DAY 20 | #VLUNE

I’ve been home for a little while – and I am just kidding well I’m on my computer right now, but I’m getting stuff ready for the electrician. He is coming over tomorrow morning at 6:30 and I am replacing that fan with this fan. But what I’m doing is I’m actually pulling out all the components and I’m I cleared this thing off there, so I’m going to put everything up here.

So it’s just so much easier for him. He doesn’t have to waste his time. You know opening up boxes and stuff so yeah. I am replacing the light also in the closet and also the same light in the master closet and then in the master. Bedroom. It’ll. Be a very similar fan as well. They didn’t have the same like I wanted the same fan in the master as here, but they didn’t have it like. They only had one I’m like wow, it’s weird and then like.

I think it was like a discontinued one or something but anyway whatevs so yeah and then um. Sorry, I’m looking at an email or the there’s a fan with like a long tube or whatever in the lofted area kind of I don’t know. I guess it’s more in the kitchen, if you will, I don’t know it’s in a weird spot, but anyways um that one I love that fan. But again it’s just like the plain white one and I wanted, like all the fans to kind of be cohesive, so that one’s getting changed as well, and then I’ve got a couple of things in the garage that I need them to change out.

So anyway. Tomorrow is an electric day and I will be working from home in the morning and then her running to the office after that, so yeah, that’s kind of what’s going on here, I’m like looking at things. I mean vlogging, multitasking, guys multitasking. So I am somebody from work friend work to me. He must be real friends now all right and then oh. I was going to look at this okay, so I have a meet-up this weekend, but I wasn’t sure it was Saturday or Sunday I’m like.

I don’t know it’s Sunday, that’s good, at least you think. Ah all right, I need to see where this is like. I like who you go to this like place that were supposed to be going, go to their Facebook page and there’s like a map, but there’s like not a map, it’s weird, oh goodness, all right. Let’s take a peek here. Okay, now I see where it is all right. Okay, it’s not. I mean everything is kind of far away from me, but so yeah it’s on Sunday cuz I was like.

Is it Saturday? I don’t know? Thank goodness I looked Oh anyways um, but yeah. So I’m just hanging out here: I need to unbox a bunch of this stuff, my fan and then I have hair I’ll grab. My other things. I need to unbox, it’s like an unboxing article, but it’s clearly not um. I have a remote for my garage so that it’s going to get done as well and then this light, that’s the Patriot lighting. I got everything at Menards, which is like a local hardware store in Minnesota.

I don’t know if they have them all over the place, but they do have menards.Com and yeah. This is the light. I got it’s a very fancy and this is the same light that is in the hallway downstairs, as well as the hallway upstairs. So anyway, it’s like a hallway light, and now I’m going to be a closet light. So let me show you what I’m replacing in here: it’s just basic lights, I don’t know, there’s a very yellow – and I really like this one.

It’s an LED one, so it doesn’t need any light bulbs or anything like that Wow. I just look really red um. So yeah, I don’t know, I just think that the light quality is going to be so much better and so much brighter, and that’s what I’m looking for so yeah these these little bad boys and then, where is so? I bought this thing on the Internet. Now let me take this down with me because I need this I bought.

Where is it um, so my uncle, unfortunately ruined my? What is it called? You know like the garage door, opener, that’s on the wall. He somehow magically ruin that. Oh I have there. It is I was like where is that day, so I’m going to put this oh and then here is the dismantled one that I just took out of the box. That’s going to go right there, that’s right, it’s going to go and that one’s going to have a light in it as well, and all of the fans that I got, because I guess we’re now in the modern age have remotes, so that’s exciting.

So anyway, the little you know like the little pad that’s on the door or not the door, but the wall in your garage. I don’t know he hit it and then it got ruined a piece broke off. So then, now I have a different one to be installed as well, so I figured they were doing that I wanted an another garage remote which probably took him like two seconds to put together. So this is all my electrical things, but I think I’m just going to do the one take vlog here, because I have a bunch of stuff to do.

I mean I just have to like unbox some things and whatever, and it’s already like 8:30 anyway. Doyle, dog is over there judging the world and my battery light just started flashing, so I’ve clearly been talking for a little too long, and I haven’t changed my battery in a couple of days, oopsies so yeah, but I will take you guys along tomorrow. Tomorrow’s vlog will actually be probably a little bit interesting because I am going to be home and I just might pick up the camera and like do like one-minute check-ins and just like show you.

