How to use Google Analytics by Aferdita Pacrami CEO 90 Digital

So a huge part of what we do is just analytics so having data there to kind of explain what we do to see if it works to pretty much come up with strategies and everything is led by date. Everything is led by research or ohm, analytics dates, and things like that, so this is cool.

What we’re going to talk about today, specifically focusing on google analytics. It’s widely used analytics platform. It’s pretty, and I guess that’s what you guys are learn who this semester first thing: I’m not really going to go through how to add the tracking code and stuff, like that. That’s that’s kind of basics and Google Analytics itself as well, just really good guides for how to do this, but these a more kind of tips that maybe they might not really tell you about so first thing when you first set up with google analytics account.

You’ve got your account, your property and your main view as a default. You’ve got the all the website date of you now. Something to bear in mind with google analytics. Is that as soon as you set it up, that’s when it starts recording data. So it’s not historic its immediate and, if you add any filters to refuses, then who are likely to that tells good want to let it how to track so it completely changes what it’s trucking.

So so you have a filter soon ignore any visits from the UK. For whatever reason it literally will ignore them. So let’s say today you set up your google analytics tomorrow. You apply this filter, you leave it there for a week, then after week, you’ve removed it. That means that you’ve got a hold of completely different data, and you can see the issues with this because then you’ve got inconsistencies in your data.

So something to remember is whenever you set up, google analytics make sure that you’ve got one completely unfiltered view. This is one where you don’t apply any filters, don’t change anything and it’s their kind of as a backup, because if you make any mistakes with your filters or if you just want some clean data which is really valuable, you want to make sure that’s there and Then you can have your main here with them.

You know if you can filter IP addresses or whatever and then also set up a test where you would test out new filters before you apply because, like I said it’s, it’s immediate. So if you get that wrong, then you’ve got on the clean data so make sure always to have a test view. It’s really the core of using should have or the minimum or through it. You can have up to 25 and you can set it up. However, you want it always the three important ones.

Are your unfiltered view, your main you, where you apply some coracle, turns your document and also test view where you can test out any additional filters. Yes, so the main filter that I would first of all set up his IP filters, um. Yes, whatever business, you have you, you don’t want to track your own visits, because I could end up being misleading if everyone, your team, has come something on your site.

You know dates up, might look really impressive when in reality could be. You know half of the traffic that you’re getting any other filters depend on kind of what you’re. After so, for example, you might want to set up separate these four different other folders on your site, so you can set up these four. You know site.Com /of store and that’s one folder structure or psycho come forward. Slash dog things like that, so to kind of separate um your data into different kind of views and just to dig a bit deeper into filters.

So they’re, pretty easy to add you um analytics, already gives you kind of predefined filters that are the most common ones that you use and again one of the main ones that everyone uses an IP address filter and it’s just excluding your IP address and just a Note on IP addresses – I don’t know if everyone knows this, but a personal internet providers have a dynamic IP addresses. So, for example, if you’ve got whatever intimate you’ve got at home, your IP address will likely change every few months.

Family business providers really offer static. Ip addresses so that’s something to bear in mind when it folks bring our IP addresses. If, for example, you want to build throw your University access are not so sorry tropic, then you can set that up. You can just find out with your IP addresses for your uni and it ignores all traffic on between you guys. But if you want to filter out your home activity, you your best of doing that, maybe with location looking at other ways doing that instead of IP address, because after a few months, you’re going to have a different IP address and best case scenario.

Is you just have to update these filters every few months, which I don’t really recommend because it’s a lot of admin work worst case scenario, these IP addresses get reused by your internet providers, so somebody else subscribe to that entering our package will get your old IP Address now it’s pretty unlikely, but they might end up being a user on your website, so you unknowingly, filtered they’re out there relevant traffic.

If you have any kind of search functionality site, is to set up site search on there. It’s really valuable information because it gives you an insight into what people are looking for when they come onto your site, especially the reason one people would you say, searches, because they haven’t immediately found what they’re looking for and by seeing the keywords after entering – and you Know exactly what they’re interested in and maybe how to make the process easier for them how to make the presence of fondant that page easier for them.

So again, it’s in your main um preferences. That’s what is you just switch on the site, search, tracking, German, beautiful? So in Google this would be your profit ur q and it’s kind of the most used one in a lot of search functionality. Anything after search Q equals Tesco. This is the keyword, research for tesco stores. Some sites have additional filters, so, for example, they’ve got the main search box and then categories, and you can set that up as well, so that you can look at which categories people are selected.

For example, update you select your parameter queues and everything after this parameter is the site search. You can strip that openurl, so you don’t see it in your pointing, and you can also set up a category parameters for the counterpoise. It’s always before an equal sign. For example, here the different categories are English language in french language and very similar to the cube from turkey Ian equals and then um whatever the category.

Is there another thing to make sure to switch on when you’re studying google analytics of this on the demographics reports? So this is typically used for a remarketing data, but it’s also really useful for getting additional data analytics reports again this this future can be found in your few dates on these settings and what it does is when we go into your audience with points you can Actually see the different demographics of users that are coming onto your site and that’s really useful data I mean, in the long term, maybe want to do some surveys with the customers to find out where they are what they’re interested in.

But this is a great start about, because once you have this kind of information, you can really target your website to. You know that you know mainly 25 to 34 year olds, physiol website them and the majority of them are male. Then you have some ideas of how to target them. You also get interests as well. So you can see what else are interested in the way that Google Analytics take statements just by seeing what else are searching for a new database when they go to your site.

So because so many people use google analytics and they also have all the data from search. They could give you this information, but we need to enable um demographics in your setup. So I’m going to go through just some different types of conversions and how you can set up goals. So, first of all, goals are in your view as well are just in your viewing kollam. You can see Bulls there, and this is kind of how it looks like against you.

Some template, wolves and you can use or you can set up your own custom goals. These templates are quite good, but they fit specific purposes. So if you don’t have an e-commerce site, then you may just want to set up your own goal. So I’m going to talk a bit about micro, conversions and before I go into well. How does that are, for you have two different kinds of conversions and your micro, conversions and macro conversions.

A macro conversion is kind of your of the main conversion. It’s your answer. So, if you’re an e-commerce site, it’s the point where somebody ads as an item to the basket and makes approaches they bought a pair of shoes over something that is a macro conversion. Micro conversions are smaller conversions that lead to user to making a purchase. So it could be something like subscribing to your newsletter.

It could be spending more time on your site, so reading descriptions of the shoes reading, reviews um things like this, so things that would lead somebody to making a macro conversion your site and or you can set up with tons of conversions in Google Analytics. And it’s just in a goal set up. Okay, so a an example of a micro conversion would be time on sites. I am assuming that the more time people spend on the side the more the more interest that they are in the content, so the more they’re reading about the products, the services that I’m offer.

So I would look at the average duration on the site and see typically how long people take before they converts before the odds of basket or hook complete a form or whatever. And then I would take an average of kind of how long who was fun before making that macro conversion and I’d set that up visible. So in this case I’m saying if somebody spends five minutes for more on my site, then that’s a goal.

You can also add about you to these goals for monetary value. Um. If you have an e-commerce store, you know kind of you can add some how much each micro and macro go on what the monetary value is there. So, for example, you’ve got different products. You can add a monetary value of exactly how much each product costs curr macro go. So you know this conversion made X amount of money and at the end, just um.

You can select verify the school just to make sure that it works and say that part of a broader topic, but really before you kind of decide on what conversions. What what successes on your site! You need to really identify your business objectives. So if you say you’re a small business with an informational site, what what’s the point of the site, why are you online? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you a lead generator um? Are you a service provider? What is the point of even one? It’s kind of a really big question, so if you’re, if you’re just a blog um, then again I mean maybe you could answer in hypotheticals here, but if you’ve set up a business blog, what do you want to achieve with them? There are loads of different ID butters and links are still very important, though they’re not the most important things.

