We just had a conversation about it and it’s something. I’ve wanted to shoot a article for for a little while now so here’s the store. Here’s how all this kind of began this for me to sit down, actually shoot this article. The blog name is geeks life because I’m you know, I’m a geek.
I, like geeky stuff coach Roy company, put out an action figure of John wick and I really wanted it. He picked one up for me and so I had to send him some money, so I told him hey. I can send it through a PayPal, because, that’s typically how everyone does it, it’s probably how you do it if you’re going to buy anything off a Facebook marketplace or anywhere else to ebay anywhere, you want to go. You typically use PayPal.
Stripe is starting to get a little bit more known and people are using that, but if you’re buying stuff on Facebook there’s this way, you can send payments through using Facebook itself. Facebook pay – I don’t know if it has an exact name, I’m calling it Facebook pay from here on out and he didn’t he’s like. I don’t know that I don’t trust it. I’r just going to use PayPal, send it through that way.
Well by sending it through PayPal. That’s one of two things can happen. You can send it as friends and family, no fees, then you can send as goods and services and there is fees to accept that money. But with those fees you get protection, someone tries to scam you, you can file a claim, get your money back and you’re set security, but that’s what you’re paying those fees for, but a lot of times in facebook groups.
People don’t want to pay those fees because they don’t want to educate themselves and accept the fact that they are technically running a business if you’re, buying and selling stuff and you’re making money. That’s a small little business regardless if you’re, making ten thousand dollars or fifty bucks a month. So they ask you, send it as friends and family. A lot of people still do that, and they don’t understand that you have no protection and they get the money and no fees on there and and that’s it.
No questions asked so that means they could scan you. They could take your money and and never ship out the item that they probably never had in the first place. So you don’t want to do that, and people are starting to pick up on that and won’t do it. So so Facebook has a feature where you can send and receive payments and there’s no fees whatsoever. Now you may be wondering well, Chris, you just said: there’s no fees, then you’re not protected.
Well, you are that’s. Why I’m here to teach you and educate you guys. So it’s through messenger, if you don’t know apps to download no new accounts to create no new passwords to remember and I’m going to show you how to do this, you choose the debit card. You want to link to make that account with, and then everything is handled through your bank, whatever bank, that you decided to use it’s that simple.
So, to show you how simple it is to set up and to use I’m going to show you if I haven’t said so already, you can use your phone for the entire process. It’s so easy you can do from desktop to, but I’m going to show you how to do it on mobile. All you got ta do is have messenger, which you probably already have already own VIP messenger. Go that your icon, which is your picture and you scroll down to payments, then you’ll see an option for a new debit card typing your card number expiration, all that sort of thing and you’re done.
That’s it you’re totally done to request money and send money. You can do that all within this app as well, so I’m going to go over to Josh, I’m going to send him a dollar cuz. You know he’s my homie. I don’t know if this is going to look exactly the same. If you use an Android, I’m using an iPhone, but it’s probably very similar tap on the little four dots in the corner opens this up look payments.
I want to tap on payments, I’m going to send him $ 1 nakid. Now I had the option to request them that dollar or pay that dollar and I can add a little note suck on this and I’m going to hit pay and then all I got ta do is tap confirm payment of $ 1 and it’ll. Send it to him, that’s it now. All he has to do to accept his payment is literally accept he’ll, be notified with a little bit of a button. They push to hit accept and then he has to type in his debit card and then that’s it in his counts now setup he can send and receive so he this guy responds back for him saying he went straight to PayPal because that he probably has that Set as to his default, so to make changes to that account, you can go into payments, and I have I have PayPal setup as well, and I have a Visa card, that’s linked to my bank as another option and you can delete it if you want just By tapping on it hit and remove account, or you should be able to set it up as a primary card as well.
So I asked him to check PayPal because I’m curious to see if PayPal still charge a fee to accept that dollar, because it was through your bank, you won’t have to pay any sort of fees whatsoever. If PayPal came second to Facebook pay, then everyone would be using Facebook pay educate yourself guys. Hopefully, this article has helped you in the least saving fees on that, but the simplicity, the ease of use, if you are buying something on Facebook, there’s no excuse as to why you shouldn’t use the Facebook payment option.
It’s the same as PayPal, but slightly better and you are protected. Do I got ta say it again? You are protected, it’s through your bank and whichever card used to decide to put it in. That is the think that protects you. If someone tries to scam you by using that you could log on to your bank file dispute just like eBay or the benefit of physically walking into your bank and talking to a person face-to-face which you don’t get that option with PayPal now the only thing I Could say that’s in benefit of PayPal is, if you do send it as goods and services, you get their all their information.
You get their address included in that which isn’t a big deal to probably you guys, cuz, you probably don’t even know that feature exists either. I don’t send them my address because that’s already included if they go into PayPal to ship the shipping label right there, which again most people do not do I’ve done articles about that as well in the past, that saves you money if you ship it through PayPal, Use PayPal to ship your stuff, you get discount anyway, it’s on our tangent, educate yourself, guys, please, but if you’re using that feature you get their address included.
So you just go into PayPal and hit print sheeple and you’re done. You don’t have to ask for the shipping, but on Facebook you do hats off to ask for their shipping address. If you are shipping it out, that is, if you’re buying something locally, you don’t have to worry about it. So the last perk of doing this is your money, is in your bank account your actual account when you use PayPal or venmo it’s stored on their servers and their accounts.
So if you were to go to try pull that money out, you would be charged fees like PayPal. I think charge is a dollar to use. An ATM you’d be charged the ATM fee as well so you’re, looking at like three to four dollars, sometimes more, depending on what ATM you’re using just to get your money out, and it may already be your bank that you’re pulling from so. If you’re pulling money out of your own bank with our own card, there’s no fees, so it’s kind of a no-brainer and as that, a bonus if you’re spending money using through another website like being a chore or big bad toy store or whatever website you’re using Paypal and pull from you don’t have to have any money in that account, because if this is zero balance, it pulls from your bank account anyway again no-brainer.

Okay, you know you’re going to follow them and you’re going to subscribe to them. I should say so: you’re going to subscribe to their blogs you’re going to subscribe to their blogs and you’re, going to hit the bell icon right. So you’re going to hit the bell icon up here and you’re going to get notifications of when they put out articles. Okay, so you’re going to be a comment jacking. So what you’re going to do is you’re going to try and get to be the first comment or on the article so as soon as they make the article and it gets released, you jump on that and and you you make a comment you and not just That any comments got to be a good comment, got ta, be you just got to be a little bit of an ass.
Kick kissing comment, little brown, those going on where you know you praise the article praise them. You know what they do, that you follow them, that you, like them: okay, I’ll, give you an example in in the make money online niche. Okay, I have a bunch of guys friended, okay, I’ll expect there is one and he just posted 27 minutes ago. So if I would have caught that right away and made a comment on that now, obviously you make a comment.
Some of you guys are probably saying you know, listen we’re not stupid. You know, if you put it put a link into somebody’s comment on YouTube. It doesn’t get approved as an approved comment. Nobody sees it goes into, you know, expand, folders or whatever, and that’s very true. Okay, so you comment you make you’re not going to put a link into it. Your affiliate link doesn’t go in the comment at the beginning.
Okay, so you make a comment and you kiss ass and you don’t mention your affiliate link and you don’t mention any such thing about marketing or any kind of offer or anything you do you just make a a high praise. A high praise, um post comments say this is John Chris Donnie, okay, John Chris Donnie. I caught him right away. I was the first commenter hey. I love reading your articles, I’m trying to follow you and do what you do keep inspiring me and he replied thanks.
Okay, so because he replied, then I was the first commenter, I’m the first post on the article, so just go to the article. Ok, this is the article all right, I’m going to move over here now, alright. So this is the article him with a pile of money. It’s great stuff. Alright, let’s go down. Show me more there’s my comment right so there’s my comment on the number one comment. Alright and then he commented thanks.
So what you do is this is 23 hours ago, so you wait a period of time so that he approved it. He saw it. He approved it okay, so this is a day ago now, John first, on e, this article has 570 views right now. Okay, he gets thousands and thousands of views so because I’m the first comment people are going to be seeing this comment a lot. Okay, it’s people going to be reading. This comic people scroll down to the comment.
You know every time they read a article. I don’t know if you do, but I know I do it so you come over here and we got it to article so now you can’t put your link in it at first, but you can now so you do that you erase that. Okay, now I have something here already pre-done and do you want to know free traffic sources? Do you need to know where to get free traffic? For me? Do you have no money for traffic? You need traffic.

Ok, so what we do we file big guys in the niche we subscribe to? Their blogs, ok, we subscribe to the blogs. We wait. We hit notification education as soon as alright. Soon as they’ve put out a article, you get a notification. You jump on that article be the first commenter now, if you’re, the second third, fourth or fifth commenter. That’s pretty good, too. Okay, you want to be the first, but as long as you’re up in the top couple, all right now.
The other thing is you make a really good comment and the person makes it makes a reply to it. It might get posted up higher, okay, it might get pinned to the top. Sometimes that happens. Okay, so you know you make a quality comment. Make a quality comment. Get your comment ranked at the top. Okay, maybe even pinned you know, kiss a little s kiss a little s. You know, I can’t say it any penny. More than that.
All right leave a comment. You know, I know some of you. People are going to say, you know, that’s screwed up, but you did and it’s not right and it’s not fair and and it’s it’s black hat and it’s you know, you’re going to have all kinds of going to call you all kinds of names. So in this article I’m going to talk about three ways: to use LinkedIn to get clients fast, hey, what’s up, it’s Sean Anthony and I talk about the best tools, tips and strategies to level up your business, your skills and your income. Alright. So in this article we’re going to talk about LinkedIn, why it’s such a goldmine and how to use it three specific ways to use it to get clients fast for your business. So let’s hop into my computer right now already so on the screen. Here I have my LinkedIn profile and I’m just going to go and walk through the three main things that you want to do to be marketing on LinkedIn and growing your business and getting more clients using the platform.
Okay. So I’m going to walk through each of these three things, I’m going to show you some examples of each and just keep in mind, there’s hundreds of different tips and tactics and strategies and cool little hacks. You can do on LinkedIn. These are the three main core things that you want to do as part of your client acquisition strategy. If you want to use LinkedIn to do that and to get clients and grow your business okay, so just keep that in mind.
There’s a lot of different things that I could cover. I might cover in later articles, but pay attention to these main three, because this is the main thing that you want to do as part of your strategy. Okay, so number one. Is you want to optimize your LinkedIn profile for your ideal client right, and the way you want to think about your profile? Is a lot of people treat it like a resume or like a showcase or a place to just show off right, show off about their awards and what they’ve done? Maybe they’ve written a book or whatever you don’t want to do that.
You want to treat your LinkedIn profile if you want to use it to get clients, you want to treat it kind of like a mini sales, page or mini landing page right, and the goal of your LinkedIn profile is to attract and convert your ideal clients. So to do that, you need to optimize your LinkedIn profile to do that. To get your ideal clients to come to your profile, see what you do and say. Oh that sounds like that.
Guy can help me right. So let’s just take a look at the main. There’s three main areas on the profile that you want to optimize number: one is just your image, your file image and your cover photo. Okay, don’t overcomplicate this! Your profile photo should just be something simple: if you like, looking professional, smiling, not like you just rolled out of bed or came out of a bar, it should be a clear picture to make sure it’s not like pixelated or you can’t see your face.
Just make sure it’s a picture of a of you, that’s clear and looks somewhat professional. Okay, your cover photo is the same thing for me. I just put a few photos. You can make this in canva. I put a few photos that show me speaking and with other entrepreneurs like this is Jesse at slur. He owns the Atlanta Hawks. This is Trey Llewellyn who’s, big in the e-commerce space. You can use something like this.
That shows your authority or you can link with a call to action to your website or whatever you want people to do. Okay, so just make sure these two areas, it’s not like the default, make sure that you optimize it to make you look good and position. You as an authority all right now. The second place you want to optimize is your headline most people. What they do here is they just put their job title right.
