Okay, so how do I know insurance marketing tips that you? I know you want to know? Well, all we do is insurance marketing, so I’m Melana McCarter, the president and founder co-founder of secure agent marketing. All we do is insurance marketing, lead development. Everything we’re one of the you know largest in the country that specialize only in insurance.
So what I want to do is break down five important tips. The reason I picked these five is because, no matter how large or small, how new or old most people that I talk to are missing one of these five tips. Typically, you know you would be surprised. Even large companies don’t have some of these things in order. So the first thing that I want to go through is make sure that you pay attention and build your brand okay.
What do I mean by that? Well, people work with brands and people like you have got to make sure that your identity is passed through your materials, your you know. If you have a presentation, folder your business card, your website, your social media profiles, you have to have that brand developed. There really needs to be a strong brand presence. You need to think through that. What do you want people to feel whenever they, you know, go to your website? What do you want them to think when they go to your website? Do you want to present yourself as buttoned up professional, you know executive or do you want to be casual? You know fun and you know friendly or do you want to be educational or you got to think through that and all those things come through and your brand right so there’s nothing more important when it comes to brand development, then your logo, okay, logos, are not That hard to create you can have your friend do it.
You can do it on your with, with yourself in Photoshop, there’s plenty of free tools that you can use to throw up a logo. You can even go to Fiverr and have somebody throw up a logo for 5. 10. 15. 20 bucks. The main thing that you want to do is make sure that you’ve defined that logo and you put that logo on your business card. Your shirt, your website, everything it needs to be consistent. I can’t tell you how many insurance professionals I see, with 14 different logos between every interaction that I have with them.
They got their logo and there’s email signatures different than the one that’s on their website. That’s different from one of their t-shirt: okay, don’t be sloppy your brand, it really presents you are, and in the insurance business, it’s all about being a professional and driving confidence and then other individual that you’re talking to to potentially work with and having inconsistencies on a Subconscious level it does mess with your buying process.
It’s it’s like having a messy storefront if you were to walk into a storefront another thing that is super important when you’re talking about building your brand is developing. What’s called like a brand board now, a lot of you maybe haven’t heard of a brand board or know what that is what a brand board is in the marketing industry. Creating a brand board is basically one document that is essentially everything that has to do with your brand’s.
So if you have a web developer or a person doing a postcard for you or a person, doing a letterhead for you or a person doing some type of customer appreciation, postcard or email or website or whatever you have one place, that all of your brand key Components are, and so that that designer or marketing professional can then make sure that they’re, not using you, know different logos or different fonts or different colors, you know being off just a little bit, you know is actually a mistake.
So what a brand board is? Is it has your logo and your different variations of your logo? What’s your logo, look like on a white background? What’s it look like on a back background? What does it look like transparent, so you can put on a t-shirt. You got to think through all those things, so the next thing that a brand board has is your font. What is the actual font of your website of your letterhead of everything, a designer needs to know those things also, what’s the color scheme, what are the actual colors that I was to go, look and represent on you know if I was to put one color the Same color on your postcard that you’re just mailing versus your website versus your t-shirts or whatever, that is what’s the actual color number, but that individual needs to know to look it up whenever they’re doing their designing right.
You also going to have textures and images. I’r going to show you an example of our brand board, we’re going through sort of a rebranding process. That’s the curation marketing I’ll show you our branding board right now. If you look it, we have all those L all right so step. Number two: is you want to make sure that you want to implement that brand into your website? Well, if you’ve created a excellent brand board, then it’s really easy to you know if that brand board as a designer, it’s really easy to look at that brand board and then build a website that matches that brand board very easily, because it’s got your logo.
It’s got your color scheme, it’s got your shape. It’s got your images. It’s really easy for a marketing professional to actually build your website. That also is cheaper for you. It shaves off hours of revisions that you’re going to go through because well I don’t necessarily like that, but I didn’t really know why. I don’t like that. I just don’t like it. Well, all that’s solved if you have a brand consistency set and if your web developer comes back with a idea, that’s completely different than your brand.
You could be like no, no, no look. Look at my brand board like what are you talking about? Why would I like purple my color scheme? Is that purple see see here’s my brand right? That’s super important. So your website is what I would say. Like your digital, you know a handshake. So what happens in the insurance? A lot of insurance is done over the phone. A lot of insurance is done. You know there you’re letting people in your home you’re talking you’re, giving your credit card number you’re, giving your you know.
Bank account information, sometimes over the phone to people that are coming to your home. It is super super important that your website is put together. Crisp clean, you know, communicates who you are etc right, it’s really very, very important and moving into 2020, because we, you know the industry is moving towards a digital path where you know we’re not as likely likely to put this way. The trend in insurance marketing is being done more and more over the phone.
So therefore, I’m not having the opportunity to show up in my nice car with my nice suit or whatever you need to have a nice website. That explains who you are that people can trust you right so now, whenever you are talking about your actual website, make sure that you have your main pages built out and you’re really. You know communicating extremely clearly on what you do and who your target audience is cetera.
Okay, so what I mean by that is you want to make sure that all of your pages across your top of your website are broken out so like for an example, you want to have an about us, you know section, you won’t have a page for each Of your main services that you offer so, if you offer, for instance, final expense, insurance, Medicare and Medicare supplement, you want three different. Particular you know pages in your website that talks about those particular verticals and educates to that particular audience, because the person that’s interested in med sup is not the same person, that’s interesting, final expense and the person.
That’s interested in final expense is not the same person. That’s interested in term life, so you want to make sure that you don’t just have one page on your website that talks all about insurance services we offer and then as bullet points or whatever each major service that you have you want to have it have its Own page, all right, you also want to have a testimonials page and then, most importantly, you want to have a blog feed write that blog feeds we’re going to circle back more to later, but that blog feed is super important, because that’s how you create content, you Educate your customers, you actually get a lot of organic website traffic by blogging.
We’re going to get into that here in a little bit step. Number three: okay is going to be set up. Your social media profiles consistent with your brand board and your website. They all the main social media profiles. You know in LinkedIn, Instagram Facebook. They all have an opportunity to design your logo. There’s a header image. You can make that design. Look exactly like your website! You want your website to match your brand and your social media profiles to match your web.
Your website, your social media profiles, are seen as the personality of your digital presence. Your website is like the information. The social media is your personality: okay, whenever you’re doing insurance, business and the insurance industry, we are people, it’s relationships, it’s referrals. Okay, if I believe, or not, like your social media presence, actually matters in insurance. If you you’re in the fear in the insurance industry, you know that there’s a lot of influencers.
In fact, you know Cody Asche is my business partner, built his entire. You know empire on social media, digital marketing, etc. It’s because you took that very serious. When you look at his youtube, header looks exactly like his facebook header looks exactly like his website and it’s all and consistent. That’s not an accident okay, so you know you want to make sure also you’re leveraging those social platforms.
There’s tools that can allow you to schedule posts out. It is important if you’re a producer to have. You know three to four to five potential website posts per week, we’re going to get into how to actually do that here in a little bit. But it’s easy. If you just schedule it, so, if you create some content, just think for 10 minutes on what’s coming up this week, what’s the holiday whatever it is and then schedule out those posts so that you can, then you know not have to do it every day.
Just handle it on Monday morning you got all your post scheduled Poti was scheduled for the month for all that matters right. So that’s a tool that you can actually leverage to not make. It seem overbearing to manage a social media profile. You can schedule. Those point number four for insurance marketing tips. Working right now is you’re going to create some lead development activities. Okay. Now? What do I mean by lead development activities? Well, in the insurance business, you have to actually get people to talk to to be able to make money.
Your lead development is a direct correlation. How much money that you make? Okay, well, digital marketing and social media is extremely powerful to generate leads. You can do it through paid methods on social media. You can do it through organic methods, on social media and content. I’r going to touch on both the first thing you can do is build out. You know marketing campaigns with social media.
We obviously do this for a lot of our customers, so just as an example, if you’re selling, you know statewide, Medicare or statewide, you know final expense. We can be generating leads for five six, seven, eight, nine bucks, apiece per lead of people that are talking to you – can even get down to as small as a zip code to drive those campaigns. Now, if this is all intimidating to you, then you can work with a professional to make sure they’re not blowing through budget, because one thing that will happen is if you’re not super comfortable, is you will waste a lot of money? If you don’t know what you’re doing to try and learn, so we would love to help you with that.
Another thing you can do is organic activity. That constraint leads so that be making social posts. You know that would be creating content on your blog, we’re going to get into that next and just overall creating content and educating users creating articles, doing blogs, just creating sort of content that is built to educate and is built to get the individual to engage with Your content and educate tip number five is produce consistent content.
Now, a good content strategy is really not that hard. You just have to think about it. Okay, so here’s a content strategy that I would recommend this is going to help you with your organic lead, generating activities he’s going to help you with your referrals, it’s going to help you with just becoming an expert in the industry as well. So all you have to do is come up with four blog topics per month.
Okay, that’s not that many release one a week. It needs to be about 400 to 600 words all right once you create that blog topic go and write the actual blog posts. You know for 600 words and then create a vlog, whether it’s on your cell phone or a camera or whatever, and create a YouTube article. That’s talking about the same topic and embed that YouTube article in your blog. Okay, then take that blog content and blog content.
Chop it into five smaller pieces. Maybe it’s just points or highlights of the actual content, whatever it is, and then post those five smaller pieces on your social media platforms throughout the week right then email, the actual blog content to your actual user database as well driving them to more content. To read from your site so that way: you’re covering your social, your blogging, your email, marketing and everything that has to do with content marketing.
It’s not that hard to come up with four blog contents per month and write. You know 1800 words or whatever produce some articles only if do this once a month. You can knock that out in one day and you’d be surprised how many organic referrals you get organic website traffic. You get if it’s all structured the right way and I would just highly highly recommend creating a content strategy, because people work with the people that educate them now.
What I want you to do is make sure that you understand that if you have any problems with implementing any of this, we would love to help you so create your marketing is built to help any of the five. But I will also tell you you also don’t have to pay a professional for any of those five as well. Those are all things that you can do for free. So, if you’re on a budget, do it yourself and get a professional later if you have one to invest in your business, if you feel weak on one of those, five then reach out to us and love to do a consultation with you.
I’r talking about that actual particular project that you’re talking about and help you create your brand board or help create your website or help it create your lead, generating activity. I hope you create your blog content or article content, whatever we do. All of that. As a part of our services, so if you guys found value of these five insurance marketing tips working right now, and we will talk to you, hey guys.
If you enjoyed that article, which I know you did go check out, two of other articles, ones, demystifying search, engine, optimization and the other ones managing online reviews, I hope to see you guys over there.
So in this article, I’m going to show you step by step, how we use cold emails to get clients and grow our business hey, what’s up its Sean Anthony and if you were an entrepreneur looking to level up your business, your skills and your income make sure You head below right now hit that subscribe button and I post articles just like this: every Tuesday and Thursday.
So in this article, you’re going to learn how we use cold emails to get clients and grow our business by pretty much spending zero dollars and zero risk right. So the way that cold emailing works, the sales process is step number one. We create an ideal client profile right. We need to answer the question: who are we targeting? Who are we reaching out to right? We need to know the exact industry, the decision maker that were reaching out to how bigger these companies.
This is going to give us a real, clear picture and allow us to create a message that converts right. So that’s step number one is to create an ideal client profile step. Number two: is we need to create a list of prospects who fit that ideal and profile? So, let’s just say that we’re targeting home remodeling companies with 10 to 20 employees who are in California or who are in Washington or something right.
We need to know exactly who we’re targeting and once. We know that we can create a list of prospects who fit that criteria right. So that’s that number two is to create a list of prospects who fit that ICP step. Number three is to create a messaging sequence: a cold email, messaging sequence designed to generate appointments right. So we have. We usually have three to four messages that go out, so we have the main message that goes out, and then we have three two to three follow-up cycle after that right now.
The goal of these emails is to generate an appointment. It’s not to get a sale on the spot right, we’re nuts we’re not sending someone a link to buy now we’re sending them an email, we’re asking them if they want to get on the phone to learn more about what we have to offer right. So that’s step. Number three is to create a messaging sequence of cold email, messaging sequence. That’s designed to generate appointments and then step number four is once you generate the appointment right once you send these out you’re going to have percentage of those prospects, say yes, they’re going to raise their hand and say yes, I’m interested in learning more you’re going to Hop on the phone with those people down the phone with them and close the deal right for your service.
