building a house – and you think well, you know they’re not going to they built the house, they live it and how many houses can you have? Well, they probably have a lot of friends um that will need houses and the most likely person to build a house.
Is somebody either know somebody who has built the house or they don’t want the front themselves. So that’s some of the best spent marketing time and money that you can have and it you can spend – and it’s probably the cheapest, because you’ve already got the relationship you’re not having to build the awareness or build the consideration. They already know you and you’ve already got an ongoing relationship with them and in a building your network and your network is not just you know who I know and you I can call on, but they’re also the people are going to be marketing for you to The public so that you’re building yourself a a marketing network of your very own who hopefully will speak highly of you and you doing work for you, okay, I think that’s something that most architects have is past clients and Givi.
Can you give me some examples of how architects can keep in contact with past clients right uh? Well, you know just checking in say. Okay, if anything needs work, anything needs to be revisited. That’s always it’s a given, but then you can also be bringing more information. So information is power and it it makes you look more and more like an expert so for schools there may be some innovation so or change in codes.
They not may not be aware of a DA compliance. I look like that’s going to change again in the future, but what it does change, that’s an opportunity to go back to all your previous clients say: hey just want to. Let you know about the new changes in a DA rules right begin, so you’re not you’re, not fishing for business as much as you are notifying them of innovation and changes in the industry, so you’re adding value without they have.
You had to pay you for that, but you’re, just really in your own line, your marketing right, there’s, if the opportunity does it right, it’s a chance. Actually, it’s just a chance to have a conversation with them again and add them once again. Look to you as the expert who solved my problem in the past and is letting me know, it’s done me a really big favor of bringing me up to date on some other specific issues.
So you know, innovation is all just letting you know about some other work that you’ve done. Hey just learn the lectures you so use. Excuse me show you some other schools that I’ve worked on and just checking to see. You know if and in you what, if people are happy with you, they’re always going to be happy to refer you you can also, I hate, let me know, and if you know any other, you know principals or school board members or if it comes up in Conversation, I would really appreciate it if you could pass along my name and you need to leave in the stack of business cards.
You may throw them away, but he’ll like remember, or she will remember that you are there seeking their help and if you’ve helped, then people are going to want to help you back. You know I really like that, because I know that a lot of us struggle with, for instance, when we want to reach out to people we want to try to drum up work. It often feels like we’re approaching it from a position of weakness because it feels like we have the need it feels like.
We need the work and there’s almost a little bit of desperation there. So we lack confidence when we make those calls, but I like the way that you’re approaching a cow because then it gives me some ammunition. I can call – and it’s not just hey, I need some work. It’s hey, I’m just checking in, and I want to see how it’s going and hey there’s some changes happen with the new year. I wanted to make you aware of you know what you’re going to be looking at for the next year and sounds sounds like a very effective way to do it yeah.
So it is an easier approach. Right, I mean people like to work with people they like and if you just take the approach that you know, I’m just here to find people I like and stay in touch with the people. I like you’re, basically marketing without feeling like your hard selling or being desperate, you’re, basically building your network and you would hope they’re almost like your friends right. You know – maybe that’s going too far, but I don’t think so because, like I said people like to work with people, they like so that’s a great take away.
So I’m going to challenge any of our audience members who out there wondering how they can apply. Some of this to their firm into their business map out a day, take out your list of old old contacts and just start dialing the phone and just say hey. It’s me just checking in see how you’re going so that’s a way to do it so and if you do that drop me an email or drop Kyle a little a note, so we can know that you got something valuable out of this conversation.
We’d really appreciate that Kyle we’ve so far we talked about two of the seas and one of the peas. Can you run us through the rest? Oh absolutely to the seas, will appease the other sea is the competition right? Ideally, you want to go a place where the competition isn’t, so, if you can so one of the things I think about – and you know I’ve mentioned this to you before – I worked as my very first job in any architecture.
Firm was basically a marketing intern for the summer, for this, a person firm and what they were doing was they were trying to build their practice of building schools as that’s the sample. I was focusing on earlier. It’s because I focused on the before what we found was why state is. This is an Austin Texas. I would need worship, Texas, school architecture, and there are a lot of Architects in in Austin and when you’re looking to do, schools in and around you near into Austin you’ve got a lot of competition, but what we found it’s like.
Okay, when you start, you know doing a 200-mile radius around Austin and start. You know, let’s stop thinking about the University of Texas and the high schools in Austin, but what about Dripping Springs or trainer? Or these places that you know there aren’t any architects and people? Don’t consider architects very often or talk with them very often the competition is less. So if you can decide you know, I do schools and I want to do them in in smaller areas.
I’m not going to focus on universities going to focus on junior colleges. Suddenly you are narrowing your competitive space that you’re playing in and you’re also limiting the amount of work you’re having to you and you get to target yourself in a place that you might have be doing from a position of strength as opposed to up against. So many other important competitors that might have bigger advantages than you so figuring out the competition and – and you know how you’re going to be different right, it’s all about differentiation, so we talked about and once again all of this is symbiotic all right.
That’s all it all looks together right. This is the strategic part. I’m talking about is that they, the customer, the company, the product and the competition, define greatly. It is what you’re going to do an example I like to use a lot is a visual washing liquid um. You know it back in the day there was, you know, joy and Palmolive. He said you may remember some of the old advertising around us joy cleans right down to shine Palmolive mad you’re, sucking it what dishwashing liquid! Oh it’s mild.