They might say: oh I’m, a CEO, whose company this is what I do well, you want to make sure that when your prospect reads your headline, they can answer the question. What’s in it for me right, and does this person help me so this is for growth response right growth responses are b2b, lead generation or drop servicing agency. We provide LinkedIn and cold email, lead generation for b2b technology, startups, SAS companies and agencies right.
So I want to make sure if this is my company and that’s who I target right: b2b, startups and agencies. I want to make sure that my top my headline on LinkedIn speaks to that right. So it’s the same exact thing here: helping startups helping the niche, who are your niches and agencies to get result? What’s the result, get more sales meetings with their ideal customers right and then you can even I couldn’t fit everything in here.
So I just put you know: founder high growth response done for you up on prospecting. Some keyword, SAS lead generation, LinkedIn marketing, cold email, copy sales, funnels okay, so you can put some keywords in here: a little hack. I don’t know if this still works, but if you edit on your phone, if you download the LinkedIn mobile app and you edit on your phone, you edit this headline, I think they, let you add, a bit more characters right.
I don’t think I could add this on on the desktop version. I think it’s a little trick if it still works, if it doesn’t oh well you’re too late, but try try downloading the mobile app and seeing if, if you could add more keywords into your headline here right. But the lesson here is: make sure that you can answer who do you help? How do you help them and what result do you get right? So helping startups and agencies get sales meetings with their ideal customers? That’s what I do and then I linked to growth response, which is the actual company that I’m talking about right.
So that’s area number two, now area number one, your photo! Your cover photo area. Number two is your headline area number three that you want to optimize is your about or your summary section. Okay – and this is where people go so wrong, like they’ll, just put like, for example, they’ll speak about themselves in third person, so they might say something like Shawn has worn won three awards. He started five companies he’s made like ten million dollars.
Shaun has is a TEDx speaker. He has this book in that book and he’s done this he’s such a badass right, like just talking about themselves in third person, which first of all, is just it’s kind of strange. It’s kind of creepy right who actually talks about themselves in third person and, second of all, you look like a narcissist when you do that, so make sure that your your profile summary talks about your prospect and how you can help them right again.
If you want to use it to get more clients and grow your business right, so let’s take a look at my example: I’m not going to read through all of this, but let’s take a look at what I’m doing here right. So the very first line. I don’t say anything about me or, like my background or anything, I talk exactly to the value proposition right. We help technology startups and digital agencies fill their pipeline with high-value, leads that turn into customers.
You get an expert team dedicated to prospecting and customer acquisition for half the cost of an in-house team. Now by reading that very first sentence, you know exactly who I helped exactly the result I get and how like why it’s relevant to them right. So half the cost of an in-house team right these SAS companies, these SAS founders, they’re so used to hiring like three to four sales reps at like four to five thousand dollars a month each and they still have to train them and buy them tools and all That stuff right so we’ll cut that cost in more than half and we’ll get.
We have a proven system that already works and we can get them exactly what they want, which is more customers right. So the the sentence should be a value proposition about you and what you do and how you help that market right. Then I kind of dive deep into the problems and pain points, so you’re going to have to do some research into this right. It’s not going to be the same thing. You want to make sure that you’re speaking in the language of your niche, so for our niche for b2b technology companies when we are talking to founders they’re, always like I don’t know where my next deals coming from, like we don’t know which source is coming from.
We don’t know if it’s from a webinar or LinkedIn or cold email or Facebook advertising. We don’t know where our next deal is going to come from and we don’t have a predictable system right. So we tie that into the pain points here right is your team wasting hours of valuable selling time when researching and instead of closing deals, do you wish you had a proven system right? So these are specific pain points that come up when we talk to our market right Ben.
You can read this, you can I’m not going to read all this, but it talks a little bit about our background. Why we created this service? What problem does it solve and we even kind of qualify people here right so we say hold up, must be but afford at least $ 1,000 a month, and this filters out people from booking a call with us if they’re, just like tire, kickers and just information Seekers right that aren’t actually going to become clients.
So take a look at the profile summary summary here again: it should speak directly to your ideal client and your ideal prospect and talk about how you can help them solve a problem that they want to solve right. In this case, it’s it’s lead generation and getting more getting more customers for their SAS business right. They should not be talking about yourself in third person or your awards or anything like that.
Nobody cares right. So that’s the number one area is is optimizing your profile. We talked about your profile photo your cover photo your headline and also your profile summary right. So that’s number one optimize your profile for your ideal client now number two: is you want to connect and engage with your ideal clients right, so you can use sales navigator options set up a separate article, doing a tutorial of sales navigator and how we use it In depth, but let’s just say that we’re going to use it again, b2b staffs founders, because that’s who we target for for growth response if I want to find SAS calendars, all I got to do here is type in.
Let’s see founder, okay and I’ll show you some examples of messages that we’ve sent I’ll go to all filters here and I can go to computer software. I can go to let’s say if I want to find people in my city of Seattle I’ll do that. I can type in their title here. I might do falender right and then what I can do is click apply now. What does this? Do? It gives me a list of 2509 founders in seattle of software companies and what sales navigator you can get even more grant and granular with like the size of the companies like how many employees they have more specific industries, more specific titles and seniority levels.
But I’m just showing you a quick example here, and this shows me two thousand plus founders people who fit my ideal client profile. So what do I want to do? I want to connect with these people. Let’s just say Dan here I might connect with him I’ll. Send him a connection requests, hey Dan saw your founder in the Seattle area of a SAS company. Would love to connect and share insights with you. Something super simple like that: right once they connect, you can send them a message and just see if they’re interested in having a quick conversation with you to learn more about what you do as what you deliver at your service right and how you can help them To provide value to their lives right, so let’s take a look at an example here right, so one of our clients here is Lynn.
I know she is in here she’s one of my favorite clients, because they have an awesome SAS product. Oh my gosh, I can get this typed out and then you can see here when we first started talking, so you can see here, here’s the connection message right. So I connected with there. I engage with there I enjoy connecting with founders, who I share. Mutual connections with love the opportunity to connect and share insights thanks for sharing, thanks for connecting with me on LinkedIn promise to keep this value an interesting blah, blah blah, and then I go into a little mini pitch right.

You know you have to just make sure you’re connecting with the right people with your ideal client you’re, providing value up front you’re, showing them that you care about them and and that you can help them get a result that they actually want.
And that’s what we’ve done here and this is exactly what we do for our service right, our LinkedIn service. What we’re doing is we’re connecting with people, we optimize your profile and then we start connecting with people and engaging with them to get you more appointments so that you can get more customers more clients right. So that’s number two is connecting and engaging with your ideal clients and trying to get them.
You know interested in what you have to offer yeah so number three, the third way to grow your business and get more clients if LinkedIn is content, write content and what you want to do here, there’s two types of content: this is the way that I break It down type one content is content that shows who you are as a person right. So talk, you’re, going to be telling stories about yourself, your business, your personal life, things that happen, things that are good things that are bad.
It shows people that you’re human and who you are as a person – I mean, of course you’re human, but it shows your personality a bit right, so you can look at my posts on here. I’r not going to go through all of them here, because I have I’ve made a lot of posts, but type 1 content is showing who you are as a person and letting people know that your hue and you’re, not just some robot on linkedin, trying to just Spam and get business all the time right.
Number two is what I call type 2 content real original right, but it’s content that positions you as the authority. So it answers the question. Why should I work with you to solve X problem? So someone might say why should I work with you to help me generate more leads on LinkedIn, so I actually provide a lot of content here on LinkedIn for free through my status updates right. You can see these get engaged with a lot.
50 likes 12 comments of 54 and 19. Comments have 17,000 views on this 147 likes and 49 comments. So this gets people interested in what you have to offer and they’ll see your posts. They’ll reach out to you through your messaging here and they’ll, want to set up a time with you to chat right. So content is a very powerful way if you combine it with an outreach strategy right. So if you optimize your profile number one, you optimize it for your ideal client number: two! You connect and engage with your ideal clients, your ideal prospects and you grow your network on LinkedIn right.
You start connecting with people they get accepted into your network. You send them a mess. I’ve seen if you can help them or provide value, that’s connect and engage and then number three you’re constantly putting content out there. Maybe one or two times a week even and you’re, constantly putting content in value out there and you’re helping your market out through your content, you’re going to get clients, people are going to reach out to you they’re going to want to work with you, because your Profit you’re putting goodwill and value out into the market right, so those are the three things number one optimize your profile for your ideal client right, your your your profile photo your cover photo your headline and your profile summary.
You should all be geared towards your ideal prospect. Your ideal client should be it shouldn’t, be talking or bragging about yourself. Okay, number two is a the connected engaged, so you want to connect with your ideal client and you want to provide some value. Maybe you found an article, that’s useful to them. That’s relevant to your service that you provide and also number three is to post content right type, 1 and type 2 content person, personality content and authority content right.
You want to get people interested in what you have to offer and stay top of mind so that when they are ready to move forward with LinkedIn lead generation or whatever you provide, you are going to be the first person they think about. If you’re a DJ and you’re trying to fill up your music collection – and you just like keeping your songs offline for whatever reason that maybe this is a great tool for you, it saves a lot of time being able to download a couple hundred tracks at once.
With you know, 10 seconds of typing in a command and letting it do its thing. I just found this today it’s really easy to use and I think it’d be useful for a lot of people. So, let’s go we’re going to use a Python script to download a possible unlimited number of tracks from SoundCloud using just one short text command. Even if download is unavailable for the track. This article will show me using the option to download every track upload and repost.
It by the artist Yeti yetis one of my favorites. So that’s what I’m going to use for this one. Other options outlined: allow you to download an artist like tracks as well as one command to download a playlist, as well as download newly added tracks to a playlist previously grabbed using this tool. By creating your own playlist, combined with using this tool, you can easily create a download queue using sound clouds, playlist on their site and type just one command to download all of your selections.
The prerequisites for this are you need to install the latest version of Python for your operating system, so I’m going to show you how to do this in Windows, but you can also do this using the same script on a Mac or Linux. There’s the link that you can go to to download Python for your operating system. So this part that I’m showing you here it’s going to highlight what you need to do to create and navigate folders inside of a command prompt, you’re, going to see what a command prompt is in a second, if you’re not familiar with it.
It basically is running your computer off of typed commands, rather than using your mouse and clicking around the screen. So if you take a look there, you can see what you would need to do to open up a command prompt, you’re going to hold down the windows. Key and you’re going to type the letter R, a little box is going to open on the lower left-hand corner, and this is where you can type in a command to quickly open any program that you may have installed on your computer command.
Prompt is built into Windows, and you have you: don’t need to have anything special to be able to get to this. So now, you’re going to go ahead and type in the letter CMD, and we definitely want to open our command prompt using administrator privileges. So we’re going to hold down ctrl + shift and we’re going to type in enter Windows. This is going to prompt asking if you want to allow this after make changes to your device, because we need to install a script that runs inside of Python.
We’re going to have to click yes, this is also expecting that you followed my link from step one and installed the latest version of python on your system, so I already have this installed, so the command isn’t going to show the same thing for me right now, As it will for you the first time, but what you’re going to want to do is you’re going to type pip3 pip3 one-word space, install space, SC DL, that’s going to go ahead and install the package made by flying grub, which he’s been so kind to provide For us on a github platform, so that’s good once that’s installed, then you’ll be able to run this command to be able to download what you want off a soundcloud, basically to move around directories and to command prompt, you type, cd’ and then a space.
And then the name of the directory that you want to get into if you type see these space and two periods it’ll navigate to the directory above the one that you’re in right now the parent directory. I did not include the directory listing here, but I’m going to type it in right now and you would type dir and that will show you the list of all the folders, where you’re currently located the other command.
That you’re going to use is mkdir, which will make a directory. In my example, it would create a new folder called this. Is my folder I’m going to show you how this works. So when you first open a command prompt, it’s going to put you in your windows, system32 folder. This is not a good place to download files, especially files that are going to be mp3. This is where commands are essentially stored.
