Off Page Optemization | Backlinks Analysis SEO tutorials

What we want to do in this section is actually get specific and look at specific strategies to attract backings website. I’r really the best way and the best place to start that whole process is look at what’s already working and look at your competitors that are ranking on the first page of Google, understand their link portfolio and then really replicate that at a minimum.

That’s going to put you on equal footing with them and then, if you implement some specific SEO campaigns, it’s going to put you right above them. So this is a really foundational exercise that you’re going to go through. I think it’s going to really help. You understand how they’re getting these backlinks and then that’s going to give you a ton of ideas in terms of how you can replicate them uneven, build on them great.

So the first step in this process is, we need to get the top 10 search results for your particular keywords. So this really goes back to our keyword, research, part of the course, and you will have selected the keyword that you want to target based on the criteria. We just goes there. So, let’s just imagine that it was drones was the key word that I’d picked and what we can see here is the Moz bar that gives us information on the on-page optimization, which we looked at before p domain authority and page authority.

Now what we really want to look at is using the same tool, look at the backlinks profile, so you can see for this side ranking number one. It’s got 4560 links number two. We’ve got 263 links a 27 X, 52 55, and so you can see that there’s a huge amount of links here for the top 10 results. That’s great, because it gives us a huge amount of op tune in in terms of and replicating those links. So now that we’ve got the top ten results, what we want to really do now is get all the backlinks so on the Mars bar.

What we can just do is click on this link button here and it’s going to open up a tool called open site Explorer, which again is a tool made by moss, and this is really fantastic, because it gives you an almost complete overview of all the sites That are linking to that web page. So, as you can see, there is a total of and 4560 links coming from 1374 different domains. So, as you can see, there’s a pretty long list of links here and you can even go a grenadier night and see the huge amount of links.

So, let’s just have a look at the first one on the list here and if you can remember, what’s also important to determine, is and the page Authority and the domain authority of the page. That’s linking back to the site because its authority sites that I’ve hired page in domain authority that are really going to give a lot of power to the link. So this is a fantastic link. Right here comes from Time magazine, hugely authoritative site and, let’s just have addy look at the actual link here to get a sense of what it is.

So, as we can see, it said within the content itself, which is fantastic reference as a sort of citation as we’ve seen before, and it is a follow link because we’re using our little and nofollow tool and it’s as normal. So this is really fantastic and I think this gives you a sense of maybe what’s possible in terms of your link. Building campaigns great so another back link checking to we can use is called H, reps and essentially this could give us an inside to other links, because each of these tools individually scan the internet to try and find the links to the side.

So it’s going to check a couple of different ones. Just get a sense of all the links, plus all of these tools give slightly different perspectives in terms of additional information they offer. Some charts here on HH reps are very good, so it’s good to have a look at the mall and get a couple of different perspectives. Let’s just click into links, then, for this side, and so you can see that there is a list of links here as well.

They don’t give you as many unless you you sign up, but it can be good, especially in terms of some of the more visuals, and this can be a very good tool grade. So the third and final backlink checker tool that I want us to have a look at is called majestic SEO. So again you can use this, for free and – and all you need to do is again paste in the URL and we’re going to get a big list of backings as well against some other information, quite a good presentation about anchor text.

If you remember it’s important that there’s a good distribution in terms of the anchor text that points back to your site in order for it to look natural, we can click on backlinks here. Well, they’re asking you for a register for a free account, but I want to now, but they do have quite a good list of backlinks as well, plus some other additional information that so that was really step to finding all the backlinks.

Now, step 3 is really creating a list of all those backings. Quite so now that you’ve got the backings. What you really want to do is start analyzing them and really well. Firstly, actually what you want to do is maybe copy all the links into in excel. As many as you can, then you want to start analyzing them and really the best way to do that is through the links, and you can use scene of the mods power to go to determine the authority if their follow no follow links etc.

Using the nofollow Chrome extension and generally getting a sense of how difficult would it be to replicate something like that. So something like the Martha Stewart, King, fantastic idea, but obviously that takes a lot more planning and strategy, whereas other types inning for many guest blogs and slideshares. Things like that, they can be done quicker. So rest of the process, then really is to make a list analyze and then start replicating those things.

So I think this process is just fantastic for kicking off the whole brainstorming and even getting some easy lay links and then really planning your six months edge. In terms of your SEO campaigns, you

Social Media Trends to Watch Out for in 2020 – Time To Get Social

Your business you’ve probably sat down your building your marketing strategy of all these new ideas. I want to make sure that you understand the top trends of 2020 that you need to look out for as a business in terms of social media. Marketing and a lot of these are things that we’re looking at for our clients that we’re going to be rolling out.

I want to make sure that you understand them and that you are using them, because these things are going to be huge in 2020. Okay, the first one of these is tick. Tock tick. Tock is super powerful. It’s going to keep growing 20 20 hundreds of millions of users. The organic exposure is unreal. It is Instagram five years ago and we all know how that turned out for people who hopped on five six seven years ago, now’s your chance to do that with tick tock.

It’s a younger demographic, but a that’s great. If your business already targets younger demographics, you’re spot on but B, if your business doesn’t that’s okay, because there’s also an aging demographic coming onto the platform, but the younger demographic is sharing this content with their friends, their family they’re, sharing it on their Instagram and their Facebook as tik-tok allows that, and so it doesn’t matter what you’re targeting forget the age of Emma graphic.

If you can get content content on tick tock in 2020, do it it’s going to be worth it you’ll. Thank me later. Okay, number, two long format. Article continues to hold strong long format, article being 8, 9, 10 minutes plus right YouTube, LinkedIn Facebook, so many more platforms now are allowing this even Instagram as Instagram TV right. They are now allowing series you can upload series of articles.

Like basically TV shows, people are just content, consumption monsters and your business can take advantage of that, create more long format, deep-dive stuff, that’s actually meaningful and valuable. 2020 and you’ll see a huge result from it. Okay, the third one is paid advertising. As you know, Facebook and Instagram have been cutting the organic reach of the business accounts, especially to a ridiculous extent.

It’s almost impossible to reach anyone anymore you’re, not going to grow your business if you’re not paying for advertising period. The platforms are insanely powerful, but you have to pay to get the most out of them. We’re talking Facebook Ads, Instagram, ads story, ads messenger ads. You can even run tik-tok ads by the way through Facebook, which is pretty cool. Okay. The fourth thing is multi-platform strategies right in 2020: it’s all about being every where that doesn’t mean you need to create unique content for every single blog, because who has the time for that? But it means you need a smart strategy where you can produce content once that works for every platform.

That’s what we do here. I basically film like four articles a month and that gives us all of our content for YouTube. Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, emails, everything right! Everything so come up with a great strategy. We figured out. You guys got ta figure it out I’ll. Do a article on my strategy at some point this year and show you what we do here. Number five text. Marketing text marketing is again becoming massive right.