So if all you’re relying on is getting links for one blog, then it will help a fraction a bit, but not that much, because if you’re constantly getting links from one root domain than those links are less valuable and also it depends on how trust working. What the quality is of the blog, that’s linking out your business site. So if it’s kind of just a wordpress blog, then it adds very little value, whereas if it’s a really strong blog with the consistent following on constantly getting red and those links, you know it’s constantly ranking for its you post them.

That adds a lot more about. You so it’s all, contextual um! Really if you do have a link building campaign kind of wan na um, you want to variety. You don’t want to keep sending links just one place because then it kind of looks like you might have a partnership with this blog. So give you some hypotheticals if you have a business and you’re just adding a block, see that business then some reasons why you might want to do that in some, your blog could potentially help you learn: corn, um long till key phrases.

The way that your business site might not be able to because they’re bit limited in the type of content and they’re, not really targeting informational searches or mainly targeting transaction assertions, a blog is really good for that. So hypothetical ball in that case is just counting number of unique visitors, because the assumption there is that if you are constantly ranking on informational searches on long till key phrases, then you are more likely to get more visitors through to the blog.

But that would be a micro conversion and that would lead to potentially been sending this traffic on your business life by having strong calls to action on the blog. Sometimes the reporting you’ll be highlighting the number of visitors. The blog is generated for your main sites. That’s a new that’d be a good metric yeah. So again, a difference here would be blogs typically have a high bounce rate, because if you’ve got a consistent leadership, then they really just go read your latest post enemy.

They don’t do research, they don’t check out. Other pages um, but what we want to do it if you have a blog on your business site, is trying to move those readers to your business. I to make a transaction or whatever it is. You want them to do if it is spreading awareness for your business again, then you want to kind of measure things off site, um measure, how many people are talking about you in social medias.

There are several social monitoring tools out there um measure, how many people are talking about you, an external site, so not necessarily links but brand mentions. So all kind of awareness, conversions awareness balls would be mainly off your site, another hypothetical for why you might set up a blog is so again what we already talked about. This is to pass conversions to your main site. Um. There isn’t really a blueprint for this.

It’s always depend on what what you want to get out of it. So what your end result is, and once you know your end results you can come up with well, you know you’ve got your macro conversion, which is your end result, and then you can figure out different micro, conversions that lead to user to that end result. So if you do have forms and surveys I mean this – is this: this lie that I’m on now is it could example how to track that um.

I just set up a destination goal so that you get the thank you page of your survey. If there they’ve got a forum, if they’re signing up to an email newsletter or a survey by dealing when you set that up, you want to make sure at the end you send them to a unique URL. Sorry not unique hero, but thank you well so that you can track who has the medicine submitted this and then digging deeper into this? If your survey has several papers you can set up funnels, I think I yep and what funnels do is.

Let’s say your survey has five different pages: um, you know. First page is just kind of finding out about them like seeing if they can onto your survey. If you’ve got a really good survey, then yeah the first page is qualifying them and if they don’t qualify, then you send them to a page. Sir. You know sorry thank you for participating. They don’t follow by check out our other surveys here and you track that as a goalless walks.

You want to see me specifically how many users are coming to site and completing that survey. Arms polyphony, then you’ll get an idea of kind of your user group and when page one is, do you qualify page two is basic questions bundler, but your interest whatever paged me whatever? It is your surveys about so you’ve got five different pages. You set up fun ways in your goal destination, so your and route your destination is the thank you page, the funnels to the destination or each of the pages that lead to the end goal.

When you set this up – and you know if it’s a linear park – PPP they’re all required, if any, are skipped depending on what the user answers them, you know you, some of them won’t be required for then in your reporting. Once this is set up, you can see exactly where your users have dropped off. So if you’ve got a hundred people starting the survey and only 30 people go to the thing to your page, then you can look up.

You know first, how many people qualify for the survey and then at what point did they drop off Anna Vissi? Maybe page three had a very high dropout rate, then um. This is a good application of. Maybe you need to fix them. Maybe the questions are too hard. Maybe you know you know the user, don’t really understand. Maybe your surveys too long and beginning to really only need three pages. Whatever is like that’s the point to test, but yeah, if you do have a servant, you’re collecting that kind of dates are then set a destination ball with funnels when looking at your data, some of the stuff that you might want to do is compare a month On one year on year and stuff, like that, gurgaon alerts – and it’s this really easy from here – you can set date, ranges either manually or on using one of their presets compared to previous periods.

You compared to previous one previous year, whatever something that I would kind of recommend you’re, looking at monthly dates, i’ll break it down by day, you’re looking out yearly data, your best breaking it down by month, because sometimes you can get kind of a normal. These very things you know things change daily, but if they’re comparing year on year on year, what you want to do is to see if there are any seasonal trends for high light.

Anomaly is sometimes, if you get huge spikes or hear excerpts for August, let’s say whereas August in previous years, the so when is kind of roughly the same, and then you can get deep into that investigate, but yeah comparing times is really useful. Just for you know, seeing any improvement or seen seasonality, which is huge monolithic, sometimes you’ll get our traffic going down over the winter, and you know, rankings are still the same.

Everything else is still the same, but yet you’re getting less visitors on your site and instead of freaking out I’m thinking, I need to change my whole strategy. Something’s going wrong. You just compare a year on year and see. Is this normal to do? I get this visits during the winter. Do I get more visits during the autumn on same kind of thing? If your topic is increasing over the summer, you think oh yeah, this is working.

Let’s throw more budget, he thinks it’s working so well, but Chuck first see what patterns are on your data um, because the other thurs you usually do get concert. I’r going to be doing. Please look into that. So you’ve got a huge spike in June. The spike in traffic look at what kind of activity that was what you want. Maybe at some point is that way cause of traffic is that coming from. Is that the right traffic is that brand searches? Is it referrals what’s happening there? That’s where you dig deep and that’s when you can break it down in two days, um being hinter a lot of stuff with just kind of twine of your analytics data.

Something else you can do is use Google’s URL builder for me, and Google Analytics will naturally break down things into different campaign mediums and source and the reason when you would use even all builders if you’ve got a specific company. So it’s saying your university is doing any kind of winter term. Company we’ve got some new voices coming up and being able to promote them, so maybe you’re committing to buy an email by a various social other sites.

Referrals things like that. The best way to do that to kind of break it up from normal traffic, when your site is to use the URL builder going to create a unique whirl um. That looks something like this one here below that has a UTM source and it’s got all the campaign data. Now this overrides: let’s move one of the tips so, like I said, Google Analytics will already give you the source and medium, but once you set this up this world, it will wonder why puff.

So it is important that you enter this information correctly. You do understand the difference between source and this kind of stuff, because if you get it wrong, then you might get messy dates off so to go through this, but source is actually where this visit is coming from. That could be Facebook that could be google. I could be email, um does our gmail. That could be the actual site. The medium is the type of a visit, so it could be a referral.

It could be a search, organic PPC, email on. Does that make sense, some medium is the type and source is the actual place coming from campaign term is mainly used for paid keywords. Now, there’s no point of setting up your UTM tracking, if you’re doing, if you’re using AdWords, because it’s a lot better, but you can just link up your AdWords account. There is enough Google Analytics. However, if you using any other platforms that aren’t supporting with Google Analytics um the necessary, so that of like maybe um – I’m not a BBC expert, but maybe you’ve got some sort of um search platform.

