Can more than one person own the copyright to a song?

We’re a non-profit legal clinic that helps consumers and musicians. Understand legal issues today we’re talking about songs written by more than one person and who owns what once John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote their songs for the Beatles. The rest of the band’s members usually would have their input over their contributions.

Let’s talk about how copyright law deals with co-writers, how a co-writing situation works depends on both whether or not the songwriters have an agreement and the nature of that agreement and whether it was written or an oral agreement.

There aren’t any statistics for this one, but chances are that most songs written by multiple people, weren’t made with any official agreements in place. In that case, the song is subject to the default rules of the Copyright Act under the default rules. All co-writers are joint authors of the work where each person is the 100 % owner with 100 % control of the work. Now you probably say to yourself wait: how does that make any sense at all? How can two people own and control 100 % of something examples, make it easier to understand co-writer a can license a song to a record label and make money off of it without asking co-writer be co-writer B can even license a song to a record label if Co-Writer B expressly says he doesn’t want the song sold.

The only thing the copyright laws require is that all Co writers have to share in all profits made from the songs moving on for almost every major label song that was in ten for commercial release. After recording there is a written contract in place, this contract usually spells out expressly how many will be divvied up the way that contracts work in the music industry could be a series of articles in itself, but the two most important things for this question is that These music contracts generally contain three important provisions: payment, credit and rights number one payment.

When analyzing or putting together an agreement with co-writers. You should always know how much money each person gets. If the song is a hit. There are so many ways that people can get paid, but this is a subject for another set of articles. Payment terms for concerts CD sales, online, streaming, royalties and radio play are all things that could be considered number to credit. You should always know who will be named as writers on the song.

These kinds of agreements can be made orally or in writing. But if you stand to make a lot of money off of this song, then you should probably have it in writing. Number three right. Then there’s rights which must be in writing rights means who actually owns the song, so it’s important to have that written down. Like I said a little bit earlier without an agreement, all authors are 100 % owners of the song.

With an agreement, you can actually dictate the share of ownership like 50/50, 70/30 and so on, find out if your co-writer is registered with a publishing company like BMI or ASCAP. If you don’t and there’s a problem with your writing partner, there might be legal trouble. Also, don’t forget that there are two copyrights when you record a song. The sound recording of the song is one copyright. The song itself is a separate copyright, meaning that even if you’ve never recorded the song, you still own it, provided you have the song written down.

Then there’s the recording it’s entirely possible that the producer you’re paying to work with. You has a clause in two standard terms of business. Then he owns part of or all of the song he’s working on with. You there’s also chance that copy laws might just automatically grant the producer ownership sort of like how a wedding photographer owns the copyright to the photos of your wedding, even though you paid them for it.

When working with a producer, it may be best to pay the producer fee or royalty instead of giving him any portion of a cog right, don’t worry we’ll discuss royalties in the next article. Personal Branding for the Modern Social Media Professors

I know this is during lunch. So for the fact that you guys are staying here with me is really cool. My name is Karen Freiburg, I’m an associate professor at the University of Louisville. So it’s taking me, while I’ve been there for seven years, has taken me to two pronunciate. It correctly. So I am going to be talking about something – that’s not only dear to my heart, but something that I’ve learned actually as being a social media professor, but actually utilizing different monitoring and listening tools across the board.

So we have had a lot of presentations that have discussed the social studio and Salesforce, and so I’m going to be taking a little bit of a different take on how we could use these tools to actually apply in size, but applying insights in a very specific Way so I do have my email address: it’s just Karen Freiberg at Louisville edu and on Twitter, I’m just at Kay Freiburg, and so I’m going to be talking to you guys about personal branding for modern social media professors, some do’s and don’ts.

And so the reason why I wanted to talk about this subject is not only do I see this as a big emphasis, a trend that we’re seeing right now in higher education, but it is also an area that we see a lot being discussed in both the Industry and in higher ed, but maybe not necessarily targeting to professors, we hear students getting opportunities for their personal brand. We hear athletics, we hear presidents of universities, but sometimes we don’t realize that there’s a lot of applications and benefits for a professor.

So the one thing that I want to kind of start off with is you know. Basically a simple question: is a personal brand really necessary for social media professors? We have professors like Jenny at MERIS who has done innovative things in the classroom with their students. You know and really has developed a strong personal brand for herself, and we have Brandon from the University of Tennessee a doctoral student who’s, also including his work in insights and develop a personal brand within the industry.

But really, how can a personal brand really benefit a professor who is in charge of doing other things like research teaching community outreach efforts along with other things, but my big point is personal branding today, I think, is essential for social media professors. It’s one thing for us to look at and encourage our students to have a personal brand and utilizing tools and services like Salesforce, so in social studio, to be able to listen and understand what people are talking about, whether it’s clients or own institutions and what’s happening In the community with trends, but we can use these insights for our own insights related to personal branding and the thing that I tell my students all the time is, I would not be here without the time and investment that I’ve spent on social media listening monitoring.

