My first tip I’m going to be talking about um content on web sites, and this is a common misnomer that essentially, the customer always seems to think that the web design agency or web designer is going to be doing literally.
Everything for you, including writing. Your own content uploading, your content, finding images for you, whatever else that might entail really and our responsibility is designing and building the framework for your website. And then we give you the tools to be able to add your own content and, that’s not to say that’s, not just a rule that all web design agents use. We, we typically will add some, like you know, a dozen or so page of content to kind of test the platform.
But if you’ve got dozens of products and dozens of pages of content and thousands of images to upload, then the expectation really is on you. As the customer to actually upload your own content, and that’s because you know your products and you know your customers better than we do, and so in many instances it’s better for you to upload your own, your own content. However, it that’s not to say, like I said, that a web designer won’t be prepared to upload your content, but dupree be prepared that that may cost you a little bit more and because it is an extra service and for them to be able to add your Content, as is copywriting and some some some business owners and think that their masters of the Masters of oratory and they can write brilliant prose when actually they hand their content over to a sermon like world that doesn’t really kind of match.
The the core values of the calls to action which are required in order to take a somebody visiting your website and converting them into a customer, but those services such as copywriting, will cost you extra and an end. Fundamentally, is your responsibility to kind of produce? The initial set of content, but between us, hopefully we can kind of upload the content and for you, and I would recommend that if you don’t have time to write your own copy, then, and perhaps you should actually consider employing a specific website.
Copywriter to you can send a brief to give them the pages that you want to create and they’ll do all of the copywriting. For you second thing I just remind you to do is just to ask about your website’s warranty period. Some some web designers are not fussy and they’ll just carry on doing updates until the cows come home, but at the end of the day, web designers are earning money and so what they want to make sure that they or they’ll probably have to deadlines in place.
The first will be when they consider the website to be finished, so they’ve finished the design, finish them and building the framework and they’re waiting for your content. They might consider that to be the first deadline when it’s finished. The second deadline is when it launches. So that’s when you provided all of your copy content and images to them to be uploaded to the site and when the site and goes live.
The website designer may bill you on the first deadline. So you may not consider the website to be finished at that point, but your web designer probably will do and they will be expecting payment and what the way we kind of manage. That process is that when we feel the website is finished, we then can kick in a month-long warranty period, and this encourages our clients to go to the website test.
It upload any content, get back to us with any problems. We’ve worked together and we have a very specific launch date in mind and to get the website live, and it’s just better for the soul, for both the customer and for the web designer to know that you’ve got a go live date and for your website. I’d. Also remind you to em to check what training and support and is included within your package. So it might be a combination of article tutorials, a training manual, PDF training manual, personal, like one to one coaching on how to use your CMS platform and also telephone support.
So just double check with your web developer, what kind of support you’re going to get once your web site goes, live or is finished, depending on which deadlines you’re going to use and tip number four is to you know: don’t assume that your web designer is a Specialist at everything involving computers – I quite like for a long time, whilst we were just a web design agency and that – and we used to get asked a lot of questions about email support and what application is best to do X on their computer.
Or do you know anything about article? Oh, can you help me work? My DSLR and my iphone wont turn on and all those sorts of things your web designer. It’s like a job role. They are a web designer and they just work with things web. If you want to know more about things like social media and email support and article and things like that and your web designer doesn’t do that, then maybe they know somebody they can recommend to you to help with it or you can or go and search for Somebody else, but just remember that your web designer is building your website and they’re not there for everything to do with IT and perhaps they’ll probably like I said, be able to recommend some to you too.
So to summarize, those key points, firstly be prepared to add your own content. Don’t forget this as a bats and setting your own, you know managing your expectations, so, secondly, make sure that you ask about your your websites warranty period. When does your web designer consider the site to be finished, and when do you consider it to be finished so, thirdly, just check what and support you’re going to get from your web designer web.

It’s been a while, since I seen ya, but I got some new stuff to show you. So, let’s get right into this work today we are going to go ahead and create grids inside illustrator, we’re going to convert them into guides, and I’m going to show you how to like, adjust gutters and things like that stuff that you would use if you’re a Web developer and you wan na maybe instead of using Photoshop, maybe you want to use illustrator, so it’s a pretty cool tool and it’s got vector graphics, all that good stuff, so really really popular.