Very powerful, as email, open rates, kind of decline and emails are becoming less responsive text is where it’s at people are still checking these. This is the TV of 2020. This is where everybody’s attention is so, in addition to being on social media. You also want to be in people’s texts right. You want to start building a text database instead of just collecting your customers, emails collect their numbers, so you can text them.

You can market to them where they actually respond, who doesn’t check their phone when it goes ding, and you go oh, what’s that everyone still checks that right now take advantage of it. Okay text marketing there’s a ton of great platforms to look into from the complicated ones like Twilio, which lets you custom code, all kinds of cool things too easy texting, simple texting. I’ve used a bunch of them slick text.

I’ve definitely tested a few. I think we’re using easy text right now or easy texting whatever it’s called, but basically you integrate that into your marketing. Someone opts in through your funnel make sure you get their number put it in this marketing system, so that you can build a database of numbers that you can market to okay, very important in 2020, that you do that partially also because we want to start moving Towards gaining attention on social media, but then as quickly as possible, pulling that off the platform and owning it, because we don’t know what the future holds for a lot of these blogs.

What they’re going to! Let you do what they’re not going to? Let you do you want to use them to get attention for your brand, get names, emails, numbers and then own that so that no matter what happens you still own your own audience, okay, and that’s why it’s very very important texting is going to be crucial in 2020, the last strategy is the last big trend is alternative. Advertising platforms are growing in popularity, so things like ways like Spotify.

Those are huge ways is great because it’s great for local marketing. If you’re in a tucked away spot people drive by they, don’t see you you’re a restaurant you’re, a golf club you’re, something that people actually become into a retailer Waze make sure that as people drive by you pop up on the map, every single time, that’s crucial Right now that everyone is using Waze on their phone as they drive, you want to make sure you’re coming up and that you’re visible and it’s still relatively cheap and easy to use.

So I recommend it as well as other platforms like Spotify. Definitely look into that. These are all platforms they’re now allowing advertising that can bring some diversity to your digital marketing strategy and it doesn’t hurt to test they’re working well. We have seen and worked with clients using it, but definitely recommend trying it out. For yourself, I’m not saying it’s going to work, it’s just a trend, that’s happening! More people are jumping on board, so that’s my big six things coming up for 2020 will definitely be diving deeper into these, as I come out with more articles every single week, but that’s all you need to know for now.

If you’ve any questions drop. A comment below – let me know you think about this. Do you agree? Are these the trends or we on the right track, and how is your business going to be implementing these in 2020? I want to hear about it. So don’t forget to leave us a like. How to Start Writing Tech Articles

So if you’ve ever read articles on CNET or wired, just those tech, article websites, you might have thought they were pretty interesting and you would like to have a job there. So how do you get started in such a career? Well, one of my favorite youtubers elide. The computer guy has begun this website.

It is called geek brain dump, a place for geeks to tell their side of the story, so it is on just it’s like an article website, but everyone can post. So if we go take a look here, you can see windows 8.1, keep the speed with the windows, 7 look and then looking at the titles. It’s just a wide variety of tech and computer articles all written by different people going back up here. You can see the most popular posts.

It’s 18 comments. 8 comments. The latest posts March 11th was the latest and various tags that people tagged on their posts with. Also when you sign up with this, you get an author profile. Well, you don’t really sign up, but I’ll get to that in a moment, and so you can go to any one of these and see all of the posts they have written down. Here we have categories of posts, so you can see cloud computing, media marketing.

Anything you would want to read and scrolling down. We can see, there’s just a bunch of people posting and writing their own articles. So how do you get started? Let’s go over to the about page, I’m not going to read this all, but so basically to sum it up, you just submit your posts to the email post at geek brain dump, it’s all to come without any attachments or anything just in the email and I’ll Make kind of goes through what you have to include.

I particularly like this that we have no interest in being grammar nazis. So as long as it’s readable, it’s good. There are also some other restrictions, but they’re pretty easy and almost all articles get submitted as long as they follow these guidelines, I’m spamming, being paid now. This is something you might be interested about right now. There are no plans to pay writers, it’s more just getting experience and having something to put on your resume when you go apply for a real job, writing articles on any website order for a magazine.

According to this, the plan is to have paid content creators at some point, so probably in the future, it might be ad supported and the content creators would get paid by like their page views or something like that. Please note we are in alphabetic beta testing of this site, so you can see it’s an early version of the site. Probably you can tell that by the how it’s not finished, but it’s growing and if we head on over to the Alexa page for geek brain dump com, you can see it’s ranked 1.

7 million and three hundred thousand in the United States so um compared to many Other websites – this is pretty good – has a 45 percent bounce rate, 1.8 pageviews per visitor and 242 minutes 46 seconds daily time on site, which is pretty average for our website. Most of the well. A good portion are from the United States, but I guess they don’t have statistics right now, since it’s a relatively new site, so going back here, it’s very easy to get started.

So, to sum it up, all you have to do is email. Your article about technology or computers to this email include the information such as their name and any profile information, for example, going down here. It will give your name and profile, and now you don’t create an account Eli. The computer guy will do this for you and keep everything organized for you. So it’s pretty nice. All you have to do is email the articles, so this is an easy way to start your tech, article writing,

How to Embed Emotional Design into a Transactional Website from Sandra Gonzalez

I did some research and it’s interesting, because emotional design is one of those things that not that many people have been talking about. So I actually they do mention it briefly, but I thought it was very interesting that it’s been a while, since a book came out and so on and so forth. So I actually guided myself with a book that I’ll be talking about a lot today by Aaron, Walter and I’ll.

Give him all the credit, but i’ll point you two very important sections of it. So, let’s start okay, so um, that’s the book. I was just telling you about. The first thing I want to mention is that I always find myself talking about the Industrial Revolution and some of you so my speech back in Tokyo X in Manchester, but I find it so important to think about where we come from them. The journey we’ve taken us as human beings, exact especially in this new era of technology, so um the the work.

The last time I was on this stage for you x for good. I talked about the Industrial Revolution and the actual role that they play for children and what it is to be a child in this third era or fourth area of the Industrial Revolution people still debating. If the Internet of Things is the fourth error. But in order to introduce this concept of emotional design, I would like to refer to the first chapter and I’m going to refer to a lot to this book of our own Walter call emotional, I’m designing for emotions, so he talks about revolution.

Something lost something found there. We go alright with the ability of mud too much produce almost anything. A skilled craftsman like blacksmiths and Weaver’s could no longer complete compete with factories, low-cost and faster production. So back in the age of the Industrial Revolution, the founders of the axon crafts movement started to think about this and realize that a craftsman leaves a bit of themselves in the work and it is a true gift that can be enjoyed for many many years.