I Don’t Want to school!

Digital Marketing Basics: Before and After Grid

After you’re done with this article, you’re going to be able to really honing your copy you’re going to be able to create offers that are going to convert and you’re going to be able to jump into the mind of your clients and your prospective clients. This is so helpful when you’re doing research and you’re trying to figure out what kind of blockers and what kind of content should I be putting out there for my brand or for my business.

So if you’re doing any kind of digital marketing, this is going to be extremely helpful. Hey everybody how’s it going. My name is Brandon Brashear. I make daily digital marketing articles here. So if you’re trying to grow your brand or your business with digital marketing, then this is a great blog for you. You should totally consider subscribing hit the thumbs up button. So let’s talk about the before and after good, some people call it the before and after good some people call it the heaven and hell grid right. It’s really depends on where you’re learning this from, but it’s actually a pretty common concept in marketing, but it’s extremely important, especially if you’re trying to grow a product or service or develop an offer when you’re doing marketing. You really want to get inside the head of the prospect.

The reason why you want to do this is because, when you’re doing marketing, people don’t buy things typically for the utility of the thing right. The old example is people don’t buy it grills because they want drills, they buy eight drills because they want holes, that’s actually not true. Either people don’t buy drills because they want holes. They want holes because they need to run a wire through it or a pipe through it or you know, there’s more to it than just here’s: a cool drill, he’ll, here’s the features, here’s the price right, we’re trying to figure out exactly what the clients and customers Are looking for so it’s important to consider first, what is there before state? What does it look like? How can you communicate with these people so that they’ll say yeah? That’s me: that’s how I feel, and typically, if you have a service or product, it’s going to do more than just the face value of that product or service, and if you want it to be more valuable than just like a commodity.

For example, it’s important to consider and really consider that you have to really relate to your clients and customers on an emotional level if you can get into their most primal fears. Their most primal worries their most primal motivations that they have you’re going to be a lot more successful. People typically do things because they want to gain something they do things, because it justifies their emotional decision with logic.

People do things because fear is a motivator and in general, if you can tap into these base motivations you’re going to be so much more effective. So let’s go through an example. So, typically, what I like to do is the the before grid. I like to know what they’re thinking, what they’re feeling, what they’re wondering: what are their worries? What are their needs, what are their wants and really talk about? What is it and what is the state that these people are in? So let me give you an example: let’s say you’re doing a your realtor in you’re selling, a house.

If you have somebody who’s selling their house, you could think well. All they want to do is sell their house. They are need to sell their house right. There. Could be a million reasons why these people need to sell their house and one thing that you should totally do before this is fill out your client, avatar and customer avatar, so that you know who you’re creating this before and after good. For that is step number one.

This is step number two, so that article up there in the left hand corner on the card. You can click that and there’s a client, avatar worksheet in the description of that article as well. But let’s talk about this, though their before and after good, so you have your very specific customer, avatar right and so even within selling houses. You have different kinds of house seller. If you have equity sellers, you have people that are selling because they’re retiring, you have people that are selling, because they need more room.

You have people that are selling, because they can’t make the payments. You have people that are selling because they’re upside down on their mortgages, they’re doing a short sale right. All of those people have different before-and-after grids and likely your clients and customers aren’t also in different areas depending on what’s important of them to them right. So, let’s target somebody who is an equity seller, for example, they’re retiring and they’re, downsizing right.

What is their before and after good look like so before they’re worried about getting the most money for their house. They probably have time they’ve been sitting on the house for a long time. They’ve paid it off. Now they have equity, they feel like they’re, proud of their accomplishments. They feel like they deserve to get the most for the money they feel like. Their house is extremely valuable, extremely special.

They have a serious emotional bonds to it right and so, when you’re designing content around that, if you talk to them about how special their house is how they build memories, they’re right, the house has so much more value to that person. Then it does somebody who just is doing like a corporate rental right or you know somebody who’s like, oh and I bought this house a year ago and I’m flipping it right, very different positions, and so, when you’re, creating marketing and you’re explaining to them.

You know, especially if you like, let’s see, had a reverse mortgage business, where you’re trying to get people that have equity to do reverse mortgages right. If you talk to them about how they have built the legacy in this house – and you know they’re their state that they’re in they feel connected to it, they don’t want to move out of it. They want to maintain their lifestyle right. You you’re talking about the emotions that they’re feeling and really you’re connecting with them on a very emotional level.