Yes, it softens your hand. Softens hands, you know, needs a clean, shine, um. What’s another one. I don’t know if something else, but people were you know, so Procter gamble is trying to think of okay. We got to develop a new dishwashing liquid in this space and we asked consumers. What is it that’s important to you? Well, you know shiny dish and soft hands or important to me and so they’re saying.
Well, maybe we developed something that you know softens hands, but there’s really somebody already doing that. Let’s do some testing, so they went into kitchens and literally read people wash dishes and they were filming it and they would come back in Cincinnati the locations and read these films and some of they kept seeing over and over again was the person put the dishes In and they would put their hands into the water to wash the dishes and they would have this look on their face like uh in they kept saying what is that uh and they started asking the question: what does that scowl? You have with your face.
It’s like I hate going into the grease. Oh the grease, so I get back there. Scientists say hey: can we formulate something that cuts through grease? Why sure we’ve had it a long time? Just nobody ever told us, they wanted it all right, and so they developed Dawn dishwashing liquid, which, which is really is a sentence tone. You know very innate in boring, but in his face of dishwashing liquid dawn is a relative baby compared to each other grant dawn.
Katyn, and probably in the early 80s, some of these other brands have been around for 50, it Burt since the 50s and 40s, but in one year dawn became the number one selling dishwashing liquid in the world because of that differentiation, finding the customer need. That was unspoken that nobody else was uh solving, for they made a product based on those needs in the competition and what they were capable of doing that broke through the market, because nobody had really even thought about it.
So those are the things I’m talking about. They also look together the other piece, okay, placement: where are you going to sell this thing? Um, that’s made it baby seem obvious, but I would say: look at books right. Twenty years ago you sold them in a store. You don’t see bookstores very often, because somebody innovated and sold them online change the whole of spectrum of the business and suddenly you almost have to choose that blog, but because they chose that blog.
That’s what made Amazon a monster right because they were the first to realize we can sell through this blog that nobody’s even thinking about right now. So that’s another big strategic decision, which also said there can be selling to the the smartest people who read the most books because they’re going to be the ones online first right and they they built themselves to do that better than anybody else.
By building the warehouses. They have throughout the nation that they can give you gitche books so quickly, but they had to be able to make a decision. Our company can do that. We’re going to build ourselves to be able to do that, so the blog is important. Now, architects, you know, I I don’t know, maybe some how we can do it virtually well, maybe you know we consider it whether you’re using BIM or not.
Then it’s it’s not an exact comparison, but I think you get the point I’m trying to make here is that you still need to think about it in terms of how much you deliver differently than others in price. Now my the premium price and my Neiman Marcus or not Walmart you’re, going to have to change your practice to be one or the other and if you’re going to be the premium price, whoever you are, you better be delivering a product, that’s outstanding and if you Give me the low priced guy, you better be doing something that has high volume, I think about.
Like I’m an architect, I can do low pricing. If I have something like a gas station right, it’s going to do multiple versions. So I can repeat it repeat: it repeat, and I can you know, make money off a thinner margin than I would if I’m doing in houses or skyscrapers or something like that. And finally, the last P is promotion and that’s actually what most people think marketing is. When you say marketing, everybody thinks that the advertising, the buy-one-get-one-free the brochure, but all that is it’s just the in promotion, and that is useless.
If you hadn’t done the other three P Reese’s, all the promotion is doing is communicating those things. It’s communication. This is what I do and you’re targeting your promotion to the customer that you want to do it to and you’re talking about the price and all of those things have to be put together. You can’t just throw out an ad, so you know this is why I’m different a a Walmart ad will be different than a Target.
Ad Walmart is all about bottom line. Prices target is about design, it’s still affordable, but they’re, not saying we’re the lowest price right, and because of that, I would say they have two really different experiences: two very different inventory and operations around those things to serve those clients better. Your advertiser is much different. So promotion is key, but you can’t just throw it out there.
It had your promotions, communicating all of the other piece and all the other C’s so that those customers that are out there saying well, I’m I’m that customer I have that need that’s who I’m going to go for right on so there it is. That’s the framework of the strategy and there’s you know every every one of those has implications in terms of how you structure your business, which customers you’re looking for where you important how you’re going to deliver.
But that’s what I mean by it being a strategic endeavor and I think you’d begin to see why I believe that architects naturally are really good about this, because we are so good at think about all the various systems on all the implications that every design decision Now requires in what you have to have done before you make those final decisions in terms of the preparation in terms of programming, it’s very similar to just dealing with different aspects, absolutely Wow.
Well, I have this. So I have this long list, Kyle that I wrote here. I have the three C’s I have company client competition. I have my psi got left one of them out. I have placement price and promotion place, price, product and product, of course, because you talk about that with the sees the product. Okay, so going upon, you know just what you what you explained about this framework here. I know for a fact that most people think of marketing as the last step, when we think of marketing, we think promotion to us.
I think that’s what marketing is, but now looking at this list, I’m seeing here that the bulk of the work and the bulk of the effort and the bulk of the reward almost is put into these one. Two three four five six steps before we ever even get to the promotion. That’s absolutely right! That’s where that’s my point is that people think of marketing as some sort of afterthought you know, let’s throw together something to let people know we do work out there as opposed to the final communication of really who I am and what I’m doing strategically to find The right you can you’ve got to find the right corner.