So we’re going to go over steps 1 through 3. How to set all that up, create your ICP, create a list of audio prospects who fit that ICP and then also how to create a messaging sequence, called email, messaging sequence and the tools that we used to do that. Okay. So, let’s jump into my computer right now, alright! So I’m in the computer now and I’m going to walk you through real quickly again the four-step process on how we use cold emails to get new clients and grow our business without spending money on ads and all that stuff right.
So first off arena cover steps. Steps one through three step, four will be in a separate article right. This is that that’s the actual sales portion of things but step one is to create an ICP, and I do plan profile to know who you’re going to be targeting right. No, exactly we’re going to be targeting step. Number two is to create a list of people who fit your ICP who fit the criteria right and step.
Number three is once you’ve created a list. You need to create a messaging sequence to go to those people on that list to generate an appointment right and it’s not to get a sale. It’s not to send them a link to buy now it’s to get them on the phone. So you can close the deal on the phone right, which is step number four, which is to pH get on the phone and close the deal right. So this is the exact process that we use, I’m going to cover steps 1 through 3 in this article right.
How to create an ICP, how to get the list, the tools that we use and then how to create a messaging sequence and then automate the sending of that right. So, let’s jump right into it. So I have this little Google sheet here, and this is actually what we use when we’re setting up a cold email campaign. This is a simple google sheet right. This is all you need now. What I want you to do first, is create something that says just create a tab that says ICP right and what the ICP is again ideal, client profile and you this is actually what we use when we first started growth response right, so you should know the Industries that you’re targeting what are their industries well we’re targeting computer software, internet and information technology, and these are this – is from LinkedIn right these these industry titles.
Where are they located? What’s the geography well they’re, located in the USA in Europe in Australia, we actually just started with the USA, though just to keep it simple, and that was a big enough pool for us. The target company size. How big are these companies, so we actually started with 11 to 50 employees? Okay, so how many employees are in these companies? I recommend you stick under 50 employees.
If you’re brand new, the bigger up you go, the harder or the longer the sales cycle is right. So you want to target the small business size, people who are in that, like 11 to 50, employee range, okay, job titles, who are you targeting? Well, we mostly started with founder level, but we also were targeting once we went through founders, we’re also targeting C CEOs. Chi, Sigma Chi chief executive officers and CMOS chief marketing officers right.
These are all people who can benefit or want to have a conversation about our service right. So we, these are all the titles for you. It’s most likely going to be like the business owner right or like if you’re targeting like medical practices. It would be like a dentist or like a I don’t know like oh, oh optometrists or whatever they call those things so there’s whatever you’re targeting you want to list the job titles here right, and you also want to have the pain points and the problems and, If you don’t know this, you need to research it okay, because this is going to be important for your messaging.
So what were the pain points and problems of our market of the these SAS companies? Well, first of all, I didn’t they’re not generating enough high-quality leads. Second, they’re spending too much time on prospecting and data research tests right we were taught we were doing research on platforms like kora and seeing what people were asking in our market and a lot of them were saying. Oh, I spent way too too much time too much hours on prospecting and building lists right.
So we added that to the pain points. Also, we were seeing that a lot of founders. They were just starting their companies or they’re just getting going and they didn’t have the time or the budget to spend on building like a large sales team. So then, one of the fast results they wanted to get leads coming in now they didn’t want to wait months and months to do that. Okay, so what do we? What are we offering? What are you actually what’s your service that you’re offering to the market to help them solve these pain points and problems right? We were offering done for your LinkedIn prospecting right, we’re generating leads through outbound and LinkedIn.
Messages now found connection requests, okay and expect the results. You should know this so if you’re doing like a drop servicing business, how you get this is you go to you find a white label provider or freelancer? And you ask them these questions right. You look for the service, what’s included in the service. What are the expected results from their clients right, and you can leverage that information to fill this in here? Okay, so this doesn’t need to be all you.
Do you want to find a white label provider? You can ask them: what’s the expected results, if I give you clients for it for this service right now, the benefits of eight to twelve appointments and well, why do they want appointments a month or extra appointment? Well, it saves time for their sales team, because that’s what the sales team is doing is jet is trying to generate appointments do prospecting, so it saves time for them.
It also saves money and time and resources on training right, so they don’t have to train their team and spend months three four months: training their team on how to use LinkedIn or how to prospect in general. They can get going right away right and then also they get more high. Quality leads and appointments every month to help them increase sales and that’s what they want right. So you can. You can see it’s the inverse of all these things here.
Okay, so keep it simple. Do some research, if you don’t know these things, but don’t this should take no longer than like a few hours or like a day to do? Okay at max so once you’ve done, this you’ve created your step, one right: we’ve we’ve done this cross that out we’re going to go to step two build your prospect list. Okay, now there’s a lot of different ways that you can do this, but what I’ll show you the different places that we use right? We use find that lead and that’s for, if we’re targeting like b2b, like soft b2b, SAS companies or like tech, tech companies and all that stuff, when we’re targeting b2b we’re going to use, find that leak and they source their in, I think they source their data From LinkedIn, that’s why we use that if we want very specific businesses that have very specific attributes, we use up work.
So let’s just say that we want to target only medical spas. Who are you who offer CoolSculpting, which is a certain type of procedure right. We if we want a very specific business that offers a very specific service like that, we’ll hire someone on up work for like $ 300 or so to create a targeted list of those prospects that fit that criteria. If we’re targeting local businesses right, you can use something called d7 lead finder, and this is very good for, like those local brick-and-mortar stores and local businesses in general right.
So these are the different places that we use for the most part. You can also just go on Google if you want to save money, because these all cost money to use like no more than like 50 bucks a month or so. But if you don’t want to do that, you can always just manually, go to websites and find emails that way. Okay, but these are the places that we use so for this training. For this article, I’m going to show you how easy that lead com.
Okay, so I’m going to jump into this tool here and find that Lee again is: we use it mainly for a bead to be right for targeting like agencies and other freelancers and information technology companies and SAS companies. We use find that lead. So what you want to do is I’m going to show you why your ICP is so important here, you’re going to click, start new list and here’s how I name it. You just want to make it easy to identify right.
So I’m just going to do this! Software 11 to 50 employees, USA, founder okay. So now I know exactly when I look at this list who is in this list right? You want to be able to identify that where they located where it’s going to be United States. Job title is the founder and Industry, computer software, Internet’s information technology, all right and then 1150 employees. So now what do we see here? We have two thousand nine hundred people who fit this criteria and we grab this criteria directly from our ICP right.
So we have the industry, is the geography, the company size and the job titles right now the pain points and problems these these things are going to be using the actual messaging, but you can see here now what we have. We can just click generate list here and I’m not going to do this right now, because I’m not trying to use credits on this, but if we call generate list it’s going to search for the best prospects who fit that criteria, then we click generate emails.
Here. We click FTL servers and this is going to create a list and grab the emails of all the people on this list. Okay, now what this looks like – and I just I’ll just – I just already imported a completed list here right. I just imported this, but I got this. What this looks like is, if we click on prospector, again see current. If I click export CSV, it’s going to allow you to export only the correct emails right that I have a hundred percent accuracy.
That’s what you want! So you, like you, don’t get like bounced emails and all that stuff right. So once your list is done exporting or done grabbing the emails, you can export it and you can export only the correct email so that you don’t have delivery issues and then you’re going to have a CSV. That looks just like this okay and it has their first name, their last name, their position, their company website, industry, company size location, their LinkedIn profile, their email, and I’m just going to delete this stuff because we know correct.
We exported only the correct emails, so I delete this. This is all the information that we need for the most part right. So what I’m going to do is copy this. You would copy this. I would copy it it to this sheet here to their first name. I would copy this into their last name. You don’t have to do it like this. This is just the way that I do it or you can just copy the whole sheet. I’r just show you an example of how we, how we have our virtual assistants do this oops title company and the reason we need this information is because we’re going to import it into a separate tool to automate the sending of these emails right.
So we have this now we have I’m just going to do find that lead okay. So what do we have here? We have a list of first name – last name company, title email address and the source of where we got them from find out lead com, and we have a list of people who fit our ICP or ideal client profile. We have a list of people, we can send emails to right. So that’s step number two. We just did list creation right now.
Step number three is to create a messaging sequence. That’s designed to generate appointments. So I have this tab here. There’s a lot of different messaging differences and variations that we test with right. What I’m going to tell you now is you cannot just copy and paste this and expect it to work all the time and then complain like. Oh those are work, I’m not getting appointments. I’r not getting sales, I’m not getting clients, you need to test things on your own and learn to just experiment right.
So what I’m giving you here is something that’s worked very well for us, that’s been very effective for us. That does not mean if you copy and paste it that you’re going to get the same results right. So that’s just not the way things work, I’m going to show you what we use. One of the sequences that we use. We use many different variations depending on who we’re targeting, but this is a very simple one that we use: okay, so the breakdown of every cold email.
You have a subject line, we have the intro, we have the big promise and then we have like a proof element right and if you don’t have proof you again, if you’re a drop servicing business and you have a white label provider leverage their proof leverage their Testimonials on their social proof right and then we have a call to action. We also have, if you have some kind of authority content like a guide or a white paper, you can add some kind of PS line with that that builds credibility and authority right.
So here’s an example here and here’s just some subject lines here – that we use we use again tons of different ones that we split test with you have to split test on your own. I can’t tell you what the best subject line is, but here’s a simple one subject line Shawna found you on LinkedIn and this would be the person’s name right, so this gets their attention and then it shows where you found them right.
This seems to this seems to work well because people want to know. Oh, this guy found me on a social media platform. What is yet to say, okay, so you want to get them to open the email. You want to make sure that you’re not saying anything like free offer inside right, those don’t work. You want to make sure it’s just like casual and something you would kind of send to a friend or someone that, like like a colleague, you just met right.
So Sean funny on LinkedIn intro, I came across your profile on LinkedIn and, given your background thought it made sense to reach out big promise. We have a done-for-you LinkedIn prospecting service for b2b SAS companies that can help. You generate eight to twelve more demos every month. Without wasting your sales reps time on prospecting, proof, we’ve helped similar companies like a B and C to automate their lead generation and book eight to twelve more sales appointments per month, which has helped to increase sales.
Is this something you need help with right? So the call to action we want to get them to say yes or say no right, they say no, we remove them from our list if they say yes, we set up a time to chat with them. Okay, so the PS line. We have a LinkedIn guide that we send out, so you just say: PS. Here’s a guide: we’ve created them, how to help SAS companies generate more appointments using LinkedIn. Okay.
Now, if I go back to my ICP tab here, you can see why these are so important. We play on the pain points and the expected the results of our service right. You want to make sure that you have these things in your email. Okay. So if we go back here once we send this first email, you’re going to have most people are not going to respond to that first email. So what we want to do is follow up right. So three to four days after that, first email and the tool I’m going to show you automate this.
We want to send a second email, and this is just the kind of bump bump the loop, the last email to the top. A lot of people don’t have time to respond right away, or maybe they just didn’t see it and what we say is hey. First name or hey Sean just quickly, following up on the email I sent a few days ago, any thoughts on that are done for your Linkedin prospecting service can help. You generate more leads without spending hours every day on prospecting, a data research task.
Would it be useful? The call to action is what it’d be useful to have a quick conversation on how we might be able to help you write, so you can see again very short and to the point and value-driven like how we can help them white. What’s in it for them, why should they care right? So if they care about generating more leads and they’re, not using LinkedIn – and they are spending way too much time on prospecting and data research tasks, they’re going to want to respond to at least hear us out right and again notice – we’re not pitching them right away.
We’re not selling them we’re sending them a bye link, we’re asking them to get on the phone, and so we can talk to them. Learn about their business, learn if it’s a fit, and then we can offer them an opportunity to work with us. If it does sound like it’s a fit okay, so the last message: email three: if they still don’t respond, we send one more email after a week and we might just say something like hey: first name, I’ve reached out a couple times.
I didn’t hear back and I realize I may have jumped the gun, my intent, my intent is not to be a pain, so there’s going to be my last follow-up, but if you’re open to connect about generating more leads on LinkedIn, please hit reply to. Let me know either way. I wish you all the best right, so you can see a really soft, just like like a an exit email. I guess I don’t know what to call it like us: a send off email, right, you’re, going to have a portion of people who respond to this, and, like oh sorry about that, I actually meant to respond, but I forgot about it right.
So I can’t remember what the exact statistic is, but it’s something like it takes 8 to 12 touch points before someone responds or someone becomes a buyer right. So you want to make sure this. The reason why we follow up – and this is why we use a lot of platforms like LinkedIn and cold email and Facebook and Instagram – is because it takes a lot of touch points to get on someone’s radar. If they’ve never heard about you before right.