What people are saying, what are basically people are talking about and how to differentiate myself as a professor and using listening capabilities and tools like social studio and others to kind of see? How could I differentiate myself and personally and establish a personal brand that is unique and different, and so, when I talked to Morgan a few weeks ago, I believe about some images. She said you know Karen.

You might want to share some stories about some experiences that you’ve had and been like having a personal brand on social media. So I wanted to kind of share with you guys a couple of recent examples. So I’ve been able to get opportunities because of a personal brand on social media, for what I’m doing as a faculty member. So I teach in our strategic communication concentration at the University of Louisville, but I primarily teach social media classes.

So I wanted to kind of share with you guys a couple of examples that I’ve been able to get not just from my research, not from teaching but being active, listening monitoring and seeing what people are talking about related social media. So the first one is Cinnabon. So Cinnabon actually is a you know again, a favorite brand of mine. You know I tell myself whenever I’ve seen about I’m doing research, but they have a Twitter chat.

They’ve had a Twitter chat for five years, and so I was listening and running the analytics and they get some impressive numbers, so I started participating in their Twitter chat and then, with that relationship I was able to invite my class to be part of the feature. So they’ve never had feature guests before, but it got a lot of exposure for my students and our program at the University of Louisville.

I’ve been a thought leader and an ambassador for Adobe, which is another brand that I’ve been working with and then, of course, it’s always nice when you interact with people in Twitter, chats and celebrities, so the rock aka Dwayne Johnson, you know basically gave me a shout Out he called me dr. Karen, so I tell my students, you can call me dr. Freiburg, professor fever, but the rock he can call me dr.

Karen, so that actually got me a lot of credit with my students, as they still say, the rock tweeted you. Yes, he did so what exactly is personal branding so today it is basically the universal practice of managing all the perceptions attributed to your online and online activities associated with an individual from your community. So higher education institutions, as we are seeing here, have a reputation they want to reach donors, they want to reach alumni, they want to reach potential students, but at the same time we are missing a key component again in the part of the conversation.

Students eventually want to have jobs after graduation and they’re, going to be learning these skills in the classroom, and they are looking for someone that perhaps has that connection to the industry that has a strong presence and how they can best help them. And so I think, with personal branding for professors, we can provide them an expertise and tools, but sometimes we also have to walk the walk and talk the talk.

We have to be able to show the students. Not only am I teaching you about the social listening tools and analytics that are provided here at our disposal, whether sales force or others, but we are also basically utilizing these tools for our own advantage, because ultimately, we are our most important client or reputation is our Most priceless possession, so I wanted to kind of talk about some. Like again.

The heart of my presentation is going to be personal, branding, do’s and don’ts. So we are seeing a lot of do’s and don’ts right now in personal branding, but for professors who are teaching social media. I think the biggest thing and I done workshops at Louisville and other places, I’ve done talks. The biggest challenge is putting yourself out there. We’re very comfortable and putting our university out there, our department or organization, but we are very afraid about ourselves, and I tell my colleagues I have no problem being the guinea pig at all like I am going to put myself out there and say I’m going to Tweet you at the rock, let’s see what happens and then basically get response back, I’m like yep.

This is going to my 10-year package so hum which that actually happened. So, my colleagues after me, they are afraid that they have to go and get a tweet from the rock to get tenure. I’m like no! No, no, it’s all good, but you want to put yourself out there, but you want to use your listening capabilities from sales force and social listening to kind of see. What are people talking about myself? How do I monitor what people are looking for in the industry? For research purposes from the community, what are some majors and classes that potential students are looking for and could we as a university match up the professor with the student enquiries? What are you doing related to your own industry like who are you reaching out to about your work and research, and can you formulate those partnerships, so my partnership that I worked with with Adobe was not at all related to my research.

It was not related at all. It was about social media. How I was presenting myself. I think the most important thing to to keep in mind is: how do you stand out with your personal brand voice? How do you articulate you’re listening to what people are talking about there you’re looking at what people are seen from the industry, and you want to think about how to best present that we can use all of the analytics and tools possible, but we also want to Be able to apply what those findings are, and so you want to make every conversation mean something we have the greatest tools available to us with a social studio and sales force.

But we want to make sure that we’re applying the research and insights to mean something other things to keep in mind. We want to understand how to use again kind of tapping back to what my last point was how to use in size to analyze, listen and execute your ideas. So, basically, look at you know, instead of looking at what the university is looking at, I think every University should have a monitoring report looking at what professors are doing like how who’s reading the content who’s talking about the organization’s, but also what type of content is Generating the most traffic, so this could also help us in crafting stories for content marketing purposes that we’re able to see.

