My Open Source Editing Workflow Using Linux, OBS, Kdenlive, Gimp & Shutter

I’ve been using it for a while. I want to do some more tutorials on it. The problem is, I don’t do a lot of complicated things with kdenlive, as I’ve been a little bit slow to get more tutorials out there. It’s a wonderful article, editor! It’s really easy to use it’s very, very powerful, and I’m going to show you a little bit of like my editing setup and how I do things now, I’m actually using right now, OBS 3 chords, so OBS is part of my workflow.

I’m going to drag it in here, so you can kind of see it if you’re not familiar with OBS. It’s a pretty amazing program. It’s free, it’s cross-platform! So if you’re a Windows user reading, my articles, you go, how do you do your screencast and recording OBS? You can use it in different platforms. Now I have it set up with different views like middle screen, left screen right screen, and then I have three screens without me in it and three screens with me in it with a webcam here.

So I got the webcam at the bottom and because you’re seeing OBS it’s not behind something you’re seeing some recursion of you know infinitely looking down into it. I record all my OBS streams and the Yeti microphone that I have up here been using it for a while. You can pick up Yeti for pretty reasonably priced. Is that the thx model? I think you can find these under $ 100 on eBay. I bought this one slightly used.

He still came in a box that said refurbished, never had a problem with it. I got it won the bid really cheap on eBay for him, so they’re a really high quality camera great for doing these voice recordings – and you know if you want to do YouTube articles having good camera, are having a good microphone really important. The camera is just a standard, logitech, hmm, the name of it C 720. I think you can they’re not expensive, nothing, real special about it and some lighting setup so back to the actually editing and workflow.

So right now this is being recorded with OBS, but we’re going to first go start with a project that wasn’t recorded and it’s one that was done with a series of articles that I took at a Chamber of Commerce event. So I’m going to leave it with all three screens pulled up now something kind of strange about kdenlive when you are out of focus on it and versus when it’s in focus. It has the third window over here.

So I’ll play the little thing that I did here and I’ll show you what I did to create this. So in my preview, clips are still here in the middle, but I drag it. So I have a big high res screen over there to view the the output, so I want to be able to look at it in high res, so I can kind of understand what it’s doing so you know I this was a little car bash event. They did so then we got Marvin there.

I threw with a little title at the bottom and then I cut while he’s talking. So you have the narration here and all these other clips are muted, so we create the whole effect, and what it’s doing here is all the clips are named right in here smells zoom into the middle screen now and the way they had the way they got All these names was – and I just drag them and drop them in. I download all the clips right out of my camera.

I play each clip and figure out which ones which you know, which one that so I had one that’s called bacon beer beer twos. I took pictures of beer cans, the DGA ones. I don’t need a name. I know DJ as my drone article, so I had two different drone shots that I included in this and then I have. I have one I labeled narration and he’s two. They were kind of useless, so they didn’t even get named. They didn’t get dragged into the project and in all you have to do from there drag over the files.

Let them go on top of there and then they’re here and then you can preview them and figure out. Okay. Where do I want to start so I’m going to drag one way over here and I just drag them in and I’m going to go back to the three screen mode. So you can see – and I drag it figure out – okay, where’s it going to start, and then I put that at the bottom tracks. That’s four they’re going to be for the narration part.

So that’s this bottom track that you see here and with the bottom track. That’s the whole narration, then each one of these I drag the mute over to so like I have have this one. The effect is mute and the way you drag effects on there is really easy. You just go over here, mute and it’ll double up a fact. If you want to apply effect twice because at two different ratios or anything like that, that’s easily supporting kdenlive, so I’ve mute all these other top ones across here.

This is the title clip and in a title, clip is just their logo for the chamber of commerce. That we put on top now this is where, when you’re doing the interaction to make sure it kind of, let me put it the three screens, so you can see the preview or I’ll just put it there we go so I wanted the it to fade over Here so it kind of fades in and out and then fades away now, there’s a little trick to doing that when you’re setting up the fades, when you want some of the things to come over the top on there and the way you’re I’m doing that is The dissolve is what I’m doing so.

I did a dissolve, but you have to choose what it interacts with. So it’s interacting with article because article is over the top of the narration article, but on the last part I have it interacting with article one, because I want it to dissolve into that article because they’re at different layers on there. So you got to make sure that so this one dissolves there, this one’s a solitaire, pretty easy to do and then, with the title clips they are – and I didn’t name this one because there’s only one but there’s multiple title clips, where I want to put an Overlay things on there, you just take and drag a PNG in here.

Woofster not drag it because it doesn’t support drag-and-drop. But you add, image find the PNG which I threw in there. Their logo is actually a PNG and her website just downloaded it and throw it in there, but you can use any other tools to create and manipulate the photos, drag the put the PNG in air and then to give it some contrast. I just drew a rectangle with the rectangle tool up here, so you can just add a rectangle and then you can set the color of the rectangle and the Alpha blend on it.

So I didn’t want a solid rectangle. I wanted a semi-transparent and then I wanted it underneath, so you can go up here to the top where it says, Z, index and hit down, and it puts it at the very bottom. So let me cancels, I don’t really want to make that change to this. So it’s pretty straightforward and then you just drag a few fades in here. So I fade between all the different cuts as it goes through and Marvin.

You know, Nick isn’t doing the narration at the bottom and when he mentioned something. So I listen to the narration and where he mentions things I at that point a shot of it, so he talks about the beer available at this event, so we cut to the beer scene. You know other time, it’s when he’s not seeing anything. That’s visually relevant! He’s talking with his hands a little bit then I’ll reference back to the drone shot and that’s what these are here.

So I can reference the shots. I got there. He mentions word bacon, so I reference to the bacon shot here. So it’s pretty straightforward when I’m doing the editing – and you know it’s not not real complicated, so I haven’t unloaded tutorials, it looks a little bit complicated of all. She was dragging across time lines and doing there. I don’t really do much more than some dissolve fades and things like that’s just to get the point across because you know there’s plain people are really good at editing.

It really talented and they’re do so amazing stuff. I just really haven’t taken the time to do that, because, as long as I get my YouTube articles done I’ve kind of stopping okay, that’s good enough for now. Maybe I learned some advanced stuff later now. I’ll show you a little bit of how we do the OBS ones. So when we do the OBS ones and say no, but I can save any changes on here. You’ll notice that the article is split, then the reason why and if you can see this it says offset 5.

There is a 5 frame delay to get the audio synched up with this, and the way you do that it’s actually pretty easy. Someone start a new project and show you what this and the five frame delay is because I run a 30 frames a second and when I record with OBS, it seems to cut the audio I’ve played with the delay settings inside of OBS didn’t work. It’s not it. I it’s easier to split. It split the audio so when I first get something done in OBS, a my OBS folder here, where it records things well drag see which articles this one yeah, it’s one of you, so I drag it here.

I think you right-click on the article and you’re going to say, split audio and then it’s quicker. If I do, I use the mouse and control the zoom in all the way. However, you want to zoom in it doesn’t matter and I’m going to ungroup the clips. So they’re now two separate entities and then I count frames 5 frames over just drag this and I know it’s a 5 frame upset. Now that’s going to vary based on your system, your setup, your computer, but this is how you split the audio out.

If you need to for OBS, because it’s annoying, if the voice isn’t synced up with what I’m doing, that’s that’s a weird thing like reading someone talk but the audio it’s. It is really annoying. I’ve accidentally done it a couple times tonight publish articles. So I try to be very conscious and do this so once I have this and then you select the clips again hold the control key, just like both scripts and then I go ahead and group the clip back together.

Now the reason you group it is because I’m going to start slicing and dicing in here, so I go to the cut tool and I’m going to slice out the beginning doesn’t say nothing. I just usually let it you know, start scrolling and get myself composed and start playing a article but other times there may be another clip you go. I don’t want this in here, so you take that out. If I didn’t have it grouped, I would be happen to line up and drag this, especially if I did something like this and put another article in between or anything like that, you want to make sure that this stays aligned.

That’s, why did the grouping of the clips? So it’s really straightforward for editing like that and most of the time when I’m doing these tutorial articles, you know on firewalls or anything like that, where I’m using OBS as a screen capture. I just go in here and clip out things that are irrelevant: I’ve, readed the peeks and say. Okay, can I cut this out if I really paused her um, it’s one of those things like okay.

There’s got to take this part out now. Another thing I do maybe notice, maybe you don’t – I leave long pauses when I screw up and then I cut it out and try to remember where I left off and I think I get it pretty accurate, but I part of the quality testing I’m doing is Going through here and making sure that okay, is that good or not like okay, I screw that up. I said this wrong, so I’ll leave a long pause, so I don’t have to start the article over and that’s how I know.

That’s the Edit point. The other option is going through and writing down the minutes and seconds. So when I did something the hardest part about that is, when you start clipping things out of beginning you’ve, now offset the minutes at the end, so kind of my recording tip I do screw up. I don’t just rip these well. Sometimes I do. If I get lucky rip them in one set, without any pauses, without any stopping without any breaks but a lot of times, but there’s pauses, there’s breaks, there’s me pausing to make sure I pull up a screen off to the other side and look at the specs.

I sometimes put a couple notes if I could have to read detailed specs or like a CV, vulnerability or some some really specific detail that I want to make sure I’m accurate on how long she pause, and I got my phone in front of me and I Look at the phone read the number again and I just leave a pause in there. That way. You know we cut out the pause cut out me looking at the phone and keep the article going also a few sneeze, or something like that.

This is helpful. Just leave a long pause makes it easy to find in the article – and I know, there’s at least one long pause towards the end here. I think in this one. No, maybe not, but I just look for those that way. You can just quickly find the spot that you paused and cut it out for editing without having to start the whole project over. So that’s kind of the basics for how I get the article done, how to beat the article recording nothing real, complicated there.

The next thing we do is I’m going to grab a screenshot of things to build. My thumbnails, because in YouTube is important to build good thumbnails, because you want them to be contextually important, not just randomly generated. Cuz YouTube will pick a frame and you know it didn’t let you choose, but that’s not the best way to do it, and I used Photoshop for the longest time today and I’m still not a big fan of GIMP.

But I got good enough at GIMP in order to make this happen, so I bust up my trusty screenshot tool. Let me pull it up, put it over to the right window here and I grab a screenshot of whatever we’re doing so I’ll pull these up. So this is just a screen grab from it. So what I’m adding – and I mean put it back to three screen frame – real quick. So too I say: okay, maybe I want that screen. You’ll see it over here on the right and then I just use the screenshot tool, and I have it set on timer on purpose.

I’ll show you why and now that has grabbed a screenshot. All of that and then I can quickly edit the screenshot. If I need to do something in here, like you know, put an arrow or something things like that, this is now the first piece of it, so I grab screenshot now the other time. The screenshot tool is really handy and, and the reason it’s not a countdown as if I have to show you a menu for something.

So if I wanted to show you the control menu here, we are going to go ahead and grab a screenshot, and I want to grab it of this enter and a delay reaction of the reason I have it set to a two. Second, timer is so then I can grab a screen grab of something like a menu or a context. Menu just have to help some websites where I want to show something in motion so to speak, and you hold it open to give you the idea of that.

It’s there so that’s kind of the reason for the delay. All the other things is so the mouse over when you do drag it over, doesn’t get kicked off, and that can be a pain in about two. Like I mouse over on a YouTube ad, where you get the tile, I only want to screenshot to the YouTube article in stead of the little the play button and things like that. So, by doing it and letting it fade for two seconds, it’ll fade out the tools on there now, the other way I do this is and grab a window and drag it over here is you know, needing logos for things and stuff like that, so Google logo And we just do a quick image search.

So if I’m talking about a company, I can just grab their logo from them this one’s animated. I don’t want an animated one and I can either use a screen grab or we’re going to show you how I do this in GIMP. So let’s open up GIMP real quick. So I pretty much don’t use GIMP for anything about this. So here’s the clip I made for that a citroen research, article and everything’s just a series of layers, so I don’t touch these top layers that I have in here.

There make sure the webcam is out of the way these top layers up here. I don’t really mess with so we’re going to go ahead with this one. I see it says: citron exposés, that’s the text layer. This is my logo. This is a bottom template and then here’s the clipboard one clipboard. So we’re going to purge that clipboard purge that clipboard and if we want to edit the text I just go down here. My article editing workflow will actually do this article.

Why not? Well, I can’t really give you the screen grab for it. Well, I could do some things I’ll do a couple things here, give you an idea. So my using Linux and Cayden live. I got small things right, see Linux. We need some commas in here Linux and comma kdenlive kind of a gimp imma was the screen tool. Shudder so well I’ll finish this, I’m just going to make sure you guys have an idea now, along the way it keeps a crash, doesn’t seem to be pretty stable, but it doesn’t crash often so I saved that now KJ.

I want to put more things in here, so we’re actually going to downsize the text a little bit like this and put the word using here then I’ll go down the bottom using git and shutter. I pretty much the tools I use for almost all my articles and hang up. We got a head OBS in here, OBS put a comma alright. Now a Vinci. Now I got ta go pull the logos for those things I kind of like. I said I like having logos on there.

This is where it gets pretty easy for doing this and GIMP, and normally I do this on my split screen. Tiles. Keep it all in one screen for you, but let’s say we want a few kdenlive logo getting live view image and it’s a PNG file. You can see here so we’re just going to go copy image go over here to get edit paste as new layer. Simple really easy to do now. This is where it gets a little confusing.

Normally I’m used to Photoshop, where I can just grab bars around it and resize it. You have to use the scaling tool and GIMP and then, by default the scaling tool isn’t synched. So I want to synced, so if I do scale it it, I don’t want to screw up the logo like that. So I’m going to do this. Do this and then I can adjust and scale it. So it doesn’t skew the logo into some unusual sides and I click scale and away we go.

Then I go back over to the this tool. Then I can manipulate it move it around wherever I want. So you know I’m just pasting each one as a new layer, so I don’t have to download it off the internet or do you think that which is actually pretty handy, so I can just go here now: we’re going to have the OBS logo like this one. It says open broadcast software copy image, edit paste as new layer. Oh someone knows a shortcut key to paste this new layer.

Let me know, because I see how it there ctrl shift V pastes it, but it doesn’t do it as a new layer doesn’t do what I wanted to do so yeah that so one of those little details, if you know some shortcuts, if I’m doing something you Know, hey Tom there’s a better way like I said, I’m still, learning GIMP and still getting better at it. I want to keep everything in Linux much as I can because Photoshop real easy to do this, and I would probably I could do things so much faster in Photoshop and I’m putting some effort in here to learn kemp.

So then we get the OBS logo shutter logo, but you get the idea that you go through here and then that’s how I create the thumbnails now the other step, that’s going in their face. This new layer move this down here. The other step is exporting it now. It saves it in a format. That’s a GIMP format, so you’re not able to do that, and I don’t save my thumbnails. Like you see, if you see the name at the top here, it’s YouTube.

2017 template GIMP dot. Xcf! That’s the GIMP format file for that it’s 1280 by 720, which was the recommended, as I understand for 2017 size for a thumbnail for YouTube, and so when I’m done, I export it and I title it workflow for editing in Linux, and I just dropped that to My data drive, I have a bunch of different folders and things like that, but I drop it right to the data drive and hit export yep at standard PNG format when it’s done and then when I do my Youtube upload I go through and you know render To article export the article to the article folder and then this I don’t really keep a lot of my.

I don’t keep any of the templates like once I edit this and I edit and save over again. I keep the output results because they’re not that important. I rarely go back to a thumbnail and go oh man. I you know want to redo this thumbnail, so I’m not big on CV to save all of them. Then I realized I just had piles and piles of everything, and I’m like this is useless. The same with the articles right now, I’m only keeping about 6 months of source, so the source material that went into it unless it was a special project that I think is worth saving most of my articles.