Let’s get right into this first step guys you want to go to file new once you’ve opened up illustrator CC, I’ve got it right here, file new and then for me just for tutorial purposes. I’m going to go to web right here and I’m going to go to common and I’m just going to click, create and you’re going to notice here on the right side before I do that that we’re creating an artboard, it says one artboard here are the width In height just to make sure if you’re not sure and I’m going to go ahead and drop this down to pixel preview mode, just because that’s the way it’s supposed to be for me, cuz, that’s what I like alright here we go.
So we’ve got our nice little artboard opened up and I’m going to zoom out and whoa holy zoomy zoomy. Let’s just get this zoom in a little bit picture. How about something like that? No okay! Well, anyways guys! I will zoom out a bit and yeah we’ll just Center that up alright. So here we go, I’m zooming in a bit and the first thing you want to do, I think for for doing grids and guides and stuff like that, is I create a rectangle.
So I just go over here to the rectangle tool and I create a rectangle around the whole artboard. Just like this, and then when you see I let go you’re going to see that it says in the right side. Here: width and height is 1366. 768. That’s what we’re working with to start so again we’re on the right track here. The next step is, I want to work with 15 pixel margins, or so I think that’s what we’re going to work with.
So I’m going to take the width down from 6 6 to 3 6 or when I do that and I hit Enter you’re going to notice here on the right side and the left side for that matter. There is a slight little yeah, a little bit of a gap there, a little bit of a margin. That is what we’re looking for. Alright continuing on we’re, going to go ahead now and start creating some some grids and some guides here. So the next step here is, you want to go up to our is an object path.
Here we go object path and then we want to go down on path part of me and where is it split into grid? Now we are creating the grid. The next step here guys is you want to make sure that this preview is checked, because you want to see your work as you go now, because this is a web we’re going to be working with columns instead of rows so because it’s web work, its column, Stuff, so if I have one column like I do now, if I hit up you’re going to see here, we got two: now we got three four five etc.
So, let’s just work with four just for the hell of it and again you’ll see the exact. Well, let’s go actually, let’s go down to three, because I wanted to show you with with whole numbers here so again you can adjust a number of columns, which is what we’re looking for and the next step is you want to change the gutter, so the gutter Is the space in between here? So if I up the gutter you’re going to see well that sounded weird.
If I go up to gutter for 15 pixels you’re, going to notice that there are 15 pixels space in between the different boxes, the different grids. That is also what we’re looking here for so again guys. This is how you go ahead and split things into a grid, I’m going to just increase it for the hell of it. Let’s go up and let’s create great 20 pixel gutter. Just to show you guys again, you guys do what you want for your own workflow in your own space, but that’s how you do that now.
If you want to make these into guides, the next step here is you want to go to view so click on View and then down at the bottom you’re going to see guides and then you’re going to see an option that says make guides if you left-click On that bang they go to light blue and the guides are created and if you start creating things inside here, you’re going to notice that if I create a little rectangle, it is going to snap to the guide.
Just like that. So it’s snapping snapping. It wasn’t a good one, so that guys is how you create get grids. That’s how you create guides, that’s how you adjust gutter links and that’s kind of how you work in the web side of things with Adobe Illustrator. Thank you for reading. So, as you can see here, this may only make and I’m sorry this one here and it makes one dollar 78 @ 1 pound 78, but it gets over 15,000 views so cost a blank is quite important. For example, costa blanca has another ten words hidden away here, so let’s just open up. If I click that it should open it out, so we can see the other 10 there you go, so you can see the other words in there. 14,800 of them are Kosta Blanco. Will aid costa blanca la motto is much lower. So the fact is what I would probably do is cost a blanket but still get picked up with we’re. Sorry, I put cost of lankan the matter, but it’ll still pick up Kosta Blanco anyway, because although it’s got the matter, what happens? Is it just sees that bit in the Google search anyway? So I’m not really fussed on that, but if we go back to our YouTube article, we’re now add Kosta, blanker lemaitre Beach 2016 Spade now you can see about all the key words here you see.
