If you’re strong to know what it is that you need to put into those emails, then today’s article is all about that hi. My name is Kerry, Oakland and I’m an online marketing and social media coach, and I hope you move your most aligned clients from discovering who you are online through to investing with you using storytelling strategy and systems, and today we’re looking at the storytelling inside that automated Email sequence: now I had a bit of a framework that I use all my automated email sequences.
Now I say this is a framework, because the reality is when I work with this work in this framework with my clients. Often we end up bringing in different emails into this sequence. They might make on two orders and there’s different stories. So sometimes we will look and do the storytelling map which I’ll provide a link to here, but once we’ve done them that really identifies some neat powerful stories that we know just have to go into this email sequence.
But we always start with that framework. To begin with, and then change things as we see opportunities or if we know more about the ideal client and how we can shoot them from, obviously the free offer to a paid offer. So the system is called access, and this is how it looks. The first email is a in Access, and that is our aspiration or problem. So what we’re doing here is delivering the gift to them, we’re giving them that free thing that they’ve actually opted in for so that we’re delivering on our promise that we had on the landing page and, of course, this email also is an opportunity to welcome into Your community and tell them a little bit about yourself just a couple of lines that really and is a statement for positions you and your authority in this space.
So that’s our first email, a second email that we have in the sequence is the C, which is the cause or the. Why and the reason this is so important is because it allows people to understand and get to know who you are and why? What you do is so important to you, and we already know the Sun Senate quote: I’ve heard it a million times before that people don’t buy what you do they buy. Why you do it? So this is a great opportunity for you to be explaining to your audience these new people who have come into your audience, who you are why you’re so passionate about this, and then you start building that connection with them.
If they don’t believe in your cause and your, why, then they’ll jump and that’s fine they’re, not the right fit for you, but the people who really resonate with your message and will love you for this particular email? Next, the third one in Access and that’s current belief systems now you’ll find that are your ideal client orany has made up some excuses, or some reasons or already has some beliefs around.
Why they’re not going to invest with you it’s what we do when we land on a on a sales page, we’ve kind of come up with all the reasons why not to buy or to invest in this or work with this person. So you need to be able to overcome all of those objections before they even get to see your sales page or your offer. So this is where this email can play a really pivotal role. Now there are different beliefs that people have their beliefs that we have about our industry, based on what other people in your industry are doing, and so people have a perception of who you are, whether that’s true or not.
Then we have internal beliefs. So these are the stories that we tell ourselves those things that say, I’m not good enough, and you know there’s those fear, fear-based stories that we tell ourselves and then there’s some external ones, which is usually the economy, is bad. Now is another good time to invest or those sorts of stories. Other people tell tell so you need to do is highlight which of those are the most relevant.
I choose one if you want to do a couple of emails. Sometimes I have clients who it’s really important for us to do more than one a monkey, because there are a couple of really really strong beliefs that we know that we need to overcome in this sequence. And so we take those and create our stories that chain that shift their belief system, so it shifts them from believing that this is true. This is true where they can’t, when they won’t be able to invest completely understanding.
Why looking at things, I guess from a different perspective, so they’ll be able to see things from your point of view and have a better understanding of how this is going to solve their problem, because in the end, this is what it’s all about is about solving Their problem and helping them next in access is e, which is endorsement, and this is about getting some case studies or testimonials, to be able to share in your newsletter.
Now. There is nothing more powerful than social proof to know that you have already helped somebody else and we the problem that they have and they can see the tangible results at the end of it. In the end, that’s really what people want. They want the transformation they want to know that you can take them from a and get them to me and if you can show that you’ve done it for other people who are just like them, then that’s really powerful.
Now, right now, I’m doing a heap of case studies for a particular client we’re doing them for a blog. But the reality is that these case studies we’re not looking for the best story that you can possibly have all the one with the biggest results possible, because sometimes your ideal client will feel if I to removed from that story. What you need is an ideal client who is just like the people that you want to attract, and you tell their story because they can relate to it.
They want the same results and it’s far more powerful. As far as storytelling goes now. The last two steps in Access is the two S’s which are sales. Software sales, of course, is where we’re trying to head with this. We don’t want to be a key or pushy or film in the walkthrough. Women appear people in to find something which, in all reality, who meets two buyers remorse. We don’t want to go there, so what we’re doing is inviting them to work with us.
Really that’s what the sales email is. It’s showing the value of what you’re able to provide for them and the transformation that you can provide, how we show up and why you are different and why you were unique and your system so that they know that you’re. The person that they want to invest. In so those two arms, two final emails, the sales based emails still have stories in them. You can still open with a really powerful story, and that can be a personal story.
It can be working with a client’s true, it can be another case study style story. If that makes sense, if you’ve got really powerful them, but that’s what we’re looking for in the last two is to actually invite people to work with you, because the reality is. If we do this entire email sequence – and we never asked them to work with us, then they don’t know what the next step is so hopefully – and that’s helped you with getting a little bit more of an idea of the types of emails and types of storytelling That you need in your automated email sequence, that takes people from your opt in offer to your paid offer and, as you can see, it’s quite simple, it doesn’t need to be overly complex and by using that story tail and we take away that sales.
We feel that we earn that you may have seen in other types of email sequences, so access again is aspiration or problem caused or why current belief system endorsement and then to soulful sales emails. I’r actually connected an account. I’d normally don’t use just because my other account already has it set up once you get to the signup page you’ll be asked to give your account name right, so I can call this, for instance, NBA 590 digital marketing right and then you need to give it Your a website name right, so this will cause the digital marketing research website right.
So in this case, I’m just going to use the Wix website we set up earlier in this class. So if I go over to Wix right, I have the website right here that I can use. There’s the URL bill, Randwick site.Com, slash and BFM 90. I just pasted in there. You have to set a reporting time zone. We obviously probably want on these certain times since that’s where we are and then you can talk about which accounts are sharing, then once you get the get a count button, you have to accept the Terms of Service, but after that, it’s just a matter of actually Getting what’s called the tracking ID, and this tracking ID number is the most important piece of information.
Google Analyst will give you as long as you have that code. You can essentially track any page on any website if you can embed code into that website right, so they actually have the code right here right talking about it, and so this is the code you need to use now, if you’re building your own website from scratch, They actually give you the JavaScript to embed in the website itself. So once I have this code, I can go back to Wix just copy and paste the code, so copying tracking ID and I can go back to Wix and I can go to management at the site and if you look on the left hand side down here, There’s something called tracking analytics right and then I can.
I can’t do it right now, because the fact I haven’t upgraded haven’t paid the money, but then I would normally just be able to paste the code in and as soon as I do that Google will start tracking all the hits to the website right so and If I want – and this also works with other things like I’m – Google, if you have a Google site site, there’s a place where you can paste that code in if you have a wordpress site right, there’s a way that’s hosted by wordpress.