Um this on social or something you’ve got and they’re finding your ad space in simpler words, that’s what you would amputated, not open on lyrics, just ignore out where it’s just sort of those two up campaign content. Hmm! This is, if you’re doing a split test, um landing page, so if you’ve got so, this is the pager tracking, sulfur, um, AC and papered / business, but you’ve got two different iterations of that page, one that highlights all the modules in the winter.

We are the one that highlights all the activities on the extra connectivities in the winter and you’re tracking, with this particular components who want to campaign sources Facebook’s its referral. But you want to see which one is more popular, the one that talks about the studies or the one that told us about the extracurricular stuff and that’s where you’d under the campaign content here. So here, for example, I would put in um studies.

So that’s person might set this up again for extracurricular tickets as a campaign content. I my campaign name is some point: your toe in your campaign once you’ve set us up in using this unique URL. So if it’s some Facebook they may share using this URL, not just sulfur, is you cable, / business and the same? If you were um, if it’s a PR campaign, it’s somebody else’s linking to you, then give them the UTM like for them to link that way.

So that it struct one traffic comes in through these lengths, then you can see it in your acquisitions section on google analytics. So this URL is what you get when you fill in this form and then let’s say you want to share this on Facebook, let’s just um. Actually, I won’t do it so mess up your analytics, but that’s the page against you with the additional stuff on my url. So all this stuff, UTM source facebook for all campaign winds, return um.

If you share that URL on stop, then anyone that clicks on that link from facebook and lands on this page, you will see it in Google Analytics under the acquisition. Their income pays. Well, anyone could set it up and come I mean you do see some thumb. Let’s set up like this um but yeah. I don’t want to run this exercise if everyone, if your data person knows if this is happening, but if you all click on this link and go to that page, then, when you check out the google analytics, you can see that as a campaign there and see How many visitors that page is sound, but i’ve seen some really interesting examples of spam using this technique to set up segments so um as a default on any report that you’ve got.

You see kind of all sessions that you want to compare it so similar to what I showed you with dates. Comparing month or month or year, you can compare um, for example, all sessions and mobile traffic or um. We can compare all sessions with them, only ones that converted and then you can kind of get um a more in-depth view of your data on segmenting your data like well, and then you can find on any report.

It’s just at the top here. You click on. Choose segments and um there’s a lot here. You can create ring segments as well and you can compare up to four segments, so you can have four different things up here and same with dashboards. If you find there’s a lot of information, Google Analytics, if you find that you’re only interested in some of the information – and you don’t want to keep scrolling here to get those separate reports – you can create dashboards.

If you create multiple dashboards and name them, you know whatever to serve your own age in dashboard, for any kind of referral, dates that you can have the hall here. Really good ones are from really good analysts and you can just add them to your own. Google analytics or modify them and then you can get into you can get them to understand about customizing a lot more by looking at what these other people are doing and kind of Highland customize things, and we have decided a list of good resources on just Google Analytics and analytics and measuring generally um, these top workloads are really good.

One of these is from is a global law, but kaushik Avinash, Kaushik ism. A really good analyst is written several books on um analytics platforms that are really useful, but a lot of the important content of his books is in his blog. Kissmetrics is the platform and they’ve got a really strong load as well. Buna metrics um also analytics has some sorry tips. Google analytics is different courses on how to use on google analytics and other platforms.

So he visit this link. You can see a number of the different courses and they’re all free and you can only get tested on it as well. At the end, if you get her here, I would recommend um using during the fundamentals course first and then going on top Tyga system is a chrome plugin behind a bum troubleshoots, your analytics installation. So if you’re setting up analytics some mistakes that I’ve seen you some, you know if our website is great, we’ve got a ten percent bounce rate, which is it is phenomenal.

It’s really low and unrealistic lilo, and when you look at that, Google Analytics you will actually it got to analytics tracking codes, help so they’re tracking one page twice, and that kind of interferes with how the bounce rate is measured and yeah. Web Analytics – Getting Started

What is that? Ok, basically, when you’ve got a website, people go to it and they interact on there. All of that information is trackable. Google analytics allows you to use another free service from google to track how many people are coming to your website. How long they’re gone there, what pages they’re going to what type of browser they’re using where they’re from and so on and so forth? There’s so much information it really could take hours for me to go through it all.

The basic thing I want you use article is that if you’ve got a business and you’ve got a website – and you do not have Google Analytics or some sort of analytics program, you’re, basically running a business without a cash register, both the web sites, even Wars and Analytics because without analytics on there, you really have no idea. What’s going on on your website. Ok, you can anecdotally talk to people and hey.

What do you thinking? I would say? Oh, it looks really pretty, but it doesn’t tell you anything about how much time they’re actually spend on the website, where they’re going to on the website. If they’re accomplishing goals such as filling out, the web form clicking on the phone number if they’re on a mobile phone, what search keywords they typed into Google to get to your website what referring web sites are sending traffic to you? You have no idea about any of this, and Google Analytics is really easy to set up.

Like I said, it’s a free account there’s a little bit of JavaScript code that you need to put into your pages and boom. You start tracking. All this information. You need to get this set up today, if you don’t already have now, if you do have it there’s a lot of things about analytics that can make you think that you’re looking at important information when, in fact, nothing’s really coming out of the scope, the biggest One is that this is visitors.

You might get excited that you’ve got 10,000 people coming to your website each month, but what, if all 10,000 of those people have no interest in anything that your website has to offer, and they leave immediately, is anything well that traffic is worthless to you. So while visitor number is nice and it makes you feel good when it going up – it’s not necessarily important, but you also want to look at our few other factors, one of them being bounce rate.

Now this is a tricky number. What happens is when someone comes to your website and then they hit the back button and they leave your website. That’s counted as a bounce. Well, so, what’s happening here in one way: that’s not good. It means that they come to your website and whatever they were. Looking for wasn’t there, your website did not deliver on something that they need, so they lend. On the other hand, they came to your website.

They saw your phone number, they called you and became a customer. Well, in that case, it’s just fine that they’ve bounced off your website. Maybe they closed the browser right then, and that’s now called a mouse, but you know you can still look at bounce rates and get an idea, especially if you’re doing like a paid Google pay-per-click campaign, your bounce rate is really high. Then that tells you that you need to either tweak what keywords you’re bidding on or you took the content on your website, so a little bit insights there.

But at the end of the day, the most important things that you need to be tracking our conversions on your website, what our conversions, what conversions are? Really anything you want them to be the most obvious one. Is they go to your contact form? They fill out the form and they hit submit. You can set up google analytics to track that as a goal and therefore a conversion, and then you can see hey.

Somebody did a search on Google for this keyword. They came to the site that went to X, amount of pages, and then they filled out that web form, and that gives you insight into going wow. Okay, if that’s converting them, we need to do more content on that. If you’re doing a paid advertising campaign same exact thing, if there’s a referral site, so let’s say it’s basically any site: that’s not a search engine, let’s say Yelp Facebook! You know any any any type of website.

That’s out there, that’s not or Bing or Yahoo. Sending you traffic and that stuff’s converting – and you should reach out to that website and figure out how you can be better positioned on there, so you can get even more business out of it. Maybe you need to find out the five websites that are similar, that site and make sure you’re on them and you’re set up correctly, because something on that site is triggering people to come to your site and then become your customers.

So that’s that’s. Google analytics in a very brief nutshell, as I said there is a limitless amount of things that you can do on analytics, it’s tracking a ton of stuff. I recommend, if you really want to learn this stuff, you know obviously go sign up. Get a google analytics account going, you know, set it up on your website. There’s a ton of books, the big one that I like is from a google or name Avinash.

Is she I’ll even put some information over here? You know what books to get, but he walks you through what are important to look at how to create reports that you can give executives that have actionable data. You really want to be getting on this, like I said if your business owner and you’re not doing Google Analytics you’re flying blind right now, all that money, you’re spending on aunt being online is worthless because you’re not taking any action as far as what’s happening.

