Does YouTube really work for Business Marketing? The #WeAreSlam Show Episode 5

Today, I’r with Michael T, Johnson chief creative here at slam and we have a Pretty fun topic today we’re talking about YouTube, yeah and I think the fun Thing about YouTube is every time you get a camera out.

If there’s a kid Anywhere around they’re going to ask: is this going on YouTube? So that’s that’s been. My experience is not only that, but everybody wants to be A YouTube star right, it’s true, I you know they. We already know that YouTube. Is the number two most visited site just right behind Google? You know it’s the Second, behind Google again most visited search engine, but if anyone’s like well You know YouTube’s not necessarily relevant for my business.

Maybe it is Maybe it isn’t, but if you have kids, you know that they’re reading YouTube and So YouTube is going to be around for a long time. Yeah it’s it’s definitely not going. Anywhere and even like some of the big players in the social space, like Facebook Instagram, which is Facebook they’re, always still trying to catch up. To what YouTube’s doing on article as far as getting a user and keeping them for a Long time but uh but like you’re, saying the business case, if you’re a brand or a Business I mean you’re not going to be a YouTube star for the most part, unless You know you’re, you were some really really hard.

Have a great natural Charisma and you put a lot of money into it – right, Yeah, right but uh, but what you Can leverage is kind of like the SEO benefits being discoverable and kind of Boosting up your brand in some certain ways, so you know, I think, the way that Most businesses use YouTube is just as a place to host their articles, but with a Couple tweaks: you can take that hosting to make it work for you better with, like Some search engine stuff and things like that yeah, you know I find myself more Often than not, if it’s something that I, if it’s something that I’m trying to Figure out, you know I’d rather read a article than read yeah, that’s just the way.

My brain works, and so even if I don’t go to youtube To make that search, which sometimes I don’t I do it in Google, but that I just Clicked articles, yeah and so with Michael’s talking about Being discoverable, that’s what we’re talking about like creating article Content that people can discover what they’re searching for a solution to Whatever problem they’re, having that your brand can address yeah and I think The other huge benefit of YouTube like apart from that discoverability as There’s a whole ad platform behind YouTube that, like you said, like my kids, Are addicted to YouTube, they will binge read and binge read and binge read.

And that’s, usually the behavior people on YouTube is they’re not there to just Scroll through, like Facebook they’re there to read a lot of content and That’s an opportunity to serve some ads that are incredibly relevant to that Person, you know, because there’s so many people of all ages on YouTube, just Consuming and kind of just binging on content, it’s important as a brand to be There, like in pre-roll, you know, and so we know the average attention span – is 7 To 8 seconds right, yeah and so YouTube geniusly Right they they they did something pretty amazing.

They introduced Six-Second pre-roll ads, so it kind of fits right within that attention span. You know universe, and so what those ads allow you to do is when the person’s Getting ready, you know to read whatever it is: they’re getting ready to read. Like you can just hit them really quickly with something that’s super Exciting super engaging it’s six seconds just long enough to get some awareness.

And over time like, if you’re advertising, these six second articles to your your Ideal target market then they’re going to see these six second ads over and over And over again, and what’s going to happen, is that brand awareness is just going to Increase and so that’s a great way that we’ve seen to like introduce new Products new brands to kind of reinforce some of this brand recognition. You know With your target audience yeah and it works really well and especially works.

Really well because this is how I hear about the lol surprise, that toys for my Daughter, because every every uh every article she reades every few articles she Gets a she gets an advertisement for some new toy, so in a day and age when People don’t read commercials or really read a lot. Tv, this is like a great way to get awareness for your product. I don’t know How my kids find the toys they do, but apparently it’s just on YouTube.

This is True so the next thing to talk about with YouTube is you know, early on Besides the ads, we talked about this idea of creating good content that helps You get discovered and there’s been a big change to the YouTube YouTube. Algorithm and in the last year, so I mean this may not be super familiar to a lot. To a lot of people, but we put out fairly regular content on YouTube and for a While what YouTube was favoring was daily uploads and if, if you’re uploading, Content consistently daily, then like there was a greater chance of you being Seen but they’ve kind of flipped that so we’ve seen a change on the algorithm Where what YouTube favors is kind of this longtail keyword, so when you think About longtail keywords: this is what you’re, putting in a Google search when You’re trying to find something not only that but they’re favoring, older catalogs Of content, so if you can consistently put out things that have to do with your Brand that people are searching for you’re going to get found and it’s going to Not just help you on YouTube, but like help you on your website as well, yeah And you know if, if you want to dig into the SEO reasons, why they’re doing that It’s probably because, like people figured out how to gain the system, Yeah and post stuff really quickly like new blogs, yeah and it’s spammy stuff, Right and so now, favoring my assumption.