So we follow up, you know through two to three different times and our goal is still to get them on the phone with us right. So if they don’t, if they don’t respond to this, then we stop contact again contacting them. After this, we don’t keep on following up like like to eight to ten different times, email, because that will piss them off and will mark you as spam. But you can see here it’s just very short to the to the point sweet value-driven like.
Why? Should they care? Why should they want to get on the phone with us right, but that is our process here right, so we just did this creating a message sequence. What do we actually use to automate the sending? There are a lot of different tools out there that you can use, but one of the ones that we use is called mail shake, and I believe this is like 20 30 bucks a month now and what this does is once you’ve created your messaging sequence here.
Right, you can go into mail shake, you. Can click create a campaign, I’m just going to leave it as this I’m going to click Next, you can import your lists. I’r just going to go here just to a test list here and then you can import like the email address and their name click Next. Okay! So now everything imported. I skipped it a bit because I didn’t want you to wait now. All you have to do is plug and play right.
So we have here. We have our subject line right and you want to make sure that this does first name or their name or whatever it is. This name found you think then okay and then we’re just going to copy our our email right. So we go name okay, they sit out a bit okay, so you can see here we have our exact email from our sheet. We just copied and pasted it into here and then we can add the follow-up.
So I’m not I’m not going to waste your time and do all this, but you just set the amount of days you have the the actual subject line of the email you copy and paste the text into here and then, when you’re done, you just click Next Oops next, then, you click Next again and you schedule the actual email right. This is going to take a while because I think it’s going to prep the campaign right, but you can see here.
Oh here we go so you can see hi okay, but it personalizes it to their name. You can have the follow-ups go X, amount of days after that automatically if they don’t respond, and then it has the exact messaging sequence that you created in the last step. Right, so this is step by step. This is how we use cold email to get new clients and grow our business without ads and without complex sales funnels and all that stuff right.
Cold email is still one of our best blogs for client generation, new client generation. Right because it’s predictable, it’s measurable, we can do it every single day. It doesn’t cost much like other than that, like the tools that we pay a little amount for every single month, but we covered the ICP we’ve covered, creating a list that fits your ICP. We covered creating a messaging sequence and I all should also showed you the tools that we use right.
I actually work with. This is actually what we run as a service. We actually do cold emailing for people in our agency right, so this you can take this and run with it. Obviously you have to experiment with a different messaging here right, but this is our step-by-step guide. This is exactly how we send cold emails and set everything up to send cold emails and get clients for our business all right.
So I hope this was helpful for you guys if you want to see anything else around cold emailing or if you have any questions or comments or concerns, make sure you comment below leave this article like if you, if you like long form, guides like this and Yeah, I will see you in the next article. I will link to some other emailing and lead-generation articles on the side here, but yeah. I hope you guys enjoyed this and I’ll see you in the next article.
This afternoon’s have Barrett Hall with jobber. If you’re not familiar with Java. It’s a cloud-based tool that helps organize field service based businesses and john r assists was quoting team management, scheduling and invoicing. Barrett Hall is the marketing manager for Java and works with the jobber team to help make sense of their data thanks everybody for joining us on this demo, like Austin, says I’m, I work with jobber and we we work with companies, field service companies, so basically companies That are stationed quite often out in the field and for residential or commercial cleaners, that’s most of them, because they’re they’re doing their business out in the field and our company.
It’s a cloud-based business where we’re trying to save our customers, time taking manual, invoicing processes and manual scheduling processes that have quite often been in pen and paper or again, those those manual processes and make them more automatic, save time and that’s what our software is really Good at so we’re not here to talk about job, or so I won’t spend too much more time there, but did want to give a quick overview at the end of the webinar.
I’r happy to answer any questions about jobber and we will be sending out an email to to those of you who are on the call um just with a bit of a discount for your first few months of job or, if you’d like, to give us a Try or if you have any questions, we’re always available for a demo or happy to talk through the software, so I’m Barrett, that’s that’s my mug! That’s my face. I get to use a lot because I work a matching shirt um to the backdrop on picture day.
Apparently, but I am the marketing manager with Jabbar and i’ve been working in digital analytics for a number of years. One of the things I love about the online space when it comes to your communication or your marketing is that it’s so measurable. Obviously, with Java, we do a lot of online advertising as well as offline, but that challenge of, if you take out a flyer in the local newspaper, measuring that is far more difficult than with your online ability to look at the analytics.
You can see exactly where what advertising traffic sources people came from and how they contacted you or submitted a quote or ask for a quote story or gave you a phone call. So that’s one of the things I love about analytics and in particular digital. So we’re going to dive in now Austin we’re trying out a new thing where we’re going to do some polls with the webinar. So we’re going to put a poll on the page that correct us and just quickly ask the attendees.
How often they look at google analytics, so I’m seeing the poll hoping everybody else is so how often you check your Google Analytics data select one of the following it, and this is something that there is well, certainly with an anonymous pool, there’s no right or wrong Answer but even um yeah, even when I’m talking to you, know in past when I was talking to clients or when we’re talking at job, or there is no perfect answer for this other than just having a general idea of where things are and then we’re going To get into some of the different reporting analysis, give you a few seconds to fill that out and I think Austin the control is with you.
Is that correct perfect? So the first thing I’m going to talk about is reporting versus analysis. Um reporting shows the data analysis, provides action items on what we can do with the data. So this is one of my big complaints with google analytics, and this isn’t really. Google analytics is fault, but there is just so much data and so quite often when users go in there for the first time, it’s so overwhelming it’s it’s kind of paralyzing.
You don’t know what to do with it. So quite often you’ll see people just pick. A few numbers and we’re going to report on it, but that doesn’t really tell us what it means um. It doesn’t tell us what has worked in the past or what we should change up in the future. So we’re going to go through five reports that we’ve got a hand-picked. That would be good for cleaning businesses that will help drive action because really we’re not just trying to create a cute report or we’re not just trying to have a bunch of numbers on a screen.
That’s going to impress somebody we want meaning and, and that’s what we really want to focus on. We want to focus on the analysis so with that, and this is on the same tone. We’ve got vanity metrics and awesome metrics, so our managing metrics are kind of the metrics that you see right when you log into Google Analytics, and they don’t really mean anything. They don’t tell you how to change your website or how to change some of your communication strategies when you’re getting people to your site, then there are awesome metrics that actually mean something they actually indicate.
There is some success in your business or your website is doing what you want it to do. So. My favorite examples of vanity metrics are pages per session and pageviews. So you’re going to see this typically when you first log into Google Analytics depending how your dashboard is set up. But you’re going to see this pages per session metric and that kind of implicitly implies that the more pages per session the better.
But if you actually step back and think about it a little bit, that’s not true for a lot of your cleaning business websites, I’m making an assumption, but you want customers to log onto your website. You want them to maybe check out your services page and maybe go to a contact page. Maybe they log on to your homepage right away and go straight to the contact page. That could be a really successful visit and they’ve only visited two pages.
Conversely, if somebody takes eight pages per session to find out how to contact you or find out what it is, you really do or what services you offer we’re, not providing a very good experience. So to me those metrics don’t really mean anything. On the other side. Awesome metrics an email signup, so this is something that’s very tangible. Let’s say, you’ve got a newsletter on your website and you’re, hoping that people are going to sign up how many people are signing up.
These are the people that we’re going to talk to they’ve engaged with us. They want to hear from us. It’s a similar note could be a form submission requesting a quote or just a contact us submission, so the email signup form submission contact us. Those are awesome. Metrics, that’s what your website is meant to do is get in touch with your customers. Revenue is another good one, you’re going to see this more with ecommerce sites than with cleaning service websites, but not said we can still tie some revenue to your goals.
Let’s say hypothetically, i’m going to throw out some numbers here, one out of every three people that submits a contact form it converts into a paying customer that customer your average customer is about one hundred and fifty dollars. We can assign a value to each form submission, so in that case it would be fifty dollars per form, submission really, whatever it works out to be, but that it’s real meaning.
That means so much more than pageviews and then lastly, goal conversion rate. If we’re going to use the example of the form submission and we’re going to be using that fair bit throughout this presentation, how many people are coming to your site and are doing that that one action we want them to do so in this case four point: Seven, seven percent of people are coming to your site and filling out a form, and then we want to start asking questions about.
You know seasonality. We want to start doing some segmentation, and that brings us into the next slide, which is segmentation, so data in aggregate doesn’t give us much to work with we’re segments, and segmentation is a great way to identify actionable insights. So what I mean by this, if we’re looking at our conversion rate on the last slide I’ll just stand back there, a 4.7 seven percent. How can we segment the data I people on that are coming from facebook versus Google search? Are some of those people converting at a higher rate are what kind of seasonality can we compare? You know September in October to the summer months of july in august, are we seeing ups and downs there and that can help you make decisions um? If you know, if you can learn from this, and you can put your money in a better place when it comes to your marketing efforts and not just money, your time, which is always very valuable and there’s never enough of it, so we’re going to set up Your goals and we’re going to do one more poll, because I’m curious about this one in terms of how many people have set up their goals in Google Analytics if they do go into a Google Analytics semi-regularly.
So Austin. If you want to put that pole up, we can do that. Oh, let me just say that I presented as a presenter rights back and let me give it back to you so goals those ways that we can get away from vanity metrics and I’m going to quickly show how to set them up in Google Analytics. There’s lots of documentation on how to set these up show my screen. So if you do have questions, there’s I’m certainly available to help with this after the call, but I’m going to do a quick high-level how to set it up and again setting up actionable goals.
How many times was our price and guide downloaded? How many times did somebody fill out a contact form that means so much more than things like page views or even average time on site so and also, let me know when you’d like me to take over again. I think we’re showing my screen right now. Oh good, go ahead. I my screen shows the poll bang-up, but I guess that’s: that’s incorrect! Um! Okay, let me go ahead and close that go ahead.
Her. It sounds good, so I’m going to get out of the presentation for a second and I’m going to go over to my google analytics account this actually isn’t. My google analytics account it’s a friends whose we’re just we don’t have any real data in here right now. It’s what we’ve done the account, but when you log in you’re, going to see these tabs at the top home reporting customization and admit you, click on the admin side and then over here on the right-hand side, the third column, there’s a goals, button or a goals, Link so you’re going to click that we don’t have any goals in here.
So you’re just going to create a new goal and it’s really straightforward. We can pick a template, hit, continue and then again, because a lot of the sites that we’re talking about a lot of people that are on the call today are going to be lead generation type websites. You want people to contact us, so we’re going to call this goal. Contact us form submission, so I’m making an assumption that you’ve got to form on your website.
You might have to talk to the person that manages your website or your webmaster to get that on. There but there’s lots of great three tools, including Google Forms. I really like wufu um, where you can embed a form on your website and then once the form is completed, you can send somebody to a Thank You page. So that’s what the goal is. We’re going to set up you click destination and you hit continue, and basically what that means is anybody anytime.
Anybody hits that destination URL. So in this case will say, says thank you um, so Barrett’s cleaning service com, /. Thank you, then we’re going to see a goal fire off in Google Analytics and not something we know is, is a great metric, a great visit, a visit that had some value, you can add a value to it. I’r going to add $ 25 is how much I value each goal submission and then you can save this and that’s it.
So it’s a little daunting because when you get here, you’ve got all these different things. You can do, I’m not a web developer. So I find it overwhelming sometimes, but just know that you just have to go to the goal. Screen create a new goal, and – and that’s it so now that we’ve got our goal, set up we’ll head back to the presentation – and this is why we’re all here is five actionable or five analytic reports for a cannibal insights.
Again we’re going for our captain on. Instead of our vanity metrics, but they’ll really mean anything for us, so the first report I’m going to look at um, it’s a bus or a technology. Well, however, you want to move it it’s just time and also not just you know. I think thank you not on mute, we’re getting a little bit of keyboard in the guys from that problem at all, so on all the slides and I’m going to share the deck with everybody in the email we send out.
There’s this, how do you get there? So we’re going to go audience mobile overview and i’ll just show you the kind of this first one may be the first to right here, on the left, hand, side audience mobile overview and then the data you’re going to see here in the center part of the Screen is going to be the data that you see on this presentation. So what we want to learn here is what devices our users most likely to use when accessing our site and then based on our real metrics of with this particular set of data.
