I know just like you probably know, because you’re clicking on this article, that Instagram has been changing their algorithm time and time again and making it more difficult to grow. I’m going to basically outline for you guys the most legal and best way to grow and to increase your engagement on Instagram.
So, like I said, I’m going to discuss with you guys Instagram engagement, hacks, to grow your Instagram and also how to get real followers and likes fast, and the only way you guys can actually really do. This is by being really engaging on Instagram and actually putting in the time to grow it, because you can’t expect a quick fix solution to where you do nothing and you just become an ultimate sensation.
And if that is your goal, then I don’t know having a successful Instagram is probably not for you unless you’re a celebrity. You just ultimately get the following automatically. If you are just a regular person, that’s trying to grow their business account or personal account. There are some things that you have to do in kind of a schedule of nuances. You should follow an order to get that engagement that you are seeking, and the first thing is.
I know it’s so obvious, but it is the most important thing it is being consistent like I said you have to put in the time, and you have to do it daily, like even a couple times a week, isn’t going to be this enough to grow. You want to show Instagram that you are serious and when they see that they will actually push your Instagram to be seen more. If you do post everyday you’re, more likely to be seen, you’re more likely to hit the Explorer page and Instagram will recognize you as somebody who is serious about their Instagram.
They will be consistent with pushing you, but if you fall off the map for a couple weeks or a month, you’re going to go right back to the bottom and have to rebuild that momentum that you’re getting it’s just like a moving wheel. You know at first it takes like a bit of a push to get it going, but once it’s going it becomes easier and better, and if it stops moving, what happens again, you need to give it that push again.
That’s another thing: that’s super obvious is obviously have really good content. You want, quality photos doesn’t have to be taken, our professional camera. You can take great photos on an iPhone, but just make sure you’re picking photos where you look good or your products look good and it’s just all kind of cohesive and it looks clear and good. You don’t want to post blurry pictures pictures that are just kind of I don’t know structured.
Oddly I mean you know what looks good and what doesn’t think about what you follow and what you like and just make a really good quality content. Another thing like I said unless you’re a celebrity, or you know somebody who is already recognizable and already gets a following just by posting kind of photos of whatever or themselves. However, you kind of want to have a concentration or a topic, and it doesn’t have to be too concrete.
You can still be yourself and you can still be a lifestyle blogger, for instance, but just make sure you’re adding some value, and you have some sort of theme to your page. People are just more likely to follow you if they know what your page is about, and they know what the concentration is and they know females, because maybe they are looking for health tips. They will follow you if you are giving them quality health tips on a daily basis.
Therefore they will tune in daily and be there for you as well. Then another tip is post. Articles too. You don’t want to only post pictures articles actually get pushed really well on Instagram, and they also allow your audience see, who you really are, maybe for talking in some they get a flavor your personality. They get to see that you’re, real or whatever you’re selling or advertising is real, and it’s just honestly articles capture people’s attention.
A lot more than photos do, and they also tell a lot more of a story, so definitely integrate articles into your feet as well as photos, be active on IG stories, be active on IG TV. Make some highlights on your page. Just make sure your whole profile is being active. This way, people can really get to know you better. They want more detail, so go to your I G TV, and then your stories will also really help your attraction.
Instagram is actually pushing those that are using all the features on their Instagram. You guys can even go live if you’re, not shy or if you have something to show live, is a great way to attract attention and help your engagement and then stories as well. You’ll see that if you post stories every day, your story, engagement and the amount of people reading them will grow as well, because you’ll always be pushed to the front, and it’s also a good way to get people onto your page onto your feed.
You can also do swipe up links just there’s so many features you can do so make sure you’re using all the avenues of Instagram. Now I know you guys are thinking. This is just so much. How am I ever going to have the time to do all of this? And yes, I know it can be a lot and putting the time for quality production does take up a lot of time, but there’s a way that you can actually streamline your Instagram to make it so much easier for you and help yourself grow with this simple Hack, this little baby right here will make your life so much easier.
I’m going to walk you guys through and show you how to basically run and manage it and so we’re having to make it go. Super easy super, quick! All you have to do you guys can just put everything in there and then it’ll just basically run itself, and you will not get behind on your consistency, because that is what’s going to help your Instagram grow, so that the app is just going to be your Best friend, so, let’s check it out right now, I’m going to show you guys the screen recording, so I can walk you guys through all them using features.
This is going to help your Instagram world so much against your engagement, it’s going to grow and this is honestly the only natural way, the only legal natural way to grow your Instagram there’s so many advertised things out there that are going to you know advertise growth, But it could be, BOTS could be fake. You could get your Instagram and you don’t want that. You want natural growth and you want people that are actually real and engaging and actually want to be on your page.
So yeah, oh, and also I’m going to give you guys some bonus tips at the end of this article to make sure you guys read out for them so going to be later in the end. But right now, there’s number 2, the app and I’m going to show you what’s up all right, so we’re just going to go ahead and open the app the app and here you go. This is what your home screen is going to look like. There is a schedule button.
This is where your posts will go, that you scheduled here, you’ll see the ones that you have already posted and the cool thing about this is that you can actually have multiple Instagram usernames. So far. I only have two in here, but I have multiple accounts that I’m going to keep adding and then you can also see your analytics right here. It shows you, your follower, analytics your post analytics, and I mean some of this.
You can see on the Instagram app, but it’s really handy to have it right here in your schedule or app as well. You can also look at it in terms of past 24 hours, past 48 hours, 7 days and 14 days, so you can a more streamlined. Analytic of your progress, so I’m going to show you guys how to schedule your first post with this app and after that you can basically just schedule unlimited amount of posts, and you can schedule it basically for the week or for the month.
Yeah. All you do is press schedule and see you have all these other really cool features here you can basically you just pick. I mean I’ll, go over those features in a second, though, just pick a photo from your photo library. I already made a little folder of pictures that I wanted to post. You can also you know edit the sizing just like you cannot. Mr. Him, it can also make a carousel if you are in the mood and then you click Next and then here you can.
Edit it you can either change some filters if you want to – or you can go in here – and you have some really cool – really really cool things you can play with the adjustments. So that’s regular I’ve already added with my photos, so I don’t need any of that. But again you have blur and focus you can draw on it, which I think is a really cool feature. Hey. That’s me: if you want to so you can get more crafty with your photos.
All I’m going to. You can add text whether you’re trying to create a meme. You can also do splash, which is basically I mix it all black and white, and then you can pick the size of your brush and you can show the parts where you want the color to come through. So, for instance, if I want to show myself I’m not doing this in great detail right now, I’m just showing you the effect. I know some people like that effect and then everything else will be black and white, but you we’d, probably zoom in in color and better than I did there, but that’s just an example of how that works.
Then you can also have stickers, which is really cool. So mmm and then you just click Next and right here. Another cool feature here that we have is, you can actually schedule to post photos to multiple Instagram pages. It gives you all the things you get on Instagram. You write your caption, you have caption history, you have your saved caption if you have already scheduled something or if you have to put it in your defaults, so it’ll show your previous captions and then the cool thing.
You can actually have hashtag suggestions here. So if you’re outputting hashtags, which I do recommend you do, they will help them, do it exposure there we go, you can just click on it and see they all popped in right there. So I can just click Save and then you can add your location pick Los Angeles and then another cool feature is that you can write your first comment, so I know some people like to put their hashtags in the second.
In the first comment after the caption, therefore, it’s not like clogging up space in your caption, which is something I do quite a bit of the time as well. So you can actually put your hashtags right here, which is cool. You can save that and then you already have your first comment ready and loaded and then, if you do have a business page where you have products on your page that you are selling you can click the add products.
This is the most detailed type of schedule or app that I have seen that actually gives you all of these options. So I think it is awesome and you click Next and then you can pick your timezone. I have Los Angeles, which is where I am and then here it’ll actually recommend you the best time to focus e to help you reach more followers and engagement, Alfie analyzes 10 billion posts, engagement of your followers and accounts similar to yours, applied machine learning to find The best time for you, though, for me for tomorrow it says that 7:12 would be the best time to post.
So I’m just going to change it to that and then maybe you’re doing a shout out and you want to have a delete time. It has an option for that as well. I won’t be deleting it, so I won’t be doing that and then, if you are doing an advertised post, it even has a feature for that where it will send your advertiser notifications and you basically put in all your information. It takes care of it for you and click Next and see my scheduled post pops up here and then you can just keep scheduling, scheduling and then you’ll have a post ready for every day.
How easy is that? That’s just awesome! You don’t have to do anything but just engage with your following and it will take care of the rest for you. You also have a drag and drop preview, which I think is awesome. I like to look at a grid preview before I post it on my Instagram, just to see how it will look and basically, since this one is already scheduled, it’s already and there, but basically you can just add photos see I put them all in and now You can drag and drop them to rearrange them to the best way, so you can just kind of see beforehand and therefore it’ll help.
You schedule your posts and the best looking manner as well, which is awesome because, like I said, you want to have a quality, a quality feed which people are attracted to and that they like – and this is how you can do that – that is to bulk schedule Them and basically you just select all the ones you want and then you’ll just put in the scheduling for all these pictures. Therefore, you don’t have to keep doing them one by one.
You can also search and repost, maybe have a meme type of Instagram. You can search for anything on here and all you do if you want to repost something on your page. This makes it super simple. You pick this and then you just click repost, and you can also select repos to post or repost a story. It makes it really easy to run a meme account as well. So if that’s, what you guys are doing, this app is bomb for that, and then the other cool awesome.
Most amazing things on here that I haven’t seen on some scheduling apps is that you can post your story and your IG TV, which is amazing, because you can schedule all of that as well. So you can have all of your engagement on your platform already scheduled and done, and then you don’t have to worry about anything. You just sit back in. You know, drink your coffee. Read a movie. Go to the park, walk your dog, I don’t know just have a good time.
You can get detailed with your stories. You can tag, people hash tags. If you want – and you can also add a story URL. So you can add a swipe up link which is awesome. You can do it all from the scheduling app. So all your advertisements or things you’re trying to promote you can do it all up here. You can also schedule your ID TV here. We go. Here’s a article that popped up, for instance, Helena closest to my ig TV.
This was a funny article Spencer and I in the car after he had a root canal and I was making fun of it. I can write a description, a title with the time zone. You can add the first comment on that. Basically, all the scheduling thing you saw for the post, you can do for your ID TV as well, and then you can also bulk schedule. Like I said you can pull proposal for story and book for ID TV and just get them done a lot faster.
I have the pro account which lets me post unlimited amount of scheduled posts. There is a free option and I think you can post up to 10. I do recommend upgrading and getting one that is paid for again, like I said in scranton, is an investment, and this will really help your engagement. This is like the ultimate hat, guys, there’s also a desktop version. So if you keep everything on your computer, you can easily run and manage it from your computer as well, which is also another amazing feature and guys.