Okay, people are talking about wanting more future careers in entrepreneurship or social media. We can be able to tie in those insights and apply that to other marketing capabilities, but then, ultimately, what is our competitive advantage? So is the professor has a very strong personal brand? How do they compare with other individuals and how we could utilize this asset to our advantage? A couple things on don’ts? I think that you think if you guys have been following, what’s been going on with influencers and advocates, and people buying followers and kind of having these vanity metrics.

This falls under also with professors. You don’t want to feel like you’re, not authentic, that you want to be someone else, be your true self, and that is going to be something that people are going to be able to relate to, and personal branding is not also about just you. You don’t want to focus on the vanity metrics, you want to focus more on the community and the overall process, and the big thing here too is don’t go for the hard sell and I follow.

I find this to be really important, because we have a lot of artificial intelligence, AI being basically integrated into our tools and stuff, which basically tells us a lot about the data that we’re collecting by both by students and audiences. And so sometimes we don’t want to be completely going just for the heart cell. We want to build up those relationships so having that human touch and that human instinct is going to be really focused here and so.

Relationships on social are like a marathon, not a sprint, so I want to conclude here and just my last slide – that I’ll definitely want to open up for questions and comments. If you guys would like, I think, every person, entity and organization has a personal brand. We see this for higher education. The higher education industry is definitely aware of the fact that people are going and to schools or working at various schools and universities because of their personal brand, and I think, with professors.

There are many opportunities out there over the years. I’ve been doing workshops and personal branding and they’ve been just increasing over and over the year. So I think, when we’re looking at these listening and monitoring tools, we want to look at the insights that we not only gather about the respective University but look at who is working at the universities, the people behind the brand and again, as I read reinstated, professors.

Definitely fall into this realm. I think this is only going to be increasingly more emphasized as more classes like the ones that Jenny and Brandon are teaching are going to become more popular and professors feel more comfortable, utilizing this space not only for their classes and research, but also for their personal Brand and it really, we just have to take the time to protect and sustain our personal brand, universally across all platforms on and on offline.

So ok, so that is the end of my slide slide. So thank you. So I wanted to open up for questions and comments if you guys yeah. I appreciate that and yeah it’s great, I mean just to kind of see. I think there’s a lot of discussions too on social media con some of the challenges and things that you have to be aware, but there’s, I think so many more benefits and opportunities that outweigh those across borders.

Like this example and then I believe I think Brandon and I we communicated first on Twitter, and so it’s just how you are able to communicate and engage with your audiences and look at the opportunities that are there and the impact that you can have. It’s just been really fun for me to be able to experience that so. Oh yeah yeah yeah. Yes, I’ve been teaching social media now for six years and it is different still because they’re not used to seeing they’re like you need to be in an office and that’s all you do you work, but then, when they, I warned my students.

I mean again the thing that I tell them is we use social media like Jenni, we have a class hashtag and I tell them, you don’t have to follow me and I warn them ahead of time. They will be exposed to coffee and they might actually turn into a coffee drinker, which I have a 50 % success rate right now. Turning onto coffee drinkers to coffee drinkers, but it they’ve said you know I like to as a professor before this class, but they’ve said you, I actually like you as a person afterwards, because I was able to relate to you, like you, you’re human being I’m like.

Yes, thank you, oh, but I think that’s social mean by being present like I do email, but I also look at the analytics to kind of see like when my posting is getting responded, and so sometimes it’s easier for me just to interact with the students in The social media space and so students are sometimes hesitant to definitely share what they’re doing with their friends with the classes. But I actually give them an assignment kind of using analytics and listening to manage their own personal brand.

But do an audit and is like one of the more most eye-opening experiences and exercises because they really see what they’re presenting who’s seen it and everything through the analytics tools that we have and afterwards they’re like okay, I’m going to switch gears. I’m going to. I realize that this is a tool that I need to be more professional on, so it’s kind of a interesting journey, but it’s been fun so we’re about a month away from finishing this semester, so the students are kind of on the tail end, but they’ve grown Substantially over the last couple months – yeah, yes, yes, so they’ve been really interested because they’ve been getting a lot of in choirs was in Louisville.

We have a couple of universities around the area and we do have a pretty good digital in social industry. So we have a lot of brands, headquartered in Louisville like KFC, you know and the Yum Brands, and we have that little horse racing event that happens every first Saturday in May. So that’s Vegas tractor. So we have a lot of big brands and they’re coming towards. Like oh, my gosh, we need people who are skilled in these areas, so one of the things that Louisville is trying to do is to build up that program, and so the other schools are definitely trying to offer more programs and initiatives.

But I would say: I’ve been in Louisville since 2011 and that’s when I basically was tasked to create a class. Now we have two classes: we’re trying to develop a few more some on the research side, but then we’re also going to be looking at a campaign space class, so we’re really trying to develop an area. But I I would have to say that I had to like I was when I was going on for ten year like in the first.