You can’t find a client, you got to find right clients and you have to develop yourself to be able to serve them, and so your promotion is much than anything else. Let’s just say you know why? Don’t we come see me but come see me if you want this and you’re one of these kind of people and have this need, and that also might determine where your promotion is going to be like. You may find that your promotion is sitting in a PTA meeting telling people about.
You know how to make homes more sustainable right and you may not need an ad, but the audience might be sitting right there and your ability to speak and communicate may be all you need, alright, so buying an ad. You know great if it’s an ad in the right place, speaking the right person at the right time, so it’s just one one one, one small part of it, there’s so much more excellent! Well Carly! I really appreciate everything you’ve shared with us today.
I think this is a lot of really good inform so that we can implement and in the second half of our interview next episode, I know you’re going to start to talk about what happens next. So we have the promotion and then we’re going to move into the funnel the pipeline and then how you, how you turn those leads. So this is sort of like lead generation, next episode, just to give them a little hint for what we have to expect.
You’re going to tell us how to turn those people into buyers and clock solutely good in rating fans. I like that even better. Well, thanks for being on the show thanks, Enoch pleasure, okay, dr. This has actually been something that has been on my mind for, like the last week and a half So this weekend I was on. I was reading tons of blogs. I’ve just wanted to like first figure out.
Okay, like I already know, a lot of different ways and strategy to create passive income, But I was like there’s got to be other ways that I’m missing, So I always like to look out and see like okay in five ten years from now. Okay Is what I’m doing today going to get me to the point where I want to be in five to ten years and if it’s not, Then I like to readjust sorry situate and then just kind of move forward from there.
Okay, so like actually one of my mentors, he had this really good comment that I’ve always remembered I’ve always really liked, and it was in in five years or 10 years or 20 years or whatever. It is. Okay, no matter what There’s one truth and you’re going to be in ten years, You’re going to be ten years older, Okay, so doesn’t matter like what you do you’re always going to be ten years older, So it really depends on what you do today.
This is going to change the course of where you’re going to be in ten years from now So passive income or residual income. Basically, a quick explanation. Definition is you’re, not trading time for money. Right, Like you, obviously got to go put in some hours and some work to actually get to that point where you’re creating passive income. But it’s something we’re like you: can do the work once: okay, it or invest the money once and then you’re paid out long-term Over a longer period of time.
So I was just kind of like thinking about that. I’m just like okay. What like, what number, what I have to get to, if, like I, was living my dream lifestyle? How can I go through and create passive income to get to that point, and the thing is guys with this: This is not a get-rich-quick. This is more of the long-term and, if you’re, slowly, building like if each year, you add another five hundred dollars or even a thousand dollars of passive income to your Life, then think about that.
If you’re doing a thousand dollars every single year, it’s really not that much, But after ten years, you’re having ten thousand dollars per month of passive income coming in. So at that point honestly, like I mean that’s a six-figure income, You can literally quit your job. You can do what you really love, And so that’s what I like kind of mentality that I like to think of like Okay. What’s that number I need to get to and what are the things that I need to do to be able to get to that passive income Number that I can just live a completely carefree life.
They don’t have to worry about. You know financial things and money. Coming in and I could just do what I love right like you – can go through and start a new business, you could go and you know have a passion or hobby or any Of that stuff. So just a couple of things that just a couple of examples of different passive income. So one thing like you hear there is the term residual income. One thing that I think of always is network marketing, multi-level marketing.
So you’ve got like the big companies like Amway Nu Skin, There’s a tons of other ones out there, which I don’t you know. I don’t necessarily focus on that, But another method is going through and investing in real estate, so it could be residential real estate. It could be commercial real estate, It could be, you know, storage units, It could be billboards where you go through and let’s say you go and buy a single-family home Right or even in a multi-family home, and you pay.
You know – Let’s say it’s a $ 200,000 home And your mortgage on that is, let’s say, a thousand bucks and you’re able to get fifteen to eighteen hundred dollars a month. Rent Then you’re making the difference Right So like no matter what you’re doing You’re, making five to eight hundred dollars and obviously a lot of us can, you know Not a lot, but some of that’s going to go towards taxes. Some of it’s going to go towards like repairs and upgrades and just keepin kind of like all that property management stuff going on.
But you know you’re, making a good five hundred dollars of passive income that you’re making that only because you’ve Invested that money. Now, as I was thinking about all this stuff, One key concept I was thinking was like one: Not everyone’s got. You know 100 200 thousand dollars to go, throw into real estate And, yes, you can go through and you can get started with no money down. There’s a lot of different like plans and strategies, but I was trying to figure out like things that you can get started with with very little money or even started with with no money But might be more of a time.
Investment, because pretty much what I’ve learned is everything in life. You either get there faster via money or it’s going to take a little bit of time of your personal time, your sweat equity of going through and investing that time into Some sort of business. To get that investment get that return on that investment Right, So I’ve got real estate. You’ve got kind of like that network marketing.
There’s a I was reading some blah. They were talking about peer-to-peer lending, which I don’t know, I’m not a huge fan on that. I’m probably kind of more of a skeptic on that, but there’s a site that they talked about. It’s called Lending Club calm, so you guys can go check that out. I actually didn’t go check that out, but on some of the sites I was reading, they said you can get about a six to ten percent return on your money and You can invest as little as a few hundred dollars or even a thousand bucks.