It’s a living, breathing organism, traffic changes with the seasons, so you need to be ready for these changes and get content ready and then be able to track what content was actually effective in making you money. MDi TV – What are advanced segments in Google Analytics?

Give you a bit of a an inside view into how you can segment your traffic and find useful bits of information to help you develop and improve your marketing campaigns before I kick off on a highlight our ecobuild tweet up on the 21st of March. At the event will be recording MDI TV at the event.

You could build as part of the MDI TV series. The other thing I just want to quickly mention is our SEO workshop on 19th of April.

Ok, let’s kick off advanced segments. What are the prime segments well in analytics? You’ll? Be able to break down your visitor data into more meaningful data, things that you really want to find out and a good way of explaining. That is, if you’re reporting or agencies or you’re in to report you on a monthly basis, visitor data to your website. You may see over a period of time that your visitor levels look something like this and that little bump there is a campaign or something that you did offline, that caused lots of people to come to your website.

What could find segments does is really breaks down. All of this area here into other bits of data, so one of the examples might be mobile traffic, so something in there will be over traffic. So there’s a portion of visits that come from mobiles. There may be search engine traffic which looks something like this, and then there might be returning visitors that looks like this, so it’s identifying the various different segments as part of the whole aggregated number of visits are come to your website, so in analytics, you’ve got a Set number of predefined segments and I’ll go through each of those explain what they are if you’re going to your analytics and at the top you’ve got advanced segments.

If you click on that on the left-hand side, you’ll you’ll see this list and first segment is new new visits. So what we’re looking at here is all your visits. What percentage of those visits are new visits and this kind of helps you identify how many new people are coming to your website in a relative time period so every month you may want to look at how many new visitors have come to your website returning visit.

So how many people come back within four weeks or six months or 12 months have come back to your website for more information? This is particularly useful for those of you got blogs, develop case studies on a regular basis, new stories, you may even have a login area, so you want to see how many people keep coming back to your website to login for more information or read more information. The next one is paid so paid visits.

If you, those of you who are doing pay-per-click advertising, this is the bucket or the segment and they falls into non-paid – is organic traffic from search, so you can see or split up also traffic by paid and non page. You can also do this through the search report itself and then you’ve got your to sort of traffic search and referral sort of breakdown. All of these visits into just search is it so this one we said earlier was searched.

So just show me, the number of people with all visits have come to my website from a search engine then you’ve got referral. Referral is referrals from other websites and some of those could be social media sites. It could be supply chain, partner websites that they’ve got a link from their website to yours. We could be directories so they fall under the referral traffic. You might want to segment with all traffic on a regular basis if you’re starting to do lots of advertising or you’ve started to do more directory advertising.

So you might want to segment that traffic and just view over a period of time. Is it getting better? Is it less? Is it the same and the quality of traffic that’s coming from those websites? Most importantly, and I’m very important, I always kind of mention that can anything to do with conversions is important. This is where leads are generated. This is where goals happen. On your website, this is the conversion, so here’s all of your visits and what you want to do is just take the amount of visits, though in conversion, so it might be some.

This might be a very small percentage of visits that actually turn into leads or subscribe for more information or download, PDFs or subscribe or login for cad drawings of sexual or it might be somewhere around here. But you need to send meant it out. You need to understand: is it getting better? It’s other ways of improving the number of people that sign up for things and download more information, one very popular one there that is becoming more and more power more.

We do it as well is mobile traffic mobile traffic, as a percentage of all of your visits could range from somewhere like one percent, or it could be as much as five or ten percent. Depending on your audience, one client that we have their percentage of mobile tropical hovers around five percent, which is pretty high, considering that the industry that we’re in the type of people, whether they’re office based or on-site base, usually most of the time it’s on-site engineers that Are visiting the website from a mobile device or a tablet device, so one that is, I may talk about in another episode on how and what to look out for final set.

It’s more of your product pages or your main internal website, page that you want to look up. Ok, so there’s standard and advanced segments in analytics. However, there’s a custom set of advanced segments I like to use on our clients, websites that give us a bit more information as to you, activeness of marketing campaigns that we develop so okay, the first one is brand keywords and if you go back to another episode Of MDI TV, where I talked about the difference between brandon non brand within search engines brand before mind you quickly is those visitors have come to your website from a search engine having typed in your company name or your product name or some sort brand name or Better employee, something that’s connected with the company non-brand – is those who have mentioned or search for no crime, in particular no product, name in particular no employee, so very generic blue stuff.

So, for example, an online keyword might be timber decking, it might be rain water harvesting. For education sector no particular brand names, the other segments really is campaigns and segmenting all of this data into campaigns. So what we want to do is take out our campaign data and we can see then something that may look like that. Email campaign, one email campaign to direct mail campaign three and segmenting that data and I’m going to look at – did they stay on the side or pages? Did they view? Did they then go to sign up for more information that they go and download brochures? So segmenting? Your campaigns is absolutely crucial in assessing how well they’ve performed.

I don’t wan na like. Is that the number of keywords that people use within search engines to get your site and look at other volumes? So how many visits have come from someone that resented one word into a search engine? How many you’ve come from entering two words? Three words: four words by words, and it helps you assess the long tail as you’re. Very it’s a complex procedure. Settle, you need to know a bit of a boxful regex to kind of set up and band segments in that way.

It might really only be one or two but they’re the kind of visitors that I want on my website. I want the people that come to my website, time and time again. They read lots of content. They stick around. They share it with in legal team.

They share articles on Twitter, they download our ebooks. They subscribe to my newsletters all of that kind of stuff. It is what I want to know, and he only maybe two or three a month, but I need to know that two or three are maintained and all of a sudden, if I lose all those, I need to develop more good content. Finally, location, one of our clients particularly focus on developing business driving traffic, getting orders from a particular location.

So it’s a facilities. Management company in London really wants to target the London area so i’ll send st. Men all the traffic that comes to the website from london. So i’ll look at what pages will they land on what have a type into google to get to the website fun? Optimizing the website for facilities management company in London. I want to know that the number of visitors are coming to the website are increasing and they’re, consuming more content and they’re also subscribing to the blog and they’re, also sending in inquiries as well.

So hopefully, that kind of explains a little bit about advanced segments and how they can help. You understand all of that visitor data, so just looking at visit a visitor data and going fifteen thousand visits on a monthly basis, great the websites doing well. My advice would be to just dig a little bit deeper break that data down into small chunks and maybe just pick a few segments here in there and start optimizing will start developing campaigns targeting force regions or social media campaigns.

Measuring Success: Using Google Analytics To Gauge Your Progress

Perhaps your CEO is happy about the way his bio and headshot look on screen like this winter. Those kinds of things are important at anecdotes. For most businesses, though, it has to come down to something objective, something that can be measured. For example, 100 unique visitors came to your website on Monday and 20 of them purchase your product.

You need to be able to determine what you’re getting back from your website. So how do you do that? The ultimate objective measure is whether your website contributes positively to your bottom line. It will capture certain data as visitors move through the site.

It’s really important to look at just those key indicators that mean something to your type of business. Chances are you’re going to be looking at things like bounce rate, visitors over time and conversion. There’s actually a place in Google Analytics that you can ask it to compare it to your industry, so that you know hey. Is that a bad bounce rate of our good bounce rate is that a good conversion or a bad conversion? Looking at these key indicators over time will help you determine where your site may have problems, and then that way, you really can determine the success of your site.

It’s the Easiest thing that you can do You can post whatever cadence you want, whether its once a week twice a week three times a week, four Five six times a week, I don’t know You pick what works for you and just start putting content out there. Then people will start finding it and then subscribing and Coming back and back again, All right and as a bonus, we actually dove pretty deep into content creation.