So if, if we were to think about this, what does it mean to be able to mass-produce everything? So nowadays we have sites such at sea and Kickstarter that are empowering artists and crafts. People to get give that gift again to be able to kind of complete with that compete with those must produce products that we buy on a day-to-day basis. So how many you, how many of you have bought products from etsy? Ok, cool! That’s about! Barely a five percent, so how many of you have ever back up a Kickstarter? Okay, I would say another more like a ten percent okay.

So how did it make you feel um? Can I guess that it make? You feel a little bit different than just going on Amazon, or maybe just I don’t know what would be the equivalent of Kickstarter amazon right. So so I just kind of want to bring that into mine. It all comes back to that. So can I guess that it make you feel good compared to just going to Amazon, not that I’m picking no mames on today’s, so what you did by by backing a Kickstarter or or going to etsy, was to support creative thinking and supporting families.

To contrast, supporting corporations so Aaron explains that etsy on Kickstarter phenomenon is an opportunity to be able to leave bring these stories to life, to have an object that actually has a story behind. So it is very interesting thing to start thinking about, and he also starts talking a little bit about what does it mean for us that we work in web design to be able to have so many things produce quickly as web designers? We face kind of a similar situation right, there’s plenty opportunities to create fast and chips websites.

I personally love WordPress, because literally in five minutes, I can have a website that 10 years ago would have taken a whole six months, waterfall approach. So that’s brilliant! I like the idea that we can do that so fast, but where is the craftsmanship in all of this right? So how can we leave as how can we leave a bit of ourselves with this approach, so where’s, the true gift that we want to kind of bring together so Aaron invite us to followed a different path where we present the human touch in what we design And to kind of show ourselves kind of showing ourselves is essential kind of bringing the human factor in so this takes me to the definition of emotional design as Aaron defines it, so is in psychology and craftsmanship a good example of the concept when you go online And you think about you know, buying something in etsy right and I’ve seen this don’t quite a bit the minute with the parcel arrives, because this has been handmade the day.

Actual seller have put a really really personalized note. They have actually thought about how you open the package and how you kind of the first layer is going to make you feel on the second layer, so on and so forth. So really think about the fact that our previous arts and crafts movement have paid the way to bring in that human touch and showing ourselves and it’s something that is absolutely essential for what we do every day.

So the following is what I like to use us pretty much. The definition of emotional design is using psychology, psychology and craftsmanship to create an experience for users that make them feel like there’s a person and not a machine at the other end of the connection. Okay, so this brings me to the next point: does anyone of you know? This is actually an interesting because my company did a lot of work on this did does any one of you know, which one is the fastest-growing language in the UK.

I’m happy to take s mandarine! Okay, French, I’m sorry, okay, erotic, French! Actually, I did find that one – French, Spanish, polish, okay, polish okay, so this is your answer: emojis, okay! So actually – and it could be stretching it a little bit, but they have done lots of research on this and and a study done by professor Evans from bangor university actually found out that it is one of the fastest language right now right.

And it’s very interesting because how many times have you debated, put in a smiley face in what you’re right? How many times have you actually done it and then stop and maybe not do it and then kind of hard literally 30 seconds should I is it professional enough? Should I be doing it you know like come on? Am I the only one I have? I have people helping me sometimes prove read my beautiful English and I have these conversations.

I had it before you know. You know this is professional, I’m like how do I bring the human aspect right? I do feel that smiley face changes. The tone in so many ways right so I do have this constant debate and – and it’s a very interesting phenomenon because to me that, as as writers as we are all the time, that’s how we bring emotion and it’s it’s a fastest, growing language. Why not? Alright! So the next thing I’m going to talk about is how, in the 50s and 60s and American psychologist Abraham alone, sorry my Maslow Maslow there you, our Abraham Maslow, discovered something that we all knew, but he actually put it into words.

And it’s pretty much talking about our needs, so no matter our age or gender or race. We all have basic needs, and what’s really interesting about this pyramid, is that it kind of shows you how important they are. The the bottom of the pyramid is absolutely necessary, and then everything that goes as it goes up is more of a li shirting. So one of the things that aren did in his book is he kind of mapped them into what it means for users right.

So now that we’re designing interfaces, how do you translate that pyramid so he argues that interface design is designed for humans, so the pyramid applies, but he just changed things a little bit and the top it just becomes the pleasurable part. Okay. So, let’s quickly study the bottom of the pyramid. Ok, so for users needs to be met, an interface must be functional. I feel like I’m stating the obvious right.

If the user can complete a task, they certainly won’t spend much time in your application. So after they they feel like that would be taken care of, then they can actually come back and feel confident that that’s something that they understand and they can actually work with. So the interface must be reliable. So if the web server drops out immediately or intermittently or the service is just unreliable, most likely users are never going to come back to your website.

The interface must be usable, and this is where our beautiful research aspect of UX comes into place right, so it could be very functional, very reliable and then user research comes along and proves us all wrong or all right. So I think that one of the things that’s been really interesting in our feel for you x is that we kind of stopped there right its usability testing brilliant. They know they discovered it.

They were able to. You know go through the journey and add something to that shopping, cart or delete it and yay, let’s just ship that, but what Aaron is telling us is that actually maybe it’s time to think about the next level, so he thinks he asks us about imagining. If usability was the standard for other industries such as automobile, so if an automobile is usable, that’s good enough. How can we tell between a BMW – and you know – maybe a a Kia or I don’t know – I’m not good with cars, but but it makes a really good point right if it’s usable, that’s the end of it.

No, it’s actually more than that. So many websites and applications are starting to create experiences beyond usability and it’s um it’s time to start thinking about bringing pleasure, fun, joy and delight and pretty much. This is what this whole talk is about. So are you all excited? This is something you want to learn: okay, very good and about the light. I I see that word quite a bit in portfolios and series a delightful experience, so um one of the things I’m going to do today is I’m going to illustrate kind of emotion through an exercise.

So I want you to think it was an interesting picture to find this is actually just Google search for the best food in the world, an image search. Okay, so I want you to think back to the best meal. You’ve ever had not a good meal, but a mind-blowing palate changing fall in love with food, again great meal. Okay, can you remember it all right? What made it so memorable? Was it the test? I answer: was it the taste or the texture of the food? Was it the unexpected pairing of flavors? Was it the artful presentation or they attentive waiter, to staff the ambience, the restaurant, the company? What was it chances are that it was not the nutritional value of it right, so that is pretty much the equivalent of functional, but it was so many other things right.

So once you think about it right, the meal met your body’s needs, but it also immerse. You in a pleasurable experience and your memory, your brain remembers it as such and it will stay there for a really long time until you top that with something else. Okay, so why don’t we aim for a similar target in web design? What is going to be that web experience that login experience that transactional experience that is going to top buying shoes online, all right so um, let’s see, certainly we all I’m sorry.