So if you got kind of got less money and you want to go through and go do that route, Then obviously that’s something you can go through and make happen also investing in stocks. But one thing guys: I want to share with you guys What I what I think that I want to go through and continue to grow and continue to do and Creating that passive income for my life and something that, like in five to ten years, It’s still Going to benefit me – and I don’t have to have the high cost of even property tax like real estate or you know It’s going to be something that can serve me for years to come and that is going through and continuing one To build.
My youtube blog. So right here that you guys are reading and then second I’m thinking about starting a blog to go through and have similar content that I like share on the blog or Share on my youtube blog, But put it on the blog. Because sometimes people like to read articles other people just more like to read or like to look at pictures and so kind of having those two aspects to be able to go through And make money and grow my email list, Okay, Cuz an email list – is actually Something that can create a lot of passive income Where you go through.
You start build an email list. If you get a thousand people on that email list And you’ve got a product, you got your own products. You’ve got affiliate products, So affiliate product is basically someone else’s products, but they’ll pay you a twenty-five to fifty to seventy-five percent commission to go through and promote their product, which is kind of nice, because You don’t have to worry about the product development and their sites.
Like Commission Junction Clickbank, where there’s tons of products in all these different markets that you can go through and promote now the reason why I, like a blog and I like a YouTube blog so much this goes back to when I was first getting into old digital Marketing space and I Started up a dental website and promote that dental website. I started a dental YouTube blog Okay and this is dead YouTube blog.
I was going through and targeting keywords like dental implants, teeth, whitening, cost of dental implants. Like all these different keywords – and The idea was to have people find my articles because they were searching on YouTube or Google or something like that, find the articles, and then they would eventually go to my blog now. The wonderful thing about this is unlike a Facebook, post or even an Instagram post, which those are both great platforms to go through and build a following on, but You make that Instagram post and three days later, It’s so deep in the newsfeed that it’s really not Going to benefit you, Okay, Whereas if you go through and make a youtube article just like this one or if you make a blog and you have a blog Post and you’re targeting specific keywords So like, for example, this one: how to create passive income for dummies And 20:18, Then that’s something that people are going to actually type in the search engine: Okay And then in five years, ten years and all that stuff.
From now. If it’s ranking in the search engine, People are still going to find that Okay, so that is Passive income that you go through and you’re able to make. So you go through that, basically is an asset that you have That absolutely never dies. Okay, so like, unlike I kind of call that virtual real estate right So you’ve got a blog post, which is kind of like a plot of land. Okay, that you own or a YouTube articles like another little plot of land that you own And if you guys put ads on it or if you go through – and you have you know, An opt-in to your email list and you’re selling other products.
These are just different little ways to go through and monetize this following and this blog that you’re creating And remember guys, like you got to think a long term Right. So many people get into it and they’re like I didn’t make money the first month. I didn’t make money the second month the third month and they just kind of quit, Whereas like if, over the course of a year, You could just make an extra 500 bucks a month.
You grow that 500 bucks a month. That’s six thousand dollars for the year right. That’s pretty nice! That’s like that is a that’s a hefty car payment right there, five hundred dollars a month. Okay! So that’s the way you just kind of got to think about this passive income and these different strategies, where you don’t have to have a Ton of money to go through and invest into real estate. But if you put in the sweat equity, the labor Go through and figure out, learn a skill like how to go through and start and grow a YouTube Channel how to go through and start and grow a blog.
How to go through and start building an email list and sell Affiliate products just different things like that, there’s so much free material all over the internet on how to start a blog, how to start a YouTube blog, how to start an Email list how to go Through and promote Affiliates products, because a lot of times the product owners, if you are an affiliate, They have a ton of free, coaching and free training just to give you because they want you to promote their own products right.
So It’s a great way to go through, create a article how to whatever okay and then five years down the road, if someone’s looking to go through and how to create passive income or how to Run a Facebook ad or how to do whatever they’re going to See that same article that you ranked So many years pass like I’ve got articles that I put up in January of this year, because that’s when I started really getting serious with my youtube blog and now they’ve got about 30,000 views, whereas that first day or those First, two days, They maybe only got like a hundred – maybe two hundred views.
Okay, So it’s just all that attention that builds up and you’re able to go through and create passive income. In the last six months, I’ve been able to grow this YouTube blog to making about twelve hundred dollars a month, a passive income. So Just think about it. I mean obviously that’s a little bit quicker than most people, because I’ve got somewhat small Channel. Still It’s about 8,000 subscribers, twelve hundred dollars a month, Whereas I know other people who have bigger blogs than I do like I’ve got.
A friend he’s got a blog with 300,000 subscribers and he’s only making about three thousand dollars in passive income, and that’s because the audience is just different right, so He’s going after an audience That is just always on YouTube and they’re, just kind of like read it Seen all these different ads, Whereas, like the audience that I target, is more business owners. You know real estate agents is people that are a little bit higher quality Of value to YouTube and to advertise when they’re going through and displaying their ads.
So, anyway, guys hoping this was helpful as far as like some different ways to go through And create passive income for your life and just think of that long-term mindset. Okay in five years in ten years, in like 15 years, What can you do? This may be adding $ 100 a month, a passive income to your life, So you’re adding $ 100 a passive income every single month by the end of the year after 12 months, You’re at 1200 dollars a month, a passive income.
Okay and yes, it’s not completely replacing your full-time job right now, But give it a couple years, give it three to five years and that completely replaces your full-time income, where, if you wanted to quit your job and focus a hundred percent full on on, You know, Creating a YouTube blog or creating a blog or any of these different things You go through, create that passive income and then the money you’re making from that you can go through and invest into real estate.