I do not keep the source for for lack of knowing what to do it that I you was archiving it at. You know you’re you’re, creating terabytes and terabytes a day. I don’t know it’s like. I could. You know I’m very big on redundancy. So if I’m going to save it, I save it everywhere. I make double copies and then, when you have like 9 terabytes double copied, you’re like I now have a harddrive collection and what I’m going to do with all this source footage.

I save only the output footage of and one of the reasons. Why is, for example, when I do my larger projects with clients that go on, for you know maybe a few months well like a big wiring job we end up with, and it’s funny things we’re producing a huge volume of data with all the time-lapse cameras. But it’s not only useful, we just shoot it all, and then I organize it all and say: what’s worth keeping and the rest of it, you can’t scrap.

Sometimes the camera looked at nothing for a long time or it just was not interesting. It wasn’t worth adding to the article, so I come back to it and I go yeah. This isn’t uh. This isn’t really worth keeping. So that was a lot of what my source footage would be, so yeah hardly became worth duplicating. All of that now a little piece of my workflow, though that is going on actively because of the fact that some of these projects take weeks to complete all of my article folder on my local computer, is synced up with sync thing to our rate array.

Just for all my articles, so even as I save this, it’s resyncing as I render it out any of these articles – it’s resyncing it on there as I download cards. It gives me confidence because a lot of people have done this, where they download a card to the computer and they go alright. Now I’m going to use this cardigan somewhere in between before you get around to editing before you before you get to back up the hard drive got here in computer.

Now, you don’t have either you’re like crap. I lost it all. So in fear of that I win, you know because my computer’s, it could be a single point of failure. It’s just constantly, as my computer’s running syncing everything to the server, so I don’t have to think about it. So I don’t mind dumping a card and reusing it, and I have several cards. I try to hold on to them until they’re edited, but sometimes I got more stuff to shoot and it’s going on for weeks.

So that’s kind of the general editing workflow for this and then when I’m done, I just you know upload it to YouTube, which I don’t think. I need to show you how to do that that part’s, the easiest part of all this, but you can see quickly. You can build these little templates and this is all open source. This is all you know: kdenlive gimp and shutter running I’m running this on academia, but you can run this on a bun too or most any other Linux distribution of your choice and it’ll run pretty smooth on there.

I’ve really been happy with how it works in kdenlive or KDE neon and kdenlive. The themes seem to work really good together and it’s been just smoothest, so the latest iterations of Keaton live have become very, very stable. Like the software, all the editing work, I used to be like a religious, a verse, a verse clicking save all the time, and I don’t have to seem to do that. It is often because it just doesn’t crash like it used to but uh.

That’s it for kind of my workflow and how I get things done. I guess I could show. I got another one of how to clean up audio in audacity, I’m not going to get deep into audacity in this article. I have another article already covered doing some of the audio cleanup, but if you have a good microphone, not much of a need for it. The only time I’ve ever had you already clamp is when I, when something gets messed up and there’s like some background noise that has to be edited out, then I will break out audacity for that and that I did a separate article already and I’m not going To cover the topic again, but the pro tip on audacity is: you can actually support your tracking job, so you can actually take the article you edit it and drag it right on top of audacity and it’ll import, just the audio, then you can process it export.

It and I, in that article, I believe I left the script. You know elevate blow to it, that you can reemerge from the command line and put them back together or you can, if you want split out audio and then import it back as a second track. So I had some audio that was really tricky to edit, so I actually pre process the audio in audacity and then merge it back together in kdenlive and you can drag audio files and kdenlive and they work just fine.

So hopefully that gives you an idea of the editing. I do if you have questions comments or you think you’d like me to expand more on one thing I other than the little tutorial I gave you that’s my basic usage of GIMP. I have not gotten much better than edit. I yeah. I did it’s it’s a lot for me to learn still because after using Photoshop for at least 15 years, maybe longer probably longer, I think I started Photoshop.

Oh yeah, it’s 2017, so I started learning Photoshop. Like 99 98, so after spending that many years in Photoshop, it’s not that it’s GIMP, just it’s a very different environment, so I’ve done everything I can to make it a little bit more photo like find all the equivalencies. That’s usually I do. Is I start with how to do this and GIMP like Photoshop and some of the YouTube searchers there’s a few youtubers out there that have some great compute GIMP tutorials that are really well done and very very well.

So look for those if you’re fighting you can usually find a good tutorial on yep of how to get something done, and but this is the basics of I figured out how to do the layers. I heard I’ve had a right-click and drag in there, so I can quickly create the thumbnails and get processing done. This also allows me to get articles done really fast, because I don’t have to spend a ton of time jumping between virtual machines, like I did before, with okay, how to spin up my virtual machine just so I can run Photoshop, so I can get a thumbnail Made you know anything that adds to my workflow time cuts down time, that’s just not as productive so but happy to get it all in here.

COLLECTION PICKUPS | COMIC AND KNIVES

Let’s get rid under this okay, so, as you guys know, I have a comic book collection, so I recently picked up issue 291 of the Fantastic Four at my local comic book shop, which is about 30 minutes away. They don’t usually have anything that I’m into which is 80s to early 90s comic books.

But to find this one was special because I have issue 292, which is where they find Adolf Hitler in Germany. So I wanted to see what happens leading up to it and issue 291 is where they’re in in Germany looking for Adolf Hitler. So, for me, that is very special and very historic, which is why I wanted to add it to my collection and since I already have 292, I wanted to see what happens leading up to it, which is why I picked up 291.

It has a four dollar price tag on it, but I talked him down to about two dollars for that, and also at yard sales. I recently picked up a few knives to our to my knife collection. So up first, is this one: here it is kind of old. It does need some work to it. I need to clean it up a little bit. The brass, especially it lives a little bit marked up. The wood seems okay, I like the age on it, but one thing I don’t like is that it is loose here, so I’m going to have to tighten it up to make it not do this, because that is a little bit dangerous, because the knife is a Little sharp, but I’m going to open it up here and the only other flaw is.

It has a power out of it here, a chip in the blade. So I have enough to sharpen it’s. It does have a couple marks on the blade as well. So I’m going to have to clean it up, but honestly that is a pretty cool knife. It is still a little sharp, but the fact that it has the chip here and it needs to be cleaned up. I’m going to have to do a little work into it, so it is pretty cool. It’s not going to take too much, but I’m see that’s very loose right there, but to only pay a dollar for because of the condition it was in to me is worth it definitely glad to add this to my collection, but as it sits right now, it’s A little on the dangerous side, so we have to fix it up a little bit.

The next one here is a Swiss Army knife. Now I don’t know if this is original, if this is real one of the real expensive Swiss Army knives, but I seen this, it was pretty cool he added this too. I think this was a dollar as well, and usually I only see one knife in these, but this one here, I think, has three knives. It has one. I think the second one is here: yeah, there’s two and there’s another one somewhere here.

I think on this side: here’s the third one so for only $ 1. To add this to my collection. It has three knives in it, which I don’t usually see them that have three knives in it, pretty cool. It didn’t cost me too much and it looks cool. That’s why I wanted to add that one to my collection and the last knife is this little one here, which I actually like this one a little bit more than the big one, because the big one needs a little work, a little TLC with it.

But this one here looks to be in nice condition. The brass isn’t marked up the wood isn’t marked up. It doesn’t look as polish the wood as the other one, but it’s not marked up, which is what matters to me. The brass is in good condition and the knives are all fine as well. So here’s one knife here perfect. I think this is a second knife on this side yep and then I’m assuming this is a bigger one yeah.

This is one with three as well, so maybe I maybe I’m wrong. Maybe this one only has two knives. This is the one that has three. So this is in great condition. Nothing’s marked up, none of the blades need to be I’m going to have to sharpen them just to see anyways, but they’re not marked up at least they don’t have to be cleaned up. They’re not marked up any the brass seems be perfect, no dings. Nothing like that, so this one here is my favorite knife out of the that I got because of how great of condition it is in no marks or anything so yeah.

These are the three things that I recently picked up. I only paid a dollar per each knife. This one here honestly, should have been a little bit more because it is heavier, but because the condition it’s in the fact that it’s loose it has the chip in it. The blade needs to be cleaned up. The brass needs to be cleaned up, the wood needs to be cleaned up a little bit, and that is why he only sold it for a dollar.

Otherwise, I would not have picked this up because to me it’s not worth much more than a dollar, because I have to do a little bit of work into it, and also I picked up a comic book which I have to 92. TOP 5 ADVICE FOR SALESPEOPLE [Gary Vaynerchuk]

I don’t understand how people think they’re relevant right like and by the way I think email is still the killer app. I think phone calls the phones incredible but but they’re declining in our attention. I have not responded to a bulk or even a one-on-one sales pitch, an email or phone form in a decade. A stunning amount of people behind that camera right now are not going to be successful in sales, because they’re not willing to work hard enough.

They love the automation, they love all these tools. The problem is, if you have the greatest hammer and the greatest screwdriver and the greatest wrench the greatest in front of you, if you don’t use them properly, you will lose right if there’s a nail that I have to put in that ground. But I take the wrench and I hit it when the hammer was right there. It still comes down to the practitioner mm-hmm and you have to be good at your craft and you have to love your.

If you don’t love sales, if you don’t love it, you have no chance, because it’s so hard, it’s so painful, there’s so much rejection right. So those are the things I think about different sales professionals. Reading. Where would you advise that they start in terms of creating their own content or sharing their content, adding their own context as well? Before I go directly into the tactics of, should you make a article? Should you do a written blog post, so she did do a podcast.

You have to reverse engineer who you’re trying to get through. So I think the number one rule of salespeople is to listen. Know your audience know what they did. If you see an M & A just happen, if you see layoffs just happening, if you see one of them, if I see Burger King doing something, I’m thinking what is McDonald’s, think of Russ. So that’s number one number two: where are they spending time? Everybody as a salesperson has to figure out? How do they best communicate? Is it written word? Is it audio? Is it article? Is it in person and how to use the digital world in audio, written or vid you’ll form to create the gateway drug to in person? I look at sales very differently than the far majority.

I think way too many salespeople are patient or impatient. I think way too many salespeople are transactional. I think way too many salespeople are lowest-common-denominator. Spam blast, LinkedIn, email, bulk business card business card business card, so I think I’ve got a different tactic on sales, but don’t get it twisted it’s what I am if you’re not happy with your upside, if you’re not fully fulfilled.

I think a lot of you are doing things that are directly in front of you numbers that they put in front of you you’re trying to achieve that because you have a beach house, you want to buy we’re going that vacation sales is a funny game. If you work in a big company, they manipulate numbers to create your actions. I believe that the best sales people are doing things in a different way. I think you need to care about the customer for real reverse-engineer them and give them what they need.

I’m a better salesperson than you, because I’m the anti salesperson and I think that’s the best salesperson. Please understand that the world has changed in the attention of the person you’re trying to get to is moving into different places, and this big one stop complaining. A great salesperson shuts their mouth and she goes to work every day and tries to bring value to the end-user, and this patient and over time wins the marathon of sales put yourself in that position.

What To Pin To Pinterest For Etsy Digital Printables Sellers – Day 5

You may be competing with. Do you sell yours for 350, or do you sell yours for $ 17 wondaland? You know what are you doing, but on Pinterest a lot of them are free right. So we need to make our pins on Pinterest even more amazing than they are for the free versions right, so we’re going to start with with printable planners and we’re in Etsy right now, so there’s printable, WeDo, wedding planners printable, planner, stickers, printable, planner and printable stationery.

So we already know that that there are some different kinds and – and there are quite a few results so for printable planners we have a hundred and thirty three thousand, which is a large number right. That’s a really large number to be competing with now. Let’s go over to here and do prints and we want to start seeing what Pinterest says. So we have printable and printables. So I’m going to use my little notebook over here, printable printables, you could use word you could use and I don’t want it change that.

I want to have both of those I’m first looking for my keywords to see what we’re doing and then, as we go through. We’re, also going to be looking for pictures and see what kinds of pictures they’re using for these things. So if we go with just printable – and I don’t have so – let’s just look at general principles and what you want to do when you’re picking how to make your pictures is to start at the very highest level that you can.

We don’t care right now, whether they’re free printables or whether they’re paid printables. We want to see what’s going on so printables, we’ve got. Oh my gosh. That’s a three up right. We got down load over 700 pre free printable files. We have kind of a so this is showing the end result of the printable right, so you have kind of the binder that you would put all your printables into here’s a whole bunch of what they would get free, printable maps.

So this is to me if I was selling and we’re going to do three different kinds of things. Just so you know printable planners, printable, artwork and then printable invitations. So, for me this is way too broad, but I do want to start to get a a feeling and luckily, for me, printable planner is because it’s my realtor planner printable planners is a big category, so also the very first one under there is free right.

So here’s some things you want to think about so happy planner is a style of planner. So whether or not and there’s one size of the happy planner that my planner pages will fit into it’s just the one. That’s like the size of eight and a half by eleven, but that’s something to know whether it’s for this time and knowing what to do with my keywords or whether it’s for product development. So what I could do is I could buy one of those full-sized happy planners and take a picture.

Remember we saw it in real life. We could make one with just that and a pin that just focused on the happy planner. So if you can get into this is very different than Etsy. You don’t want to kind use those words you could, you could say it fit and happy planners, because you’re not you’re not trying to mess with with a a copyrighted keyword, but on Pinterest you’re allowed to say things like you can more so say Disney.

You can more so do that. I still wouldn’t encourage it, but you would have a much easier time: okay, templates printer plantable templates. Let’s see what that says, templates because mine is not editable, so I would assume finally planners that fit you trackers free, printables, free printables. Okay, free bullet journal printables rainbow planner free printables. So you may be wondering why people are giving away free printables.

The reason is: I’d, give away free printables to on some of the pages on my website. I get paid for views and also I try to like give away a free Monday through Friday, something to sell them into a whole planner, it’s a way of marketing, so we want. I want to keep going to find personal planners, so mine’s a business planner. So we have monthly weekly. You want to do all these binder business, so I need business know if I love templates, I feel like I would be courting disaster because I think they would want to be able to edit them, and I don’t do that.

Oh there’s mine how to set your DIY business planner up. So that’s awesome! I love that okay, so we have templates direct sales. Now I do have a direct sales planner. So I’m going to take down this note direct sales time management – Etsy, yes for right! So now we want to go right in here, because these and and I would I would obviously do more work on this. If I wasn’t working with you guys, but we’re going to go into Etsy.

If you sold planner printables on Clickbank or another place, you would want to do that, but we got Pepsi and then we got direct sales again life products, products and C products. So we could go down into NC products, let’s see and C products, and then we ran out of words right. So we want to see what’s going on it here, work at home, that’s good for me, work at home and we have Etsy and products which I’m going to put into my descriptions so that I can show up in the search life.

Planner link, tips, tips. That’s so tips and ideas, I always use tips and ideas for my blog post, but tips and ideas. You may not want to do for a product right because you want to moreso be selling something rather than getting giving tips and ideas. So this is the difference between ecommerce and information marketing. On my blog posts, I want to talk a lot about tips and ideas and on my product sales, I want them to know that they’re going to click through this pin and go to be able to purchase something so that they don’t continually on Pinterest click through.

Come right back because they were looking for information and then Pinterest will denigrate my pin and not make it show up as well. Okay. So this is another one of mine all right, so we have Etsy business planner printable products. So we want to see what and obviously I’ve influenced it. So I’m going to put – and I call that my girly post so girly post my girly design, so I since I have influenced it, I can use my own girly design, okay, so they are mostly three by two there’s, not a lot of tall ones to 2.