And content marketing We’ll throw the link right over there, But talking about the cadence and series, how do we really keep things? Organized and consistent Easiest thing you can do is create a content calendar, Its a place where you Can put all of your post and all of your ideas in one Place and then you can see,’Okay. I need to write these 10 articles and they’re going to post on these days..’ Perfect.

So we have the Content created Content is king Now, should it just live on the website? What else should we do with That content to build traffic, So the easiest thing that you can do is once you already have tons of content is: go, publish it everywhere Everywhere. Everywhere So, for example, if I have a blog post and I took great photographs and its five tips on how To be awesome, you know I should show the world on Other places on YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Hey.

Maybe I should share those five tips on those other places because I have followers. There are lots of people out there that don’t just follow you on your blog, So you need to get that content out. There’s people on Pinterest Who don’t even know you exist? So you need to make sure you create a nice little Pinterest banner and it links back to your website, because people will be Searching and they’ll find you and they’ll become one of your New followers and readers – I like that, So that’s super important.

You create a banner for Pinterest and you create a you repurpose that content for Instagram, don’t just copy paste. It everywhere right, You have to make it for that platform Like Twitter, keep it super. Simple super short Instagram Include one of the tips. Imagery is everything Especially the five photos Right Make sure its for that audience.,’Cause they’re there for a reason Like if I’m on Instagram, I want to see imageries And things like that, I don’t want.

You Basically, have a script already written with That piece of content so just get in front of the camera and share those five tips and publish to the YouTube world There. We’ve built our own content. We’ve shared our content on All of our social blogs and all these different places we’ve gone to our email list Now its time to go to Other people’s website Out into the wild, Yes, The wild wild west of sites that you do not own yourselves, So you don’t control It called Guest Posts, So basically we know how Hard creating content is its time consuming.

You have to edit it. You have to draft. You have to Come up with all these ideas and you’re an expert And maybe you’ve already Written about the things that you’re an expert About so many times over, Your audience knows that, but maybe someone else’s Audience would benefit from learning from you, So Guest Blogging is Going to someone else, maybe in your niche or a Different niche and saying “ Hey.

I would like to write An article for your audience, Here’s what I was thinking.” And what that does. Is you Create very useful content, And then the most important is that, somewhere in your bio or in that article, you have a link back to your website, So that these new readers can find you and then go to your website visit and follow you from there. Not only that that also Build back links right Yep, So that helps your SEO.

So if you do not have Google Analytics installed on your website.

You need to stop and go Install it right now, Because it has so much information about who is visiting your website when they’re visiting your website, how long what pages they’re visiting when they’re leaving Its so much information, and it will help you understand. Which of your articles that you spent so much time creating are getting the most traffic Where they’re, coming from What search terms, people are searching to find those articles And so you’ll be able to see very quickly what are your top performers and what are your duds? So you can stop working on the Things that aren’t working And building more content that people are actually searching for So Google analytics you could do a whole article.

Keyword Traffic Research with the Google Keyword Tool

I also want to talk about what kind of traffic you can expect to get for a number one ranking in Google and also where you really should be looking for the majority of your traffic. It does probably not where you think so, as you can see here, I’ve got the the keyword tool page open and we’re going to go ahead and use coffee mugs for this.

For this demo before you do run any queries I suggest clicking. Obviously the competition in the Google ad network lets you know how many people are bidding for this keyword, the global monthly searches and the local monthly searches.

If you’re doing this for e-commerce, you’ll want to focus on the local monthly searches, those will be much more applicable. So the most important thing to understand, and probably the biggest mistake people make when using the keyword tool, is not understanding how match the different match types work and, as you can see, there’s three different types of matches: broad exact and phrase and the keyword tool defaults To broad, so broad match, like the name implies, is going to include pretty much anything related to your search terms, so for coffee mugs.

If somebody typed in what type of coffee should I put into my mugs, that would pop up, you know ignoring the fact. It’s a ridiculous search to begin with, but the two words don’t have to be next to each other. You know the order isn’t as important. I think it might, even if mugs was for some coffee was there that might show up as well. So it’s really going to give you a huge variety of different searches.

So broad, isn’t quite is isn’t real. Accurate. A phrase is much better and phrases going to only return, search, queries that use the phrase. Coffee mugs in that order. It’ll still return some extra things and some extra queries. So, for example, if someone typed in where, where can I buy coffee, mug or I hate coffee, mugs or my wife keeps hitting me with coffee mugs, you know any of those would pop up under you know.

Under phrase match, but it is a little more accurate, but but the best of all these is going to be exact match. An exact match like the name. A prize is only going to is only going to show search, queries or report search volume for the exact search, coffee mugs, and this is going to be usually what what I use and what I recommend using when you’re doing research, because it’s going to filter out A lot of that extraneous information, so we can see down here now: coffee, mugs, we’ve got you know: 12,000 local monthly searches and which is great.

So you might be thinking: oh, hey, 12,000, local monthly searches. If I’m number one for Google I’m going to get. You know I’m going to get almost all of those and as wonderful as that would be that’s just not the case, and the reason is because Google’s gotten more aggressive recently with their advertising here, I’ve got the the Google listings for coffee mugs and you can see Zazzle is, is the number one organic listing or than the number one non paid listing that Google at Google displays, but above them, they’ve got three ads here and you’ve also got this big side bar on the right with a bunch of pictures and paid advertisements, and So there’s a lot of you know, there’s a lot of stuff competing for that number.

One spot that’s paid advertisement, and I can tell you, based on a number of keywords, that my business is ranked number one for that. Based on the results, Google will show you in the keyword tool. You can. Probably you can you can plan on getting about thirty percent of the volume if you rank, if you have a number one ranking and that that’s a little squishy, it could range anywhere from thirty to fifty percent.

But 30 percent tends to be much to be much more accurate in my experience so out of 12,000 local monthly searches. If you have the number one ranking that Zazzle site, it’s probably only seeing four thousand people a month for this. So maybe you don’t just a few over. You know. Maybe one hundred twenty hundred thirty people a day which can be a little a little little depressing, but the good news is you’re not going to get the majority of your traffic from this.

This number one money term is what I refer to it. As you know, kind of your route term, where, where you’re going to get probably 80 to 90 percent of your traffic, is in the long tail of variations of that term. So, for example, we’ve got coffee mugs here, but listed below that. The second second highest volume query is personalized coffee, mugs with 3600 custom, coffee, mugs, travel, coffee, mugs, funny coffee mugs, and these are what I refer to as long tail variations or long tail keywords and they’re.

Just the root keyword, obviously with some additional modifiers on there and the thing that’s great about these long tail keywords is: is one they’re easier to rank for because not as many people are going after them and two they usually convert at a much higher rate than Kind of your primary primary keyword, because they’re more specific and if you serve up a page, that’s optimized for for that term, whether it’s travel, coffee, mug or you know, personalized coffee, mug you’ll be able to get a much higher conversion rate on there.

So this is where you’re going to get 80 to 90 % of your of your your traffic and when you’re researching a niche, be looking for lots of these variations in this coffee mug example. You know, we’ve got you know almost a dozen here with with more than 500 500 search terms, maybe more than that. So look for lots of variations in the long tail and also look for the search, the search phone. You want to make sure that it’s you’re always going to have it drop off.

You’re, never going to have or very infrequently are you’re going to have the long to variations have as much volume as your money or route keyword. But you want to see once you do get into those long to variations. They don’t drop off to significantly, and here there’s you know four coffee, mugs, it’s pretty decent you’ve got thirty. Six hundred twenty-nine hundred you know you’ve got about all looks like six or seven they’re in the thousand range and then we’ve got another dozen.