I picked up toya Becca already 2016, because I know these are things people looking for. They don’t want articles from five years ago, they’re looking for the latest ones, and here’s a few about Spanish life because obviously got the kids and wife with me. So that’s how you find your keywords and you slop them in not only on their in there, but also in the conversation. So what you want to try and do is put them in here naturally, so I’m could have rewrite this. But it’s difficult for me to talk and rewrite at the same time, but what you want to try and do is say: insert cost the Blanco into this conversation.

What does is talking about the beach in the sense that we’re going to the beach for the day, blah blah blah and ideally in life, says you want to focus on things that make your title stand out and I’m most relevant, make sure you’ve got at least 150 words, and it’s an article almost and the next thing is all your keywords.
Ideally, you do not want to sorry your tags, you don’t want any more than 10, so what I always do once I’ve actually prepared it. I quickly count 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. So I look at that and go okay. That will have to go. Google seem to like 10. I don’t know why it just does, and this is part of the SEO once you’ve done this bit. Just click on the save – you may even put your name in here because I know a lot of people search for my name so once that saved I’ll, just we’ll talk about something else, you’ve got these annotations cards.
Subtitles, let’s go here. We go to the subtitle. One first, with subtitles can closed captions. What you can do is translate it well, firstly, transcribe it into English or whatever language you are doing this article in and then you can get translated into other languages. It’s not going to be perfect, but at the same time the more is translated, the more chance you’ve got of meeting other subscribers, for example.
Here I am in spain. Obviously, I’ve got the entire Latin world that may be interested in Spain and some form. So from that point of view, it is worth translating this from english into spanish into russian, because we have a lot of russian tourists. Norwegian, Dutch, French, because we’re in a tourist area it is worth transcribing. Those google will have a tool for doing that now and I think they actually charge people for doing the translations.
But the main thing is to add new subtitles. You just put it on the side here. So let’s just click your english, united kingdom. I just wait for that to load. So then it will ask you: are you going to upload it? There is software out there can cover that end of the article actually to scram, transcribe and auto-sync, or create a new subtitles or closed caption. So, let’s click on this one transcribe and auto-sync.
This is where I’ll do it automatically? I think this one is the 1i. Normally is great new subtitle or closed caption, so what you have is the article is now going to load and you type the text as you hear it up here on the on the right. So as I speak, let’s find the word with me. Actually speaking so there’s the first bit we are down to the beach today and then all you do is click the plus and just check it in the right space.
So go back a little bit. You should let slide this back and it’s as simple as that. Once you’ve done all the article, you then save it, click, publish and away. You go. That’s something a lot of people don’t do, but it is quite useful for people that are hard of hearing or completely deaf, as well as people wanted to learn. I don’t know the language find it easier with subtitles, so there’s multiple reasons that this is quite a useful tool to use.
So we’ll leave that where it is at the moment and what we want to do is go over to cards because obviously I’m not going to sit and transcribe this entire article. While you SAT reading me so here’s cards, what is a card? So we know this article is about costa blanca LaMotta beach, and what you can do is add cards to it and now a card you can promote a article or playlist another blog. You could add a poll.
A link to an approved website so, like here, says spanish life and tourism. If I click on it, oh look, it’s my alicante, spain blog. It’s already been added to it. That’s a card and all you do. Is you just go ad card article? I playlist. I blog and then all you do, is you go up here? This is where my other blog is, when you load the blog for the main blog page, take the link out of the youtube window at the top, and then what you want to do is just drop it straight in here, then, you just put a custom message And that’s pretty much it and once once it’s in there you can see alicante spain blog and then it comes up with all the information relating to that blog, so that people aware they can go and have a look at it and get more information.
This is another useful way for getting people to hop onto other articles. Are the blogs, etc, etc, but it doesn’t just stop there we’re now going to go over to annotations so with this they’re actually inserted in the timeline, so I’m going to add an annotation. Let’s have a speech bubble type or no. Let’s have a note so we’ll leave that up there put it the shape you want and we’re going to link it to another article.
This article here is the pink lakes in Tribeca, so we can take that pink salt, lake’s silliness. Take that and then we’ll put that as the text. So people can actually click on that and it will take them to that article, which is obviously relevant to what the reading, because they’re, both in the matter toy, bear high area and we want to open in another article because I’m actually want them. To close this article down, but as you can see on the timeline, it’s only at the beginning here, so it’s a certain point.
