You are seen reading this life. I do that right from the start, so that people get to understand, I mean so that I get to understand what time people are reading.

You know the article right so for those that are tuning in. Thank you so much for your time. I’m hoping that you’re! Well rested and it’s a good week for you. I really wish you a wealthy week ahead. I hope you’ve been fantastic and you’re roaring. Like a tiger. I like that about your own blueprint, and I see Dean. Sprog has just tuned and thank you so much my man for tuning in all right. So you know right now. A lot of people are really being confused about this whole digital marketing lens. You know when Facebook yanked the you know the chain and then they stopped. You know they stopped. What do you call it? They stopped the reach of pages in our newsfeed that that you sort of disorientated a lot of businesses and Dean.

Yes, you’re reading this live. I am line all right so that disorientated, a lot of businesses and so many people are still confused. I know some of my clients, the crying foul, is because most of their online strategy was based on them being present on Facebook. But that’s the reason why we’re here so that we can help you. You know navigate the whole online space and also just to really really ask does any of you guys have a social media strategy if you’ve got one, can you type in the number one if you’ve got a source of media strategy? If you don’t, if you’re working on one, can you type in the number two if you need help working on one, can you type in the number three that would just give me an understanding of who is actually you know reading this show right now and what Do they possess come on guys, it’s 2018 tonight I mean and if you’re a small business doesn’t yet have a digital marketing strategy or a social media strategy by now, you’re, actually, being you know, you are already behind the competition? Alright, you are way beyond the competition Dean.

Can you also just type in the comments? What is it that you actually do so that I understand, maybe you need one or maybe you don’t need one all right. So that’s the reason why I’ve put together this article. It’s got at least off. You know some of the digital marketing strategies that I actually use that will get your business headed in the right direction, all right. So I want you to keep reading this so that you can learn more of some of the essential online marketing strategies that will actually put your business ahead off the competition, because, if you’re not doing this guess what your competition is actually doing it.

And if you don’t believe me tag your competitor in this article and then you’ll see why I’m talking about that? Alright, because, at the end of the day, what’s actually happening on, the market is if your competition is giving your audience or the people that you’re trying to reach out to a certain service or a certain way of dealing with them. Guess what happens? Guess what happens? Your audience and automatically anticipates that you they can also get it from you now.

If you are not giving it out, it’s going to be a problem now Dean says neither strategy mate. We can chat later absolutely and you can see what I’ve created here. I created a four-step system that you can literally plug and play into whatever it is that you’re doing, because everyone is out there. Looking for the right kind of client everybody out, there is looking to engage that audience and once you’ve engaged that audience, you want to convert them into lasting customers and then from there you’re going to need referrals from them and also ambassadors and advocates for your work.

So you know just type in the word blueprint, then Dean, so that I can actually shoot you through this blueprint. It all happens automatically. Don’t ask me how it all works out. Okay, so the first thing that you really need to do. I know every one of you guys is small to medium. No one is grossing anything above three million a year, so I can say you literally need to engage in what is called local search marketing all right.

So when people are around the corner from you all, they’re looking for yoga instructor near them or they’re looking for personal trainer near them, they’re looking for you know a marketing or a VA near them, you need to be found way. Audience is actually searching all right. You need to be seen way. Audience is actually searching because right about now nothing rivals a solid local search, marketing strategy for your small business.

Guess how I know that, because every time you’re out and about you just go Siri. What’s the nearest restaurant Siri? What’s the nearest ice-cream parlor Siri, what’s the nearest whatever shop you’re looking for that is all local search marketing and when you are driving around you just type into Google, maybe ice cream shop near me, Google generates you to the one that is closest within your vicinity.

Now can imagine if your business could be found by people that are lingering around your area of business right there, because all of that food traffic or all of those people that are within a hundred sort of meter or like a five kilometer radius. They could be people that are actually actively searching for your kind of core or your kind of product or service, but they won’t be able to see you in the newsfeed.

So local search marketing is where it’s at all right. How many of you guys are practicing any local search marketing tactics if you’re doing that, can you type in the number one? If you are thinking about it, can you type in the number two? If you have no idea what I just say, can you type in the number three cuz? I really want to make sure that we’re understanding this, because let me tell you something: at the end of the day, people are getting bombarded and they’re getting very confused as to how to actually proceed.

What strategy to use – and I see Anna – is actively doing local search marketing. So that’s that’s pretty good for you there, because nothing rivals local search if you’ve got a solid local search, marketing strategy for your small business, and I see for you you’re running and is it a co-op place for people to work in that people can come in? So that also really needs local search, because what what local search really is is its marketing that consists of you claiming and optimizing your business online listings and it actually shows up in relevant searches.

So if you’ve got Google my business, if it’s actually clearly, you know labeled what your work hours are, what you actually do, who you do it for people will come around to you. Let’s say you own, a local barber shop and somebody really needs desperately needs. A haircut or needs to get their hair done or they’re going to do is hair salon near me, and if your business is listed on Google or is listed on all the other search engines locally, you will be found there.

Do you not? I mean so. Those aren’t really relevant local searches that you don’t want to miss out on okay. So there’s a lot of elements that come around with you know: local search engine optimization, but when it’s done right it can actually put your business on the on the local map and its local branding that you’re also taking advantage of there. So it is one thing that you can actually start utilizing and doing right now, because your local customers are the people that are going to be loyal, they’re, the ones that can actually peddle.

What do you call it word-of-mouth, etc, etc. So you need to make sure they know of your own existence within their neighborhood. You know I mean, because they are also going to be made me searching for your your products and services all right and once you’ve branded with the people that are around you know. It’s it’s now easier for you to branch out, because now you have ambassadors so for a lot of people, local search is complicated.

You know the results won’t happen overnight or you know you can’t just do it once and then forget about it. It is best left to people that are actually actively involved with search engine optimization, which is what I do every single day of my life. So if it is something that you need help with, can you type in the number too so that I can help you optimize your business for local search engines and also, you know local directories all of those things you know that would help you get found by Our audience well, one when they’re, you know actively searching right, then, and then how many of you guys have optimized your website for mobile.

Can you type in the number one if your website is optimized for mobile the number two? If you are almost about to do it, the number three, if you need help with optimizing your your website for mobile, I just really need to see the level of you know intensity that you, you guys really have when it comes to marketing and branding your businesses. Now, if your optimized for mobile, please type in the number one, if you’re thinking about it, please type in the number two, if you need help with it type in the number three all right, because everyone else right now, you’re probably reading this article on mobile right Now almost 90 percent – I’m not quite sure, don’t quote me on this, but 90 % of the people that I see personally out.

They are utilizing a mobile phone, which means the accessing internet. You know using a mobile phone, so if your website has got all the bells and whistles for a desktop, not a lot of people are really using. You know the desktop or the laptop while they’re out of the back. So if your phone is your website is not, you know, optimized for mobile you’re missing out on a lot of traffic right there so have a look and see if it is something that you need help with, and if you really really need help with optimizing.

Your website for mobile typing, the number three and I’ll shoot you through something that you can look at right now to diagnose, to see if people can actually view your page okay for forum, while they’re searching you know, while they’re on their own on their mobile phone. You should also one other thing that a lot of people don’t realize is Google is a search engine, so you should, you know, optimize your website, first of all, for humans and also for search engines all right, so you should optimize your yoyo your website in a Way that people can actually read it and also that the the web crawlers on Google can also read it.

You know some people’s websites that I talk to right now. They still have a website that was created in 1997 between 1997 and 2017. There has been almost three changes with the Google algorithm, so if your website has not been changed in the last three years, you really need to take a look at that all right or if you created it within the last two years, then you should be fine. All right, so I mean, if you you haven’t created it, you know who you haven’t, changed it in the last three years.

It’s time to fix it, man and it’s time to fix it. I mean it’s 2018, you know for all we know we could actually be having phones that I just you know genetically owned. I don’t know modified to just stick in our ears and we don’t have to worry about even carrying a piece. It’s all coming. Have you seen apples, you know all you know earphones that you carry around all the time that are cordless. What is stopping them from on TV, something that he can insert into your ear that stays there and you don’t have to worry about it because right about now look at this.

If your website is not optimized for humans or for search engines, customers are getting impatient. You know we always talk about you know. The attention span is getting lower and lower and lower right. People now want instant results. So if they load up your website – and it takes more than three to four seconds – they’re already swiping right looking for something else – that loads up a bit faster – we now have so much shorter attention span.

So if your website is first of all clunky or an attractive, slow to load, it’s confusing to use people are just going to leave it, and then they take up what your competition has to offer. You know so you want to make sure that, first of all, it’s mobile-friendly, it’s easy to use, it’s easy to read and people can easily navigate it. The one thing that a lot of people have as a big big problem is, we are constantly as business people we’re constantly looking at our website.

We constantly know what it is that we are supposed to be doing. We constantly know what the website does what to press, but if somebody has only three seconds to look at it and then make a decision, are you giving them the opportunity, the right kind of information or the right going to you know buttons to press in order For them to go further either to book a call with you or to do whatever transaction you want off of them when they land on your website, so make sure that your website is loading quickly and because you not I mean customers will abandon the site, especially If you’ve got a shopping, cart, unday customers will live it if they have to go through hoops, and you know in order for them to to make a purchase, make it as easy and as seamless for them as possible and make sure that your site is really Really easy to navigate.

You know, because we’re dealing with a really small screen, so if you’ve got words that are spanning you know across the page, and you’ve got really big pictures that take up the whole screen. Guess what people don’t want to see that and don’t also forget to to end really really clean call to actions. Do not I mean and then tell your customer exactly what to do. This is what I have. This is what I want you to do, and this is why it’s safe to do it with me other than my competition.

You know, for example, you you, you can put a button at the head of your main page that says get directions or call today. That’s an instant call to action, because people are on their mobile phones. They will just easily click that button and then talk to somebody and make sure, on the other end of the line. There’s somebody like yourself who really knows what they’re talking about or not somebody who’s, just woken up.

People have no patience for you to get yourself together. You always got ta, be ready. That’s why I like what Will Smith says? Don’t try and say you need to be prepared. You always got ta, be ready so that you don’t have to get ready. You know you always got to be ready. Cuz. Now we live in a 24-hour global village. You know you need to stop thinking out of the 24-hour box. You never know where you’re you know, clients are going to be searching you from and what time they find you and what time they need to sprechen zie with you, so mobile optimization is also very important, like I said right now, if you’re on a computer or If you’re, looking at a computer or facing a computer press the button f12 alright, and then it will shrink your website so that you can see how it looks like online.