You know like I was kind of thinking about. In the back of my mind I reached out and I’m like. Okay: what’s the value of this tweet like who’s going to be seeing it, and so what would they were seen is that it was the alums and the professionals from the university. They were content that contacting the office. Saying: okay, who is this professor? We hear about what she’s doing with this platform or there’s were, like we’ve heard, seeing some students who are in the workplace so yeah, it’s been kind of full circle, so they’ve actually had to have hear what was going on from the alums coming back in now That they basically knew know what we’re doing they’ve been a lot more proactive, and so I’ve been able to work with them on a few stories saying: okay, here’s how weird these type of activities in a classroom a few years ago, we worked with USA Today and There was a Forbes article, so they’re like yeah.

We need to basically amplify this a little bit more, so yeah yeah. Well, I had to actually teach the class you know at Louisville for a couple of years before social studia was even an option. So with marketing communication, because one of the things that they were kind of struggling is that they were kind of you know by deciding like which tool do we get like, which would be most appropriate for what we’re doing, and so I was brought on board just To kind of look at okay, what are the pros and cons of various tools, because that was one of the things that I had to do for a fellowship that I did a few years ago at General Motors, it’s kind of, say: okay, which tool would actually Be most affordable that would do the best work for us.

That would have the insights that we would need. So I would like initially for the first couple of classes. I would actually just talk about. What’s you know the various tools are in the metrics and what you’re able to do now because of the personal branding stuff I’ve been able to integrate that a little bit more effectively, because when I started teaching social media, I was banging on doors. Saying hey.

I need to have access to those tools and I was getting basically door slammed in my face saying: nope you’re, not an enterprise, a client you’re. Just you know teaching, but now it’s basically, I don’t have to do that. People are coming to me and say: hey. We want you to get access to the students, we want you to use these tools and we want to partner with you. So that’s been something: that’s happened, just in probably the last four years, so it’s been interesting, mm-hmm.

Well, that’s! Actually, I’ve had yeah. I mean I’ve had to deal with that because there’s some professors, no matter what you did there like, I don’t want to be on. I don’t want to have access, but there are also some of the same professors who want to go up ten year or they want to do other possibilities and I’d show them what the journals are doing. The academic journals that they’re publishing. I mean a lot of them are including social media metrics that are basically saying.

Okay, if you share these articles, if you basically share these across different platforms, you get a bit a certain score and that’s basically another way for us to be evaluated. That’s what happened to me that I realized that was going on for my tenure process, but I also showed them the benefits in all aspects of what they’re doing, and so I tell them like it’s not, maybe necessarily something that you may want to do in the Classroom but for research purposes and collaborations this is a great tool and so I’ve had to share various stories.

Like the stories that you know, Jenny has had and a few others that have gotten some amazing opportunities because they’ve been president on active on social media, and so I think to just walking with them through the steps and that’s why the workshops like I used to Do maybe a couple a year now it’s like monthly, where I’ve been basically coming in. Like okay, tell me about this ghost thing: I’m like! Yes, that’s snapchat! I don’t know if you want to do that, but okay we’ll talk about it.

So but I love helping people to kind of walk them through that process, and so there’s been some people that have said I hate social media but then, when they get on it they’re like I love it, I really embrace it, but I think it’s just that Perception of what it is, they think it’s just a fad. If I don’t like no, it’s a really cool tool for information sharing, community building relationship management and you get a lot of opportunities so, and so I try to share the stories that I’ve had.

Blogging tips and tricks – Original content from scratch

I’m going to encourage you to do so. If you haven’t already logged into your blog, i’m going to encourage you to do the same that way as i’m doing this stuff, you can go ahead and do this with me, okay. So what we’re going to do in this article is we’re going to create a completely brand new blog post from scratch just out of the information in your head now, if that seems a little bit intimidating, if you don’t know what to blog about again, one of The reasons is that we don’t know enough about our subjects, what we’re going to blog about.

So, if you’re having problems with that, what you want to do is you want to just immerse yourself in the subjects that you’re learning about? Okay – maybe it’s about blogging. Maybe you want to start learning about blogging, so you might blog about your journey as you’re starting this blog so that maybe that one thing that you want to do, but whatever your subject is you just need to know enough about it and immerse yourself into that? Subject and then it will be quite easy for you now again, if you don’t want to do that, of course, you can always outsource this.

You can also have experts go ahead and do this for you and that way you don’t have to worry about it as well, but what we’re going to do is we’re going to create our own blog blog post from scratch. Okay, so here’s what we’re going to do now, first of all, we’re going to come over here and we showed you how to use this tool in another article, and this is what our blog post is going to be about. So this is our keyword, research.

What is the key word that we want to use and, of course, I’ve already done the research for for us. I got 128 ideas for some blog titles that I could use. Okay, that’s step number one. Now, what I’m also going to do is it is I’m going to come back over here and I’m going to go over to where it says, post all posts and I’m going to select, add new. Now you can come over here and you can go ahead and write this blog right now from scratch, but here’s what I like to do.