Com, you can paste that code In so all these different ways you can hook up your website to Google Analytics okay, I’m going to switch accounts, because this account is kind of easy to start. This up doesn’t have much data in it yet, and I switch it to my other main account, which actually I have been tracking using google analyse for a while. So I can show you off the reporting functions, but this is how you get started.
Setting up the Eco, oh okay, so now I’m logged in to my other account which actually tracks my personal website bill ran org and I don’t get a lot of traffic right. It’s just a personal academic web page. I don’t really try and drive much to it, but you can kind of see what kind of stats I’ll get right. So the main page when you come in just shows your user traffic. How many users you’ve seen recently over the last few days and compares it to the few days before that, so this is looking at.
It looks like it’s looking at all week ago, right at every comparison point for the last five days right. So you know right now: I’m seeing you know twelve users over the whole time across thirteen sessions, which means only one person’s a returning user, I’m seeing a bounce rate, meaning they come to a website and leave immediately in about 23 % and the session duration. On average is one minute and six seconds right: don’t have any active users now, if you had active users, then you can actually see what they were currently trapped.
Looking at, if you scroll down a little bit, you can see. How do you acquire your your traffic? It looks like most of mine is organic search like people looking for me with a little bit of direct search as well, and this guy shows the same thing essentially, and this would show you any websites that point to your website. But, as I said, there’s not a lot for me so that doesn’t show up too much. You can also get users by time of day, one of the most likely to visit your website.
I seem to have a weird peak at between 4 & 5 in the morning on Mondays, but you know: there’s not a lot of data points there. Yeah I’ve got to see where people are coming from and for my case, they’re coming from the US, Brazil or the Netherlands a little bit so and what are the top devices? What devices are using? What pages are they going? How are your active users trending over time right, looking at monthly, weekly and daily information? How well do you retain users right like if a user comes in March 4th? How likely are they show up two weeks later right and you could set up goals and I actually have set one goal just to kind of show you a little bit about how you do that.
So my goal is a very simple: it’s actually a funnel type goal right, so I want people to download a page paper right. So what a funnel goal does is it says I’m going to set up some step points that they want to hit along the way and each of those step points track. How many people are there, so I can figure out where people are falling off right. So right now you know how many people visit my main page well, 13 and the time since that we’re looking at right now, no sorry forward, one so excellently, and then how many people went to the research page and none did in this time period and then From there I have a journal papers page how many people to go there and how many people actually downloaded the paper.
I was looking at right so right now you can see that people aren’t finding the research page, so this would kind of give you some evidence that maybe I should highlight that more right. Maybe I should make that part of the front page material talking about going to my research page and potentially downloading okay right. This shows you where they went right. So a lot of people actually went to my buy out my I biography or the CV or something else along those lines.
So this is how you can kind of start to set up funnels to track where people are going now. This is for that on all these tables. What you’re being shown is the the time period is set at the top, so in this case it’s April 11th April 2017. 2018. You can also set up a comparison if you want right, but let’s say I wanted to look at like the whole year right. I can change this to he built eighteen, twenty seventeen to April 2017, 2018.
Alright – and this will process all the data and you can see that actually over the whole period, people do make it to my research page, but no people downloaded the exact paper that I had tagged do for the family right. So that’s kind of interesting and it gives you a little more insight as to what’s going on now. Let’s talk about all the data you got here, so we talked a little bit. We mentioned briefly real time.
So real time provides you of insights into what people are doing right now and since my site, it’s not too active, no one’s there right. The audience heading is great. It provides you information about who your audience actually is right, and so it starts by just showing graphs of frequency of visitors, but then you can get into things like the language. You can look at the country they’re coming from what city they come from right.
What browser they use, what operating system they use and who their service provider is right and then, if it’s a mobile connection, you feel your operating system, again service provider and even the screen resolution, which gives you an idea of how the best design your offerings to Make it fit that space right? Of course, all this data can also be exported out right, and so you can grab it and then use whatever be else.
You want to look at it. Let’s look a little bit more. Actually, I wanted demographics, so the demographics right allows you to see kind of in detail who Google thinks these people are right, so it turns out. Most of my users are in the 25 to 34 category. It was some in 1824, seven to thirty five to forty four, it’s about fifty four percent male and forty five percent female and a lot of people seem to be interested in sports, individual sports running walking, as well as consumer electronics and food and drinks, and travel Right, and so these are all different things that maybe that you know, because I’ve listened in my Strava profiles and stuff like that people are finding me through those ways right, of course, the interest category kind of breaks this is kinda, gives you some of the same Information as to what’s kind of interesting there, you can enable more comprehensive by enabling advertising features on your space.
You can look at. We’ve talked a little bit about geography of me in the overview, but you can also break it down by geography so of the the German speakers out there. How many users do I have how many are new, what is their bounce rate right and what? How many beats a session right actually interesting enough here right? It looks like the I think this is Chinese actually are some of the the most frequent users.
They spend the most time on my website right. So that’s kind of an an interesting way to break down by who is actually spending time where, because they spend almost three minutes on a website. Oh, you can also look at behavior right. So are these new dude new users have different behaviors and returning users right? Do how how many, how often do they visit your website right and you see, there’s something a lot of users only visit my website once but there’s a few users who have been there many many times right, then you can start to look more breaking down behavior By browser I know us, you can start to look more break down behavior by mobile platform, right or mobile device, desktop mobile tablet and all this kind of the additional information.
Now, let’s talk about the next, so that’s all just taking look at the audience. Tab right and looking what that gives you, let’s talk a little bit about acquisition, so acquisition is how do people find your website, and you can see from my setup right that the vast majority of people find my website either through social media right or through organic Search right with direct typing, they just type in – and that’s probably me honestly, given the numbers of they just directly type in building a network.
Now for each of these categories, you can get a little bit more breakdown. So if I click on social, for instance, a lot of people come to me through LinkedIn, the fair number through Twitter and that’s moderate number through Facebook right with almost no one coming to me from Instagram or pin board, I didn’t even know it had been born Account the linked here so that’s kind of an interesting breakdown right.
If you go back to the overview on blogs right, I can, for instance, click on organic search. Now I I don’t have this set up very well right now, because the fact I have some redirects going on and things like that, they’re screwing, with the results. But normally what you would see is for all 121 users who typed in the some keyword. They would present the keyword that they use to find your website right now.
Actually it turns out there’s something that Google does poke. Google search console – that’s almost of anything better at solving this particular problem right, but this does give you some insight into what people are doing and then you can look at Adwords, so your search console right to make analytics a search, console work together by the way You do have to have. You do have to link the account so I’ll show you how to do that shortly.
So this shows what page people are landing on when they get to my website through organic search right a little bit of the countries and additional information. So at audience our position next step down is behavior. This shows you what they’re actually doing once they get to the website right. So the vast majority of users start on my main page. They may be the lot of them drop off. I was 57 % bounce rate the highest next likely step is to the bio, with the CV being a pretty close beyond it right, and so this kind of shows you where the head along the way, and then you can look to see what content is the Most popular on your website, so my main page, is by far the most popular for my CV, my bio being behind it right.