Certainly, we all want to eat edible food with nutrition value, but we also want an experience with it. So the next thing we’re going to talk about is three principles of emotional design. Okay – and I pick three because I wanted to kind of pick the best ones and make sure we at least got to see a few there’s more. But let’s talk about these three, so the first one is let your brand personality show and this one comes really close to my heart, because I’m an advisor for a few startups and I am really really interested in a very early stage of a startup.

It is even before they go into funding and talking to investors and it’s very interesting to see how startups sometimes don’t really think about their brand, and it’s so important, and the first principle is let your brand personality show. So when you present your brand, it has to be clear to the idea audience how it relates as if it was another human being right. It creates the empathy and it helps you the audience better see themselves as part of of the brand and and humans wants to connect with humans and at a industry level that other human is that brand.

So I find brand something that is very, very interesting to always have in mind and remember that that is going to be the personality that you’re bringing I am as good all right, good, okay, very good! So sorry it should have changed to that one. So emotional design turns casual users into fanatics ready to tell others about their positive experience again brand. My next one. Well, it’s not mine, but the next 1i.

It actually almost feels mine, because it’s about parenting and such how many of you are parents in the audience. I feel like an awful mother that loves her children behind now. Okay, good one person all right, so I guess I can talk a little bit more about this one, so the baby-faced bias has anyone of you heard of that before all right yeah. It’s a very interesting one, so we can learn a lot about design on how to communicate effectively with the audience by studying evolutionary psychology, so pretty much our human nature.

So evolution has given us baby, goggles and um. It is funny how Walter puts it, but Jeff Atwood. He actually blocks a lot about technology, mostly code and stuff, but right around the time I old, my youngest was one year old. He posted that blog post and it just resonated so much with me because what he talks about is about. Is it really worth it to have children? You know it’s such a pain, but he talked about the 51 % against the forty-nine percent and how the 51 is the most impossible.

Sulaiman of joy I ever felt, and the 49 is incredible pain, so um we as humans. Have these really strong attachment to two babies? We look at a baby face and we just melt – and some of you may just not want to show it, but you internally must feel something, and it’s to the point that actually scientists believe that the reason why we react to babies faces that way. Can someone guess is actually a little creepy now well yeah, guess who the predator would be us? They believe that one of the reasons babies have such cute faces, though we don’t kill them and in I know it sounds a little bit like it’s stretching it, but it’s true I mean again is this is about bringing in who we really are an evolutionary psychology Right – and I think I can tell that there aren’t that many parents in the room because there’s moments that you just go, of course not I’m going to kill you, but it’s like wow.

What did I get myself into? It is tough. Being a parent is one of the most amazing roller, coasters rights, you’ve ever experienced and what’s really interesting and I’m just going to do a little spoil alert. One of the talks that I have in the pipeline is to talk about parenting and how, as parents, whether we want it or like it or not, with user experience, designers, okay, think about your parents and the experience that they provided to you for the first 15 Years of your life right, so it is a very interesting thing to think about and how you can bring those feelings into your website.

So cats are a lot another ones that are very, very overly used and then any other babies or cops and so on and so forth. So that is the principle number 20 on. This is an example. So in this website, they’re using the baby face by his principle to kind of get people attached to the brand alright. So the next thing I want to talk about his personality and I was really really happy to find out that this chapter is actually available to anyone.

So if you’re not sure if this book is the right one for you go ahead and give it a try, read this chapter and um and just learn a little bit about a personality from from Aaron. So here we go. Personality is the platform for emotion, emotional design. Primary goal is to facilitate human to human communication, and I think that’s one of the reason mo cheeks are so famous because it facilitates communication.

It makes us laugh, it is very close to you know almost is actually sometimes better than just picking up the phone and talking to the other person, so so um if we’re doing our job. Well, the computer resents into the background and the personality rises to the surface. So, to achieve this goal, we must consider how to interact with one another in real life, so think about how we, actually, you know, say hello.

How we, actually you know, one of the one of my favorite analogies, are how we sell when we go into a department store and how we sell online, sometimes so, when you login to that website, and certainly you have that interrupt telling you bye now bye. Now I like to use that analogy of if you were to enter into dividends, if you want to go into with someone be on your face, asking you to buy something, no most likely the first, they hold a nice conversation right and they get that emotional connection From you and then they say: oh do you know we have blah blah.

So how do we bring that into our web design? So next slide this one really quick talks about how it was so important when we started kind of printing documents to bring back the handwriting kind of feeling into Bibles. And I find funds a very a typography in general, an interesting kind of way to demonstrate how we need that we need to that connection. So, if you think about every single tutorial you’ve done out there on the website, it usually uses scratchy kind of handwritten fonts.

They always go out of their way to find that font, because they want to kind of feel that you know it’s all right. I’m teaching you something its equivalent of that. You know whiteboard. So it’s very interesting to talk about. You know how people can connect through little things like that. So the next thing I’m going to talk about is personas, so personas are stunned to a standalone tool in the design process, but they only provide a partial picture of the relationship we’re building with that audience.

So, in really quick, this is actually one of the personas that calf share with me and there are on our website, so we use them all the time who has used personas as UX, yeah or known even well, even though new exercises are okay. So the reason why I was so excited that these chapter, in fact was the one that was available is because what errand us in this chapter, I thought it was absolutely amazing what he said about personas is sure we use them all the time we usually use Them to build that design, but what’s the persona of our website right, so we know who they are, but who are we if you were to build a persona on that website, you work on every day.

What would you have for all of these squares right grumpy? You know happy may be very cold right, so that is a really good way to quickly assess how you’re doing as far as holding that conversation with your users, so is anyone familiar with MailChimp, okay, good MailChimp Aaron actually is the UX design the principal head of You exile MailChimp, and it is a very interesting actual product, because imagine so really quick for those of you don’t know what milk shrimp is is pretty much a platform that helps you send lots of emails to lots of people and they’ve done an amazing job help.

You manage and design especially emails, so think about those marketing people that have to actually log in to send the next email to you know, promote the next thing and so on and so forth. So one of the things that he talks about is how MailChimp kind of brought some of that personality with their mascot mascot. I think it’s called Freddie and every time you login, he has a little message for you: okay, so um.

He actually shows how they started. Thinking of Freddie as an actual person and they started to track Freddie’s personality and they mapped it. So again is the concept of bringing personas into the actual product that you produce. So I add to me that was a very interesting concept. So the next thing I would like to talk about is the strategies for implementing emotional design. So this is the actionable bit so surprised.