We’ve got the email signup goal, but let’s pretend it’s the form submission goal. Our certain device is underperforming. We want to ask our our conversions geared towards all devices, so when we ask what devices our users most likely to use when accessing our site, that’s really important. You know five years ago in web smartphones, we’re very new, so websites were did lock, designed to be desktop friendly people, weren’t thinking about accessing the web on their blackberry or iphone nearly as much five years ago as they were today.
So the first thing I kind of want to look at is how many sessions – and this is pretty unsurprising – we’re seeing a lot of people visit the site through mobile. A few through tablet – that’s a very surprisingly known, low number, and then you know about half the other half on desktop. So if you are seeing that on your site, a really big percentage of mobile usage, you want to make sure that your site looks really good on mobile.
So you know this is something that Google Analytics can’t tell you. This is where that analysis comes in open up your website on your phone on your tablet on your friends phone check it out on a few different devices. This is something your web developer should be able to help you out with you want to make sure that if you know half the people are visiting the site on mobile, then you want to make sure that you’re providing a really good mobile experience.
Getting on to the other question of our certain devices underperforming, this is quite a good conversion rate of five percent for an email signup. I didn’t. I know with with this particular analytics account the page and the communication was really geared towards signing up for an email newsletter, so you won’t often see if this high, but one thing we’re seeing here, is it’s great on so based on this data, I wouldn’t say That there’s a lot of changes we need to make, but it’s important to note: if this number seven percent was more, you know, half a percent and both tablet and desktop was above three percent.
We would know that there’s a bit of an issue there. We want our mobile device performing just as well as every other device, because it’s making up almost half of our visitors that are visiting our website. I would, with this specific set of data, I would actually ask the question of: why is it performing so good on mobile compared to desktop and again? This is something that Google Analytics can’t tell you.
You have to do a little bit of investigating, but I’d want to know I, when you land on the site on a mobile, are there certain? Is there certain messaging or calls to action that are driving this conversion rate way up? And if there is maybe there’s something we can mimic on desktop, so there’s no, no perfect. One answer, and I think that’s a really fun part of analysis and Google Analytics is Google Analytics, will put you down the right road on the right path and then you’re going to have to do a little bit of investigating.
So with each one of these reports. It creates more questions than answers, sometimes, where the questions we want to ask is: should the site be updated to be more mobile-friendly or responsive? Should there be layout changes on certain devices? So again, that’s kind of talking about how many visitors are accessing by different devices and and how our conversions are working on. Those different devices will move on to report number two, and I will just make a note tube that if I’m going too fast or even if you’d like me to speed up, feel for that, just send a note in the the webinar chat and I’m happy to Stop at any point and answer questions, the entire presentation will take about 30 minutes just over.
So I know we’ve got an hour book, so we do have lots of time to answer questions if needed. So our blog source is very similar to our technology report or our device report. In that it looks very similar. It has a lot of the same data, but now we’re segmenting not by technology, we’re segmenting by how people arrived on your site again, how do you get there? It’s in that left-hand, sidebar acquisition, all traffic blogs, and so we’ll just go through each of these blogs.
What they all mean direct means somebody typed your URL directly into their web browser, so wwta leading service com referral means that somebody clicked on a link that was on another website. So I’m giving this presentation today, the folks at cleaning business today will have the presentation up on their website or on a youtube link, and if somebody comes from one of those links to beget jabra.Com website, that’s a referral social pretty self-explanatory.
If somebody visited your site but immediately came from facebook, twitter linkedin, even Yelper tripadvisor, that will be categorized at social and we’ve got paid, search and organic search which I’ll quickly touch on I’ll, actually um oops, just leaving the presentation here. So what paid search is so? I’r going to look up cleaning businesses Edmonton, I’m based in Edmonton up north in Alberta in Canada.
These are all paid advertisements. You can see them from the ads right here and everything along the right-hand sidebar is an ad below this map and things included in this map. These are organic results. So when you hear people talk about paid and organic, that’s what they’re talking about so we’ll go back here. So we’ve got paid, search, organic search and then we’ve got email. So if you send out an email blast through something like MailChimp campaign, monitor industry, mail out, there’s lots of great third-party services to send out email blasts.
It will be categorized as email, so very sorts as you’re going to start to see some patterns. We’re going to ask similar questions in terms of what is underperforming and what can we learn from? We want to know when we’re looking at this, how were users finding our site and then what blogs and sources are driving valuable traffic and then what blogs and sources are driving less valuable traffic. So I think something that I find very interesting when looking at the set of data is out so much of it.
You know we start at the sessions, so much of the traffic is coming direct, so that means that they’re actually entering WWE arts cleaning service com into their browser. So what that kind of means is we’re talking to people that are already aware of our business, and we want to you know, that’s great. That means that we we have some good retention and and customers like us, because that’s driving a lot of traffic.
But what about these other ways where we can talk to people that aren’t actively searching for us um things like organic search? You know we want to be targeting things like cleaning services, Edmonton, not just Barrett’s cleaning service, so noticing that I would begin to ask questions about. Why is all this other traffic, or where some of were we falling behind in certain areas, organic search? How can we get our organic search? That’s a good question for your your SEO person or if you have an in-house marketer, who does a lot of search engine optimization, that’s an important question and then, of course like, like the last report, we’re going to look at what blogs and sources are driving valuable Traffic, so right here, organic and paid search.
Our search traffic is driving really great traffic, so this would, you know, say it amplifies what I would say before when we were just looking at this. Not only are we not getting very much traffic from this? This is, these are great visitors. So how can we increase our reach in organic traffic? Same thing with paid search, great conversion rate? How do we get our paid advertisements in front of more eyeballs, and you know there’s there’s not one simple solution.
Unfortunately, it’s not just increase the budget. There might be some different strategies there, but again analytics can get you on the starting point to do some analysis or make some really good decisions, the one that is really a way out of left field here is the referral traffic as a terrible conversion rate. But it’s driving the second most amount of traffic. Now that doesn’t mean your referrals are no good in this particular instance.
Maybe the referrals are you just had a job fair and people are coming looking for a job, so they’re not going to fill out your request. A quote contact form or sign up for emails, but it is worth investigating. Sometimes you can see through referral traffic you’ll see some spam sites get in there. So that might have been what happened here. We don’t have the answers right now, but it’s something worth investigating and something to be aware of the thing you really want to avoid is, if you spend a lot of time getting guest posts on another blog and you think it’s really valuable.
This data will tell you it is, or it isn’t valuable. So then, you can reallocate those resources, whether it be time or advertising spend and with all these guys too, if you click into the links, if I were to click into referral here, it would show me the actual referrals I can be social here. It would show me which blog weatherby, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. So again, what are we looking to learn? Can we increase our reach through profitable and engage blog, so we’ve coupled that with one increase that through paid and organic search, and then we want to understand why the less probable blogs aren’t work? Should we focus less on these, and so that’s that’s our questions with that referral.
What can we do to increase the profitability of that blog, so we’re going to move into location overview? This report will go a little bit quicker. How do you get there again in that left-hand, sidebar you’re, going to go audience geo, location and further dimensions, and when you get to that report – and actually maybe I’ll, show you quickly when you get to this report, so just nigga audience geo-location you’ve got all these Different dimension, drill, downs, so country city continent stop continent, and so you can determine what’s best for you now being in cleaning businesses.
The reason we want to do this is we want to find out what city people are accessing your site from. If you will only serve in one city or one state or one province, because I’m Canadian, we want to make sure that we don’t have too much traffic coming outside of our region um. I suppose it’s totally fine if chocolate is reaching you from another region, but we want to make sure that we’re not spending a lot of time or money to acquire that traffic.
So, just knowing that you’re you’re reaching your target market in your target city is very important. Another thing that we can learn here are our offline efforts, driving users to our site, so an example that we use sometimes with Jabra we visit trade shows and the trade shows are not in our home office. We like to see if there is a spike during the time of the trade show out of particular in a particular location on when we are at the trade show just to see if people are engaging with us and that helps determine if the trade show is Valuable for us to be a part of, and again this all comes back to not just putting numbers on a page, but it comes back to making decisions, owning your marketing decisions and cost and all of those sorts of things.
So. Lastly, her the action items and questions we want to leave with should any of our targeting efforts, be changed or altered to more effectively reach the correct audience. So again, this is a sort of thing. Let’s say: you’ve got something going up in the newsletter and you’re told that it covers one city keep an eye on this location overview. Do you receive a traffic spike when that newsletter goes out or that advertisement? That newspaper goes out? If you do great, then you know starts a segment.
Where is that traffic coming from? If it’s in your ideal target market perfect, maybe it’s something we can run again. You can see the conversion rate I if it’s not, and if all the traffic that is being driven is in the wrong target market. You know too, probably not invest in that form of advertising again, so we’re going to go on to the fourth report. This is maybe my favorite report, which is a really nerdy by mistake, but I’m a data guy, so I’m allowed to be very occasional again.
How do you get there? Everything is going to be in that left-hand sidebar when you’re in analytics you’re, going to click, behavior, site content and landing pages. I’ve glued up the landing page just for the data, I’m using again a friend’s website and want to be respectful of his data. So I put the job or green right there, but what a landing page is – or at least what Google Analytics defines a landing page has – is the first entrance to your website.
So you know we I like to use analogies about the website, be near your store. It’s your place to make a first impression, and you know to look at this report. We see this top one, which is the home page, gets all of these sessions these. This is the first page somebody sees when they land on your website, but these are all the other pages that people have been landing on as the first point of contact to the website.
So if we go back to the store analogy, we’ve got one front door, but, unlike a brick-and-mortar store, a strip mall or you know, on the street, you’ve got an infinite potential for side, doors and those side, doors and those side. Entrances are just as important, potentially as your main door, and they provide customers with a first impression, and so this report allows us to see how people are finding you, what their first impression is.
So what we really want to learn is what is the first impression we are presenting to site visitors? What entrances are bouncing and i’ll talk about bounce rate in a second and what pages are driving more conversions are underperforming on the conversion dry. So with this set of data, I am not too concerned because you know: we’ve got 1100 out of 1400 sessions came through the homepage, so it’s really.
We want to make sure that our homepage is providing a really good first impression, but let’s say that this second page wasn’t 97. Let’s say it was something closer to 600 and we weren’t aware of that. It wasn’t designed to be an entrance page, but all of a sudden lots of people are coming through this entrance page, it’s great to be aware of, because then we can look at the messaging on that page and is that messaging geared to somebody who is entering Your store or getting to know your business for the very first time.
That’s not to say you should redesign every page on your website to talk to somebody as if they’re seeing your site for the first time, but you just want to be cognizant of that. I provide a little bit of context if this is a service page, for example, don’t just jump into and being a little silly with this example, but don’t just jump into our services are and then just lift list them out provide a bit of context.
Birds, cleaning service provides, you know, x, services in the edmonton area and then go into some more detail. So it just provides that a nice bit of context. So we really want to manage that first impression for those visitors or for those pages that are seen a lot of visitors again for this data. It’s not a great example but check your in Google Analytics data and it can help you make some decisions.
Another thing we want to learn is what entrances are bouncing site visitors, so bounce rate is defined as any visitor or any session. I should say that enters a page on your website and then leaves without doing coming. They could be on a page 43 minutes, but then they could just leave and that’s considered a bounce. So it’s a bit of an imperfect metric, but I think it’s really valuable when you’re looking at your landing pages, because we don’t want people to leave right away, we want them going on to a second page or a third page.
So you can look at these bounce rates and start to say: okay, we want to lower our bounce rate. We want to provide that good first impression. How can we do this and you look at your high bounce rates and you’re able to make strategic changes based on that, so this one this one obviously shouts out. We’ve got a 76 percent bounce rate right here, um for this, I’m not too worried about it, because it’s such a small sample of data – that’s bouncing, but let’s say there were 600 entrances here.
Seventy-Six percent bouncing is a big issue and something we would want it correct. The last thing I’ll go into with these landing pages, is: let’s look at the email, signup conversion rates and figure out how to drive these up. So again, this fourth page is doing a pretty poor job. You know more than three-quarters of the people that are seeing this page for the first time are leaving right away and nobody has signed up for an email or filled out a form or whatever our goal will be.
So that’s where this report is really great. So what do we want to do from here? We want to update our underperforming entrance pages again we’re defining our underperforming pages by a high bounce rate by a poor conversion rate, and then we want to look at the high interest pages and make sure they are the living delivering the correct or a good. First impression, the last last report I’m going to go through is a little bit of an advanced report and that its search engine query.