So if I type dir, it will show me all the files that are in that folder. It’s a big mess, there’s four thousand five hundred and fifty-seven files there. So I’m going to go ahead and type CD space, two periods. Now I’m in the windows directory. Let’s check out, what’s in there a lot of stuff that we don’t need, so we’re going to go back once more CD dot dot you’re going to see my command prompt, there’s flashing, I’m in the C Drive, so I could type dir and it’s going to show You all the different folders that I or you have in your C Drive, so I already created a directory here called soundcloud, but I’m going to create a new directory, so I’m going to type mkdir space I want to put my name: is func, I’m going to Go into there now I’m going to hit dir again and I’m going to see that my new folder is there.
So if I want to get into it, I could type CD space and I could type out the full name if I want, but once I get part of it I and do an auto completion by hitting the tab key. Now, I’m in my new folder. So once I run the command to start downloading some Yeti, what’s going to happen, is it’s going to create folders and mp3s inside that my name is funk folder, it’s a much better place to keep your files in the windows, system32 directory.
There’s a couple different commands that I’m highlighting here inside the sedl script. One of them will download all tracks and reposts by the user that you want to go after the other. The second one will download all of the liked tracks by the user that you’re targeting and the third and fourth one will download playlists that either someone else has created, or you may have created, with the sole intent of using as a download queue to download a Mix of tracks for a multiple artist, if you see on the bottom there that’s a command that you would use to come back to a playlist that you may have created, and you only want to download the new tracks that haven’t already be been grabbed.
The one thing I want to mention is that if you do do that, one you want to make sure that you run it in the same folder that you downloaded that playlist last time. So now all we really need to do. Let’s say we want to download every track for the artist Yeti like we said before, I’m going to search for the artist I want on Soundcloud here it is right on the top. If you see the URL section of the web browser there that I’m highlighting my mouse over, you can see it’s just soundcloud.
Com forward. Slash and just one word. If you want to download an artist, it’s going to be slash and then one word nothing after it. I’ll show you, for example, would it look like if you wanted to go after a playlist, so I’m going to go, play a list and I’m going to click the brain near ep. So now you’re going to see the artist name in a /all playlists are going to start off with the word sets and then another forward slash and then the name of the playlist.
So if I wanted to do a playlist, that’s what I would select and copy to the clipboard, but that’s not we’re going after today, we’re going to download all of yetis tracks all over 200 of them that are here and what’s awesome about this. Is that no matter if the track was permitted to be giving you a free download or if it was just a stream only track? This script is going to put the track on your hard drive into an mp3 in the highest quality format that you can rip? It you may have used websites to rip SoundCloud tracks before.
Unfortunately, you know it’s one that you do is going to take a minute or so, and this you can do 200 all at once. So I’m going to select that text there, where my mouse is moving. I’r going to copy that to the clipboard so now that I got that there I’m going to go back to my command prompt and well I’m going to refer back to my things. So I want to download tracks and reposts of the user. So it’s essentially SC DL space, lowercase L, then the link space and a lowercase a I’m actually going to switch from Yeti to some kids.
I know a Nashville called the undergrowth. It’s a pretty cool, sound collective, a bunch of different artists. It’s it’s kind of a record label, part promotion company. It’s a lot of things. I recommend you check them out, they’re a bunch of good guys. Alright! So now I got that on my clipboard and that’s when I already have running I’m going to do a SC DL space that L space I’m going to paste in the link for the artist page, then I’m going to do space a once.
I hit enter it’s going to gather the tracks and, as it downloads the tracks, it’s also going to give him an ID three tag. So they’re tagged with the artist name and the name of the song and there we go, and I got four hundred and thirty. Five songs that my computer is going to proceed to download one after the next and they’ll be sitting pretty, and my harddrive in that folder that I created earlier called.

Now this is one of five cheap growth strategies. This article will show you a system for growing a fan base and if you can’t use this particular one, you at least understand what that looks. Like here’s, the things that you got to do to use this strategy, one you have to upload a content mix. This requires two types of content at minimum, but three would be even better. Those two types of content are your original music that could be a music article or just a audio track, upload it to YouTube, and then there’s cover songs.
Now I know a lot of you guys are familiar with using cover music on YouTube. Some people have tried it and haven’t had much success, but a lot of it comes from not completely understanding so listen to this entire article, so you can really get an understanding how best to use cover music and also to actually make sure you maximize this. You have to upload your cover: music, your remixes or your free styles, one of the others in the right way.
So read the article that I did on how to properly do that and I’ll also provide that in the link description below the third type of content. You can do is really just regular vlog type articles where you’re engaging your audience and different ways, or just giving them peers and peeks into your lifestyle. There’s plenty of youtubers out there that you know are just succeeding as just youtubers, no music at all figure out.
What you might be able to do in that type of category to give fans additional ways to connect with you? The second thing you need to do is manage your proportions. Now. What I mean by that is you have those two or three types of content that you’re dropping. You want your original music to be a decent portion of that, and your original articles to be a decent portion of that if you’re doing vlog type articles covers, can be some, but not all of your posts.
There’s some people who use a cover, type strategy or a remix type strategy, but that’s all they’re doing and then there’s some people who rarely ever do covers or any kind of remixes or freestyles. You want to create some form of regular schedule, even if you’re not dropping this music regularly, it doesn’t necessarily matter what your proportion is as long as you stay consistent over the long term, but just for those of you, my ex, if you do at least one Cover song or one freestyle, every four articles you drop, that could be pretty good for you, but on the other end, if you aren’t able to record quality original music, you might want to flip that and drop only one original song.
Every four articles you have to figure out what works best for you, but if you can do this at least weekly, then that should be a nice pace to work with. If you want to slow that down and do four articles every month, just realize you’ll be taking more time to get out more content and you’re working at a slower pace so expect success or certain numbers to come at a slower pace. Now. The third thing you got to do is links in promo.
It’s the equivalent of letting people know where your other music is in this article right here. I could have text pop up that says: follow brain man, Sean on soundcloud or follow brain man, Sean on Spotify or Apple music, if they’re not going to also have that in my description links. I can also have that in my top comment link now, if you don’t know what I mean by top comment, if you look at the comment section of this article, you’ll notice, that my comment is at the top, because I pinned it to the top and now Any links that I want people to see people will always see.
My comment first be sure to do this with relevant links for your articles. Now it’s extremely important that these links lead to places where it’s only your original content, if you haven’t realized it, yet we’ve been walking through pieces of the system. The reason a lot of people fail when it comes to covers is they’re thinking about it directly as creating fans as opposed to realizing that covers are marketing.
So now, when I talked about that marketing funnel remember, we’ve talked about this in articles before read my article on that, if you haven’t, this is how the system would play out. The top of the marketing funnel always has the most people your covers, because they’ll get views and organically are usually going to be the first thing people see, that’s just them becoming aware of you initially, the next step in the consideration phase.
That means they saw whatever cover article that they saw of you and now they’re saying. Let me look at this other cover article, or maybe they run into your original content. That’s what’s happening in the consideration phase, because they’re discovering more of you next is conversion. This is when they’re really saying yeah. Oh, this person’s original content is awesome and if you did the third type of content, that is the more youtuber, maybe blog type content, they’re discovering – maybe some of this in the consideration phase as well, but once they get down to the conversion phase.
They really like your original music and they really like your other articles. That is just you and your personality, not necessarily the covers. So now. At this point, you have people who are discovering you on your YouTube page and then some of your subscribers are probably casual fans and real fans. You don’t know what that number percentage is, but with the links, the people who follow you, because they see your link in your YouTube article or they see it in your description or your top comments and follow you on other platforms, whereas only your original music.
You now know that the people who went there through that route really love you for you. These are some of your true fans, and that is a system and the way these systems work is now once everything is in place. All you have to do is stay consistent with it, and on top of that, give it more and more exposure, because now, after you have let’s say a hundred articles of this combination, if article number 101, all of a sudden goes viral, all the new people that Come in and will go to the top of the funnel and be able to follow that exact same route, and now for those of you who get all discouraged like yo.
My original music doesn’t get anywhere near as many views as the covers. That’s how it’s supposed to be it’s the top of the funnel that’s people discovering you in the first place. Naturally, less people are going to even find out about your original music at first. But if you stay consistent with this system, you’re going to have more casual fans and more real fans and you’ll have more people who aren’t fans at all, but at least have been exposed to you.
Everybody has this there’s an artist out there that you can think of that. You know, has a pretty strong fan base, but you don’t really know their music like that, because you’re, the top of the funnel for them. This system could be a strong foundation for you and if you follow the criteria and follow these instruction and you’re, not finding any kind of progress in the content probably needs to improve whether that means your music isn’t good or whether that means the quality of the Audio and articles is just straight-up messed up, you’ll have to figure that out, but there’s no way you shouldn’t find some progress, even if it’s not as fast as other people.
Now again, this was just one of five cheap growth strategies to build a music fan bits. Both of them are social media marketing management tools bate. What does that mean? Basically, when you start posting on different sites with your business, it can be very cumbersome, very time consuming even expensive if you’re hiring a virtual assistant to do it to post on all the places that you want to post. Once you start being more intentional about what you want to post and where you want to post it and what time and not just post for the sake of posting, you might want to come use the social media management tool, because, basically, you can go into the Tool post the same post on four or five different social media platforms.
So that’s what it does you can post ahead. I have a whole playlist about different social media tools and I’m going to put that at the end you can invent. You know, go out research. All the different ones see which one works best for you. They all have pros and cons just like anything else, but basically it saves you time. You can go in and make a post and say here. I want to put it on Facebook. I want to put it on Instagram.
I want to put it on LinkedIn and make sure the one that you choose has all those features, and then you can post them out for a month, maybe you’d like to post every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. At a certain time, or maybe a couple times a day, you can go in and make those posts all in one day now. This is something that I keep telling people don’t feel like for the rest of your life. You have to go in there once a month and put all these posts and keep scheduling once you have a good collection of, let’s say: 90 to 120 posts three to four months worth.
You can go back and recycle them, and that is what’s cool about using a social media management tool. You do the foot work in the beginning, get it all planned out and then just keep recycling now you might say well what? If I want fresh content, you can do that. Maybe you can say every Wednesday at 2:00 is where you add something fresh. I do that with my email sequence. I have everything in a sequence, but then there are certain times I plug in current information.
That’s happening now in my life and it’s not always in a sequence if that makes sense, so social media platform management tools work the same way. You can put that fresh stuff in there. So today we’re going to look at HootSuite and lumely, and I’ve got about five different things. I’r comparing and you can see which one you like better. So let’s go ahead and get started. The most important thing, if not the second most important thing, the money is what everybody looks at, which is yeah.
You got ta look at money, but you also want to look at the features make sure. Sometimes you got to pay a little bit more for what you have right, where what you’re looking for so I know money is important, but I’m going to give that to you later. In my opinion, first thing you want to look at does the one that I’m choosing allow me to post it on the sites that I’m using and HootSuite. These are five out of the several that you can post on Facebook, Instagram, MailChimp, Twitter and WordPress.
Lumely does not post on a wordpress, but you can post on pinterest and I want to put a disclaimer here. They advertise that they post on instagram, but they post in a way right now where they will give you a notification. So you’ll say: yes, I want to post on instagram you’ll get it already, but you have to physically hit a button to post it. Instagram does not like automation at all. They do everything they can do to stop automation so right now they haven’t found a way to get around that, but you’ll be you know: you’ll just get a little notification on your phone.
You hit the button and it’s ready to go so in that sense you can still post and they also post on LinkedIn, which HootSuite did not. So you got to really look at. Where do I want to post? Doesn’t work for me all right. Let’s look at some of the features HootSuite, which I liked I thought was important, especially if you’re starting to dig in and look at things. They do have a be testing. So what does that mean? That means you can take the same post.
Maybe your have the same quote or maybe you have the same content some information, but maybe you use two different pictures and then you’re going to go, which one is getting clicked more often and that’s what a/b testing is you just change? One little thing you might change the color, you might change the font, I’m just something that usually the picture. My opinion is probably the big thing that people change their opinion on what they’re going to look at.