Probably you know in the four hundred to a thousand range, which is what I would call a deep niche. So that’s that’s a really encouraging sign. So let’s look at a different example: fishfinders I’ll sort, these by local monthly search volume, again we’re on exact match here and you can see fishfinders. It has about 2,400 exact matches per month and then we’ve got. We’ve got a few variations: we’ve got Eagle, fishfinders L’Orange fishfinders hummingbird fishfinders, but you know really only a couple in the just there’s three they’re in the thousand range and then we drop way off to three hundred and two hundred and by the time where a dozen Down or in the 100’s or even you know, ten down around the 100’s.

So this isn’t to say this mark would be awful, but I would I’d be a little leery of the fact that it’s not a deep market, there’s, not a lot of longtail variations, and so, instead of maybe getting you know, you know 80 to 90 % of Your ear keyword, traffic from longtail variations – this might be something where maybe it’s more like 65 to 75 percent. Again, these are ballpark numbers, but you do want to look look for those longtail variations, they’re, indicative of of good markets getting into and and indicative of, the possibility of a lot of your traffic coming from those longtail variations.

So three key takeaways for this article. The first is make sure you’re using phrase or even better exact match to get more precise results when you use the keyword tool. Secondly, just remember that when you are looking at those those money term volumes that you’re only going to get a fraction of those – and that’s even if you’ve got a number one listing in Google. So don’t don’t overestimate how much traffic you’ll get from those and finally make sure you’re.

Looking at how deep a niche is and looking for those longtail keywords, because the more you have of those and the less the volume drops off with those longtail keywords, the better chance, you have it getting a lot of traffic in that niche. It’s also a great strategy to pursue those longtail keywords in terms of SEO and marketing, because you’re going to be able to rank for those more easily will be less competition for them and they’ll convert better.

Keyword Research Tool Bing & Google

With you case study articles. Today we have Peter Davis with us. He is a Twitter expert, a pro marketer and we’ve been spending some time. I’ve been showing him the software and he’s going to be doing it mostly talking I’m going to be answering questions, so I’m going to put a muzzle on myself and I’ll go ahead and share your screen.

Heater. Tell us a little bit about yourself in like 30 seconds or less. Basically, I am a internet. Marketer have been for many many many years now, currently getting involved with text marketing of created my own little program that helps with text marketing. So I like the idea of search triggers because it can help me write articles that are better than there are other people, so I can get them ranked.

So I want to pick your brain about the pro version of search triggers and see how I can use it to get the best subject to talk about on the topic of text marketing and i’m told that you’ll be able to show me how to get the Best one, so I assume I can just type in the box here: text marketing yeah. What is it that deep in quick thing which which is the best way to use okay, so the best thing to do is start off with quick right just to get the setting of the landscape all right so I’ll? Do that then yeah? Okay? So I can see from here that I’ve got some good rankings in like number 5 means it’s a great keyword and it’s very popular, obviously, because the word text marketing and has we have a lot of competition.

I imagine and then because I’m in Canada obviously shows up in Canada. Ok, so I see here that that Bing likes text marketing. Yet Google and Google like it, but then Google don’t care too much about the other terms. Is there a quick explanation for that? Yeah? You see Bing and Google, give different ways to different keywords so like if you sort by Bing rank you’ll, see that Canada, technology, terminology and platform being is more concerned about uh the things of business owners and business needs.

So that’s why text marketing technology is trending. More inside of the Bing search engine terminology is trending more inside the Bing search engine. Google is all about this whole free free free thing. So, if you, if you click on the google rank, just click on where it says google rank um, you know it. We’re thing of changing the word: Rank 2 rating um, probably the night better release. That’s going to be that way.

You can see that text, marketing, free text, marketing services, text, marketing laws and text marketing companies. Those are the top five things that Google considers important around. That time you know around that term, and so you can just sort on each column, and you can do this kind of real-time. Now you see that pages column is all 0 yeah yeah. Okay, so pages is the number of competing pages.

Now you can do this manually with a free version, as we showed in the previous article that’ll be uh, you can even click on the 0 in Google right under text marketing technology. Oh, that would type me to google, wouldn’t nothing yeah that brings up yeah. Go click on that it opens up a google search. It’s just a time-saving tool. Oh yeah! Well, right! When you can do seven billion results, yeah, okay, so 7 million results isn’t really useful because if you put that in quotes – which is what we covered in the previous article put it in quotes, let’s see how many drops it down to there’s a terminology.

Little fan actually forward: okay yeah. They have that talk that have that in the title here. Yes, yeah, that has an entitled so they’ll um one other thing close that window. You know the difference, another difference between the the pro and the beta, the free version. If you click on the blue doc, click on the blue dot next to technology or terminology, I guess we were using last night well, what does about here? 22 results.

It automatically fills in the in title and puts in the quotes, so it’s a real big time. Saving ready, yeah, definitely not equal rival, is kind of a ninja termed a lot of people in the industry know it basically says look guys. I don’t really care if it appears in the body text it it has to appear in the title. Exactly that’s much. Portant precio busted one now sequency text marketing technology has 22 results.

Now go go back. You close that window go back to search, trees and I’ll click on terminology, the blue dot. Oh, I say 7 results. Let’s take them better. No, this is no results found. Let’s see searching for entitled without the quotes, of course sure. So if I read my article so for already in that first color means we started using this. I already found that text marketing terminology might be a good title for my blog post, my absolutely Allen’s going to order anybody good anybody can use this knowledge by just understanding in title, colon and then putting stuff in quotes.

That’s right, you don’t need search triggers, but it saves you boatloads of time, which is why I have searched triggers as my homepage. Exactly as I start searching here, and I can search both Google both being at you know, Bing and Google. I can go right to the in title and what we’re building right now is your ability to tweet right from inside of zoo figures, that’d be cool. So what I want to know now is the exact button and the deep button.

Okay, if I use the same okay, we’ve decided that maybe check mark text marketing terminology might be my article, but we’re not sure yet there could be a better, better subject to use. So what does examine thing to hover on exact? It should bring up a little pop-up lover yeah, if checked it will use for the exact phrase. Okay Ron, hover, quick, keep stretching the number of page results via keywords, and that saves you search points, okay, cool right so so freely.

What I want to do was let’s go into the quick first, but did you want to cover exact? First, I was going to cover quick um while wearing quicklist, a quick, okay, so uncheck quick, uh-huh and then run the search again now we’re going to spend some credit. But there’s nothing checked is that okay right exactly yeah all right and okay, so you’ve run out of points. Luckily, um, okay, you wan na explain everyone by points.

What points are? Will I give you some more points? Yeah. I understand because I’m part of the case study group, the first users of it, that I don’t expend any points when I use search triggers. But what the points are for is because I understand what you were saying earlier, that some of the features of search triggers relies on another search engine that charges people for its data to be displayed, and I understand that search engine that gathers every better.

All the information from bing and google and correlates it in a way that can be used by companies as yourself, but unfortunately that costs money. So therefore, some of the free stuff we’ve done is free, but the deeper stuff will cost a point or two but or some points to do it. But fortunately, because we’re part of the weighted case, study group will get them for free, exactly yeah, and I understand I think early on, though you’re talking about when it launches the sep tember, that there’s three ways that people can can pay for the pro version.

They can get pay one time fixed price of one hundred, ninety seven dollars and they get 5,000 any time points and they can display more points as they need them or if they did a subscription, which is ninety seven dollars month. They actually get 9700 points recurring. So, every month they get na 1700, but I would assume that if I tell people about this search traders and their share and I put on facebook, do you give me points for that? Yeah we’re going to be doing a whole bunch of pre pre-launch activities, and so, if you share posts on Twitter, you put stuff on your facebook we’re going to be giving you bonus points.