By 3, so if it was, that’s a ratio, so it’s so if it was 600 wide, it would be 900 tall if it was 900 why it would be 1200 tall. So I just want to note that 3 by 2, because sometimes I make really tall pins printables how to okay. So this is okay, so they’re, showing the form showing form see this to me is I’ve kind of gotten into okay. This is a thing so showing all pages small and size. I like how she did this eight four letter size.

You know what I might almost keep this, so I can use it as a template and I can remember it – I’m not that copiers, because obviously we’re doing this is for knitting right. So I’m not going to copy hers, but I’m going to copy the way that it looks. Okay, see this is product descriptions se SEO, so I feel, like I got too far down. I got too far away from planners Etsy business. Okay, so I have pink backgrounds.

Think it’s big on Pinterest, pink background black bars, which is this one and product pages all right. We have a picture of a planner, a picture of planner. We have a squiggly arrow, so that’s important, squiggly arrow. I want to grow a printable shop. I want to focus on so we also, I feel, a lot of teal backgrounds right. So there was a lot of pink but there’s a lot of teal backgrounds. And what else can we see here? Yeah? That’s, I mean that’s kind of where we’re going.

They have a lot of where they have the words and the plater, so I have one too. I don’t know why these are all underlined. So I have one two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight eight different things I can use for my design, starting. So that’s going to be good. I like that and then I am going to do one more thing: printable realtor planner, because I’m actually doing my work here. Sorry, okay, so very similar, I’m going to add top and bottom bar, so see how there’s a top and bottom bar with the words there’s a candid.

I call those candids where they print out. You know it printed out, see they kind of like color. So my planners aren’t colorful colors, but I can do that with my see this lady. Does this a lot she’s good? Okay? So I have enough for my mix we’re going to do printable artwork. Now, let’s see how many competitions we have 44,000. So this is better. It’s so funny. I always hear how how competitive it is not compared to my stuff, but wait till we get to the next one.

Okay, so printable artwork, and I picked this laundry printable now. This is super import since print Bowl artwork, because people are just randomly looking for principles they may be looking for in their home right. I, like vintage style. I like something for my laundry room. I like something for my craft room. I like something for my living room. I like the color blue. I like you know so so the more you can be specific about who it’s for the more likely you are going to show your product to somebody who’s going to be interested in mine.

So, let’s do this laundry printable? Okay! We should have seen what it laundry printables. So it should be laundry printables, one, three print bowls. Okay, so let’s do laundry printables and we have free template vintage. So if it was a bit, I think that looks like a vintage. So if it’s vintage you can do vintage farmhouse, that’s definitely farmhouse right, um, funny print signs. I feel like that’s a sign.

Those are signs cool signs. Oh I got ta get this too. So I don’t forget, so we can give her credit for that. Oh, let’s see what else we got over here so so I feel like poster poster. I just feel like those are posters right because they’re, like a eight and eight and a half by eleven, would be like a sign, maybe to me, and those look like this – would be big printed on on bigger posters. Let’s see how big they are.

I bet you can print them any size. You want right, but if we’re going to try to sell this product, let’s do poster we’re going to go down the poster rabbit hole because we need to see what kind of pictures on Pinterest people like okay. So a picture of the poster itself right, so we have just the poster we have to up meaning there’s two pictures top and bottom to up with words middle right. We have like a lifestyle clean.

I feel like that’s plenty. That’s like the plainest. You could get a lifestyle picture right and then we have a lifestyle with with with the title lifestyle title, oh and then we have a for up for up with color-block in middle and words and see here there is a tall pen see how mine were all Three by two, this one is probably two by four. So it’s twice as big as it is tall tall. Pin, that’s a lifestyle.

Okay. Can we find products know what happens if we add Etsy Etsy? So why would somebody want to pay for it right when you can get all these other ones free? Well, it could be that the ones that are free are so we’re going to put Etsy product right. Let’s see product in our keywords, um, that’s he promised. I can’t take will talk at the same time, sorry product, so some of those you could print and sign out this big.

But if you tried to make it a poster size, they don’t offer you the high-res version, so somebody that is looking for something pretty to hang in their actual home is going to be more willing to spend. What is it like ten dollars or something like that? Okay, now we’re getting into way more lifestyle, lifestyle pictures, not plain lifestyle right. So this has the picture of the chair and things like that.

You can do those with mock-ups. Most of us do him with mock-ups. It’s not a thing. Okay, so this one’s kind of cool – this is words from poster top picture life. Life style picture, bottom. Okay, so I feel like we have a really good overview of what is doing well for this search, so we’re going to move on to one last one, and this is printable invitations. Okay now hold on to your horses, kids, half-a-million right and the reason why it’s half-a-million.

The reason why it’s half-a-million is because most of these people are what’s called drop. You know they’re making them with templates and so you’ll see a lot of different sellers with the same designs because they’re not actually designing them themselves, they’re using a a service that gives them designs, and then they sell them. It’s much like the t-shirt sellers, the people that sell some of them are screen printing them themselves.

Don’t get me wrong, but a lot of them are just using standard templates. Okay, so we want to find out for these printable invitations. We’re going to do a bridal shower invitations, okay, so this is where you want to get specific again like the laundry room printables, you have to get specific, because if you were doing all the printable invitations, what do we have? We have a bonfire Fall Festival.

Christmas party baseball child’s game children’s party. We have bridal showers, bridal showers, baby showers, pool party right, so you have to have a specific thing so that you can look things up. So let’s look up our principle invitations. We want to go as high as we can. So printable invitations lots of free, but we don’t have free, so printable invitation great, yes, okay, then we have birthday templates.

So templates for me would be these guys because they do allow you to edit them crafts wedding, so wedding, it’s a bridal shower, but thats related to wedding. So let’s go to wedding and see if that’s okay, wedding templates templates be my bridesmaids bridal shower awesome. So then we do bridal shower and we ran out of things. So this is. This is going to be our our once right, so Wow, so we have pictures six up words at top now I know those are free, but we don’t care.

Okay. We have talked bottom two up two up lifestyle words in middle. We have like plain lifestyle, plain life, eyal principal banner, okay and see these are Etsy ones. So, let’s see if they go to the same store. That would be interesting. So this goes to hello or s papery, and let’s see if this one goes to hello, where’s paper, lady and that so they’re doing very well right. They’re doing super! Well we’re happy for them.

Okay, then, okay and there’s another good tip hold on alright. So you have the those are printed printed. Okay, so we have rose gold. Okay. So now you need to drill down to colors, with your with your words. Okay, we have ooh. This is a wedding dress finder! Oh, I almost Riedel shower bridal shower, isn’t really the wedding dress right? This is more nigga tacos. They got games bridal shower games, so we have the invitations.

Printable invitations, wedding, bridal shower what if we took out wedding? Maybe that’s messing us up. Okay, so we’re we’re seeing a lot of just the picture: lady hands, holding okay, there’s another lady hands holding and there’s hands holding right. So there’s a lot of we’re seeing a lot of people in them. Those are bridal shower games. This is, and a lot of them are have flowers beside the printable and the printable is real like they printed it out.

This is well this one could be. You know, they’re there, it’s probably a template. Like a mock-up ooh. I like that bridal tea shower. That’s cute now they’re relying a lot on the design of this. Now. This is a good one wedding for up wedding invitations, and I am going to go here and save that pin because I need that pin nope. I don’t want that. I want the pin. You are huh, oh darn, it I’m going to have to screen capture it.

It’s promotion, okay, because we’re going to talk about this in another article, all right, so I have to leave for up wedding invitations with words one-third down. Okay, alright, so I think that’s about it, so so for that, for our wedding gals, oh there it is, we have lifestyle top like dishes, and then we have four up bottom mix, champagne and wedding invitations right. So this is actually sorry about that.

My world goes nuts when my phone rings, but we were just finishing up, so I’m not going to to mess with that, but so what we can see from this one is that we have a lot of you know the static there’s another lady. With the background – and that’s an at-sea one, but we have some things for that one, so those are pictures that Pinterest likes for products for a printable product. So hopefully that helps.

How to Use Facebook Ads for Beginners (2020) – A Complete Facebook Ads Tutorial

I’ve spent close to half a million dollars now on Facebook. So I feel, like I know, a thing or two.

This is this: is an old old account? You can see right here lifetime. Just so, you know a little under 6000. This is back time when I was testing and then I made more of an official business account And that’s where I do most of my spending right. So that’s for me personally in my business, But then I’ve spent another. I don’t know hundred thousand, maybe four other clients, so We’ve really gone through and nailed down a lot of the different strategies and obviously there’s always more to learn: there’s always Things that are changing with Facebook and you need to stay on top of that.

But with this I want to give you guys a quick run-through from A to Z, so Right here guys Just to give you a quick overall view these. These are all of your campaigns alright And we’re going to walk through There’s good, There’s three types of things: There’s a campaign There’s an ad set and then there’s an ad okay. So, like campaign is kind of like at the top, And then you can have multiple ad sets to the campaign, And then you can have multiple ads in each one of the ad sets right.

So just to break that down. It’s actually easiest to go through and start creating campaign to explain each one of the different Meanings of what those all are cuz like you’re, probably okay, Just what the heck are those right. So if we click on create campaign right here, all right, It’s going to See we’ll start over. It says: What’s your marketing objectives, okay, So there’s a lot of different things here And we need to choose the objective that best suits us of what we’re shooting for.

Okay, so we’ve got Brent of awareness right here, consideration or conversion, so Facebook they have so much data that they know. If they’re going to show an ad in front of somebody. They know if somebody’s going to read A article like more likely to read a article or more likely to like or comment a post like for me. I don’t really like and comment on a lot of posts, but I’ll click on a lot of links, And so they’ll probably know okay I’ll, show Jason ads that are more traffic base of people.

So traffic is basically like you Them to click to your website or to a blog post or something like that where it’s article views. That’s like posting a article on Facebook. You you just want people to read it. You don’t want necessarily them to click anywhere Engagement. That’s just like clicking that boost post button on your Facebook page. That’s to get people to like and comment and share on your posts and Facebook knows the people that are more likely to do that came and right here.

There’s lead generation, That’s using Facebook’s lead forms Which we could shoot another article another day, if you guys want a article specifically on that Just comment down below, because I can go through and show you step by 7. The cool thing about this is: It gives you their name phone email address, whatever information you want, But it automatically pulls the information that Facebook has on file so a lot of times.

You can eliminate a lot of the bogus information When it comes to lead generation. Right now Messages this is kind of a newer one, but this is really hot right now of just like, you know, they click hey, I’m interested to call to action is send message, and then it starts a conversation in your facebook, Messenger, okay and I’ve seen some Crazy awesome results with facebook, Messenger and then Conversions right here.

This is using. This is diving a little bit deeper And I’ve got some other articles on this, but using Facebook’s, pixel, Okay, So they’re pixel is basically their way of tracking everyone that comes to your website. Everyone that becomes a lead all that stuff, which we can hit a little bit on that today, But will also I’ve got. I’ve got actually another article that I’ll link here Be able to show you guys how to actually make that happen.

Okay And how to set that up and use it on your website, so these are all the different ones. So, for this one, Let’s just say We’re going to go with traffic alright, And this obviously is based off of your goals of what you want to go through and do I didn’t really hit brand awareness. Brand Awareness is just getting like a massive reach, getting like more exposure than anything. You know it kind of like that in store visits, catalog sales.

This is a little bit more advanced And it depends on like what type of business you’re in so I’ve actually never used those Just because I’m not in that type business. But if you use you’re, working with like a physical location Like store visits, obviously are going to be huge or catalog sales. That’s probably going to Be really more to e-commerce. Alright, so let’s just say traffic right here And then we could give the campaign a name.

So we’ll just say: demo traffic campaign right So come over here and just really quick back I’ll show you, Let’s just click back right here. You can’t set a limit to the campaign. Saying hey, I don’t want to spend any more than 200 bucks, 500 bucks whatever or 50 or whatever the number is, But I typically don’t do that. I just kind of keep my eye on the campaigns and read them. So what does it continue here? Okay, So the campaign so like we’ve got the three Different pieces of the campaign, which is kind of like the overall, the highest part of the pyramid.

I guess and you’ve got ad sets where you can have multiple ad sets within the campaign. Okay and then the ad right here, So your campaign is the objective: do you want two people to read articles traffic get leads? What do you want to happen, then? Your ad set? This is where it gets into the Targeting of fining, like what’s the audience like. What’s the demographic you want to target? What’s your budget, You can see right here.

They break it down They’ve, actually they change this about a year ago And they made it really simple to kind of see all the steps like your objective. Okay, now the trap. Okay is traffic? Who do you want the audience to be? Where do you want to be placed? You want to be on your mobile phone, a Desktop on Instagram on all these different platforms, and then your budget. So it’s like hey. Do you want to spend five hours a day? You want to spend $ 100 a day like how much do you want to spend okay so over here as we come down, and we can give this a name to so we’ll say demo a Traffic ad set, and then you can.

I typically would like at this point to just give it a name based off the audience Right which we don’t know yet something just kind of create this on the fly. But it’s kind of cool because you see like the potential reach of what you’ve got so far and we’ll break it down. You’ll see how this number right here is: 200 million. How, as we go through and break this down, It’ll shrink but you’re getting more narrow.

More specific, Okay! So when I’m running a campaign, if it’s, if it’s like a national campaign like all across like the US or Canada or whatever country you live in, I Like to get a few hundred thousand people in that campaign, because Facebook works better with more data. Okay, So, like the bigger the audience, the bigger at work, it works. However, if it gets too big if it’s getting to like three four five million, Sometimes you’ve got to like nail injure your targeting a little bit better.

If it’s like a super broad market, then great Like if you’re selling, I don’t know like Weight, loss, stuff, cuz, that’s a pretty broad market. But if you’re like in more of a specific niche, you probably want to stick around like the one to two million on the higher end right. That’s at least what I’ve seen. But then, if you’re doing like local ads. Obviously, it’s kind of based off of How many people live in your town in your city, right like you, live in Chicago versus, I don’t know like it’s.

Some small town in South Dakota right like you’re, going to Have a lot fewer people, But you don’t want to be reaching out to people in North Dakota because this is not going to be within that right. Demographic, okay, So come down here traffic. I just leave this here. Nice thing is some of the stuff. You don’t really even have to touch It’s. It’s not like it’s super important so offer I don’t do anything there and then custom audiences.

This is a little bit advanced, so we’ll hit that in another article and then four locations – Let’s say let’s say this is let’s just say this is a local, app, okay, We’re running it for a local weather, we’ll say a real estate agent. Just because That’s I work a lot in the real estate space and the mortgage space. So let’s say: okay, We’re going to come down here and we’ll say. Or do we want to be a tape? Orlando, Florida, Okay, So we’ll type in Orlando Florida and lay this? They went from 200 million down to two million people right here now.

What, if I run in a local ad, this locations of this drop down it by default, is going to say everyone in this location, But I typically would want to do people who live in this location? Okay, because it’s like hey, I just want people who live in this location and that’s good for real estate. But if you’re doing like it for a restaurant – And you just want everyone that location, because, if they’re busy and as a matter if they’re visiting You want to be able to target them as well or you can do piece people recently in this location.

So if they were there But they’re, not there anymore or people traveling this location so like if you’re like running ad for more tourists type stuff, You can do that as well. So For this one with real, We’ll just say, people who live in this location And then you can see that without narrowed down to 1.5 million, because well That is kind of a touristy spot right. So now what we could do Is we can go through and say: hey.

I only want it with people in the current city, Okay, so which that’s going to nail down to eight hundred eighty thousand, or do you say hey, I want to do more of a radius Okay, so you can go up to 50 miles or down to ten Miles so just because this is a little bit bigger city Right, we can do a 10-mile radius, okay, so now we’re going down and As far as the age range you got to kind of think of, like your target demographic, Like how old are they like somebody? If we’re doing real estate, It’s looking to find someone, That’s looking to buy or sell a home, Then 18 year olds – probably not going to be in that demographic.