But again you have that a/b testing in there and then you can see here who lumely has 76 total features and HootSuite has 70. Now, if you want to go dig in I’m, giving you a scan of what their differences are, because really, if you’re looking to purchase one of them as a membership and use them, you really want to dig in. You really want to go and get the free membership and use them and see which one you like better.
So I’m just kind of giving you a you know an overview of how they’re different. This may not be important to you, but I thought I wanted to put it here. I’r going to give you a couple of you so before you leave I’m going to give you a calendar view of each, so you can kind of kind of see what they look like some kinds, sometimes the the ease of how to use them or the aesthetics Of what it looks like is important to people it is to me.
I want to use something. That’s easy looks nice, you know user, friendly, social media tools for dummies right. This is security. If that’s important to you, if you really dig in you, can see right here, you can pause the article and read that yourself. The next one is the calendar view. I personally liked luly’s calendar view better. If you look over here at HootSuite, it has each day listed and what’s there.
But personally I like this view, because you can see right here on the 23rd. All these places are getting a post, and I kind of like I’m like that, even with Mike own calendar, I want to see the whole month and I want to see what’s going on and I want I want to see it all, I’m very global, so I Prefer that now, if you like, you know just one page at a time or one date at a time, then you might like HootSuite better.
So again, it’s just a preference. I also wanted to look at the dashboard that we wanted to go back. Let me go back one that was the calendar view and now, let’s look at the dashboard, sorry about that umm dashboard when I popped up dashboard for each of them again. I really liked lumely, because here I can go into the different areas that I want to spend more time on. I can find my calendar from here.
I can find the analytics and things like that. The dashboard for HootSuite is looks like this on the left. I personally, like the layout better of lumely: again, it’s just a preference all right. So now, let’s look at user reviews a lot of people that 96 of the people who did the review said that they would recommend HootSuite 99 % said lumely. So, in my opinion, they’re pretty even the only negative thing that I heard I and I’ve heard several times from people that have readed my articles.
They Facebook message me and they tell me they’ve used to sweet, but then, after your contract is up, they keep raising the prices and giving you a feature. So they didn’t like how it keeps getting so expensive. One lady was telling me she had to pay $ 230 a month just to get the feature she wanted. She didn’t go into a lot of detail, but again it depends on what you’re looking for so dig into that see.
If there’s a price increase or anything like that, lumely was my favorite because of how easy it is to navigate and use, and I really like that – I don’t want to have to overthink things. I like it to be easy, so my personal preference, but again dig in and look if you’re running an agency. All of that might change alright. This I’m looking at more for personal use and after that, the analytics these are the designs of the analytics.
The one on the left is an analytical page of a Twitter account and the one and that’s with HootSuite the one on the right is lumely and that’s the Facebook analytics so again, which one do you like. I personally, like the numbers, I think it’s laid out very nice and neat on lumely. I can look at those numbers and then these graphs are very simple. Very you know. Everything is just spaced nicely easy to read over here, you’re getting a lot of these jiggy-jiggy lines and things like that again it just.
It depends on your preference, but that’s kind of what the analytics look like on each different platform and now last but not least, drumroll, please. What does it cost? That’s what everybody wants to know and again, don’t always look at just the money. Okay, if you’re looking for certain features – and you have to pay a little bit more for it, then by golly pay it get what you need. They’re, both very close in price HootSuite, starts out at $ 29 a month.
Lumely starts out at 25. They both have a free trial, which is a I love. I love to look at the free trials, but HootSuite you don’t have to use your credit card to get the free trial and or you do have to use when you go in for your free trial. You have to give them your credit card with lumely. You do not so I know a lot of people they don’t like to give their credit card. If that’s you, then you might want to try lumely, but I have found if you write down the date of when your trial is over.
I just got done canceling something else, but give them your credit card. Make sure you write it down on your calendar notification on your phone when it’s due and about two or three days before that? Cancel it? If that’s not something you’re going to use so you’re just going to stay on top of it, I’m just like those 0 %. You know payments you get into. You got it. You got to stay on top of it and pay attention all right.

Try to figure it out on your own, but I’m going to show you this strategy right now, so you’re going to create a campaign without any prior goal. Okay, so you can just select because they get rid of privileges that you would have before. If you select one of these before now we’re going to go to article and we’re going to go to, where is it? This might take me a minute, alright guys. So here we are, we cook display it’s on display, not article and here’s what you do link to your website.
Okay, google.Com! Is your website. Alright, typically wan na do sales funnel you want to be able to spend the most to acquire conversions right, very, very important. So have a lot of offers and a high ticket back-end, but once you have that in place, we’re ready to drive traffic alright and don’t overthink it too much guys try to take action. But if you just want to sell one thing, just know: if you don’t have an upsell or more monetization method, you won’t make as much as you could all right very important.
Also if you you want to promote something. That’s recurring: oh geez, you’re set okay, just so you know. So. Let’s talk about the strategy. I can picture a lot of you guys getting crazy results. If you want to learn even crazier strategies. This is one I’m releasing right. Now: okay, it’s very powerful, I’m giving it for free on YouTube, but if you want to learn crazy, crazy strategies, just like this one and this top-secret freaking stuff check out my course and then I have multiple other courses that teach specific strategies and stuff that can Help you out, but the main course has a lot of stuff in it that just geez man, I’m telling you but moving on, so we’re making sure we’re doing display right boom.
Also, just so, you know if you do YouTube ads and you do in-stream ads dude and you do it right. Oh geez, you can make killing grow a campaign name, doesn’t matter really just do whatever you want. Whatever you’re doing United States is obviously more expensive, but that’s what the money is all right. You can set locations risk into US for now to show you how this works languages – typically, English, yes, high-quality traffic, yes, not just impressions.
We want traffic manually set bids sure if you want automatics good but you’re, going to set a manual bid and no one’s going to tell you this. If you’re going to set a manual bid, set it like really high, because it’s an auction system and YouTube’s going to or whatever network to use for innocence to AdWords AdWords is going to literally send you traffic over your competitors targeting the same people all right.
I’r going to spend per day you want to spend a thousand great you’re going to make a killing all right, even spent a thousand per day move a down name that way if you want alright now this is what I was suggesting like you can look at This and you could based off search. You can base it off phrase or URLs. You can get ideas right here, just random stuff right, but just search up whatever niche you’re in and you can do that.
But that’s not the method, we’re talking about we’re talking about something even more interesting. Also, if you already know what demographics converting you can do that, but I suggest leave a broad I’ll show you why, in a minute we’re going to go down here – and this is what we’re doing content targeting. But I’m going to show you this other stuff. Just for fun weekly estimate off more reach. I suggested this one.
You keep it regular. Okay, now your cost-per-click bid for the ad group. You have to set it okay, you’re doing manual, and if we went up here and we did a option for automatic to do automatic, but sometimes networks – don’t let you do automatic. So we have to set our bid and the way actually Google works is. You can set your bid, but don’t go too low, okay and it’s almost better to set it even higher.
Okay. So we’re going to three bucks per click. Look it’s going to show you actually how much you’re going to spend so over here we’ve got your weekly estimate. Here’s! How much clicks you’re going to end up getting with a thousand bucks per day. Your cost per click is going to be thirty, eight cents to seventy five cents. Okay, just so you know, this is cost per click. You’re doing display ads on it could be the network it could be on websites or it could be on YouTube articles, and this is the strategy.
I’r teaching YouTube articles display ads. I kid you not it’s insane. Okay, this is such a powerful strategy. I’r sharing with you right now. Okay, I hope you understand that so whatever country you want to do, if you’re in CPA marketing dude, oh my gosh get ready, I’m about to blow your mind if you’re doing sweepstakes. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I wish I could just share with you guys, but you have to have the right of passage of content, locking like there’s so much stuff that I could talk about.
That is just insane for this, but you just have to get in the force. I guess – and it’s so worth it so anyway, that’s how much you’re going to end up spending. Alright, if you want to do 0.5, I mean less than 30 cents, so say: 25 cents. So look they’re going to give you less quality traffic and you’ll get more clicks, but it’s less quality. Okay, you want to be competitive and that’s why I said it as high as it is.
If you don’t set it as a dollar, that’s pretty good! So there’s a buck. You won’t get typically charged a buck per click, but yeah if you’re in other countries, obviously cheaper, but you better have a good CPA offer for that country. Okay, now, let’s get into needy greedy man, all right content targeting okay, you can target keywords: okay, so all across the whole web. You could target topics so webpages, apps and articles about a certain subject or you can do placements and we’re going to do placements.
Look specific websites, specific websites, specific articles, alright or apps; okay power, ful bro; alright, we’re going to click placement, so we’re going to do exact, YouTube articles or exact blogs, but I highly suggest, with this method, you’re going to target exact freaking articles. Okay, now, whatever cpa marketing network you’re with great find your offer and you’re ready to go, if you want to a cost per sale, offer great we’re going to cover the funnel actually in just a sec.
We should probably cover it now and we’re going to no we’re just going to do the article now. So if you want to do with golf offer we’re just going to do golf, you find um. Typically, you want to go to youtube first, so youtube youtube. You want to go to youtube and you’re going to want to type in whatever any sharing. Now you want to have a you want to have several tools, you don’t have keywords everywhere, the Chrome extension and then you want to have vid IQ.
The Chrome extension right. Alright, let’s go: go we’re going to want to see the ones at the top views, okay, that are getting a lot of views and that we would want that. Would that we would think is relevant to the offer were promoting okay, super powerful and do Google display? You can literally create an ad that has like text on it and has like it says what the offer is. It grabs attention and it’s 100 % relevant to the viewers right.
This is very powerful. Okay, so find like a couple articles. You don’t want to have just over one article, but you could just find one article, but this is super crazy. Okay, I’m talking about you make your ad. You could run a split test of two ads if you want or more okay of different ones and see which one does better you’ve run your ad, you figure out. Okay, are women, doing the clicking more than men or what ages and what demographics and you can break it down and then run that and it just gets better optimize: okay, you’re running traffic, the whole time.
So you just pick your articles to show up on. You click it here and you start and you were going to want to have a quite a bit. Okay, because YouTube articles only get a couple views after their first spike over time. So you’re going to want to pick quite a few articles, but the power is especially if a new creator, like a YouTube creator, launches a brand new article and you’re like okay target their blog, then boom you’re, going to have your ads show up on their blog, Especially nice blogs guys this works great for news blogs.
Super super powerful. Okay, we’re going to go over here. Traffic is AdWords, specifically YouTube. Okay, we’re going here we’re going to make the landing page art so you’ve got your ad right and they’re on YouTube. They’re going to click through to your opt-in, you want to give something for free, or so we’re going to do two different things here: you’re going to have a sales page. Okay, your sales page sells something right off the bat, so you actually in qualified buyers when they come here and buy right here you giving some for free, so you can follow up with them with what you sell forever.
Either way works the higher click-through rates going to be this one. This ones are all right to don’t sell something super high ticket. I’r telling you right now you will regret it um and then here’s what we’re going to do and we’re doing affiliate offers right. So this is, if you have your own offer, okay or if you do pre sale here, okay boom right there. So this is. If, if you have your own offer, you can do some upsells you’re using click funnels.
Of course you have your own upsells in the back end you’re going to offer like affiliate offer. Okay. So let’s draw that out real quick episode. Boom boom boom boom upsells. There you go so and then you have an affiliate offer at the end to see. So just a thank you page and then to your affiliate offer you want to do just so. You can monetize more. That’s the power of that then right here, you’re going to have a pre-sale page, so you have a sales page could have a article sales letter.
If you want all right here, you’re going to have the purchase okay – and you just do one offer right here, but you have an email address right, so we’re going to do that to do here. It is you my friend have an email over here. You can follow up and sell stuff forever, and you know it’s a buyers list and if they bought from you want you’re going to buy from you again, it’s just outwards alright and boom right here you got emails, you can follow up forever.