So there is a little bit of setup required on this report. You need to hook up your google webmaster tools account to your Google Analytics account, but I find this report once you do. That is very valuable. If that all sounds overwhelming, the idea of hooking up a Google Webmaster account to your Google Analytics account. I it is something that your your web person should be able to help you with, but there’s also some really great documentation.
Online google has a great documentation that can walk you through this step-by-step. So what do we want to learn from here are actually i’m just going to back up really quickly and talk about this, for what we want to learn. I’ve blocked out these search queries. So this is what people are typing into the search engine to find your site, so whether it be edmonton cleaning, business or Barrett’s cleaning business.
This is what people are typing internet search engine impressions is the number of time within your given time period. Whatever that has selected in Google Analytics impressions is the number of times that somebody has seen that on their screen. Clicks is the total number of clicks to your website. Position is how its ranking on the search engine and click-through rate is the percentage of people that are clicking through your display on the search engine results page.
So what do we want to learn? We want to know what search queries are driving traffic to our site. What search queries that we expect to see on this report that are not driving to our site and what pages are ranking well, but have a low click-through rate. So you know what queries are driving traffic to our site. We expect to see our branded term, but not not just our branded term, some more generic terms.
So I’m coming back to the example of barrett’s cleaning service. As my company and I do business in Edmonton, we want to see some more generic things like Edmonton cleaning services, residential cleaning services in Edmonton. We want to see some of those queries in this report and, if we’re not seeing those – and this goes back to that second report – we looked at both the traffic acquisition sources.
We know these are things that we can work on. We can write content on our website for this. We can talk to our SEO person or a marketing person, develop content. Maybe there’s some technical SEO things that are an issue, so we want to. We want to fix that. What search queries do we expect to see? I just covered up come on this report that are not driving traffic to our site and then this one I find really interesting.
What pages are ranking well but have a low click-through rate. So something like this guy here, it’s ranking on the first page of Google. It’s in the seven on average, in between the seventh and eighth position, and it’s got a lesson. One percent click-through rate: these clip your rates up here quite high. Those are mostly brand into terms, but this guy right here – and even you know this one in the fourth position on this table.
It’s ranked really high, but the click-through rate well below the average of these other three. So what can we do here and i’ll just show you an example. If we go to back to google, we want to make sure that this title and this description are looking really good. If we’re ranking well, that’s great, but that’s only half of the puzzle. We want to make sure that whatever our copy is right here is encouraging people to click through so um.
You know I’m just trying to do like this is one and I don’t think this persons on the call. That would be a quite the coincidence, but I don’t wan na pick on this person, but it says best house cleaning service services with the edmonton sherwood park. I live in the area, so I know its sherwood park. That’s an ok title, but then it starts to get looking for cleaning services in your area. There’s dot, dot, dot, read our blog posts.
You know what services are in the area. Is there anything you can do to clean this up? We don’t want to see these different dot dot dots. Instead, we want to see well form sentences and you can talk to your your SEO person and they can help you write really good descriptions. Make sure that things are looking really good. Things aren’t cut off, even let’s just see if I wanted to do residential cleaning services.
Edmonton super some other examples here. Cleaning services edmonton mulling made like this is a great example of one everything’s one clean sentence: nothing’s getting cut off. I know exactly what to expect when I click on it and then, when I click on it, I should be happy with whatever is even on the page, so we’ll go back here. Should there’s just one more bullet point about our action items? We want to update on how our pages are displayed on search engines.
That’s a bit of a typo update our how updating our pages are displayed on search engines and then we want to use these queries as inspiration for new content. Are there any queries where your ranking 15, for maybe we should write new pages and more developed content? So you can get onto the first page of Google. Is there anything that’s missing here? If so, we want to write content right service content so that you are displaying on google.
It is a bit of a long-term strategy. Everything that search engine optimization is, but this Analytics report will get you get. You started and get down the right path. So I am I doing for time. I think I’m doing. Okay, 140 we’re at 3.6 or 46 minutes n, so you’re good, perfect! Well, that’s! I went a little longer than I was anticipating, but that wraps up our five analytics reports and I left a few minutes if you’ve got questions about jobber.
If you have questions about analytics or even just anything, really digital strategy, I always loved nerding out on this stuff, so happy to answer any questions that may have popped up. Give everybody on the call a few minutes if they would like to join the call and, if not, which is totally fine. I think I have a question hand rise from Catherine Douglas. Oh okay, so your question came through your number.
One keyword is not provided so that that’s a great question, so actually I’m going to go into this now, unfortunately, there’s no data, but hopefully I can. I cancel yeah. So will yours when you’re not provided information, you’re going to go you’re, seeing acquisition all traffic blogs, which is that second report we looked at and then, when you click on organic search, so i’ll just quickly show you what this report would look like when you click On organic search, it’s going to bring up a list of all your keywords that are driving traffic to your site.
This is a different report and, to be totally honest, I’m a little confused about the ins in the outs of it, but basically Google has stopped giving us all that keyword data in analytics in that report, so how you want to access. Your keywords is by going through this guy, so it’s um, I’m sorry! I didn’t update this, so this is incorrect. I will update this before. I send it off, so you are going to have to go into acquisition, search, engine search, engine, optimization and then queries and when you click queries, this is again a dummy account.
You have to set up the webmaster tools, data sharing, but it’s actually a really simple prod process, especially for you know, if you’ve got a webmaster there, somebody who manages your website, it’s really just a couple snippets of code that Google provides to you that he just Put in the butter of your site and then you’ll get that so. Unfortunately, Google has made a trickier that not provided I came in in the last three years and basically will logged into google and do a search query.
So if you logged into gmail or google plus that data is not shared in analytics, so hopefully that answers your question, it’s kind of a bad answer. I wish it was easier, but you’re just going to have to use this search engine queries report. So we’ll give you a few more seconds to raise your hand and then I will just say: I’m sounding a little bit like a broken record, but I will be sending out an email on later today or tomorrow.
I’ll send you a link to Java. So you can check it out, we’re really proud of our software and we found it’s really good for for companies like cleaning service businesses on little things like batch invoicing. So if you’ve got clients that you visit every week – and you have to do you know a couple hours of invoicing and every week because you’ve got all these reoccurring. Invoices we’ve got a great batch invoicing tool.
So you know that two hours of invoicing is really done in the click of a button. So so it’s a pretty great time saving measure something we’re super proud of so I’ll. Send that out, it’ll have a link or it will include a download of this deck. So you can review that I’m happy to answer any questions about analytics or jobber. So I’ll include that in the email and Austin. If there’s no more questions, I’m happy to to end the webinar
You have all of these story, ideas bursting from your brain, but the moment that you sit down to actually write them. They’re gone well: I’m here, to give you the secrets of becoming a writer permanently ready secret is to write, mind blown sit down at your laptop, put your hands on the keyboard and make words happen. You’ll never get any better at the things you want to do.
Unless you do them MOG blow again last year I decided I wanted to start painting. I have never before in my life painted unless you count those finger paintings. I did as a kid, but I went to YouTube. I started reading some how-to articles and I just did it first painting and after a year of practice painting, but anyway, the point isn’t to show off. My paintings point is to show you that if you keep working at something, you will improve, I’m going to show you four different ways to get yourself writing when you don’t know what to write about or don’t feel like writing find writing prompts.
Writing. Props are super fun. You can go to Pinterest and pull up tons and tons of them and what they are. If you don’t know, it’s just a random sentence or a way to start a story like what. If aliens took over the planet, that was actually a pretty terrible. One got some examples here. Like this one says you find a stack of missing-persons news clippings under your parents bed all with your photos on them, so this would be a great kind of like mystery.
Thriller story where, apparently, these parents aren’t actually their parent, this kid’s parents and they have actually been kidnapped when they were a child. So this would probably be like all about their search for their real parents, maybe trying to escape these fake parents. She added a charm to her bracelet for every life that she took. That sounds like a cool story. It sounds like some dystopian story where the protagonist either is forced to do this by the government that has created her to be like this killer or maybe she’s doing it as a way to fight back at the government sometimes prompts we’ll start out with a line Of dialogue like this one is a quick exchange between two characters.
It says I never stood a chance. Did I that’s the sad part once you did. This sounds like a romance to me. Sounds like one character was really trying to be with the other, but there’s something that they did to just mess. Everything up. You could either write something back in time, going back to what they actually did to mess everything up and what they actually did to have. A chance – or you could move forward from that conversation and have character a try to convince character B that they really should be together and the last prompt is well.
This is a nice change of scenery. It’s a prison cell. I was being sarcastic, so this sounds like some troublemakers to me. This could be fantasy or dystopian, where the two characters are constantly getting into trouble or perhaps character a is always getting in trouble and dragging character B into it, since he sounds a little annoyed at being in a prison cell yeah, you see how fun these prompts.
Can be and how useful they’d be in getting some ideas flowing yeah they’re super fun number, two, your own ideas. Maybe you already have some great ideas for a story and you don’t really need any prompts, but you feel like your idea, is just too big for you to get started on you’re, not sure where to start, and if you don’t know much about your story, go Ahead and write it down, it may not seem like real writing, but this is getting you used to writing down your ideas.
It’s getting you used to creating characters, worlds, conflicts and you might be surprised at what you come up with once. You start writing. If all you do is, for a couple of weeks or months to just write down story, ideas and kind of hash, the mountain and add characters and add to the world, if you’re writing a fantasy and you’re doing a lot of world building like. If that’s all you do, that is still practicing, your writing, don’t feel like you’re, cheating or that you’re not doing real writing just because you’re writing down ideas, even if you don’t actually turn this idea into a story, yet it’s good to have it down.
So that way, you can go back to it later. The story that I wrote the hash’no stone that is now a book actually sat in a folder for about a year before I went back to it and started working on it. Sometimes a story is too big for you to do right now, and you just need a little bit of time to grow a little bit of time to practice. Writing and eventually you’ll go back to it and be able to turn it into a full-sized book or short story or whatever it is that you’re planning on doing by three start a blog.
This is what I did. I did not start really taking my writing seriously until I started the blog because it kind of forces you to write because you have an audience now that is expecting post every week or every month. However, often you decide to post and not only is it a great motivator, but it’s a great way to meet other writers. I definitely would not have made it as far as I have, if it weren’t for my blog community, your wanting to connect with other writers or your wanting a little bit of an extra push.
A little bit of motivation to keep writing regularly. Starting a blog is a great way to do that and don’t feel like you have to make it this huge thing, really professional. Like just start small start with one post every week, or if that’s too much for you one post every other week, just it really gets you used to writing consistently last one is flash fiction. Flash fiction is a story that takes place in 500, words or less.
Although I have seen people do it in about a thousand words, mine tend to be about a thousand words. This is great if you’re feeling overwhelmed with putting an entire story together and chapters together, it’s just too overwhelming. Don’t because you can write an entire story in 500 words, this is a great way to build confidence in your writing, and this one kind of ties back to starting a blog and also to the writing prompts so you can use the writing prompts to come up With ideas to write the flash fiction pieces and then you can post them to your blog, which is what I did a lot when I first started blogging.
So whether you decide to start a blog or you decide to just write for yourself or if you use your own ideas or story prompts whatever you decided to do, the most important thing is to make it a habit. Just stick with it. I see a lot of times. Writer advice is to write every single day and some people put a time limit to it. Like you have to write an hour a day, you have to write several hours a day, but when you’re first starting, don’t worry about all that make it a habit that you can stick with, and probably the most important thing to remember is to have fun.
Try different genres try different things with your characters. If you want to just write a page of dialogue, go for it this stage, it’s all about just writing and seeing where it takes. You so get off this article and go right.
Coms and then there’s also like.Wtf so WTF. What’s the difference, You can think of a domain name like having an online Piece of real estate: Why does it cost no ( beeping )? Why does this cost so much? Have you ever thought? About buying a domain and then notice some Of them cost a dollar and some of them cost a lot more And you wondered: why is that Well you’re? In luck, We’re going to talk about That, today and more And today I’m super excited to be joined with my co-host Justin Nealey.
What’s up What up, How you doing Good to see you again Phenomenal glad to be here, So I know you got a Lot of questions for me and I’ll, let you just lay’em on me So, first and foremost, I think about cost, and why is it there’s such a range? I noticed that recently, You know something. Maybe A dollar to thousands like: why is there this range when it comes to costs for a domain? There are a lot of Potential reasons why So if nobody owns the domain name yet you can get a domain like a.