I will be putting a referral code down in the description below so that you guys can get 10 % off of your subscription to IP. If you decide to get it so when you guys are going to get the app just make sure you use that referral code, so you do get that 10 % off so, like I promised here, your bonus tips for your Instagram engagement. The first one would be to tag make sure you are tagging. People in your photos make sure your tagging brands.
If maybe there are pages that you can see yourself being featured on tag, those in your photos and articles so that they can see it and they might be post you if they repost, you, then it’ll attract more people to your page and if they, even if They don’t repose to you. People often look at the tagged photos on these popular pages and they might run across to your page and be like wow. I really love this and follow you for that, and then other one.
This one is paid, but it can be very beneficial, especially if you are marketing something and that is to actually use the ads on Instagram. You don’t have to spend a lot. You can spend a couple dollars, maybe five dollars and just to boost your post Instagram. Actually favors people that uses that use ads. Obviously they want so your money. If you have a couple dollars to spare that can really help your growth as well.
If you are selling something it’ll just help market, you in general, which is amazing and you could sell more products – can get more conversions. That way. That’s it guys, that’s my article. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I hope you guys will follow some of these tips and I hope that it really does help. You grow your Instagram. I know it is very difficult. These days, Instagram keeps making it more and more difficult, but it doesn’t have to be.
All you have to do is be consistent, make good quality content and be on top of it. Basically, that’s all you got to do and it will road just takes time set an overnight thing. So just remember that and you will be very successful and that’s it guys, don’t forget to like this article. Don’t forget to subscribe, so you don’t miss any more articles and I will see you guys next time in my next article
You know five or six years ago. It used to be enough just to have a website for your business, and you could treat it almost like an online brochure where you, just you know, put up your five pages about your location and your about Us page and a quick just description of your your Products and and sort of just left it at that that just doesn’t work anymore.
You need to have a living breathing online presence, not just on your website, but on your social media profiles on your blog, your podcast, your review sites, your ratings and review sites, and you want all these to be interacting with your website and with each other, and So that no matter where people go online to look for you you’re, going to show up if your head hasn’t started to explode at some point during this presentation.
This is usually when it happens, and I’m going to warn you. This can be very overwhelming, but the key is just to take it one step at a time and instead of throwing up your hands and I and giving up just to pick one or two things to get started and to take action on them. When I work with people and work with businesses to develop their total online presence, I actually use a year-long action plan to take them from Ground Zero.
All the way through having a complete marketing strategy or online marketing strategy for their business. So I’ll go ahead and share you share with you what that plan looks like, so you can start to use it on your own. The first thing you want to do is set up a what we call a lessening station. In other words, you want to follow other people’s blogs. You want to follow other people’s podcasts or listen to other people’s podcasts start following people on Twitter, and these can be your competitors or customers.
Experts in your industry or all of the above. You also want to start to do some basic keyword, research, in other words, looking into what terms people use when they search for your type of business online and when you get started. That’s really. All you want to do is just set up that listening station and read and observe for a a month or two just see what everybody else is doing. What they’re saying what they’re writing about what their podcasting about step two is to set up your content platform or, what’s also known as a website.
This is going to be the hub of your online presence and what all your the various folks come out of, and the spokes being your social media profiles and the ratings and reviews sites and and all of that, if you’re, not using the wordpress content management system. Right now to manage your website, I would highly recommend taking a good long look at moving your website to WordPress and if you haven’t set up your website yet you’re just getting started with that.
That process I’d highly recommend using WordPress to do that, actually teach it entire a seminar just on WordPress. So it’s it’s not a subject that I can cover really well here, but I will say that it started out as a blogging platform, but it is growing into much much more than that. It is now a very versatile and easy-to-use system for managing a small business website. It’s also a free by the way, at least through the the software is all you have to pay for is the web hosting so take take a good long look at using WordPress for your website.
Once we’ve got your website set up. You want to continue your keyword, research and begin to integrate those keywords into your website, and this process is what we call search engine optimization. It’s also a billion-dollar industry and a subject for a workshop in and of itself, but suffice it to say that there are ways when you set up your website and produce your content, that you can do it in a way that makes your website show up in Search results when, when people are searching for terms related to your industry and that’s something that you need to be doing, the next step in the total online presence action plan is to start doing some email marketing.
This is by far the most cost-effective way for a small business to communicate with with customers and one of the most cost effective marketing tactics that a small business can use. You can literally for twenty to thirty dollars a month, send thousand root, or even tens of thousands of emails to your customers or to prospective customers. You want to make sure you’re doing this legally. There is there’s laws like that: govern email, marketing that fall into that.
The can-spam act, one of the best ways to make sure that you are complying with the law, is to use an email service provider like aweber, constant contact, MailChimp or long list of other quality email service providers. These systems will also allow you to see who’s opening. Your emails, what links they clicked on in your emails at a long list of other analytics that you can use to to tweak and improve your marketing.
These systems also allow you to set up a series of autoresponders so that when someone is added to a particular email list, they automatically get a series of emails based out over time that you only have to write once and then just get sent automatically. So it’s a great time-saving tool after you’ve gotten your email marketing started and only after you’ve gotten your email marketing started. You want to begin to use your social media platforms.
Places like facebook, twitter, linkedin and google+ are where you need to get started. These are the sort of the big four and I would also add YouTube to that. As you might be aware, YouTube is actually owned by google. It is currently the second largest search engine on the internet, so there’s more people searching for things using YouTube, then with search engines like yahoo and being combined, so it’s definitely a place where you want to be showing up once you have your profile set up on These sites and have begun to build your list of followers you want to move on to online advertising and integrate that into your action plan.
Online advertising is by far the most trackable form of advertising that a small business or any type of business can use. You can actually see things like which adds people looked at which ads they, they clicked on. Imagine for a second going to your local newspaper and asking it if you could put an ad in the paper, but only actually pay for it. When somebody read to add the newspaper would laugh in your face, this is this is impossible right, well, online advertising actually does that with pay-per-click advertising.
You don’t pay one penny. Unless somebody actually clicks on the ad and gets to your website, you can define a budget that you want to use. Every month. You can target the ads to certain geographic areas. When we get into facebook advertising, it gets even more detailed and the types of demographics. You can target with your pay-per-click ads for your paper impression ads. In fact, I’ve even heard of people writing ads for facebook that we’re so targeting that only their family members could see them.
So it’s really got some great potential for some very highly targeted and trackable advertising once you’ve tested online advertising and integrated that into your action plan. The last piece of the puzzle is mobile. Marketing. You can do things like develop a mobile app for your business that people can put on their cell phones in some industries that might be more practical than others. But if you get a little creative, I think there’s some great potential there for ways that you can use a mobile app in your business.
We can also think about mobile marketing in terms of SMS messaging or text messaging. This is a great marketing tool for businesses like restaurants or other other businesses that get their customers back in the door on a regular basis. You can use it to send out alerts. Customer service alerts about sales that are going on, or deadlines that are coming up or specials that your customers might want to know about, and people can actually sign up for these alerts if they want to get them and unlike emails, which currently for a good email Campaign well written email campaign, open rates are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty five to forty percent.
Typically, however, with text messaging rates, the open rates for those are upwards of ninety five percent. So when you stand out a text message, you can almost guarantee that it’s going to get read so this is this: is the online present action plan and again it’s a year-long process, so don’t let it get overwhelming. Take it one step at a time pick out. One or two pieces that you’re most comfortable with and start there and then just make it a regular part of your routine that you continue to work on.
There are a lot of tools out there that you can use to make this easier and I can list dozens of them, but just to to help you get started, I’m going to list a couple here that I think you should take a look at first. One is a tool called LastPass com. A lot of these other tools from about to mention require you to set up an account and have a username and password. What LastPass does is automatically generate a password for you and every time you go back to that site.
Automatically logs you in so you don’t have to remember all these different passwords and each password is completely unique and very secure. The tool called feedly.Com is something you should use to help you set up your listening station. This is a place. You can our service. You can use to subscribe to other people’s blogs and then go to this one website and read all the blogs in one place and scan through the headlines.
So you can see what content you might want to look at some more or share with your followers again. WordPress, an excellent tool for setting up your website and managing your content. If you’re not using it right now, go ahead and investigate what that might be able to do for you over 23,000 plugins available for WordPress to add functionality to a basic WordPress site, and most of them are free. Adwords is a tool used by out online advertisers from google for managing pay-per-click advertising campaigns, but it also has a great a keyword, research tool in there that you can use to help you with your keyword, research and setting up an account with AdWords is free.
You don’t actually have to pay for advertising or pay for access to that. So that’s probably something you should put in your toolbox. Another great tool for your listening station is mentioned net. This is a service that sends you an alert every time your brand is mentioned online or other terms from your industry that that you specify so you can set up alerts for your competitors for your brand for industry keywords and every time somebody mentioned sees it on A social media site, or in a blog or anywhere online you’re, going to get an alert, so you can keep track of who’s talking about your company and what they’re saying both good and bad.
So you can go out and respond to that. A tool called outs by food calm is one that I like to help research your competitors. You can actually go in and see what keywords your competitors are using on their website. That is getting them traffic. You can see if they’re doing any online advertising or not and what keywords are targeting for that advertising. If they are so it’s a great way of doing a little spying on the competition, then last but not least, a tool called marketing greater calm as a free tool that allows you to plug in your website or your competitors websites and get a grade that actually Tells you how you’re doing right now with your online marketing it.
You can do this as many times as you want. It’s completely free and it’s going to give you some specific action steps that they recommend you take to improve your website, so a very great free tool for you to help. Give you some ideas to get started and, like I said I could go on for quite some time: you’re just listing different tools to help you with your online action plan. But I would start with those that I mentioned there again pick one or two things that you’re going to start with and just keep coming back and building on this over time.
You
Who is helping with your digital business footprint?
I ’ m, not talking about arguments in the office. I mean conflicts when two or more things need to be in the same place. There are a lot of challenges in getting facilities. Over under around or between each other and there ’ s a specific structure: ubiquitous In the constructed environment that ’ s, sole purpose is to deal with the conflict between Roadways and streams, canals and ditches Hey.
I ’ m Grady, and this is Practical Engineering On today. ’ s episode. We ’ re! Talking about! Culverts This article is sponsored by NordVPN More on that later, Culverts are one of those things that seem So obvious that you never take the time to even consider them, They ’ re, also so common that they practically Blend into the background, But without them life in this world would Be quite a bit more complicated.
Let me explain what I mean. Imagine you, ’ re designing a brand new roadway To connect point A to point B, It would be nice if the landscape between these points, Was perfectly flat with no obstructions or topographic relief, But that ’ s rarely true More likely on the way you ’ ll encounter. Hills and valleys structures and streams, and you ’ ll – have to decide how to deal with Each one Your road can go around some obstacles, but For the most part, you ’ ll have to work with what you ’ ve got.