Send them here send them to other offers, etc. Okay, that is super duper. Duper duper ooper, powerful. Okay, I want you to know that, so that’s the funnel you can pick whichever one you want to do. This one will make more money. This one will get results too. You can also put an opt-in right before this, too, just to get higher click-through rates and more emails. If you want to do that, okay and that’s how you get crazy click there right, like I’m, not even giving all the value here, I’m trying to just give you the strategy which is so powerful, but in the paid information.
Obviously, there’s freaking crazy, freaking freaking brilliant powerful strategies there, but alright, let’s see what else we going to talk about alright guys. So you have everything set up right. You find a ton of articles that are going to be relative to the offer you find so step by step in order. What are we going to cover here, and this is what we have to do – we have to pick a niche, then we have to be on two networks.
We have to pick a bunch of offers that we think are good. Then we have clickfunnels. Of course, you have to use quick funnels for this click. Phones is the best check out link in the description for it and sign up and then what you’re going to do dude. This is so powerful. I love talking about this because I don’t really talk about the crazy strategies, so you pick your niece. You pick a bunch of offers.
You stand up your sales funnel you connect with your autoresponder, could be Aweber or get response to your market here or whatever you wan na do like I prefer Aweber. I will have an affiliate link for that. Eventually, I should sign up for it right now. After this, but anyway you do that and then you pick a bunch of articles you want to show up on, for you, debt selected, eesh, okay, and even if you want you could show up on specific websites you want to do is so all right.

A journalist I ’ ll elaborate on Uh my affiliations in a bit, But I ’ m, going to be talking about how You can buy AT and T T-Mobile Sprint and in some cases, Verizon data um on the black Market So one day I just wake. Up – and I get this rather ominous message – And I ’ ve kind of put it Verbatim so there are some typos And stuff but “ there is a new bail bond database company that Is geo tracking people, People Are reselling to the wrong people Call me.
, ” And obviously I ’ ve redacted the source: ’ s! Um! Phone number cause: they ’ re, an anonymous source Um. We hear About government surveillance, Geolo uh geo, location, tracking or that sort of stuff all the Time Here this is a private Company selling a similar capability to private Individuals Uh a particular Focus of mine And, of course, reselling to the wrong people. I Want to know um what this is.
This all says that in or around the bounty, hunting, industry and They ’ re, clearly quite familiar With how this technology works, So we start talking Uh, they Only really wan na discuss it on The phone They say, many people – ’ s, uh rights are being Violated As we strike up a Conversation, he ’ s using terms like phone ping, Which are some Of you may know a sort of law Enforcement or industry power lense for geolocation, a phone Um the source even offers, if You give me a phone number uh.
He will be able to locate it. That is a pretty wild claim. Uh And I was obviously very skeptical at first But hell Why not Um? So I get a US phone Number of someone that I know would give consent to be Tracked Uh with their Permission obviously Uh, but then they say if you are paying The 300 dollars Now this is the Price that a phone ping is going on the black market at the time, We ’ ll, go into other prices, a Little bit later, Uh and I say yeah I give the phone number Again, I ’ ve redacted that uh and When do you think it will be doable Uh just before a kind Of a carry on rant, we normally Don’t pay sources for information Because if you Start paying someone they ’ re.
Going to give you stuff kind of, irrespective of whether it ’ s, True or not, irrespective of It ’ s uh veracity, so you don, ’ t wan na! Do that as a journalist, You only wan na do stuff that ’ s, In the public interest, But here we want to see, explore or prove Whether this is even possible, You know I mean we could talk to three four five people here: Who says yes? But we want to Actually see it and we want to actually geo locate the phone Because if I can do that – and I ’ m Not a bounty hunter, I ’ m, not a cop uh.
I ’ m a journalist that Shouldn, ’ t be possible. Theoretically, So that ’ s why we um took that extra step, Uh and He says yeah, I ’ ll. I ’. Ll figure. It out and get back to you Shortly after I get sent a Google Maps uh interface, This Isn: ’ t the exact phone ping uh. I ’ m going to show you genuine real Phone locations uh from bounty Hunting bounty hunter services later This is um similar to The one we got Uh it geolocated To Queens New York Uh to where the person was, who agreed to be Tracked, Uh and, as you can see, It ’ s, something like five six blocks, um diameter Uh, but it Was pretty accurate So that ’ s The main story: we ’ re – going to focus on and it will it will develop.
From there, But just to Elaborate a bit I ’ m, a journalist from Motherboard Which is like the technology and Science, section of VICE, I cover the dish line diagrams cyber Security, hacking uh and this Kind of um you know, brings all of those together And right up. Top, if you have more information, About location data that ’ s, my signal number and I will put it Uh at the end as well So just a Layout of sort of what I ’ m going to be talking about, Obviously, First, it ’ s going to be how my Source actually managed to get that data and how he managed to Track a phone um to Queens New York, The supply chain of that location data is not as simple As me, just going to T-Mobile Buying the data and then getting it there, There are various Organizations, companies in sort Of a trickle down effect um of how this industry actually Works And then I ’ m, going to Show that it ’ s, it wasn, ’ t just one off for us Like we didn’t Get lucky and like oh, this is One instance of abuse: it is uh, an endemic problem, Uh and Leaked documents that we got From one company, specifically marketing uh to bounty hunters, To geolocate phones, kinda shows The like wider breadth of this um issue, But then there ’ s like A short part at the end, which Shows how you can still do it today with a different method.
Including for Verizon data um as Well – And it is worryingly simple to actually get a hold of That data, So what actually is The information that ’ s being sold, I mean, as the vast Majority of you will know your Cell phones are constantly phoning home uh to cell phone Towers nearby, so T-Mobile or Whoever can say hey, this is where to root the text, messages Or where to root um the phone Calls And the byproduct of that has caused the general physical Location depending on you know, How close you are to the cell towers and that sort of thing In the one we got, it was a few Blocks Um in these ones.
These are real phone pings from bounty, Hunter services, The one on the Left is quite broad, Like that’s, not super helpful. The one on The right is, I mean that ’ s more Than five or six blocks right, That is a section of a city Uh But if you ’ re, a bounty hunter Or if you’re, trying to stalk someone uh or anything really That can still be useful. Information, So it really really does vary The quality of The data, But it is not just Cell phone tower data There: ’ s, also assisted GPS or A-GPS data.
Of course, this runs from the GPS Chip in your phone And it ’ s typically reserved for um Emergency responders Or 911 Where they need to locate you uh, for whatever reason It it if There, ’ s an incident: this is much More precise It: ’ s not really blocks it. ’ s! More! Double! Digit! Figures, you know under 20 Meters, sometimes Uh, and sometimes it can show where Someone is inside a building, Again, this is a real phone ping, It doesn, ’ t show where they Are in the building, They could Be in the backyard or in the living room or whatever, But They ’ re clearly in that Building And um I did blur the outer edge of it because I ’ m.
Actually not sure if this is a Fugitive or if it ’ s, someone who ’ s, the victim of stalking or Abuse Uh and that ’ s actually Sort of an issue of reporting this cause – you can ’ t, always tell Unless you manage to actually Talk to a um, a victim which is uh difficult, So how the hell Did um did the person actually Manage to locate that phone in Queens New York, Which is of Course the first question I I Kind of wanted to answer – I ’ m, going to give like a skeleton or a Template of how it works in General but then drill down to the um specifics.
So obviously It starts with the carriers AT And T T-Mobile, whoever Who they have this data anyway, They Give it to law enforcement if They need it or if they do an overbroad warrant or whatever Um but one day the carriers Decided that we can also sell this data uh for various Purposes They then, rather than Just selling it straight to people uh, which would be Logistically difficult there Would be a lot of infrastructure involved? They ’ d, have to you.
Know set up their own customer Support or whatever they sell, um access to that data to Location aggregators And I Should just say it: ’ s not like there. ’ s, a sequel, dump that ’ s! Being sold from T-Mobile to Location aggregators, then someone else It ’ s more, like They ’ re selling the capability. To look up that data via an API or whatever it may be, Um and Then, when you want the data You ’ ll, look it up it! ’ s, not like um, a single dump of information.
But location aggregators, yeah They act as this bottleneck And there ’ s. There were three: I Think there ’ s two now and they Purely focus on location data, So they may say we wan na prevent Fraud with banks uh, we we ’ ll, Be able to check the hey if this person is logging in from I don ’ t, know the Philippines or Something but their phone is actually in the UK There. ’ s some Sort of weird discrepancy there And maybe we can block the transaction And there ’ s, lots of Use uh uses for location data But what they do is the bottleneck, then kind of expands.
Out, like an hourglass and that Data access is sold to data brokers. Now these guys don, ’ t Focus just on location data, They may do address lookups, maybe phone subscriber Information, So you give it a Phone, maybe you ’ ll, get the IMEI and you know the name and Address of the person who? ’ s: Using it, uh sometimes license plate information And they will Cater to all sorts of um Industries Who uh whoever it may be, And then you have the End user clients who are Actually, okay, I ’ m going to do this.
Look up and now I ’ m, going to find The location of a um, a T-Mobile Phone And this is where a bounty hunter: ’ s going to be or uh a Property salesman or a used car Salesman, who also have had access to um this sort of data So the phone we tracked uh it Just happened to be on the T-Mobile network When I was Talking to my source uh, they Said that you can basically do any phone except Verizon, So Yeah we found a T-Mobile device.
And sent that number over And then the way we figured this out. Was obviously that source was Very knowledgeable about the uh industry. I ended up speaking to The location aggregators to Other people who have used the company other people that have Used similar tools And there ’ s – Even PDF, ’ s online that are just sitting out there. This story, Has kind of been out there in The open um, but it kind of required the source proving it Could happen to kind of bring it All together, T-Mobile sold the access to Zumigo, which is one Of the two location, aggregators Uh, they ’ re, the one that primarily focuses on you know.
We want to prevent fraud and That sort of thing, But to give an idea of sort of companies That we ’ re dealing with this is A presentation that the FC sorry that Zumigo gave to the Fcc, the Federal Communications Commission a few years ago, This PDF was just online on the FCC Website And you ’ ll – see the top It says wi they ’ re lobbying to remove the consent requirement. Of stating the information That ’ s being released by the carrier When phone carriers Sell this information they do It under the prerequisite that whoever is using it is going to Um seek consent, So you ’ ll, push A text message: you, ’ ll, push a phone call saying: Hi, you ’ re! About to be tracked by, I don ’ t Know uh AA Roadside Assistance, something like that Is that Okay, Uh, you ex, hopefully Explicitly opt in uh and then they can get your location Here Zumigo is trying to get Rid of that, so you ’ d – have to opt out of um having your location.
Tracked at any time by any of The companies in the supply chain – They weren, ’ t successful. In that, but it does give you an Indication of what sort of companies um we ’ re, dealing with. Here Then, under that there ’ s a Date, a data broker called microbilt Um and again, as I Mentioned the data brokers Don, ’ t just sell location data. These were doing address. Lookups They weren, ’ t doing License plate uh, I seem to remember but also sort of uh um Useful information, you might Want, if you ’ re tracking someone Um so after the source told me About microbilt, I look around I go on their website.
I find this nice little PDF about a Project called Mobile Device Verify Um, which sounds more innocuous than it actually is Because then, when you drill down It ’ s like the geolocation lat long coordinates of the phone The estimated location accuracy The proximity of the location um to another, one That would be Comparing it to an address, Something like that Um and then I did something else that we Don, ’ t normally do As well as Paying the source to locate the phone, I also made to be honest: A very crap undercover identity, Pretending to be a bounty hunter Just made a new email, Address and contacted microbilt Saying hi, I ’ m interested in your mobile tracking product And I explicitly said I am a Bail bondsman – and I want it for this purpose.
They handily Replied with a nice little price, List – And here you can see there – ’ s the location, Verification Which just be you Pay $ 4.95 uh. If you ’ re, looking between one and 250 phones, I Think that ’ s per lookup uh but I ’ d have to double check, But then underneath there ’ s the Monitoring per device service So microbilt doesn, ’ t do just individual pings, but you could Pay to track a phone hourly uh Daily weekly, um and potentially more granular than that, if you Just pay a little bit more Money Uh, I can ’ t think of many legitimate uses of a private Company selling to private Individuals, a constant monitoring service, The Individual ping is almost Defensible, I don ’ t quite see uh the legitimate use case for it.