So I’d say that we like to go up to at least Like a 25 26 27. Something like that, and so you can see how you’re narrowing down This as well. You Go through. You could type in languages, It’s like. If you only want to work with people that speak English or you could say, hey. I want to work. I know there’s it’s a big Hispanic market in that area, so you could just say hey. I want Spanish, So you can kind of see as two hundred twenty thousand people or you can just say, hey, You know I work with, doesn’t matter what language they speak.

If they they live in the u.S, They probably speak a little bit of English, so I’ll just leave it at that. So I’ll, typically just cuz I’d speak English. I’ll just put that in Now guys. This is where it gets pretty cool right here: Okay, the detailed targeting okay, so the detailed targeting you could do some really cool stuff here. So What I like to do you go through and browse? You can browse by demographics, so somebody’s education, Okay, it’s education, level, They’ve got a college degree or they’ve.

Just high school or they’re in college They’re in high school They’ve got a master’s degree, So you can get pretty like bit and obviously this is not always something that you have to go through and choose, But sometimes depending on your ad you’re. Creating this can be really helpful, So it’s just good to know some of these different things that are in here or financial. You can say hey. I only want to hit higher income people, so people they’re making over half a million dollars a year.

Okay Or I can target the lower or like kind of like the middle-income or something like that or saying, hey net worth, okay, Because if you got like a high value, real estate property. For sticking with this, you probably like somebody – that’s only like – has a $ 100,000 net worth. It might not be able to afford a five-minute. Well, They can’t afford a five million dollar property. Okay, so that’s kind of cool right here and then also, I said what hits of these things, because these are like What I like found somebody stuff with some of these things in here I was like wow there’s a lot of stuff.

You could do so. I don’t want just open up your guy’s eyes And your mind is seeing some of the different things that we can do here. Alright, so you can do home ownership, Which is big for obviously real estate mortgage. You say: hey, I’m looking for people to first-time homebuyers home type life events Interests you see like okay, You want people like there’s one where let me find this There’s what old behaviors.

I think it is okay, Where it talks about people’s purchase. Behavior right this right here, So people that are like more likely to make big purchases online if you’re doing like ecommerce type stuff, see these buyer profiles, Coupon users that, like it’s crazy, how much data Facebook has because Facebook now has the data that you give them. But through Facebook’s pixel they can actually track What sites you’re going to.

They know what what links you’re clicking on What ads you’re clicking on so they’ve actually got a lot a lot. A lot of data on you, Okay, cuz. Some people last times were like well. How do they know that I, like I like skiing – I don’t like any of the skiing pages, but You know maybe you’re clicking on those those ads or something like that. So they’ve got. I mean I’m not going to go through all these, but they’ve got tons of things down here or you can just say, hey They’re, interested in real estate.

You could just type that in okay, so right here interests or Behaviors either. One of these, the difference between interested behaviors interest is basically they’ve liked. Something related to real estate on Facebook. Behaviors is kind of like they’ve, more acted upon something like they’ve, that’s more of like they click the link or something like that. It’s anyway guys, you guys could get lost in this forever.

I’m not going to dive in super deep more on this, just because we’ve already, I feel like hit that pretty well So adding the connection type this right here. I don’t always really do this, but you could say hey. I want them to be people who, like I wanted. I want to just target people who have liked my facebook page already, so it’s like that’s kind of your warm audience Or if you want to like expand a little bit.

But you know how have some of the ads that says: hey So-and-so, like you’re, one of your friends, also likes this page. This is where you can go through and do that so you say: hey friends of people who, like your page or if you want to just Expand and get new people say: hey only. Eight people Exclude people who, like my page, because this is not those like my patients only for new people coming in okay, so now coming down What we could do here so automatic placements a lot of times they have this here by default.

I like to do edit placements and Just so you can see like all the different places we can have these ads. You have it on the newsfeed, so this Mobile and desktop used to be separate, And now it’s just one of the same. If we want to make it just on mobile or just on desktop right here on device types, It says all devices recommended, which I usually leave it at that, but you can say only on mobile devices or only on desktop computers.

Okay, so that’s just something really! Quick there and Then, as we’re going down here, I like to just typically leave it on the Facebook news, feeds and uncheck everything else: okay, Just because I’ve seen the best results with that. However, I just wanted to show you some of the different places you can have these dad’s okay, So you could have it on there instant articles, There’s kind of like a newer blogging type platform Industry articles.

This is kind of like what YouTube’s already been doing. Having like the streaming articles before a article, you know right column, you guys have seen that on your desktop top right lot of times, you get cheaper ad Space for that, just because it not as many people click on that. However, It could still convert extremely well and then right here. This is where you do it on Instagram, okay, Facebook owns Instagram, and So, if you wanted to show on Instagram as well, you say hey, I want to show it in the newsfeed or at the very top on the stories.

Okay, so that’s kind of a cool little feature there. Then you’ve got all these different ones. You know, if you want to do messenger and say hey, I want them to click and go to messenger, or you can actually have it an ad. In essence, pop up in that person, Messenger box, Okay, which it’s kind of crazy right – okay, Now just scroll down here guys. I Don’t really touch this right here and then, as far as the budget, you can do a daily budget.

So I want to spend five bucks a day or a lifetime budget. Just saying hey, I Only want to spend $ 35 $ 100 $ 50 or whatever It is. I typically just like to do a daily budget. Okay and you can start out at whatever number, whatever suits your budget right now. If you have an audience of like seven hundred thirty thousand, you can start at like a higher number like you could start Technically, you know, let’s say 50 or 75 dollars a day.

I like to start normally like around twenty twenty-five dollars a day if I have like a massive massive budget, But if you’re reading this article you’re probably more of a beginner. So if you start around like the five to ten dollar range, That’s probably just that’s perfect. Right so we come in here and then this is. This is something That’s that’s cool Like what I like to do sometimes is when I start a new ad campaign, I like to give it the whole entire day so like right now, I think it’s like 6:00 a.

M.. On a Saturday. I I just woke up. I couldn’t sleep, It’s like I’m just going to shoot a article, So I like to get the full day and let it run so that I can kind of like see the whole day’s data. It’s so like. If it’s. If it’s right here so we say I like to start like, maybe on a Monday, okay and then we’ll say, look We’ll start at 8:00 a.M. Okay and then, since we’re a daily budget, Well, you can’t have a Start end date and then still a daily budget, or you could say, hey, run my ad set continuously, But I like to kind of like have a start date right, and so all that switched Up on me, so we come over here: 8:00 a.

M.. Cuz, then. So, if that’s Monday, at 8:00 a.M. On Tuesday, when I like kind of gets you my ads and stuff around like 8 or 9 a.M.., I Can see a full day’s worth now. Really quick, quick tip, if you guys are only spending $ 10 a day. I would give it probably three to four to five days before you go through and evaluate Whether your campaign is work Not because sometimes it takes a little bit of time for Facebook to go, optimize it and find the right people and the more data They have.

The better They’ll be able to optimize it for you, okay, so despite popular belief, Facebook actually wants you to succeed, because if you succeed, you spend more money with them and it’s great for everyone right. But at the same time you got to have a good ad that that really is fitting with your target demographic Which we’ll talk about ads here in a second okay. So That’s kind of like what I like to do so if it started on Monday from 8:00.

At 8:00 a.M, I could check it, Maybe that next Tuesday Just kind of get a quick glimpse of what it’s looking like. But if I’m only spend $ 10 a day But you’ll wait to like Wednesday or Thursday and really determine if it’s a winning ad or if it’s it’s, not right, okay, So coming down here, link clicks, I typically don’t really mess with any of this, and that Doesn’t matter it like, doesn’t matter what campaign I’m Ronnie, I just like leave it just because lots of Facebook’s basic stuff is kind of like already set to where you want to have it.

Okay! So then, we’ll come over here to the the ads section right and You need a business page, Whether it’s your personal and your business, one or whatever You need a business page in order to run ads, you can’t run it from your personal profile. Okay, now It’s nice because it’s super easy to go through and create your your own Facebook page free, easy takes like two seconds all right, Then, if you’re also advertised on Instagram, you can connect your Instagram account right here right now, the cool thing is is, if You haven’t existed like let’s say you made a post on your Facebook page and, and you want to use that you can just click on use existing post and That you can go through and select one of your previous post right here.

Okay, Now, if you go through and you’re creating a new ad inside a Facebook Ads manager, this is what’s called some people call it a blind ad and the reason why it’s called a blind ad Is because this is actually not going to show up on your Facebook page in the newsfeed Right so there’s the two types you can go: make the post on your Facebook page And then use it as an existing post and use that in your ad campaign or if you Inside here it actually does not show up And there’s Pros and cons to both some people don’t want it to be like if you’re, excluding people from your Facebook page, It’s only a special offer special something for people that don’t like you your page.

Yet then you could do that. Sometimes it’s nice to have it on your Facebook page, Because then you get some free, organic exposure, some likes and comments that you don’t have to pay for, and It looks like those posts, sometimes look a little bit more natural. It’s not like a straight up at Because they’re going to look a little bit different, like an ad inside of ads manager, you’re going to have like the headline The sub headline is going to like Be like I mean you’re just going to be, like you ask See that you see everyday, whereas in a post on Facebook, It’s not necessarily going to look as much like an ad and she kind of like almost, I guess, not trick people But like make them think it’s not an ad.

It is still will say sponsored at the top, But those are some quick little differences there Now we’ll hit these really quick. Just because this is a tutorial for beginners. I want to give a full Rundown of everything. It’s like the carousel. This is we’ll just kind of show: They’ve got like the little demos right here. This is where you can go through and you can have multiple little different images or pictures so like this is kind of nice if you’re in e-commerce and You’ve got like different products that they might be interested in right of like hey, We got this or this Or this, then, that you could just come down here and change these different ones Just through here you can add it, It could be an image or a article.

One thing I’d like to do in the past, with when I’m trying to get more clients is I’ll. Do a carousel ad right like this, But also have different testimonials, so all like going out four or five testimonials like Hey this person, this happened or this person. This happened this person. This happened like real estate. You could potentially feature multiple listings that you have right. Where I like to typically just do one listing, if I’m a real estate agent, Borrowing my business but that’s an option there, you do a single image ad, which I’m sure most of you guys have all seen.

Just it’s just one main core image: the single article Same type of thing, but it’s just a article. Instead of an image Slideshow, I actually have never really used slideshow, but it’s like kind of just that You can see like it says, create a looping article ad with up to ten images. Okay and then Collection right here. I’ve never used this as well. So I’m not going to like go speak to it. I’m not an expert on it feature collection of items that open into a full-screen mobile experience; Okay, so that could be cool.

Okay, Let’s start now, I would highly recommend starting out with a single image or a single article. Here’s the I guess. Basic simplest wants to do so. Let’s say single image, So you can go in here, upload an image You can see there free stock images or browse the library all to see. I don’t even know what images I’ve got Well, she’s like the core, the made the popular profile picture. I always use on everything.

Oh so, if it looks like this guys, There’s a tool, that’s called canvas, yay and va.Com. It will see if this really quick cuz. This is important Like this ad right here. This same thing was happening like this: lady’s head was getting like cut off Cave just kind of like how my heads getting cut off. So what I did on canva is, you can go through and they’ve got all of these Dimensions that are already pre-built for you.

Okay, so, like facebook, add a YouTube thumbnail, This is what I use. Do you make all my YouTube thumbnails. This is the old Facebook, a total dimensions. Facebook cover Facebook, post, Instagram post the college different things So I’ll just hit this and then what I’ll do is I’ll upload. You can just upload the image It makes it really easy to upload. Okay – and let’s say this – is the image right here: Okay, so now, if I go through – and I throw it in right here – and We can make a little background – Let’s see what the background should be.

Maybe this cool house – That’s probably not going to fit that great. I, Like this house, is my background. Actually, Okay, and obviously this is probably Anyway, You guys can see it’s pretty easy. You just like drag and drop everything, and then you can kind of like move. You around all that stuff and then You could even type text. Okay, so test ad Will change that to be white, so they can see it a little bit better to change the font.

Okay, we just maybe throw this up in the corner, and Do it also really quick guys if you have more than 20 % Text in your facebook, add image You’re going to get disapproved Okay, so I actually typically like to have as little text if no text As possible, So this is actually typically what I do on at YouTube thumbnail This doesn’t matter but on something like this I like to like, maybe have like. Maybe it’s like hey and obviously this is not like what I do for real estate.

I’ve got other strategies and stuff like that. But let’s say if you want to throw an image of you or somebody in there have a little background image And then you let your your headline and sub-headline do the talking? Okay, Which will show you guys here in a second now We can download this and Upload it into Facebook, Ads manager. Well, it’s just for this one, I’m just going to browse the library.

I want to show you guys that really quick, Add images we’ll just use something right here that we’ve already got in place. I Will just use this: It’s a it’s a home right, okay! So then we’ll throw in the URL like let’s say, for this example, We’re just doing it to Google. Obviously, you’re not you’re, going to put in the URL of your Your landing page and and I’ll hit another article on that. But you don’t want to send it to your main website or your blog.

It you’re going to waste a lot of money, You’re not going to generate any leads, but obviously it depends on what your goal is right. That campaign objective up here. So if you just want people to read your blog post, then yeah, you could just send them to your blog right. But if you want to generate leads, you want to send to a landing page which all I’ll have another article on that. But that’s kind of where we want to go there, so the text right here The Facebook’s made this pretty easy guys You just kind of go through okay.

What’s the website, you want to send people to what’s the text, you can say test text Copy right here. This is just like your main Facebook post, like what you want to say in there. You can make this as long as you want, can make it like a long long story. You can make it very quick, and what I like to do here, Just is, is a tutorial kind of for beginners, like letting you know how I like to write my my eat.

My copy Excuse me guys, so I like to go through first thing. I like to do is call out my audience. Second thing I like to do is do something to pique their interest and To give them kind of a call to action and then add some value and then another call to action so like, for example, Let’s say Orlando Homeowners, Okay, so that’s calling out my audience. Okay, so I’m targeting people in Orlando And if you’re a homeowner and I can go through back in my interest and say hey – I only want people that are homeowners, so you have specific.

But then, if you’re live in Orlando and your homeowner – and you see Orlando homeowners, That’s going to peak your attention right, that’s going to be like oh hey! This is for me, You could say. Are you looking to sell your home in the Next three to six months? Okay! So now that’s like weeding out through Orlando homeowners, kay, If you’re not looking to sell your home You’re going to keep scrolling You’re done.

I’m not talking to you Say. Are you looking to sell your home in the next three to six months and then, and obviously this I’m just creating this on the fly You could say like Alright look like let’s say, I’ve got somebody looking to buy a home Okay, I have a family of Three looking to purchase a home in the I don’t know where Lana that well so we’ll just say blank Area so like if you were wanting to get like specific to like a community, you know Who is hoping to purchase their Dream home within the next Few Months, okay and then we can say like full details, click here And then we can have a link, so we’re going to have the link.

So if they click on this image right here, That’s going to take them to the the site, but also Is sometimes nice. Add the link inside this copy too, because there’s a reading it lot of times people read Ads or anything online with their mouse. I don’t but a lot of times people do, and so, if you’re they’re going through and they’re like, Oh well, Do you look here? It’s just easy to click right, and So you can add like sometimes it can be as simple and click quick as that or you can add a little bit more.

Sometimes I typically just leave it at that. So light-cone have the audience and then of those people hey. Are you looking to sell your home next 36 months, we’re weaning it down and then we’re adding like it’s like a little value. Add like hey guys, get like if you’re going to sell. I’ve Already got a family of three looking to purchase a home in this specific area. Now, obviously you don’t want to like make that up.