A roadway has to have gentle curves, both horizontally And vertically so you might have to take soil or rock from the high spots and build Up the low spots along the way also called cut and fill, But you ’ ve got to be careful about filling In low spots, because that ’ s where water flows, Sometimes it ’ s obvious, like rivers or perennial Streams, but lots of watercourses are ephemeral, meaning they only flow when it rains.
If you fill across any low area in the natural Landscape, you run the risk of creating an impoundment. If water can ’ t get through your embankment It ’ s going to flow over the top. Not only can this lead to damage of the roadway It can be extremely dangerous to motorists and other vehicles. One obvious solution to this obvious problem: Is a bridge the classic way to drive a vehicle over a body of water, But bridges are expensive.
You have to hire a structural engineer, install Supports girders and road decks: It ’ s, just not feasible for most small creeks And ditches So instead we do fill the low spots in, but We include a pipe, so the water can get through That pipe is called a culvert and there ’ s. Actually, quite a bit of engineering behind this innocuous bit of infrastructure, I know what you ’ re, thinking, “, Just a pipe Under a road, How complicated could it be ”? Well, allow me to introduce you to the U.
S Federal Highway Administration; ’ s Hydraulic Design of Highway Culverts! Third edition! Yes, you ’ re! Seeing that right, 323 pages Of wonderful guidelines on how to get water to flow under a road But worry not because I have taken my favorite Parts of this manual and built a demonstration, so you can appreciate the modern marvel that Is the highway culvert as much as any red-blooded civil engineer? A culvert really only has two jobs.
It has To be able to hold up the weight of the traffic passing over without collapsing, and it has To be able to let enough water pass through without overtopping the roadway, Both jobs are pretty complicated, but it ’ s. The second one I want to talk about in this article And it turns out that figuring out how much Water can pass through a culvert before the roadway. Overtops is a pretty complicated question.
In fact, there are eight factors that can Influence the hydraulics of a culvert (, 1 ) Headwater, or the depth of flow upstream of The culvert ( 2 ) The cross-sectional area of the culvert barrel, ( 3 ), the cross-sectional Shape of the culvert barrel, ( 4 ), the configuration of the culvert inlet ( 5 ), the roughness of The culvert barrel, ( 6 ) the length of the culvert ( 7 ), the slope of the culvert and ( 8 ), the tailwater or depth of flow downstream.
We don ’ t have time to demonstrate how all These parameters affect the culvert flow, but the Federal Highway Administration actually Has a pretty comprehensive article on YouTube ( with a much nicer flume than mine )? If you Want to see more, One thing I do want to show is the two primary Flow regimes for culverts, which are outlet, control and inlet control, And these are pretty much exactly what they Sound like Outlet control happens when water can flow.
Into the culvert faster than it can flow out, That means flow is limited by either the roughness And friction in the culvert barrel or the tailwater depth at the outlet. It ’ s kind of hard to see the movement of Water here, so I ’ m: blowing some bubbles Notice how the culvert barrel is flowing full The entire area of the barrel is being taken. Advantage of for flow In outlet control flow conditions downstream Of the culvert can affect the flow rate, For example, if a tree falls across a ditch.
Downstream that can back up water, reducing flow through the culvert and causing the roadway To overtop Inlet control happens when the culvert inlet Is constricting the flow more than any of those other factors, Everything that affects the amount of water Passing below the road is happening at the inlet. That means changing the roughness of the inside Of the barrel or anything downstream won, ’ t change.
How much flow makes it through It. ’ s easy to show this in my model because You can see inside the culvert barrel, You can tell that the flow depth in the culvert Is shallow and the full flow area of the barrel is not being taken advantage of? There are a wide variety of configurations. That the inlet to a culvert can have, If you pay attention, you ’ ll, see all kinds. Of culvert inlets, Some common types include projecting where The pipe protrudes from the embankment mitered, where the pipe is cut flush to the embankment And headwall, where the culvert begins at a vertical concrete wall, sometimes accompanied By concrete wing walls to further direct flow into the barrel, Unsurprisingly, each of the multitude of different Inlet configurations has a different effect on the culvert hydraulics In my demo.
I can do a test of two of these Inlet configurations to show the difference. First, I ’ m testing the projecting inlet. This is one of the least efficient configurations. Because there ’ s, nothing to help train the flow into the culvert. You can see that the headwater elevation is Quite high even close to overtopping the headwall in my flume, And even with all that pressure upstream There, ’ s not that much water coming through the culvert; It ’ s, only flowing about half full.
I ’ ll mark the water level with googly eyes. Next, I reconfigured the demo to make the culvert Flush with the headwall – And I also rounded over the inside edge of The pipe giving the flow a smoother entrance – I didn – ’ t change how much flow the pump is. Creating but you can see that the headwater is much much lower. That means the inlet is more efficient because It takes less driving headwater to get the same amount of flow through the barrel.
In fact, as I cranked up the flowrate higher And higher, I realized that even with as much headwater as I could create, this configuration Was still acting as an outlet-controlled culvert, The smooth and flush inlet was allowing as Much flow as possible through, Of course, there are really elaborate. Culvert Inlets that can be extremely efficient, but, like all infrastructure, culvert design is An exercise in balancing cost with other factors.
You can spend a lot of money on a fancy. Culvert Inlet that has perfectly smooth edges to guide the water gently into the barrel, or you could Just bump up to the next pipe size, Calculating flow through a culvert can be Quite complicated because culverts can transition between inlet and outlet control depending On flow rate, And even within these two major flow regimes, Of inlet and outlet control, there are a whole host of subregimes, each of which has its Own hydraulic equations, Of course we have software now, but back in The 1960s and 70s the Federal Highway Administration came up with a whole group of these cool nomographs To simplify the hydraulic design of culverts, The way this works is you first find the right Chart for your situation, [ 7A ].
This one is a culvert with a submerged outlet. Flowing full Each one is a little different, but in this One you draw a line connecting the culvert length to its diameter, Then draw a line connecting the headwater Depth to the intersection of your other line, with the turning line Extend this line to the discharge scale to Find out the flow rate passing through the culvert, I love little tricks like this.
That boil down All that hydraulic complexity into a quick calculation, you can do with a straightedge In less than a minute, Next time you ’ re, driving or walking along A street keep an eye out for culverts And if it ’ s, raining take a look at the Flow See if you can identify whether the culvert Is outlet or inlet controlled and be thankful that we have this ordinary but remarkable? Bit of infrastructure to let you safely walk or drive right over.
A lot of us are working from home. These days. And if you ’ re like me, your job requires you to connect to the company network through A VPN, The IT department – doesn, ’ t trust that I ’ ve. Set a secure password on my home router that I ’ ve updated the firmware on my printer Or that I ’ m, aware of let alone have fixed any number of other vulnerabilities on my Personal network And honestly, if the IT department, doesn, ’ t Trust me, I don ’ t trust me either That ’ s why I use NordVPN These days.
Most major websites are already Encrypting traffic and many smartphones do the same, But there are people and organizations constantly Working to find new vulnerabilities that take advantage of people online, NordVPN, encrypts and tunnels, my web traffic Making it much harder for anyone who would have or could have been a part of that chain, From seeing my information, I don ’ t have to worry if I ’ m, on a secure Network and I don ’ t have to trust my ISP to be a good steward of my data.
I just click connect and it ’ s done. It works on all my devices and there ’ s. No Limit on bandwidth, I lock the doors to my house when I ’ m away. And I turn on NordVPN when I ’ m using my computer, Not because I think it ’ s likely someone Is going to take advantage of me, but because it takes no effort at all to do so and and It reduces my vulnerability if they ever tried. I need that to be called out so when we’re in here just to show you some of the fun things that we do in the master closer seminar, we got something for you in the back baby check this out, see right here. Albert just flew in everybody. He can’t make the match closed summer this month, so you flew in soon early had something come up, but he can’t be here this weekend.
Oh no worries whether this is your first stop. Where player is their 14-year family for us priced raising payments, but you can find something like I’ll make sure I’ve taken care of you boom, you move past it did. I flinch. No, it’s trying to get it ready. It’s my first shot. This is your first stop. Please doing this I’m going to take the whistle that was number one in the master closer. Yes, we did better, but we have yeah the hoxsey rejection right here and my job is to say I appreciate you.
These are the numbers. Let me show you how we’re going to do this presentation, delivery. Everything matters my voice, my words using my words at the right time, all of it flows together and that’s what they call a master closer okay, somebody that can literally not only close the clothes for all the money. The delivery is everything, so it’s been working and, I suppose our Center honor we do this.
I just want to tell you: everybody will have a whistle on their desk and if somebody hears or sees that somebody loses confidence for a second hey. You know so part of being great at closing. Negotiating is raising your standards in all areas. Okay, so, even though we might be delivering the right words or not ready to roll honey, give us one that whistle before you know date, I got will see you may 2nd Mather Saturday, 6:30 to 9 home for dinner drinks, the entrepreneurial party and then Sunday May 3Rd Diane had a comped room and we have two seats.
I would take you guys over just the entire collection of all. We have four different pocket knives and also neck knives. Slash this isn’t really a neck knife, but it’s a folding belt knife, so these over here we’ll be getting into in the second half of this article.
But these are the first half of the article, and these are all the pocket clip knives so and as a pocket clip on it is going to be the knives we’re going to be going over and we’re going to be starting off with the lowest valued knives. Over here and in this first rope here is all the lower valued knives and then all the higher valued knives are on this upper row here. So that’s how we’re going to be taking a look at, and hopefully you guys enjoy, taking a look at all of these awesome knives and you guys can get some ideas to add to your knife collection and we’re going to be giving also a commentary of what We think about each of these knives, both of us because, like I said this is our joint collection, even though I technically got everything but technically it is also her collection, as well as mine, anyways, guys, don’t forget to comment like share and subscribe for more this Alaskan awesomeness so anyways guys I’ve got cuffs punch myself to fit into this hole.
I kind of seen, but we’re going to be starting off with this. This is actually an Ozark Trail and this knife, I’m sure received I did not buy, but I know that people like cutlery lover, have done several articles on these knives and they’re, not actually the worst knives out there, especially for being under three dollars. They work pretty. Well and their overall okay knives, but it actually is in my collection, it’s just one of those knives.
That’s often forgotten in the collection, because it’s like I have this and then I have a whole bunch of really expensive knives. So it’s kind of like, and do I really want to carry this? No, because I have like some awesome knives that I would rather carry and take up pocket space cuz. I only have so much pocket space I can afford to use. So generally, they end up with high rent knives, but overall it’s a good knife.