That’s awesome! We’re going to be doing trainings for people when you read the training, you’ll get some points. When you add a feature, you write something about it. You’ll get some points, so we’re really wanting people to start engaging with this tool, and you know the September 9th is our launch date. We’re concurring we’re doing this concurrently with a big destiny launch I’m actually, I’m working with.

You know on the promotion of the destiny launch behind the scenes with some colleagues and I’m very excited about about. You know that how just you know, then, will we learn from search triggers? Sometimes one or two words makes all the world of a different God God. So let’s have a look now, or did you give me some point? Well, you know thing. Is I I’m trying to find you in here and uh? Oh, you know we are developing this tool uh as we speak, and your input is greatly greatly appreciated. As are you, we’ve had a lot of people, say God great tool, love it love it. You know it’s grant st. You know that’s great and we love and appreciate that, but if it’s more specific it’s better, if you say like you know, I started using search triggers in my blog traffic increased by twenty percent or I’m you know, III, just like one of our people um.

You know before they they sent literally they they they. They use such triggers to develop a trending book title for the new. You know for actual print book. Also they were just about to go, publish their book before it. You know they realized. Oh my god. This one word is way more popular, so I’m sorry yeah. So here we have the page camp yeah all right. So now, if I am, we were looking at technology and terminology so there’s actually, according to the search engines, no pages that deal with terminology, okay right, then right but 3300 that deal with the word technology, yeah and so sort by the page column go ahead and Click on pages, and it sorts by that cause, you can click, it click it again.

You can go ah save steps up the blue domain 0 or unknown. So that means what there’s not enough pages all well. It means that uh, we don’t have any evidence that that, under the you know, under that phrase, that there is, if there’s enough, okay, but you think text marketing laws is 22 pages yeah the color. Let’s talk about the colors yeah. These are orders of magnitude, and we did that because when you have really really long lists, okay, uh, it’s really easy to just sort of like scan through the list and ways what one of the things you want to look for.

Something has lots of traffic, but doesn’t have a lot of pages. So, let’s, let’s, let’s run the pro version – real, quick on this, all right. Okay, so what do I do? Allow us up? Oh okay and click on pro analysis and then run the analysis. Alright cool and what am I looking at and there’s drill costs 11 points you see that yeah lemurian and check for now. Okay, but what happens if I just what? If I check the otherwise exact match prices? Yeah, that’s a future feature that takes quite a bit of explaining okay.

Well, let’s not worry about it. Yeah that doesn’t pretty quickly. Doesn’t it yeah now it’s doing is it’s taking the process we cover before it’s doing all that work for you behind the scenes. Wow, look at that – let’s not switch to advanced few just yet. Let’s just take a look at this okay, it’s saying the text. Marketing companies is a much better bang for your buck. Remember we talked about technology, yes in the previous article.

Yes, well that’s great, but there’s not enough people looking for it brage! Okay text marketing companies is a much better blog post, even though it’s competitive, there’s more traffic under it and it gets the highest score right now: text: marketing, free, okay, that’s their text, marketing services! Again, but you see the only one: that’s got a green dot is terminology, yes, and so what I would do, Peter that is scroll down to UM the keywords and URLs below, and I would grab that and give it to your assistant.

Oh, ok, ok and I would write blog posts on each of those topics yep. Now let me show you one more thing that you can do. Ok, you can click on them. Don’t click on advanced. Yet I know it’s very tempting. Well, you’re not going to show that in this, don’t do it don’t do it? Please don’t do it put it in a public article but um, but just just break out very briefly so far text, marketing, terminology or text marketing technology are the front-runners to write a post about yeah.

But this. But before you jump ahead, let me show you a little secret: that’s only in the pro version. Click on the red dot under 2.41 – Oh see. So what’s that show me well with that’s showing you is a unfiltered, unbiased view of the top ten people. That is not influenced by um, let you say it’s not influenced by geography, cookies, your profile or all those other things that everyone else is being influenced by read.

This is a raw data, so two raw data. So if you want to go, look at you know like you, might you might not find best text, marketing reviews and ratings of SMS marketing yeah? What I would do is click on that link and look at the article. Okay. I me know: if you go to Google, you may not find this site, and this is the Nugget. This is a gold in sight raw and you want to reach out to those people, and you want to tweet about them, and you want to get friends with them because they’re the people that are writing all the reviews, in other words, they’re the big kid on The block they’re the number one they’re, the number one people exactly so I shall contact six people and talk about mine mine product exactly and you want to put your product and make sure your product is featured here.

That’s why the pro version is really for pros. Yes and then you said, there’s a business version as well, so there’ll be some more for the business. What about a possible blog post right all the time? The business version has a wizard we’re working on a wizard. So all this data and this behind-the-scenes stuff, it’s just going to say, hey what are you looking for hey? What’s your industry pick 1, 2, 3, 4 X Y Z, and it just does all that stuff for you right but, like I said in earlier, everyone who’s part of our beta group until September.

Ninth when we launch – but you know everybody gets access to all of the features – the biz Pro all the versions right here, while we’re testing. So, yes, it’s really it’s really an opportunity, and if you want to be a case study, you can also visit our website and get information more information about becoming a case study. You got to have a business, you got, ta, ask them traffic and guys you got ta have at least a you know, a domain relevancy or well.

You know rank of like 20 or 30. So so what do I go now? We’re not go now to find out, which is text, marketing technology still a good place for me to write about well, it’s very competitive and doesn’t have any traffic, so I would say no right. Okay, if I wanted to play for my treasure, everything has a score of zero is because there’s no traffic under it yeah, but if I paid um, google low or being some you know, if I wanted to run some Edwards that’d be like really really cheap.

I’d. Imagine because there’s no competition for it. So could I get a pic that way if I paid for it uh, you would be building your own traffic and you’d be a trendsetter and that you know we could come back here in a you know. Let’s say you did that right, yeah, we could come back here in a month and all of a sudden you would start seeing oh yeah there’s some traffic under this, where the traffic data from google or from bing is only coming from people who are bidding on Ads, if no one’s bidding on God, then they don’t have any traffic data.

Exactly i’m giving you ND. Oh yes, that’s true, so often pay pennies in the dollar and get some good traffic. And then yes did you start the train myself? That’s pretty cool yeah! You want to start the trend yourself and then what that does. Is it’s going to drive the price up? Ah, but it’s also going to start trending them yeah yeah. So you get out three thousand three hundred pages under that yeah.

Now, let’s talk about deep okay, so I pick up date, yeah click on deep and then just text marketing technology. Yeah, let’s see what happens. Hopefully it won’t break now, whatever you use a deep search, you don’t want to do to you want to already be on a niche okay. So why are we looking at here? So you can see search triggers, found, 127, more results and all I can see them all. I say these are the top ones.

Are they yeah? These are the top ones, so Australia, articles, awards, agency, blog bulletins and go ahead and click see them all and now sort my page 60, okay, there’s any yeah honey. So well of those of that thing, there’s only three that talk about the blog businesses, Wow business opportunities only have a one page. So you really could you could really dominate the field with one yeah if you could tweet about it, so one of the things you’ll be able to do is like you’ll click, click text, marketing technology, business, opportunity, yeah, click that and you’ll see it copies it to The upper box – yes, okay, there’s going to be a button to the right of quick or, however, the the UI will be built that will allow you to tweet this directly also price.

Now, let’s take a look at how these numbers compared with instant like right now we’re searching all the web, but let’s just only look in terms of Twitter and let’s just you know, for now: let’s gear, without Scientology, X, marketing technology, business opportunity yeah, we get rid Of business opportunity because there’s no one going to be on that get rid of business, opportunity, okay and then go ahead and run that and that’ll tell you how many numbers yeah see see again: it’s it’s just there’s, there’s literally no but a project deep.