I take my ipad with me everywhere everywhere I go and take my and any time I got a couple of minutes left over someplace in one two, three, four five minutes. I might even not even finish my entire blog post all up one setting because I might only have let’s say a few seconds or so, but at least I’m starting to get my idea down and i’m going to create that at least write the article okay. So what I do is I take my blog post with blog or excuse me.

I take my ipad with me everywhere and I’m writing stuff now, if you don’t have a blah or an iPad or anything like that, what you might want to do is carry a notebook with you all the time and just jot down ideas and start writing what You’re going to post in your blog, so that’s what I did here. So what I do is I create all my blog posts in my iPad and then from there I’m going to post it on my blog.

So what I did is from my ipad. I email it to myself, so I’m going to go check my email, so here’s my blog post and it’s not perfect at this point and that’s what I’m going to do once I actually publish my blog. So, as you can see here, the title of this is in today’s article. Not only are we going to reveal the secrets of how to add three three to five hundred dollars per month? Add it onto your paycheck from your job through a series of governmental stimulus programs.

So what is the governmental stimulus program? It is free government money right. So then, that’s why I come over here put in free government money and it’s going to give me some ideas of what I’m going to blog about. But I did this. While I was on the monorail or I could’ve been on the Monroe uh. I could have been on a bus, I’m not even true Hera, where I was when I created this, but I just emailed this to myself, because now I’m ready to go ahead and publish it.

So what I’m going to do here is I’m going to select this and I’m just going to copy the entire thing. So a simpler way to do this, so I’m going to put my cursor here. Okay drag it across, but what I want to do is I’m going to select all so. I’m going to put my cursor right on top of this right click it. This little dialog box opens up i’m going to go, select also it copies my entire thing. Then, while my cursor is still there, i’m going to right click it again and i’m going to select copy and i’m going to come back over here and I’m going to right-click it and select paste.

And here is my entire blog article again. As you can see, it’s not perfected, there’s some things that we’re going to do with it still, but right now your main objective is to get as much content on your blog as you possibly can. That’s your main objective. Okay, now you come back over here. So free government money to start a business. That looks like a good based upon my topic, that it looks like a good blog post.

So I’m going to come back over here and I’m going to post it right there. I might even be put to start 80 face vistas to get some little bit more keywords in there. That way. If anybody’s looking to start a home-based business versus a traditional business, they’ll see my article in there as well. Ok. So now I have my blog post in there now what I do is over here. We have some categories. Ok now I can’t remember if i’ve shown you how to do that, if you, if I haven’t, let’s, go ahead and do this again, so I’m going to add a category and I’m going to name this category.

Let’s just say I do it yourself DIY. Do it yourself, and but I’m also going to select alpha lifestyle, I’m also going to say, select frugal linköping and I’m also going to select career and I’m going to select business because the that’s that’s just to help people to to be a quicker search, help people To be able to find your blog, ok, something that we can also do down here is, we can add some tags, so we could use some of these keywords so that are found over here.

We could use that for tags, so we, but just like for you. The money goes like ads and bail out and government dimmu this stuff, like that. You might want to go ahead and do some research of what you want to use for your tags right. Okay, so that is all complete and then what I’m going to do after that is I’m going to go ahead and select, publish now, so I’m going to go ahead and publish it. It’s going to take just a few seconds there for it to load up.

Okay, so, as you can see here, it’s all published and it says you post and I could go ahead and check that out. If I wanted to I’m not going to do that right now, because I just what we want to do is just go out there and get some content out there correct. So I got my content out there and you want to do this as many times as you can. Ideally, you’d want to get 360 blog posts, but you might just by doing what you did right here.

You might not need that many. I only needed to let’s say 200 blog posts to be able to generate enough traffic for me to go ahead and make some money with it. So now, what we’re going to do is I’m going to show you how to, in our next article, I’m going to show you how to start editing this blog post to make it look nice and, and that way we can go ahead and start making some money With this okay, but we’ll do that in our next article, take care of one have a great day and we’ll see you in our next article bye, bye now,

Growing Passive Income for Wealth: INVESTING in shares/stocks || SugarMamma.TV

So you can make more informed decisions when it comes to managing your money and actually see your financial wealth build and actually realize that financial security and independence is well within your reach.

When you make great decisions with your hard-earned money, all right today, guys I’m talking to you about passive income streams. There are a whole range of different passive income streams, some which are very conservative, some, which are quite aggressive. However, it’s important that you pick the right income stream for you and for your financial goals and for your risk appetite now the people who are really nervous when it comes to investing and don’t have much experience.

They may want to start off investing in a fairly conservative styles of passive income sources, and these are typically cash savings accounts term deposits, maybe even some government bonds or even corporate bonds and typically because they’re more conservative, their returns are a little bit like that. Typically, a passive income stream, that is the yield of these conservative types of investments, ranges between 2 up to 3.