It’s a really good knife for beginners and people who just kind of want to get a knife a knife. This is definitely not a bad one. It has an adequate amount of grip for people who aren’t knife nuts. They won’t really know that you know tip down, carries kind of lame and not really liked in this industry, but the blade centering on this is actually really good and the overall function so long as you don’t use the flip or the flippers really anemic.
If you use the thumb studs, it fires right, improper, but overall, I like it as a good beginner knife. What are your thoughts? My thoughts is that I, like that, it’s lightweight he is right about the flippers like, as you can see it’s just the flipper itself is clumsy. You got ta flick it, but the thumb studs do pretty good, but anyways. I feel like this would be a really good knife for just a younger kid or a low-budget person who just needed a decent knife and, as he said, it’s very cost efficient.
I really don’t know much about this knife, as I was only introduced to it like the other day but like he said he doesn’t carry it much, but I mean I think, for the most part of year she carry them, they’re, really good user knives and what I like about them too, is they’re really great knives to take. If you have a high probability or if you’re one of those people that likes an episode likes but ends up, losing a lot of knives is also a great knife for you, because it’s one of those knives that, if you lose it you’re only out like $ 2.
97, so it’s really cheap and easily replaceable, but that is the Ozark Trail. This is, I forget what this is my thing: they called it like. Those are Trail, flipper knife, something like that and it’s just a very basic name, early generic, but nothing too special anyways. I don’t really have anything in like the twenty dollar region, except this more eldress, that’s about the only twenty dollar knife.
I have the only thing that I really like the next cheapest step up is actually this Boger Kalashnikov and this things around like 50 bucks. I think they are around anywhere from 40 to 50 bucks, depending on which type you get there’s what they make a whole bunch of these different things, but this is a full size over Kalashnikov course. This isn’t Auto and overall I have not had this knife for a super long time, but I’ve really been curious about the kalashnikovs for quite some time and for the most part I like and putting it up against the afk which I’ll get to in a little Bit but anyways, so you know putting it up against the afk as far as fire speed goes they’re, both very hard firing, really nice, not as as far as auto action goes.
Of course, these are both afk and this one are both autos so check with legalities. Before going and purchasing an auto but for the most part, they’re really good knives and this Kalashnikov is pretty good granted. It is an us 8 steel. So I’ll say it’s not the worst thing in the world, but it could be better but yeah for the most part. If this, if I got this knife, I actually got it in a trade, but if I were to buy it, I definitely would not be disappointed.
My thoughts were surprised for such a compared to the afk such a low-end knife, how fast and how hard it actually did fire we put them up against each other this morning and we’re firing them just to see. You know which one came out: first, which and fired the hardest and they’re actually pretty evenly matched so for people. Looking for a low-end, lower, lower end automatic knife. This is actually pretty decent.
I noticed right away when he pulled it out of the box yesterday that it was definitely cheaper. It’s like like the handle grips and everything are not like not like as high-end or as nice. It’s like something on a Spyderco or a bench made ecology, but – and I mean even the steel. If you look at the steel, I mean it’s a little lackluster and it’s it is an Aussie. So it’s under the best in that retention plan overall, the fit and finish I mean it’s definitely a $ 50 knife and it’s a $ 50 on a knife.
So what I mean by that is, when you get an automatic knife, there has to be more to this than in a little flipper like this, there’s actually Springs and the locking mechanism is more complicated. The only other thing I’m kind of slightly concerned about is this pocket clip and because I like it, except for the fact that the metal is like really really flimsy and kind of bendy. I wonder if maybe over time it might Bend out real easily.
But I mean he’s if it bends out easily that it might be easy to fix, but that’s just the only concern I really have, but I guess only times to tell me for me personally I mean I don’t think the retention. Having a lot of experience. I don’t think the retention too bad, I will say as far as bending goes, it could definitely Bend because of its lane. This weakest point is like right up here. This is a very long clip.
If you see even this, Reata has a pretty long clip, but it’s not quite as long as this broker clash d’etat, so it could technically bend, but only time will tell on that anyways. It is a pretty solid knife, but I do like it for me. My pregame expectations before I got the knife were handled it at all. I was expecting to be cheaper than it actually was. I was expecting the firing to not be as good as it is, but this thing actually kicks out pretty good.
So our next knife here is the little tiny spider code dragonfly, and this is a pretty awesome knife for her. I actually really liked the dragonfly for years and years and years and years and years, but now that we actually have one. I have to say I’m glad she likes it, because I really don’t enjoy this knife as much as I thought I would it’s the reason. Why is it’s just too small for me really, I like to have a knife.
That’s kind of like this bench made 5d6 that I mean this for me, is about as small as I’ll go. You can see. I still have just a little bit of room hanging off, whereas with this dragonfly this is it like you’re choked up – and I mean I’m just suffocating the blade – and it’s really small, it’s great for fine, delicate tasks and stuff like that. But I really don’t like the dragonfly, I mean it’s a good quality knife, but for me it just doesn’t fit the bell, so I’m glad that she really enjoyed it because I actually do not like the dragon finds much as you can see.
It doesn’t really give me that issue as much I mean I can hold it back here. If I want – or I can hold it up here on the chipping, the Chim thing. If I want – and you know, I’ve really enjoyed this little knife – it’s it like. You said it’s really good for delicate work. It’s really good. It’s really really sharp. I was surprised for such a little knife. How sharp it is. It’s wicked, sharp, great it slicing and it is really great a slicing, very clean slicing.
I often carry one other all-purpose knife with this knife. This is just for smaller things. I wouldn’t want to use it for bigger, all-purpose tasks, but for a little tiny, itty-bitty things I always go to the Dragonfly and I’m really pleased with it. It was probably the best Christmas gift I’ve ever had they also. I also like that, it’s so lightweight, but it’s also like for being lightweight and so small.
It’s also really sturdy, there’s absolutely no play and whatsoever, and it is I mean it’s lightweight, because it’s small, but I mean you can tell it’s it’s good quality because it has a little bit of heft to it and I’m also really pleased with the pocket clip. I haven’t had any issues with the pocket clip at all yeah, that’s good, why your pocket clips from Spyder go! So do I – and I will say I will give it some credit to for being so small, this bi-directional patterning patterning that they have on these and Endura delica.
All those is a really great pattern. It’s really grippy so now onto the Centofanti by Spyderco, and this is another one, that’s newer for me, and this is another knife that I’ve kind of looked at for a long time and thought about getting. But honestly, this little Spyderco logo. Here is what honestly drove me away from this knife for a really long time, so I thought it was gaudy and it was really stupid.
I was like why Spyderco why I mean I would actually like the lines of this handle just fine if they would remove this Spyderco logo, but either way. Once again, this is another knife I got in trade, so I’m not complaining. I I definitely had the option to get this knife. This is one that I chose for sure and I do, for the most part, really enjoy it oops, but for the most part I actually really like it.
It’s a very, very lightweight knife, and it has a just about as thin blade stock as the Dragonfly. So what that leads to is a really really thin slice iikind of knife, and it does a really good job. Of course, it uses the same vg-10 as made in sake City, Japan, just like the dragonfly in the Endura and the matriarch and all those knives. So it’s really nice quality, even though it does not have screws in it.
Unlike these other two knives here, it has just fine lockup and everything really does not need to be tuned. So sometimes people freak out when there’s not you know screws in their knives like this or like this. People want screws, so they can take it apart. But for the most part realistically, we’re not really taking these knives apart. So I’m not that concerned about the pin together construction as some people might be, but for the most part this is definitely more of an elegant knife.
You can see that this is basically the inter handles, so this is basically an enduro looks like the most part, so it looks more like a user type of knife. This is more of like your high-end kind of or not as a high-end, but there’s more of your elegant knife or if you want a gentleman’s carry this would definitely fit that role and I think you’re really capable knife. That’s thin slice II. It could even go into a little bit of defensive, because this tip here does have a non destroy sharpened, but definitely false edge or kind of swedge on it that definitely helps penetration.
We only got this knife day before yesterday. I think it’s fairly new. I haven’t really gotten a lot of experience with it, but I do look forward to using it more in the future. I’m liking the chipping here right here. You know I mean there’s not a whole lot of grip on the handle like there is on these, but it’s not horribly bad. I mean it fits pretty comfortable, but it’s like I’m glad. I have this.
You know but anyways. I really liked how it looked when I first saw it us like it’s very elegant. It’s very gentle man, although the funny part is for pound for pound. This is almost as heavy, if not heavier than this, which I find kind of flares, but this is definitely just an elegant, thin knife and honestly, I don’t mind the Spyderco. Maybe it’s because I’m a girl – and I don’t care if it looks gaudy, because it really does not look that it doesn’t.
Look that bad. It just looks like in comparison to this and or a handle and like I like this kind of low profile. It’s not really a guy’s name. I got you a ton of that. It’s just like shiny silver. Looking and you know, but anyway, I like this knife and I thought it was cool to add another Spyderco to the collection and, if you solved probably, but you haven’t over here – someone’s close fighters, ironically also in arachnophobia in real life.
But seriously, though, this is not a really, this is not a bad knife and I wouldn’t mind carrying it. I’m going to carry it more. Like I mentioned with the Dragonfly, I like to have another all-purpose knife on hand, and I might try this for a while and see how it goes and I’ll keep you guys updated, but I’m pretty excited about using definitely reviews to come on all of these knives. That have not been reviewed.
None of these knifes here have been reviewed reviews to come on all of these – probably not this one, but now that one’s been reviewed and reira viewed and featured over well, I guess not a lot of overviews, never really any reviews, but anyways now to the Spyderco Matriarch and this matriarch to with wave feature, of course, lots of wetness on this thing, but anywho. So this is the matriarch, and this there’s not a whole lot to talk about.
This is really more of a defensive option than it is a knife, but really ashley is more to Santa cuz. I have not really carried this thing or messed around with it too much because really been her light. I carry it constantly and he hardly gets any time in edgewise because well, that’s because that’s really you need it more than me, because I can’t gotten some more, but not not recently, all maybe a little bit but not in days to come.
Anyways guys. I really am pleased with the matriarch, like I’ve said multiple times before and like he just touched on now. I do not use this for any all-purpose work. This is strictly for defense, but I’m really glad I have it. I’m continually impressed with the different ways I found. I can carry it the different ways. I can find activate the wave feature and snap it out really quick and bring up to slash and everything.
It’s like it’s just a one-time deal kind of knife. It’s like that! Commercial – and I don’t remember what company it is, but it’s like we hope you never need you, but we’re there. If you do, you know this is that kind of a knife, but I just am continually impressed with just how beautiful and savage it is, but also how effective it is, and I on one hand, I’m kind of curious to test it out. But, on the other hand, I really don’t want to go that route anyways guys.