They feel like you’re, going to know them you’re going to get to know them, so the ad is going to be a lot more effective, and so then you have the after grit. So let’s say that you, you understand and you’re empathizing with where they’re at at their current stage and then in the after grid. It’s where they’re going to be when they’re ending up with you they’ll be so relieved that you know this. Wasn’t that hard to do! They’ll be so relieved that they got the most for it.

They’ll be so relieved that they found somebody who is going to build a family in this house. Just like you did in the house is going to be used for good right. All of those different things. You’re so much more deeper than hey. I sell houses, a 2 % Commission, yes or no and you’re so much more effective. When you can be the bridge between that before state and that after state, a good general copywriting rule is the feel felt found right.

You can tell a story about a client who has gone through a similar situation through his story and especially if you can use article testimonials and things you can talk about what they were feeling. So what did you feel when you first got started? Well, you know I’ve lived here for 30 years and I really felt like I didn’t want to give up all the memories and things, but it was getting expensive and I knew that you know my kids.

I didn’t want them to have to support me and right. So you’re going through that feeling, so what did they feel and then how they felt when the thing was happening? But you know I found someone so realty service and immediately they got that understood that you know this isn’t just a house. This is my legacy, and so what we found was, and then the solution and then the after. How did they feel afterwards and being that bridge and that gap really helps you to get no more emotion, convey more emotion and get people to to get to the end result.

Really, that’s what people are looking for, they’re, not looking for you know. Sometimes people are there. There are different demographics right where people are just looking for the cheapest commodity and if you’re, a commodity provider you’re, probably able to find those people just because you’re competing only on price. But if you’re, like other businesses, that don’t want to just be a price competitor, that you want, offer a premium service you’re going to have to bridge that gap, you’re enough to find the hot-button issues that are going to make.

You different make you better and really help you to not be just another commodity. That’s only going to be based around pricing right, there’s service. There’s caring, there’s commitment, there’s the ongoing um. You know everything it’s it really all comes down to this, and if you can nail this as far as what is the before state, is this something that you’re feeling is this something that you’re doing and then what’s the after state? If you can convey that in article in text in an image your ads are going to be so much more effective, I would love to know that what do you think what are some of your favorite copywriting formulas for this? What’s kind of the biggest thing that you are basing that you want to share on stage that maybe even have an opportunity to do some like piece of advice of things that you’ve learned, yeah he’s really important in the industry. I think, what’s really important is to in terms of influencer. Marketing is just understand that it’s just a piece of the marketing ecosystem.

So it’s you shouldn’t necessarily go all-in on influence or marketing or or think it’s just going to be a one-trick pony that saves your business or whatever. It is just understand it’s a subset of social media marketing. It’s just another tactic, really that you can use in your overall marketing strategy. Tell you know achieve your business results so approaching it in that matter is really important.

I think to understand that it’s it’s not the saving, grace or you know the the biggest thing you should be doing in marketing it’s using it as a piece to the larger puzzle and all of your digital marketing and putting them all together and having all these Different campaigns and and strategies working cohesively together, yeah, and so it’s essentially like a one brick like if you were to build a home of marketing like it’s one of the bricks to that home, right yeah.

Exactly and that’s one thing that a lot of people are talking about is like taking certain marketing efforts out of the silos right and so not having them just work independently. So if you’re doing influencer marketing that’s great, but how is it integrating and working or leveraging and writing momentum of other marketing campaigns to and having all online offline marketing? What all the different kind of campaigns and strategies and tactics are using all kind of work together.

Rather than just have your influencer marketing team, your social marketing team, your you know, programmatic team and all these different teams like how can we actually bring these all together, so they can kind of write each other’s coattails yeah then so, do you work only you work With the business you don’t work, the influences right. You work with the the brains personally yeah yeah. I work directly with the brands, and then we have talent, managers and campaign managers who are more.

You know in contact with the influencers themselves. Yeah, I don’t. I don’t deal with infinitesimal, yeah and in terms like working with a branch. What’s the biggest thing that you’ve learned to kind of, I guess, make the brand’s happy yeah. So I think one of the things I say on stage is about defining success and your intent like. Why are you doing influencer marketing and then also defining success like how? How are we going to know if this is successful or not successful? So, really, what to me, what that encompasses is just expectations.