It’s favoring, the older catalogs, the Ones that haven’t been banned from YouTube, there’s kind of this built-in Credibility and yeah – and you know so that’s what Google or YouTube once so You know we’re not really going to dig into the SEO like do’s and don’ts for YouTube. Or just in general, we’re probably to do SEO in a different show yeah, but this Longtail idea is just in a nutshell: you know if you’re trying to rank in your Youtube search results for like red widgets everyone and their brother is Probably trying to rank for that too, so it’s really very difficult.

That’s what’s! Called like a short it’s a short word, so it’s a short phrase: a longtail keyword, Is something that red ridge widgets that I can use in my Buick? You know that’s a Longer phrase it’s probably not searched very often, but if that’s something that Your brand then optimize for that phrase, yeah and You’ll, be you know in the top five yeah, not only that, but you’ll be more Relevant to the viewer, that’s searching for that which is really important.

Because one of the things that we’ve seen in the back into YouTube this year, Is that if you’re not super familiar with YouTube back in, they used to just Show you like how many views your article got, which is good information, but what They change this here. Is they show you how many impressions your article got and How many people clicked on that article? So if you do what you’re talking about not Red widgets, but whatever it was red widgets for Buick and and that’s Incredibly relevant to that person, that’s searching that then that article is Going to get a higher percentage of click-through on the topic and when it Gets a higher percentage of click-through, it’s shown to more people.

So it just kind of compounds on itself. You, you use this information to to give Things that are more relevant to the person searching and that always works Good for you in the long run, but if the article is relevant to what they clicked. On and they read it, which that’s, how YouTube is going to determine whether it’s Relevant or not, then it’s going to get shown to more and more people, so yeah Yeah, it’s simple, so I think the other interesting thing about this is so we’re.

Talking about creating like longtail keywords and creating relevant content, But the one thing that you have to do is make sure you get the attention of People and that they actually click on it to begin with, so you could make some Great content, but if nobody is able to find it or nobody sees it, it doesn’t do Any good for you so so there’s two very important things. One of those is making A clickable title for your article, so we talked about this like keywords, but if You get really spammy with a ton of keywords.

You got to remember a human Being is going to look at that title, not a computer yeah! That’s a good point. Because when a lot of people think about optimizing to show up higher and their Search results like on a YouTube they’re thinking about like how many keywords: Kind of stuff into the title and think about just the way that you’ve engaged With YouTube you’re not going to click on a title; That has a million keywords in it: you’re going to kick click on a title that answers The question that you’re asking and does so in a way that prove That it’s relevant, it’s authentic, a human has written it.

So don’t try to Keyword stuff, it’s not worth it yeah so and then the other part of getting People to click on your article is the thumbnail, and this is like arguably, the Most important part to get someone to want to click on your article so like if You’re looking, if I’m doing a search on Google, I’m probably looking on the words Like what the title is, but if I’m on YouTube that that thumbnail is what’s Going to entice me to click, I came across some really interesting information.

About like how the machine learning and AI and everything behind Google and Youtube’s algorithm on those on those thumbnails is and honestly it’s kind of Creepy and it’s weird, but it’s also fascinating so so Google has this thing: Called cloud vision – and this is like this – is the machine learning AI behind Like photos in Google, so if you have a let’s say I have a picture of a person. In a photo – and let’s assume this photo has no words on it at all.

Like I didn’t Put the title: it’s just a picture of a person, maybe they’re doing something or Holding something so what cloud vision does? Is it takes that article? It analyzes The emotion of the person’s face, so it knows the emotion for one it creates a Tag list for what’s happening in that photo, so we talked about keywords and Like longtail keywords, it creates its own list of keywords and tags based on What’s in that photo, it finds the person it pulls their identity from online and It finds all the websites where that person is or all the websites that are Associated with that, so it also creates all these matches for, where related Contents found on the web and for one that just tells you how important those Thumbnails are but also to me it’s just like kind of geeky, fascinating yeah.