That’s really all I can say about the matriarch, because it’s holding up like a champ and I’m really really pleased to have it. It’s a real, really great knife. It has a lot of the same awesome ergonomic features that sound like the dragonfly house, with the bi-directional patterning patterning and overall it will not slip onto your grip. I don’t that’s a really nice thing. That’s a good thing so now on to possibly one of my most loved knives on the table, or at least it was just kind of being replaced a little bit, but this is the benchmade 56 and this has been a really daily workhorse.
For me. For many years it’s only recently kind of been just a little phased out. Obviously we have a huge rotation here, so we we try and rotate everything in, but the most parts not getting as much pocket time, but it’s a really great awesome, just small folder. Once again, this is about as small as I like to go, but when I want a small folder, that’s super capable, because the blade length or the blade to handle ratio is really good.
On this knife. Benchmade took advantage of having a lot of blade to handle on this, and so that makes it a really small knife. We had a really really capable knife and not saying that I just love every time I use this knife. It feels like it’s actually a larger knife than it really is because the capabilities of the blade, the way it penetrates into things and just slices open boxes and all that awesome stuff.
I do want to note that I have modded it, of course, to have a deep, carry clip and I got another one, because this knife has a deep carry clip, and now this one has to have a deep carry clip, because I swear the deep carry clips. If you guys don’t already know they’re like a necessity on all bench maids, so if you want definitely ask benchmade because they’ll hook you up with them, but that is the only thing I’ve done.
It’s really. I love that deep character because it buries the knife and composite. I lovingly nicknamed this knife, the survival kit nice, because when I was first introduced to it, he had it in either one survival kit or another anyways. I’ve used it a little tiny bit, not a whole lot, but I’m pretty pleased with it. I mean I like the dragonfly a little bit better, but it’s a pretty good knife. I like benchmade as well.
I do recommend the deep carry clip a good all-purpose. It really is it’s. It’s coral, that’s all! I got to say about that. Ok, so now I’m moving on to the full size grip. This is actually my first bench made in my oldest bench made and I really love this thing. This is the zero fighter that 0:50. This is the 550 by benchmade and its really awesome knife. Of course, this one is just rock no lanyard for just a different style of carry.
It doesn’t really have it has a pocket clip, but it’s not on this knife, but this one. I don’t carry to it too much anymore, because it’s just a real beat-up Knight this one and the one I’m about to show are like my beater knives are kind higher-end beater knives. So I take it out for what you will, but these are knives that see a lot of use and they’re moderately expensive both of these that one more expensive than this one, but they’re really just good all-around workhorses.
And if, once again I wanted knife that is reliable and I know I can thump on or I know I can really put it into a serious situation – it’s not going to because that’s kind of like this knife right here. It’s like, I don’t know how much it can take. It’s a nice knife to go for for a beater, but it also may fail on you, whereas these two knives are really solid and I know they’re not going to fail on me so anyways don’t have a whole lot to say um.
This is just a really awesome workhorse. Of course, I got this one when I was new to knives and thought blackened. Serrations were really cool. Now I’ve kind of changed, as you guys can see, with like straight edge straight edge, straight edge straight edge. Even this is a straight edge. Everything tends to be a straight edge nowadays, except a handful of knives. This one, this one and this one are the only serrated ones I believe on this table, but overall, it’s a really great workhorse from what I’ve been told.
It seems like this knife is held up pretty well, because I mean he’s been carrying it for a lot of years. I don’t have really an experience with this knife, except for just messing with it a little bit in the house or whatever, but it reminds me honestly when I saw the black blade in the serrations. It was like an automatic you because I had a Gerber and it was the worst knife I ever had and it was blacked out with the serrations, and I saw this and I’m like ill, no way bro what the heck.
What what is this? What is this dratted, but honestly, benchmade and Gerber back then? I didn’t know the difference which is astronomical. I didn’t know that benchmade is such an amazing brand and that Gerber is just well trashed, so anyways guys. I think I got ta say this is the most unique knife on the table because of its blacked-out blade and serrations, and because of its lanyard and setup a clip and because, if it’s green handle, but it’s it’s a pretty cool knife.
I’ve I’m, like I said: I’ve never really used it, except just playing with it a little bit, but as soon as that gets held up pretty well and, like you said it’s a beater, it’s the true beater with the heater. Possibly this is probably the most beat knife on the table. This one I still really liked, and it’s a pretty awesome knife for those who don’t know this shape. This is obviously a micro tech, SOCOM Elite.
This is an old, it’s very beat-up, it’s very, very beat-up, but it’s a 2006 micro tech, SOCOM Elite, obviously a manual action. They do make some of these in auto, but this is a manual action d2 blade, and this is basically my high-end feeder, because I know this one’s not going to fail. It’s been around forever, like this thing’s been around eleven years now, and it just works really. Well, obviously, serrations on it – and this is a chisel grind blade that has a lot of its coating missing and all of its coating missing on this hikes.
It’s been resharpen a handful of times, as you guys definitely see, but it’s a tanto as well as actually, I think, the only tanto on the table unless you count like this. They kind of say that this is a modified can tell. But aside from that, if you count like this is the only true tanto blade on the table, but it’s a really awesome knife even is in its beat form. The grip on this and ergonomics are still really superb.
It’s an excellent knife for being a liner-lock and yeah. It’s just a really great workhorse knife. Now, the only thing I really don’t like about this knife is just like this one. It is a tip down. Carry I really don’t like tip down carry knives. It’s just. I mean you guys can see the pattern on this table. This is this one. In this one are legitimately the only two tip down carry knives on the table.
So all of my experience and real preference comes from tip up carry, so it kind of feels weird when I first saw this knife. The first thing that popped in my mind was like Matthew. You need to ask the guy how many people have you killed with this thing, because we were, we were supposing all kinds of cool stuff like? Oh, maybe it was an Iraq deployment knife and it very well may have been, but the person we bought it from didn’t, use it much so whoever he got it from probably did what I like the most is little handy-dandy glass breaking carbide tipped glass breaker.
This is a micro tech and micro Tech’s like to have glass breakers on their knives, but both of those are carbide temptin, but we’ll get to this one in a little bit, it’s a little bit of a different life anyways guys. This thing is pretty cool. To look at it, it’s it’s really really beat-up I mean I noticed from the picture and i’m still new to my gear. Even I noticed it’s like holy mackerel. It is missing steel, it has been sharpen and resharpen and research really the age of this thing in its a low production numbered Microtech, so call my lead, keep on to call it ultra tech, but to SOCOM elite manual action from 2006.
I was like this thing’s awesome, even those really beat to hack, I kind of wanted a high-end beat to hack night and make no mistake some of you guys out there who are like, oh, that thing’s, probably worth like $ 0. This thing is still worth quite a bit because micro, tech, so calm elites are average around three to four hundred dollars, something this old is like. I mean this was no longer foreigner dodging so beat up, but these things are still very expensive names.
I think before before we wrap this up. The only other thing I don’t like about this thing. Besides the tip up carry is the locking mechanism. Actually, the liner actually hurts your thumb. If you can coil back, if you do it a lot, it will kind of hurt. Your lock is actually will dig into your thumb a little bit over time that kind of rubs it a little raw other than that so life. You don’t play with it too much, so it doesn’t have a lot of play factor in that way, but other than that – and I will say just a quick final note on this – the the lockup is still perfect, there’s absolutely no up down or left/right claimant.
In that lock system, so that’s a real testament to an 11 year old micro tech. That’s been through hell. Thank you guys, it’s at least been through something either that are really crazy. Abusive night knife beating oh no gone like it’s gone through abuse until micro tech. You guys make some really awesome knives that can take just insane abuse and that’s a line. I lost not known known for being strong, so this one is my now manual brush, so this girl carried this for all summer.
She got it wet inside and these spring. So in case you guys don’t know the barrage, it’s generally a spring assist knife, and so the spring in there got rusted out. So when I took some wd-40 to clean out the pivot and make it better because it was running real slow. If you guys noticed in some of the later articles of this being featured, it was running real, slow and it just was not kicking out because a general benchmade spring assist or auto should kick out like that.
He should kick out with all Martin Stern wants and this thing was anemic, and so I took some WD for you, try and clean it up, make it better get some of the gunk out of there and it actually broke the string broke. So I think I’m going to be returning this one to benchmade for a replacement on that also, here’s the springs are stripped. That’s why it couldn’t open it to clean it off ya, wan na screws, aside, krishna and so anyways for now.
For the moment being this will probably return to being a spring assist, but for now it’s actually I’m you know give fairness. This is a very, very smooth, very, very smooth manual folder, but this is a manual bench made barage. So going back to this knife, I really like it. I didn’t carry it much, oh and now it’s locking up, but that’s the only other issue. That’s the flaw this but anyways. I didn’t really carry this knife a whole lot for too long.
I can get it to deploy again. I didn’t really carry it a whole lot. It was a good knife, but I didn’t really really really love it. The ergonomics are just fine, its overall, a really good utility knife, but I don’t know I just ended up liking. My other knives that I would get in just not really carrying this one. I also after a time really dislike to the spring, assist, because I think the spring it made a harder to put it away.
That is true. I did find that it’s actually easier to handle. Now that’s a manual. This was my high end. Beater, you know anyways, yes, I did especially, maybe that’s why I thought the Gerber was such trash too, and it fell apart easily because I was just really hard on knives. I didn’t really know how to take care of them as well. So I am afraid I kind of screwed this knife up and it’s all my fault, but whatever it’s like I’ve learned my lesson, but it’s still a good utility knife.
It’s not the most. Pretty it’s not the most functional as you can, as you saw. It definitely locks up now, but it will probably when it was a spring assist. It was easier to deploy, but it was harder to put away. I don’t know it just needs, it just needs some a little TLC, but it’s still a really good beater. So I enjoyed carrying it for all the time that I did carry it yeah. I also didn’t like the fact that this screw on this side stripped out and it seems like the blade, is over heat treated, so those didn’t really like it.
What makes you say it was over heat-treated it’s harder than has to actually sharpen it, and I have a handful of 154cm blades on this table like this one, this one, this one, there’s probably there’s another one here, that’s 154cm. I think, but if not else then – and I so I have some like comparisons of sharpening things and this one is substantially harder – the shock that these other ones, I’ve necessarily sharpened.
So if I have sharpened these both of these before and this one’s substantially harder to shards, it’s pretty good though it does, but it is harder to sharpen that is anyways forget stropping. I tried so now on to one of my other really favourite knives and a favorite of most people on this EDC planet is the Spyderco paramilitary 2, and this is an awesome knife. I loved it. I got it, of course, because everyone seemed to be ranting and raving on like it should not try this thing out, and it is a really great Spyderco.
This was my first Spyderco and what really led me to loving spider codes, because it’s just such a well put together knife, I loved the interesting lock. I loved everything about it. The s30v blade holds an edge really well, and overall, it’s just a great night. It’s it does everything you wanted to do how you want it to do. For the most part, I will see the only problem – and this is just a running theme with all spider codes is the tips are just very thin and very delicate.