You can look at things like how fast it takes the various pages on your website to load in different browsers. So you can get an idea of whether certain things can be optimized better and if you had a site search set up right, which is like a search box that Google is maintaining analytics on. You can also get information about that, so I kind of jumped ahead at the very beginning talked about behavior conversions right, but you saw the funnel visualization.
That’s obviously something you can set up and then go through looking at how they they work on that. So that’s a brief overview of Google Analytics. I hope it’s been helpful. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please let me know Thanks

I’r trying to reach in with something here. Okay, all right guys, so let’s get started we’re going to be talking about SEO today really cool subject – and you know it was like the thing ten years ago, when I got into it and then social media kind of took over and kind of fell by the Wayside and that’s a shame because if you don’t do this SEO stuff you’re missing out on traffic, you know, can you get on the first page? Well, I’m going to give you an example of that today.
If you can get on the first page or not, and I’m going to show you exactly how it’s done, no BS, it’s live stuff. I actually recorded myself doing it yesterday and I’m going to have it in this session today and then by the end of the session you’re going to know how to do it too. So that’s pretty awesome so how to use SEO to get traffic to your site and by the way I want to make sure betting hear me that was dumb.
Why should I ask that in the very beginning, but tight in that comment section who you are where you’re from what the weather is, what time it is whatever it is just so I know you can hear me here. I don’t want to be talking to just Jessica, though I don’t mind talking to her. The whole idea was to train you guys so just type in that section there, the comments section this is private. To understand that all your comments are going to be anonymous.
I’ve turned it off, so it’s not public so that people can ask whatever they want and just type in their your name where you’re from I see Wow looks like Bob. My daughter lives down there. Now she lives in Tampa a matter of fact. She’s going to have. She got pregnant and she’s already got a two-year-old and she is pregnant with twins how about that guys? She’s got twins on the way she already had one kid she’s going to add two more to it. My dogs going crazy here, her doorbell just went off and she knows the ring doorbell, so she’s going crazy over that all right.
So let’s jump right into this and see what we got going on. Okay, what is SEO? Let’s define it first, so we can kind of see what SEO is all about, and you know why we do this stuff. I mean, what’s the point in even doing it right, so SEO is defined as search engine optimization. Well, what does that mean? It’s the process of getting traffic from the free or organic or editorial or natural search results on search engines.
So, basically, when somebody types something into a search engine, the results that come back are pages that have SEO done to them, and I’m going to show you exactly how to do that today, we’re going to use a wordpress site as an example, but you know we Do it in magenta, oh and you can do it in Shopify or wherever you, but first I. What I would like to do is I want to go through the best practices and we’re going to start with titles.
Now the title when you type into the search engine will show this to you in a second, but the title is the first thing you see in them below that’s the description on your titles. We want to make sure your title should be written like this. It should be like the primary keywords and then secondary keywords, matter of fact, my wife’s doing a blog now on YouTube, and we were just discussing that she’s going to have her primary keywords and then your secondary keywords, and then, after that you can put the brand.
You could put your name if somebody’s searching for you on YouTube. You know you can put your name and then that way, your articles, your blog, will come up. You want to avoid duplicates. Duplicates, will not be any good it used to be years ago. You could put like you know: hot rod, cars, hot rod, cars, hot rod, cars and the more times it appeared. Then the search engines would make it come to the top and now what they do.
Is they penalize you for that? So you don’t want to put duplicates in there, okay duplicates or a no. No, it should be between 55 and 60 characters. This has been going around for years. Some people say 70, some people say 59, but I say 55 to 60 would be a safe one and then below that you’re going to have your descriptions and your best practices for descriptions are number one. Your description should be compelling and interesting.
So your your description really is a. I guess. It’s like a way of selling them to click on that site. It should say something that’s going to make them want to click on the site. You want to once again avoid duplicates. Duplicates no longer. Do you any good, just put it in there one time now that doesn’t mean that you can’t have you know hot rod, cars in your title and a hot rod, cars in your description.
You can do that, and that is advisable, but you don’t want to have like hot rod, cars. You know several times in your description: that’s not what you’re going for it should be between 155 and that should say 160. It says 60 155 in 160 characters including spaces and do not use any quotations or anything that is non alpha characters Google’s gotten really sensitive. To this I mean I ran an ad the other day and I had capitalized a word and that had got disapproved because I capitalize the whole word.
They they won’t. Even let you do that so don’t mess around with any of that. He won’t even show, and in some cases they won’t bring back your page because of that, so you don’t want to do that. You can’t you can’t game it anymore, that’s all over with all right. So what we’re going to do now is I’ve recorded me going in here doing some of this and showing you some of this, so I’m going to start that now we’re going to have a question-and-answer in the end.
So in the meantime, if you want to type in your comments and your questions, you can do so in that comment. Section Jessica – and I is going to be monitoring that, but let’s jump right in here and take a look at what all this stuff is. Okay, so let’s talk about what these meta titles are and meta descriptions are. These are things that you’re actually putting into your website on the back end, and I’m going to show you how to do that in just a second.
But what I want to do is I want to point them out to you in a Google search, so you can see what they look like. So if I wanted what would somebody search for best barbecue rib recipe? So obviously, if I type this in that’s what I want, I want that to come back as a search result. So immediately you can see recipes and if you notice these ones here, food network’s got – and this is pickle – this one right here – okay.
So this is one of the first results here, best barbecue ribs and it looks like there’s a article because they do give preference to articles. So this is obviously a recipe of barbecue ribs, but I want to look at how they optimized it. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to go in here, we’re going to view the page source and we’re going to search it by hitting ctrl F and we’re going to do title.
Okay and let’s see what we’ve got here, we may have to get a lot of titles in here 147, but I want to find the title for those are all header titles there. It is so here’s the title best, barbecue ribs ever recipe and if you notice I typed in best barbecue ribs, this is Katie Lee Food Network title, so it it really work. Well, let me do description real quick, so I can kind of show you and I can’t type alright it.
Let’s get to the actual description there. It is description, meta name, description’ content get best, BBQ ribs ever recipe from Food Network. Okay, so you know they’ve really. Optimized this well, and if I go back here when I look at that results, it says best BBQ ribs ever recipe Katie Lee Food Network. So if you look at this right here guys, this is the meta title here: okay, now they’ve actually got their recipes showing up because I got picked, but the description comes just below it here.
So, in this case here you’ve got the actual title they throw in the website right below it, so you can see where you’re going now they didn’t used to do that and you can see most of the most of the recipe time is relaxing all the ribs. Follow along so what what this is is. This is your meta title. This is your description. This is your meta title. This is your description in all these cases here. So that’s what you have to optimize for now: let’s move on and actually look at one of our web pages, so you can see how we have optimized it for our survival fav food brand, okay guys! So here I am at Google and you know.