Alright, you’re right Anna says, love the point about why it’s safe to do so. Oh absolutely, Anna, look at this. Anyone with the t-shirts and a pair of sweatpants can start a business these days. You’re not I mean so. Your man worked so hard to get to where we at right now, and you know, we want to make sure that our clients know that we’ve got the social proof. We’ve got the goods and they are not just going to be throwing money.

You know into something: that’s not going to work for them and they’re not going to get value so yeah. You need to show the customer that, yes, it is safe to actually do business with me and that’s why you need to have SSL Certificates. All of that stuff, we could always talk about. If you book a coal with me, and then you know, we can figure out how we can actually help you by actively helping you.

The reason for this show today is to just show you all expand your mind. A little bit of what is possible and what you can actually do in order for you to actually be seen by our audience, since Facebook has sort of stopped them that the reach of pages. You know you know business pages in the newsfeed, alright, so about the mobile, optimization and stuff like that. Google will actually penalize a website if it’s not optimized for mobile.

You know, and the penalty is you’re not going to show up in the search engines, because they know that at least ninety two percent of their traffic is coming in from a mobile phone, and I just want to indulge you right now. Can you type in the number one if you’re reading this show on a mobile phone type in the number two, if you’re, using an iPad and type in the number three, if you’re, reading this on a laptop or type in the number? Four, if you’ve put me onto a big screen cuz, you can do that.

You know that right, if you’re in front of a smart TV right now, you can actually stop reading this show on a big screen. That’s pretty cool Julian Bundy Vidal. Has he got my man hope you had a fantastic weekend right there right see it’s mobile okay, so that’s where your your audience is also viewing from from the mobile phone all right. So also, once you you, your aesthetics, your website is looking cool.

It’s looking all mobile-friendly take advantage of what is called link building all right link building is is something that a lot of people don’t understand. Take it as if you’re going to be the president of your state all right, and then you have a lot of people. Voting for you, so every link that is coming from a credible site is like a vote for you. So the more you get votes from people that are from credible sites the higher the ranking you get when it comes to ranking your page.

All right is that is that an easy, I understand, um, you know um explanation to link building, because people forget or people are tricked into getting links from dubious sites which are not going to help them at all. You need very strong links that are coming from dot edu sites, dot, gough, dot, au. All of those credible sites are from University. You know sort of websites. That actually say. Yes, I think Julian’s website is credible.

I think look Maroni’s website is credible. Then you can show it to the rest of the people, because Google, if you want to understand it, it’s like a library every time somebody knocks on Google’s door through a search and is asking for a website or is searching for something. Google has to present that person with content that comes in to cinder in the way you know of a website, in the same way that a librarian gives you a book.

So they want to make sure that the book that they’re giving to you is a good book. It’s going to you know satisfy whatever questions you might have and that’s what Google also does. So you need to engage in really legitimate, whitehat link, building all right, um Nico says: have you got time to chat about public figure Facebook profile? Absolutely we can have a chat I’ll, send you through a link to my calendar, so that we can quickly have a chance and find out what it is that you are asking regarding that.

Okay. So what I’m talking about link building? These are the thoughts that your website is getting from other web sites. So you get these through blogging. You get these through guest blogging. Every time somebody mentions your website on their own website or when you, when, when you or your website, is mentioned by credible sites like Facebook et Cie, Google uses that as credibility, all right, so link building is a great way to actually show your search engines or Google or Bing or Yahoo that your website is actually popular, every link that you is like a vote.

So if you build links the right way, you know you getting very high quality links rather than a bunch of low quality spam links, because a lot of people just get spam links from India and most of them are linking to like porn sites. Those are not going to help you at all. You need relevant blogs and you need relevant links that are building. You know your the credibility of your own website and he will actually prove to Google that your small business website is relevant and is of high quality.

So so, whatever you’re doing right now, if you have been doing stuff with links and linking please find out from your web developer or web designer, are they using black hat tricks or are they using white hat? You know tricks right there and you can get your links from local news sites. They might run an article about you the moment they mention your your sites there. That’s a so find local business owners or bloggers that are willing to to link to your website as well, and you can also return the favor by writing blogs about them.

You know on your website so that you can, you know, share the juice links or you can do interviews with people and every time you put their website on there. They will also, you know, reciprocate by mentioning your website, which is also yet another vote for you Ray now Nichols under says people think they they don’t need a website. Well, those people – I don’t know what what worlds they live in because right now, if you really really look at it, Facebook has sort of cut the reach of you know the profile pages.

If that’s what you’re asking and you’re thinking you don’t need a website, then I also think that if you’re dealing with websites as your full marketing strategy, it’s like building a house on quicksand. You know during the summer all right when it starts raining. It’s going to it’s going to sink in. You know why, because Facebook is bourret, audience bourret, ground, burrowed territory. So if you don’t have your own platform to bring go back, how are you going to have credibility? How are you going to? How are you going to have anything to show that who are you as a person, because the one thing about Facebook is, you have to continuously repeat yourself for people to understand who you are look at what the Facebook newsfeed is like.

Nikhil you’ve got your ante. You’ve got your partner, you’ve got, you know somebody who is putting on an Advent and then you’ve got your profile or whatever. You know, profile page that you have. People are not coming to the Internet to see what you’re up to they’re coming to see what Sally or what auntie Sally’s cats are up to people that they actually know, and Facebook has caught on to that. So if you, unless maybe the your audience is people that live within your household, nobody cares all right.

So you should actually I mean, make people see things differently, but I feel like. If you don’t have a website, you actually don’t have a business. You actually don’t have a platform, because that’s what your you’re supposed to be having as a business, a platform that gives you the authority to sell. How do you sell to people if you don’t have your own website? Okay, one other thing that people should really look at is: do you know the keywords that people type into search for your kind of work? Can you just type in one keyword that you think people are using? You know to type your to find you maybe on Google, Bing or Yahoo can, or even if people are using to ask Siri to get to your business, what would they have typed in the search engine in order to get you know to where you are because Keyword research should actually be a mandatory part of every small business.

You know in your digital marketing strategy, because the way you’re going to write your contents the way you’re going to reach out to your audience. If you don’t know what they say about your business or how they find you or what words they use about your business, then you’ve lost them. I keep talking about this story about a about a dentist in manda. I think by now he’s read the message. Oh every time I walk past, there’s a sign outside that says: new patients.

Welcome, guess what I am NOT a patient. He might call me that, but I don’t identify myself as a patient. All right are you walking around saying? Oh, my god, I’m a patient! I’m looking for a dentist, no I’m a human being that has a sawtooth all right. So if you’re, not speaking to your audience in the language that they actually understand or in the way they see the world or in the way, they actually viewed themselves as you’ve lost them, trying to say what I mean.

So you need to really know what key words are your audience using to get to find you even on Facebook, even on whatever social media? What hashtags are they using to reach you? Because if you don’t know that, then you might as well close shop. You know cuz, you can use this business key words for so many things. You know because, right now you might be spraying and praying to your audience. If you don’t know the keywords that they use to find you, I suggest that you stop whatever you’re doing and actually go and use tools that will help you find out.

What are people saying about the business that we are presenting to them? You know and a great way to find out exactly what terms people are using to search you know for your services or your business products or or whatever it is that you do. There’s a there’s tools like you know, AdWords key planner. All right, you need to get on top of that Google Trends what people are actually typing into the search engines.

You can also use that to create content. That’s relevant, there’s also a tool called keyword, tool, dot IO. That will also show you what people are actually typing into the search engines so that they can find the type of work that you’re doing or even some such recommendations. Every time you you, you, you you, you read, you hit a block, find out if you’re a dentist find out what people are typing into Google and then use that to create your content.

You know every time Google tries to complete a search for you and Google. That means somebody has tried to type that into Google. You know all people are searching for all of those boxes. Those things help you figure out. What else are people looking for that? I can be of service to my audience, you know, and then you can insert those keywords into the pages of your website, just try and make it as natural as possible so that it makes sense within the content that you’re putting out in your blog posts.

You know, and one other thing that I don’t see a lot of people doing is actually asking for email addresses. You know as soon as somebody lands on that page. Can you tell me how many people have an email strategy within their business type in the number? One is you’ve got an email strategy type in the number two. If twenty eighteen is the year that you’re going to think about it type in the number three, if you need help with an email marketing strategy, you see because I can’t remember the last time I went through and lying in, a retail store or something like that, And the cashier didn’t even ask me for my email address: it’s become so natural now, if that people are coming to your website, maybe people are busy.

Maybe somebody is you know, fixing dinner or they’re trying to wipe their daughter’s bottle or whatever. It is because I’m talking about myself or they’re in public transport get their email address so that you can always send them relevant information. Depending on what landing page, they landed on your on your site because people just coming to your website and you’re not doing anything about them or retargeting them or trying to get them to get back to you.

That’s a waste of advertising money. If you’re advertising to get those leads, you know so yeah. That’s easy. It’s like a check-in checkout ask your customers for their email address and once you have your customers, email address, respect that don’t just spray and pray just because you know they’ve, given you the the email address, you now have to seek permission from them by being relevant By engaging them by actually educating them and inspiring them, while providing value and positioning yourself as a person that can serve them with whatever product you’ve got on them, because if you don’t there’s always online reviews, you know and online reviews, you can’t you can’t change them.

So don’t spam people but make sure you’re being relevant and that’s where it helps you actually own a space within the online space, because if you have people’s email addresses, you have given you permission to sell to them. You know, and then one other thing if you still are adamant that Facebook is the thing for you just give Facebook live and try. You know, try and if you’re doing it maybe twice a week, try and increase your life articles.

You know what, because people really now want to communicate. People really now need to see if you’re, the right kind of person who can sort out their needs, they need you to help them by actually helping them. So it can be a great way to actually add that human element to your small business marketing strategy. In any case, what are you too busy doing chasing shiny objects instead of creating and relating to your audience? You know so all of those people that you know one one thing that I want to advise you to do is when you are at a live event or at a geek, try not to get too excited and go alive, because people are expecting to see you And one thing happens is I’m talking about me personally and then they don’t see you.

They see other people then automatically you’ve. Given that person they’re reading all the credibility and that’s it you’ve lost that person only try and go live when it’s you or it’s something to do with you tonight I mean because that person also has people that can take a live article off of them. So you know it’s just an option that enables you to connect with your customers in a more personal level.