7 percent per annum. But these types of conservative assets generally have no capital growth, they’re, predominantly income based, which means if, for example, you bought a bond for $ 100,000 and the yield will say 3 percent, you would be getting only $ 3,000 a year in passive income from that bond. There is no capital growth element to it whatsoever, but if that’s right for your risk profile, you don’t like taking risk and you’re uncomfortable with it.

That may be the right type of investment for you now, the more aggressive or assertive you could say of investments for building long-term wealth are things like residential property, commercial property, domestic shares or international shares, and these returns are typically, as history shows a lot higher, because The more risk you take, the more of a reward you should get so residential property on average yields between 3 point to up to three point: nine percent.

But when you take out all the expenses of running a property, it typically comes down to a yield of around about two to two-and-a-half per year with commercial property. The yield tends to be a little bit higher around five point, five percent and when it comes to investing in shares, depending on whether it shares a base, for example, Australian shares the yield tends to range between four point: seven percent up to five point: seven percent.

When you factor in franking credits now, there seems to be a lot of misconception when it comes to investing in shares and comparing it against conservative estimates such as fixed interest bonds. However, I want to make sure you guys are aware of the difference between these two different types of asset classes and the impact over the long run. So the best way for me to show this to you is by showing to you what has happened in history.

If I were to take a hundred thousand dollars and put it into a term deposit in 1979 and just took the passive income each year and spent it, I never reinvested the money or added any new money to that term. Deposit account by 2016 that hundred thousand dollars would still only be worth a hundred thousand dollars, but it actually would have eroded away because that hundred thousand dollars could not buy me.

What it can today is what it could have done in 1979 and I would still be earning a passive income of two thousand five hundred dollars per year. That’s it, however, if I put that 100 thousand dollars into a diversified share portfolio of Australian shares, again just taking that passive income through the dividend, yields and spending it, adding nothing to it and not reinvesting any of my dividends that share portfolio would now be worth One point one: two million dollars and the passive income that I’d be receiving from that one point: one two million dollar share portfolio would be worth over fifty one thousand dollars every year.

Now, I’m pretty sure you would rather be receiving a passive income stream at 51 thousand dollars a year versus two thousand five hundred dollars a year. So you’re probably wondering how is this possible? How is the same amount of money invested in two different asset classes with SIPP, not too dissimilar yields over the long run so incredibly different? Well, it comes down to the fact that shares are two-dimensional assets.

They not only do they produce income, they also produce growth and that income grows with the capital value with shares. When a company raises profits, they reinvest some of those profits back into the business for future, compounding growth and to expand them, prove the value of the business, and then they pay a dividend on that and that dividend grows every year as long as the company grows. Now a lot of people say well, fine can investing in shares is incredibly volatile and comes a lot of risk.

And, yes, you are correct, you do when you invest in shares. There is a lot of high to medium term volatility over the short term medium term. I want to show you this other chart. This will really change your perception of really how safe term deposits are. If we look at the yield on term deposits and compare them against shares and even commercial property, in fact, it’s actually the toh deposits, which are a lot more volatile over that 17 year period, so that perception of term deposits being safe.

And you can sleep well at night versus shares being risky and dangerous isn’t actually quite true. So what this boils down to you? If you’re trying to build up a passive income stream, you’ve really got to look at the underlying assets in your portfolio. You do not want to forego long-term growth for stability. You need to make sure that your passive income and your investment portfolio is sustainable.

Is going to provide you with that passive income. That’s going to grow over time and ensure that you remain financially independent. Do not fall into the trap of just going in investing purely for yield with no capital worth. This will come with a lot of regret, further down the track and if you’re going to build up an investment portfolio where you’re going to incorporate more of these growth style, investments such as international and Australian shares and even some property make sure you diversify.

You do not need to go all or nothing most. People have a diversified share portfolio where they may have some commercial property, some residential property. You know a mixture of Australian shares and maybe some international ETFs. It’s a really well diversified portfolio which smoothes out the overall volatility over the long run and, of course, make sure that you look at the yield but make sure that the yield is consistently growing over time.

This should be the foundations of what you look for in a quality investment. Now, as you’re reading all of my money Monday articles, I really hope that your site to get it be more interested and a bit more inquisitive and maybe even tempted to start building up a share portfolio. But please remember you do not need to stress about which shares to pick and where and how and what you can very easily a listed investment company that does all that work for you or even a managed funds.

Here in Silicon Valley, I’ve worked with everything from IT: hardware, software services and article marketing and promoting a lot of Bay Area, tech, web development and startup groups. So I love seeing things invented and created, and I think here then anywhere else. So I want to work in tech because I see it as a very efficient way to to get business done, to sell more products or to be more successful in what your business does. Who am I I’m a I’m going to find you partnerships, whether that’s with your clients or with your partners that sell your product, recommend your product or promote your product? And so I am much more interested in finding relationships that help us reach hundreds or thousands of customers.