Obviously, we want our products to come up when people search for them, but we don’t want to optimize to general. So I’m going to give you a couple of examples here, at least so can meats that are for survival purposes primarily now, some people will actually buy our canned meats and they’re not buying up that, but because they’re just good quality and they eat them. Let me give you an example: so I’m going to type in canned meat, okay and we’re going to see what we get now, if I just type in canned meat you’re going to see that you know we don’t show up anywhere in here.
Okay, because we’re not optimized for canned meat or optimized for survival, so if I put can meet survival, so you see what we get ah number one result here is our product there. It is on Amazon, so we got three million six hundred thousand results. So that’s something it’s pretty hard to get at the top of the list for that, but let’s see how what we did there. We are at Amazon, okay, so we’re not freeze-dried and we can click on it there and go to that product and sure enough.
There’s our product, so we are on the first page of Google, so let’s look down a little bit further. Look at this. The the next thing I see is one of our retailers here this is survival warehouse and they sell our products and there’s our products. Ok, very good, so let’s look a little further and then we’re in here. We are the third result out of three million six hundred thousand, and if you go to our link there, that’s our web page you’re, going to find there.
We are there’s our candies and that is literally the category on our website that we’ve optimized now the way you can tell this is I’m going to go into the source code view page source code and I’m going to actually let you see how we’ve optimized this So the way you go about this is you go into the source code. I know there’s a lot of jumbled bunch of coding stuff in here and I’m not into lists either, but they did have to learn it so on a keyboard of an apple, it’s command.
F – and it brings up this little search here and I think it’s ctrl on Windows – I haven’t used Windows in 70 years, so I couldn’t tell you, but the first thing we’re going to do. Is we look for title okay? So when I type in title here and I hit enter it’s going to pull up the title when I type in title here is going to pull up the title now, if you notice on here the title is canned meats. Okay, so that’s pretty you know.
That’s pretty on for that and the reasons canned meats is because that is that category, so that short title actually got me there. Now, if you look below title you’re going to see description, best, survival, food storage, best camping food and supplies, and that’s right there, so you can see that and you can actually search this. If you want to do description – and you could do it that way too and use the description because the next one here we go there, we go.
That’s the first one. We had their best survival food storage, so we can see that that is actually working for us, which is pretty cool. Now, let’s try something else. Let’s go back and let’s say we were looking for it particular say: we wan na can need survival chicken, let’s say because we do chicken, pork, beef, turkey and ground beef and look at that chicken. So ours comes up number one and that’s out of eight million results.
Amazon’s got this first spot in the second spot. Survival warehouse looks like this other guy here, so I will sell it on. We have a lot of retailers and then we’re right here so we’re on the first page here and we’re on the first page here now. If you look at this, it says mixed case full case 12 cans hundred and eight servings quick overview mixed case can meet food storage. 28. Ounce cans includes three beef, chicken, turkey, okay and then down.
Here it’s got chicken beef turkey. So we pretty much own. This page here, if they’re searching for any type of canned meat, let’s change this to pork, see what we get, and it looks like this guy here to the article on our product here and if we scroll down there Amazon. It’s got one case here: let’s see, if that’s us and sure enough, it is us, there’s our product and let’s see what else we can find here: amazon canned meats, there’s a mixed variety.
That is us, that’s our sample pack and if we go back one more time, I just want to see how were ranking on this page you’re going to. I want to show you that this stuff actually works. If you do it properly survival Sullivan’s there and he sells our products and there we are again canned pork, food storage, survival, K. Food y-serve allocate food for survival, cave canned, food storage meat, each of our invisible trunk table.
So that was a little too long of a description there, but, as you can see, we pretty much on this page here, so this stuff does work if you put it in correctly. Okay, so now that we’ve shown you some of the search results you can get by, you know going to Google and all that the next important thing is how the heck do you do it? I mean how do you put these titles and these descriptions and all this stuff, then what do you use now? What I’ve done is I’ve logged into one of my wordpress websites? This is one where you know I sell courses and training and that type of thing – and it has a blog on it – article blog, actually and actually there’s some written blogs in here too.
But what I want to do is I want to show you exactly how to put this stuff in and exactly how you should go about it. So you get the kind of results we get now. The first thing you’re going to need to do is you’re going to need to go over here to plugins and I’m going to click on plugins, and it’s going to show all my plugins. I want to show you the SEO plug-in that we use. So let me scroll on down here and here it is right here it’s called SEO ultimate, so you can search SEO ultimate when you’re installing plugins, and let me show you how to do that real quick here.
If I wanted to add a new one, I would just go here and then what I’m going to do is type in SEO ultimate and it should locate that thing for me, alrighty, so a whole bunch in here guys. So you want to make sure you get the right one, because, oh my goodness, you get the wrong thing. It’s not good! Okay, I will find it there. It is SEO ultimate. This is the one we have here. This one here is kind of an older one, but it works well for us, we use it.
It is free. There are more out there that you know cost you money or that you know aren’t free. So you know you can pick what everyone that’s the one. We have in here it doesn’t holder one so anyhow, what we’ve done is we’ve installed it and if we go to our plugins right here once again, I showed you where it was at you scroll down here, one more time get down there. I go past it. If I knew my alphabet, that would probably be a lot easier, so there it is SEO ultimate and we probably should change this one to a newer one, because this hasn’t been updated in a long time.
But it’s working so we’re not going to worry about it. Right now, so the next thing we’re going to do is we need to optimize something. That’s going to open another tab next to it, and it’s going to bring up this page here, which is all but just stuff 1, and then what I do is I hit command, F, 1 Apple and I’ll put entitled okay, and if you notice below that it Just pulled up this here title lesson: 1: how to save $ 100 or more to grocery store title.
Ok below that. It’s got description at the end of the month, despite the lack of food and frig the grocery budget, blah blah blah blah blah. So if you notice that information is going to be, where is it in the search results exactly this right here lesson one had to say so what they’ve done is they’ve gone in there and they put in the title like I said, and then they here’s their Description right here and they’ve optimized, this pretty well, you know they got on.
I think the third page, something like that. So that’s all there is to that simple, simple, simple, good question: a really good question, because I didn’t know that it’ll be any unfamiliar all right. I think you should do him.
There was some talk that Google wasn’t using tags anymore, because people were overloading him, so they didn’t do it, but some of the search engines do – and I didn’t know everything you’re right Sean, but I would I would recommend, having your tags in there yeah. I think it’s a good thing. I have a tool called tube buddy and man they’re really important on YouTube. So yeah I would add tags. Definitely, yes, backlinks are another thing altogether and I could do a whole.