You want to be like legit, But you want to be. Some value. Add there to get them to be like to pique their interest of like okay, What separates you from all the other real sage and stuff like? Why would I want to sell my home with you? You know I mean so then For the headline. This is where that google spot is going to be. We can say, are you Yeah we’ll just say? Are you looking to sell your home okay and that’s going to pop up right there and Then we could say: hey call to action.

Learn more. We’ve got several ones right here, We’d say no button. I don’t want it to look like an out-of-time, so we’re just going to say hey just like. Are you looking to sell your home or read more so this is kind of depends on like what your goal is right a Lot of times. I will typically do just learn more Just because, like it kind of like it’s, not Something of like hey, download now or donate now, or Buy Now or sign up or something like that, That’s a little bit you put a guard up or as learn more, It’s Like most people are fine Learning a little bit more about something right: Okay, so we’ll just actually I didn’t click that learn more, so leave it at that.

Okay And then I I took – we don’t hit this and then this display light link. You can change that if you want, I typically just leave it in then a newsfeed link in description, so we can say test Copy right here. That’s going to Pop up down here as your sub headline. This is the mobile view. You can see mobile newsfeed and this is only going to show up on your desktop newsfeed. So if we go through and we Scroll and hit this, this is going to show all the difference ad placements that we chose in the ad set level.

Okay, So we chose news feeds, It’s going to show this one right here, and this is another view of it. Okay, And this is what its going to look like on your desktop newsfeed, so I can see test copy. Let’s say we can say Orlando home owners. Looking to sell in the next three to six months, I usually do this like a little shortened version of what I’m talking about here. Okay, so It says Earl an emotionally going to sell in the next three six months.

We have a family Looking to buy something like that, and this is like learn more okay, So just like a quick, So I’ll give them they’re scrolling through and they kind of Skim past. All this then they see this. Are you looking to sell your home Line of home or just looking to sell the next few six months We have a family looking to buy and they’re like? Oh, What’s this all about, learn more, They go to your website, okay and then down here.

All this URL parameters – That’s super advanced stuff. You don’t need to mess with that. Honestly, I don’t really miss that even still – and I’ve spent a couple thousand dollars a day on Facebook, So facebook pics will leave that leave this I’ll leave. All that use hit confirm Good to go Okay, so some other little last tidbits of things if we come over here to ads manager. This is so like this is going to Be.

Will save leave this page okay, so This is taking you back to this area. You can filter through stuff by lifetime. You want to see everything for the whole lifetime Or you can see how your campaigns just performing today or last 7 days lost times. Last 7 days You got ta, keep in mind, It doesn’t show the day of ok. So that’s just going to show the last seven full days or last 14, full days Last times I like to look at it at the last seven days, Okay and see what it’s like this.

So you can see I’m not running any ads And then you kind of mix it up and say like okay, I want to see it by Performance or delivery, so delivery would be like how many people are being reached thrive or engagement. How many like Reactions comments, shares links like all the different information there, so you can kind of like Go through and scroll through what, by what you want to see it, and then you can see here, you can see your campaigns ad sets and ads Okay.

So if you want to go through and say hey I want to get. I want to nail down on a specific like let’s say this foreclosure leads. This is only going to show the ad sets that are within that campaign and then, if we click on this, it’s going to Just dive deeper. So, like you got campaign you clicked on so it says one selected, Adsense, There’s only one ad set in this campaign. We click on this, so it just dives deeper now We’re at the ad level.

So there’s just this one ad and if you’re like crap, I want to like see what it looks like. I can’t remember what it looks like we just hit this. It will hit preview and it’s going to pop up what this looks like a So we kind of see what this looks like. If you want to see what it looks like actually in the newsfeed You’re going to hit Hey click on this say Facebook post with comments, and This will pop up what this actually looks like.

So if you wanted to like, like it yourself right there, you could just throw in a like right there and This kind of it switches between what profiles or pages you have on your account. I’ve got a lot. You probably don’t have as many as me. Okay, so those are some different things and then also up here, this hamburger menu, You get all tools. This goes and tot kind of takes. You in different Aspects like you can create different custom audience so, like I’ve got a article on this.

Actually, where you can upload your All of your contacts into Facebook, you know Maps their name phone and email with the name phone email, But they have a file with Facebook, which is kind of cool Facebook, pixels, Which I’ve got a article on that’ll out of here. As well On tracking, so that’s kind of cool. So if you guys all add these articles like, if you guys, click in that top section, Where there’s like the little circle with the eye I’ll have some of those different articles here.

So you guys can kind of explore some more of these different things, And then this is where you can go set up like the billing and all at them, Like the admin type stuff, and so anyway, I’m not going to hit all these things. This is just quick. Obviously it’s a little bit longer tutorial, But anyway, if you guys want to learn something specific, there’s something that I didn’t cover in today’s article.

I hope I covered a fair amount, But if there’s something that I didn’t cover today, make sure you guys leave a comment down below Also if this was helpful, Go ahead and hit hit like and let me know I I want to bring you guys and help You guys up as much as possible And if you guys are not subscribed to blog, make sure you subscribe. TikTok Music Promotion Results And Platform Comparisons | How To Use To For Music Marketing

I really don’t understand this thing. I decided to go ahead and do a free training using real campaigns and I’m going to go through some real results, but also explaining it in a way that if you get tick-tock in this way, it will be a game-changer for you with your music. I promise not only that, no matter what type of music you have and no matter what age and you’ll see why.

So, let’s start here Muse, seven hundred and thirty, four thousand nine hundred views on this particular campaign. Twenty seven thousand eight hundred and ninety nine likes two thousand six hundred and sixty one shares and eighty-seven articles have been generated from this campaign. Now, let’s look at the finer details, though, because this is where it becomes more important for those views than views came out at point: zero, zero, one, one, five cents per view: that’s a fraction of a penny, twenty seven that will the same thing for the likes Shares were thirty, one cents per share and articles came in at nine dollars and seventy seven cents per article now you might not have Rannoch tick tock campaign, so I want to ask you in general: do you feel like these are good results for anything they’re? Not the worst results in the world I’ll tell you that, but they are the worst results that I’ve ever gotten on tick tock.

This was a situation where the artist had some business issues in the back end where the campaign didn’t even come to fruition like it was supposed to it had to halt mid campaign. But we still got these results and I’m going to go through the rest of results before I talk about some more aspects of tic TOCs, so check this out right here that same campaign just market it on tick, tock got some streams.

They’ve got about 1700 streams and those streams came out at 49 cents per stream industry average, and you have a really good play on this broker: you’re, probably going to see around two to four cents per stream. This was at 49 cents, but remember this is over time we just marketed on tick-tock and it bled over to here same thing for YouTube about about 1800 views on the YouTube article 47 cents per view.

You can get lower. You can get better than on YouTube. If you are dangerous enough, you learn it well enough. It’s easy to get 1 to 5 cents per view on YouTube. Of course you got. You know, fractions of a penny views that you can get on YouTube as well. If you really know what you’re doing, but let’s stick stick with an average of what most people are going to get one to five cents, all right 47 cents per view higher than that? That’s what this campaign got.

But again this is overtime. This is extra now, with that being said, a campaign. That’s currently running right now, point to one six well, two point: one cents per view is what it’s getting per stream on: Spotify, that’s right in the pocket of an industry average, and this is about 50,000 views that this campaign is gotten. Probably you know it’s still going it’s still going on. I just talked about it talk to the people earlier today.

So that’s still going remember this one only got 1,700 streams. This one at point, zero to one one. A fraction of a penny is at fifty thousand streams and still going on Spotify just from being marketed on tik-tok. Now we look at the YouTube results. It’s about 15,000 views in on the YouTube article that came from tick tock now the average well get remember. We said went to five cents if you’re pretty solid.

The average, for that particular campaign is about that’s a zero five. Seven. You probably can’t even see that so it’s about five point, seven cents right per view on that campaign. So that’s on the top end. If you were running but remember this, is it ad on YouTube? This is come over from tick-tock. Lo and behold, it’s about 10 million views on tick-tock right now, thousands of articles being created to it so you’re talking about four.

What this artist has done. The first campaign, by the way, when we talk about it being the worst campaign, it hasn’t it’s not even a thousand dollars spent on that campaign. Isn’t it’s not that much money that’s been spent and it got the results it did. This is somewhere a little around neck, but it’s some very good results, so maybe double the money, but you have far more results because we were able to keep running it and run with the strategy that we planned for – and this is what I love about – tick Tock you run in one place and get all of these results that get pushed in all these other areas right where traditionally, you might run something on Instagram and it stays on Instagram or it might be a programmatic ad, where you’re running it on Instagram and you’re.

Pushing the Spotify, so you see the results there or you’re running on YouTube and you push it there or it’s just one platform. That’s really seeing prime results a lot of times and a lot of people’s campaigns, but this is one campaign. That’s having people go to all other aspects because of something on tik-tok that I like to call transfer ability that has to be kept in mind. Whenever we consider any type of campaign, people will discover your tick-tock and they will happily go find your music, because up until now, there had it even been other direct link to select on Tik Tok.

For a long time, people hadn’t even been able to put a link in their bio when it comes to tick tock, so people could go directly to the music. So this isn’t people even saying hey. You go check out the link in my bio with the call-to-action. This is people literally hearing a song and then going to find it. Google searching in YouTube, searching it so 50,000 streams based on that behavior. Not go.

I’m pushing you over here. This is oh. I hear it whoa. What’s that song and that’s what we’re seeing again and again and again on tick-tock. Can you look at Instagram? We already know those prices have gone up: you’re not going to pay $ 100 $ 100 per 10,000 followers for an influencer, because we know it’s not worth that anymore. Right $ 100 per 10,000 followers means you’re paying $ 1,000. Just someone who has a hundred thousand followers and stop and think and tell me if you think, that’s worth it on tick, tock, I’m not on Instagram today.

I don’t think it is. As a matter of fact, I know for a fact. Many of those influencers know that it’s not they’re trying to hold on as much as they can, but so many of them have come down since I’ve been working with them because they already know and understand that there’s more competition in these other spaces they’re trying to Maintain if they can, but a lot of them have come down because they know it’s not worth it.

Instagram is suppressing traffic. So, to really understand, though, here’s something to consider when we look at tick tock right. This is how the content flows through tick, tock. There’s four buckets that you can look at content always starts in bucket number one. It’s shown to a small audience. It gets stressed test for a period of time and I can go deeper into the algorithm in another article, but just understand that is here for about two hours and it starts to move throughout the platform and it stops on level three for about four days.

Actually, you understand that when you start to get into tick-tock and see how the content flows as well, but if you need to make it there once you make it to each level, it’s shown to more and more people, so these levels also coordinate with the size Of the box you’re being shown to a small bucket, let’s say maybe 2,000 people and then you’re being shown to maybe 20,000 people think you’re being shown to 200,000 people, think you’re being shown to two million people and beyond right.

That’s how the flow of the content works, but outside of the transferability, which is one of the most important factors of tick-tock. When it comes to an artist. People are looking for your music they’re hearing your music and then they’re actively going to look for it, because this platform works like promo daily. Every single article is promo, except people are giving you permission to show it to them.

That’s um, marketers dream. The other thing is viral loops, so because of how this works, the way the platform is built. If you drop a article right, then it’ll go through these levels and your article might make it to level 2. Somebody sees that article and they decide I’m going to create a article, and this person could be better. You then creating articles. In matter of fact, they might actually have a lot more followers and be a strong content creator, so they might do it and then it’ll take it to level 3.

Multiple people see their article and then they might do it. Let’s say 5 people see their article and one person stops on level 2. Two people stop on level three and then four four of them make it. No that’s wrong, math to people who make it to level four alright. So now you have people being planted as seeds on different levels, all coming from one article, all right, so you drop a article that article creates other articles and being dope that article inspires other people to make articles, and next thing you know you’re entering into this Viral loop right so now it’s marketing for itself.

In the same way, we think about passive income and people say I want my money to work for myself on tic-tock. Your content is working for itself. It’s a little soldier that gets other pieces of creators and content out there to create for it and then, when they create. That brings back more content that gets created and it continues this loop. While your article is working for you, you can continue to make strategic moves to boost that content as well.

So that’s one of the biggest beauties we have the transferability of content on tick, tock and then also the viral loops being built in and just to actually drive that point through. Let me pull this something right here, so that first campaign the worst campaign that I talked about 87 articles generated. We only created four articles for this campaign, so 83 of those articles all came because of that viral concept, that’s ingrained into tick-tock.

There were other people who saw those articles and said I want to create articles off of it, which allowed our cost per article to come down to nine dollars and 77 cents. As a matter of fact, remember I mentioned this is that worst campaign that I’ve ever had run on tik tok, that artist was actually extremely delighted from the results and what based on what they had to pay any results. They saw somewhere else and they wanted to do more and more work, hopefully after they finished figuring out all the back end business troubles that are going on right now.

We because we know what it could have been and it could have gotten closer to those other campaigns that we run. We were kind of sad about it. We were highly disappointed, especially with that song and another thing about that particular song. It had zero bass in it, zero, so the type of music that you think blows up on tick-tock, it’s not just high-end, energetic hip-hop. It’s not just super poppy songs that song.

I don’t even know what to call it. Honestly, it’s pretty slow. It’s not even our abhi song, it’s some kind of mid alternative, modern, whatever you want to call it right, but it’s it’s an interesting type of sound and it still is taking off in its own with those little pushes that we put behind it EDM. I see that blow up on Tik Tok, all the time country plenty of traction on tick-tock. It doesn’t matter your type of genre and it doesn’t really matter your age, because it’s about the music itself, if you run and understand how to push the campaigns in the proper way right, people are hearing the music and going to find the music before they even Think about who they see in it like who the actual artist is.

That’s after the fact, as a matter of fact, there’s there’s some I’ve seen some instances where people have been highly surprised to find out who the artist is, how they actually look and all that after they hear the music and become fans of the music is so, But that’s what you want right! You want followers based off the merit of your music. First, that’s what so many artists are looking for tick.

Tock of is that, in a way that a lot of these other platforms aren’t necessarily affording all right, it’s more Spotify. In many ways than it is Instagram because people are truly discovering music or in tik-tok that’s another conversation for another day, but just understand that this should be enough to give you an idea that you don’t have an excuse on age. You don’t have an excuse on your type of music, because all of that stuff is there.

Alright, Gary Vee is talking about it, a lot, because it’s a very real thing. You hear a lot of people talking about it, because it’s a very real thing from using results, and so much of the industry, I’m in meetings all the time. These people are coming right. These people are coming and the prices are going to triple at minimum. For a lot of these influencers and a lot of these other types of campaigns that you might be looking to run on tic toc, because they’re going to bring the money, you need to make sure that you get in before the prices rise.

Particularly if budget is a constraint for you, so if you want to make sure you understand tick-tock and you want to get onboard as quickly as possible on how you specifically can benefit as an artist, because there’s a lot of content and ideas for just creatives. In general, but how you can benefit for music then check out our free training. It’s at tic, toc, music, promo calm, and you will reap a lot of benefits from not having to go through figuring out tic toc.

It’s a completely different platform so get on there. Utilize the information and put it to work because tic toc is a game changer and I’ve yet to see a social media platform that impacts an artist music directly like this get on while it’s sweet, because it won’t always be this easy, tic, toc, music, promo dot-com. We have an entire free training and for those of you who want to share this article with your friends, you can check it out on the brand man page I’ll, make sure it gets posted on the brandman page on YouTube.

5-Step Copywriting Success Formula, Step 2

One of the most important tools you have in offering your products, products, programs and services – is the copy you use to communicate your messages in our last webinar. We talked about step number one of the five step. Copywriting success formula step number one is determine the problem during that call.