Instead of I mean I enjoy working face-to-face with customers, but if there’s a way I can turn on a partner, that’s going to help us reach hundreds or thousands. That’s a strategic place that I’d like to work in my favorite thing to cook is sea bass with the lemon butter sauce and cayenne pepper. On top, I also love cooking anything with green chilies. Knife Unpacking from Forged in Fire: Knife or Death S01:E04

This box contains the knife that I used on the show knife or death, which was on the History Channel. It’s a cool show. I had a lot of fun, shooting it. If you readed it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. This is the most utterly badass knife composition ever created, but if you haven’t readed it press pause, go, read it and then come back.

I haven’t seen my knife since I ran the course and the course was really amazing hard challenging blades, so this will be the first time I actually get to see my blade and inspect it to see how it performs on those challenges all right from here to Here looks pretty good, I mean there is some some funkiness right, here’s a little bit more chewed up, but this is really where I was hacking through that metal sheet right at it at the end.

So I definitely expected a little bit more damage here, but I have to say it’s really, nothing arable. You can hear all the Jegs. It’s almost like a serrated knife at this point, so I have a lot of cleanup work on this. It is no longer a razor good job, knife or death. You put me to the challenge and I will be cleaning this back up, getting it back into sharp shape and getting it back out there and doing some more cut test with it.

I will probably make more of these knives. I like them, it’s the second one of that style that I’ve made this other one over here. In my other articles, probably you may have seen this as you can see. It added a lot more blade to this and, unlike the white blade format, I’m going to continue to adapt and work the handle. There’s some modern things on this, one that final on that one. You know I’m on this journey of taking this Celt Iberian style, worn knife and making it relevant to the modern daily limit and making it something that is very functional, so follow along that journey.

Why everyone Needs to Become an Influencer

This is what I believe. I’m sharing that with you for nothing just get out there and succeed. What’s up everybody ricky truth here. Welcome back to my blog, so today I want to give you some extremely practical advice on how to build your business and keep up with the trends of digital and technology moving forward.

The world is moving at such a high pace now, and we’ve got to keep up with the times we’re over to get left behind. Ok, so we have to understand where the world is going, where people want to be how we need to approach people, how where we need to be to build our brand and that’s what I want to talk about personal branding and the fact that every single one Of you should be thinking of yourself in terms of an influencer okay.

Thank you for yourself as an influencer. What I want to call this is that you are a mini influencer, okay, as a real estate agent as a salesperson and the car industry as an insurance agent as a travel agent as a doctor or lawyer or whatever the case may be, you want to be A mini influencer, okay, here’s what I mean: okay, if you’re an influencer in general, if you’re, just an influencer okay, you may be trying to build a global brand.

Okay, like myself in the real estate coaching world, okay in the entrepreneur world. Alright, I want to influence people in a very positive light globally. All right, I have people all over the world from many different countries, following what I’m saying and building relationships over transactions, building their businesses in a positive way and helping people the right way – and this is very humbling for me to do.

But I would consider myself an influencer, not a mini influencer, or a mini influencer to me is what real estate agents need to be. Okay, that means that we’re a micro influencer in our own markets, our local markets. Okay, what that translates to us is that we don’t need to be worried about views number of views number of likes number of followers. Okay, let’s take Joe Rosen, for example, down in Port st.

Lucie. He has very little views, but if he goes out to a restaurant, everybody knows who he is. Why? Because it’s such a localized market, okay, you’re, comparing yourself to big influence, you’re saying: oh, I don’t have a thousand like so I’ll – have ten thousand views per article. So I must not be getting anywhere close to where I need to be on these social platforms, but that’s not the case. Okay.

Very little views means a whole lot in a concentrated area, okay and so moving forward. I want you to be thinking personal brand, which is what I did with my weekly email and continue to do and continue to teach you to do is a weekly email. On the same day of the week forever I’ve been doing mine since 2007. It’s literally how I built my brand okay and his litter have became an influencer. I didn’t know all these terms when I started doing this, but it’s literally what out what I was doing and is why I’m where I’m at now.

I understand this on a much grander level, seeing as how I got into the coaching industry and I’ve started to build my brand there on social media, okay, as well as email and every other platform. There is out there. So I want you to think of yourself moving forward as an influencer. Now, let’s talk about that for a second being an influencer, or what does it mean? It means that a certain amount of people – okay, know who you are and see your content consistently.

Okay, they see original content from you on a consistent basis: okay, forever. Okay, that’s continuing to build your brand with the people who know you all right and then the goal is is to get more people into your following your email database, your instagrams, your Facebook. Listening to your podcast reading, your YouTube, whatever platform you decide, okay, which I believe the best two platforms, are emails and text, email, platform, text, platform, okay and then all the Supplemental platforms, all the social medias.