You know a training session on that and I might but we’re just covering the SEO today, and what Sean is talking about. Byuk links is where you know: you’ll have an article in another page, that’s related to yours and there’ll be a link, and when somebody clicks on it it comes over to your page or vice versa. You know you can have back links to other people’s page with your page. So that’s what a backlink is, and you know when you get into backlinks.
I don’t want to get too much on a tangent here, but when you get into backlinks they have to do with how related it is the authority of that page, in other words, how? Well, it’s trust if it was like a government page or something like that, then it’s going to have higher authority how many of these backlinks you have so just there’s a whole lot of training going on on that, but yeah backlinks is another way that you can Do you know, search engine Linda’s sizes is really good techniques and tools that work and are essential things well.

You want also SEO.

If you want them to come to your site, then you have to rank for queries for a given query. It’s good to know that and you don’t want to pay for the real analytics, because it’s a really a bundle. You could also see if, if yours was appearing, you can do that for four different countries as well. I’r short, I’m not sure at all.

You will show you who is appearing and all you could you could just do a search and see what turns up make sure that you used incognito. But then there is a kind of featured snippets for Brian saying but Brian mercy and then he’s got his own site also and on IMDB so yeah you should be trying if you’re trying be the authoritative one that deserves the featured snippet for the the search query. Let me take a shot. Are you using same, as? Are you actually no you’re same, as is all to voice one two? Three, so it’s like see you yeah. I think you need to revisit this. You know that’s coming in at number two so which then actually links to his his own Brian CENTCOM, hmm yeah, whereas you don’t even you don’t even reference the sky you’re treating it as if it’s you is yours in that sense, but he’s he’s not in that. I would yeah yeah, I mean personally say if I was looking at this, I would I would like your pages.
Firstly, I would sort them out. I would really sort of your pages man stars important in capital, letters and you know your first line saying you’re experiencing functionality issues. I would really sort out your pages. I would get rid of all these weird star things. I would structure them exactly the same across every single one, so this is that this is the key thing. Yet I would really look at these and structure them across every single one.
Then, of course, if they have their own social profiles, I would add those in so look at an irregular actors. You know, features snippet or knowledge graph right and then look at those and structure it. According to how Google likes to structure these things and you you, what you want to do is you you want to become the authority like IMDB, but for voice, and but you need to have a proper structure in place.
This kind of stuff just does not work. The way you’ve got this page stuck, you know, clients it just all should be in proper, structured sort of stuff yeah. I would I would really that that’s my own personal thing, if you weren’t going to go down that road all good points, all right. Let’s move to the next, nobody has an objection. So essentially, if you are a business you can’t you know you could mark it up, they’re, just not going to display it. So if you’re, a plumber and you’re going to put your plumbing page – and you know if you’re an optician – it’s not going to be up on any of your pages – the only pages that they are really going to allow them onto now our product pages as such, They will allow them onto the service page.
So if you’re a plumber, it won’t be on your home page. But, for example, let’s say you have a boiler page and you allow, and you allow users that this is the crucial bit. You need to allow users to actually add add their own reviews right. You can’t use third-party tools to extract them from one site to add it to that site. It has to be the actual site or the actual service or product that that that the user can can can review but yeah.
So so those are the kind of things in that sense. You can’t just chuck it across an entire site and you can’t just chuck it on two, because you know I mean, of course, if you’re, a single page cafe and you allow for views on there. Yes, they were, you know they would honor that, because it’s the cafe and it’s the customer, but if ten it tends to be a product now they’ve just restricted it on self-serve it.
So you can’t run across all sorts of different things and equally you can’t be using a third-party third-party tool. The actual reviews need to be on that page. Excellent Tim. So, there’s quite a lot of tools out there on the market that can do this for you, you can set it by a country. You can set it by a city, a town, a specific location. I particularly use SEMRush, but you can use. I mean there are a lot and you could even use your Google search console filtered by the country you’re looking at and hopefully that keyword will be appearing within there and then it will give you known exact but it’ll.
Give you a very good idea, and you must fill trip, a country to give you an idea. The other flip side of this. You know Kelly that you need to start thinking about this know really. You know checking out a keyword by country that the point is where that, where that rank tracker is actually searching it for what IP within that country, you know it could be the north or south, it could be somewhere somewhere else.
You know just it very rarely. People search by it by by just by you know, a country and what you see from a tracker is not going to be the same for people in that country in different locations. Searching for that same thing because it may be. You know if it’s sort of affected by local that could completely be different. Very rarely people actually search from a country search setting very rarely so and and of course, even if they are in the country and they search for a keyword, it doesn’t have any modifier and in it they will generally try and return a local search to them.
Based upon their IP or their, if their phones, chair location, so actually just searching for a country not really beneficial, I mean for you like I’m, like put this way. I wouldn’t go and pay for a rank tracker just to check a country. I would use your search console and then it just gives you kind of an idea right if you were looking specifically localized, then yeah. You know that makes more sense, because you know if you’re looking at localized, you can try and understand well what we need to do to appear more in this demographic.
These are the demographic or these are the. This is the actual city we want to target, not just like it’s, you see what I mean, so I would just before you go out and like spend money on any of these trackers, I would just maybe read up a little bit more on actual where things Are going to rank how they’re going to rank, how Google tries to serve different results based upon the search query and the where the users located? The second thing you will need is a landing page builder or a sales page builder. So I think I’m going to use a start earning now, so we just right click here and we can go to button and then right here we can change the text all right, so we can say start earn-in, No all right and then we can confirm that And there we have the button change to start earning now, so what we need to do now is also to configure where this button leads to so now we would have to go back to Clickbank and we would click promote right here to get our link.
So basically, this is the link that if anyone clicks this link and buys the product, Clickbank knows that it’s you that should get the Commission all right. So we just copy that right here and then now I would go back to my landing play page and click Change, URL and then after they confirmed that they subscribe. We would then just paste that right here and click, OK and confirm so once they opt-in to our mailing list.
They will receive a confirmation email to their inbox and then once they click that confirmation email, then they would be redirected directed directly to this page, where they can see all the information and purchase this product all right. So this is basically a course that teaches you how to make money on YouTube in the back-office. There are some really good articles in here as well, because I did check this out for myself, and some of them are a bit outdated to be honest, but it does have some real good materials in there.

We have or page logo. So we can just copy this, and then we can take it down here. So we can just remove that one, and we can also remove this and then we can put it right here and to make sure it’s centered all right and there we go. We have or landing page all right, so that’s pretty much it and that’s how easy it is to create a landing page with builder all as well. So we just click Save right here.
Oh, and one more thing I like to do is to preview the mobile version as well, just to make sure, as you can see here – it’s not really fixed. So this is what persons will see on the mobile section, all right so right here we can just make this a bit smaller like that all right, and then we need to have this bit smaller as well, so it can fit right on this, and that looks Like about it and we pull, we can just pull everything up by clicking the box there.