We talked about tapping into people’s pain because that’s something that people are struggling with and if you can tap into it and show you care, then you’re likely to get their response and that response will be. I need your help, however, I prefer to call this pushing people’s buttons, so that’s step number two push their buttons as you address your prospects problems, pushing their buttons comes along.

Naturally, it’s in this step that you let them know that you understand their feelings, that you can relate to their stress they’re, paying their anger or overwhelm whatever emotion. You know that they’re experiencing, for example, one of my clients has female prospects. He wants to be members of his women’s business network, and probably one of their pains is that they’re struggling with finding other professional women who are like-minded well.

If they join his directory, then they’ll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded women, its heart and soul. Centric entrepreneurs, it’s my guess that you don’t want to make anyone feel absolutely miserable. You can push their buttons enough to show that you’re compassionate and you get where they’re coming. Sir, and therefore you can help them and make them a happier person living a happier life.

Here’s a template, one that will help you gain clarity. What I want you to do is fill in the blanks so write this down, because this is going to help you define who you are and how you can help others. The template goes like this. I help blank and in that blank you insert your target audience do get or gain blank, and that’s where you insert a benefit. Even if blank and in there you up insert an objection or a barrier.

You probably heard the term elevator pitch or 30 second commercial. I call it the 32nd spiel and this template can help. You gain clarity with that, because it’s important that you have a clear message. In addition, it can later be fine-tuned and used as your headline or in your copy to push prospects buttons. So to help you understand this more clearly, here’s an example: I help creative solopreneurs, heart and soul.

Centered, coaches and enthusiastic business owners communicate their marketing message in a way that captivates and converts their prospects into loyal raving fans, even if they have been struggling with how to put their ideas into words in the past. Here’s another example: two well-known colleagues of mine Lewis, house and Sean malarkey. They were promoting an info product that I was helping them with and they use this as their 32nd feel.

We help entrepreneurs who have internet access tapped into countless business opportunities, even if they only have 10 minutes day and aren’t techno savvy, and we do so with proven social media strategies. I hope you can see that once you have this formula, you can go back to it, you can fine tune it and sometimes you might be able to use the whole thing as your headline, but other times you really need to sort of narrow your focus down And make it into a shorter, more powerful headline that pushes your prospects buttons.

However, there’s a fourth step, a fourth step that helps you add some extra oops to this template, and that would be to say so that and in that blank spot you insert a result or a benefit. For instance, I helped create a solopreneur heart and soul. Centered, coaches and enthusiastic business owners communicate their marketing message in a way that captivates and converts their prospects into loyal raving fans, even if they have been struggling with how to put their ideas into words in the past, so that they create a steady stream of happy Clients so that they can have a better income so that they can have the freedom based lifestyle they’ve been dreaming of, so that they can work less hours and make more money, and that’s why they got into their own business to begin with, isn’t it you can See that the so that can go on ad infinitum, but these are the kinds of things that will start to push people’s buttons and get them to take action.

So I want you to think about this template for yourself. What’s your 30 seconds feel so in the blanks I helped blank do get or gain blank, even if blank so that blank. When I delivered this program online, it was my magnetic copywriting course, and in is what some those participants wrote down. I’m sharing them with you. Now, to help you brainstorm ideas for your own business, julia is a business coach and when she filled in this formula, she came up with.

I help new startup online business owners create a solid foundation or gain traction, even if they don’t know how to market online. So that they can have a successful, six-figure business in this case during the program, I said to Julia that she could even continue with that, so that by thinking about what does it mean that they have a six-figure business? Perhaps it means so that they can provide for their family so that they can travel to exotic places or buy a new car.

Here’s another example: Peggy Lee Peggy Lee shared that I helped speakers and trainers who have a message or process to get their words out into the world, even if they don’t know where to begin or have thousands of notes on papers or ideas in their heads. So they can be seen as an expert in their field so that they can have the business and the life they dreamed of. While this may not be something Peggy Lee might use in a headline, it would make some really beautiful body copy.

She got very detailed in her message and I think she would absolutely push some buttons for people. People who have many pages of notes haven’t been able to do anything with them. Finally, todd todd is with the National women business directory and he wrote. I help women business owners find their audience and their audience find them to help them promote their products that they had trouble promoting in the past so that they can live the lifestyle they want to live and spend more time with their families for his audience.

Spending time with family is important, so it would also be important for Todd a even if you have been struggling with how to balance spending that time with your family or finding time to go out a network. Todd could say that he helps them because by joining his directory, they get exposure to a thousand women who may not have connected with them. Before. Do you see where we’re going with this, how you can push people’s buttons so that your message resonates with them? They feel connected to you and then they want to reach out and respond.

So now, between the last webinar and today’s program, you’ve learned the first two steps of the five-step copywriting success formula. Step number one determine the problem. That is what’s keeping your prospects awake at night and step number two: it’s pushing your prospects buttons stay tuned for the next webinar in the series. Design Systems – The State of the Web

My guest is Adam Argyle he’s a developer advocate at Google and creator of the viz bug, design tool and today we’re talking about the state of design systems. Let’s get started Adam thanks for being here, so I want to ask you what purpose does design fulfill on a webpage? What are its goals? Mmm. That’s a good question at a high level. I feel like design, does a couple things we have.

You know it’s supposed to be guidance. You want to have credibility, so that’s like the better designed it is the more credible it feels right. You don’t want to spend money somewhere where it looks like there’s no design, even though that might not accurately reflect the product or what you’re investing in. But I like thinking about at a very, very high level. What design is doing is we have affirmative design and we have critical design and critical design.

It’s the type of design that is exploratory. It sort of provokes you Brutalism as a good example of critical design where you’re looking at something is like wow. This is like stark and shocking, even though it’s sort of retro in a way so there’s design, can do really interesting things to your psyche. In terms of like challenging you and or we can see more of this affirmative design, which is kind of getting more popular, it’s safer, where you’re sort of piling on to the social norms of like what’s going on in design because it’s safe and it’s familiar and So folks will visit your site and they might feel old into an action because they visit it and it’s beautiful and airy and they might be looking at something terribly, not attractive, like let’s say a scrubber.

For you know your sink. You can make a scrubber and a sink look very nice, so you visit the site and says: do you have problems with your sink feeling? Dirty and nasty. We’ve got the scrubber for you, so it’s like every design States the problem, and that brings in the solution and that’s sort of lulling you into this behavior there like eyes and this familiar you’re here it looks like a normal ad.

It has the normal flow. Let me guide you down this path and we’ll take you through this excellent experience. So design does both those things that’s really high-level, to does a whole bunch other stuff too, but yeah, I think that’s sort of what it’s trying to do is credibility flow. You know somebody else has done the work to organize it for me, so it’s supposed to be easy, I’m supposed to be here to consume quickly and get a task done, guiding the user towards the solution for that weapon yeah, and in that case it’s usually the Solution that the webpage wants you to go down, which is where you know, design, has a little bit of cunning in there.

Some people say design is a type of trickery as well, which right we have like dark patterns that are like legit trickery, or we have light patterns, which are it’s trickery or we’re just sort of like? No. This is just a healthy guidance. You can you could diverge it’s okay, yeah, so in terms of the tools that designers have what is a design system and what are its goals ooh, so a design system, that’s sort of it’s a hard one to nail down.

It’s gone through all these phases. Ah, my current opinion on what a design system is is where we previously had design deliverables that were sort of like a design system, and then we had engineering deliverables that were kind of like a design system. Well, we have with a design system, it’s a merging of the two where designers have their symbols and their files that generally represent the same components that engineers are making and there’s like this coming together moment and a design system.

That’s what I think we’re currently personifying that as we’re before engineering had like a pattern, library or component set, and then the designers had a style guide. So what are some of the principles of a good design system? Ah, yes, okay! So, at a high level, I think a design system intends to make future us have easier decisions like in the future. I shouldn’t have to invent a new button. I shouldn’t have to invent a new login form like these.

Things should be solved already, so at a high level. That’s one of its most. You know valuable propositions. Is that future you, or even, if you’re, being really consider it like other customers of your design system, customers being maybe other development teams or the designers? Maybe even like the marketing team? You have people that want to use that those are. I call them your customers. So a good design system is considerate of them and it empowers them.

But I like a low level when you’re implementing a design system, you should have things like reusability extendibility. You should have accessibility built in. Essentially, these LEGO pieces should have solved a bunch of problems for other people already and and be battle tested and have gone through. You know: ok, I’m gesturing right now, but the gesture is imagine a rock that I’m tumbling into a pearl like we’ll take and then we’ll have a bunch of pearls to give so that other people can and get their tests done easier and also there’s some something About that, where you need interactivity as part of your design system right, I have seen some design systems that don’t just talk about the component.

They give you levers to pull so you can visit a page and there’s some tools out there that do this. Like a story book is one we have other tools coming like frame racks, so there’s like design tools that are coming out very either very focused on this one particular use case, or you have ones that are a little bit more documentation focused so they’re less like Compose and build and more like no tinker and play and assess what component you need beforehand, and I like that tangible learning it.

It’s really nice, especially for someone visual like a designer to come into a design system website and peruse and find a component and be curious and play. It helps get really sticky the features and the capabilities of that in terms of the life cycle of a design system. Is it ever really done or is it more iterative? No, I think they really only grow. I have seen them be reborn or we, you know, we’ve seen them bring reborn with brands or they’re reborn as complete redesigns, but no, I don’t think they’re done.

I think they’re growing. I think we’re making teams now to facilitate these things, because they are so difficult and they only grow in complexity because well, there’s considerations that are often lost like mobile. You know. A lot of design systems are like a look at our sweet, desktop design system and they’re like cool what to do on mobile. We’re like we’ll get there same with like accessibility and layouts and there’s like a few other things that I think some design systems can do to grow and be even better, and I think that’s just what we’re discovering right now, like folks, are playing and they’re trying To figure out what aspects of the design system are really meaningful on? What’s crufty and you know for young industry we’re all still learning kind of like what this means.

Do you have any examples of older design systems that we draw inspiration from today? Whoo, yes, okay, whoo, okay, so old design systems. I have a bunch of them that I’m a big fan of we could go back in terms of like inspiration and things that are influencing what we’re doing today and go back to print and be like print. You made beautiful style, guides or brand guidelines. You would give Legos to a client and that client could go put them on an envelope.

They could put them on some stationery, so that was a very early set of like Lego deliverables that had some rules and some intentions. Then you have operating systems that feel very much like design systems as well right. The first iPhone had a design system for sure they even had a document, the hIgG right, the human interface guidelines. I would like to see more Design Systems have a hIgG. Are we super cool all right, and then we had Android with Halo.

These are inspirations to me, Android with Halo, and remember that one dark and glowy everything looked like it had like lightning, bolts or like neon around it. Actually, you know what it looked like that was looked like that Batman movie was. I was like a UI based on that was kind of cool. It’s right. We had platforms, we had web kits, oh yeah, so this is like material bootstrap, html5, boilerplate, jQuery, Mobile yeah, those were and what they call those right, those weren’t design systems.

They were component. Libraries at UI framework, UI framework, yeah pattern. Libraries, they had all these interesting names. I think we also take inspiration from fashion. We have this kind of goal right now. I have this metaphor. I like to think about a design system. It’s like you’re trying to make a capsule wardrobe. That’s everyone else in the company should want to wear right. You’re like okay, I’m the designer.

We need to make uniform, looking things across our site and they should be familiar and an elegant, blah blah blah. So what they do is they go make this this design system? That’s essentially like making a set of a wardrobe like you can’t screw this up. Just walk in the closet. Grab a shirt grab, some pants grab. Some shoes grab a hat. Who cares? It all goes together and that’s a that’s a term from well.

I learned it from Pinterest. I don’t know where else it came from though, but the capsule wardrobe idea is this yeah grab and go wardrobe and we’re trying to make a grab-and-go design system. I’m going to hoppy and grab a couple things make a new layout, be on my way, so fashion, I think, is influencing us in that way too. They want to be very minimal. Alright, it’s almost like Marie Kondo, your your wardrobe like go in and pull all the stuff that doesn’t fit in the capsule.

Make it reduced set like reduce your anxiety by you, know, reducing your options, but I have a question about that like when you limit your wardrobe or you limit like your UI elements. Is it true that you can have one size fits all UI elements or sometimes you need to reach out and use something new and different, whoo right cuz, you don’t want to wear my clothes. Do you know yeah you should like dude, your wardrobe is well.

It looks like your wardrobe right like what, if I want to have my own looking clothes, and this is where it comes down to like well, and I have two opinions here. One is, I don’t think designers want to wear other people’s clothes. So it’s to me it’s a little interesting that we’re trying to unite. I think the goal is super right, like that. We do need to make reusable Legos that are extendable and and are helpful for future problems, but at the same time, the more you try to abstract and reduce these like very subjective visual emotional things into like little units.

They start to feel very functional. They lose some of that that excitement that creativity and I think people want to start breaking out of your design system at that point they feel trapped. So there’s like a there’s, a there’s, a struggle here with design systems, which is we want to empower everybody, but we want to not be trapped. We want to be able to pick clothes every day that are really easy for us, but then we want to be able to go out to a fancy dinner and not look like we’re dressing from our capsule wardrobe and especially if you have customers, customers want to Have unique aspects of the site, and so naturally they’re always pushing on the design system to extend even more.

This is a good shout out to to material and Google material. The new version looked at what their customers were, doing, which the customers for materials tons right. People all over the world using it from dashboards to mobile apps, and in that case they looked at how people were using it and people were constantly customizing it right. They didn’t want material, vanilla. They wanted material with my Flair, whatever that Flair was like right, like I want crunch material, so oblong it doesn’t exist, but maybe I should make it no, but yeah that they looked at their customers and they empowered them to customize, in an extent material as a Base, I thought that was really observant and it was like research-based it’s just a very, very nice plan for the next version of a design system to lean so heavy into customization and enablement of people to fork.

It’s almost like they’re letting people fork to to manage their own and they can still pull updates in that’s a really great segue into my next question, which is there was a comment on our previous article in March, the state of CSS, with you know, Kravitz our Guests and this commenter is cool twisted TV says the problem. Seeing lately is that most websites now look the same. It’s like they all have this standard template or something, unlike back in the day when flash was a thing, people used to create out of bounds designs along with tons of nice animations, but nowadays everything is flat.

All gridded up the same way with a few minor positioning tweaks here and there I miss those kinds of designs that today we rarely now see all because everyone is now into this flat and blocky design. Look slap a few fonts on a page and add a few pics and color on the background and you’re done: that’s 2019 for you. What do you think about that? You know we’re. Can an agency even working at startups? We couldn’t take a lot of risks and we were moving so fast.

The only thing to do was affirmative design. I think what this question is kind of poking at is affirmative versus critical design and they’re upset that everybody’s gone affirmative they’re, like ah you’re, just piling on to the currently socially acceptable design patterns and strategies. That’s so lame, which I agree, because I built a lot of flash websites and yeah. You could land on one of my experiences and it was like you’re in a fishbowl right.

It’s like fishing yeah. You could hover over the treasure chest and would pop open and bubbles would come out. It was way more critical, design way more like experimentation and in creativity was like. You were unfettered, but at the same time, if we think back at that because there’s, I think, a lot of joy and and fun that was there, it was less serious and it wasn’t really achieving inclusive design as well.

I think one of the reasons folks other than you know you know being safe – is that flat and and choosing some these modern strategies. They really make accessibility easier because you’re not going critically, you don’t have to go undo something to be inclusive, so I think inclusive design, which is a really impressive and great push that we’re doing right now. It’s also kind of inhibiting some of our exploration because we want to be able to reach as many people as possible and affirmative design is lolling right.

You visit it you’re like all right. Well, I don’t really have to stress, while I’m here or do very much deep, diving, there’s the navigation menu, there’s my primary reaction, but if I scroll down nope, there’s three little things that tell me about the feature this: the other features of this product. Oh Harry Roberts, today, Harry Roberts today writes this thing, which basically is like recoating.