So have you noticed that hearing your favorite song on the radio seems way more enjoyable, then just go ahead and go to Spotify and get it running right. So is the element of surprise that amplifies our emotional response? Is that anticipation? Is that not knowing that? What’s going to happen, so i’m going to show you this website. I know it’s really hard to see from at the back, but i’m going to describe this bit right here.

It says: do not pool okay, so someone asked a question and I really want to thank those of you that went to kind of ask questions as I was trying to put questions together and one of the questions that I got asked was: how do you measure Effectively measure emotional design – and I have two answers for you today night, so one of them is well a click-through rate through that do not pool would be a good one right.

So can someone just one person guess what happens if you were to pull it blows up a hand comes down and they actually pull to the next item or something like that, so it actually interacts with you so yeah. That’s that’s an interesting way to bring emotional design the next. The next strategy could be anticipation. Ok, so we owe I misspelled. Sorry with anticipation have any of you seen this last month.

Anyone who recognizes it was, I the only one paying attention. Ok, so this was all over the world of newspapers and stuff and it’s actually coming from three yeah yeah and they had this campaign going on for a while and let anyone know everyone know that it was going to happen that day and so on and so Forth so anticipation actually creates a load of emotion when it comes to designing. So the next thing I want to talk is a prime, ok and again.

Milk chimp is a excellent example. So priming happens when a person is exposed to a stimulus that it turns it shapes the response to another stimulus. So the best way to think about is the other day. I saw a little kind of dog presentation and every time they would pull a trick. That will give them a little bit of something so imagine for those marketing people that have to get into mailchimp and send the next bulk email.

Do you think they’re suspecting something new every time they log in? Do they pay attention to that funny message about who you know that be the best bananas? You know, that’s the first one right there, so it actually makes something that could feel kind of really not fun fun. So that’s one of the ways they’ve been able to kind of change their brand around so the other 10, and then this is this. Is answer number two about measuring emotional design? So that’s a really difficult thing to measure right because CTR is just going to be a click but prime prime prime e yeah priming yeah, so going back to measuring emotional design.

These are all the tweets that MailChimp gets about that experience. Okay, so talking about the articles that they’d link you to talking about how, even though they were frustrated, it cheered up, the monkey help them get cheered up. This one is the best they say I just logged in into mailchimp and the little monkey in the corn and says: hey Kate, new haircut, muy Guapo. It helps that I speak Spanish.

Doesn’t it uh? How do they know? You know just like, and it’s funny because Erin talks about this and he said, of course we never know, but hey someone out there, I statistically speaking most of got a new haircut and that created an emotional connection with her so much that she tweeted about it. So I know Twitter is not the most ideal platform for measuring stuff, but I think it actually tells you something right and don’t put it in your kpi’s fight, tweets, /, anyways um, the other one.

I’ve seen that is very interesting is asking for forgiveness. So so so far we looked. Oh no sorry, I right here, okay, asking for forgiveness, so this one is a perfect example. When something goes wrong, wear something you know: that’s going to go wrong, and that happens quite a bit when we’re dealing with backends and service and servers and so on and so forth. So one of the things I want to show today is this brilliant way for flickr to address that, so they had an outage, they knew was going to get people really really frustrated, but instead they just turn it into an actual contest.

So, even though you could not go on flickr and look at some photos, they encourage people to try out to take photos that will bring two colors together and people just win absolutely not, and they got really really creative and they turn that absolutely horrible experience into Something that people just couldn’t stop stop talking about so again asking for forgiveness is the idea that you can use emotional design in order to kind of ease the pain of things that are just completely inedible.

Okay, so really quick. After all of this, let’s go back to our question. So how do you embed emotional design, especially into a transactional website, so I think i’ll show you lots of examples today that you can definitely take into what we’re doing after right after this. But I want to show you a few more and especially because there’s some other examples that may not be for things us. You know fun.

So, for example, telling a story is a good way to bring emotional design. The other one is Gamma Phi Gamma Phi Gamma. Five, so going ahead and setting up your Dropbox and all that it’s just not that much fun, but Dropbox actually figured out a way to make it a little more of a game and make you feel good about it. Make it fun. So here is woeful, just kind of trying to hold a conversation and making you feel like it’s actually a game to create a forum, and I miss the sly, sorry and then mint.

Com. So the reason why i’m going to kind of wrap it up with mint com is because I found it to be the most transactional website. So has anyone of you heard of mint com yeah that I think that’s a very American thing? It’s yeah! So what minta come to us is that it actually helps you track all your expenses, so the challenge they have is that they don’t do anything for you in the sense that they’re, not banking, they’re, not a credit card, but you actually had to give all your Financial information and at first they had a really hard time convincing investors that this is something people will be willing to do, because you know it’s such a very scary thing to just give out your financial information to anyone.

So one of the things they did in order to to gain respect is to think about. How can we number one make sure it feels like we can? We are trustworthy that they can, actually, you know, put their financial information in there and how can we kind of differentiate ourselves from older competitors? So one of the things I didn’t go as to one of the principles, but one of the things they did is that they really thought out about the layout and all the different ways of bringing color to communicate.

Trustworthiness and to make people feel that this was a legit website and it’s a very interesting thing. Cuz the other day, I was in one of those websites that do like credit reports and stuff, and it feels so old-fashioned, and I did go through that emotional kind of decision. Three myself, I’m like hmm. How can they give me? You know information about my credit when he feels so fashion when the colors are so dated and so on and so forth, keep in mind i’m very biased because imac, you know ux designer, but it was really interesting because the way they turn this around was making Sure that they lay out the contracts, the color fell very professional and very trustworthy.

Ok, so I am at the end of my presentation. I really really hope these gave you lots and lots to think about tonight, and it is an absolutely wonderful, wonderful subject to talk about, especially because it reminds us how human we are like that. Babyface concept that I talked about it scare a few of you, but it is true. It’s very interesting when you go back into our psychology who we really are and how we actually can bring that to life unto our websites and all the stuff we work on on a day-to-day basis.

Thank you. So much for listening to my emotional design. Talk you

Curly Maple Chef’s Knives: Xmas For The Brothers and Sisters

I work on. These are Destined to be gifts eventually, I wanted them to all be similar because they’re Going to be for family members, I wanted them to have the same look to them, but I Also wanted to have a little bit of differentiation between them.

So I’m going to make the majority of the handles out of this curly maple and then I’ll be adding exotic hardwood segments, I cut them all to length and then I am Putting a diagonal cut in there, so I can insert the hardwood. I marked them so They would all be in a similar spot, but it’s really not critical of these are Exact because it’s not a set, I just wanted them to look similar. The accent Pieces are going to be red heart wenge, black palm and Osage orange.