Setting that’s something we have problems with. A lot, unfortunately, is having very clear expectations with one another like what the brand wants. We know those expectations and what and what they need and then the brand’s expectations of what we’re going to do and deliver and what we can and can’t do. That is a very contentious point. So I think that’s a really really important thing to have that super.

Clear communication with with the brand yeah yeah cool, and what about in terms like stacking girl, think what value has stacking growth provided? You yeah, I think the great thing about stacking growth is everyone here is super open-minded in terms of finding new, innovative ways to market or to grow a business, so that kind of environment and culture is really great. If you’re trying to grow a business and become more successful or whatever your intent is on that area, literally growth right having that kind of environment is super important that you may not get at some other kinds of conferences where it’s just super corporate feel and everyone’s Just saying all the lingo, and just all the all the you know what I mean just that’s how it is right.

This culture here is very different, so it’s it’s cool to be around people who just want to learn from each other and aren’t afraid to give each other, maybe some trade secrets of how they do stuff because we’re here to support each other to so that’s what I really like what about? Is there anything that you want to share that? You think it’s important for people to know maybe like a life lesson piece of advice, that’s like definitely building relationships, okay in business and in your life is really important.

Rather than being, your focus is on getting something out of people. I think if you approach a lot of things in life to help whether it’s the brand or your friend or family, or anyone to help them and expecting nothing in return, it can build some like really good karma. If you believe in karma or what goes around comes around kind of thing right, and I think that is what ultimately will make you successful if you’re the definition of success is just being happy right, because just helping people is amazing and it just so happens to Make you more successful or financially better or whatever it is, then that’s great too, and I think it you know having those kinds of relationships is something we need a lot more of.

As you know, an exchange of value, but not expecting anyone to to give you something back right, just do something, because it’s a nice and a great thing to do. You know what it means: yeah, no cool, then how did you get into this? Were you always in marketing and does that feel variety too? I really wasn’t so believe it or not used to be in the Air Force, and then I worked at the NSA. So I’m actually coming from like a military intelligence background, and I just serendipitously got into em social media marketing, because I was building some fan pages on industry on my facebook for fun and it’s a really long story.

But eventually that got me a job at a brand and mobile gaming company and then that changed my life, so it just. I was just doing something that was fun for me as like growing community on Instagram and Facebook totally fun. I had no intent of being in business or making money from it, but since I was doing that well with like no training or anything it you know like I said, serendipitously became my career, so yeah, it’s very.

It’s very interesting story. Actually, it’s crazy to think about yeah. Well, so you built so do you have any tips or advice for people wanting to grow communities because stacking about this is obviously one community or people who come here also trying to grow their own communities? How can they go about replicating what you did with those? I think again, it’s about relationships too right like if you want to have at least an engaged community.

You want to be, as in you actually engaged with your your followers, your fans as possible and way to do. That is to be very relatable and approachable right. So it depends on what kind of community you’re growing right like there’s, fan, pages and mean pages and there’s also influencers and personality pages, and then there’s you know, brands or conferences and things like that, but either way. That’s that’s what we need in a society in a world.

That’s so connected we’re incredibly disconnected right nowadays, because it’s just so just you know so saturated with content and stuff like that right. So those relationships – man, yeah yeah woman – is like. How can I help you and what are your goals with stacking girls? Are you just running me as many people here, and there goes many relationships? Yeah really. I think the the main thing is to build relationships with people who are and are not in my vertical just because, like I said, I think people have a really good attitude of like finding ways for growth there.

You know worky interesting, creative, different ways to grow. Our businesses and careers, and things like that, so that’s why I really like connecting with people who are like-minded like that who are just gritty and trying to find any in every way they can to to do better. You know so I mean my goal is as mostly relationships that I do, I think, to connect with those kinds of people, and I guess yeah.

This is my first one. I’ve been to, and also it’s it’s my second, it’s pretty cool yeah, everyone’s, so friendly. It’s so easy to meet, people just have, and the cool thing is so many people here, I think, know each other from online or seen each other kinda cool like it’s, not it’s less awkward. Sometimes I found here’s like some people, like I seen you all the time never met you, but I’ve seen the articles on linkedin all the time or whatever it is.

So it’s like you know, almost feel, like you know some of the people here. You know it feels like it a little less like standoffish or corporate or you don’t. You know I mean you feel, like you already kind of know these people guys on how even if you’ve never met on my. So I think that’s like a cool thing to first act with. Hopefully they can keep that element alive as much as you can, especially as it grows.