This person yeah, I have a quote here flat design in the rise of more and more digital products, does seem to have killed off a lot of that exuberance and experimentation, which is a huge shame. I missed the days of seeing what adventurous and out-there things people were trying to create. You would log in every day just to see what crazy stuff people built, whether it was flash or web. I feel that I think, there’s a there’s another tweet.

I can never remember that guy’s name, I think it’s John gold huh. I remembered someone’s name. Wow we’ll have it. I know your name, yeah, Rick Vesco me mm-hmm screen name. This tweet, though, had two images up and it was like which site? Are you building the one on the left? Are the one on the right and they’re pretty much identical? They they’re like big there’s an app bar at the top there’s, a big header image with big diner was text in it.

That’s like there’s a problem and then underneath that it’s like what’s a solution right and they’re, both there and they’re the same they’re like the practically the bootstrap templates that you could get for free they’re, practically the the theme for every WordPress site is now looks like This and the coolest and most creative and critical ones might have a article playing right. What text overtop like put some extra effort into that one that pictures animated? Do you consider bootstrap to be a design system? I do.

I don’t think they do well, and maybe this comes down to where I’m I’m curious about what a design system is and how it’s different than a pattern. Library. I think I think it’s that designers were more involved in a design system, whereas, like bootstrap is very developer, led, I think design kind of came in a little bit later after their Legos got really popular and so yeah. I think I think their design system that just kind of got there in a different way and the result, the thing that they have the tangible thing I can go pick up off the shelf and just like place in my tool belt right.

I’m I’m Wayne right now from Wayne’s World, so I just got my like from the back of the car. If anyone remembers the Shockers anyway, whatever that’s bootstrap right now, I could go get that off the shelf and be immediately useful with it and solve my future problems. It’s like the same value, props that I got and and we’re sharing about a design system. You could get them from bootstrap, but it doesn’t call itself a design system.

I can’t remember what their home page says. I think they’re one so, according to the HTTP archive bootstrap, is used, unlike one out of every four websites, at least in some fashion, which is a surprising stat who knows to y’all, but could that contribute to this feeling that websites are all looking the same? If 25 % of the web is using bootstrap with the same type of layout, is it possible that bootstrap is a victim of its own success in a way whoo? I, like that phrase victim of its own success, yeah.

Yes, I I think they are this. This is funny. This reminds me of two two metaphors I don’t want to share like bootstrap is funny it like. If you think back to high school, there was probably a super cool band that their album just came out and you really little dead band, so cool and you listen to him a ton. They made a second album with Chapter four made, a second album when you’re like this Bay, it’s still cool or bootstrap three, and then it gets really popular and everyone’s.

Listening to him. It’s like some fool who you don’t like, shows up wearing the band shirt and you’re like okay. That’s it done with this print and you start calling them a sellout and the reality is just like they’re now popular they’re, not making money they’re successful. You should be happy for them, but instead you’re turning your nose up and like this, like defensive, disgust like I don’t want to use it anymore, even though all the stuff you’ve built with it was great all the music and moments you had with that band.

We’re really nice, but it’s hard for anything to stay in fashion for too long, that’s kind of like the second metaphors, like the Wardrobe, we all had favorite stores we shopped at back in the day whether it was zoomies or gap or whatever right, and these were Like places, we went to go, make easy decisions that helped us get on with our day and that we were still picking something like relatively cool and meaningful, but then it just gets old we’re kind of rude as humans.

You know we we we burned through stuff. All the time we consume it and we’re like this is so good and then we throw it in the trash. So I think bootstrap is a victim of its own success, but it’s also very much still a success. I think being successful is hard. I mean look at any big framework of like whether it’s a JavaScript framework or big design tool. As soon as you hit the big shots and like you’re the cool one, everyone wants to take you down and that’s that’s a hard life to be in so bootstrap.

Stick it out, I think it’s still a great product. It’s obviously just reaching a different market. Almost like the pop band right, the pop band Green Day right loves their first couple. Albums third one came out, didn’t want to play that band anymore, but they reached a whole new set of people, and those folks fell in love with them. In a way that I didn’t – and I shouldn’t say that Green Day is bad.

I should say that Green Day is successful and they’re reaching new people and I still like their dewy, so you’ve spent a year as a UX engineer at the Google cloud team, as designed systems engineer so to speak yeah. What was your experience on that team? Yeah? That was really I was oh, so illuminating, so yeah I was a my title was really long ready for this. I was a UX engineer on the design systems team of GCP through a design lens, so they have two different types of UX engineers.

There’s UX engineer, engineer and then there’s UX engineer design, so I was in the design side. I was in a team of four or five other UX engineers who were supporting the design system, which had a big team, and I this was really cool to see how much commitment Google had to their design system. In so much that this team was made up. Of three teams there was a trifecta. It’s like a triforce of folks were managing that design system.

That design system is creating jobs, and it was really interesting to see how all of them were working together. What problems they were solving. There’s two things. I want to point out the first one I think is really interesting in meta, which is Google here I’ll just start with the first one it was built on angular, so is angular, which was transitioning from material one to Google, material and angular was doing a good Job at this work, the the struggles that they had were with how many customers that they had.

So this is where I like this meta comparison. You have Google clouds and their design system, which they call their design system, a condensed version of material. So it’s like a child seam. It’s like they forked Google material and made an enterprise, condensed version, that’s not as airy and fluffy. That’s interesting, because that means Google Cloud is a customer of another design system. Simultaneously, they have hundreds of customers, so they’ve got customers that are internal right, App Engine there’s like various products and each one of those products has a team.

Each one of those teams are consumers of this design system. That’s crazy! Then you have third-party players. People don’t want to add plugins or other support and other features into GCP that also want to use your design system. So they had this really really unique scenario where they were simultaneously a customer of a design system and a producer of a design system. Anyway, yeah. It’s meta I liked it and they were really adamant and very good at listening to all of these different customers and trying to make this thing work for everybody.

But it’s a very difficult task. They’re hiring they have tons of headcount, because this is GCP is humongous and they need help that and the UX teams they are really fun and really cool. So, if anyone’s looking for roles GCP in seattle, we’ll put a link in the description yeah sure so you mentioned something earlier. I want to come back to inclusive design. What is that, and what is the purpose of it? Oh man, this is so inclusive design.

We want this is so funny. It has a name, because I feel like it’s the thing that everybody’s wanted the whole time. We want our content to be accessible for as many people as possible right like. Why did we have to put a label on that? And I think the label is there and what it means is you need to have a site, that’s accessible, which really means you just need to test. First testing your site for accessibility is always this awesome.

Empathy experience where you’re like. Oh no, my sites, probably fine on that. Then you go tap through you’re like it works. It’s not elegant and that’s sort of like inclusive design, is like taking that extra step to empathize research. Ask folks and adjust your design to be more inclusive. So this can come down to things, like contrast, ratios font weights than this tab flows and stuff, like that, so looking ahead, what do you see the role of components and future Design Systems? I think we’re only going to get more complex as things go on we’re noticing now that our components aren’t good yet still, especially once you get to inclusive design areas where you thought you were done, and then you go test and you’re like.

Oh we’re not done. Sometimes those can shake the whole foundation of your application, and I think it’s healthy, though, that people are investigating that other future things. I would love to see you know voice. We have so much voice interaction coming in. Why don’t? We have a design system for a voice. I think that I’d be really interesting green lines. I would like to see design systems providing green lines.

Green lines are an accessibility indicator, so we’re a red line. Is you just saying I intend for this avatar to be 45 pixels wide and 45 pixels tall with a border radius of 50 percent? So it’s a circle like you’re. It’s a traditional way of marking up a document to encourage or or be precise, about, the presentation that you want. Accessibility is a similar, similar push. We’re like I’m going to go in here and I’m going to look at this little form input.

I’m going to look at this form button I’m going to go and indicate that these three areas should be tab. Indexed this way and it’s sort of a designer taking control of the accessibility, experience and saying, and I’m just being very deliberate and clear about what it is. They expect this to do and yeah it’s nice. It’s the designers making those decisions, as opposed to leaning on front-end, to do it and how about mobile mobile is usually forgotten.

All right, so we’ve got components or it’s funny. Material most of the opposite material is mobile first and then you sort of have to expand on a couple things to get desktop to work most Design Systems. I see these days our desktop focused and then they they start to squish things down as things go. So I’d love to see mobile, included, more components, yeah good call. How do you see the relationship between designer and developer evolving? I want to see them communicating a lot more.

John Maeda recently had a very provocative titled article, but ultimately, what he was pushing for is a switch and strategy where traditionally he was a proponent of design LED. He was like yeah. The designer should be at the top of the company, maybe even like making all the decision it’s like. If you do that, then elegance is sure to be achieved and that’s successful in a lot of ways. But what he’s seeing now after a few years of this is that engineering is really really important to engineering is required in order for elegant design to even be achieved.

So what he’s saying is no designer, I’m probably going to you, know, butcher this title, but no designer will be more successful than another designer unless they’re integrating themselves richly with engineering. The pitch is the designer isn’t necessarily the leader of the show anymore. He kind of says you should be a supporting actor or actress, and even though that might be a little hurt, some hurt some hurting to your ego.

You can still go see a movie where the supporting actor actress was the star of the show. There’s just a relationship that needs to happen here. That’s just richer and deeper integration. Designers needs to be included more across the the wide array of design decisions that are getting made and a lot of those design decisions are made in code, so designers get in there meet those folks sit with them every day and try to have rich conversations about The engineering side of things and getting greens they’ll ask you and they’ll want your opinion.

I think I felt like engineers make a lot of decisions today that they’d rather not make, and it’s just because no one is there to do the decision-making for them or to tell them what it is. So they kind of have to make it up as they go, which puts the front-end engineer into an interesting predicament. Wait. I just thought of something else. This one is this one’s huge for me. Okay, so we have in the front end, especially the dependency graph is getting really popular and we have back-end dependency graphs.

We have CIA CD dependency graphs, there’s no designer dependency graph. So what I want to see is like two really weird things. First off, I want to see design files pub/sub, where I want a design file to publish the colors and publish spacing units and like some of these, like really atomic units like think of tail wind tail. Wind is this: for I’m anali reduced design system, they have a file and I love it because it’s almost like, if you were to did you see the movie perfume the story of a murderer? No, I was a creepy movie, but he did something interesting which he was trying to distill the essence of beauty into like a thing that he could hold.

I feel like tale when did that they took a design system and they looked at all the different pieces and they started just like organizing and and plucking them and putting them into a nice list, and I, like that JSON object. I think it’s not JSON. Actually, it’s JavaScript, which is another cool feature of tooling anyway. It’s JavaScript file that is the most reduced design system into like atomic units that I’ve ever seen, and what I want to see is.

I want to see design files publishing something like that for a front-end to consume, and then I want to front-end to publish data models and other things for the design file to consume. I want to see a bi-directional communication happening between design, apps and front-end development that I want designers in that dependency graph publishing values. This is like why I want them in CI CD, like I want designers reviewing PRS, I want them creating PRS.

I imagine this like you’re in your design file. You changed a base color because it didn’t pass a contrast ratio. You know over here and some other tests, so you push and you save a change. You publish the change, which creates a PR that other people can go review designers, making PRS bypass the developer, bypassed the developer. I think it’s a decision the designers were already making. It just was like this long-winded feedback loop to get that work in they’re like I’ve got other crazy ideas too, or I think your design system should be a dependency graph.

Work clearly articulates what dependencies it has and what dependencies it creates for other things to consume. I’d like to see designers making kubernetes Canary deployments, I don’t even like to see I pitched GCP on this. I think there needs to be a design, focused cloud integration so that you’ve got. You know really rich cloud dev tooling, but we don’t have rich cloud design. Tooling, like their little design tabs over there, that a designer can go in create an a/b test which essentially makes a canary kubernetes container that gets deployed to five percent of the users.

Now designers can be in control of features of the front-end through some epic and really cool cloud integrations yeah. I want designers, I well here’s a challenge. I don’t know how to get designers into the backend dependency graph. I like pretty clear ideas on how to get the front-end and how to get them in CICE, but I’d love it if, like service designers, were included in API design and somehow there was again a pub/sub mechanism between these two or like the API team is publishing Something and the service design team is publishing something there’s just so much so much opportunity in this space for designers to get more richly integrated into the processes that are happening on the development side.

It’s not creepy. It’s super rad, like I want designers doing. Cember their design system should be versions just like the app and optimally they should match. It’d be really cool if, like the design system was out v 1.0 point twenty one, and so was the front end right because it was a consumer of that version. There’s a lot of opportunity. I think developers would like to have relinquished control over things like changing.

Colors and if the system is built well changing the value in one place like this master file and having it applied downstream to every button and everything else that depends on that color. I think they would love that. I I think so too. I think we just need some tooling. I there’s a bunch of people working on apps. I last time I did research. There was like 15 of them, but it’s sort of developers taking a design system building it and then publishing those Legos in like a design app, and so that’s what we’re seeing we’re seeing a bunch of design apps coming out where developers are saying, hey, I’ve exposed The levers to these components for you in this cool tool, where you can now go compose our Legos together and build something new and play in an almost production feeling like design tool, but really it’s still kind of prototyping, because the code it’s making is kind of Anyway, I think we’re headed towards a really cool integration layer there, between designers and developers, where they’re going to be richly working with each other and designers, will start to get more intimate with, like minor details about a component like what a boolean is and why a Boolean is different than an enum and why they should care and because those things are cool, I don’t think they’re scary all does viz bug actually fit into that vision.

This bug yeah. So if is bug school is it’s got a few of them? One of them is designer developer communication. You know a designer is often in their design tool. Land over here they’ve got an art board and everything’s placed XY, which made it really easy for them to. You know, highlight multiple and drag and delete. They had this. Like direct manipulation, but what is a bummer about that world is that it doesn’t translate.

Well, somebody’s, always translating it. So I was like a front-end engineer. I would receive one of those and I start looking at it, nice translating it to code and what viz bug does is it it sort of takes what the developers are making and lets? You inspect their work like it’s an art board and I’m I’m seeing folks that are having better communication with their engineers because they can feel things.

There’s like an empathy, that’s starting to happen, because the complexity that is the front end, is now something that designers can contribute to. They can go poke and inspect and modify and an experience why some of these things are complex or experience. How easy some of the stuff is, and so this book is definitely in there in the game to help designers and developers communicate better. It has some features where you know.

If you modify some CSS, you can show what changed in screenshot that and send it to an engineer so there’s an opportunity to even be like super articulate to a developer about what it is you need, but it’s also this book has to set their goal. So it’s kind of Sophie’s book is kind of like Firebug for designers. Its goal is to provide the same thing that Firebug did for developers, but it’s something for designers.

So give me tooling, that’s familiar to me in the end environment that can help me make better decisions, and it does that I think really. Well it a bunch of cool features too I’ll, just like breeze over and really quick, but there’s there’s guides. So you can hover and see lines and detect measure you can do measurements, you can inch. You can hover and instantly see any styles that are there, and I’ve done a lot of work to make sure that those styles that you see are the ones that designers want to see.

You’re not going to see all the craft. There’s an ally and accessibility inspector same deal. You click it. You just start hovering on stuff and it’ll. Tell you accessibility, details, there’s margin and spacing visualizations now, so you can hover and see, padding and see margin separate, so the dev tools shows them together and mine shows them separate and I support multi select. So you can multi select multiple things and as a designer or an engineer and see how the spacing is creating all that white space like where’s the white space coming from.

Is it a margin? Is it pushing or is it so? Those are interesting? You can also create, or you can’t create well now, you can’t create, but you can delete you can cut, you can copy, you can paste, you can double click, any text to change it. You can change any foreground color, you can change any SVG. You can there’s a position tool, you can just select something and then drag it around the screen and totally ignore the document flow.