You Know like as you’re going through all the things that it does it. You know they Say and the reason why I say they say is because there is no list of what Google Or YouTube actually does anywhere right like this is all just based on Experience and based on like people running tests over and over and over Again to see what works and what doesn’t like you search, and so we look at these Findings and then we’re able to determine you know what some of the best Practices that we should be doing, and so when you talk about like how they Analyze the photo to determine who it is, and then they go out to the web and find Out, where else that person is then it? I immediately am thinking about social Yeah, because we know, especially on the Google side, that social plays a major Role in SEO value, and so the more interaction, the more engagement you have.

On your social pages, it’s going to tie back to your website and boost your website. And so that’s how they’re doing it like they’re, drawing these connections and so If you’re an influencer and you’ve never been on it YouTube before, but you’re You’re known everywhere, I bet you’re going to get a bigger bump. Yeah just Because of the sheer volume of stuff that you have out there yeah, so that’s Pretty cool yeah: it is it’s pretty crazy how everything is connected.

Well, this Has just been an amazing topic that you know we wanted to just scratch: the Surface but I think we actually did a little bit of a deep dive into some of Just like YouTube and search engine optimization for article yeah, but you know Really just scratch the surface yeah. 10 Topic Ideas For Real Estate Agents – Realtor Marketing

You can start using right away. My name is Sebastien malinovski and I help real estate agents grow. Their business through marketing, so they never have to do any old-school prospecting again. If you’re new to this blog, please consider subscribing now, let’s get on with the top ten article topics.

Now before we get going, I have to let you know. There are three different types of articles. You can shoot three different types of categories. The first one is evergreen. The second one is connection type of article and the third one is conversion type of article. What’s the difference? Here’s a quick recap by the way. If you’d go down to the description below I’ll put a link in there, so you can actually get free training on this specific topic.

So, let’s start with the evergreen content. Evergreen content is something in your neighborhood or a topic that is always there. For example, a neighborhood or a school: it’s always there connection type of articles or content that you can release. That is meant to create a connection between you and your local market. That way, you can gain your know like and trust factor the conversion type article.

That’s the sexy one, that’s the one that every real estate agent wants. That type of article is designed to create a lead all right. Now, let’s move on to the top 10 article top two top 10 article type, that okay, let’s move on to the top 10 article topic ideas you can use as an agent wow, that’s a tongue, twister number one interview, local businesses or local entrepreneurs. The reason why you want to do that is because they have a following: if you interview them, they can use that as a marketing piece.

Well, what would happen if they sent that article out to their entire list of clients that right there will give you exposure number two interview local influencers, so that could be the main that could be an actual youtuber. That could be an Olympian and athlete when somebody sees you with a local influencer. It gives you instant credibility, number four, past client interviews or testimonials, there’s an old saying in business.

If you say it, it’s not true, but if your clients say it, it must be. Let someone else tell your community how awesome you are, as an agent number five real estate information articles. These are the how to’s that’s what really got me off the ground years ago, when I started shooting content in my local neighborhood, I just started creating how-to articles. What I would do is document every single question.

I was asked by my client, whether it’s a buyer or seller. I would document it and guess what that’s a article topic idea. For example, how do I know when it’s the right time to buy? How do I know if it’s the right time to sell? How do I negotiate when I’m competing for that home, etc? Things like that number six market update articles now these would be classified or considered as a conversion type articles, while you’re giving your local community.

The statistics on what’s happening in the local market you’re also giving them your advice. That’s key make sure that you give people your advice on what perhaps is going to happen in the future? How does that influence the buyer or seller or affect the buyer or a seller, and the key at the end is put a call to action. So, for example, you can say, and if you want a report on what’s happening in the market, go down below and download the PDF or what I’ve also done in the past, and this worked really well is in the middle of my article.

I would literally tell the viewer pull up your cell phone and text this code, or this word to this number and the latest market report will be delivered to you right away, something to think about number seven about me this guy. Well, not about me about me. Articles do you have an about me article if you don’t now’s a good time at the end of this article, hit stop and go record in about me. Article literally pull out your phone and just record now.