So don’t abuse it do not. I mean just like right now, I’m really being considerate of what people are saying and also engaging them in a certain way. You know – and this is a bonus if you go like on Facebook or maybe on Instagram, your followers would actually start getting notifications that tell them that your life, so don’t take advantage of that. If people notice that your colleague real content is not valuable, then they’re just going to skip and the more your articles don’t get seen the more Facebook puts them down the you know the the the ranking order so yeah, it’s just one of those things.

I really hope this article is going to help you, because a lot of people really are lost right now as to what to do how else to reach out to their audience. And I really want to help you by actually helping you, because all these strategies that I’m talking about this is just top off the cuff type. I’m you know stuff that you know when we sit down. I really want to personalize it, and you know with you.

So that we can actually help you be, do and have a business, that’s profitable and enjoyable type in the number three, if you’ve readed it up until now, and you really have questions that you want me to personally answer pertaining to your business in the meantime. Thank you so much for tuning in and enjoy the ratio that

I see what you did there: Okay, We created a signal, So we let Google know They were like “, Hey, Listen: here’s our business “ We’re listed on all these Different directories “ and we offer all these different services.” Okay, so we build this kind of net right.

Yeah, the web, Okay, so that’s one interesting thing:,’cause. What you just told me is that when people search for it right – And I wrote an interesting article about search and discovery, And how that unfolds today, Because you see number of searches on Google, has been the same since 2012. Okay And the number of People using the internet has skyrocketed. Okay, So what that means that these days people are searching less and less, but when you count it up, For a search per one person it equals to one search per day.

So that’s not a lot right. But when you look at a social media, people started spending time more then, and when you calculate time, They spend on social media, they spend around 50 minutes. A day on social media, So people are shifting From search to discovery, And what do you think about it, I mean I partially Agree with you on that, and the reason for that is that something that you won’t see with just on Google search results.

Yeah is the information of voice Voice is taking up a Huge market (, mumbles ), That’s the thing yeah And it’s a huge thing. You know I mean And that’s another whole other frontier to talk about. But you know it’s Optimizing SEO and all that That’s another role that Plays within you know, voice, But that’s, I feel, like that’s a whole other topic of discussion, But I mean there’s still –. It’s still a very used platform Because for a lot of the People that I work with and my ideal clienteles, There are the old — and it’s like think of how Do your customers think where are your customers at And for me I know that my demographic is 40- to 60-year-olds.

That work. You know at an office sit at a computer Yeah And I need to think like them about what are their search terms and what are they looking for online And that’s what I try to Implement in using my websites when they are doing, search and discovery, they’re finding articles about hey, how much does a article cost? How long does it take a article to be made, I’m creating all this different content, Yeah and that’s the thing That yeah, That’s the thing What you are saying: Is when people search for this article services, you just give them the article, because article is a very good media right.

Correct So give them a article how to do it and how to reach it, But now that we kind of see the people shifting towards discovery, Am I saying that right, Uh huh: What do you think will Be the role of article Because, right now it’s Like explaining how to do what you are searching for, but in the future, as more and more people are heading towards discovery, what do you think will Be the role of article Well, I mean, I think, The current role of article on top of educations are going to be retention.

You know what article really works, for you know small businesses, Okay, It’s all strategy really because you implementing A article into your website So, like let’s say you are a dentist Yeah. Now you have a article on your website and we helped you rank to get there. Now someone clicked on the Google 3 Pack and they see a article there Now they’re spending 30 seconds to maybe two minutes. Yeah, that’s true: if they’re entertained, Enough on your website, because they’re reading a article They’re, not spending Time reading the content and that’s something You have to understand You writing content.

You’re doing it for Google For Google to understand — Okay for the algorithm, Exactly Okay And then you producing article content, that’s for your consumer! To be able to understand what you’re doing And the way that that Plays out in two ways is that the article helps Your client understand what you do, but then It also helps you keep your client on your website longer And the way that that strategy works is that now that the client Is spending more time on your website, your bounce Rate decreases with Google So then to Google.

It’s like hey. This person went and clicked on this dentist and now they’ve spent three Minutes on this website, Normally other dentists. In the areas people are spending 30 Seconds to a minute and they’re clicking off: Okay, This website is more relevant to what People are looking for because they are spending more time in it. Okay, I see So to Google they’re going to favor You because they’re, like you’re, providing — All the care about, is user experience.

Okay, that’s very interesting because that kind of links up to something that we spoke earlier. You told us that social media is not the best place to be for small companies. Why is that? Yes, and no So for small businesses, Okay, If I was to give –, If I was given a marketing budget, I wouldn’t spend time…. I get a lot of companies like “ Hey. Can you do social media for us?” And it’s to me Yeah is not the best strategy, but it all depends on What you’re trying to do Now, if you’re selling this product, I would spend money on social Media creating article content.

I would call my buddy Mole. He does lifestyle brand articles, ( Stanley, laughs ) And be like “ Mole. I Got this great product “ Create a article for me..” Yeah, I would then advertise Through social media through YouTube to sell this product, but the thing is when you’re A service-based business and I’m just going to Keep using a dentist Yeah, I don’t want to see your Article on my YouTube feed, I don’t want to see your Article on my Instagram feed cause.

I don’t care about — Like when people go to the dentist when they look you up it’s because they’re in pain, And they want a fix right now and then Yeah So, unless –, If you’re a dentist, a article that you can do is How to Brush My Kid’s Teeth, How to Floss. There’s like those little Things that you can do that you know you can bring some Sort of value to people but for the most part, If I’m on my Instagram and you’re, not a hot Doctor, like most girls like to look at ( Stanley, laughs ): I don’t care about seeing That kind of stuff, So you have to understand the mentality of you, Know your clientele So going back to what we Were saying rewinding, it is that if social media Plays part of your strategy that after we optimize your website and now you have SEO and your Rank – and you have a article, I would then re-target You using social media.

Ok, I see so you would use social media as re-targeting Correct for people who already showed intent Exactly they already Visited your website, they know that you exist Okay, but people who, for example, are –. Let’s say we have these people right who are following some kind of dentist or stuff like that. That are Interested in this topic, right, Maybe dentists, are not like the best example in this case, Let’s maybe shift it to Whatever institute you want eCommerce, Let’s shift it to eCommerce and, let’s say sneakers right, It’s hot! So let’s say you have these people who are interested In sneakers per se as a topic, So wouldn’t you then try to Target them somehow, with article Just kind of build your Awareness about your store, Yeah, but I mean but That’s different, though, because I feel with if You’re selling sneakers Yeah in the market like if You’re in New York City, different situation, Like you, have to play to your market and not every –.

Like that’s the thing, not every strategy is Going to work for everyone, You’re in New York, City and You sell custom sneakers Yeah, you could do a lot of advertisement.,’Cause there’s a lot of outreach, but for me in my local Market, you know a sneaker. I would advise you to not Even to start a sneaker store, ( Stanley, laughs, ) The money you’re going To spend on overhead to start a sneaker store start it outta your garage.

Okay, so is there any Product that will be hot. Well, it’s not so much about –, It’s services versus products, Yeah They’re two different Marketing strategies, you know what I mean: Okay, I see what what you mean: So yeah.’Cause, it’s like not Everything’s going to work for –, I have a client that he Sells medical bandages and he wanted to do local search. I’m like dude, that’s not like –, It’s about being smart with your money and what you’re going to do Like for you to wan na.

Do local Search for medical bandage, it’s not smart allocation of your funds, Like you know, you’re, better off targeting people on social media that own medical department stores, Okay, If you were going to do that, you know what I mean: Mhm But it’s like having an understanding of who is it that you’re trying to reach to, and then you have to contextualize Your marketing to them, Okay, Okay, now I’ll circle back a little bit; Okay, because what you did Is you used YouTube for marketing to dentists right? You showed this article that You made for dentists, Correct, Basically just testimonials right.

I took –, I found a dentist That I wanted to work with Yeah and then I found a bunch Of really good reviews that he had online and I made a little 30 second article of it, and then I ranked it on YouTube. I just love it, And I was like hey saw, you had a really great reviews. I made this article for you check it out. It’s ranked on the first page of Google or YouTube Okay, Okay, so that was kinda unconventional way.

You Used YouTube for the dentist, I would say right. Correct And right now we see a like a huge rise of Tik Tok right, Yep At this point, I believe it’s higher than Facebook, if I’m correct It could be, The user base is skewed. So young right now that you know for the — And there’s still a lot of people even in this pro-group Yeah that have never used Tik Tok before Yeah. That’s true. I Haven’t used it myself? Okay, so there you go Like I spend a little bit of time because it is emerging article Okay and it’s the same way that Insta — When I started Instagram, it was 15.

Second articles, Oh yeah, I remember that I needed to compile a Story into 15 seconds Yeah, I remember that Those things evolved The same way: Instagram Used to not have Stories Snapchat had Stories, they –. You know what I mean. These are all feature-based. Okay, all Tik Tok needs to do right now. — But Snapchat was never used commercially, though Yeah there was Was it There was ads in there like? I think, a really great strategy that used to work for Snapchat is when you used look at a map and see where people were at Mhm, you could then do service-based — So like something that I saw a lot with Redbull in my area.

Is that Redbull somebody — A friend of mine, used to work for them. They used to go on Snapchat and look at all the hotspots. To see where they were on weekends and then Redbull would go out to those areas. Oh and promote Redbull I see that, like a heat map Exactly!’Cause, they knew where all the heat map was at, where All the people were at Okay, so that’s one way to use Snapchat Correct, And what would be the way to use Tik Tok? I don’t know Okay, It’s new! It’s new! So have you ever seen? — Influencers Influencers ( Stanley laughs )’Cause, like it’s really Easy for you to go –.

I have a friend right now. His name is Lucky Goats, Kid’s, 22 years old. He makes dog articles. He makes funny skit with his dog This kid’s 22 years old, He’s getting paid 150 bucks a day Mm; hmm To make a funny article: Okay, -‘Cause he has music producers now,’cause. He has about 350,000 followers, Yeah But music producers want him to use their songs on his articles for them to get exposures. What Yeah, but that’s the thing, 22 years old, if you got paid to make a 30 second article for 150 bucks like dude, that’s like –, Okay, I’m getting to Tik Tok Yeah man! It’s a young platform that Yeah, it is for you to reach to get a lot of reach.