So you don’t want to do any prying or hard work with the tips, because they will always snap, especially in these powder metal Steel’s, because these powdered metals are really really they’re, really really Steph. They don’t like to bend, but I really love the knife. It’s it’s great knife and it finds its way into my pocket more than other knives, so more than other knives. Actually, honestly, that is true.
I kind of traded up the benchmade ROG and I was going for the cévennes and I carried the spends for a while, but next thing I knew I was carrying the paramilitary 2 and I’m actually really pleased with the primarily military two. I saw the difference immediately between this and the barrage. It was a lot easier to handle for me and it was easier to do everyday tasks with it and cut with even sharpen and strop it and number things I’m going to be running the Centofanti for a while, but I’ll probably end up coming back to this Puppy right here, if he doesn’t want to commandeer it, probably one of my favorite worker knives.
Honestly I’ve grown really attached to it. So you can see I can make my Spyderco, but this is like an exceptional. This is this is the best of all of them. I must say, and I’ve been happy with it – just been a really good knife and I was a little bit against it at first, like I said I don’t like the blacked-out blades, but that’s pure cosmetics. It has nothing to do with the actual awesomeness. This one’s.
Actually pretty unique because at the DLC finish, so the black blade doesn’t just wear off it doesn’t and there’s no serrations, I mean if there have been serrations on it. I would’ve been like you yeah, I’m not going to use it. Just like this poor thing right here, okay, so that’s the p.M. Now on to the Reata event horizon, which is this knife. Now we were discussing another article that this thing’s a little bit hard to deploy when it gets cold, because this thing’s all metal.
But this is the UV aught a event horizon, and this is another pretty new addition. Overall, I really like anyways guys, like I was saying if I were to it’s just not my knife of choice. If I were to go for an automatic I’d, go for this one instead because it’s lighter and it has a cleaner blade, even if it is cheaper, but as you guys as I’m going to demonstrate in a moment these both fire about the same so so anyways Guys, that’s that’s that button locks and everything, but yeah um, I’m just really not I’m just really not um a huge fan of the yeah afk.
But that’s that’s! That’s not that’s just me style. So now on to my personal favorite. This is kind of like a grill knife. For me, too, this was the night that I really really wanted for a very long time and it’s once again all these auto knives they really freak they get frigid. You guys can see that on that first deploy it actually failed to go fully into action. It is sluggish right now, cuz this thing is ice, cold and once again, the grease and oils that go into these autos to make them fire.
So fast are the same things that I’m not killing them in the cold, but this is a micro, tech, ultra tech, and this is a try grip one. I really wanted to try grip because I actually one of those weirdos I’d like to try grip but um, not everyone does apparently, but I really liked this knife and it’s just been a grill knife for me. I really wanted an ultra tech for a very long time and I was able to get one.
I was like awesome, so this is a micro tech, ultratech, tri grip, I’d like to try grab more and it’s no TF as well. So this is also my first OTF. I really want ot F she’s, probably going to try and tell you a story about a avenge made infidel put this thing down because other than there’s just being a really great everyday carry knife. I mean this is one of those knives that it has to be a second kind of cool for you, and I told him I was like I swear if this ends up in your leg, I’m grounding you from that.
Wrapping you in bubble wrap and it’s going to be mine and you’re, never touching it out the front ever again. It’s so far, he’s been very good about not putting it in his leg, going on anyways, that’s the story and it’s a little humiliating, but I think even the best need to fall down a little bit. But I don’t I don’t I’m not a huge fan of the outs of fronts. I mean I think, they’re cool and all, but it’s like they really are not functional enough.
For my taste, I mean besides having a glass breaking and that’s kind of legit. I would really like – and I have to had one of those but the beater but anyways guys. I think it’s cool and I’m glad that he’s really happy with it and I’ll keep you updated. If it suddenly disappears from the face of the earth. It’s because he did something stupid with it, but in fairness, he’s not the only one to have done that the lady at the counter was saying people put them up to their palms, and oh man, anyways guys that stay out the friends.
Don’t worry yeah so now onto another one of my favorite, these top three, no, like it’s probably pretty obvious, but these tops are obviously some of my really really favorites like I love most of these as well, but the next one is the most expensive area spensive. These are all like $ 300 knives buy. This is zt0 552 CF and it’s a big nice. This is actually the largest excluding these knives. This is actually that one too it’s larger than that one.
This is a very big knife, but this is the zt0 52 and carbon fiber and it is an awesome, fantastic flipper. It is just really really smooth flipper, really awesome knife. I really like it. I also one of my things that I wanted was a carbon fiber knife or a knife that had at least a little bit of carbon fiber on it in this one, of course, has a full carbon fiber scale on it, so that makes it really lightweight, but It also has that carbon fiber touch that I really like, because personally I really like carbon fiber, and so my hands are getting so close.
I can’t really do in like so anyways. This is a really awesome. Knife has a full titanium and then a full carbon fiber handle scales on it and, of course, once again s35vn on the blade and just a really really big knife. It’s like tactical, awesome, really love this thing. I’ve been carrying, it haven’t, had a super long time, but it’s another night. I’ve been carrying pretty regularly pretty religiously.
This is actually our newest knife and I thought it was cool I actually when when he was able to get us like yeah, let’s do it. So you guys know we kind of like carbon fiber. I if I were to carry a big knife, because it is so it’s it’s kind of lightweight it’s not as chunky as like the Reata or the egg. I mean for a being a such a huge knife. It is actually light weight and it’s slender. So if I were to carry a bigger knife, it would probably be this one and I actually I’m really impressed with this knife.
I mean it’s what I thought it was beautiful over the pictures. I saw it’s even better in person. I am really excited to get more experience with this knife, and I know he is too as like. It is brand spanking new. We just did we just get it in yesterday yesterday, so brand-new, but anyways guys. This is. This. Is a nice little knife, I’m really excited to get more accustomed to it, and I know he is too and before you guys asked it’s not actually back cold outside.
It’s just we’ve been out here for quite a while filming so our hands, one of them handling these knives. Plus we’ve been doing this for 30 plus minutes, and these are oddities our metal or metal. So it is getting cold. So we’re going to wrap this up here pretty soon now to the classic, really expensive high-end knife, and that is the Chris Reeve knife Sebenza large, the bends at 21. This is, of course, full titanium, just kind of like this one and yeah.
It’s been a really great night. This is one of the knives I’ve had for a very very long time. I think around three years now and overall for the past three years, it’s been a fantastic performer. The only thing – and I have to talk to Chris Reeves about this – that I don’t like is the titanium tip clip bent out a little bit. So it’s retention is a little bit lost and I don’t really know do it’s a titanium clip.
I know what these steel ones you just like, put them in a vise and you bend them back. I don’t necessarily wan na do that to this one cuz, I don’t know how that won’t. Work might do the same thing but anyways. This is a really awesome night, I’m putting it down because it’s once again very cold, just like all these others, and just a really great knife, though, be careful cuz. I know the only thing that was what I was going to say.
The only thing I dislike about this is that the frame lock does not have an overt stop, which means it could be bent out and extended. That would not be good while they’re. In that I mean I haven’t carried it a whole lot, but I carried it a little bit and I really like it. I, like the blade, shape I like how it cuts it’s it’s hefty, I’m not going to deny it, but it’s it’s not that it’s not as have you this one.
I also think it’s funny it’s idaho made, which is where I just was, but this is a a really good knife and from what I know it’s it’s pretty decent. So who do you think I’m just kidding? It’s actually awesome. It’s not! Actually. You do really love that knife quite a bit now once again, because it’s such an older knife. For me, I have a lot of experience so when it comes to these knives – and I don’t have as much experience on a little bit more eager to choose these kinds of knives over that one, because I’ve had that one for years and years I want to Put some more use on these other knives anyways guys hold on hold on when I first met met, met Matthew.
He had this Night Man, so I kind of like this one, the best, maybe out of all of these, because when I see this knife I just remember when we first met, he was showing off all his knives and I was starting to really get out of The ignorant of knives – and you can shrug it off, but it’s important to me anyways. This is a pretty awesome knife and I think we’re going to do the buck in the next article yeah, because we need to wrap this up because it’s been running long.
We’re going to be doing a part two to this, explaining going over the folding sheath knife and then all the net knives, so those are not the pocket knives per se, so anyways guys. This is part 1 of this vlog collection article, but hope you guys have enjoyed it and as always, guys, god bless and we’re out.
Knives and daggers are awesome! Plain and simple, right? Let me say, I enjoy my dagger collection with a little music playing in the background.
Newsfeed could be on the mobile newsfeed or the desktop newsfeed.
Okay, it could be on the right-hand column. It could be on Instagram Instagram stories. It could be. You know a article, it could be on the audience Network, There’s so many different places that you can go through and show your ad Okay And I want to break down and show you guys. What’s worked really well for me And then also what you guys should consider doing with your business right now, real quick guys, If you guys want my hundred percent free Facebook Ads mini-course, it’s a complete run-through of the Facebook Ads manager.
It’s really it’s really for beginners! A complete run-through of the Facebook Ads manager. We show you guys how to set up the Facebook pixel, all the tracking, so basically a quick overview of setting up all of your Facebook ad campaigns just drop a comment down below give this article a thumbs up, and I will share that with you. Alright. So, let’s jump into this Okay, So when we’re going through and we’re talking about placements, whether we want to show the newsfeed or if we want to show the right-hand column or Instagram or the stories or whatever it Is we’re going to go through and we’re going to create a new campaign.
All right, so, let’s hit start over here Now, based on what your marketing objective is Like. If you want article views or if you want leads, or just people to click to your website or whatever it might be, different Marketing objectives can work better, depending on where you place them right. So I just want to give you a quick run-through, though, in this article of What’s worked best for me on pretty much all these different marketing objectives as a whole.
So for this one, since we’re talking about Placements this marketing objective, Let’s just pick traffic for this demo right here and we’ll hit continue And so at the ad set level. Okay. So this is that second step and then the third one you’re going to go through and actually create the ad the actual, creative Right. This is where you’re going to go through and choose which placement? Okay, whether you want to show the news, feed the right-hand column, The audience network on Instagram and the stories on the new Instagram news feed on mobile desktop.
You have all these different options and this office view also, where you choose your audience right now, I’m not going to get into you the audience targeting all that stuff of like who we should show these ads to that’s all in that And as mini-course facebook, as Mini course, So if you guys want that drop a comment down below give the article a thumbs up – and I will share that with you – but let’s come down here to Placements okay now by default they say automatic placements recommended Okay and I don’t always recommend that.