Here’s the key, don’t just include professional topics. People want to know who you are as a human being, so make sure you include a good mixture of professional and personal things in that article tell them what you do, what your hobbies are. Are you a family person or not? You know what I mean. Number 8 community events. Now there are two different types of community event. Articles you can do. One is, let’s say you release a article on Thursday.

Singing here is an awesome event that I will be attending. Why don’t you come in at end I’ll, be there at five o’clock? So if you know somebody made your local influence or who’s putting on an event and you want to help them well, you tell your community by the way, here’s an event happening Saturday at 3 to 5 or whatever the time is, and I’ll be there at 4:30 Things like that second type of community article would be a live article.

Actually, while you’re there put it on Facebook number 9 neighborhood articles. That would be an evergreen type of article things that people, Google or search when somebody Google’s or searches Google’s. It’s funny how you say Google’s if somebody searches for a specific neighborhood in your city, wouldn’t you rather have your article come up on that search as opposed to an article from the city.

I think I made my point. Number. 10. Here’s a cool one! It’s something out of the box and I love out of the box viral trends yeah. I know they have nothing to do with real estate, but remember like the ice bucket challenge or the mannequin or the Harlem shake or Movember things like that. Get in on the action show people that you’re a fun person and the most important part is just be you, that’s really what matters it doesn’t matter.

What type of article you shoot? The most important thing is just be you now. You notice that none of these topics actually have to do with real estate, the typical ones we think of an open house or a listing article. We all that these two types of articles exist, if you want to tack them on, is number 11 and 12. You spend two three 15. 20 Hours, whatever you’re doing The rabbit hole And you’re reading that content, So you already know article is effective, So what’s also cool about YouTube, it helps you build a community And think about it when it Comes to marketing your brand! If you get a large group behind you, that’s sustainable for more success.

So let’s go through that, Starting with ensuring that you follow the program’s guidelines that you live in a certain country and your blog has over 4,000 public read hours in the last 12 months Also have more than 1,000 subscribers and make sure your account Is linked to Google AdSense, So let’s talk about AdSense and how you can actually Earn money with it So YouTube is a subsidiary of Google and AdSense is a product of Google? That’s how it allows you To make money on YouTube, So these are the ads That pop up on your article, It’s estimated that creators can make anywhere from $ 3 to $ 10 per 1,000 viewer engagements So with some simple math.

If you have 10,000 views on your articles, you can make at least $ 300, Okay, so Nealey. What About YouTube Premium, Because they’re not being shown ads, so if they’re not being shown ads, how is anyone making money Yeah that makes sense? So YouTube actually gives a percentage to those creators based on things like read: Time and viewer engagement, So I would add the Channel Membership feature – and this is a great way to Offer incentives and rewards for people who are tuning In to your blog or becoming a monthly Viewer or subscriber Yeah, it’s just like Patreon.

Basically, So you can also sell products. From your Merchandise Shelf, So if you live in one of The approved countries and have over 10,000 subscribers you can show up to 12 products from your Teespring merch page. Also, I’d recommend enabling The Super Chat function,’cause. What it allows users to do is have their actual Comments pinned to the top, which is pretty cool, Yeah, it’s just like Twitch.

You can also produce sponsored articles Now. What this is is Another brand or company paying you to promote Them on your own article, much like a micro-celebrity Yeah totally and be sure To follow the FTC guidelines and think about your Audience keep them in mind. You don’t wan na just go promotion, crazy,,’cause! Then, if you’re just constantly promoting your content, you’re going to maybe lose That engagement with them So keep them in mind.

They’re Following you for a reason, stick with that, what is it? That they would wan na see What a lot of other Youtubers are doing now on top of all this or, if they don’t even Meet those requirements to join the program, for example, is they’ll, sell their own stuff, They may link off to their own, say, Etsy store or WordPress site or whatever they’re selling Their eCommerce items on and then just promote those So Emma.