It’s not hard. Are you on Tik Tok I am Okay, so what are you doing there? Nothing ( Stanley laughs ), I’m consuming I’m consuming. I’m learning I’m seeing what people are doing Like what I’m most amazed about Tik Tok is the young creative people and their ability to tell stories in a very funny and different complex ways. Isn’t it like one there’s a short article, It was like Vine, I mean, there’s articles That are 15 seconds long and there’s articles that you know they’re 10, minute — or one minute long, but there’s also –.

I could shoot a article and you could take my article and you could collaborate on that article. Okay, I got it Which you see people doing things that I’m like whoa? I didn’t even think about. That you know what I mean Like taking really out: Of weird context, articles and putting them together, but it’s — Okay, I see That’s where I think you know where article’s going to Change because you know for a lot of what we do now.

It’s — The consumers I market to are a lot older, But eventually that’s Going to skew down so you have to — The same way that you have to change your article format for YouTube than you do for Instagram. And for Facebook, Okay, You’re going to have to change that article messaging to be Able to reach those people So the same way: — On Tik Tok right Exactly so, if using You know different GIFs and things like that within your article and using these different motion: graphics, you’re speaking to the Young demographic, too, Okay, I see So you have to be able to –, So me right now.

I just want to consume and learn, see what the kids are doing Then. Also it’s a really great Place to find young talent, You know what I mean: Okay, yeah Like for me being able To reach out to a kid, be like hey, Like cheap influencers at this point, right, Exactly cheap influencers, But even no creative people, Yeah -‘Cause: it’s a lot easier for me to hire a 15-year-old to make another Article for a 15-year-old than for me to hire a 30-year-old to make a article for a 15-year-old There’s a disconnect Yeah I mean at this point when you Get some kind of work where you need to market to young people.

You already got it right. You know where the place Is and how to reach it Exactly Okay. Okay, so that’s it! Thank you! A lot man. It’s been a pleasure to talk with you. For sure man All right, a pleasure Okay: cheers ( laughing ) Peace. Okay, that’s been Actually, the first time I did this kind of shit How did you like it

How To Build A Brand | How Important Is Social Media & Branding To Success?

Interestingly, my feedback on that is that branding on social media is nowhere near as important as your brand. What I mean by that is social media is a completely personal thing who you are and how you show up on social media is more important than anything you have to do anything you have to sell it’s all about what you say, how you say it, how You come across how you resonate with people.

Are you listening? Are you engaging? Are you commenting? Are you giving feedback? Are you sharing? Are you adding value, you know, are you a thought leader? Are you a Content sharer? What is it that you want to do? How do you want to show up on social media? Because, whilst your branding is important from a for a business perspective, your branding is important because your brand and who you are and who your business is and how you’re showing up is associated with that branding.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vaz3jOKsuDM

So that brand identity and the brand married together, the two are connected their associated. They have a reputation to each other, so you just need to make sure that if you’re branding is going to be successful in a way that when people look at it, they trust it they value it and they want to buy from it. Then you need to make sure your brand and your your personal identity of your business, your reputation, what you’re known for what people say about you when you’re, not there, the key credibility and trust factors behind what six behind that face.

You know what is it what’s? Building muscle in your business, what’s the skeleton of what you do when you have those two things that come together then it becomes very important, but you need to make sure that with social media it is all about your personal connections about your relationship with people. It’s about being fully present, it’s not about broadcasting at people or throwing jelly at them and hoping that some of it sticks it’s about engagement.

It’s a out. You know it’s about adding value to people, and you know if you want people to like and share what you do, then you need to go and like and share what they do. The first of all you need to like genuinely like it. You know, there’s no good, you having a load of followers and you see their content. You think what a load of rubbish, but you like it anyway, that’s not congruent and it wouldn’t be congruent for them to do that with you either.

It’s very unlikely that you’re going to follow each other in the instance, so you might want to do a bit of a social media purge to get rid of people that don’t really add value to you, because if they’re not adding value to you, you probably aren’t Adding value to them either and focus on building relationships where you can build a very, very strong brand, both there’s a personal brand and as a business brand.

So I hope that helps you if you’ve got any feedback, questions or comments, please pop them below this article and we will be in touch with some more branic tips very soon.

Blogging tips and tricks – Original content from scratch

I’m going to encourage you to do so. If you haven’t already logged into your blog, i’m going to encourage you to do the same that way as i’m doing this stuff, you can go ahead and do this with me, okay. So what we’re going to do in this article is we’re going to create a completely brand new blog post from scratch just out of the information in your head now, if that seems a little bit intimidating, if you don’t know what to blog about again, one of The reasons is that we don’t know enough about our subjects, what we’re going to blog about.

So, if you’re having problems with that, what you want to do is you want to just immerse yourself in the subjects that you’re learning about? Okay – maybe it’s about blogging. Maybe you want to start learning about blogging, so you might blog about your journey as you’re starting this blog so that maybe that one thing that you want to do, but whatever your subject is you just need to know enough about it and immerse yourself into that? Subject and then it will be quite easy for you now again, if you don’t want to do that, of course, you can always outsource this.

You can also have experts go ahead and do this for you and that way you don’t have to worry about it as well, but what we’re going to do is we’re going to create our own blog blog post from scratch. Okay, so here’s what we’re going to do now, first of all, we’re going to come over here and we showed you how to use this tool in another article, and this is what our blog post is going to be about. So this is our keyword, research.

What is the key word that we want to use and, of course, I’ve already done the research for for us. I got 128 ideas for some blog titles that I could use. Okay, that’s step number one. Now, what I’m also going to do is it is I’m going to come back over here and I’m going to go over to where it says, post all posts and I’m going to select, add new. Now you can come over here and you can go ahead and write this blog right now from scratch, but here’s what I like to do.

I take my ipad with me everywhere everywhere I go and take my and any time I got a couple of minutes left over someplace in one two, three, four five minutes. I might even not even finish my entire blog post all up one setting because I might only have let’s say a few seconds or so, but at least I’m starting to get my idea down and i’m going to create that at least write the article okay. So what I do is I take my blog post with blog or excuse me.

I take my ipad with me everywhere and I’m writing stuff now, if you don’t have a blah or an iPad or anything like that, what you might want to do is carry a notebook with you all the time and just jot down ideas and start writing what You’re going to post in your blog, so that’s what I did here. So what I do is I create all my blog posts in my iPad and then from there I’m going to post it on my blog.

So what I did is from my ipad. I email it to myself, so I’m going to go check my email, so here’s my blog post and it’s not perfect at this point and that’s what I’m going to do once I actually publish my blog. So, as you can see here, the title of this is in today’s article. Not only are we going to reveal the secrets of how to add three three to five hundred dollars per month? Add it onto your paycheck from your job through a series of governmental stimulus programs.

So what is the governmental stimulus program? It is free government money right. So then, that’s why I come over here put in free government money and it’s going to give me some ideas of what I’m going to blog about. But I did this. While I was on the monorail or I could’ve been on the Monroe uh. I could have been on a bus, I’m not even true Hera, where I was when I created this, but I just emailed this to myself, because now I’m ready to go ahead and publish it.

So what I’m going to do here is I’m going to select this and I’m just going to copy the entire thing. So a simpler way to do this, so I’m going to put my cursor here. Okay drag it across, but what I want to do is I’m going to select all so. I’m going to put my cursor right on top of this right click it. This little dialog box opens up i’m going to go, select also it copies my entire thing. Then, while my cursor is still there, i’m going to right click it again and i’m going to select copy and i’m going to come back over here and I’m going to right-click it and select paste.

And here is my entire blog article again. As you can see, it’s not perfected, there’s some things that we’re going to do with it still, but right now your main objective is to get as much content on your blog as you possibly can. That’s your main objective. Okay, now you come back over here. So free government money to start a business. That looks like a good based upon my topic, that it looks like a good blog post.

So I’m going to come back over here and I’m going to post it right there. I might even be put to start 80 face vistas to get some little bit more keywords in there. That way. If anybody’s looking to start a home-based business versus a traditional business, they’ll see my article in there as well. Ok. So now I have my blog post in there now what I do is over here. We have some categories. Ok now I can’t remember if i’ve shown you how to do that, if you, if I haven’t, let’s, go ahead and do this again, so I’m going to add a category and I’m going to name this category.

Let’s just say I do it yourself DIY. Do it yourself, and but I’m also going to select alpha lifestyle, I’m also going to say, select frugal linköping and I’m also going to select career and I’m going to select business because the that’s that’s just to help people to to be a quicker search, help people To be able to find your blog, ok, something that we can also do down here is, we can add some tags, so we could use some of these keywords so that are found over here.

We could use that for tags, so we, but just like for you. The money goes like ads and bail out and government dimmu this stuff, like that. You might want to go ahead and do some research of what you want to use for your tags right. Okay, so that is all complete and then what I’m going to do after that is I’m going to go ahead and select, publish now, so I’m going to go ahead and publish it. It’s going to take just a few seconds there for it to load up.

Okay, so, as you can see here, it’s all published and it says you post and I could go ahead and check that out. If I wanted to I’m not going to do that right now, because I just what we want to do is just go out there and get some content out there correct. So I got my content out there and you want to do this as many times as you can. Ideally, you’d want to get 360 blog posts, but you might just by doing what you did right here.

You might not need that many. I only needed to let’s say 200 blog posts to be able to generate enough traffic for me to go ahead and make some money with it. So now, what we’re going to do is I’m going to show you how to, in our next article, I’m going to show you how to start editing this blog post to make it look nice and, and that way we can go ahead and start making some money With this okay, but we’ll do that in our next article, take care of one have a great day and we’ll see you in our next article bye, bye now,

Content is King! Bloggers are the best! Add more content to your digital world!

How To Build A Brand | Social Media Fears | Small Business Marketing

Now today, I’ve had a question from Vincent Britain, Dan who has come through via the article that biz crowd promoted for us last week on social media fears. Now Vincent has sent an email which says hello. Thank you for the article in biz crowd around social media fears. I am a little old-fashioned and can’t get over the skeptic view that social media, Facebook, Twitter, etc is quite tricky to handle with a lack of human resources.