We go and pull this up and put this right here and there we go alright. So now we would save that so that we have it fixed on the mobile version of the website as well all right so now that that’s completed in builder. All if I go to my my websites here, I would see the URL for my landing page that I just created all right. So what I need to do now is to publish that website and we build our all it’s simple as pressing a button.
So here we have YouTube money. This is the one we just created, so I would just click, publish right here and then builder all would do its thing and reload and then it would be published alright and now that it’s published, we can definitely test it out by just clicking this, and it Should load up in a new tab and we can see our website all right, so there we go alright. So now I can just put a test email here and click start earning now.
All right – and it says please check your email address in order to confirm – confirm your subscription all right so now what I would need to do is to check my email address all right, so I did get the email and I clicked it, and it takes me Directly to the sales page for the Clickbank product, all right, so now that that has so that’s basically it so you would get to collect their email. So now the email would be in the mailing list and then you would drive traffic here, alright.
So what you can do to drive traffic? If you want to do it, the freeway you can knightly go into facebook. Groups like work from home groups make money online groups and groups where persons are looking for opportunities to make money online, and you would definitely just build some rapport. Give some good value in those group. Don’t just go in there and start spamming away. Try to keep conversation, listen to what people are saying see if you have any input and then you can just find your own unique way to just slide your pitch into them as well, alright, and if you want to do it, the paid way, there’s a site Called udemy, where you can basically use persons that are already into the market in digital marketing field, and you pay like $ 30 or $ 40, and they would send your offer to their mailing list, because some of them have like over ten thousand persons in their Mailing list already that are interested in make money online products, so what they would do is they would just get your offer and send it to as much of their leads as possible.
Alright and you in turn will start collecting emails from them because you set up your landing page alright, so that was it for me today. Emails continue to be an important and effective way to reach people, especially prospective customers for the products and services your internet marketing business promotes, but the format of emails requires you to work a little harder to gain somebody’s trust.
Today we are going to look at some techniques you can use within the body of your promotional emails to make them connect better with your customers. So it is easier for them to follow your call to action whatever it may be. The body of the email, the body of your promotional emails, needs to be as concise and, to the point is possible. Remember the average person gets dozens of emails in their inbox.
Every day, if they open yours at all, they will probably junk it if it is packed with dense copy and long drawn-out sentences. Most people scan rather than read emails, so you want to use short sentences or even brief phrases or bullet points whenever possible. This makes it easier for your reader to capture the essence of your message as quickly as possible, using attachments and links the biggest selling point of email over most other communication methods, such as texting or instant messaging, is its ability to attach documents such as Word files.
Audio files, articles slideshows and others these can be attached to the email using the attached files function when the recipient gets. The email attachments will be listed both under the header and beneath the text copy. When the email is opened by your reader, clicking on either will open the attachment on a separate page, including links with an email content within the body of your email. You also can include links to web pages addresses and other locations when the reader clicks on these links, they bring the reader to your intended destination.
A word of warning. It is very important to double check to make sure your attachments and links work properly, test them before sending out your emails to make sure they work. There is no faster way to lose a prospective customer event to forget an attachment or a link that does not work emoticons in there uses emoticons are those little smiley faces that can be inserted into the body of your email, depending on your intended audience.
Emoticons can be either light-hearted and entertaining or unprofessional and distracting. When you talk to somebody face-to-face, you can use gestures and body language to provide nonverbal meanings. Sometimes emoticons can be helpful substitutes for these nonverbal cues. So then the question becomes: should you use emoticons? A good rule of thumb is to avoid or be very cautions when using emoticons in business communications.

So that’s we’re going to talk about today, Google Analytics. First. I want to start out by saying that there are so many ways to improve upon your Google Atlantic google analytics skill set that we couldn’t possibly cover them all in full today, in this short 30-minute block.
But these slides are chock-full of information. I’r going to do an overview on some focus areas that are really important and you might want to look into each one later so there’s tons of links in these slides to look into each one more later. So I highly encourage you to download the slides. The link is right there and I will show the link again at the end, so I improve your google analytics skills.
I think this quote sums it up nicely. The quote says: the goal is to turn data into information and information into insight, but what’s the difference between data and information and information and insight? Well, basically, data is a bunch of characters and numbers in a maybe semi-organized, but not totally organized manner and data when segmented in a logical way becomes information information when segmented, in a logical way that can answer, questions becomes insight.
For example, do our paid search visitors convert or engage with our site, as well as our organic search visitors, or vice versa? The data, when segmented, in a logical way an organized way that can answer that question can answer that question. It says yes, organic users, bounce. Let’s stay longer and consume more content and the insight that can be gained from that is that we should invest more in SEO.
I’r a big fan of data-driven marketing and investment decisions so that how to turn data into information into insight. But in order to do so effectively, there’s three things that need to happen with your data. One is it needs to be accurate. To is, it needs to be comprehensive and three. It needs to be segmented in a way that can answer questions. So that’s what we’re going to go over today is how to do that in Google.
Analytics improving accuracy were things like these improving comprehensiveness with conversion, tracking and event tracking and segmenting data to answer questions with tips and tricks like these, but first before I dive too deep into any one of those. I want to go. Do a quick overview of account structure because I’m going to use words like property and view along the way, so I want to make sure you know what that means.
If you go into the admin section of your Google Analytics account you’ll see three columns. There’s account property and view one account can have multiple properties usually used for multiple websites and one property or one website can have multiple views where the data is segmented or filtered in some way narrowed in some way. In that view, so just want to make sure that semi clear at this point that one account can have multiple properties, multiple websites and each property can have multiple views.
So now that that’s clear, how do you make your data more accurate? First and foremost, I want to check that your tracking code is implemented properly. This is a this is responsible or incorrectly implemented. Tracking code is responsible for a whole variety of accuracy, issues that may not be immediately apparent in the data, so you definitely want to check that this is done correctly. You need to have one copy, not more than one.
We see that a lot one copy of your Google Analytics tracking code placed in the head section of the website after the opening head tag and before the closing head tag. Ideally right after the opening head tag. But as long as it’s in the head area, it should be okay and to make sure it’s ok, you want to use the Google tag – assistant, Chrome extension. That is quick and easy way to know. If your tracking code is implemented correctly and working properly, you’ll get a simple, sad smiley face if you’re not good and a green happy face if you’re good to go so definitely start with that.
After you’ve checked your tracking code, another accuracy issue you can look for is called self referral traffic. That is where it appears that new incoming traffic is coming from your own domain. So if you go to the acquisition, all traffic referrals menu and you see traffic from your own domain – that’s a problem because sessions are then being double counted that are really the same session within the site and conversion data can be inaccurate.
So if you see that or just to you know, preemptively prevent that you can go into your property settings middle column, in admin and under tracking info you’ll find the referral exclusion list. Just add your own domain name there, and that will take care of that problem. If you have it or prevent it, if you don’t additionally, similarly, you want to, if you are collecting payments on your website, whether it’s ecommerce or any other payment collections going on you’re using third party external payment gateways like PayPal, you also want to add those to The referral exclusion list, because a similar issue can occur when someone goes to PayPal to checkout, and then they come back and Google Analytics can count that as a new entering user.