You know it’s harder to do that as things grow, but do you want people to find you? If so, where can they find? But the level of training hasn’t who are part of hustlers kungfu, and I almost didn’t do this and it’s like like I’m getting pushed back about. I don’t want to sign up for the email client.

I don’t want to know, go ahead and go to the main aim and say so I don’t want spend money on that stuff. Trying to take the paid blogger without the ax proper internet ex assets is like going to the gun range, rightly gun and bullets. It’s like shaky driver’s head with no car. It’s like learning how to drive a sin. My tractor trailer with no truck it’s like learning how to build a house without a hammer and tools.

These are tools you got ta have now that’s the fam in your face. What we’re doing hit now, let’s talk about what the hey bloggers going to teach you. The real thrust of the course is content creation. Electric kung fu is the content creation school. Now I use the word to pave bloggers, because if I was to title the course the paid content creator people would be like. Oh we’re do talking about glyndon content creator, but everyone knows where the blogger is right.

Everyone knows the clock or create blog get going. Those that bloggers have ads on their blogs and everyone knows that bloggers often sell products. Now it makes sense, but you’re going to be is a content creator. It’s going to be a lot more to the paid locker first thing: we’re going to do is write the book hello, because you have many people who grade blogs then later on, go on to write the book, but it’s challenging, or I should say they go on – And turn the blog into a book, and it’s very challenging to do that because we’re writing the blog you’re, not writing in book format, which means chapter 1.

Chapter 2, chapter 3 got ta, make some sense. There has to be a sequence of proper sequence, because if there’s not a proper sequencing, you know people get lost and it’s just like what the hell and that’s what happens with bloggers who create books and put them on Amazon. So we’re going to create a blog which will ultimately be a book, so you’re not doing one thing you’re doing to now. Since we’re going to create this book, you have to have an email list, which means that’s why you need the email client before you even get started, because I’m going to teach you how to do this stuff, like no one taught me, you always hear hey.

We need an email list, hey neat, that you need that right, but no one says why why you need an email list? Why you need good game plan is, if you do this right, your blog will make you some money on the front end the middle and the back end, not necessarily a lot of money, but once you make your first dollar online, it gets easier to make your First hundred dollars, I think it’s easier to make you first house.

It is easier to make it first 10,000. It is easier to make your first hundred thousand, but you cannot make your first hundred thousand loud making your first stop. Many people want to make that hundred G’s and never made up dollar online, and I’m talking about from your own creation from your own stuff from your own genesis from your own essence. Uh, don’t see that! Don’t see that at all now that’s the reason you have to and I’m getting people’s like hey.

I don’t really essentially the sentence. I don’t feel that I have to get that stuff and I sleep. No. You know but you’re not getting in the course. Unless you do get that stuff and if I miss that and you get in the course and you get signed up you’re not going to the next level because see this is where it’s going to get really interesting. Everyone that comes to the course i’m going to create a directory of all course, members blogs since the community.

So let’s say you have a blog about journals. There’s someone in the course who makes handcrafted journals well what if you’ve got someone who is doing? Maybe arts and crafts for kids those two bloggers can network together and share a list because they’re not dissimilar, so essentially we’re building community building a power structure where people can work together, help each other out. But if you just have a blog, you do not go through this process.

You will not be part of the community. You’ll just be one of those folks in the Facebook groups who are just lurking. Lurk lurk lurk I’m working aka, I’m a scared, little bitch. I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid that the world will not like me, I’m afraid of looking foolish, I’m afraid of all this stuff happening. So I do nothing, that’s what it really is. It’s not me and let’s talk about cost your email clients going to be 29 bucks a month and you’re hosting unless you’re paying here is going to love for the year’s going to be anywhere from three bucks a month.

I know crazy money up to about. Maybe 11 maybe 14, depending on what you’re getting. I know it’s over-the-top expensive, I’m trying to get you and yes I’ll, even be even more upfront. I am the affiliate of the products that I use and recommend yep. So if you go ahead and sign for that stuff, I’m going to get a little change. Yep, yep, yep yep, all that now, if that offends, you are you’re. Looking like wow London, that’s like that’s too much! Then you one of the people who’s never ever going to make large money online you’re going to make some money because I’ve noticed something increase for years.