I took Those pieces over to the belt sander since I cut them on the table, saw they Weren’t completely flat on that one edge I was holding in my hands. There’s a Little bit of movement – and I wanted this joint to be very tight because you’ll be Able to see in the finish scale pretty easily if there’s any gaps since they’re Such thin pieces also just for the glue bond. I wanted that strength. There Making a laminate out of some veneers – and this is going to serve a couple of Different purposes, the first is purely aesthetic I like to have a little bit of Pinstripe between the species of wood, also, since these are going to be Multiple pieces, I wanted to have something tying them together on the Back between the handle and the top of the scale, the way I oriented the grains Of this, wood is going to give them some extra strength, so there are ninety Degrees to each other, then that glued onto the back of the maple and the other Woods and there’s going to give more stability, while I’m working with it and Then hopefully, when it’s ultimately on the knife, it will too I slipped that Plastic wrap in there so that the pieces of veneer don’t stick to each other.

When the glue bleeds through when they’re clamped, while those are drying, I Turned my attention over to the pins that are going to go through the scales, I’m Using brass tube and I’m making a mosaic pin for these they’re going to be 4 Knives, so I’m cutting four sections of this brass tube. The way I make them, I Have to make them relatively short, because the epoxy won’t squirt reliably All the way, through, even with this length, there was a few little gaps.

I had to fill in after the pins were done for this. I’m Using TIG welding wire with the size of the brass tubes, these happen to Fit perfectly in there with three: it was a tight fit, so they weren’t going to wiggle Off center, when I started gluing them up, and it’s also going to have a nice Contrast between the black epoxy, the yellowish brass and then that White steel, With everything cut to size, I could start mixing up the epoxy.

This Is a five minute epoxy and get it at any hardware store the pigment I always use. Is it’s cheap? It’s readily available. You get it off. Ebay, they’re little baggies! Of pearl powder, like you, would add, to automotive paint, I use a syringe and Take the needle off and then you basically get some of that on the little Pieces of TIG wire and then you can squirt it in through both ends and when It starts coming out the other end.

You know that you’ve kind of pushed all the Air out of the system, the other thing I’ve heard of people using for the dye Is just Rit dye powder? It’s like a fabric dye have a try to myself, but Anything the colors, the epoxy, should work coming back to the scales you can See that those veneers that I had I cut up into small pieces, this I’m putting in Between the parts in between the hardwoods and the curly maple, I use Contrasting woods for those sheets of veneer, so you’ll kind of get a two Pinstripe effect and then I put the lighter parts into the darker wood in The darker parts out next to the maple, so to really pop a little bit more.

I put The pieces of wood on both sides of the veneer that way I could get more even Pressure and really get clamped on there well, when those had dried for a little Bit it was time to glue them into the the maple. I did this in two steps: Whenever you start getting these angles in there, it makes gluing them up a Little bit tricky, you can’t put a whole lot of pressure on them. Otherwise, They’ll tend to slide off, so it’s kind of a balance between getting just enough So that they stick together and not enough, so the glue joints weak, you can Get them to just stick together with the pressure of the glue, but I noticed some Of the ones I did that on especially on the second part, I couldn’t Get them to not slide, there’s a couple that kind of delaminated a little bit That I had to glue back together when I cut him in half and I’m wondering if Those weren’t, the ones that I didn’t clamp the other kind of funny thing that Those angles did was to the eye.

It was hard to make sure that the two pieces of The maple are parallel if they didn’t slide off relative to each other and Since these weren’t a whole lot wider than what I needed them to be in the Final product, I did need them to be pretty spot-on on there. I started Clamping them together and then sticking them on that flat piece. Of wood that way, I just maintained that as much thickness As I could to we get us work, it was some relatively tight tolerances.

I had Some extra to play with, but not a whole lot for a lot of things. I’m a Harbor Freight fanboy, but I would not buy a cordless drill from them. The batteries do Not hold a charge overnight. What I’m trying to do here is the pins had a Little bit of epoxy on the outside, just for me handling them. I needed to Get them back down to round and back down to the size they were before so They fit into the holes in the knives, so I’m taking it and just Chucking it up in the drill and running some sandpaper over it.

At this point, the Final dimensions are starting to get dialed in on the knife scale, so I am Making a template on the knife blank and it was really important where those Holes fell in relation to that diagonal stripe if they weren’t centered on it or If they were off, I thought it would really look funny in the final knife. So I was taking a lot of care to position those exactly where I wanted them and Then I’m trimming off the top part of the blank there on the table saw before I put the veneer backing on these.

I wanted to make sure that they were Really straight after that last cut, so I’m going back on there. I marked over With some pencil and then I can set them on their flat and whenever all the Pencil marks are gone. I know that I’ve hit all the regions that they’re all Level, for that part, that’s going to hit up against the knife. This was one of Those design changes that made it a little bit harder, but I think it was Worth in the finished product, the hard wood caps I’m putting on here, I would Have done it while the two sides were together, But I didn’t really know until I saw it with just the maple all the way up.

The Night, if I didn’t didn’t really like it, so I came back and trimmed them and put The caps on so at this point I’ve gone back and I have ground them flat on the Back a final time, this veneer is actually the second time I had to do. That I had some adhesion problems with the first one, where I didn’t get quite Enough glue in the joints, so the pieces of veneer were separating anyway. It went Back, I got those corrected and I’m using this tape.

In-Between and again, it’s just The same reason I used that plastic wrap the first time was that way, these aren’t Going to stick together, the veneer is thin enough that if you put enough glue In the joint it will bleed through and just that enough, that bleed through is Going to make it really hard to get them unstuck, after that, it was just a matter. Of letting them dry it till the next step here, I’m making a final set of tape.

Templates since the scales are at this point basically finished other than Their final shaping I’m doing a little bit different. This time. I thought I Would save some time by getting these scales to the exact right size before I Glued them on the knives. I thought this was going to save me some time, because when You put them on the knife and then shape them. You never to get scuffs on the Spine of the knife that you have to polish out trying to avoid that.

I think I took one step forward and two steps back, because I ended up having to shape Them anyway, I just couldn’t give them lined up exactly properly when you shape Them on the knife: it takes away all of the wood right down to the steel, a Little bit the steel too, but it makes that fit really precise. At this point, it’s Time to attach them on to the knife and start making the holes for the pins to Go through I’m using just regular Brad point wood drill bit, but I’m making sure That it’s pressed up tightly against the backing plate because I’ve had a lot of Instances where I’m coming and the scales are basically completely done.

And then I bust, through them, with the drill Bit and blow out a bunch of grain on the back, so you really don’t want that to Happen so I’m taking all the precautions I can against it after I have the one Side done, I flip it over position it and then I’m putting the pins all the way. Through that way, they’re going to be in their final And this is another thing where, if I shaped them, when they’re already on the Knife I can just glue one side down and drill through and then glue the other Side down the pins go right in, I don’t have to mess with having them in there.