It may be that social media is like marketing oxygen. However, I find it very difficult as a sole trader when I have so many other things to concentrate on. Do you have any suggestions or solutions? Yes, Vincent absolutely I do now it is tricky when you are working for yourself, because social media – and I mean there are so many social blogs that you can use to promote your business and promote you that you could end up just literally doing that as a Full-Time job and never making any money, and let’s face it, the point of using social media is to queue up some customers for you, so that you have tomorrow’s money as well as today’s money, while you’re serving the customers that you’re working with so you do have To be quite careful when it comes to social media because you could get caught up in the the same, I suppose trap that a lot of people do when they start using social media, which is to just go nuts on it.

And then you don’t end up getting anything else done. I know, because that’s what happened with me, so what I found the best thing to do was to just focus on one or two blogs. Now. The best thing you can do Vincent is to think about where your ideal customers are now. I don’t know anything about your business because you haven’t told me what you do, but I’m guessing that it’s something to do with property from your your email address.

Now, I would think about your ideal customers step into your ideal customers. Shoes think about their pain, think about what they’re going through. What what then, what frustrates them? What kind of panic are they going to be in or what kind of and a future mode are they going to be in because they’re that your customers are either going to be moving away from pain towards pleasure or they’re going to be moving towards pleasure, and Not even thinking about pain, so, for example, if you are a plumber, then it’s quite likely your customer might be phoning you up for to move away from pain, they might be moving or they might be in pain at the moment, a burst pipe, their kitchen might Be flooded, they’re going to be in a real reaction restate, so the best thing you can do is make sure you’re very visible, on a social blog and on your website in a way that they can access.

You quickly, they’re not going to want to go, searching hunting and surfing on the internet, they’re going to want to find you and they’re going to want to find you quickly. On the other hand, if open on that note, by the way, you should make sure if you have got something if you have got a product or service where you’re moving your customers moving away from pain if they’re in pain – and you are there to help him Move out of it then having a mobile website a website where they can find you very quickly online, and your number will come up on the on the phone that basically, it will recognize the device that your customer is using.

So if it is on a phone it’ll pick up that you’ve got a mobile website and it will display it so rather than them having to scroll down for everything your your mobile site will come up. It will be really really clear at the size of the face of the mobile or the smart device that you’re using, and you can make sure your number. You can just literally click on the number and call it, whereas if people are going to a website, you might have your number at the top of your website.

If it’s not mobile web ready, ready, they’re going to have to really zoom in and they might not be able to click on your number, they might have to type your number then by memory, because they’re looking at your website, they type in your number by memory Into their phone and they could get digit wrong and end up phone in someone else, get it really paid off and call the next person on the list, who does have a mobile-ready website that they can call from quickly if you are moving, if you’ve got a Service or a product where they’re moving towards pleasure, for example, and maybe you’re an interior designer, so somebody is more than likely going to come to you.

They have some kind of disposable income that they’re going to spend because they want their room or their space to be improved in some way, and it might be, they want you to give them more space. It might be that they want to create a space witches for their grandchildren or there’s going to be any motive. Motivation behind that, rather than a reactive, so they’re they’re going to be hanging out in a different place to the people who are going to want to find you quickly.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c2O_VUr5HPI

It’s very unlikely that somebody who needs a plumber straight away is going to go onto facebook and start looking for if their kitchen is flooded, they’re going to want to find you quickly. So you need to make sure you’ve got a mobile-ready website and I would make sure that you are then promoting that mobile ready website on your social blogs, Twitter and Facebook will be very, very good for you.

If you have that reactionary kind of service and they’re still very good for you, if you have the emotive service, where you’re moving them into a place of pleasure, excellent, in fact, I mean hairdressers, beauticians people that have a business consumer and a company business. They do very very well on on facebook and twitter, and you can also use Facebook Ads. You could use LinkedIn, but I would sort of suggested that in that case, Facebook or Twitter would be brilliant ways of you getting in front of your ideal customers.

What you got to do is really step into their pain or step into their pleasure. Why are they searching for you and where are they likely to find you? Where are they hanging out? Where are they spending most of their time? So you can start getting onto the on their radar can start creating and sticky things in their mind, putting things out there. I call it a heartbeat, so you’ve continually got that heartbeat of your brand beating in front of them and – and you need to make sure you’re doing that on the social blog they’re wrong, because they might well find you on social media.

They might have a problem and think, oh, I saw Vincent promoted something the other day his number. I know it’s on facebook i’ll go and get it from there. So if you’re already creating those messages and you’ve got that heartbeat, that’s constantly beating and constantly visible in front of them, then that’s a great way because you’re the first person they’re going to think of when they need you or they want what you provide and Facebook And Twitter have and they have produced the best results in all the social campaigns that we’ve used, certainly over the last three to four years and that’s on a business to consumer level.

If you’re selling business-to-business, you really really want to be on linkedin, but why i’d suggest you do is really photo find out where your customers are spending most of their time on whatever social blog. That is and then make sure you’re in front of them at least once or twice a day. I wouldn’t do it more than three times, because that can come. You know it just can get repetitive and it can get in their face if you’re doing it through facebook with Twitter.

You do need to be on there a bit more because there’s more people who are putting things up there throughout the day and you’re, just whatever you’ve posted, is going to go straight to the bottom of that line. If they are very well connected and they have a big network of people, they’re going to be seeing a lot of updates – and you don’t want yours to be at the bottom, so think about them. Where you customers are hanging out and at what times, they’re likely to be online when they’re, looking for you or what you provide or when they’re just chilling out, and you want to get on their radar, you want to get in their conscious.

Yes, now I use social media not just to get new customers, but I also use it to interact with our existing customers. It’s a very, very good way of you constantly providing value and adding wow experiences to them without you having to phone them up every day or spend money on expensive advertising. So I find it’s really good. All of our customers join us online. We make sure that they get different things to what we post on other things, for example, at miles, and I have created the brand accelerator program, which is a very, very exclusive program.

It’s like doing a three-year branding degree, a three-year marketing degree, a three-year business degree, stroke MBA, and what we’ve done is taken all the fluff out of that and condensed it. So the people that are on our program are only doing the things that really matter to building that business. Taking that idea from being a seedling or a thought or something that you’re already providing, but you want to create a much bigger presence for it.

You want more visibility, get it in front of people in a much bigger way, so we’ve created that program and we create these daily article tips like we I’m doing for you now Vincent and, if you’re reading and you have the same challenges as Vincent. Hopefully this advice is helping you and – and we’ve got that program, but we don’t put articles like this in that particular group. That’s a closed group and we put Wow articles in there added value articles things that no one else sees and we’re we’re giving added value to those people who are spending money with us on our program and that’s an ongoing thing.

So so you want to think about how you can also use social media to communicate with your existing customers and how you can communicate with a different list of prospects. People who you want to be customers, because you would communicate with them in a slightly different way. Otherwise, it could come across as spammy to people who don’t know you yet and over the top to people who are already spending money with you.

So I do different things with different people. Now I’ve done is. Last year I created a social media series where a 10-step series which gave information about social media and how we use it and how we advise that you would use it in your business. So there’s 10 articles they’re all on YouTube and I’m going to post the links to them here underneath this article. So you can go in and you can read all of those articles as a series if you want to and what also say is in an issue.

5 of brand brain magazine, which you can go in by now at brand brain magazine com in issue 5, which is out right now – and there are, let’s, have a look. Well, we’ve got articles which are on and how to leverage the power of facebook brand management. How to manage your reputation on the line which is very relevant to social media, social proof, the psychological technique that will win you customers, so that that’s another article that again will really help you till to win customers, and you can use that offline and online.

How to build your brand equity online cost-effectively and the wonderful world of facebook tabs so there’s 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Verse 5 articles out of a whole magazine which are on social media and there’s loads of other articles in there as well. And if you go to and if you go to our main website in the drop down menu, the second option in is a drop down and you’ll, see that we have past issues with bran bran magazine on there.

I’ll put the URL below this article. So it makes it easier for you to get them, but you can see past publications as well and what’s in those and if you want to to get past publications that have got amazing content in and a lot will be around social media. A lot of things will help you with your social media efforts, and then you can buy those magazines. You can buy the back issues as well, so I’ll make sure I put the links to those Vincent.

I hope that this article has helped you and it’s given. You some clarity so that you don’t get confused and start trying to get on every single social blog just get on one or two, and do them really really well and you can do them throughout the day. So, as a busy person and the only person in your business as a sole trader, you can pop on Twitter when you need to the toilet or when you’re just about to get in the car.

And then you know before you set off just post. Another little thing – and you know, there’s lots of stuff you can do in the articles. I’ve created I’ve, given you some ideas about what you could promote and what you can talk about on social media and where you can get content ideas as well. That will help you so blimey. So hey I’m Sam, and this is Emma. So I’m constantly knowing social media’s important and you need to be on it. Or your thought is I have to like. I have to comment. I have to constantly post Actually Emma. I know you’re the social media Queen here. So what is some of your Tips on saving time on social media, First and foremost start a social media content calendar.

This is a great way to help you plan ahead, also to help you get Creative with your posts, because it is all about quality, not quantity, So to improve the quality. If it you want to plan ahead, To get those holidays in there with some cool posts, Also think about it. This way you got Instagram Facebook Twitter. How often do you post I get that asked all the time And the worst thing you want to happen.

Is you wake up it’s Thursday and you Haven’t posted anything since last Thursday, So with Instagram, post At least once a week, But I recommend a couple times a week – Also take advantage of those Instagram stories’cause, that’s really to me easier to fit in because it’s more Raw unpolished content, So it’s a really great Way to some like behind the scenes, I know we’ve done it here on set And then for Facebook again post a couple of times a week And think about what photos, you can add, Show photos of your team Showcase.

Your expertise share something that’s entertaining and of value, Educate me and then Twitter. Now Twitter. You can get A little more frequent to stay on top of that newsfeed, So you can be posting every day Once a day, maybe twice a day and keep it short and sweet. Like me, And informative, I wasn’t going to say it And you might be thinking I’m a seasonal business, so I’m going to like take some time off with that social media calendar Eh wrong, Let’s say: you’re a hotel.

It’s the off season show me a picture of the beach Wish. You were here, Happy get excited about it. Take this and put it top of mind for your customers, your guests, so they don’t forget about you throughout the year Wow Emma! That’s all great and it’s Valuable information, However, I’m only one person And it feels like it’s a lot to do. Do you have any kind of Tips on how to kind of go about all that.