Monitoring per device And as You see it, ’ s like $ 12.95 there, so it ’ s like exceedingly cheap To buy this data from these um From these companies – And it ’ s not just bounty hunters, So as I Said microbilt caters to all These different industries, but specifically with the mobile Tracking product, they ’ re, doing Motor vehicle sea uh sales, which will be used car salesmen, Car dealerships that sort of Thing Um, maybe if they ’ re, doing a background check on someone Who? ’ s? Buying a very expensive Car, Or I think uh definite use case is if someone is behind on Their payments and they need to Repossess the vehicle: well, we ’ ll, track their phone and then We ’ ll, find out where they are And then we will get a repo man to go.
Get the um the car from Them Uh and then they ’ re. Also Doing for property managers Uh, you know just people, landlords, Who are renting out um their Buildings Um: I ’ m, not entirely sure on how that data is Actually, uh used by them, but Microbilt were explicitly advertising to that market and It was explicitly the phone Tracking product, as well as the other ones as well [ speaker Sniffs ] And then you get to the Bottom of the chain, Um and allegedly the end user, was Bail.
Integrity Solutions, I say: Allegedly because I don ’ t know They weren, ’ t my source, It ’ s. Only after our reporting Microbilt did an internal investigation and they found That the the phone lookup was Allegedly from Bail Integrity Solutions There, ’ s an ongoing Lawsuit there you can go, look At the public court documents and that ’ s who they name um as The sort of bail, bondsman or Bounty hunter firm that was um getting access to this data.
Now I ’ m, not in that supply. Chain, and neither is my source obviously So. This is, where sort Of the legitimate trade quote, Unquote, legitimate trade ends and the black market begins Um Bail Integrity Solutions then Gave that phone ping to Google Map interface to my source, who Gave it to me Uh or another way, To put it is that I Motherboard gave the phone Number to my source, who gave The phone number to Bail Integrity Solutions who then Triggered a lookup via the Microbilt API, which goes up through Zumigo to to to T-Mobile grabs the current Location brings it back down and then it gets um sent to me.
Uh and just to stress, obviously I ’ ve set this higher up, but I should not have been able to get This data As sketchy as bounty Hunters getting it it! ’ s even worse. If I a completely Unauthorized party was able to Buy and obtain and use this data uh on the black market. [ speaker Sniffs ], So that was the one case. Um that, as I said, is not an isolated incident, So there ’ s a Website online CerCareOne, uh Dot com: I think You can go look it up now.
It is still There, When you visit it, looks Like a normal placeholder, Thank you for visiting our site, it ’ s! Under construction, okay, There, ’ s there! ’ s, nothing really to look at here, But you go to a Specific section of the site and It has a login portal Um that red bit is just my IP address: um That I uh redacted for for just Making these screenshots Uh and email address password, you Log in You, ’ ll, you ’ ll notice.
That there ’ s no registration option. I ’ m, not exactly sure how People join this website, Invite Only uh maybe apply some other way um, but you can ’ t just go and Sign up for this site, which is Because this is a secret website and secret company only for Serving bounty hunters Um, we Haven, ’ t published these before and I [ speaking with laughter ] Appreciate they are heavily Redacted Uh, but I did of course, wan na show you some stuff that We haven, ’ t been able to publish Before So, my source, as well as uh looking up the phone provided, Me with a cache of documents, Various files from inside CerCareOne From what we can Determine these screenshots Were taken with an administrator account of CerCareOne, So you Log in with an admin account and You can see a list of all of the users uh who are on this Website In all, it was around 250 bounty hunter companies which had their own accounts on This website So that ’ s 250 bail, Integrity solutions who may be looking up for their own Purposes for professional Reasons, Maybe their staff fancy looking up their girlfriends Location which I have um been Told happens in this industry And it ’ s also 250 people who may Resell that access to people who Aren, ’ t supposed to have it like me, Um and then it it ’ s.
Just Like a normal functioning Pretty basic website, You have numbers that you would click That would show obviously the Phone numbers, someone: ’ s, looked up; um the activity which I Think actually may show the Phone pings – I ’ m, not entirely sure on that one And then the Billing you just top up your Account with maybe 1,000 dollars and then we can start pinging Some phones, It ’ s, really really.
That simple, So you go and you click on the numbers and um Including the data there was Obviously, a list of the phone numbers that people have been Geolocating Uh on the left, Those are the numbers I had to redact them slightly. Then you Have the date and the time of The lookup To the right of that you have the IP addresses which Will become a bit more important, Later Uh, whether it was found or not, And the sort of data That was obtained right at the End the cell phone tower data or the A-GPS data that I Mentioned up top I mean, as you Can see again, it does vary wildly The top one um a Diameter of 582 meters Right Down at the bottom, to like three and a half kilometers, So it ’ s.
Not super reliable, but if you Are a bounty hunter just trying to find if someone ’ s in, I don ’ t Know Minnesota or then a Particular city, or even like a district of a city, this is still Going to be um pretty helpful And Then you can see the A-GPS stuff right down to, as I said, double Digit, uh, proximity or or Accuracy, Just 13 meters uh, you might be able to find someone So I mentioned that this was a Secret website um, of course I ’ m, not talking about any sort of Official classification – I just Means that, in the terms and conditions of the site that I Also got a copy of um, it says That, if you are using this service, you need to never reveal The website or the companies Existence to anyone Um.
Obviously, someone broke that Those terms of use Uh, thank you. For doing that, But it it just goes to show you what pains they Went to really really keep this Under wraps, As well as the hidden login portal uh and the Lack of registration and the Fact that they ’ re, telling people to keep it uh quiet. So I Mentioned the IP addresses And They tell you when you sign up give to us CerCareOne two IP: ’ s! That we can whitelist That way.
You know we ’ ll, minimize abuse and we ’ ll, be able to. You know. Keep on top of privacy, uh and All that sort of thing – And they also tell you to be careful if You ’ re using a password cause. Obviously this is very sensitive data And you go through the Information Again, the phone Numbers the dates and the IP ’ s There. ’ s more than two IP! ’ s! There 64 dot 71 dot, 131 87 Um clearly, the two IP rule is not really enforced at Cercareone Uh leading one of my Sources um to stipulate And then some supporting evidence as Well that this particular Administrator at CerCareOne was potentially reselling their Access to the system on the Black market to other people who would want it, Obviously we saw Ip! ’ s from the US, as you probably Would expect, but there were connections from Israel uh for Lithuania, various other places Now, obviously, some of those could be VPN.
’ s! Vps! ’ s! Whatever! But it still goes to show that Sort of lack the lack of security measures uh on this Website And just indicative of This sort of secondary market that is going on underneath This And I didn ’ t mention this Earlier when I introduced the website, but when you use Cercareone there is no text, Message there is no phone call, there is no warning to the Target device uh being pushed So the target has no idea um, they ’ re, being tracked At all.
Uh, and that was according to two Sources, familiar um with how the system works and who had used It And then it some of it is Just a normal, you know payment website, People are signing up, With their personal gmail Addresses This isn: ’ t! You know at legit, bail, bonds, dot, com, It ’ s, just some blokes personal Gmail Uh and you can top it up with um a couple: a grand of Credit and you can go and locate Some phones as well, So we have, we ’ ve, never shown this before This is uh a nearly full Screenshot of the CerCareOne um system in action: This is what You will see when you will log In You will look up a phone number and then this is what it Will present you Um so Obviously you the there will be the phone number the address.
Of what the ping is, the lat Long uh, the type of data in this case A-GPS the time And Then the very nice pay per ping Balance at the bottom for 206 uh 226 dollars left Um, the name at The top Dan Grable uh, I Believe he was this administrator of the um of the Site Uh of three admins who ran Cercareone, he runs a sort of um. They they sell telephone Services to businesses and that Sort of thing – and it appears that he was one of the accounts – That may have been reselling Access because there are all of these different IP – ’ s connecting Through his um account Uh, he Hasn, ’ t responded to request for comment, but if he wants to chat I ’ m happy to This and and And this particular ping has um a sort of story behind it, So in May 2017 two bounty hunters are Trying to track a fugitive from Minnesota, They track him.
Somehow, to this Nissan Dealership just off the highway in Texas, The bounty hunters go In They lie to the dealership, And say: hi: we ’ re um, US law enforcement. We ’ re trying to Apprehend someone dangerous Can We wait here for the guy to turn up The dealership, not wanting To you know, interfere with a Apparent law enforcement investigation says yes, sure, Uh The fugitive comes back, They Confront him weapons drawn Uh, all three men are armed There.
’ s! A brief scuffle Uh, the Fugitive, ’ s: gun falls out of his belt. Onto a desk, Goes to grab It and then in about six seconds 20, shots are fired from all three guns at each other, Uh and All three men die very soon: After that, Um a family uh of young children or with young Children run away people Scream you can go, read the uh, the footage on YouTube Um, but Then very strangely, just Shortly after um those killings and the deaths, someone starts Using CerCareOne to look up the Location of their bounty hunter: ’ s! Phones, And that ’ s! What This ping is, I don, ’ t think it.
’ s. A coincidence that two bounty hunters are out on a job and Someone starts tracking their Phones And then just before this lookup, the same account According to the data is used, To look up the location of a phone from Minnesota, Which is Where the fugitive was on the Run from We couldn, ’ t determine you know using various tools. Like people dot come or various Ocentures we couldn’t determine who that phone belonged to Because it looked like it, didn ’ t Really have any registration information, It seemed to be a Relatively new phone – And you Can maybe infer from that what you will, but we only publish What we can know right So we We say we we weren, ’ t able to identify that, apart from it, Being a Minnesota phone and it Was before um the shooting Very shortly before multiple pings Uh before that – And it was also Located after the shootings as well, so that we can ’ t really Explain, Um, and even if this is Not a case of um, oh, we ’ re.
Looking up the location, Necessarily of a fugitive, it is Still, indicative of the sort of people who are connected to this Market of phone location data That it ’ s, two bounty hunters who went in they didn, ’ t take their Body armor that was allegedly in Their vehicle, they lied about being US law enforcement. They Then go on a shootout that Endangers a family of young children, they die and they Killed someone as well Um, it Just shows the sort of people that are connected to this um This industry, So we had Microbilt, which was the one I bought the ping from And then Awhile before we had the Cercareone example, I just gave Uh and then just before that and Kind of also overlapping, with Cercareone we had a service called locate your cell dot com, That ’ s still online, you can go Look it up And it appears this is one of the earliest examples.
Of um private individuals, Selling the capability to look up: um phones, So this isn – ’ t Marketed to bounty, hunters or Roadside assistance, it ’ s, marketed to people who lost Their cell phone – and they want To find it Or it ’ s marketed to people who maybe their their Kid went to the park and they Haven, ’ t come back and they want to check they. ’ re, okay Or maybe Their senior relative of Dementia, who ’ s a bit confused and they they didn? ’ t gum, come Home or something like that, Um The owner of this website, who, when you actually look into some Of the who is this, who, who his History and various other connecters is also uh, linked to Cercareone Uh a guy called um Frank Rabito He is quoted in like some obscure local media Report from years and years ago, Boasting about how he used his company to help a woman find her Phone that she left in the Supermarket car park, Which is clearly not a uh law enforcement, Use or really a legitimate use, Of um data or capability that is um, this powerful, The the System, isn, ’ t online right now.
But as I said, you can go to the website and you can. I think you Can even create an account, I Believe I tried to um be contacts you use to lookup at The moment because CerCareOne um Was shut down it? ’ s not exactly clear how And it appears this Shared the same access or at Least, similar access Um, so this is no longer in operation or Live just at the moment, [ speaker swigs, drink ], So you may be wondering where Verizon is in All of this, The microbilt Example, where we pinged a phone, as I mentioned, It was only AT And T Sprint and T-Mobile Um And then, from from what I understand, Verizon has taken a Much stronger stance against This than the other tel co – ’ s, Um [, speaker, voice, strain ], one Bounty hunter told me or sorry One bounty hunter and one other source told me that Verizon has Enforced it so that consent text Or that consent call that ’ s supposed to be pushed when you Locate a phone they ’ re.