Our session, I should say for the same user, but it’s really all part of one session for that user. So, if you add the third party payment gateway domain to the referral exclusion list, Google Analytics will then automatically unify the returning visitors quote-unquote new session, with their original session from before they started checkout and treat it as one we’ll have time for a couple. Questions at the end, also sort of similar in nature is, if you have a user journey that crosses several domains.
So let’s say you have a main website, our site comm and you have a courier site, our career site, comm, and it’s very common for users to travel amongst those and back that can cause a similar issue where one user is really interacting in one session. With all your properties, but it looks like in Google Analytics, it can look like multiple sessions per user visit, and that’s just not true. So in this case you want to implement something called cross-domain tracking and there’s a link there.
It does require a little modification to your tracking code, so there’s a link to read more about how exactly to do this. If you need to do this, but the concept is basically that you’re going to use one property, although properties are usually used one per website in this kind of a case. You want to use the same property across all of the domains and then use separate views to segment the traffic out.
You can have one view where you can see it all together, but then you can have separate views for each site as well, and this will avoid accuracy issues by making all the user visits that are hopping amongst domains. Look like brand new visits when really they’re. Just in one session, moving around alright and another thing for accuracy that you want to make sure to do is get your ownself out of there.
Your behavior, your browsing, behavior on your own website, is not representative of your target client, our prospects, behavior on your site and so you’re, going to skew your own site wide average metrics if you’re recording your own behavior and that of your staff. One really easy way to take care of this is the GA opt-out extension for Chrome, just install it activate it, and you will no longer be counted in your Google Analytics metrics.
That’s the easy way, there’s an abbess way. My slides are not changing there. We go advanced way is IP filtering and this happens at the view level in your admin, you go to admin, view filters and you can filter out your own and your team’s own IP addresses from your view. However, if you do, this definitely definitely definitely create another unfiltered backup view whenever you filter anything out of your main view, it’s gone forever.
So if you make a mistake – and it’s really easy to accidentally – you know put a dot in the wrong place or something if you make a mistake that day is gone forever. So definitely always one view. That’s an unfiltered backup view just in case alright. Last, but definitely not least, is referral spam who’s heard of referral spam all right about a third, maybe referrals fan, has a MERS always do they figure out how to spam us in every area of our lives, including your Google Analytics account, spammers have figured out how To send fake traffic hits to Google Analytics accounts and they do it at random.
Just like spammers call you at random or text at random, so you likely have some referral spam in your Google Analytics account, and it’s just to get your attention like this uptime site is just you know, sending fake hits to get you to check them out and Often they will have bought like metrics, like a 100 percent bounce rate, one average page per visit and 0 seconds session duration, so that will really skew your overall metrics you’re trying to learn about your whole site’s bounce rate, your whole site’s average pages per session, etc.
That’s going to get messed up by this type of traffic and it often has those characteristics exactly but referral spam, but some spammers have figured out how to fake those metrics so they’re not just easy to spot like that. So how do you get it out? The referral spam should be filtered out with filters, so again always always always create a backup unfiltered view. If you’re going to try to do this.
But how exactly do you get it out because there’s hundreds of different websites doing this and hundreds of different metrics that they’re sending with their fake traffic? One word Carlos. This guy has got this figured out and you can do it yourself by following his instructions and or you can pay him to do it for you. But he has got this down. Pat he’s related business for himself taking care of referral, spam and google analytics and I’m not affiliated.
I don’t earn any money by recommending him he’s just the best, so either follow his instructions carefully. They’re incredibly complicated, but you can do it yourself if you want to carefully follow the instructions, but so so the pro to this is that it’s free, but you do have to update it manually whenever new spam sources come out, which is pretty much weekly, but you Could sign up for his emails he’ll, send you an email when there’s a new one to add, filter and tell you how to do it or you can pay him.
His current pricing is not published on his website boy. Is we sign up for it? It’s very affordable, so those are your options for getting referral spam out of your Google Analytics account all right, so we talked about a lot of ways to make the data more accurate, so we also want to talk about how to make it more comprehensive and to Segment at answer questions. So let’s talk about comprehensiveness for comprehensiveness.
Of course you want to track all of your actual conversion. Actions as goals or transactions in Google Analytics you’d be surprised how many sites we see from really established brands that are not tracking all of their actual conversion actions in Google Analytics. So this is key and when I say actual conversion actions, this is a pet peeve of mine. Viewed contact page is not a conversion that a conversion is when someone either purchases, something or actually inserts themselves into your sales cycle, somehow using some kind of form fill or something.
So those are the things you want to make sure to track as conversions as goals or transactions in Google Analytics the easy way to track a form is to after submission, redirect that form to a thank you or like confirmation, type URL and set up. What’s called a destination goal in your admin for Google Analytics for that URL super simple and easy for e-commerce transactions. If you’re on WooCommerce you’re.
In luck, they have a plug-in the enhanced e-commerce tracking plugin takes care of this easily. Just install that enable the cameras tracking in your admin in Google Analytics and you’re done now, if you’re not on WooCommerce or you have a really complicated form situation. You can’t use those easy methods here are some links for using Google tag manager to set up both form, fill tracking and e-commerce tracking for your website, so for non conversion actions, but actions that are really important that you want to track.
You can track those with something called event tracking, so anything that’s an important action to track, but is not someone actually purchasing or inserting themselves in your sales cycle should be tracked as an event which can be viewed under the behavior menu and then events – and we Don’t have time to go through exact how to set this up so it gave you links, but here are some ideas for what you might want to track.
Article views there’s links there for YouTube and Vimeo Mail clicks on mail to links. Click-To-Call links, outbound links, clicks on images or other elements. Those can all be tracked with tag manager, event tracking and I do recommend tag manager over inline JavaScript because it’s just too easy for inline JavaScript to get accidentally overwritten and removed. So if you’re going to do this, please use tag manager all right.
Last but not least in our quest to have accurate, comprehensive and accurate and comprehensive data and data that we can segment to answer. Questions is segmenting data Tannis for questions. My favorite segmentation trick is called secondary dimensions. You can think of this as secondary columns. It’s an easier word to remember so, if I’m looking at our reports and I’m like our careers page gets a lot of traffic, I wonder where all that traffic to that page is coming from.
I can click into that page and very quickly. With this little drop down, you may not have noticed before right at the top of the results, I can very quickly add a secondary column of information and break it down by whatever I’m curious about there’s a lot of options in there. In this case, I was curious about the source or source medium, meaning the source and type of traffic that was coming to that page.