If you had your Own YouTube, blog and you were going to sell Something what would that be Jokes, You’re, not getting any money, ( laughs, )! Well, I’m thinking about when you sell on YouTube. I have, for example, a lot of cool vintage pieces, but do you do that on YouTube? Would I showcase the Vintage pieces that I have in a YouTube article and sell it Well for a lot of people, you’re directing them.

Off to another source, Now some people will do That for affiliate marketing – maybe they have affiliates with Amazon and they say “ Cool. Here’s All the equipment I used to create this article,” and link off. Oh, that makes sense. Okay, Or here’s some cool swag of my shirt with my face on it, whatever that looks like For sale, You can use those other revenue, Streams to get that money, So speaking of making money on YouTube, I know I like to think about.

How to make more money so we’re going to talk about Branding marketing and SEO to help you make more money on YouTube Yeah, so getting into Those programs are nice, but you really wan na create a sustainable income and Revenue streams right So let’s talk through a Couple ways to do that: Let’s do it So first off you wan na think about how can you build an engaged following build your audience right And a lot of times I think of first, what’s going to make them unsubscribe just to keep in mind, don’t do That, but also how frequent you should post, I give the same advice with social media.

If you’re only posting Once every three months I’m going to unfollow you There’s nothing there. You got ta, give me something of value. You got ta, keep me tuned in And so think about the frequency and what you’re putting out there when it comes to building your audience, You will also wan na optimize. Your article and your blog, So this is everything From the logo you use that header, you use that trailer, that 30 60 basically ad spot to promote you and your business.

When someone comes to your blog, the titles, you use It’s going to take a lot of research, but it’s definitely worth it because these first impressions last Yeah and it’s so meticulous right. I mean think about how Much time we’ve spent just on the thumbnails, with our articles Too long, Too long I’d also encourage you to think about how to market your brand and your article off of YouTube so cross-promote.

One thing we do is we Take the YouTube articles and we cross-promote them Over to Facebook or Instagram Yeah, we’ll maybe get A condensed version since Instagram takes a minute and says link in the bio Right change the link Links off back to YouTube where they can see the entire article and, if they’re, not a Subscriber they can subscribe, But we would recommend not to put all your eggs in one basket.

So don’t make YouTube your only thing. Remember: MySpace and Vine They’re gone. What happens if YouTube is gone? It’s not likely, but it’s really good to Diversify your attention on all these different Platforms just in case So while these tips Have definitely taught you how to be successful on YouTube. The 3 Stages of a Good YouTube Marketing

That’s what we’re going To go over in this lesson, The 3 Stages Of A Good Video. The Hook is the first part of the article, It’s short and sweet, and it Just captures the attention of the viewer, Then you roll into the Next phase of the article, which is called The Content or the body That is where you’re going To continue to build up the problem as well as provide the answer During the body or the Content section of your article, you need to reiterate the question: maybe agitate it a little further Then over deliver on providing the answer that solves the issue of whatever it is that they’re facing And then, when you get done, With that body of content, bring it to a close You know the closing, which we call the Call-To-Action, That is where you’re going To restate the answer to the problem and then tell Your viewer, what you want them to do next, That’s the Call-To-Action.

That is the stages of a good article. You have a hook, then you Have the body of content and then end it with a Closing or a call to action, ( electronic rock music, ) (, whispering ) Subscribe.

YouTube Marketing for Loan Officers (How To Get Found)

So today I’m going to give you one tip how you can get more people to find your articles every single time. You add articles on YouTube and it’s going to be to put the keyword or whatever phrase you’re trying to rank for you need to put that phrase in three places on your article, all right number one.

You need to put it in the title. So, whatever phrase you want to rank for that’s what your article should be titled, or at least that phrase should be in the article number two. You need to put the phrase in the description, preferably you have it in the first sentence and in the last sentence on you know in the description and again there’s no limit on maps. You can make the description, however long you feel like making it and number three.

You need to have whatever keyword, you’re, trying to rank for whenever you’re doing YouTube marketing as a loan officer and put that keyword in the actual keywords. Okay, so I think you do make our own tags or keywords, one of those two and you’re going to want. How to Check Mobile Traffic Using Google Analytics

This is an important number to know in general, but especially now with Google getting ready to roll out an update on April first. That will affect how easy it is for websites that are not mobile, friendly to turn up highly in the search results.

You really want to know if your website is not mobile friendly much.