There’s a group people who put in there like I want to go to someone’s blog check, I’m going to go to someone’s youtube blog check. I want them to help me solve my problem check and how damn, dare you even think about making some money out of this process? How dare you think that you can possibly charge me yeah information that I gave you made me 10,000 this month, but fuck you now look that is called as being selfish, see you didn’t think I was going to that’s what it’s called being selfish, so typically selfish People do not have the best life and just doubt so, you’re sitting there propagated on well, I don’t want them to charge me because you’re selfish you’re scared and you feel that you can’t do it.

That’s what all that talks about, because all right have no problem. Dropping money on the book a course or training or mentoring, or someone who’s going to help you, and since i’ve been doing this long enough, I have very realistic expectation. I took a course recently for 1400 bucks and I knew half of the course already that’s going to happen if you’re an Internet person just going to know a lot of stuff already, but the fifty percent I didn’t knew.

It was three things out the course that will birth to 1400, not 10, not 23 great things, but many of you have crazy expectations that you’re going to spend 100 bucks 200 bucks is going to be a life-changing event with minimum effort knows, I said, minimum of Effort because I got girl, nightingales see these one hundred and five bucks and it was life-changing, but all right, listen to those cds, but really it’s audio cassettes in person, no less than 200 times, which requires effort.

So hopefully this clears up a lot of this stuff. Then, what’s going on out, there put your mind where you need to be, and then we can rock and roll. How to become an influencer in 5 minutes

My following tactics for success in work and in life will certainly help you. First, build passion not try to find it. If you stay in something long enough, it will become your passion. Take football, for example.

It is no like they were born with passion for football. I mean some born of talent, the fact that they start from any age and playing football almost every day it became the primary passion. So will your passion number two be expect on something take an interest on something stick with it for a while be persistent, and ultimately you will gain mastery in that area. You can generate true expertise by doing something that you love or you can turn your lived experience and expertise.

Number three find something to enjoy failing. You need to find something you love doing put yourself in a position where you can enjoy even the hardest time at work, so make sure you are building your left and work around something you will still enjoy on the hardest and bleakest days. Number four find a way to keep learning. Remember successful people adopt a growth mindset, not a fixed mindset, believing one can change and grow and expand number five bill self-awareness.

You need to develop a self-awareness that you can become all the time, regardless of how everything is. Failing on you number six find the positive in any hardship. There is always be a positive learning. You should realize that it is your mental attitude that interpret the input around you. When I find myself thinking everything’s in negative, I will ask myself these three question. Why I am feeling this way is my feeling justified? Is there any imminent danger here that I should be aware of and most of the time the answer is no and the feeling is unjustified and I try to move for seven build a positive culture.

If you want people to come to you, you need to be a light source emanating positivity. If you care about people, people who see you as a leader, people need to feel taken care of to feel that they have purpose and fulfilled significant. My mission hasn’t always be about helping people to see the power within themselves, and if I can do that, you can do to number eight build your track record if you want to become known as an influencer in a larger sense, spend the time and energy creating Successes in your smaller area, first – for me, it was turning my negative experience into expertise in a consistent way.

It is about understanding the negative experience, understanding the challenges that come out of that experience and how to turn this experience into solution. That was key for me, benign focus on who you are and why you are doing this. Another important part of my initial success was just being myself being real, not trying to be some arrogant. Do I’m just called Basia, also a guy who enjoyed helping other, just like you also trying to have other people that why I guess you are reading this article.

I stay true to myself and maintain amazing or tensity, and transparency of everyone are running for decade. How? Because my focus has always had people build a network, we are living in an incredible time of no gatekeepers. If you are willing to put in effort in the pit and Valley and faster your own community, nothing can stop you. The world of excuses is dead and gone. However, big you want to make your platform you can to become an influencer.

Is your hand is in your strength. It is only you can’t stop yourself to become an influencer. Nobody has no challenges. Masonic Curators – 045 – A Masonic Knife Collection

Today, on the show, I’ve actually got something I’ll show you. That is a bit of a collection. I know I collect a lot of things and Mason’s collect a lot of things.

I collect knives, and so I’ve got several knives from you know all over the world and different kinds, and some of them just happened to be Masonic, and so we’re going to go to a car way. Right now – and I will show you just a bit of the Masonic collection of knives that I have, some of which are also used – they are straight razors used for shaving. Those have also been explained a little bit in a Midnight Freemason post a few years ago, and I’m sure that you have readed a previous article right here on Masonic curator’s, which talks about some interesting Masonic, razors, so kind of in line with that check.