Okay, now, Let’s bring this down, You have a few different audiences right now, when you’re, targeting your warm audience. Okay, Now your warm audience is people who have already visited your website They’re on your email list. They basically have interacted with your Facebook page, So they know who you are Right when it’s that type of group, That’s typically a lot smaller audience. Usually it’s, like you know tens of thousands of people or, if you’ve been doing business for a long time.
It may be in the you know, one hundred two hundred thousand people, but that’s where I’m a would use all Placements. Okay, because they already are familiar with you. So if they see you on Instagram and the stories or the news feed or on Facebook ranking column, there are at ready, like they’re, going to their attentions, going to jump to you and what you’re doing right now, if you’re going to a cold Audience completely cold Out – and they have no idea who you are They’ve, never seen you They’re never heard of you Nothing and you’re trying to get their attention.
What I like to do typically, is go to edit placements and I Usually like to start out with just the Facebook news feeds right here: okay, So what I’ll do is you can see? They’re all checked. I come over here and I uncheck all these. I uncheck the messenger, the audience network, I uncheck Instagram, unchecked instant articles, all of these different ones – and I just start out with Facebook news feeds right now.
This is historically what I’ve seen work best for my business and a lot of other people’s businesses. However, Just because a lot of people are starting to focus on the newsfeed now The the cost of generating leads in the cost of doing business, It can be a little bit higher it’s going up because it’s kind of like the supply and demand right like if You’re going down A freeway and they’ve got like let’s say a hundred billboards on this 50 mile stretch.
Okay and There’s 200 people Go through and show their advertisement on these hundred billboards. Okay, the cost is obviously going to go up and it’s going to go up. Go up go up to the point where there’s not 200, there’s now maybe 150, and then, if there’s that there’s going to still go up to the point where you know They’re leveling out right that 100 And so that’s kind of what’s starting to happen.
There’s so many small businesses, So many people trying to advertise in the news feeds and that’s why I, oh I’ve forgotten check this one. That’s why it’s it’s good to go through and test out some of these different placements. So the second one that I like to go through and test out is the Instagram newsfeed. Okay, now, typically, What I like to do is go through and create a different ad set okay, So what that means is, I would go through.
Let’s say I’m going through and creating this this one with the news feeds I would Continue. I’ve set my budget and I would continue and create the ad, But I would go through and I would create a completely different ad set targeting the same exact audience. Okay, because then we just we can get a really good split test. Okay, So targeting the same exact audience. So we can really know which one converts better and instead of clicking news feeds We for Facebook, We’re going to do the Instagram newsfeed, So we’re going to uncheck that and you can see we’re just targeting the Instagram newsfeed Okay, so I’ve seen I’ve seen different results.
I’ve seen varying stuff, like so sometimes Instagram back in the day. Their advertising platform I didn’t feel like was that great, because the targeting stuff was a little bit off. I feel like it’s gotten a lot better, so you can go through and start targeting more with Instagram and in the news feeds and Then, if you go through and you find out later on, you’re like well – Oh It’s only like it like.
So, let’s go back and let’s say we’re targeting on Facebook, bad as replacement And you go through and you’re. Looking at your stats, Okay and I can – I can shoot another article for that – a little bit later, how to go through and look at your stats. And Let’s say you see, most of your opt-ins in the Facebook newsfeed are on mobile as opposed to desktop, So but more people are opting in like scrolling through on their phone, as opposed to scrolling around on desktop.
Now, Back a few months ago, the mobile newsfeed for Facebook and the desktop newsfeed, Those were actually separate that you could check, but they’re, not anymore. They combined them together. However, what we can do is come up here to Device types and we click on all devices which is recommended, and I typically recommend that as well. But if you’re, seeing like hey mobile, is working so much better than desktop, All you got to do is come over here and click mobile, only Okay, so you’re only showing it but then you’re, obviously you’re going to have to come through and uncheck.
All of these. So you’re only doing on Facebook, news feeds and it’s only showing up in the mobile feed Okay, so it’s not showing up on desktop or vice versa. So you could go through change this to desktop. But as I recommended story now, I would go through and do all the vices All right so guys. That’s basically a quick rundown, So Start out with Facebook. News feeds see how that converts and then, if you want to go through and expand and do some split testing and see some other Different placements, I would test out Instagram news feeds and then you can go see in your analytics, Whether it’s mobile that works better Or even or even desktop right and then another thing that I would do is just go through and and test things out, because your business is Different than anyone else’s business right, And so you might find that, like hey Messenger, messenger, just works amazingly well.
For me, right, like you, just might find that that just works super well. So, like basically messenger ads, you can kind of see this over here When you’re, going through into your Facebook mobile app into the messenger. A little spot like the third one down It’ll be an ad and I’ve seen that actually worked fairly well for certain ads. But keep in mind that the ad creative, so when you get to this next step down here and you create a new ad, Just know that it should probably be a little bit different than the ad that you’re showing on your Facebook newsfeed All right.
So anyway, guys, hopefully that was helpful for you guys kind of break down the different placements and What you should try. First, if you’ve got a small budget like if you got ten to fifteen dollars for twenty dollars a day, I would start out with the Facebook news feeds and then even merge into the Instagram news feeds. If you’ve got a bigger budget, if you’re spending, you know A thousand two thousand dollars per day or even more, then you can obviously have a little bit more of a budget To start experimenting with some of these other ad placements right.
So, anyway, guys this article is helpful, obviously Give it a thumbs up, drop a comment down below. Let me know what you thought. Let me know anything that you know you’ve experienced different placements that work extremely well for your business. I always like to experiment. I always like to try anything So I’d love to hear your feedback. I got ta tell ya. I’ve been back planning for a little while now and last weekend. I just didn’t get to the plan with me, unfortunately, and there’s just no natural light when I get home just because it’s now fall time in Minnesota, so yeah but anyway it is now Sunday into October, but I’m still going to plan out this week.
So you guys can see what I did and you know read all the pretty things so anyway, we are planning for the week of Monday September 24 through Sunday, September 30 and right after I’m done filming this bad boy. I am filming the next one as well. So anyway, um I pulled out a couple of wha she’s this one I don’t know where I got from, and I believe this one I got from my shop and yeah, so I’m just going to go with it PS.
My fingers are so dry and kind of just jacked up because of the weather change. Recently, it’s been really kind of irritating and I touch paper all day at work, so it’s even more irritating because of that, so it’s just kind of kind of a bar. So my hands are kind of chapped and kind of peeli. Oh, I don’t like the way that looks so yeah. Sorry, if my hands look a little weird today, alright, there we go.
Maybe I can line it up, Wow good job Emily. Sometimes I can’t line up my washi properly, but oh whoops, if I didn’t do these plan with me, articles it’d be a lot easier if the actual paper was a little closer to my body. But then, if it was closer to my body, you guys wouldn’t actually see it on camera, not that I’m the best at putting things in the frame. Clearly, if you guys have been reading my blog for a while, sometimes I forget to do that and I’m like.
Oh great, the last 20 minutes have been out of the frame: sweet, good, youtuber, Emily all right, so that washi is down like grab my Christian designs, binder here, alright and I’m going to pull these, which are one of my favorite stickers. These are the K ad zero, two nine six four, they are like the little movie placard ones. I use these from my articles, so, let’s put in what I put up this week, alright needed to go into a second sheet here, because I am done with a full sheet.
If y’all been reading my blog for a while, you know that it makes me so excited to finish up a whole sheet of stickers, it kind of like. I know some people don’t like it, but for me it’s like really really validating that. You know I spent my money on this and it is now realized that I actually needed all of these. You know I don’t know, maybe I’m weird like that, but it makes me happy alright and then Friday I put up my October budget.
Alright, alright, I can never really remember the times that I was at work just because I’ve been staying a lot later most days, especially this week. This was the last week I had with my coworker that was training me, so I’m pretty sure I stayed a little bit later than normal, but that’s alright I’ll just kind of put in some time and go from there. So I put in my time alright – and let me dig into some of my coffee break planner stickers.
Let’s see, maybe yellow, could be a good one. I’m trying to figure out like what colors to do know. It may be pink as well. I don’t know I’m just kind of working it out today. Alright, let’s do let’s do a yellow today, that’s kind of a fun one, alright, so, let’s put in the work situation. This is like all coffee break planner stuff today. So, Oh five of these stickers ooh next week, I’m going to get all satisfied all right and then these are from Catherine’s shop as well.
These cute little desk things I’m trying to make my office space at work kind of cute. I will have a article coming up, hopefully very soon, about some of the things that I purchased for my new office at work, so I’ve got lots of really cute things. Just you know kind of make it your own you’re there all the time. So why the heck not right so anyways um yeah, that article should be coming up fairly soon.
I believe this is going to be uploaded first, though I’m not a how-to percent sure, but I’m pretty sure, but unfortunately I am not really able to take photos of my cubicle at work for security reasons, so I won’t be able to share my actual cube with You guys, but I will be able to share like some of the products and stuff that I am going to bring to my office so anyways I will hopefully have that up in the future for y’all I’m going to put in some meal things.
So, let’s see here I’ll put in Panera oops come on. Oh my gosh, this one’s like not cooperating properly. Oh there, it goes it just did not want to be friendly today, okay, Panera right here. What else did I do? I usually have like a ton of stuff at the bottom over here. Okay, I’m going to leave this one out because I’m not really sure where I’m going to put this one for like Friday night, I did a whole lot of eating out this week.
I feel like I’m kind of all over the board today, but that’s all right, we’ll get this figured out. Let’s go and order cuz this it’s like stressing me out so um. Actually, during the day, I did a email that I had to take care of. I kind of did that during like lunchy time ish, something like that. That’s just like a little follow up situation, yeah and then, after that, I ran to the peel box. Alright, typically do that on my way home, because it’s on my way home my public mailbox, which isn’t really a P o box, but my public mailbox is not really near where I live, but it’s the closest I can get so we go for it.
Alright Q box is done. Alright. I also got Amazon delivery day, which was exciting, so I did a face mask which I’m trying to get better at, but a lot of you guys have way way busier lives than I do, but for some reason it’s just one of those things in life where I’m like I just don’t have time. I clearly have time. I just don’t make the time. I think that’s part of my issue with a lot of things in life.
I think that’s a lot of our issues. To be honest, so so, let’s see Tuesday they sent my brother document. So let’s put that in edited and then this is, I don’t read a ton of television, but I do read that show here we go. This is what I want. Let’s see here there is that you know I try to put things away as I go when I’m doing this, it’s like all off camera, but I don’t. I should really get better at that.
Okay, I did the post office, which was good. I also filled orders on Wednesday as well the post office. I did the very tail end of the day. All right, I had to create an invoice that done all right and package orders. These are all the fun things I did that day. Oh, except I did move some inventory into my new office, which I’m going to be sharing to you guys. Hopefully so nish um haven’t fully completed my new office yet, but it is coming up, hopefully very soon so yeah, I’m I’m really really excited about it.