You can invest into stocks. You can invest in just a bunch of different things, But the key is you just got to start small, You got to start somewhere and the best time to start is right now, because you know, if you go down five years from now, Then you’re like man. I should have started creating passive income because believe me at some point, There’s going to be a time in your life or you’re like man.
I wish I had more passive income when you get to be about 50, 55, 60, 65 And you’re thinking about retirement you’re, going to wish that you had started earlier of creating that passive income So that you can go through and support your lifestyle. What, however, grandiose you want it to be, or, however, just small and simple Just be able to have that money coming in, so you don’t ever have to worry about finances ever again.
Alright, so you know you guys, if you guys enjoyed this article and you want me to make more articles about creating passive income and how to Do it with a youtube blog or a blog or different things like that drop, a comment down below, or Even just Kind of even building an email list and I’m more than happy to create more articles of how I’ve gone through and created Different passive income streams for myself and my life, my business and I want to be able to go through and share those with you Guys.

What about it? At 6:30 reporting live you want, and so today, because if you know like one day late, I’m going to show how all those Chad’s out there could have blocked bullets if they just had a staff and this technique, let’s get teaching them chats alright.
So what we’re going to do is we’re going to learn a front facing the boast, a spin, it’s going to be a nice simple spin. Now, if they’re one meet, there is a lot of ways to do figure. Eights of both da Spencer tons of different variations know one way is necessarily better than another way, but I’m going to show you my way of doing the front we’re facing both that spin. So I’m going to try to teach you how to do this without hitting my garage too many times, though, what we’re going to do you’re going to hold it in your right hand, just like this, I’m going to hold a little lower on my body.
You can do it up here. If you want towards your chest, I wouldn’t go any higher than your focus and I wouldn’t go any lower than your hips, but exactly where you’re going to hold it and where you wouldn’t do this spin, it’s up to you and how much space you have. So what you’re going to do is you’re going to let it rotate just like this and let it pass that 180 degree turns by 90 degrees. Do you get just like this? Once you get there you’re going to use that momentum to transfer the post back into your opposite hand, then your re grabbing like that and doing the same steps over and over cuz.
That’s what you want. You want a pattern that you can follow so that you can do this for as long as you want to so one more time, nice and slow. It’s going to look like this you’re going to let it spin past that 180 degrees you’re going to grab it in the other hand, and you’re going to transfer it back over. Just like this, with both hands facing the same direction and then you’re going to do the same thing, and so when you go a little bit fast, it’s going to look something like this now, like I said earlier, there are many different variations of doing figure eights In doing both husbands, you have the other hyper figure.
8. That I think is a little bit faster, that’s more of an attack because more coming down, instead of in front of you, there is tons of these things. So if you have a spin that you want to learn that you’ve seen in Instagram or somewhere, send it to me over discord, send it to me over Instagram and we can try and break that down for you or if you have something that you’ve learned in Your training and want to you know, show it off a little bit in this kill me on this corner.
I love you guys sending me cool pictures or articles of you guys doing training stuff so send them in. I want to check them out. I want to see what you guys got what my ninja crew has speaking of discord once I hit 25,000 subscribers, I have a bunch of awesome stuff coming. I have to give away like I’ve been talking about, but I also have free voice chat for everyone who has been in my discord when I hit 25,000.
So if you do it after I hit 25 thousand subscribers, you maybe might miss out on you know having that automatic voice check, but for all you guys that are in my squad for all of you guys that are in my discord already before I had 25,000 Subscribers, I appreciate you, you guys are a G and because of that, you guys are going to get we’re going to go and chat some time. You’re going to have some discord.
Chats are going to be awesome. I can’t wait hopefully, so you guys can’t wait. Maybe we can play some games together. I’ve been playing Rainbow six, maybe starting up a minecraft server at some point soon. Just you know up to you guys. So if any of that I just shoot links down in the description, I have at the bottom of the description, a link to my discord. So it’s simple you just getting them be like join or accept, or whatever the button says.
But until next time it’s been a good satin bag, I was going to do all that fun like and subscribe, and Belle and Tom, and all that fun stuff in description down below, but until next time my name is DJ more. This is the modern ninja and I’m out you

Ever since I started making YouTube articles – and I told you guys that I spoke Spanish immediately – I have just always had so many questions about. Why how I learned what resources I use to learn, how I learned so fast, why my accent is so prominent.
So many things just regarding the language of Spanish and if you know me, you know that I am in love with speaking Spanish. I think it is such a beautiful language, so much more beautiful than English and I just absolutely fell in love with the culture. The music I readed tons of Spanish TV, I have been to a lot of Spanish concerts and it just fascinates me it’s something I fell in love with years ago and decided to really dedicate myself to completely learning the language all the way through.
So I could be fluent I’m at the time I was working a retail job before I did YouTube. I actually had maybe like six to seven retail jobs, and I can say that fluently speaking the language has helped me so much in the workplace and being able to communicate with other people, and I just find that it’s really cool being bilingual. It was always just a goal of mine that I had that. I wanted to push myself to be really consistent and dedicated on learning to get to that fluency level see how I’m excited to share with you guys my story of how I learned and give you some tips and tricks that can probably help you to learn.