Com anywhere from like a dollar to about 20 dollars just depending and then, if somebody owns the domain name, which that’s those thousand Dollars that you see they’re essentially reselling it, You can think of a domain name like having an online piece of real estate right. That’s a good way to look at it. So they’re selling that off and they’re selling off that name, that’s been around for a While that’s super unique and that could potentially Give you business just by having that domain, Okay and then another thing I noticed.
I was so excited to talk with you, so I started just researching all this. I notice there’s.Coms and then there’s also Like.Coffee or.Wtf so WTF, what’s the difference, ( laughing ) Like why are there these differences There? So when the internet first began, we had just a couple different variations like the.Com net. Info things like that, Those are just TLDs or Top Level Domains, and then we have what’s called CCTLDs, which are Country Code, Top Level Domains.
That’s like a.Co.Uk or.Au for Australia, which really have a localized presence And then those new ones that just released not too long ago and there’s a lot more Releasing as we speak, those are GTLDs Generic Top Level Domains, that’s the.Coffee.Wiki.Ninja.Guru.Wtf.Singles, there’s a plethora of names and it was really established because all the good.Coms Are being taken right? Which is where that online Real estate comes in,’cause.
If you have a Great.Com domain name, you could sell it for Thousands of dollars, So you want it to be short and sweet, though right Absolutely. It goes back to radio test. If you got that 10. Second, Ad spot on the radio – and that’s all you could really convey – is that domain name? Is it catchy and would Someone remember it: Is it easy to spell If you have crazy cool spellings with a K for the krazy, it may not work and same thing goes with word of mouth.
If you can’t tell me what your Domain name is really quick and I can’t go back and Find you super quick, it’s not going to work out, But I imagine that’s hard. At this point in the game, there’s so many domain names Right Like how I imagine it’s pushing us to the longer domain names and lengths, because There’s so many out there Yeah in a way I mean some things to avoid: With your domain name, you wan na make sure that You don’t have hyphens,’cause, that’s just annoying.
Why, Like cool, go to my website, it’s this dash awesome! Dash website dash com – Oh okay, Dash all the dashes right, Yeah Or it having numbers in it like. If I tell you to go, To go to 1coffeeshop.Com, you might type in o-n-e or the number one Oh versus the numeral Or w-o-n. Potentially it gets confusing Yeah Right And attention spans They’re, just getting shorter Right millennials can attest ( laughing ) So with your domain name, those ones that are super short and sweet, they’re brandable They’re, for the most part worth what the cost is, So those couple thousand dollars.
It’s really an investment In your business, and especially if it’s your business name, that.Com was taken, it might be a good idea to Spend a little bit of cash and make sure you get that As we’re taking about domain names. I started to think well, where do I? Where do I go to get this? Where do I go purchase a domain name? Well glad you asked No, So you can go to Any domain registrar like GoDaddy is a domain registrar, which means you can go and Purchase your domain name So, but with domain names you don’t just purchase it once and done.
You actually have to Essentially, lease the domain – It’s still yours, but you Have to renew it every year Now most domains, you buy anywhere from one year to 10 years, but there are some domains. With some restrictions, So you really wan na Check out those options, Wait, why would that be? How come it’s not just Consistent across the board So to kinda go a little bit deeper. There are registrants, Registrars and registries Us purchasing a domain Name, we’re registrants Then registrars like GoDaddy.
They basically are a Vendor supplying domains – and we have registries Which control a.Com So Verisign controls.Com? Then you have other registries that control different domains. There’s that Donuts registry that controls a lot of The new unique ones and they set their own rules so we’re pretty much at Their mercy, if you will Right Okay, so I have another question for you and that is how do you Protect your domain name, I mean: do you need to go and put yourself on the.
Net, the.Com In order to protect it Right, it’s really Protecting your brand, If you just blow up and become this big success, Like I hope you will you wan na get the alternate Endings, the next best That way people aren’t trying To just steal your traffic, or potentially your competitors, Getting that domain name, I’ve seen it happen, they’ll get the.Net and steal your traffic Steal your attention and potentially slander you Cruel It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, It’s pretty rough, no pun intended And what you can do most registrars like GoDaddy, has an Extra value added service to protect your registrations so it’ll protect it from hijacking protect it.
If you forget To renew your domain, That happens all the time, especially if you buy It for five years out Are you going to remember in five years, Sometimes not credit cards expire. So there’s that added Protection that you can get just to make sure that your Domain is always yours, Alright, that’s a wrap. First, I wan na give a huge shout-out and a thank you to Justin Thanks for having me The king of domains.
If you want more info like that, and you have questions Definitely comment below and be sure to subscribe to. Our blog Thanks see you soon.
So, who is this article for this article is for anybody that wants to be an entrepreneur and start a business online so that other people can see that product that you have to give it’s all it can be for new businesses.
Maybe you’ve never done anything or maybe you’re already established. Maybe you already have an established business on your Facebook, blog or Facebook group, or maybe on Instagram and you’re ready to do something different. This is for you one more thing. I it’s only for people who want to take it seriously if you just want to play around you’re, not really sure you can’t come on here and make a article here and there and think it’s going to take off.
So, if you’re ready to make a commitment and you’re ready to really provide some content to grow your business, then you’re in the right place. Let me ask you a question: what, if you could get thousands or millions of people in front of your business? What would that do for your business, thousands or millions? You can do that on YouTube. You have seen some blogs that have literally 1 2 million followers.
Now imagine getting your content out there and have that many people reading you and seeing the content that you’re providing that has to go with your business. It is a numbers game if you’ve already been around. You know that so the more people, the more traffic that you have, the more people that have their eyes on you, the more growth that you’ll have and the more chances that you will have and being successful and selling through your blog, and that happens through the Links below we’re not going to talk exactly how to monetize YouTube in this one, but I’m going to tell you why you want to use YouTube to grow your business now before we start, I wouldn’t tell you explain to you how YouTube is different than other forms Of marketing, basically there’s two forms of marketing: one is called interrupt, based marketing, and then you have search based, think of interrupt based when you are reading TV and you’re reading your favorite show and then all of a sudden all these commercials come flying at you.
Ok and you’re, like I didn’t ask for that, I don’t really care about Gillette. I don’t shave my beard and I don’t really care, but there’s all kinds of commercials popping on. I didn’t ask for them to be there. They were there. They were interrupting. What I was doing it happens on Facebook, it happens in Instagram, you’re scrolling down going through your newsfeed and Facebook and all of a sudden, all these commercials and ads or ads are popping up, and you didn’t ask for those, and you probably prefer them not to Be there and isn’t it uncanny how they’re usually ads the things that you’ve been searching for, so there is no privacy on Facebook or online if you hadn’t known that, so how is YouTube different? Well, YouTube people are searching for you, they’re saying you know what I want to learn more about health, and fitness and vanessa has a blog she’s, providing recipes every day that that are healthy and nutritious, and I want to follow her and that’s what how people find You they come to you, you don’t come to them.
Now, it’s a little bit more complicated than that. You have to have certain ste search words and things like that. So write this down, that you want to do a little bit of cert research and search engine. Optimization but for today we’re not going to talk in detail about that, but that you definitely need to know a few things like that. But let’s just talk about why you want to be on this platform, all right so number one is: it will help your business grow.
I mean it’s that simple, but you have to be very consistent when you start making YouTube articles you want to make them on a consistent basis and honestly, in the beginning, the more you make the better because you’re just telling YouTube that you know I’m really serious About growing my blog and if you do want a week in the beginning, it’s just going to take that much longer for them to see that you’re serious, because if you did one a week in a year, that’s only 52.
If you do one every day in a year, that’s 365, you have to decide what your goal is. My personal goal has been to make 400 articles in a row and then I’m going to back it down, but I want YouTube to see that I am serious about growing my business and that has been my goal and I think I’m pushing 200 something. As of this article, but I still have a ways to go, but that’s my goal and I know I need to be consistent.
You also need to learn about engine optimization. You might say I’ve got this really good idea about making articles. Maybe you want to teach people how to paint. I would think that would be a good article or a good series, but I don’t know I don’t paint I’m not in that field, but maybe you want to start selling art lessons or something in a digital course, and so your articles have to do with tips And things about art, but maybe there aren’t a lot of people out there that want to learn that and maybe you’re finding that that’s not something that that’s going to be popular.
There are ways: there’s software out there, there’s tools out there that will help. You take your idea and research it and, before you start making articles and building a business from the ground up make sure it’s something that people are searching for. That’s the secret. You don’t tell people what they want, they tell you what they want and then you go. Ah lots of people want to learn how to train dogs.
I’r going to start making articles about that because that’s something that’s being searched. Okay and then maybe you’ll start a Shopify store, selling dog equipment, bowls and leashes, and things like that. Those are just ideas, I’m throwing out there and you want to provide content. Okay, when you’re making the articles you’re just not making willy-nilly different articles, they all have to be cohesive and about the niche that you’ve chosen all right.
So you’re letting YouTube know that you’re, serious and once YouTube knows that you’re serious. They will reward you they want. You to be successful because they can start putting ads on your articles once you’re able to monetize. There are certain mile markers you have to meet before you can monetize anymore and I’m not going to share those because I’m sure they’ll change over time. But if you can monetize and you’re providing content, then you’re providing YouTube a platform where they can put ads it’s a win-win situation for everybody, all right number: two: why do you want to use YouTube? It builds trust with your audience.
If they see you and see your face every single day or four times a week, they get to know you. You know yourself how many stars or people do you read on TV or do you read on YouTube and you feel like you know them, because you get to see them all the time, so you building trust and you’re there consistently in front of them. Now you might say: well, okay, I’m sold I’m going to do it, but I’m afraid I’m really afraid of making a article.
I’r afraid I’m going to look stupid. I don’t know how to do it, everybody’s afraid. In the beginning, everybody, we probably all look kind of silly in the beginning, because we’re not really sure what we’re doing and, as the time goes on, you just keep getting better and better and better. And I think the neat thing is about having your sucky articles. In the beginning is eventually I’ve seen people do it that have been around for 10 years and they’ll go and you look at them and you go man they’re out there on the stage and all kinds of things and then they’ll show you a article of when They first start and you’re like oh my gosh, I’m not that bad.
So just know everybody starts from nothing. My first article I made I made it on Facebook. I was scared to death and what I did just to practice get in front of the camera, and you might do this at first maybe get on Facebook, and I did a how-to article cuz. It’s easy to show people how to do something that you already know how to do and what I did actually now that I look back. It was really fun, but I did a how-to article on how to make fire starters and what we do is we take egg cartons.
We fill them up with sawdust my husband’s in construction, and then you melt wax my mom loves to go to yard sale. She, and I said just go, find me some old candles, so that’s one of her little things that she does and I just melt them down, and I did it right there on the article and I was surprised how many people enjoyed it and I had a Lot of views now that wasn’t so bad, but then I was in a group a course that I was taken and one of the challenges was to be personal.
To share a personal story. Well, I thought I was going to die sharing the story because it’s just when you have to start talking about yourself. It is a little bit different and my heart was racing out of my chest. I had everything written down word for word. Actually, I had it right on my computer and what I do now is just make bullet points, because I don’t want you to see me reading. That’s not what this is all about, but in that particular day that it was my first time I had everything written down, I’m sitting there scrolling and reading and before I sat down I’m just going to be honest with you, I had to go.
Take a drink, a shot of whiskey i-i. Don’t typically do that very often, but I was like I think it was like two o’clock in the afternoon, but I was like oh my gosh and, and I I just I could not get through it, but once I did it, this is the key once I Did it – and I saw that nobody sent me bad things, a lot of my friends who loved me. You know they’re going to say everything. Nice anyway said you did such a great job and the funny thing that happened.
I started doing articles after that and again it just became easier and easier and easier, and it’s funny my mother’s in her 80s and she has a cell phone, and you know how, when you read one article from someone, if you don’t know how to get out Of that article off that person’s page, every article they make will keep coming up. Well, I think about this time I had made that role and they’re on Facebook.
My mom calls me she goes. I had my phone on today and you just kept popping up one after another. She goes all day long and I’m thinking, oh, my gosh, so my I think it’s kind of funny, so my mother became my best fan, so it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and you know what people love you they love you just the Way they are, and and if somebody’s going to be mean and tell you you suck, then you don’t really need them to be your friend.
After all, do you so it just keeps getting better. It really does, and it just keeps getting easier and and today you’re reading this and two years from now, you’re going to go man that article is bad, so it just you just keep getting better. It’s like anything that you do another thing number three: why do you need to put your business on YouTube? Is you can build your fanbase you’re, actually building numbers you want to get hundreds and hundreds of thousands.