So there’s tools to help you work with the flow tools to help you work out of the flow. It’s about, like you, feeling unfettered and getting an idea out right there, and, and it should feel fun like I wanted. It’s almost like. I wanted to break the glass four designers on a web page like we’re, constantly pulling down these magical pieces of paper and they feel so far away for designers like I can’t change that I’ll just go back over I’ll, just screenshot it I’ll come over here.

I’ll add a white box and cover up that – and you know like make this whole Franken thing and then ship that back to the developer and be like. Please like. Can you do this thing here and, and I’m hoping that folks start to do that in the browser which kind of comes into another value prop, but I do want to cover really quickly like this book wants to be more well. I have this phrase: it’s democratized the DOM and really what that means to me is.

I want the web and designing on the web to be more inclusive. I remember when it was easier and you know we were on MySpace and anybody could just go grab some CSS and paste it on the page and be like. Oh that’s, fun. That makes my brain tingle and a nice fun way better and worse for better or worse right. That’s vis bugs the same way. I’ve read or worse, people can go visit a page and play, but I think what that does is it opens up for children and adults too to feel like they can play like there’s like it’s now kind of a sandbox which simultaneously, I think we start to Like when you, when you start to learn by playing it first, there’s there’s just something different about starting that way than like going to school, and I starting all serious.

So I’m hoping that this can help people who are serious but also help people that aren’t that serious, be more inclusive and I forgot whatever. The second thing I was going to say was but yeah I mean, there’s lots of interesting features of his bug, but it’s trying to help wants to wants to be the design, debugging tools des tools. Perhaps oh I like that. So what resources would you recommend for people who want to learn more about design systems and everything else? We talked about yeah Design Systems, okay, so whoo, there’s folks, there’s three folks did I’m a big fan of dan mall.

You know Kravitz and Brad Frost there. They’re super articulate vocal public figures that are passionately talking about these topics and helping you ramp up or ramp down. Dan mall recently has been helping people not over focus on the Atomics of their design system, because you can get super like wrapped up in a button, and he did this really funny thing at a list of part. Recently he showed just was so good.

You should a button on the screen and then showed four companies that that could potentially be the button for and he’s like who’s button. Is that and everyone’s like? Oh, I don’t know, maybe that one, it was a blue button right and so the point was we can over focus on these little things and that’s not your brand and he’s essentially pushing you to real, like step back a little bit and determine like what’s unique About your business and and make make components and designs some out of those like your value prop like how are you different, because the Atomics are atomic, I thought that was really nice.

Yuna has a bunch of really cool things that she’s been pitching as well. She’s. Pitching accessibility in your components, which I think is really healthy and and she’s advocating for maybe you don’t need one so sometimes, and this is something I’m a believer in too, which is often we want to be the top dog like now, and so we go do Whatever the top dog is doing, we’re like alright, I need you know, legendary armor.

I need a sword of the gods of the ten thousand XP right, and so we like, we show up and we’re like level one, but we’ve got all the gear and we’re like this will make me good right and it does to a point. But it can also be a bunch of baggage and, like you, can’t even make it through the door of the first dungeon because you’re like to cover it in gear right. You got like magic shooting out of each fingers.

So I like that advice too, which is like look at the phase that you’re in as a team look at the phase Etrian as a product. You know notice that GCP, which is a very very large product, has an entire team dedicated to this. Now it’s that complex there is absolutely value coming out of a design system, but you got to look at the ROI like how much you putting in versus what you’re getting out, and I think that’s what that warning is it’s like.

You can spend a whole lot of time on the Atomics of your design system. You can spend a whole lot of time, making it really robust and then nobody uses it. So you got to make sure you have customers and anyway. Those three folks are really good to go. Look up and listen to they’ve got plenty of material for you to study. Well Adam. This has been great picks coming on the show, absolutely yeah. I was really fun.

You can check out the links to everything we talked about in the description below thanks for reading and we’ll see you next time.

SEO for YouTube and s

I’m going to be talking to you about how to do SEO for YouTube a number two search engine and how to optimize your articles for higher rankings in that search engine. So Who am? I am stuff and Spencer, I’m the co-author of the art of SEO, co-author of social commerce and author of Google power search all published by o’reilly. I founded an SEO agency in the 90s called net concepts.

I sold it to covario in 2010. I invented an SEO technology platform called gravity stream and I have an SEO training and coaching program at science of SEO com. So that’s me, these are my books. If you don’t really care about that. You care about getting the result for yourselves and want me to share with you a little brief case study example of how you can achieve this. Even if you’re a kid my daughter and she started doing SEO and blogging when she was 14.

You can see in the screenshot here. She’s got some YouTube articles where she’s doing some screencast, showing some game, cheats and so forth for a neopets, calm website and how to earn extra lives or an extra points, and things like that, so she monetized the site using google adsense and every time people clicked On the google ads that were prominently displayed on her site, she would get paid. So if a kid can do it, so can you, but here is a one of the easiest tools of all to do.

Seo with for youtube is simply just start doing some searches or typing in some keystrokes into the youtube search engine and the search box. You’ll see search suggestions based on the keystrokes that you’ve already typed. So these are roughly an order of popularity that gives you some good brainstorming. You can also use a tool called suble, which I covered in another segment about keyword, brainstorming.

So if you go to sue volcom – and you start typing in some different keywords and see what the search suggestions are not just from youtube, but also Google and Bing and Yahoo and answers com and so forth – that’s pretty cool. You can also use google trends, but not in the way that you might be accustomed to. Let me show you specifically what I mean. So if I go to google.Com / trends and then I put in whatever like a neopets – and I want to see how that performs as a keyword in youtube well, I have to change from web search up here on the top to youtube search.

Most people don’t even know that that even exists. That option allows me to get data back on what keywords are popular in the youtube search results? Is that awesome or what so be sure to use google trends and incorporate that into your YouTube SEO a tool set? All right, so, let’s now talk about what to create in terms of article content, because if you create something, that’s not very worthy of being readed or or shared or liked, or anything like that, then it’s just going to fall flat.

It’s not going to go viral! It’s not going to get a lot of views, it’s not going to rank well because it’s just not remarkable and when I say remarkable I mean stuff codons definition of remarkable. It’s worth remark about it’s a purple cow, so you need to create something that is worth remarking about and the format of it doesn’t matter whether it’s a screen cast recording or it’s a article of you.

You know talking that sort of article or it’s a montage of different images or it’s an audio podcast with some still images added to it. So it is now in article forms and taking your audio podcast and you’ve uploaded it to YouTube could be any number of different things. But you know this unique article based content has to again be worthy of somebody wanting to share it, a link to it blog about it, etc.

So these are some different kinds of articles. This one is a explainer article. That’s one of those white board type of articles. Here’s an explainer article, that’s done as an animation. This one is a next. I guess you could call it an explainer article, but it’s just more of a viral article, really good Dollar Shave Club on the map. This thing went crazy, viral millions and millions of views. This is another type of whiteboard explainer article, but this one is, you know with the guy talking and explaining and having that.

Actually, this is not a white board as a flip chart. Here’s another whiteboard article. This is from one of my co-authors on the art of SEO, and this is a podcast, but one where they’ve taken the article of the podcasters speaking instead of using still images, they took article as well, and this is a fun science article. This is the past client of mine, steve Spangler, been on the ellen, show a bunch of times and everything doing.

I was crazy. Amazing science experiments and he has several different youtube blogs that do really well Spangler effect is one of them is also six science says another one and steve Spangler Science pocket or blog. This is a screencast which is just a screen recording and you can explain different software programs or you can go through PowerPoint decks like what I’m doing here. You can just use screen recording software, such as ScreenFlow for the mac or Camtasia for PC or Mac to record the screen, and your audio as the overlay here is a really popular example of a kind of an explainer article, but done with animation using xtranormal, where You pick the avatars and you give it the script and then the avatars speak the lines that you’ve given it.

This is a micro sites where it was live, article of a intern college intern who worked all summer long at the prophetic and melds headquarters. You know from Mentos the makers of mentos. He worked there just sitting in front of a webcam and then chatting with people who came to the mentos internal website as well as you can give them work to do I go. He can you fill out the spreadsheet for me and stuff, because what else is he going to do? Is just sit in front a computer all day in front of the webcam, so that was a fun viral live article stream websites that did really well in social media and got lots of links so just think outside the box.

Basically and then once you have this really compelling link worthy article content and you’re going to want to leverage power users to get that noticed by a larger audience and then potentially to spill over and to like go viral. Basically, and so you go get that that snowball effect happening or just keep growing, bigger and bigger and bigger, and then just kind of ticks off with a life of its own.

So you could create something that if it leverages an existing name or you create a new meme meme is a copy me instruction, backed up by threats and or promises. It’s a great definition from that’s the best definition. I’ve ever heard it’s from an expert, and professor and viral means you want to see your link worthy articles from a power user account. So you want to have power user in your back pocket that you can tap into somebody who has a big fan base.

So when they submit it, it’s going to get viewed by a number of people and then that snowball effect happens. You can also reach out to influencers and we’ll get to that little bit, reach out to influencers and offer that compelling content in a way that makes them want to share it. But it’s a lot easier, just to have a power user in your back pocket that you can just call in a favor with or or pay them some money and they seed your remarkable content.

Ok, so article content building, it’s got to be compelling, as I’ve said. You’ve got to hopefully reinforce the message of your brand around and pick the right keywords that you want to target use a watermark so that if people steal your article, your brand is still going to there’s still going to be brand impressions for you, even if they Ripped off your article and are using it elsewhere include links and references to your site like in the article description and YouTube description so forth, we’ll get to that in a minute.

So the title should be keyword rich and compelling. Should convince the user, the the YouTube user to click, to read your article. It’s one of the most compelling things. The only thing more compelling in terms of driving the clip from the youtube search results is the thumbnail. It’s important to be a concise but also keyword, rich, it’s kind of a balancing act, keep it to the 62 character or less limit and short and punchy and compelling is the key here.

The description, here’s an opportunity for you to further add more relevant keywords into the mix and to differentiate yourself from competitors and provide a unique son proposition. A really great call to action, put a link to your site high in the description. So they don’t have to click on the show more link to a button to see your your link, but it’s maybe the first line of the description tags are important as well.

So tags would be keywords that are going to and get this magic happening in the back, and you don’t see what these tags are. As a youtube user, you’d have to use you have to view source and give you the HTML source to see what those tags are in our competitors article but anyways, it’s it is used in the ranking, Doug rhythm at need you to again you want to do Your keyword, research before you identify the tags that you want to incorporate, don’t use throwaway words like and and 2 comma separate these tags and put them in order of importance to you.

So the most important most popular keywords should be the first ones in the list of tags yep. So let’s talk now about annotations. Annotations are a great way to drive, clicks and different user actions. If viewer is reading the article – and you really want them to subscribe, your blog to like the article to visit your website to whatever right you want to make those calls to action in the side of a an annotation, and these annotations can be added later.

After the article has been published and everything a lot of these things can be changed and, added to after the article has been published on YouTube, you can go back and change the title: the description, the thumbnail, the annotations and so forth. Let’s yeah: let’s ask people over location, we’ll talk now about thumbnails, because this is so so critical. This is the screenshot over. On the right hand, side comes from the blog of vat19.

Com vat19.Com you tube. They have over 440 million views across all of their YouTube articles and it’s amazing. They have some articles that have tens of millions of views, so pretty amazing and they’re all product articles. They saw all sorts of crazy stuff like 26 pound me bears, and things like that, so you can see from the screenshot that their thumbnails are compelling. They make you want to click and not just some talking head.

The worst kind of thumbnail is one: where just looks super boring. You can upload your own custom thumbnail. You just have to have a you. Just left a bit a verified youtube account, so just specify a mobile phone number. It will YouTube, will send you a text message with the verification code. Then you use that in the verification you can just type in that code into the YouTube site boom. Now your verified user and you can upload custom thumbnails.

It doesn’t even have to be a frame from the article it could be completely. Custom announced all sorts of graphics on to it, etc. All right now formats, don’t matter, could be a avi or WMV or whatever lanes of the article try to keep it short of. Like definitely less than 10 minutes, I’ve say even less than five minutes make it concise and punchy. The usability expert, Steve Krug, who wrote don’t make me think, says this write copy for your site and cut it in half and cut it in half again.

Do same thing for your your article transcripts or your article scripts, just to make it punchy short and sweet and value high value. Add, and also bear in mind as far as metrics are concerned for YouTube, is paying much more attention not to the number of views for your article, but to the percentage of your article that users read that’s a key key metric transcripts. So if you override YouTube’s auto-generated transcript with your own you’re, going to have a much higher quality transcript, because if you look at the caption of the caption text or transcript text that is auto generated by YouTube, it’s full of errors, it’s a joke! So definitely you want to upload your own version.

That’s all corrected even better. If you can also upload foreign language translations of your transcript, then people can read the version of your article in their foreign language. The audio is still the same, but it now has closed. It has subtitles, so that’s pretty awesome and then now you’re, showing up in foreign language search queries to on YouTube. You can use services to pit you pay a service to create a transcript for you, like dotsub or automatic sync, and never turn off the ability for users to like and dislike your article.

It’s a crucial part of user engagement and likes, or it’s a crucial metric that YouTube looks at right. So when you build links to your article on YouTube, also build links to a web version, that’s like embedded on your website or a microsite, and, for example, Blendtec has all these viral articles of the founder tom dixon blending, ipods, iphones action figures rake handles the golf Clubs, etc, etc.

In his blenders, that’s pretty fun to read, but if he only got links just to the YouTube articles, that would not help his SEO as much as if he also got links to his his own website and what they did was to created. A separate microsite called. Will it blend calm because Blendtec calm is all about e-commerce buying their their product, whereas will it blend? Calm is all about those viral articles.

If I’m a journalist writing about those viral articles, I’d want to link to the microsite as well as link to the YouTube blog. So that’s a great way to get some additional SEO benefit by having really popular articles. You could also consider syndicating your article onto other popular article sharing sites, like blip TV and metacafe, and so forth. You could use a tool like drop load to do that in a more automated fashion.

So you don’t have to go to each site individually. You can upload it once and then use drop load to upload it to all the different places that you specify reference. Your URL of your YouTube article and your RSS and M RSS feeds. Mrs S is multimedia or media, really simple, syndication feed for folks who are grabbing podcasts and so forth, automatically on to their into their itunes and so forth. Let’s see so those are some tips for article link building and then anchor text is going to be important when people use words like click here or check this out or read.

This, then, that’s not as helpful as, if they’re, using keyword, rich phrases, because google, the search engines in general, associate the anchor text of the underlying words in the link with the page that’s being linked to. So, of course we want diversity. We don’t want it to look overly engineered with the same keyword, rich phrase appearing all over the place. That looks not legit, but we want diversity and keyword, rich anchor text to a some degree to a limited degree.

We want to go over the top and then also just measure your success using YouTube analytics using Voot and boot looks like this. This is giving you really great insight into not just number of views, but other YouTube engagement, metrics like likes and dislikes favoriting comments. Article replies etc and it tracks your youtube search rankings too. I don’t know of any other tool that tracks your youtube search.

Rankings probably potentially may be tracking. Your search rankings in Google and Yahoo and Bing may be using to like Authority, labs or Moz calm, but what about your youtube search rankings? It’s the number two search engine. So that’s where food comes in via OT net and then turn off your article statistics in your youtube articles, because you don’t want your comment to be checking you out and looking at things like the trend over time and views and time readed and subscriptions and so Forth, that’s for your eyes only! It should be so turn that off it’s just a simple little checkbox to disable that so here’s where you do it, you just tick the box that says one tick, the box that says make these stats publicly available.