Okay, I think those are secondary, but very valuable and necessary. You need to have all of those combined to really make a huge impact and to really build that influential status in your market. Now, if you think of building your business moving forward as you being an influencer in your local market, okay, it tends to give you a different vision. Okay, a different point of view of what your goals really are all right.

The goal is is to let as many people as possible know who you are and how you operate, that you’re honest, caring, hard-working dependable professional you’re, everything that they want in an agent okay. But we have to let a certain amount of people know that if they don’t know about you, they don’t know who you are number one and then. Secondly, if they don’t know what you’re about then they’re never going to do business with you, okay, so our job from this point moving forward is to initiate contact with as many new people that don’t know who we are as possible.

Let them know who we are and then put them into our little personal branding machine, okay of pumping that consistent original content to them forever. Okay, so we do that through email. We do that through text. We do that through social media all right, but we need to get them into our personal branding machine all right and then we want to talk to more people and get them in there more more more more as many people as we can possibly get to.

We will never get to all the people in our market. Therefore, our job and our task at hand is an unlimited of Biss. Okay, it’s an ocean, you can’t get to it all and when we think about that on that micro level, that many influence our level think about what I’m trying to do with just being a general influencer, okay to influence people around the world, all right and when We think about the unlimitedness of just the many influence or the micro influencer of just a local market.

Think about how massive it is to be just a general influence or trying to influence people around the world. It’s it’s insanely, unlimited and massive. So hope this gives you a different look, a different point of view. Maybe how you need to be building your business or what your objectives really are, or what your goals should be. Okay and I’m going to start pumping out more content around being an influencer and the little things that really matter and different little hacks that I find along the way I’m going to are those with you.

SEO Tool – MOZ Review

I wanted to give you another search engine tool, another tool that you could look at to help you with keywords when you’re searching for search engine optimization when you you want to put your content out there and make sure you’re using keywords that people are actually looking For you might have some great ideas, some great phrases, titles and things like that, but nobody is looking for it and that’s what search engine optimization is all about again.

Thank you for coming to my blog affiliate marketing mastery or you can learn to earn a passive income and again this is a tool that you definitely want to use, whether it’s this product or a different one and I’ll go over a few other ones. As I start creating some more articles this one here, it is pricey if you go to pay for it, it’s anywhere from like 149 a month to $ 5.99. But the neat thing is: if you’re, just starting out, you can use it for free and you actually get ten queries a month for free which isn’t too bad.

Because when you’re new you’re looking up certain keywords – and you really want to analyze them and see what they’ll do I’m going to show you how this pops up? Okay right here it has a keyword, search, it’s called keyword overview and I’m going to put in make. This is one a lot of people search for, and I want to see how well it does here make money on line. Okay, let’s see what comes up all right down here.

It has a monthly volume with that keyword or the tagline. However, whatever you want to call it, and this phrase is searched, seventy thousand to one hundred eighteen thousand times a month, so it’s searched a lot. So, looking at that you’re going to have a little bit of competitions got other people probably have that out there and it’s searched a lot. But that’s a good thing. I mean people are looking to make money online.

So that’s that’s very good. Let’s look at the next section. The next section says it has a 54 for difficulty. What does that mean the higher that that score is the harder it will be for you to get a hit on your site? If that makes sense, there’s a lot of competition. I would say it 54, probably a lot of competition for that exact phrase. Now again, yes, people are looking for money online, but maybe we can find some other variations of that phrase so that we’re not looking exactly for that one and that’s what’s kind of neat you can go in and rephrase it and do some testing.

With that phrase, the next one is organic CTR. That means click-through rate, so the higher that number is the better, so 54 %. When people see that phrase they do a search, your click-through rate is pretty good at 54 %. I really like this last number. It’s called priority and we have an 82 there, and actually, that is your search engine results. That’s not your search! It’s your difficulty, your opportunity and your volume combined, it’s kind of like what does it look like altogether again, the higher that number is the better.

So, yes, that is definitely a good keyword. Now, like I said you might want to use a variation. So if you slide down here, they actually give you some variations. Alright, so make money online fast. You still have four to six thousand people looking for it, but you’re just adding one more word and that kind of narrows it down to look, but it a little bit make money online today make money online with Google see how these are changing.

Make money online from home and then you can click here and see even more suggestions. So that’s where you really want to be a little bit strategic and start putting in make money online, but you want to add to it so that your use your sticking out a little bit more, uniquely than just using that phrase. If that makes sense and you’re still going to get a lot of people looking for that now, a serpent alysus that is a search engine results page so when they ran the review of the keyword, these are some articles or different blogs that came up different sites That had a really good results using that.

So that’s what these are, so you can go in and look at these other sites and see what other keywords that they use to get that high of a of that many people looking at their site. So these are the top ones that came up. You’ve got three here and you can click down here for full analysis. So in a nutshell, for your free, mas keyword, search engine, optimization tool, that’s what you can do with them.