But let’s go exact: a little quicker doesn’t yeah, because it’s few it’s performing fewer searches. So there’s one person: let’s see you is what I don’t see. I go ahead and click the little click click, the Bing rank. Click click. The number five under Bing rang. Okay, now what so? Let’s go to marketing technology on twitter, and you probably want to become friends with it because he’s the guy that is in twitter.

That is also 1 pages, one user is that what it means yeah, but look at he’s, got 51. Follow of fifty one thousand followers, so he’d be a great person to know so I start following him yeah. So what about um but back in search triggers yeah, this page one? Does that just mean? There’s one user there’s only one Twitter yeah, because you, you know Twitter pages themselves, ah are already highly highly indexed both in Google and Bing they’re really really good for SEO rock.

So if I tweeted something about text marketing technology, what would happen I? You would be um you’d start showing up as a leader in that raw, and, I would say, that’s a great place to start. Definitely definitely quite fast. It’s like up focusing search figures is not just for SEO it’s more about social media and about establishing yourself a leader um. How can we show up stop the screen share, so I’ll stop the screen share.

Now you know no, don’t stop this creature. I want to make sure that we covered everything that you want to see in the pro version like. Why do you think people should upgrade to the pro version other than 0 offset out of the rd development costs to get early access? They get. You know all right in tools, I mean. Why would someone do this because you’ve got so much information here? This is awesome, so I’ve found out if what, in the few minutes that we’ve been talking, that we found a great article, we can start writing about text marketing technology, which is what I have in my program.

Am I right, yeah yeah yeah yeah keep going so I’m suggesting I’m suggesting that anybody who’s considering search traders gets the pro version, at least because they’ve got to find out so much more information and get so much better results and it’s all in one spot, not Having to change then on the free version, I had to change screens all the time and put commas around stuff and inverted commas, and I wasn’t quite sure what that was all about.

But now it’s quite clear that you know if I want to start writing something. I’ve got all my tags here that I can use. So for me, it’s a no brainer, and I thank you big for creating it you’re welcome. The search engines get under a niche phrase right, great content that gets shared and then trend that content and then spend the money on both there’s three things. I’m going to tell you where you’re. Actually, four places: you should always be spending your money on advertising. As soon as you write a blog post mm-hmm, you want to bid a little bit use some of the keywords that, in some of the training in search triggers and go out and spend some money in Google, first thing: Twitter and Facebook for places.

Okay, the money you spend there on ranking your posts will cause you to be a trendsetter. Once you become a trend, setter and people start sharing your article, you don’t need to spend money on those things. Anymore, pause the ads and go create a new article and then promote that ad become a market leader in your expertise, search engines, love great content, but more than great content. They love curated content.

They love content that shows that you’ve taken the time to look at what other people have written about and that you’re actually adding value. What to what people are saying. That’s my mission is to let me let me just give you a declaration here. Google AdWords Keyword Tool – Exact Matching and Exporting – Optimized for PPC

This is uh. This is our website. I’m going to go to a home page okay. So there is the site, earth grid, calm and when I’m now goos I’m going to go into google and i’m going to type in Google Adwords Keyword tool or you can just Google Google Adwords Keyword tool. Okay. Now it gets you right into the Google AdWords tool. So this is some stuff that you probably most people, will basically just type a word or phrase in here.

What I’m going to do is I’m going to take this page right here now, i’m going to copy, because our homepage right, i’m just going to paste that right in this box under the website field. Now you can do this with any website any competitor, any product that you’re trying to sell you just pop in the URL of the website, supposing you’re selling a clickbank product just pop into you or all that what’s going to do, is it’s going to fetch all The keywords right from that site and populate the keyword list down below now.

The other thing you want to do is you see where it says broad. I want you to uncheck that and go to exact we’re going to uncheck. You have to actually click exact before you can uncheck broad, but I want you to emphasize this thing. It says exact right over here, okay and so then I’m going to go over here and I’m the type in the key. I hate these captions there we go now you see. What’s really cool is we got all these keywords? Build a website make a website domain, name, search, free web site hosting.

The next thing you want to do is go over here and search by global monthly searches, and you see web hosting. This is how many times per month, people are searching for the exact phrase. Now, if I go too broad – and I do it again – you see you have a website – 100 million websites online website, all that data is kind of useless, because it’s so broad and so vast. You probably won’t even do this. What are you doing, PPC or any kind of campaign? What I like to do is uncheck the broad and just go and exact, and that tells you exactly: okay, there’s 135,000 people searching for web hosting every month, website, design, website, templates domain names, blah blah blah blah blah all right, that’s good! Then what you can do now um, I let’s see if I can do this, I’m going to go grab all this stuff cuz.

You know, google won’t let you actually export this stuff, but you can copy that to your clipboard and then I’m going to tell you you know you want to fire up a very free tool called open office. You don’t have already have it already installed it to go to openoffice.Org, okay, we’re already five minutes through it. I’m almost done demonstrating what I was going to show you, which is really cool. This is from a 90 minute article, and this is all I learned from this 90 minute article.

So one of the things I’m working on here is delivering 10 minute. Quick BAM apply it stop this article. If you want to and go back, go to openoffice.Org and download this product, it’s a free product, it you know. If you have office, you can do that too, but it may not. You know I find that open office works better for by copying and pasting stuff. In that you like lift it from somewhere else without getting all the forest, so I’m going to go here to UM to op OpenOffice calc.

If you could also use a google docs as well fill the other key here is in there yeah yeah. You could use google docs, but I don’t necessarily want to let Google know that I’m lifting all either because all the London up – and I also what I’m trying to do – is keep a local copy of it. So, okay, so now I have my spreadsheet here and the first call of a ducking, so I could just delete that and I can expand this column out right here and now here I got all my statistics right, so I’ve got my 16 keywords.

This is how to 35,000 local 40,000 okay and now, if I want to do a PPC campaign, I now know what keywords to go after all right. So then I could save this. I’m just going to save this to my desktop and i’m going to call this a web hosting keywords and we’ll go back to that now. I’ve got now got all my keywords that I’m going to go after all right, so this is very, very useful because then the other thing is they: supposing, if you, if you’re buying a some pay-per-click ads, all you need to do is copy this column, and then You could open up like notepad, okay, paste it in right.

What happened there copy what the heck’s going on? Oh, it’s at the very bottom there. It is see that now I have all these keywords now you can grab these keywords and paste them into your PPC campaign and by those keywords, and we can do another training, how not you how to do paid advertising that wasn’t the purpose of this. I just want to show you how to use Adwords and what the distinction is now.

Why would you want to use AdWords? Well, generally speaking, if you don’t have a keyword, that’s at least like 30 or 40 thousand dollar, thirty dollar thirty or forty thousand s articles like 30 or 40 thousand searches per month. It’s probably not worth your time to write a blog post to really kind of focus on that keyword, even with PPC, alright. So on any questions I’m going to this is what I want to impart to you.

It’s a very, very simple thing. Just to summarize again number one pop in URL or you can put in the word or phrase here, but I like tears because if Dutchess all the key words right from the site. So if you’re, if, let’s say, for example, you’re writing a book and – and you want to come up with some keyword, ideas for your book will find a competitor’s book that the best seller pop those keywords in there and then use this to figure out what keywords You want to target for not just for getting your basic broad you’re, giving your broad-based keywords down and then i’m going to pick something like something in the thirty forty thousand range.

Something like you know, create a website. Okay and then i’m going to go on to the next tool with that n equal any questions before we uh that useful. Yes, that’s great, i’m sure it is alright.