Yeah totally So I will bring up, Go Daddy, Social. We are a do it for you service, we’re on that team And we’ll take this Completely off your plate, After all, it’s a full time job So we’ll give you the Writers to handle all this, If you want to handle this on your own Rad, there’s hootsuite TweetDeck, those are scheduling apps, So that can help you to plan ahead and get that content. You know think about it ahead of time, Ready and it’ll post on your behalf.

In the future, I also recommend to Keep in mind, especially on social media, that you don’t always have to create original content, Which does take more time. You can also share content from relevant folks in your industry. So let’s say you have a restaurant and you read this great tweet from Bon Appetit. Oh, my gosh click retweet. There’s your content for the day and it’s super relevant to your audience.

Maybe some cool recipes and cooking tips, Or maybe you are a landscape artist and you read something about on homes and gardens or better homes, And you get excited about it. You’re like this is something My audience will love Again: repost retweet And don’t forget user generated content. Your customers are already big fans of what you do. They might be taking photos of your food, your products capturing their experience.

With your services Pay attention to that when you’re mentioned and repurpose that Share it, retweet and That’s going to save you time, Just like the scheduling apps that I mentioned prior So I’m sensing a theme here that I don’t have to come up everything myself Exactly and that’s. What’s so cool about these Social media blogs They are very social and that, yes, it’s not always about You and it shouldn’t be Just dishing out your content, your expertise, sell, sell, sell.

You want to drive some Conversation and engagement with the help of your friends on social, Like other businesses in your industry, So I know one of my bad habits in the past is really just always being on social media. So do you have any kind? Of tips to kind of help with that Yes, you can definitely just set aside some time a window where you take that time to really focus on your social media content And also go and check out what other people are posting.

So you can get new followers. You can get eyes on your brand by just following, like minded people, And in addition to that, I’m a big fan of setting alerts and reminders. Oh yeah, I love to do whatever I can to declutter up here and take off my brain One less thing to think about. I am all for it. I live by my calendar, so I get that Yeah same You should see it mine’s color coded It’s ridiculous.

Oh mine’s bland So have an alert, Have a reminder and then, when that alert goes off this is your time to hone in and see you know who’s commenting on your post. Did you get any reviews And if you did take the Time to respond to those Read them and respond: In a personal manner, And any mentions that you have, Which I just talked about, User generated content: this is another great time to Check in setting that alert, like hey Sam, remember, see if Your customers are posting about you and, if so, acknowledge that, because this is clearly a Testimonial to your business, if they’re out there mentioning you Or taking photos of your services, your products Take advantage of it set an alert: Your users, your clients, your customers, they’re the best marketers for your business.

Another thing that I recommend for a good time saver is write out the copy before you post, So your caption. I see this all the time. With my influencer friends, They got that great shot, they’re ready to post that awesome photo on Instagram and then they’re Just hanging out stumped for words like Em Em Em. What do I say? I’m, like I don’t know, you’re putting me on the spot. So it’s something to Think and put time aside to put these captions, Maybe in a word doc, I often use my iPhone notes.

I see my influencer friends do the same So that way, they’re not rushed to come up with a witty creative caption. They have like this caption bank. If you will So you’re saying pretty much, you don’t have to do. Everything in the moment, You know you can plan it out Yeah and that actually brings up a good point. We’re talking a lot about captions and having a caption bank if you will, But also have a photo Bank, so if you come across some compelling photos that you think you might use one day to represent your brand or Your team or your business store those in a place where You can easily access them And just put them out there.

It’s going to save you so much time versus that day, you’re coming in to the kitchen, You haven’t posted on Instagram in a week and you’re like already rushing to get the orders out, Be like oh team, get Together, we’re going to do a behind the scenes photo, It’s like no. This is our busiest time of the day. People need to be served. Customer service is still important, So get a photo bank it’ll save you time in the end, All right, that’s a wrap comment below with your Favorite time-saving tip And make sure that you, like this article, subscribe to our blog and ring that bell to make sure you’re notified when our brand new content comes out.

This is The Journey

How To Build A Brand | Content Marketing | Small Business Marketing

That might need to now that things are changing so much on the Internet. Has we keep saying because the the behaviors of the people are using the googles and the Facebook’s and all the other social media blogs to get to your website is changing all the time and there are so many more people who are offering what you do and More websites going up that you’ve got to show some sort of innovation, and it might just be that your website is has been up there for so long now that there may be some broken links, web pages that don’t exist anymore, they used to have their or Links of sort of change site to a page that do exist and no, no, that people can’t get to them anymore.

So it’s really reveal your website because it may become time to redesign your web design. Now, one of the key things that may start to highlight that things are not going pyrite is that you might have started dropping down the rankings in the search engines. Now the search engines, as we know, keep changing their criteria on what matters to get you the ranking that you deserve. So if your website’s dropping other rankings, you might be thinking well, I’m still adding my content to the website.

I’m still adding links of high quality from the web outside websites into mine, yet is still not working well. One of the key factors that does make a difference to your ranking is the website itself, because if there are broken links in your website, Google will follow these and because they know that’s not a great example of customer experience, but the people that they’re sending to Your website they’ll start to drop you down the rankings.

Equally, if the web page is old and the older days it was, I had, images were slightly larger and the web page took longer to download again as far as Google’s concerned, even though broad bands fast, it means that people’s experience needs to be faster. Their patience is shorter and they want that information even more quickly and more accessible than before, crazy huh. That’s the state of affairs, so Google’s now look at your website to see how long to downloading how long it takes to download sorry and from that deciding whether that experience is going to be good for its customers and there are other factors as well.

So when you think about your website and your home page, if it’s really really busy and there you have too many decisions to make to take another step forward with you, then again. This is something that might be affecting how much of a bounce rate you have, in other words, how many people are coming to your website, landing on the homepage and they’re, not taking any further action they’re leaving at that point, because they feel is too busy doing Things they could do and therefore they don’t know where to start, because in truth, whilst we are live, complex lives, we actually do like things delivered easily excessively and in such a way that it’s any of a process.

That’s not going to take too long. So if your website is giving them too much of a process to think about what they got to do, the Tennessee is they end up doing nothing because they get frustrated and go look for somebody else, who’s delivering something of a little bit more ease. So here’s a top tip for this particular thing about redesigning your web design. Revisit your homepage. Look at all the links look at where there might be pages that no longer actually appear go to your blog post, because you might have reference to page in blog posts which have now changed their address or no longer exists, because those broken links of what Google’s Going to find then look at your home page and find out okay well as an overall home page.

Am I giving them too much information? Is there a article that demonstrates the same point that I’m delivering in content of those in a text? Format? Is this something i’m giving away straight away, so they’re getting value right from the outset and are therefore people come into the web page and engaging with it and following a pro through with it, because guess what? If google has the tools with which to find out? How many pages you have and how much time, they’re spending with them, do you think for a moment that perhaps Google is grading your website on the experience that other people having and therefore open to the idea of given that experience to others, based on how good That experience is absolutely because all the analytical tools out there are getting much more complex, much more sophisticated and they’re, using the information to make a decision on whether your website’s visible enough and even viewable enough.

Certainly, if is accessible enough, so take a look at your website, get someone else to take a look your website and take a complete journey through the whole website and make sure that it fits in with a nice easy, step-by-step process to get to the information that They want, does it have a good offer that they can get involved with you without having to spend any money with you whatsoever right now.

Is there something in the website that you can improve on the language that you’re using to make that experience greater to keep people on your website for longer? Well, that’s your tip today about your website. Even if you’ve only had the website up for a month or two and or even up to even up to a year – and you haven’t, looked at the analytics, probably to find out what people are doing to follow that process through with your website, take a look.

Now because you might find some very big gaps that can be easily filled, not sometimes just by improving experience on the website you have, or maybe just taking what you have and put into a better environment. That makes Google look at your website and find it is a better experience due to the content that’s on there and the way that the website actually downloads as well. Only just one more thing.

A bit of a postscript to this article is article: does each page have a article? Do you know the engagement and conversion of a website has articles is far greater than that without that’s because people, sometimes, if they’re, looking at your website on a mobile device or they’re looking at on a desktop where they have speakers or earphones they’re going to be Sometimes one read a article because it’s quickly to do it’s easier to do than imagine having to read right.

Well, that’s what people do so! That’s that last final tip check your website and see it as another articles, and the other great additional benefit of adding articles is that Google, if you string those in from YouTube or other mainstream article hosting sites, will actually know that the experience your customers are going To have is even more engaging because of that because it knows through owning YouTube, especially google, because I don’t youtube.

It knows how many people will read articles now, and it also knows, even though it’s not officially a search engine. It has way more than now half of the searches on the internet done through YouTube or rather than google. So if you have articles on YouTube and your articles on your website, guess what they’re going to start thinking, that’s a better experience. So hopefully, that helpful tip today has really made you think about taking some action I’ll be back for more tips really really soon bye.

Adwords Signup – Keyword Research – How To Increase Website Traffic Series

What’s a key word, my best explanation of what a key word is a key word can either be a single word or most commonly a string of words or Freight. A phrase for example, that the search bots will travel through your website and determine exactly what your content is all about. What’s a search bot, a search bot is a tool used by the search engines.

For example the Google bot the Bing bot the Yahoo slur. Those are all BOTS sent out by those companies to determine exactly what content and and to collect and gather data from our websites to determine exactly where they should be placed in these search engines. So the search engines compiled all of this data and they take these keywords and and they’ll determine exactly what keywords your website might rank for now.

Believe me, it’s a lot more complicated than how they determine which websites will rank where based solely on keywords. There’s many more factors that go into it. In fact, there’s over 200 known factors involved in the algorithm at Google anyways to determine exactly where your website will rank in search. Ok right back to keywords, so we know already that a keyword can either be a single word or a phrase, and we know that search BOTS use those keywords to help determine exactly what your website is about.

The third thing about keywords is some keywords: can be much more competitive than others to rank for so what determines, if a a word is competitive, obviously supply and demand? How many people are trying to rank their websites or or competing for that popular keyword or a phrase? So for an example: if we were to take the term lawyer, let’s say we’re in the city of Orlando Florida and we have a law firm and we want to write our law firm for the term lawyer, probably very competitive.

It’s actually one of the toughest niches to write for it’s a highly competitive, very expensive niche to rank for if you’re, a lawyer, sorry lawyers, you guys do make lots of money, though so lawyer is a broad term that we want to rank for as opposed to Family law, which is more of a niche down, subject we’re probably not as much competition if you were just ranking for lawyer. So if we want to narrow it down a little more, we could go family law or business law.