I am have an influencer that I follow and I’m saying just less than a year ago I was following her and she was around oh, my gosh, maybe three hundred thousand followers and already she’s up to like a million. I mean it just it just tripled and she said the funny thing is once you get a momentum going you you just keep getting more and more subscribers in the beginning, it is like pulling teeth. It’s really hard because you’re brand new, nobody knows who you are YouTube is reading.
They want to make sure you’re serious, so they’re not going to throw to you out there too much. So it takes time in the beginning, but once you build that fanbase people will start clicking your links down there in the description. That’s where sales happen down in there or you take them to a landing page in those descriptions or you’re, giving them free things to get their email address. So there’s a whole process, like I said through there, okay, so number four.
I want to emphasize to you that making a YouTube blog and providing content in your youtubes, nothing bad is going to happen. There isn’t anything bad that can happen. Think about it. Usually, when I start out on a new endeavor, I always think. What’s the worst thing, that’s going to happen, I do that. Even I remember when I was younger. Even if I was going to speak, I would think. Okay, what’s the worst thing, that’s going to happen well, you’re going to get a ticket and I’d say: okay, I’m willing to pay a ticket cuz, I’m really not hurry to get to where I’m going and I’m willing to pay the price.
So with YouTube, though, there is no price to pay. The only thing you’re going to lose is some time but you’ve in that time. This is the thing you’re not really losing anything, because your communication skills will get better. Even if you stop the blog and you decide this isn’t for you, you have grown as a person you’re better in front of an audience. You have better communication skills, you’ve learned how to make articles, and maybe you started getting fancy and adding things in there.
So you’re only going to get better, there’s, nothing, bad, that’s going to happen and the process of making a article is actually simple, but the longevity of it is hard. So I want to explain that in this way, what if you were to run a marathon running step by step right is not hard. It’s a simple process just to run now, whether or not your body can last very long. That’s different same thing with the article.
It’s not hard to make a article. I actually have a little camera on my laptop. I think I paid $ 60 for it, I’m not using the internal camera because it wasn’t that good of quality, and I have a microphone that I bought Yeti. So there you go, I think that was a hundred, so maybe one hundred and fifty dollars. I have two pieces of equipment and that’s it a lot of people just use their their phone. I don’t have a high quality phone.
I have an iPhone, but I’ve got an older one, but there are times that I’ve used it. I might be outside or something and I’ll just do a article like that. But the point is that part’s easy, that’s the easy part. The process what’s hard is the persistence and the consistent consistency and hanging in there. There are days that you might say why am I doing this? There’s I’m not getting that many subscribers, I’m I’m not getting that many views.
I just want to sit down and cry. I mean there’s days that you feel like that, like you, you feel like it’s um, just no results and that’s where a lot of people will quit and that’s why you don’t see that many people that are successful, because when you start doing it you’ll see it’s. It’s time, there’s things that you have to do to build your business. You’ve got to build that foundation, especially in passive income.
You’ve got to put those systems in place. That will be there forever. That can keep making you money, and one of them is articles. Youtube articles are evergreen, they never disappear. So that’s a little tag in there for passive income. They don’t go away. I could make a article ten years ago and if, if the right keywords are in there and somebody searches for and it pops up, then it’s still there where, if you’re on Facebook or Instagram they disappear, they’re gone.
So that’s the difference there forever or gone okay. So those are the reasons that you want to stick with YouTube. And again I want to emphasize to you that’s staying consistent with your content and with your articles is what helps your success YouTube wants you to be successful because YouTube benefits. Remember YouTube is selling ads to people. You know there’s little ads that you always want to skip at the beginning of the article.
Even if somebody just clicks it they get money for that and it probably not a lot. I’r not monetized. Yet I will be, but they the longer people read those articles, they get more money and and people get very strategic and where they put those ads those little article ads and they the a person advertised benefits because they get to put their ad in front of Millions of people, if you have a huge audience, YouTube benefits because they’re getting that money and you’re providing the platform they don’t have to even provide one and all the people out there, making articles and blogs that’s where they put those ads.
So that’s a win-win-win situation and you get a little bit of money from YouTube for monetizing, so everybody wins, but you have to let YouTube know that you’re serious and by being consistent and sticking it out and providing that content lets them know. So what I suggest for you is get started on your blog. I have this in a article, a series, YouTube growth and I will continue to put YouTube articles articles in there that will help you with your growth, so be sure to click that link and again, if there’s not a lot in there, when you click it just Go back and keep looking because I will consistently keep putting articles in the playlist until then I’ll see you on the next article and thank you for reading.
Give me a thumbs up if this was helpful or if you have any questions. Ask because that’s what I’m here for I’m more than happy to help you

If so, please feel free to smash their like button smash. I do that often, and it’s really awkward marish, but nonetheless, don’t forget to hit that like button, because it really helps the algorithm helps me grow.
My massive YouTube following that I don’t have, but otherwise I’ll see you in the next article
However, I want to make sure I only pick sites that I know for a fact that you guys can use if you don’t use them already, so I hope you guys do it in this article.
All the stuff you guys see in the article will be in description down below now, with a few more of the things I want to put in that I couldn’t fit in the article, but if you guys have any really cool things that are like not in The article here today or in the description please let me know what kind of like resources or it’s like haha, I’m resources, influenced and kind of, like just literally anything that will just help motivate some people in design and help them out and any way possible.
So let me know what I probably putting calm or dead, because I don’t think what YouTube will show it so love you guys along love. You guys hope you enjoyed today’s article and I funny guys see: let’s do it. Alright, oh man, so the first site that show up a lot of you guys is called remove dot, BG, remove dot, BG’s a super easy source for you guys to help cut out backgrounds and have focal points such as for a lot of people.
That’s cutting out people so for a lot of designers, the usual select object or even the new object, select that came out recently and then you see like layer, masks and brushes to fix the cutouts, a super great option or the case of using a pen tool To come out an image, or even like you’re, using a quick selection tool and letting the shortcut Q on the keyboard for a quick mask mode and then kind of coloring around where you want to fix the mask.
Even though those options are super easy and Bible. For most designers out, there there’s also a few designers out there who just still do not know how to cut things out properly and that’s pretty much what the site could be used for. It’s a free resource for downloading the low-quality cut out images. However, guys a quick tip you can actually do to get around the low-quality file size that I’ll give you is, you can actually see the actual downloaded file size, you’ll get right below the actual download button.
So all you have to do is take that same exact file, size and put it inside Photoshop. Take your newly cut out image from remove BG and your original image and put them in the same exact document size as you guys just created, then only have to do a select. The thumbnail of the cutout image by this holding ctrl on your keyboard. To get the marquee selection, then you can click back on your original image.
That is not cut out and it’s also way higher quality and let’s use the layer mask chin, just really quickly cut it out. Then you guys can, of course, just grab it and move it back to whatever document size. You actually need to be in and turn up there you go so yeah, I’m saying if you guys are ever having issues with cutting things out, remove diabetes, a super solid spot to go for next site. Friends is a place where I was actually newly introduced for icons.
It’s called the noun project. If you guys are anything like me, and you have two designs, for example like stream packages, and you have those things, those little icons. I would usually have right next to the words like new follower, a new subscriber, even people who are even in like web design. This site offers awesome free icons to use an HD as well, something having a lot of you. Guys can really fall in love with and enjoy, as I use it myself when it came to my actual stream concept, and I thought it just the icons that gave you were just like literally what I was looking for.
One of the really cool things is: you can even rotate flip and like even change the color of the icon before even downloading it. I think it’s a super awesome site to bring light to you for a lot of designers out there. Okay, so this next set is more like a plugin. You still got ta go to the site to actually even get the plugin, but it’s called light shot. A lot of what the screenshot community uses generally is known as Gaia’s.
Oh, however, guys with light shot, you guys see me use it a lot in my articles. In my streams, it’s activated by pressing the screenshot button on your keyboard that pretty much allows you to select any areas like usual screenshot programs would, however, with live shot. You can choose to draw make lines, quick arrow directions, change, color of whatever you’re doing it with and even write text on the actual screenshot itself.
Then, of course, you can upload all those marks that you made very easily the same way with like a cloud upload service that, of course, again a mini screenshot services have. However, when uploading, I mainly use the control C and control the option, of course, copy and paste to simply copy and paste anything. I’d like to just share my friends on my clients. It comes super in handy with drawing on your screen to show corrections to a certain design and you’d like to make, or even just like a note to yourself, one of my favorite ways to do.
It is actually just giving feedback to other designers and just taking screenshots of their projects and kind of like pointing out where I think things can be fixed and tweaked, which is super helpful for a lot of people. A really great program that I think you guys should truly truly truly download, if you guys do not have it already, of course, using the regular print screen and all that good stuff is dope.
But this one for me is probably the most top-tier one when it comes down to it, but honestly, if you, if you’re still using guy hazel bro like nothing against it, but like you know it’s just not like shot alright guys. Next up is something I feel. That’s actually really truly underrated, which is Adobe and Google Fonts sites. First, when talking Adobe fonts, if you guys have a Creative Cloud account, it doesn’t even require you to even download the font.
All you guys have to do is actually just active it through the site and it’ll appear in your Adobe program. The filters on the left side of the page really help those in search for specific fonts for their projects. It even offers a really cool, quick preview text for every single font listed on the actual page simultaneously, something a lot of professionals use across the board, because every font you actually see on Adobe, fonts and google fonts – are all free for personal and commercial use.
So if you’re stuck on looking at places like the font or be hands and trying to figure out where to actually find some new fonts try out adobe and google fonts to get those projects looking right, okay, guys so the last site for this article. Since we talked about the elite prints being program and some fonts something I used to find similar fonts that I love in projects – and I see around the world – is known as what the font.
What the fun has helped me in never having to really ask people. Hey? What is this font? Because it comes in handy to be able to drag a picture I saved with a print screen that shows the actual font to then proceed to a list of all identical fonts. That could be the one that you’re looking for or something at least super super similar granted, most fonts shown from what the font are purchased focused.
You can highlight the font that you would like to get and paste the same exact font name in Google with the word free at the end of it, and you can see if the actual font author has personal use versions or weights available most times through my Searches, I’ve been able to find some really cool free versions of the font that I’ve been looking for and honestly, you won’t have to now go crazy for like what is this font? What is this font? And you know this is one of those things one of those things you guys absolutely should know of, because it does come in handy all, right homies.
That is the end of the article here today. So, as always, if you guys did love the article, please be sure to leave a like, and I would also like to know what kind of websites are using, whether if it’s for like influence a little bit inspiration a little bit of like resources. Anything basically without actually having camera net cuz you’re, probably going to get like deleted from YouTube and since of the comments, so don’t do that.
But just put like the you know: if it’s like you know it feels like B Hanscom be like you know what to be hands. Go check this out. For this reason, I would like to know some new things as well, and of course, I do have other things that I do not mention in today’s article. In the description down below is their links as well, so please be sure to check them all out. As always, guys I’ll talk to guys later, assess ohq out, do not forget to keep smiling stay positive and stay a freakin productive, guys.
There’s a lot of Misunderstanding around backlinks or just links, so let’s talk a little bit. About what a link is, what are the different kinds of links, and how can I Check to see who’s currently linking to me, There are three different kinds of Links there are gold, silver and bronze.
So let’s talk about the difference. Between all three of these links, The first one is the bronze standard, the Bronze standard is when someone’s looking to you and you link to them So It’s it called a “ reciprocal link”. I link to you, you link to me, and we kind of Scratch-Scratch, each other’s backs. That’s fine, but Google’s like “ you’re in Cahoots we see you”, So those are fine but they’re, not really the best they’re.
The Bronze standard, The silver standard is going to be inside of your content on Your website You’re, linking from your source out to another reference So that Could be a word or a study or a stat, And you link to where that stat resides on Another website That’s a silver standard. If you are a professor and expert in Your space, of course, you’re going to cite your sources. That’s what links are all about.
Links are meant to validate the content that You’re, talking about on that page, So make sure that when you’re writing Content that you’re, linking inside of your body copy, That’s considered a Silver standard or when you’re, linking from your website to another site Now Let’s talk about the good stuff: Let’s talk about the gold standard of linking The gold standard of linking is going to be Harvard A.