Anyway, so I put the pins through and then I’m marking around the edge Figuring out where I want the top of that to be, and I’m going to take it over To the belt sander to get those exactly where they need to be, since there was Quite a bit of that extra hardwood on the very top I didn’t use the belt Sander to get the tops, even I came and used a handsaw just to get the Majority of the material cut off so I could shape them, so it was kind of Interesting and doing four of these at the same time, usually I don’t do any production runs of anything, so I’m always just doing a one-off and it’s Just kind of a fun creative thing, but when you start doing the same thing and Even just four times over, you start seeing the little tricks and you just do.

Each one a little bit better and you can really progress with your skills on on Whatever you’re doing in a way, you can’t when you’re just doing one at a time, The other thing I really noticed was how much time it takes to move from tool to tool And step to step when you’re just doing one, I didn’t really think about it. That Much but you know you’re spending a lot of time getting stuff out putting stuff Away we’re in this one: it’s you get it out, you do it four times and then you Can move on to the next part? At this point, I still think that I’m getting These scales precisely finished before I glue them on the knife, so I’m going Through getting them to the final thickness, no matter how you do it, you Have to do this top part and get it finished before you glue it down on the Knife, I clamp the two pieces together that way they would be exactly the same.

Heading back to these pins, I’m just using a dremel to cut them off to size. Each pin had a knife’s worth so three pieces trim them down. You can Ready to stick in there using the same kind of five minute, epoxy that I was Using for the inside of the pins, this time, of course, is not colored, but going Through getting a little bit on the pins a little bit on the back of the scale, Then glue down since they’re shaped pretty closely I can do both sides at once, but it mixed up only enough epoxy for one of these at A time I definitely couldn’t have gotten through all of these in five minutes and The stress factor would have gone way up if I was trying to move that quickly.

So Figure is better to just give myself a little bit of extra time and just mix up Enough for one or two at a time, the final one with the Wenge insert It definitely would have tripped me up and made the epoxy set up too quick. It wasn’t fitting quite right: the holes had gotten a little bit misaligned when I was drilling him, so I end up having to hammer them on and there was a little bit Of a crescent on the bottom of one of the holes, I filled that in with epoxy Just because Lowell was a little bit too big on one side, so I could make it fit.

Through all the way with all of them, I made sure to get as much the epoxy off Beforehand as possible, before it cured here, I’m setting up to grind the pins Flush with the handle I like to let this stuff sit overnight, because you build up A lot of heat, even if you’re careful to switch around the five-minute epoxy, will Feel like it’s set, but it’s not quite fully cured. You can blow it out and make The pins start moving if you get too much heat in there so better to let it Sit for a while this is what I was trying to avoid when I made those scales The right size – and I just couldn’t get the fitment quite right, so I came back And I end up having to grind the back of the knife down a little bit to make him Exactly flush, I was coming up on my Christmas deadline.

This is actually a night or two before so I needed a finish that was going to work. And it was going to work on the first time whenever I need that I always go to a Wipe on poly the film thickness isn’t really thick But since these are going to be chefs, knives are going to be getting wet, getting Water on them, so I wanted something that had a physical barrier between the user. And the wood on the knife so yeah wipe this on.

I sanded between coats, just a Little bit with a high grit sandpaper, I did about three or four coats on there. And let them dry in order. We have the red heart. First, the Osage orange Which is a really cool, curly piece of wood, the black palm, which I thought Turned out really beautifully and then finally in the wenge, these are some Really satisfying ones to make the curly maple really popped, and you can really See the grain the pins turned out really well in the Past I’ve had issues with the parts on the inside being a little bit.

Off-Center But with how those fitted there, they just fit it in perfect doing these over I think I would have tried to put a piece of the pinstripe between the Hardwood cap and the maple body, it was just a little bit too finicky for me to Try to take on with them already split down the middle, but a little detail in The end and I really like how they turned out, I wanted to thank you guys, For taking the time out your day to read my article, I do really appreciate it.

Google Keyword Planner Keyword Research For Your Bussiness

So if you don’t know what it is, Google Keyword planner is basically a free tool that is used to help make informed decisions about keywords. A keyword is basically anything you can type into a search box. People will call it longtail keywords and keyword, phrases and there’s a bit of semantics that go into there, but if you’re, just starting out, that’s not something that you need to worry about getting back to keyword, planner.

It was a tool that was built out by Google for advertisers, so it would be easier for them to go ahead and create campaigns on Google Adwords, basically letting them know information about who’s. Looking for what, at whatever time and how much money, it’s going to cost you to get that click, so you’ll be able to find information relevant to your audience without wasting your time and money. So if you’re, just starting out, you don’t really need to go ahead and spend hundreds of dollars every month buying new tools.

You just try this out see if you have all the information you need and once you’ve narrowed down your results, your research into a specific section, and only then will you really need to worry about more and more complex and intricate tools. So, to start off, we need to figure out what keyword research is, and why do you need it and who needs it? So if you don’t know keyword, research is basically research on keywords.

That’s pretty self-explanatory, figuring out what people are looking for, figuring out, whether your business aligns with them whether these are the right type of people being able to rank on those ads and, finally, to increase your sales and revenue. We’re basically going to be going over three things in these tutorials, using keywords for SEO, using keyword, planner to drive better results on your PPC campaigns.

That’s pay-per-click and finally, the nitty-gritty of keyword. Research will basically go ahead and look for a keyword that we use in our own agency, so you have a real-life working example like we were saying, keyword planner can be used by two people. One are business owners that are trying to create campaigns and finding keywords to convert on it’s pretty much the same process. The only difference is if you’re, a business owner of your goal is to look for a very low small, complete, very low competitive keywords, so that you can spend as little money as you can and rank number one in that specific search term.

So you can get more visitors that are looking for the ideal target, but if you’re into content, it’s a bit different because you want to rank for that highest hardest, most the keywords behind with the most money. So, if you’re into content – and if you have your own niche blog, if you’re writing about gardening in San Francisco or something it’s a bit different, because you want to rank for the highest competitive keywords.

So if your goal is to make money on your blog with Google Adsense or something, then you want to make sure that you’re trying to back keywords that have a lot of money behind them. So you don’t want to be the number one blog of a very obscure category with no money behind it. One thing that we found recently when we were doing some research for software is that open source key programs like open source CRM is an open source.

Anything has very little competition because, to be honest, there’s no money to be made in that people that are looking for open source software are generally not the guys that are looking to pay money. So that’s a really cool thing: if your model is generating revenue through Google Adsense, that’s not the niche you want to be in. So that’s one side of the spectrum. The other side of the spectrum are business owners.