So those are keywords and then, as we niche them down, you would have less competition, so less competition means easier to rank for right. So it’s something to take into consideration now. I do not want you to think okay. Well, we’re just going to avoid all the general terms, because we’ll never have a chance of ranking for them. For the most part, that’s true. There’s established large websites with lots of Link’s pointing to them that have been around for years and it’s tough to overwrite those kind of websites with popular keywords.

But that’s not necessarily true of me. If they are ranking for popular keywords, that pie, we’ll call it a pie, is a very large pie that has a ton of searches per month. For that keyword and a chance, even getting a sliver of that pie is still quite good, as opposed to going for the small little pie of, say, family law vs. Lawyer. You could rank higher, say on page one for a family law as opposed to page three.

For the term lawyer, if you’re a lawyer in Orlando and just coming up with a new website, okay, so what if I told you, there was actually a way that we could determine or measure how. Often a certain keyword or phrase was searched for monthly. So in our example, we use the term lawyer in the city of Orlando or also family law. So if we compare those two and I plug it in to my free Google Keyword planner tool, I tells me that the term lawyer is searched for five hundred ninety times a month in the city of Orlando versus a hundred and forty times a month.

For the term family law, so approximately you know four times more popularly. The broad term lawyer is so, but still family law at one hundred and forty searches per month is still a valuable term that we could try and rank for. So how do you get that access to that free tool? I’ll show you right now I’ll walk you through how you can sign up for the free Google search tool and just follow along okay, so beings we’ve signed up for a gmail account or also, if you already have one in the previous module in step one.

We can step our sorry. We can skip that step and just simply when you’re logged into your Gmail account open up another tab and simply make you do a search for Google Adwords. Okay. So up top here we have Google AdWords pay-per-click online advertising. Now we want to simply sign up and create a Google AdWords account doesn’t mean you’re going to do any advertising and they have this free tool. The keyword planner tool within the Google Adwords so I’ll, simply click on start now.

Okay, once you land on this page, it’s very important to get this point here, we’re simply going to click on skip the guided setup and that will allow us to get to the keyword planner tool much easier than if we, if we have to go through the Whole setup process, basically it’s asking for your website and your email address and and we’ll get to that later on in module 3. If you are interested in setting up google adwords completely so for right now, we’re just simply going to click on skip the guided setup, and now it’s simply going to ask you for your email address, select which country you’re from and I’m just simply going to select Canada, most, you will probably be in the US, select your time zone and then your currency.

Now your time zone and currency cannot be changed once you set those up so make sure you set them up correctly. Just quickly enter my email address here. This is a demonstration account, so actually this email address will be gone after. I create this article so do not try and get all of me there and then we simply click on save and continue now here it will ask us to enter our Google account so we’ll click on next they’ve already pre-loaded, the email and it’ll ask you for The password once you’ve entered your password click on sign in and then it asks about a having some recovery stuff.

We’re not going to worry about that right. Now, click on done, you can add a backup phone number if you want or a recovery email again. This is just a temporary account for demonstration purposes, so I haven’t set those ax and then you will land at this page and you’ll notice a whole bunch of options. You can click on. We will look at more of those in more depth in module 3, but for right now all we’re interested in is at the top here, where it says, tools simply click on tools, then the drop-down appears and what you’re looking for is the Keyword planner.

So click on keyword, planner and here it says, find new keywords and get search volume data. So we want to search for new keywords using a phrase website or category or get search volume, data and trends and here’s another option that we can get new keywords. So we’re just going to simply select this. This middle one here get search volume, data and trends. So click on that and the first thing it says, is enter keywords so I’ll just simply type in lawyer and the next thing we wanted to under targeting right now.

It’s has all locations, so this is would give us the results for the entire world. We want to narrow that down so I’ll, just simply: click on that little pencil or pin there and where it says, enter a location to target I mean you could enter United States. You could enter Canada if you’re, you know a global audience or most likely. You are a local business and want to enter your city, or maybe even state or depending on the size of the service area.

You service so right now, I’m just going to put in Orlando so right up here, Orlando Florida, United States and I will click on save and so right now I’ve got one keyword in here lawyer, we’re searching in the City of Orlando USA, and I want to Get the search volume, so click on get search, volume and right now average monthly search for all ideas. It shows up 100 to 1000, so it gives you a range now that number I got earlier.

My Google AdWords account that I have is a an AdWords account. That’s had thousands almost you know tens of thousands of dollars through it lots of advertising. It’s it’s many years old and beings. I’m a longtime customer of Google. I get a little more accurate picture of data, so here you can see. There’s a big range. There might be 100 to 1000 monthly searches so for new years users of Google AdWords.

Until you build up a, I don’t know a history with with Google. You do not have access to dead, accurate numbers like I do so anyways. This is the tool that gives you an idea, at least what that search volume is so let’s say we wanted to be beings. This is not that accurate. Maybe we could change Orlando, let’s go and change this to United States, oops. So we’ll add the country of United States and I’ll just simply remove Orlando, so click on remove here and then click on save.

So now we have 100,000 to 1 million. The reason I did that so, each month, average monthly searches for the term lawyer in the United States is anywhere from 100,000 to 1 million. So it gives us a little more of an idea in the whole country what kind of search volume that is, let’s add another term here, so I’m going to simply put a comma space and my next term will be family law and over here I’ll click on Get search volume, so we know if we’re comparing the two okay.

Obviously family law gets lower search volume than lawyer, so anyways. It can give us an idea of the search volumes if you just start typing, in related keywords, to get an idea how popular those words are and if you should be including them on your website and and which ones are the other most popular, also you’ll notice. Over the to the side, here, it’s got suggested bid. If you are actually running ads now lawyer happens to be one of the most expensive pay-per-click advertising categories.

I guess you would call it and you know eight and a half dollars seventeen dollars, twenty seven cents. For somebody in your city clicking on family law, if you’re a lawyer trying to gain clients, anyways just gives you an idea of this of the AdWords tool and how we can use it to determine search volume of certain keywords related to your website. Okay, I need to show you another feature of the Google Keyword planner so to get to this page again.

Just simply, you would click on tools up top here and go down to keyword, planner, and that would bring you once again right to this page. Here will be where we have the three options so the first time we went through the middle option. This time we will select on the top option here, search for new keywords using a phrase website or a category, so click on that this pops down this time. You know for your small business.

You can type in whatever, let’s say your lawn care business type in lawn care, your a painting, business type in painting, services or painting beings. We worked with a lawyer before I’m just going to punch in family law here and then, if you wanted you could you know if you had a product category, if you wanted to niche this down, you could enter a few things here or competitors website, even if He wanted to or your website and it will crawl your website or your competitors website and give you some keyword, ideas but anyways we’ll stick with this.

We we have a keyword of our key phrase of family law. Again, we have Orlando here selected and at the bottom we will so we’ll click on get ideas. Now, what its going to do is spit out a whole bunch of terms related to family law that you could perhaps target and you’ll notice. In my account, I have a much more accurate data here, collection of how many searches per month and you’ll notice in the second column here competition, you know how competitive is it to rank for that or to advertise more specifically to advertise for those terms, so you’ll See here you know, beings were in family law, you’ll see divorce in the City of Orlando, roughly three hundred and ninety times a month.

That term is search divorce lawyers would be an excellent phrase to rank for. If you were a lawyer in the city of Orlando 170 searches per month, obviously it’s high competition. Somebody typing in divorce, lawyers is looking for a divorce lawyer. Obviously, and chances are if they hire your services as a lawyer, it’s you know the thousands and thousands of dollars. You could end up billing your client and that’s why over you’re here, you can see and again these aren’t Canadian dollars, not US dollars, twenty dollars and seventy one cents for that click.

That’s crazy! A lot of businesses that I advertise for again. You know landscaping or whatnot one two dollars for a click. This is just a general guide. I mean it doesn’t mean every click that you get if, if you’re a divorce lawyer in Orlando advertising, for that term doesn’t mean you’re going to pay $ 21, it might only be $ 4 or $ 5. This is just a guy died. It’s not anything! You know exact science to go by so anyways just going down here.

We can click up top here and just like Excel. We can arrange all the terms in ascending or descending order, so child supports a huge one here, right, search for or 5,400 times, but the term child support. If you’re looking you’re a lawyer and you’re trying to gain clients, is that really a term that you think will land you paying clients? That’s why it’s only you know four dollars and 24 cents a click here.

That’s why it’s low competition, it’s probably not going to generate people, it’s not at the end of that sales, funnel where people have their credit card out and they’re. Looking for that term and trying to hire your services lawyer 590 times a month attorney 480, so it just gives you an idea. You know what people are typing in in your business. So let’s change this to painting your painting business.

So now I wasn’t too accurate here. I guess abstract art, acrylic paint, paintings spray paint, probably not the best one, how about how about lawn care and we type in lawn care. You can see landscaping, lawn service, landscaping, ideas if you look at these high ones. Those are the ones. No, that’s not a good example lawn mowers, not something if you’re a landscaping company you’re not wanting to put in the term lawn more on your website.

People are not looking for landscaping services when they’re typing in lawn mower. They would be looking for lawn service. I mean that they’re. Looking for your for your services again here, you can see that’s a seven dollar and twenty two cent click lawn care services, Wow almost twelve dollars, that’s showing again, it’s not searched a whole lot. Seventy times a month, these are just general guidelines by the way they’re, not exact dead-on, so one maintenance, 7oa, so yeah lawn lawn care can be an expensive category as well, just showing you basically in the city of Atlanta.

How competitive is now that can change from city to city depending again on supply and demand? How many people are competing for those keywords, so that’s the Google Keyword planner tool and again, that is just looking for giving you keyword, ideas to use on your website. So what exactly do you do with those keywords, once you have a list of popular keywords? That’s great your your a lawn care service here or landscaper, and you say, yeah okay, lawn service looks like a you know, really good one that I need on my website.

People are in the you know, looking for those services lawn care services just start writing all those key ones down that you think people would be typing in lawn. Maintenance is another good one yeah. I know it’s only search fifty times, but those are the people at the end of the sales funnel looking for your services write all those down and what do you do with them? Well, let’s have a look, let’s type in Orlando family-law whoops, and I really can’t spell here: can I so Orlando family law and let’s see what comes up so you’ll notice in this in the results? Look at this one, two, three four ads at the top.