Now Enforcing that at the carrier level, So they ’ re, not delegating That responsibility to the Location aggregators or the data brokers or the end users They ’ re, like we, ’ ll handle it. We will push the text out when you make an API request and then We will only release it um when We get the confirmation of consent, Which of course, is a Good thing, But I wan na stress Something that has kind of been lost in our coverage, Verizon is Not innocent in this at all Um Last year, uh Senator Ron, Wyden, ’ s office and the New York Times.
Did this sort of uh current Investigation to uh parallel an investigation. I ’ m, not entirely Sure but it was showing how all Of the major carriers were selling the real time location, Data access to a company called Securus, Which would give it to low level law enforcement like Prison guards and officials Without a warrant They would log in to a Securus portal. Upload a PDF of some sort of Document that kind of looked legit and then they would just Let them um do the request and Pull the data Um, they could do that without a warrant.
They Could do that without a Subpoena They could do that without any sort of court order. Um and Ron Wyden described it as Sort of a pinky promise of ensuring this data was actually Being requested properly So There ’ s that Securus case as well, But then we also found one Earlier before that, And this Is kind of in between secure CerCareOne and Securus, they all Have these really similar names? In between that Um and as you can see right there, there ’ s Verizon Instantly look up the Phone uh location of basically any phone in the United States, Uh again it ’ s cell phone tower; Triangulation and it uh GPS data.
If available, You get a Nice little Google maps Interface and it ’ s, only seven pounds, uh, seven dollars: 50 um, a Lookup And if it doesn ’ t work, You don’t have to pay It. ’ s all good, So this was explicitly Marketing to bounty hunters as Well – And I actually published this last year – sh uh shortly After the Ron Wyden one And Nobody uh, I uh. I it it didn, ’ t it. Nobody really paid.
Attention to it I mean I was Glad we got it out because I had never heard about this before But it didn, ’ t uh it didn. ’ t get Much attention, But this is the story that actually triggered The main phone pinging source at The top of the talk to come forward and say: hey there, ’ s a Company that ’ s still doing this And this isn ’ t just a US problem Uh. I know a lot of uh My articles, especially and other People who may maybe talked about they ’ re.
Quite US focused But this is, I mean it: ’ s, not Global but it is in other countries, So this is a Screenshot from a map that Someone sent me uh from a company called, I think it. ’ s. Telesign Uh I may have or Telesigns But they provide, you, know two FA solutions. So if You want to implement some sort, Of turn, key solution for I need to have SMS to appear on my Website these guys will help You, as far as I know, Uh they have like Salesforce um as Clients that sort of thing And Then you go on their website.
You look up their capabilities. And their coverage and then About half way down there, phone ID current location plus, Which Isn: ’ t exactly subtle in what it Does Obviously, it provides the current location of the phone Um and in blue are the places Where they have services available United States, Canada, India, uh and then coming Soon, the Philippines, So when uh a source sent me this, of course, I contacted Telesign like so Where ’ d, you get this data That that that ’ s that ’ s pretty Interesting Uh, they immediately Took the map offline and replied, we don ’ t sell that Data I don ’ t know why you have A a map online advertising, this data, if you don, ’ t, sell it or you Don, ’ t have any clients, But um That ’ s allegedly uh what they say Um.
So after we did the Phone pinging story, where we Geolocated the phone um AT and T T-Mobile and Sprint said they Were going to stop the sale of Location data to all third parties Um and as far as we Know that went into effect for All of them in May Uh, as I said, Verizon, who had already Done it, But now all the major Tel co: ’ s are not selling uh, that particular uh supply chain of Location data um to anyone, Uh It seems, But obviously that is not the end.
As I said, there is Another section um on how this Data uh can still be obtained uh today. So let ’ s say you. ’ re an Attacker and you wan na get hold Of some real time location data from a tel co., All you really Need to do is pose as law Enforcement, you phone up the carrier, you send them an email, And you get the location data Obviously this is a massive over-simplification, So uh to Give a more concrete um example: There was an uh a case.
A few years ago, a guy called John Edens He is a a debt Collector, When someone ’ s behind, they, ’ re payments on their cars. He ’ s tasked by an insurance Company or a dealership or whatever So can you goo Please go find the person, so we Can repossess this vehicle Um? He has a history of domestic Violence and stalking Uh Beating his wife, various other um charges and prosecutions, He Had a habit of posing as um US Marshals Um, he would make some spoof email addresses.
I think He would spoof phone numbers as Well And he would contact in particular, T-Mobile, Um and Then, with that T-Mobile would Handily uh reply with the location data of a number of his Choosing Um he didn, ’ t have to Provide you know warrants or anything like that and obviously He can’t because he ’ s, not Actually, law enforcement, But he would provide fake exigent Circumstances requests And this Is where um law enforcement think there is? You know there Is a threat of life and it ’ s too.
Urgent to go through the normal process of going to a magistrate, Judge getting a warrant Getting that back and then we get the data It ’ s like a child. Has been kidnapped, we need this Um this data immediately because you know there: ’ s an Imminent risk of harm, The FBI, Have used this um in various other ways, uh in a slight Different way to do you know, Deploy malware against um child abusers and that sort of thing So he would contact T-Mobile Pretending to be US Marshals, He would do it on certain days or Certain times of the day, um so Particular people were working, He would build a rapport with Them you know normal social Engineering, Wouldn, ’ t contact them when it would be um.
You Know maybe there ’ s, someone Who? ’ s quite strict and they ’ re not going to give out the data he Would try to avoid them Um, but He would get through to the right person And then so you See they would eventually Eventually, reply with the with the lat, the long uh and uh the Handy Google Maps interface So This is a uh, I mean this is a screenshot from one of the Documents in his court case He Was caught, he was prosecuted um.
I think he ’ s out now. Um the DHA Redacted the phone number but They did not redact the GPS coordinates, so I ’ ve done that. Because I think that ’ s quite Wild to put a victim of abuse: ’ s: GPS coordinates in a court. Document But there you go Um You can see that the data – ’ s, 2014, so that ’ s, obviously a long time. Ago but someone else was Indicted either two or three months ago for doing the same to Verizon To doing to to AT and T And T-Mobile um, I think And potentially Sprint as well, but Basically, a selection of the Large tel co: ’ s, including Verizon, as far as I know, Um and people Are doing this approach now? Today and they they may do it for their own purpose.
They may Do it like John Edens, did where I need to find this person. I need to track where their car is And repossess it Sure Whatever, But there are people who will do this as a service And then they will sell that Data um on the black market – And these are text messages, uh Between two people doing just That So um on the left hand side is the person selling the Phone pings On the right hand, Side is the um debt collector the skip tracer saying: hey Here, ’ s! The phone number could You look it up And I think this is on telegram And you can just See how casual it is It? ’ s! Hey! Here: ’ s the phone numbers for right now; here: ’ s; another phone! Number They reply with the lat Long um and the diameter of the lookup And then thank you, Smiley face Um, they may do Another one but the powers, the allegedly the phone: ’ s turned off.
So maybe they didn ’ t get a Reading Um and then you also see on the second screenshot on The right hand side on the you Know the second message down: it says for 11 PM PST. Obviously If you ’ re, a bounty hunter, you Don’t necessarily want to have a lookup um straight away If Someone, ’ s in bed, say at five. Am that ’ s going to be a pretty good time to get there real time? Location data Or because then Of course, you can go, maybe kick down the door or apprehend them.
When they ’ re, um least expecting It From what I understand, this person was selling legitimate Real genuine phone pings Through that scamming system outlined reselling them, But Then, when they um, they lost Their capability – somehow I don ’ t, know if the tel co. ’ s. Caught on or uh, maybe there was A new staff member at the tel co: ’ s! Something like that: Um They wouldn, ’ t able they weren.
’ t Able to um do that any longer, so they started scamming um people And saying that they would take Numbers they would allegedoo le allegedly do lookups and Then just send some cord Coordinates and still take on the 300 500 dollars, And this Has caused um a lot of issues in The bounty hunting industry with people scamming each other And After our coverage, where the tel Co, ’ s stopped selling it um.
We ’ ve, seen a spike of scams where um People will do you know quite Good looking Here, ’ s an auto form, a PDF. We ’ re. It Consultants and we will do a Lookup for you um in India, in the US as well um, but they are Scammers, It ’ s similar to how You know there: ’ s, almost the unicorn of criminal first Service SS7 access, which does Happen but when someone says or someone reports here, ’ s a toll.
Hidden service, you give em 500 Bucks and you get SS7 lookup it. ’ s, probably going to be a fake Right, And that seems to be the Case here, But among the fakes there are people who are people, Who are still genuinely doing? This um, and if you have the right contact, you can do Whatever you want with that, Data You, you can stalk someone, you can trace your Boyfriend, your girlfriend Whoever The person uh, one of the clients with Securus, was Doing it to look up the position, Of a judge Uh, I know people who have uh allegedly done it to Their ex wives, Uh and again John Eden, ’ s had a history of domestic violence and when he Would track someone he would Turn up at that house uh be very violent, be very intimidating.
And just the risk of abuse here, Is um so great So that ’ s everything uh! I wanted to Present Again, if you know Anything about location data who ’ s, buying it, who ’ s, selling It um any sort of capability. There Uh, of course it ’ s, not just phone carriers, it ’ s, apps, as Well, If anyone can buy that Data that ’ s my signal, my Wickr, my Jabber, my email And um. I Think I actually rushed through That so, if anyone has any questions, I ’ m happy to ask If Not uh, if you don, ’ t want to talk.

I often referred to myself as like the guinea pig, so I test things out see what wakes myself and then, basically I passed it on to you guys or to those that are in my coaching program. So, as you can see here on this virtual whiteboard fun fact that has actually got a real whiteboard, any more used to have one in the office, but don’t actually have one at home. So that’s why we’re using this virtual whiteboard for now, but as you can see, we’ve got four pillars if you will – and these are basically the four pillars of social media marketing.
So what I like to do, when I have a business model or a funnel or a flow or anything that I want to map out, I always try and break it down into its simplest form. I try and keep it as simple as possible. You know I see all these gurus trying to make this sound, extremely complex. It just to confuse you and to source to try and impress you with their knowledge and skills, but to be fair. Social media marketing is extremely simple.
It’s just a service based business model where you offer your services to clients in exchange for a monthly retainer. So, as you can see, these are the four pillars of social media marketing and the first pillar is obviously outreach, so you need to be reaching out to businesses to see if they actually need your help. Let me just quickly erase that and go for a black font where they change that here we go, so I think it’s black now, no, it’s still great okay, fair enough, the others.
They were great for nothing so for outreach, so the first pillar of social media marketing is reaching out outreach. You need to be reaching out to a bunch of businesses. You know again we’ll get into the niche pic and etc in in a later stage of this article, but the first pillar. The first thing you need to do before anything else is to reach out to businesses and see a lot of people getting stuck with this.
Where they build the website, they are unsure about what to do, because they don’t know how to get results for clients, etc and obviously guys I just just focus on the outreach first and all the rest will fall into place and i’ve done the exact same. You know i’ve made this exact mistake myself when I first started out in 2016, I got into what I like to call the website mentality. Where okay, you know, I decided.
Okay, I want to start social media marketing. So the first thing I did was I googled how to build a website, because I thought, okay, if I am an agency, I need this. This no fancy looking website, but I did not know how to build a website and I didn’t have the money at the time to you get someone else to build the website, because I actually spends all my money on online courses. So I spent the first month, you know basically trying to figure out how to build a website with WordPress, I readed all the articles on YouTube, etc.
Finally, built a website after like a month of trying to figure it all out, and then I saw this YouTube article of a guy that had a lead magnet. I had no idea what a lead magnet was at the time, so again went back into discovery. Mode starts looking into lead magnets, then I, I listened, wrote out an entire book on like the 10 steps that businesses go wrong or make same mistakes that businesses make with social media marketing.