The Spanish language, a little bit quicker and more productively, so be sure you’re subscribed here to my blog, give this article a like. If you’re interested in any more articles of me like fluently speaking Spanish, maybe I can do a Q & A or something I want. This article to be prominently in English, though, because I assume that those who are reading are people who only speak English, who want to learn Spanish if that makes sense, but yeah.
Basically, I started learning whatever I was 16. The title says three months here on this article, because that is the bulk of time that I feel it truly took me to be at the level where I could respond back and forth to someone without like having issues. I could fully understand what they were saying and actually speak back to them without any issues like I said in my retail job and stuff like that, but I know you guys hear me say in my articles all the time.
Oh I’ve been learning for like seven eight years since I was 16 until now. That’s actually dang, that’s actually 11 years, so I’ve been speaking it for a really long time. But at the beginning, when I first dedicated myself and knowing that I wanted to be fluent, I made the most progress in three months. I know some people will say: that’s crazy. It takes a year to learn. It takes six months to learn.
No, you know how much time it takes to learn is the amount of time that you put on yourself if you’re dedicated and you’re consistent, you can learn as quick as you want you, you guys already know all my articles about positivity and the law of attraction And what I believe, if you have a goal – and you have it in your mind – that you’re going to achieve that goal within a certain time frame – you can 100 % do it.
I know that science and there’s so many resources that say online and it’s proven that you have to learn a new language before the age of five. So your memory can retain that information. That’s BS, I’m living proof because I started learning at sixteen. So don’t ever let someone tell you that you are too old to start learning. I think if it’s something that you’re passionate about and you’re willing to invest your time into learning and being consistent, you can totally do it.
So, honestly, the I hope this article is not boring cuz, it’s pretty much just one tip I have for you guys, but then I’ll share my whole story. Basically, the way that I learned so quickly is I fully submerge myself in the Spanish language and I’ve researched articles like this on YouTube. I readed a ton of them and everyone says they went overseas to travel or they went to stay with a family. Who only spoke Spanish, I know a lot of you can’t do that and you’re, probably just here in the United States or wherever you’re reading from, and I totally get that I have a son as well.
I can’t just leave and go to another country, although that is the quickest way to learn. The way that I learned the fastest within three months was that I was dating someone in high school who spoke Spanish. So I asked him to only speak to me in Spanish, no English whatsoever, which is super super tough, but it really pushes you to actually think about your responses and learn words and sentences and phrases, and they call them the jaws in Spanish like little sayings it Pushes you so much to learn quicker? I put every radio station in my car.
I would put it on Spanish music. I would come home from work every single night and when I lived at Cal State San Marcos, I lived in the dorms. Actually, when I went to my first two years of college, I would always come home from work. I remember I’d go to my school classes all day. I would go work out American Eagle. Sometimes I would work at RadioShack. I know right like a really weird job. I worked at RadioShack and American Eagle all simultaneously and was taking credits at school, but I’d give up RadioShack clothes at 9:00, I’d get off at 9 p.
M. And I’d rush home, and I would read my favorite novela until I fell asleep. So I put all of my TV in Spanish, which are like noticias um and, like all TV all movies, like I said novellas I would have all my friends who spoke Spanish speak to me only in Spanish. I took four years of Spanish language in high school. I took the three main: whatever’s are the first like three classes and then the last one was AP Spanish, which is a huge recommendation.
I have to you guys if you really want to learn the language push yourself and enroll in AP Spanish. That was one of the hardest classes I’ve ever taken in my life. It is really really hard and it pushes you so so much like I had to do so much studying and it’s just very tough, because that class is intended for native speakers. So I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone to join that class. That’s also where I really found that my accent developed a lot and whenever I speak Spanish now in public or I meet someone new people always tell me like wow.
Okay, sympathia is in them they. It is because my accent is so prominent in English. That means like what a? What is it like, what an accent you have like? Where are you from anytime? I start speaking Spanish people always ask where I’m from they think I’m from Mexico. That’s because all of my friends who I learned from and people who have been around me – I’ve been surrounded pretty much all my friends speak Spanish in high school and in college, which was really cool, so they all helped me learn so much, but they were all From different cities in Mexico, so that is kind of the accent that I adopted.
I know if you’re from Spain the accent is very different: they use vosotros instead of nosotros like here we would say noes vamos over there. They would say both. What do they say of us? Both mama knows, I think so. Some of it is different. Some of the pronouns and stuff like that are different, but yeah where I learned. I know that I do have a very heavy like Mexican accent and I’m totally fine with that.
I have so much love for Mexico. I’ve been there a few times on vacation with my family, and you guys already know. I love speaking Spanish. I talked about it in my q and A’s all the time food, the people of a culture dancing. You know your girl got a little like, but chef that cumbia in there like I’m all about it. So I think it was because I fell so in love with the Spanish language that I just after I started learning a little bit and I could kind of converse with people I was like.
I got ta go all the way like. I need to know how, to you know, hold a full conversation and there’s been so many times that it’s been so helpful, not only fun to speak but actually helpful. I have helped a few people throughout the years at pharmacies who couldn’t get their medication. There was like a few older and older gentleman and his wife, and they only spoke Spanish and I was able to communicate with the pharmacist for them because he didn’t know Spanish and just certain times where you find that it’s so nice, when you are fluent in A way that you’re able to help others there’s nothing like more fulfilling than that, and now I get to teach my son, which is crazy.
A lot of you ask if I’m teaching Christian, of course glad OPC like duh he’s got to know. If I took all that time to learn, of course, I’m going to be teaching him, I think he’ll have so much more of an advantage in life, no matter as he grows up what profession he chooses. I think knowing a second language is always so beneficial. I think for me to just living here in Southern California. We are so geographically close to Mexico.