I just quickly used that drop-down to add source medium. Now I have a second column showing me the breakdown that I was curious about, and my question is answered very quickly. Similarly to break down data in a way that can answer questions you might want to use custom segments. This is something that will apply a filter of sorts like a lens to view all the Google Analytics reports through. So when you have this segment on, you can click around to any Google Analytics report and it will show you the stats just for that segment.
For example, we have multiple careers pages in our careers section on the site and if I wanted to view any and all of the Google Analytics reports, but only about the careers section of the site, I can create a segment for the career section of the site. At the top of most of the reports, you’ll see a button that says, add segments you put in the name of the segment, go to conditions, to specify the condition that you want the segment to have, and then say what it is in this case page contains Careers, you say that, and now all of your Google Analytics reports will show you information just through that lens.
So that’s pretty handy and you can even do it for multiple segments at once. You can look. I can do the same thing for the resources section of our site and apply them both at once and view all the reports in Google Analytics through those two lenses at the same time and compare them stacked right over each other. It’s pretty handy, if you find yourself using the same secondary dimension options or the same custom segments all the time and just constantly having to apply them, apply them apply them over and over again, you may want to look into custom reports.
This way you can create a report that will stay there and be that way configured that way all the time in the custom report. So you go to customization and you set up a custom report. It can look a little confusing, especially with things like. What’s a metric what’s a dimension, so this slide you might want to have handy. If you try to do this as a cheat sheet of short of sorts, the dimension is basically the first column.
Whatever data you want in the first column and then the metrics are the numbers that you want to come in the subsequent columns and then the filter is that lens that you want to see it through? If you want to narrow this report to only a certain type of data, and then your custom report will be available to you at all times, and you can even schedule it to be sent by email, just like you can with standard reports and last but not Least, custom dashboards are another very handy way to break down data in a way that can answer, questions and visualize it.
So you can go to the customization section and hit add dashboard, and you can either start with a blank canvas and start adding widgets of your own to it or you can go to the gallery and see if there’s something similar to what you’re. Looking for already there very well maybe, and then you can just tweak it a little bit and that’s a lot faster, but that’s definitely something to consider as well, so to recap to turn data into information into insight.
You want to make sure your data is comprehensive. Accurate and can segment it in a way that can answer questions, and this quick overview showed you some tidbits on how to do that today and if you again, if we want to download the slides the link, is there and there’s plenty of links in the slides For further reading on each topic – and we do thank you – we do have about two minutes for questions.
Those five minutes for questions. There was one over here. First, if that’s important for accuracy – oh okay, all right, so the question was about sites that have that render, with both www and non dub dub dub. Do you need to have like two different Google Analytics accounts? The best practice would be to actually have one redirect to the other, because if you don’t that’s duplicate content, which is not great for SEO purposes, so you want to just pick a primary.
Have it all redirect one way or the other and then just set up your google analytics the one way technically it can show both, but it’s the best practice for a variety of reasons. To just have it one way, other questions? Okay, so the question was: do we use any other tools, other than Google Analytics, that can capture data that perhaps Google Analytics doesn’t show? Yes, Google Analytics is amazing, in-depth tool, but it can’t show certain things, especially metrics from other platforms.
Like you know, social media platforms have their own metrics and whatnot, so we do like a variety of dashboard tools for that. This is one that we use a lot imports from Google Analytics, as well as a whole variety of others. Clip folio is another good one and on the high end for really complicated stuff, tableau is pricey, but great for that. Second, one is clip folio KL IP fol, io, okay. So the question was about referral spam, see it a lot curious if there’s an actual like detriment, SEO why’s to having that happening on your site or if it’s just like a harmless Kito that doesn’t pay.
It is like an annoying mosquito that doesn’t bite. There’s no SEO penalty, it’s not real traffic right right, you can filter it out and then they do constantly change their domains and then yeah, I’m not going to repeat that. That’s why Carlos’s emails are really helpful because he’s on top of that, like you, wouldn’t believe so as soon as there’s a new one, if you really want to do it yourself and keep updating your filters and keep on top of it he’ll, let you know the Moment a new one is found ah great question: when making websites for clients should you put Google, should you create their Google Analytics property in your own account or create a separate account for them? I would highly recommend the second option, create their own account for them or let them create their account and let you know what the number is and let them technically legally intellectual property, wise, whatever they own their data or they should own their data and I’ve seen Horror Story after Horror, Story of clients trying to get a hold of their own Google Analytics data from a web developer that vanished or won’t give it to them or was extorting them.
I actually was on a conference call where a web developer tried to extort money out of a client to give them ownership of their Google Analytics data. It was insane and unethical and just awful just let them have their own account. We have time for more questions. If anyone else has any I’ll also be at the, I feel like there might be hands up, I’m not really singing there. We go sorry. It was a little hard to hear any kind of data.
That is ah, okay, so question: is there any kind of data that maybe Google Analytics doesn’t measure yet but is in demand and we see coming in the future? Yes, I think the biggest thing in demand right now is proper cross device and cross blog attribution and Google Analytics is making baby steps in getting better at that. But they’ve got a long way to go. I mean it is a multi device, multi browser world multi IP, you know and we’re in advertisers who are spending a lot of money, advertising or trying to figure out their funnels of what’s working between impression, click, actions on the site and conversion and sale.
And you know, users coming back days later from a different device, is just it’s something they haven’t gotten good enough at yet, but seem to be trying to and hopefully well one more question. If anyone has question again, I feel like there might be hands that I can’t see. Thank you for pointing oh sorry, we’ll try to do both really fast yeah. So the question was about. Is there a service that builds in? You know you’re kind of predetermined conversion funnel tracking, for you sort of I mean every business is different.
I think the closest thing that comes to that is HubSpot. They, you know, they show you that you know per contact journey and a nice neat funnel ish type of way sort of pre-designed, or they make it easy to design they’re the ones that come top of mind for the ones that come closest to something sort of Pre done for funnel tracking. Yes, that’s one good question: how often do I recommend checking your Google Analytics? I’d say that checking and analyzing, or two totally different things.
You know checking into it to make sure all the data is flowing through and it looks like you know: nothing’s broken and traffic numbers have disappeared, it’s a good thing to do on a regular basis, but they also have alerts for that. You can set up alerts. So that, if all of a sudden you have zero hits when you usually have 100 hits a day, it will alert you for an analysis that really depends on the volume of traffic on this site, a site that gets a total of 200 visits over a whole Month, you’re not really going to learn anything by looking at that daily or weekly.
You might as well just do month over month, but if you get 20,000 visits a day, you can really analyze things day over day and in between you know. Maybe if you get 2,000 visits a month, so you might want to check it weekly and there’s no exact formula, but it’s kind of relative to how the popularity it’s the amount of data, because you need a certain amount of data for analysis to be statistically significant.
So yeah it kind of scales up with as traffic skills up the frequency of which monthly minimum for any site, even the smallest volume site for sure so I’ll, be at the happiness part which has moved to RB 145. Remember that right by the kids camp. Thank you so much for joining me today.