All right, I got these cute little like washi rolls all right, so I’m Thursday we did a little happy hour thing for a co-worker. That was fun. I didn’t stay very long, but it was still fun. Nonetheless, you use one of these at all guys all right. I had a meeting all right, so that is that okay Wow come on. I’ve got like way too many things going on at the moment. Well, I just searched my sticker arsenal for quite a while looking for a particular kind of sticker, and I don’t have it so we’re just going to go with this.
I was lucky enough to be a guest on the planner lifestyle podcast and I’m looking for like a podcast occur or something like headphones or something. I don’t have anything in any of the samplers that I have, but I listen to all my podcasts on my phone. So we’re going to go with this, this is going to be my little icon situation, so yeah so planner lifestyle podcast was released on Friday, a September 28th, and this was going to this was part one.
There are two parts actually they’re both up right now. So I will link them down below if y’all are interested in checking them out, but yeah, so it was really fun all right and so the rest of the evening I had ended up going to the Justin Timberlake concert, which is kind of nuts. I was not expecting to go, but my friend over at life’s organized chaos head texted me in the middle of the day and was like hey.
I know this is like a real long shot, but would you be interested in going to Justin Timberlake with me tonight and I’m like well yeah kind of like you know, so we chatted about it. A little bit turns out. One of the gals that was supposed to go couldn’t go anymore, cuz of an illness so anyways. It ended up working out pretty slick, if I don’t say so myself, so I need all the stickers alright. So first thing I did was we went to Kirby’s, which is a restaurant really close to the Excel? Was it the Excel yeah the Xcel Energy Center? So we went there? Oh my gosh.
I cannot get the sticker off and met up with Jody, and then we went to the concert, which was like an all-night situation. I did leave a little bit early. I like to leave a little early, because I had this really fun thing called anxiety in crowd. So I don’t like to stay there too late. So I skipped just the last couple of songs and it ended up being just fine with me, so anyways, but Jody had other people there with her too.
So I wasn’t like the only one or anything, but anyway I had a great time and it was really really fun so anyway, yes, Justin Timberlake. That was really good times change my air filter and I did that on Saturday, clearly winning it life change. The air filter ooh – I didn’t finish my desk, put on. Let me pull this out cuz, it’s just there all right, I’m going to used I’m trying to like use up stickers.
It’s like the main goal in life today. Alright, so my desk took quite a long time set up office. Yes, the desk situation took a long time to do, but that’s alright. Here we go it’s a cute little thing there and also I had the chair to do which the chair, I said, a lot of four-letter words. While I was putting that chair together. I’ll just put it that way, but um there was nothing actually like wrong with the chair once it was together, but the holes were not drilled properly, unfortunately, so that was kind of a pain in the butt and then for the rest of the day.
I really just was in the office um and then on Sunday. I did all the article edits, so I edited basically all day yeah, let’s be real. I didn’t start really editing until like then, and to be honest, I don’t know what else I did that day. It says air filter here, but I know I did it on Saturday, but I don’t know these are all the things I edited. Maybe I’ll write it in make it look more exciting than it really was okay, so that is it for this week.

Com, and this particular clip right here is a great session where Cory talks about something that it’s mysterious for a lot of Artists and artists asks him about LinkedIn, but not just you know, regular LinkedIn. How do I build my profile? How do I network on linked in and do it effectively, and I must say, co-lead ROPS, some gems, and this one y’all check it out book digital book.
I think it’s master music networking online balint, Shawn Shawn was talking about LinkedIn so like when they’re like in my experiences using LinkedIn, like it like right off the bat. Of course it’s meant for like professionals and shit, and they were talking about the part where there’s like ANR’s in the search and like what would be like the best way to like set up a LinkedIn page for your personal brand.
Like would you have to make it look, I guess corporate type stuff or like do you make it like to the style of how like you’d, have your Instagram or Twitter know? You were definitely wanting to be a lot more businesses, so LinkedIn you got to think about the type of people that only fan they. Don’t they don’t care about your cool pictures. They don’t care about. You know to an extent like. Are you the type of person where you know where we can do a lot of b2b and I feel pretty comfortable and have your faith in it? So it’s just a matter of I mean from artists standpoint.
I would say how on Instagram, you would kind of show off a lot more of, like your personalities, like what’s your fantasy on the back end or something like that, it would just be communicating information to these people posting information. So, ladies people know you have like a solid understanding of like business, so maybe doing like small case studies on certain things. You’ve done slight, build yourself out or even down to kind of have any like portfolio style.
So the main thing you wan na do about optimizing. Your page, you wan na clean profile, picture something professional or something clean. It does have to be about you and a student ID, but you don’t want to be like you know, like you post it up, you know a chief chief financial officer of Atlanta came across your profile. He may not be a NRB. He knows A & R they’re, editing right, but he’ll be more likely to communicate you because you look like someone and then, of course you want any accolades anything there’s anything that makes you stand out.
You want to list it on your page listing skills like you wanted to be listed, the exact same way. You would do it as if you were going for a job interview just for like a regular Bobby just wants to tell you towards, like the kind of things are like people in the music industry care about um. But a lot of that. To be honest with you like a lot of those guys, they never do business right. Linkedin is the place where business professionals come meet with each other to potentially talk about business stuff.
We’re back to. We want to know how we make money so even just like reaching out to people. It’s always. Examples like a portfolio here here are here. Are my here my three best marketing campaigns around myself. This is what I was able to generate. This is the type of attention I was able to generate. This is the numbers I was able to get the viewership. I was able to bring jam to start with others retained how much money I was able to make up over all that stuff and then packaging neatly like a prototype and then just people when you come across people who wait.
Yes, use that to kick off the conversation, because people meet them, they’re, usually pretty open to talking. As long as you have something to talk about. What’s going to make you stand out from the parties that are reaching out to these professionals on LinkedIn? How can you help me? What can you do for me, you’re, going to be rich mouth down with couples in which you can do for them? Like look man, if we people examples of work, we able to prove your work ethic and just the results.
If you generated from it, I’m a producer. Okay, we’ll prove it. What did you do? How can you show me that stuff at that point like would you present, like like people on the press, any one that, but I would say, have ways that you’ve been able to generate traffic for yourself and then just like any accolades or anything like notable? That has happened since you’re, going just have those tucked away we’ll have them on your profile, easy to do just like one-click get to it very easily.
There’s always like kind of have them stash the way we’re ready to send out to come across my tea, like it could finish this, for you, like you, know, that’s the kind of information anyone see, but a lot of people like most people are going to ask This I do, you have a website, do you have a PK? Do you have have something where I can see like no Cory nailed it one now we are like. It starts with the business mindset.
People are there to do business they’re there to do business connecting with other business professionals to do business, so you have to approach them like a business professional approaching them like. Oh, please go check out the link to my music and and all that stuff on LinkedIn is really setting yourself back in the same way, you approach people differently when they’re with their kids versus you know if they were just out by themselves or something like that.
That’s the same way, you need to think about LinkedIn right you’re, taking a different approach here. One of the big tips that I hope a lot of artists out with is just this right. You can find ANR’s on LinkedIn. You can find managers on LinkedIn. You can find people who work at Spotify Apple. All these good things on LinkedIn, however, using LinkedIn, sometimes to just prospect and find people is a great thing when you also take what you find and just reach out to those people on social media.
It’s an extra step. I know it’s a little bit harder right, a little bit more thumb labor, but at the end of the day you don’t have to worry about being good at communicating in that business fashion, particularly if you aren’t comfortable with that. Yet a good thing to do is once again find the people, because, when you find a and ours and if you use some of those processes in master music, networking online I’ll put a link to that in the description below of you.
Some of that stuff right you’ll be able to find people that you never even knew existed, but aren’t able to help you. But if you aren’t comfortable with actually speaking to those folks right, you need to make sure you reach out to them. Google them take their name and say whatever mark mathis Instagram. You know you found Martin Methodist, the A & R at Apple on LinkedIn, and then you go just basically Mark Mathis Instagram, maybe even A & R or music, or something like that in Google and you’ll.
Probably find his Instagram or his Twitter, or something super simple step now, when we talk about building your professional profile being keen on results and just showing your streaming numbers or something like that, or that the name of your label, if you, if you signed yourself right Having some of that information that poisons and positions you as a big super special professional, some of your brand partnerships – maybe some of the festivals that you perform that right.
This is almost like an EP k, but it’s not your apk this. This is your resume all right. This is that’s essentially what LinkedIn is it’s the resume and what makes me credible what says that I’m a business professional and shows that I am established. Many people have different things. So if you don’t feel like you have a lot and you aren’t impressive, don’t worry about that write what you have all that stuff can be updated as time goes on and once again you’re that worried about it.
You can just find the people on there and then you know reach out to them on LinkedIn. As a matter of fact, I have another article about certain prospecting that you can find on my blog type in brandman Sean LinkedIn. I’m sure that article a pop-up and then other than that, though that’s it. This is another episode of inside the network where we show you some artist sessions and other exclusive clips from brandman network.

I’ve, given you some fundamental principles of how to write good copy. Today, I’m going to share with you some techniques. For example, let’s begin by talking about the combination of features and benefits into what I call marketing statements when you do this, try as often as you can to lead with the benefit, because, after all, that’s what the prospect is really after the result that they can Get from buying your product and then you support the benefit with the feature that makes the benefit promise possible.
Second technique that I’d like to share with you right, 12 to 20 headlines for warm-up before you write the rest of your ad. Now don’t worry about the fact that can only use one of them in the ad itself. The words won’t go to waste. Nor will your effort, because you can use the headlines that you don’t use as the headline for subheadings and cross headings. There won’t be any waste, it’s a great exercise.
Technique number three use, adjectives: adverbs power, words and phrases to add punch to your copy, mmm and depth, and intrigue and excitement about the product. You’re representing technique number four, while you’re doing all that other stuff, don’t get all a D on me, use conversational language speaking. The first person use I and me instead of us and we and it and they, and in addition to that, speak in the vernacular of your audience, do they have a particular jargon, that’s unique to their industry or phrases to the type of person they are.
You want to speak the way they speak. Yo yo you get that y’all and now the next one keep words sentences and paragraphs short, but at the same time don’t fear long copy. Yes, you want the words, the sentences and the paragraphs to be short, but you’ve got to tell your whole sales story if you’re going to get them to take action. The more you well, the more you sell short word sentences in paragraphs, but make the copy exactly as it won’t as long as it needs to be, and then finally vary.
Your paragraph length, you can have one sentence paragraphs you could have paragraphs up to five lines, but never more than that. These are just some of the techniques we’ll have more in our next tips. But if you want to know more about copywriting, I suggest you get my copywriter checklist I’ll, give it to you free. All you have to do is click on the link in the dooblydoo and I’ll. Send it to you.