It will actually switch off. So there is no like to try and let’s turn the audio, try and put it a near the beginning, but be let it go aways. They could click on that and i’ll open up in another window. They don’t actually have to close this one down, but they could all continue through the article and hopefully they’ve already opened it, but you could pull it the end. It could be other stuff relevant as you go along, for example, maybe i’ll well, it did.
I talked about the camper vans here you could put a link willing to camping in Spain or whatever, whatever you’ve got relevant. This is how you interweave your articles with each other, so that they’re all relevant with what you’re doing and make it more experience for the person subscribing and reading your articles, making it more interesting. So we’re just going to apply those changes. So now that is actually saves near the beginning, and if we go to enhancements or something it’s something we need to do on this, that’s pretty much it so we’ll go over to you can do some auto fixes and stuff it youtube can do some weird stuff To your article is now and again, though, as you can see, I’ve now changed to cross the blanket.
I did a cosplayer there, which is the main thing and obviously i’ve got these little bits added into the article. So we save that it’s already been done and we actually want to go and have a look at the article itself. So the article is now playing as you can see, I’ve turned the audio off for obvious reasons. There’s the bit we added earlier and up here on the right: we click on this one. It takes you to the other, candy blog they’re, not obtrusive.
This is the main thing these ads are at you too, but that’s part of getting you revenue, it’s nothing and do about that. But the the main thing is here: people can actually go. Oh I’ll, have a quick look at that and then pull it away out. The way it’s not in their face and the other one is not up there for ages, so you’re giving them more of an experience without actually having to do too much that is going to irritate.
Then you have all these bits and pieces. If I did the caption and translations, then obviously you should be able to see where I closed captions here, you can actually want to set up it’ll, actually give you the option to actually read it with the closed captions on all these things are very useful for Your YouTube blog – and I says you interweave it also you want to link in through your websites and stuff and which I’ll cover in another topic.

This is a question I get time to time: email brands, I kind of talk to them and how do you get them to not say no or reject you in your face? So the format of this article is going to be simple I’ll go over some announcements. You know life is all about trades. So a lot of people expect for free, but you have to keep in mind: it’s not helpful for a brand. Nor are they going to reply to you. Okay, they want money, so we’re going to teach you how to make money. So this is the content at Ipanema connection or referral. You can be yes, your connection. You could be like my friend Bob connected me to this brand or be sneaky enough to go on LinkedIn, go to LinkedIn and find the CEO o find their sales manager find their marketing guru put their name in there.

You have to be familiar with your brand and with your audience likes because here’s the thing – and this is the biggest tip you need to sell them with the money of course, but what makes more sense? You know that was the ethos question I don’t know.
If I’m doing this right, that was the ethos right, the logos or the logic is the money like you can sell them on the pathos that emotion, you know the connection, but you need to sell it logically that your target audience is line up, for example, if They are a supreme if you can say to supreme that you have the exact same demographic as their market. You know their audience and their customers sell them on that.
You have a hundred more of those people. That’s it. You have to line up the fact that you’re Branson approached you. You know Daniel Wellington, the huge read brand, like always damage people because they’re desperate and they want people in their market and they know who they want to target. So if you can go up to a brand and prove to them that they, like you line up in their graphic and they’re, targeting it’s going to help you long term, you don’t just damn a brand to get money and to get free shit.
Ideally, you want to ask for an affiliate code and you want to maybe get the product for free. Of course, if that’s all, for most brands are no custody, sometimes which is okay. You want that affiliate code and you could do this via DMS or an email. I find the same return on investment they’re, both free just literally, if you’re ever going to do this at scale, you need to do it every single day, a hundred people, it’s a numbers game and a lot of people will say.
No, if you want to make affiliate marketing a whole time business, you could and I highly recommend it and that’s the script I follow. I don’t know if you actually don’t want to say this is a script because it won’t freakin work. If you be in paste for every single brand in every single industry, every single industry has different pain, points and different problems. You need to tailor it to that.
So this is not a script. This is going to be your skeleton and just fill the bones muscles and fat, and I don’t even know what’s in a freaking human body, but fill it in to what makes sense for you.