So once I he book, then I tried to figure out how to actually sell it as a lead magnet and before I knew I was like three four months down the line and not a single business was reached out soup. Not a signal single message was since to potential clients, so if you are starting out, the first thing you need to do is outreach. Okay, again, like I said we will get into how to do that, how to pick an easy touch in a late stage of the article, but you want to start with the four pillars here.
So the first pillar is outreach. The second pillar is sales okay. So you reach out to a business and in the second pillar, is you need to sell that business on your service, the great or the easy way to do? This is, unless you ask them, okay: where are you now? Where do you want to be, and if you think that the service that you are offering can take them from A to B, then you offer your service. Then we’ve got project management, which is, let’s see what it says.
You know you are managing the project, so each individual clients is or can be seen as an individual project, and you need to manage that. So you need to make sure that the clients is happy that he is getting reports every now and again or updates. Every now and again that, basically all of the demands calls on quotes of the clients, rbms KPIs are being hit, and so on and so forth and in the last pillar is project development, and that is actually you getting the results for the clients so actually Brewin.
The Facebook Ads, if that is what you’re offering actually building the website, is that if that’s what you’re offering actually posted on the social again, if that is what you are offering okay, so this is SR MA in its simplest form: outreach sales project, management’s project developments; Okay, now I have said that this will be you you know before while explaining this, but that does not necessarily mean that you need to be doing every single one of these pillars.
So, for example, with outreach you can have appointment status. Let me just see if I can actually change this column out. No still gray still can’t figure out how to change it. I’ve got something to do with something here. I better go. That’s black so I’ll quickly erase this on the eraser there we go okay, so I said you can get appointments setters to set appointments for you. You can find data miners that will find email addresses for you.
You can even run Facebook Ads to generate meetings, etc. You know there are so many ways of doing outreach that does not necessary need to be you manually reaching out these businesses. Okay same goes for sales. You can get a hi to her closer to do. You know the way for you to close the client for you and you can even just get a sales team that does it for you, and this can all be on commission basis.
So, for example, the appointment set that you can say: okay, you will get 10 % of the first month for setting the appointments. If the client actually closes, then the hi ticker closer again, you can say: okay, you get 20 %, Ricky Roe or 40 % off the first month. For example, I’m just just make it up like basically numbers out loud here, but the way my business now is set or path just got a full time employee.
That basically manages most of the front end for me, and I’m extremely grateful for that. But when you’re starting out this is something that you can look into then project management’s, which is basically managing all the clients. You know, speaking to the client, communication, etc. You can just hire a VA to do this, and this does not have to be expensive. You know you’ve got VA s for anywhere from one to three dollars an hour depending on where they are based.
You know how fluent they are and English Chamonix how much experience they’ve got and so on and so forth. So we can get a VA to do. The communication with the clients and in terms of project development – again, it’s also does depend on what sales you are offering. I am offering Facebook ads and basically a full generation etc. Bought me, you know my main core offer is Facebook Ads and I currently do this myself.
So I’m actually the one that’s running the ads in the pub on the back end, but you can also just get a media buyer to do this on your behalf and immediate, buy a good media. Buyer will be a little bit more expensive. Most media bias that I have dealt with nowadays are anywhere between 500 to 800 a month. If your media buyer is more expensive than this, they will need to be able to back that up with good results, but anyway, team 581.
German is you know the normal price for a decent media buyer now quick disclaimer with the media buyer? If, because, obviously there are a lot of people now, they start your claim to be a media buying X, base Facebook, ads experience, etc. When you are speaking to a potential media, buyer always ask to see the business manager always ask to see their portfolio and always give them analysts access to your clients and ask them to give a detailed report on what they would do.
If they. Actually, you know basic got that client off you. So if you know, if you outsource that client to the media buyer, what they will do in that situation, if you think okay, this guy is the real deal, and basically this pillar does not cost you more than 50 %, so that if this can be outsourced For less than 50 percent of the retainer then do it. If not, then I would not go for it because you know you want a healthy profit margin at the end of everything.
You know basically cause it’s your agency and you are actually build, not this agency. Okay, so that is it in terms of the four pillars: Minster weights, as I scroll down further or always think move this up there, we go tapes that have moved off, and then so these are. This is the this is literally social media marketing in its purest form the four pillars of social media marketing. So when you are starting out what I would recommend doing, because again with the mistake that I made was that I created the website, I tried to figure out how to set up a lead, magnet, and I rewrote as an e-book and stuff like that.
What I would do in your situation when starting out or if I had to start from scratch again now? What I would do is. I would create a Facebook profile. Okay, so it not a business profile, not a facebook business page not like that. Just a personal profile and on a personal profile, you’ll have a cover photo that looks professional. I would remove all tanks, show you in focus of parties and friends, etc.
So remove all the tags. Why? Because you want this to look as professional as possible, but you can also do LinkedIn if you’d rather do that. So LinkedIn is the next one board Facebook business profile for me, a facebook profile. Sorry, not a business page like that. What we’re going to do is build out a profile funnel so Facebook profile with a professional-looking image a cover photo. That explains what you do, so you can have a cover photo with text.
That says, I help Realtors get more leads for more buyers and sellers and Sesa for their state agents, or something like that. Okay and then another thing you can actually have is a featured image. Okay, so a featured image is basically what you have. On the left hand, side just on your bio and it’s just a quick image that you can upload and basically explains again what you can do for your clients, okay, so this is what you’ve got on your Facebook profile.
So the number one thing that you can do is the Facebook profile or LinkedIn profile. Okay. The second thing I want you to do is to pick a service yeah. In fact, you can actually pick two services. Okay max so pick two Max services. Why? Because we want to source a niche down what we actually offer them, we don’t want to be a jack-of-all-trades. We don’t want to offer SEO Pinterest Instagram blog posts, VA services, social media management, funnel building, etc.
Okay pick two services: why? Because it will be much much easier for you in the long run, to manage this as a business. So, yes, you might have the time now to basically take on all of these different types of services, but just think imagine if you’ve got like eight nine clients. All quests and all these different types of services you’re going to be all over the place, so just pick two services max.
So for me, if I had to start again, it would be Facebook Ads and a follow building. So I just put let’s see for an old big okay, so funnel building and Facebook ads. Those will be the two services that I would offer you can do social media management website design. It completely depends on what you want to offer on what kind of agency you want to be, but that is basically what I would choose: okay, so Facebook Ads and funnel build.
So now, we’ve got our profile set off. We’ve gotten our two services or one service. You can also just pick one service that is completely fine, so we now have our social presence. We’ve got our service now, it’s time to actually start with the first pillar, which is outreach, so we need to start reaching out to potential businesses. What I would do is, I would look into cold email outreach. Why? Because it’s just effective okay, you can reach out to the owner of any type of business.
You know, there’s the so many difference apps for little plugins. I use Hunter dot IO to basically see like, for example, this website is called AWWA, P, P calm and I should see here. We’ve got hello, I AWA P comm info at and then this is the CMO which is door Rita or door ot. I’r not sure. I pronounced that so, as you can see here, these are emails that I can use to reach out to this software and say: listen either on Facebook ads for you guys, hey so hunter dot, IO, which what you can use are with our agency.
Now the entire outreach path is automated. Slash, outsource. We’ve got this hybrid automation going on for those without in the coaching program. You guys won’t know what I mean, but for those who are just starting out start off with cold email or log into Facebook groups white, because regardless of the niche or industry, there are always Facebook groups of that initial industry. So, for example, if you’re going to reach out to spas, there are groups, Facebook groups of spa owners that are basically sharing ideas.
Okay, if you are reaching out to real realtors again, there’s Real Estate’s Facebook groups out there of Realtors. You know basis sharing ideas and you know helping each other out. So you know it’s it’s it’s true to say you know you are the average of the five people you spend most time with, so everyone that his entrepreneurial, that has their own business will want to. Basically surround themselves with other like-minded people, so people that are in the same industry and business and the same I am always trying to get in contact with successful agency owners.
You know just to pick their brains to share my knowledge and experience, but also get knowledge and experience back from them, so find Facebook groups and find the groups that they are most likely to be in okay, so you’ve got email and you’ve got Facebook groups. Okay and then the third one, which is sort of low-hanging fruits, if you will, is freelancer websites. Why? Because people that pull up job post on freelancer websites are actively looking for people like you to take on these services, so you no longer need to convince these businesses that they need facebook ads.
They need social media management, they need a new website because they already know that, and that is why they put up a job post on these freelancer websites. You know asking for someone to help them. Okay, so the one I like to use is called up.Wake and yes, there are a lot of people that have like quake courses and stuff, like that. I actually just have a free beginner course that basically explains the entire awkward business model, and if you want access to that, all you need to do well, there’s two ways of getting it.

Okay, now before we actually wrap up this article, I want to share with you guys a basically a concept that I see a lot of all that I say guru’s frown upon because they say it’s unnecessarily. It’s not needed, but when you are starting out you list, you have nothing. Okay, and one of the main issues that I see a lot of people have when starting out is that they are hit with a question: okay, send over your portfolio.
Why? Because I’m the same, you know I’ve just told you to do. The same thing is to ask for portfolio material when you are in contact with a freelancer or something that’s going to take over the Facebook Ads. So you know you will get hit with this question. As well, you people will ask you: okay, show your portfolio what previous experience have you got so when starting out, if you have the time, I would highly recommend to offer a free trial.
Okay, now I don’t mean to do freeway from this point onwards and hope that someday someone will say, listen, I will pay you for it. What I want you to do is, for example, in those Facebook groups, you can do on email as well. If you want or freelancer or fuel instructions, if you want as well but go to these Facebook groups and explain that you are a digital marketer, that you have the knowledge and you have the work ethic.
But basically you don’t have the experience. Okay. So what you lack in experience, you basically compromise with knowledge. Okay, so you know exactly what to do. You just haven’t, got the previous experience to back it up, okay and then offer for people, so a max of four people, the opportunity to work with you in exchange. So it also mentioned that the time is less than let’s say four weeks you can say YouTube.
It can be up to you. You know two weeks one month, anything like that. So, for a limited time, you are opening doors for for business owners within the niche to work with you for free, in exchange for a testimonial article ants that you can use the busy day business manager as portfolio material okay. So you will be doing one month’s work for free and you’ll get a article testimonial and you are allowed to use their business manager to show other potential clients.
Now, there’s two reasons why I want you to do this number one, because it’s the easiest way to get a client. Why? Because it’s free okay, so there’s no risk on their path. You can let you do this and get a client’s by the end of this evening, but the main thing that I want you to learn here as well is to have to actually go through the process of onboarding the clients of experience from what it’s like to.
Actually set off the four pillars you know to actually have all of this open room and so have the agency opening its experience, what it’s like to run the ads, etc. Okay, so, yes, you will need to do this yourself. You can’t outsource it because you will be out of pocket, but this will give you the experience that no not of these courses and gurus can basically give you, because you are now tuned in yourself and the the confidence that you’re build up from.
This is priceless. Okay, because every single time you speak to a business owner from that point onwards, and they hit you with a question. You can just say: well, listen the previous clients had this and this I come back to this or I tackle this by doing this and that and then, if they say okay, well, let’s see your portfolio, you can just send them the case. Let me say: listen! This worked on for client say you are client bait.
I can do the same for you. You know sign your name with a dotted line, okay, so that is why I recommend a free trial when starting out – and yes, you know the on, if you let’s say yeah, but people that opt-in for a free trial, they will never become a paying clients, but That is not what we’re trying to achieve here. We are list. We go into part ways in a month’s time and, yes, you know domains also be some of you guys that are doing such a good job for this client that the client list she says, listen, let’s continue with this.
I want to pay you for this, but we’re not going to go into this thinking that that is going to be the outcome. Okay, the outcome is experience, portfolio material, a testimonial. But this is why I recommend the free trial, ok, experienced portfolio material and the testimony or article that you can show to the next clients.