Edu links, their paper Or some content from their domain to you Now those are going to be pretty hard to Get but.Edu’s are the bomb, So you want to make sure you can get them If you Like maybe you present to a class, maybe you write an article for a newspaper. Maybe you made someone a blog.Edu’s have a Tremendous amount of credibility for Google Because clearly, if you’re, if You’ve got an amazing educational institution and they’re linking to you Then you are an expert in your field, Also any news site, so CNN Forbes any of The big sites that pick up a quote from you pick up a stat There’s a wonderful Website called Haro H-A-R-O.
Com, It’s help a reporter out. I read reporters Who go in there and they’ll say I need to speak to someone on SEO or I need an Seo expert or I need to know how businesses can grow online. I will go Into Haro and I will write a quick note to that reporter and saying here’s like How I can help you Now? This is why this is so. Cool is because, if that reporter Takes my quote, I sent him. I get a backlink from wherever he’s creating Content back to my website.
Remember: that’s the gold standard one-directional From a news, educational site back to your website, I’ll take any link that Comes from a third-party site back to you But don’t reciprocate! Remember I Don’t want Google to think I’m in cahoots. I have a lot of people that are Go in like the last, their cousin and all their uncles and all their clients to Link to them and then they’ll link back, It’s fine, but it’s not good enough.
Really for Google to say “ mmm, that’s good! I could trust that they’re. Clearly an Authority” So be very careful about how you select your links, Let me show you One of my favorite tools – I talk about it, a lot kind of like a broken record here. But I love SEMRush. Now I’ve logged into my account, if you don’t have an SEMRush account, there’s a lot of other backlinks, I’m going to show you a free Backlink audit tool here in a minute, but I want to show you SEMRush first SEMRush – has a tool called Backlinks.
Now the problem is, is when you get all these Links and they’re all being generated, sometimes those links are toxic Kind of A dramatic word for saying “, I didn’t ask for that: link,,” or maybe “. That website is Is participating in deceptive practice,,”, meaning they’re just linking to Everything hoping that hoping they’ll create this book is called a backlink Profile to Google that makes a lot of traffic alert their website.
You may have A lot of links that create overtime that you had no Business in creating – and we want to make sure that we read this, So we want to do What’s called a backlink audit and make sure that we tell Google that if these Are all toxic links? I don’t want to be associated with that. I didn’t endure that endorse that or approve that you need to then tell Google, that you don’t want, you, don’t have nothing to do with these links.
Because those could be affecting your ranking and you’d never know it. So when You come in here you’re, going to run a backlink audit And you’ll see right here. That I have 1,700 links from other sources back to my website. I have a Hundred and ninety-six referring domains, meaning of those 1,700 backlinks they’re Coming from 196 different domains, And of course, then I have recurring IP Addresses Don’t worry about that.
That’s just geek talk, Okay, so then we want to Come down in here We’re going to take a careful look at which ones are Considered toxic and which ones are good Now. What I want you to see here is, as You go down. You’ll, see this a little button right here that says disavow. This Creates a beautiful little Excel spreadsheet, So as you’re looking through Here and you’re, looking at where these are coming from, if I see anything in Here that I’m like “ what?”? Let’s see, let’s see here? Oh no, no! No! No! No! I’r going Through here I see speaking places, I’ve spoken at, let’s see where else I can see.
Here, Lots of printer hub, thank you! So now I see Napa-net.Org. Now you have a Couple things you can click on that link, see where it resides. If you don’t want It then you’re going to hit the plus sign now what this does is. It adds that URL For that one link to an Excel spreadsheet, then it will submit it to Google, on your behalf, So what happens is you’re saying? Look. I am great at what I Do but all these links have shown up over time that I had no business in Creating I don’t want to be associated with those and Google’s like okay, great And you submit this document to Google and that will help to clean up your Backlink profile make sure those gold, silver and bronze links are really Giving you the benefit of lifting your website, So when you do create a piece of Content Google’s like “, they got it going on.
” All These are the people are linking directly to that content and they think It’s amazing So another quick tool to look at it’s not as fancy as SEMRush But it’s free Free is nice. This is a website tool like I found called Ahrefs, ahrefs.Com/backlink-checker and I’ll make sure to put it in the Notes below in the in the description of this article You’re going to come in You’re going to put your domain name you’re going to hit check backlinks, Alright, so What it’s doing is it’s going in there and taking a look now at what are all The pages that I’m ranking for what are the backlinks I’m getting from those Pages and then, of course, referring domains.
This is a wonderful way, just Start looking through these links, If you see any links in here, you’re like what The heck, how did that ever like here’s one called Beauty Store Business? I don’t Know what that is, I don’t know why anyone would link me. But maybe if I go and check it out, so I’m going to click on that. Let’s see where This goes Yeah, so this is clearly a link bait site. A link bait site is where they Put a bunch of links on here and then of course, they’re hoping that Google will See those links and give them credit for it.
I don’t want to be on this website. You’ll see it’s clearly a spam site, So I’m going to go back and then I’m going to Go into my SEMRush and say uh-uh, I don’t want to be associated, I’m going to disavow That link, So I know this is a little geeky post. Your questions in the Comments below or email me, heather @ findability.Com, and we can take a Little bit of a geek deep dive into backlinking, It’s so important when You’re trying to establish trust in a robotic setting in search So remember: gold, silver bronze Stay true to creating content Link out to experts.
And make sure you give them credit and your backlink profile would become a Beautiful example of why people love you and ultimately link to you If you love Nerding out over search engine marketing findability then make sure To ring the bell and subscribe to my YouTube blog, I’m committed to Creating daily content that moves your business forward to become the most Findable business online

He was only 13 years old and was truly a force to be reckoned with. He received his first taste of what 4/9 could do for him and his family, and this Alouette and online duels tournament that had leagues all over the world. South America’s regional tournament was as tough as the rest, but alongside his teammate and coab, member of Sinister’s esports toxic king managed to come in fourth place together.
They walked away with 848 dollars, which doesn’t sound like much when you workout that each player would only make $ 424 when the prize fungus split. But that’s when you’re thinking with the mind of someone living in a first world country, okay, so by all accounts. Argentina is still classified as a developing country and, as this case with almost all developing countries, most of the population of Argentina live in poverty.
On average, the monthly salary for an argentinian household is only around the equivalent of 350 dollars in America. Tiago at the age of 13 had just managed to earn what would be the equivalent of just over a month’s wages for most Argentinian families. It is perhaps no surprise, then, that his family would be supportive and allow him to continue his dream and passion for playing. Four-Night competitively, it didn’t take too long for the boy to reveal that his minor win at the scalawag Cup hadn’t been a one-time occurrence.
He wasn’t just good at the game. He was like really really good and he had what it took to play against some of the biggest 49 names across the planet and week three of the World Cup qualifiers Tiago came forth, earning himself 74 points across the course of the tournament. This allowed him to walk away with his biggest prize yet $ 2,000, but the kid wasn’t done there alongside X alone, he become seventh in the week for duo’s event, then, third, in the week six dealers event and second in the week, seven solos.
It was as if he was slowly climbing up his way up the podium until eventually he reached the peak on week, 10. Once again, alongside exone, he came first place in duels tournament. Securing him a spot and not just the solo event, but the duels finals as well over the course of his qualifiers run. Tiago earned himself 18,000 five hundred dollars, which is a colossal amount of money for any thirteen-year-old, let alone one living in a country where the average salary is so low.
While the World Cup qualifiers were over, Diego had two more tournaments to compete in before the finals themselves. These were the first and second trio cash Cup tournaments that took place online for the South American region. He played in this tournament alongside his long-standing dual partner exone. As well as his other Sinister’s teammate toxic, they play second and both of these tournaments earning the boy.
Another 25,000. Each tournament before the World Cup began. Seattle’s expectations of what might happen were grounded in reality. In an interview with the Argentinean paper, LAN AC on Tiago said that he thought he only had a 10 % chance of claiming victory at the World Cup because he would be playing against some of the best players in the world instead of hoping on a major Payout, he claimed he was hoping to be noticed by a bigger team from another country which would allow him to attend even bigger and better tournaments across the world.
The support of theokoles father and his five brothers never wavered. His dad worked for the Argentine Federal Police and Tolan AC on that he never expected this sort of life for his son. He couldn’t have possibly imagined that this would be the direction his son’s life would take, but he would try his best to accompany him to the tournament, no matter what it took. The big tournament was finally here in the summer of 2019, viago flew to New York for the very first time for his shot to prove that he was the best at for tonight and to help pull out his family out of poverty in the duels finals.
King and exone did not perform as well as they had done in previous tournaments only coming in 39th place. This still meant that they went home with 50,000 each, but it would have been a blow to the confidence of the Argentinian team who still had their solo finals to go the day after if it had knocked his confidence, viago didn’t let his show and put on A performance and the solos finals that would blow the entire world away at the minimum required age for entry, Diago wasn’t on anyone’s radar.
He was just another kid who had locked his way into the World Cup. Diago was there to prove them wrong. He had every right to be at the World Cup as any other older player who had earned their place before King played an aggressive game throughout the World Cup. By the end of the tournament, he had become known as the assassin of gods all because of one single moment the moment he took down the legendary fortnight player himself, T foo when the two players came up against each other in the World Cup, everyone likely expected T foo the long-established four night Pro to take the victory, but T foo hadn’t seemed himself throughout the entire tournament and it didn’t take much for King to take the legend down.
In the encounter T. Foo tried to force King into a box fight, but with the heavy sniper in his inventory, it was simply a matter of blasting away T Fu’s wall, replacing it with his own and then editing in a way from the outside Chifa was caught. He had no answer to the teenagers, simple and clean play and was blown away as a result, but it wasn’t just the battle with T food that got King notice on the big screen throughout the tournament.
The main camera was placed on King and almost every time it happened. King was able to perform Blanding his shots and taking enemy players out with a simple style. And yet you know from time to time a cheeky emo thrown on top King took out many pros over the course of the solos finals to eventually earn him fifth place and take home a prize of nine hundred thousand dollars having likely lived in poverty.
All of his life, the alcohol went back to his father after the game and claimed that this money would help the family and that they wouldn’t have to struggle anymore. In response his father sobbed Toto to you over and over completely taken by the emotion which translates all yours according to the algo, in an interview with the founder of 9z after the World Cup and ended his life didn’t really change much after winning the amount of Money he did at the World Cup.
He still had to get up every day at 7:30 a.M. To go to school, though he did plan to use his money to buy a new house for his family that and many lollipops when he returned to his country. Thiago was greeted by the country’s president, Mauricio Macri, who called him and personally congratulated him by saying he was a national pride after coming fit in the solos tournament weather, and I King shared his World Cup prize money with his family.
One thing is for certain: this wouldn’t be the end of the road, a fortnight’s, youngest pro player. In fact, it was just the beginning. Since the weekend of the four-night World Cup, Thiago seems to have never stopped rindy having taken part in a grand total of 36 tournaments. His level of skill also seems to have improved dramatically after been given the chance to play alongside some of the world’s greatest pros, because not only has the algo been playing in a lot of tournaments he’s been winning them two out of those 36 online tournaments.
He has played since the World Cup. He has placed first and eight of those tournaments, second in three of them, third and two of them, and then in the top 10 of 11 and more. In other words, the Aqua has made a little bit of cash and over half of the tournaments he has played in since the World Cup just proving that he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world if he isn’t considered one already.
All of these victories have allowed the I go to claim yet another and press surprise for someone so young and that’s the Guinness World Book of record for the youngest gamer to earn 1 million dollars in eSports winnings. My goodness, most Pro fortnight play a stream on one of three major stream sites: twitch YouTube or mixer. You won’t find Argentina’s top eSports earner on any event. Instead, he streams on a site known as Nemo TV while started in China.
This online streaming service focuses its attention on the South American market, while it’s unlikely that you’ve heard of the site. You know if you live anywhere else in the world. Viago has already managed to build himself a pretty impressive following on the side boasting over 50,000 followers. You know, while it may have taken the World Cup to bring King into the spotlight, he’s been a member of team since his eSports debut his first team was Sinister’s.
He sports an Argentine organization who supported King throughout the first two months of his career. He was a part of the team up until the fourth week of the World Cup qualifiers and then for some reason, stepped away from the team and may have been because he had been approached by 9z. The second team that king played for they picked him up. Just in time for the world finals and really it seemed like a perfect match, started by the streamer frank caster, to try and expand esports in argentina and latin america.
King would play alongside 9z throughout the rest of 2019 until eventually leaving the team as a free agent in February 2020. The future is open for Thiago King lap, he’s young and his whole eSports career is ahead of him. He’s already proven he has what it takes to play amongst some of the best players on the planet and he’s already pulled his family out of poverty. They’ve been living in it all their lives.