That’s so many people here like in the public, speak Spanish. So it’s really cool it’s like kind of always surrounding me, but a lot of you asked how I retain the language and how I don’t lose it, because I don’t. I can’t speak to my family in Spanish. They don’t know anything. I can’t even have like a sentence. Conversation like they really. You know they really don’t know like nothi, so I actually still read tons of Spanish.
It fill me on Twitter. I’m always asking you guys your recommendations for like new novellas and movies in Spanish. My favorites right now are Senor de los cielos and since an OCR parody, so anything with Carmen be ellos. I will read her. She is the queen. She is, and most CC MA she’s my absolute favorite, but I’m just in love with like Spanish movies and shows and that’s how I actually make sure that I don’t lose what I’ve learned, because I worked so hard to be fluent.
I am constantly trying to challenge myself and read stuff in Spanish. I do know how to read and write it as well, which is a bonus of learning in school, because a lot of people when they grow up. I’m not sure if that your parents actually teach you how to write everything out with all of the accent marks and everything. So that’s something I learned in school, so yeah because I took classes in Spanish.
I did learn everything like the proper way. I don’t know a lot of like slang, I mean I know some because of friends. I hung out with over the years, but um. I definitely learned learned it the more like correctly grammatical way, which is fine with me. That’s really good for like the workplace and stuff like that, so I would definitely say take as many classes in Spanish in school that you can also the hardest class I ever took in my life was at Cal State San Marcos.
It was called a Spaniard, butterman linguist. I’ve told this story before, but I walked in the class on the first day and the professor like pulled me aside, and he was like, are you sure, you’re in the right class? Are you sure you want to be here? Like where are you from girl, because I know I look white, but he was like wait, she must be Mexican or, like speak Spanish, be a native speaker because the class was for native speakers only.
I was the only white person in that class. I can admit. I felt very intimidated, but I was so proud of myself that I pushed myself to sign up for that class cuz. That year is that’s when I like, I learned so much in such a quick time period. There was not one word of English spoken in the class. It pushed me so so so much if you are scared to sign up for a class like that or you’re on the cusp of signing up and you think you’re almost ready.
I’m telling you just push yourself and do it. It will be so hard. I had to read in front of the class so many times and it was. It was really really tough, but it helped me so much and everyone in the class. I was intimidated to be in that class, but they all ended up being my friends and throughout this semester they all would give me so much credit and so much props, because they everyone knew that I wasn’t Mexican or anything, and they would just be like damn.
This this white girl in here is trying to be on our level and learn like they had a lot of respect for me, because I have so much respect for their language that I like. I fell in love with it, which is why I dedicated all that time to learning it, so everyone ended up supporting me and stuff, which was cool, but it was hard as hell. So I really recommend that to you guys as well, I also will link down below just some basic books and other things that you can get on Amazon to help you learn.
I just keep these around the house. If I forget how to say a word or a sentence or a phrase, this one here is me palabras this. So there’s over a thousand words in here that you can learn, there’s also courses online. I have never taken like rosetta stone or anything. People always ask me, I think the best way, like I said, is just human interaction, speaking Spanish back and forth learning and then, however much time you’re able to dedicate every day every night get a set of flashcards that tell you really basic stuff words: pronunciations speak.
It a lot, I’m really just surrounding yourself with the language. It’s like my number one, only tip and again, I know a lot of us can’t just like go overseas and like live with a host family and like learn really fast. So if you’re still at home here – and you know your family doesn’t know, like I said – put on the TV in Spanish – put on the news and Spanish every time, you’re in the car just go to Spotify or YouTube and search for songs that are in Spanish.
Anything you can do to where you’re hearing the language as much as you can and then you’re speaking it as much as you can literally being surrounded by. It is the way that you will learn the fastest guaranteed. If you can go on a vacation or you can go somewhere where they only prominently, speak Spanish, that’s even better good for you! I’ve heard of people who learn in like a month which is insane or like who gets so much knowledge in just a few weeks.
You’d, be so surprised how quickly you pick it up when no one around you is speaking a word of English, it’s so much quicker. So for me I was just really blessed to have pretty much all my best friends in high school. They all spoke Spanish. So I just had them only talk to me in Spanish, no English really pushed myself, and I just fully submerged myself in the language and yeah like to this day, I’m so happy.
I learned it’s a huge accomplishment, I’m really proud of myself that I did it and yeah. Everyone always asks me like out of all the languages in the world and sign language like why Spanish, but it’s like Mexico is right here I live in Cali, like I said pretty much. Everyone knows Spanish like why not and again it was so helpful in my retail jobs and stuff like that, and on top of that I just think Spanish is the sexiest most beautiful language ever I don’t know, I’m not sure I will get hit on this because I’m not saying English is like ugly or anything, but in English, if you’re, like I love you and then in Spanish, if you’re like they amyloid, I said I’m more than you’d.
Be that he needs me cortisone, para siempre. I don’t know I feel like it’s so much more beautiful. I don’t know, I think Spanish is just the language of love and I love it. So I just dedicated myself told myself in my mind, I’m dedicating to being fully bilingual. This will happen. I’m going to put in the work I’m going to put in the time that a dedication, if you guys, can put in 30 minutes to an hour every single day, even the more the better but as much time as you put in you’re, going to learn quicker.