This out. All right y’all will go ahead and not worry about the mess I’ve got going on up here. This is my knife collection. What part of it anyway so I’ll just kind of open it up here. Now, it’s not a ton. It’s just some nice things that I’ve collected over times with Swiss Army knives and things, but right away. You might see a couple things in here that might speak to you. The first is this guy.

You know nothing, nothing real special! You know the United States doesn’t really make steel anymore. So almost any knife you buy today is going to be Chinese steel and American design, Chinese steel and it’s produced over there and shipped back here. So nothing real special about this, but made Mason. That says in search of more light and the other side doesn’t have anything but made in China. So just you know nothing real special, the other one that I’ve got, which is kind of cool.

The first Masonic straight-razor I ever bought after I became a Mason. I bought this one I had shaved for years with, with straight razors. That’s what my dad actually taught me how to shave with this was the first one I bought after my dad’s. I had to have my dad’s redone. So normally they look like this. You know they’re hollow ground, so they’re real thin to see how they have this scoop. That’s called being hollow ground and if you ever see it, it just looks like a big triangular thing, like that’s called a butcher wedge or a wedge or butcher blade.

They’re kind of interesting right, but you know it’s fairly nice. It’s a good shave now as much as I’ve wanted to. I have never ever used the Masonic ones to shave fairly, certain Terauchi p –. You know this kind of fake pearlescent and, of course it comes out, and you can maybe read that, let’s see I can focus, and it just says, George Washington, the first Mason president. I mean I mean that’s kind of true right: the Continental Congress, the first president of the Continental Congress, was also a Mason, so this is also just another hollow ground.

This one those Steel’s made in Pakistan, so a little bit a little nicer. I guess I promise. I won’t cut myself while making the article. This is the other one that I I bought, and I think this one I just got from one of these odd companies yeah. So this is a butcher blade. This is a butcher blade this one. You can see how much different that looks and look at that. So this is a butcher blade. It is sharp.

You should never do that. There’s microscopic teeth and now I’ll have to use a strop to straighten that out, but nonetheless, pretty cool still has oil on it. I’ve never really used it, but I just thought it was kind of cool. I saw it in one of those like knife, catalogs and the imagery is kind of cool in there. So yeah that’s about it. This one was made in Pakistan. It’s the only butcher blade I’ve ever owned.

I think they’re generally they’re hard to find if you guys ever find yourself a razor and you find a butcher blade, that’s in good shape. You should maybe buy it if it’s reasonable. Almost everything that you find that’s antique. This one here looks like it’s got. Maybe some odd fellow markings on it FLT not really sure what that’s for, but so look it’s a big ol chunk taken out of that bad boy and most of them look like that.

So not something you’re going to want to Hugh’s collect sure, but don’t use it. I got this one for my father-in-law, who actually gave me my first real Masonic ring. But last but not least, I guess I’ll show you this one, which I’m pretty proud of. It’s the only one it actually was given to me. I didn’t buy it, it’s really nice and it was actually given to a lot of different guys who were in attendance of the Grand Master’s dinner a few years ago, but nothing special, just probably made by case or another company like it.

Small Business Basics

So I just recently started a small business and there’s some tools that I used to do that. The very first thing is, you need a website, so I use Squarespace make a quick, beautiful website in seconds. You need a business line. I use Google Voice, you get a free business line.

You get text message phone calls all on your same phone, credit card processing, sending invoices getting money. I use square set up an account start accepting money right away. I need to put that money somewhere. So I put it in a business bank account. I can use seed, create a business bank account all online and it’s all mobile base LegalZoom. If you need to create an LLC or any kind of business entity.

Legalzoom is great for quickly creating the LLC. It is rather expensive and there probably are cheaper and easier ways to do it. If speed is important and LegalZoom was the way to go, and then local business licensing is on your city or location, get a business license to make sure that you legal and that is it 60 seconds of how to start a business. These are all resources and tools that I’ve used to create my business, and hopefully this will help.

You start yours now, because long people say like hey, I have roadblocks, I don’t know what to do. These are super simple ways. I hope you use them. That is it 60 seconds.

Creating a business is not easy. Be sure that you thoroughly research what you will need before to know before you invest in your dream. An online presence is critical, and you should find a professional to take care of it. Website design packages are something you should look into right away.