This map thingy, which will go in more detail in module four, if you want to figure out how to get your business on the map here, you look, you’ll see different attorneys and you know on these little red dots here that are listed. The large dots are these ones that are the top three here I’ll show. You we’ll discuss that as well how to get your business on the map, so we go down. Ok, now we’re into the actual organic as they call them or organic.

Is you know, unpaid for we’re not paying for ads? These are the firms that are ranking at the top for the term family law. So what? Let’s figure out? Why are they ranking for the term family law, so I’ll click on the number one result? Let’s have a look at their website, okay, so this one he has the word family and the title up here again family. Here, it’s quite prevalent right at the very top. One of the first things you can click on is family law he’s ranking for the term.

He I should say he or she, or this firm is ranking for the term family law. I mean kudos to the web designer, whoever designed this website they ranked first in a large city for a very competitive term, and – and these are you know again right here – the term family law. So those search bots that I was talking about earlier – they go through. They crawl this site; they they see the term family law.

Okay, this this page must be about family law. Now I want to give you one caveat here: one warning: do not go and stuff your web page with the term family law. If you’re a lawyer, saying okay tom says, I need to you, know, put this keyword in here a bunch of times and then I’ll rank for it. That’s no! No, please do not do that, make it as natural as possible right, you’re content with natural flow and include that keyword.

You know two or three times, maybe in a clickable link, if that’s an important term, that you’re actually trying to rank for and that’s it do not overdo it. If you overdo it, you’re going to get yourself a penalty, the again the search engines are brilliantly smart. They’re there they will pick that up, they will say okay, this particular page has you know 300 words and the keyword has been used seven times.

That’s. You know obviously way too much they’re trying to game the system, and we will assess a penalty to this webpage. Just letting you know you know there are rules against it, so don’t get yourself a penalty just make it look. Naturally you know I would be you know with this many words. Three four: the most times I would use family law, but I think they’ve gotten away with maybe five times here.

So let’s go back again. This is you know. What do you do with these keywords? Look at that, so they ranked number one and two in a large city kudos to them. Excellent. Let’s have a look at this one. So again, the term is family law, their websites taking a little long to load but they’ve ranked fairly well in a large city. Here we go family law right at the top, so good for you, Donna, okay, again family law at the top here in a drop-down menu, family and right, family law here and family law and again another that’s just their menu family.

A lot at the bottom, just showing you what keywords do and why certain websites get ranked for certain terms of certain keywords, because they actually use it in their content wisely. They don’t overuse it they and it and again, like I say, there’s 200 different variables that go into deciding why a web shuts website should rank highly, and this particular website is not only using the keywords, but it’s an attractive website.

It’s it’s. It probably has great metrics from Google there they’re picking up that people are spending. You know a fair amount of time on the website they’re clicking through, and those send signals back to Google that that website is valuable for people looking for the term family law. So they rank it high every every new website. I find if you come up with a new website. It’s going to be you know, given a chance, Google says: ok, yeah your new.

If, if you submit it, you have to submit it first of all, ok and I’ll I’ll show you how to submit it later. That’s that comes in in later how you can, in module 3, how you can submit your website in order for Google to actually yeah crawl. It say: hey, Google, I’m over here, come check. My website out it’ll, give your website a shot and you’ll notice early on all of a sudden, maybe not necessarily the first week, the second week or even the first month.

Your website will appear, but then all of a sudden, it will be there up near the top for certain keywords and it will grade your website. Basically, it’s giving you a shot, saying: ok, you’re new, let’s see how you make out and people will have an opportunity. There’ll be a few people, just you know, showing in the search results. Oh there’s there’s your website, they’ll click on it and and it’s basically a rating.

You know how long did they spend on that website? Did they like bounce right back to they say uh? This isn’t a very good website, or it’s taking too long to load. Forget it, I’m hitting the back button button and checking out the next search results. If they’re spending lots of time on your website, that’s good for you! Google will give you some more time to evaluate your site and see if it deserves to be on the first page or you know in the top near the top of the rankings.

That’s just my experience, my gut feeling. That’s that’s from my experience. What actually happens? Okay, so we we know about keywords. We know how to find keywords: I’ve, given you an idea how you should use them in your site. Now, let’s say you have, you know four different main services, let’s say you’re a landscaping company and you want to rank for the term lawn care. You want to rank for the term snow removal.

You want to rank for the term landscaping. The those are all different keywords, so should you have one page with all those different keywords on it and then it gets kind of confusing. I find, if you focus you know to like snow removal, for example, would have its own page, and you would talk about some. Your snow removal services and your value to the customer and your snow removal quote form there and, and that would be the most effective way for Google to say.

Okay, this page is about snow removal and that’s in the search results we’re going to serve that up. For people looking for the term snow removal, surfaces of snow plowing, you get the point, but if it has snow removal, landscaping lawn care all on the same site. Google says okay yeah. It has snow removal on there. But it’s got these other things and it’s probably going to waste. You know the visitors time and they’re they’re not going to spend as much time on it necessarily so we’re not going to rank it as high.

That’s again, that’s my personal experience, try and focus if you have different services and within your business, dedicate a page to each that’s my my personal tip when you’re when you’re making your website so anyways moving on I’ve shown you what you can do with these keywords. Again, these keywords also come into play when you’re doing any pay-per-click advertising very important, that you have those keywords within your content.

If you’re trying to market your business in these ads up here, okay, so family law, firm family law, family law, those are right in the title – the term family law and this this ad. Here, I’m just going to guess: I’m just trying to see if the term family law is in it, I’m going to guess that this particular ad they’re playing a lot more just because they don’t actually have the term family law in it.

When we did the search for family law, so these three ads do and – and that’s important I’ll, show you and I’ll cover that in module 3. Why you want to include those keywords in your content and also in your ads, so moving on I’ll show you another tool. Uber suggests: okay, uber suggests dot, IO ubersuggest dot, IO, just a quick. You know tidbit here, dot IO. I said what what say. Oh, you know you usually have dot-com dot CA.

That’s Indian Ocean anyways. Just for those that want to know so uber suggests is a is a keyword idea, generating tool. So, let’s type in the term lawn care, and then we just simply you can select. You know on the web or what is this for we’ll leave it on the web. Yeah English select your language click on suggest, and it’s going to come up with a bunch of keyword, ideas for us, okay, so a long Caroline care service, lawn care tips, lawn care near me.

Lawn care companies, ok lawn care business. These are not necessarily keywords that you would find on the Google Keyword planner tool, and it just gives you some more ideas when generating keywords. Okay, my final tool that I want to explain to you a process that I to use that’s often very effective, is the good old-fashioned, noggin right, so try and use you know, put all your marketing cap and think put yourself in your customers, shoes.

You know your business best and try to imagine what kind of key terms would your customers be typing into the search bar in order to search for your business, your services, your product. So, let’s you know, you grab a pen, you grab a piece of paper and you you just start coming up with those a list of those key terms. Now keep in mind. Every excellent marketer will be using those tools that I just showed you and they’ll have access to those same words and phrases key words that you are also competing for.

So I like to be I like to try me unique, try to be different, separate yourself and come up with unique phrases. Sometimes they flop sometimes they’re that golden nugget that sets you apart. So lets. You know, okay, let’s, let’s pretend I’m going to pretend. I don’t know landscaping company and I’m just going to put on my marketing hat close my eyes and just start thinking of what I would type in if I was looking for some kind of services by a landscaping company.

So it goes lawncare’ lawn care, lens cake and company. No, no, keep in mind when you’re typing these in in your own city. The results that come up luckily search engines are smart enough to did sector okay, this person’s looking for a service, something that’s offered locally. So you’re not going to get results for if you’re living in New York you’re not going to get results for a Boston landscaping company on the first page, you’re going to get local results around wherever you are so ok, let’s continue on one care quotes.

Somebody looking for you know, they’re deep in the sales funnel they’re looking for they’ve got their credit card out, they’re looking for services right away, just start, making a list write those down and try implementing those and putting some of those into the keyword planner tool, see If they come up see what kind of volume they have and if you want to implement those put, those on your website give them a try.

Okay, so that almost concludes the second module on keywords. If you’re looking for some bonus material would like to see some of the resources that I use you’re, more than welcome. I have them listed on my website at Tong telecom, slash traffic, so type in your URL bar Tom Telecom, slash traffic and you’ll, see the all four modules will be listed. I I will list some resources that I would use for keyword, research, some of the experts in the industry, some of the people that I look up to and follow and you can check their stuff out too. One thing I will mention shameless plug here. Okay. That concludes module. 2. I hope you enjoyed it and I encourage you to move on to module 3, where we will learn all about pay-per-click advertising to me, the most effective tool in try and attracting targeted traffic to your small business website Bar None.

Small Business Marketing… Don’t even think about making THIS copywriting mistake

This is the second installment in a series of five, where we’re talking about mistakes, people make in copy that could kill their sales. Today, we’re going to talk about using acronyms and jargon. Look in whatever business you’re in there is a vernacular there’s a jargon.

There are acronyms that are used that you know that perhaps your colleagues know, but maybe your audience isn’t all that familiar with. If you’re a jeweler, you might use the term GI a, but your customers know that do they know what that means. What about I Jo or are Jo or any of the other acronyms that talk about the associations you might have or the qualifications that you might be able to spout? Not that there’s anything wrong with letting people know that you have some qualifications that lends credibility, but they need to understand what they know in the speaking business.

There’s something called CSP. It stands for certified speaking professional problem is most people, including most meeting planners, don’t know what it means or what it takes to get it. So what good is using it if it is not explained, I’m not saying you shouldn’t use it, but you must explain the term. I’ve got a client, who’s, selling, high-tech electronic equipment to the government for use in airplanes and fighter jets and those kinds of things he has a acronym.

That’s our m.R.H M stands for remote health monitoring. Do you know what that means sounds like something they stick on astronauts to make sure their health is ok, not at all has to do with the monitoring of the condition of the power supply or the electronic components that he sells, and it’s a unique point for Him but his customers do they understand it. Do the buyers understand it and is he absolutely sure that they do because, if you’re at the least bit uncertain, you must explain your terms, don’t get caught in the syndrome of using jargon and acronyms that your prospects may not understand? That’s your tip of the day.

So subscribe to your blog and tell your friends about it, check out back episodes of tips of the day and I’ll see you next time on your 30-second marketer tip of the day you