The more of a time investment you are able to put in so yeah that is pretty much it I’ll leave some resources down below such as books and other things you guys can listen to. I will list down below my favorite shows and my favorite singers, who actually they have amazing Spanish albums that you guys can listen to so please reference that I would love to have you subscribe here to my blog, give this article a like, if you guys, would Like a full article of me, only speaking Spanish, I don’t know what to do.
I did I’ve done. I’m on my blog, like in the history of my youtube blog and looking back. I want to just remove the articles, to be honest, they’re really embarrassing. I get a little nervous when I speak Spanish because I want to make sure I say everything right and my voice kind of goes up at the end and I sound like I don’t know it just sound a little like. I don’t even know how worried like prep be.
I guess I know I feel, like I’m sounding weird, so I’d love to do another article in Spanish now that I’m more comfortable speaking the language. As the internet is continuously evolving and maturing. We are slowly moving away from conducting our searches in Google, from a string of keywords such as cheap tickets, rodeo Houston to a more natural language in the form of a question such as how much are tickets to the Houston Rodeo in their quest to remain the Number one search engine on the planet and to keep users on their site. Google has multiplied the number of results, which include direct answers to those questions in multiple formats.
Using featured snippets like this one, as well as a box called people also ask, but at the same time, Google has also given website owners the ability to enhance and expand the Google listing results with special features. Obviously, this is not new. You may have already come across results which display star ratings, for example, but now you can also integrate frequently asked question listings, which literally doubles up the size of your results.
Look at this example for one of my clients, who is an electrician and wanted to rank for the keyword, storage heater repair is result went from this to this. Let me show you how it’s done step number one identify the right content page for this to work. You need to identify a page from your website that ranks quite high in Google search engine results. It will not work with your home page. If you don’t know how go to uber suggest com type, your domain name in the search box, then press Enter.
Let’s use my electrician client as an example on the left-hand side, menu click on the top pages option. The top page is likely to be your home page, so ignore it. The pages below that, with the most estimated traffic, are likely to be the best candidates. Click on the view all drop down next to the page, which will show what keywords this page is ranking for. If the page ranks for keywords are positioned between 1 and 10, then you are good to go step.
Number 2 add relevant, frequently asked questions to the content of the page once you’ve identified, which content page is most appropriate, just add a list of ethic use to it. This is the perfect opportunity to enhance your page with more relevant keywords and to answer some of the most common questions. Users may ask if you can’t think of any specific question to add, go to answer the public comm type, your keyword in the search box and click on the got a question button.
This will give you a list of the most popular questions. People ask about this topic to make it easier click on the data option above the graph. The other alternative is to use Google search for your keyword and check the results scroll down and find out. If there is a people, also ask for snippet results. There will be the most popular questions people ask in relation with this keyword. You can expand the box by clicking on the bottom question for more results.
Use these results as inspiration, don’t copy and paste once you’ve got your list. Just add it to your content pages. Like this, or even this, it doesn’t really matter step number 3. Add a structured data to your page, don’t panic! This is easy. Structured data is scored in a specific format written in such a way. That makes it easy for search engines to understand content search engines. Read the code and use it to display search results in a specific and much richer way like our FAQ.
The integration of this piece of code on your website is very easy head over to technical SEO. Comm slash tools, slash schema, markup generator from the drop-down select. The FAQ option, you should see a form with two fields. One is called question and the other is called answer just copy and paste your questions and answer from your content page using these fields to add a question. Simply click on the add question button.
You should see the code being automatically created on the right hand, side of your window once you’re done. Click on the G icon, located right above the code select the option Rech result test. This will open a Google testing page with the code you’ve just created automatically copied in a small window from there you can verify if the code you’ve created is valid, click on test code and your code will be analyzed.
You should now see a detected item called FAQ with a green tick. Next to it confirming your code is good, go back to the schema, markup generator tool and this time click on the blue copy icon. This should copy the code to your clipboard time to move on to step four step. Number four integrate the code to your page. All you need to do now is to copy and paste the structured data in the HTML code of your page, more specifically in what is called the head of the page.
I can’t cover all scenarios here because it would take too long, but if you are using WordPress here is how to do it. Download and install a plugin called header and footer script, locate the page where you’ve added your FAQ and click on edit scroll down. Until you see a box called insert script to head paste your script in there and save your page, every content management system will be different.
So if you are unsure how to add code to the head of the page, just refer to your provider and now for the last step step number five tell Google, the page has been updated. This is optional, but it will speed up the process for this step. You need to have a Google search console profile installed. If haven’t do it today, it’s essential to have, if you’re serious, about your online business and it’s free for those of you.
You do log into your Google search console profile copy. The web address on which you have added your epic use content and the code and paste it in the inspect. Any URL box field then hit the return key. You should see a box with the option. Request, indexing click on the link. This will submit a request to Google for the page to be crawled. Make sure you do this only once and then you’re done. That’s all I have for you today.
We’ve been this process for all your content pages and you will double the size of your presence in Google search results almost overnight. I did this on multiple pages, for one of my clients and some of his listings were updated within 24 hours. The others only took another couple of days. This is a simple technique with huge benefits, one of which, being your website content, showing in the answer.
Snippets of Google, which is used for voice search results, preparing your business for the next generation of search voice. So don’t miss out and start today, if you like this article, please give me a little thumbs up. Otherwise I’ll see you for another tutorial very soon: happy marketing,