Whether you want to try to create content on your own blog and rank for a specific keyword or you want to figure out which keywords have actual value and which you can afford to get a click for. Because if you want to find something like diet or weight loss, it’s going to be ridiculously competitive for you, so you can’t really sell products on that through Google Adwords. Well, you could but you’re not really going to make a profit unless you have insane conversion rates, because you’ll be looking at spending tens and twenty dollars per click and above so, what you’re trying to do is look for a decent keyword which you think will have Good results now, of course, this doesn’t justify everything, there’s still a ton of a be testing that you need to do with words with URLs with designs and that’s a different topic for another day.

Nowadays, the internet plays a very important role in our lives. More and more people are looking for specific services or products using search engines every day you want to increase the efficiency of your site, store or social network page will, help you search through the competition in order to successfully grow in this modern internet driven world. You have to be at the top of the browsers list, we’re a company that provides a full package of internet marketing services.

So, let’s work together, we’ve helped hundreds of businesses and we can help you too ww search viral com. So if you don’t have an account already go ahead and create one by going to adwords.Google.Com – and you can just sign in with your Google account if you want to the signup process – is very basic if you’ve built a gmail account, you know how to do this. So once you create your Google account, you will be locked into the dashboard of Adwords and it’ll.

Show you what you’ve been doing. So if you haven’t done anything right now, it’s just going to be an empty dashboard, but on the navigation bar you’ll, see an option called tools inside tools once you click on the Tools, menu you’ll have a bunch of sub menu items, go ahead and click keyword, Planner inside that, and now we’re actually ready to begin so once you’re, there you’ll see four different tools in two different categories: the first category is find new keywords and get search volume, data and the second category is for budgets and forecasts, so we’ll only be looking At the first one, really because unless you’re a very advanced user and are currently spending a lot of money on Adwords, that’s really not something you’ll be looking into inside that you have three options: search for new keywords, using a phrase website or category.

The second option is get search, volume, data and trends and finally, multiply keyword list to get new keywords. The first option, the first tool so we’ll just call the tool. The first tool is perfect if you are in the lookout for ideas. Well, if you list your product or your seed keyword, your first thing it’ll basically create a bunch of derivatives of that keyword. It’ll use various amounts of data from your product, your service, and if you input your website, it will go through your landing page and it’ll.

See what you’re trying to sell the more information you give this? Basically, the better results, it’s going to give for you so search viral is a digital marketing agency right. The main product that we actually sell is social media management. Let’s go ahead and use this to get some actual results on a campaign that we can use to get more businesses to pay us to manage their social media. What we’re going to do is go ahead and type social media agency, or you could say social media management.

Let’s just go ahead and do that because that is the product, not the type of business and we’ll go ahead and put surged viral com locations. So initially we are currently actually looking for a campaign we’re doing a bunch of ads to advertise to people in the UK, so I’m going to go ahead and have United Kingdom’s United Kingdom’s as my country. So if you are in the UK, you would that Google AdWords is expensive and that’s not really a bad thing.

As long as the market makes sense, you wouldn’t really have a problem. There is a bunch of stuff that you want to do this. The first thing is the product keywords: these are what your product is, you can add more than one you can add like a bunch of stuff so like, if you have a I mean we could technically add like social media SEO, digital marketing and all of that To get results customized directly to your business, but we’re doing this on a very micro level, because we want to only sell this one product because we have capacity to handle a lot of that.

And that would be perfect for us right now because, unlike SEO, Google Keyword planner is about giving you instant results. You don’t want to plan for like two years ahead, because these things change and you will have to keep on updating these stuff. So I’m ready to sell social media management right. We have your landing page and we’ll click United Kingdom English. We can check, check Google and Google and partners.

I ideally search for Google, because I don’t need that information right now, so negative keywords it. This is a very interesting a lot of people completely disregard that, and that’s a really bad thing to do so. What a negative keyword is is that it removes a specific. It removes a specific type of people so, for example, if you’re selling in a item that you know that someone, if it’s a very confusing item right, for example, if it’s social media management – and we can put tools as a negative keyword, because we don’t want people That are looking for social media tools.

We want people that are looking for social media agencies and it can be very confusing. So if someone is looking for social media management tool, we’re not their customer, we want people looking for social media as a service. So do we have that you can change the date range? How, since when have they taken it? What we generally do is we take it from July, and we just take it, as you know, as far back as possible, just because we could get a better understanding of that information.

We can have keyword filters based on the amount of searchers, so whether people are looking for only a hundred times or you want to avoid people under a specific amount of searches, and you can decide how the competition you want it to be, of course, initially. If this is your first time, I think you should avoid this, but yes, you have this information. You only show ideas that are closely related.

So what I? What we basically do is the first time we just go completely ham and then worry about this later. You can always refine and you will have to refine, but don’t worry about that right now, so we have the search traffic data, so we know that yes, it’s gone up slightly on average. Now, for that specific keyword that we’re looking for social media management – that’s pretty brutal, it has the thousand six hundred searches average per month, which is great.

The competition is medium, but the suggested bid is insane. So if I’m getting a click, they expect me to put $ 20 or $ 17, and that just doesn’t make sense right. So we need to figure out. I mean we can do a bunch of things. We can try to figure out if there’s something cheaper. Like look at this digital agency SEO, there’s ten people looking for it and the suggested bid is madness, so we can do a bunch of things right now that we have that information.

We can. We know the trends of data you can see if people, what type of people look for this mobile has grown up. I think that I mean mobile. Tate has gone up. It’s probably just more people using mobile devices, then actually that specific search term going up. So we have this information and how exactly is it? Do we find something that we think makes sense right like social media, for dummies, this isn’t someone.

So what you need to do is go through these keywords, one by one really and go through these ad group ideas right. So ad group ideas are basically bulk keywords that, for example, if you click digital agency, it breaks down into little little keywords in that. For you to see, if there’s actually any viability, so it suggested bit if you have keywords without suggested bids, that generally means that not a lot of people are advertising on it.

It could also mean that there’s very few people so that it doesn’t really show stats. So, for example, let me just check this out. You can open, add it in ad preview to see if there’s okay, let’s preview, this in the United Kingdom and we will see yeah. So there is a ton of advertising on this particular keyword and we really don’t want to hit that, even though it says like even though it’s a it just basically doesn’t have enough data because there’s only probably like one or two searches.

So if they say ten, it’s generally between zero to ten, so we’ve done, I mean before I did this article. We went through like a bunch of keyword, ideas to find exactly what we wanted and what we’d really figured out was. You need to understand how a customer your specific customer would think right. So you would need to understand how your specific customer would think and what we did was we found out that we can go ahead and I mean a lot of agencies.

Don’t really have their pricing publicly visible. There was a ton of people that were just looking for social media management price. Even though social media management price was ridiculously expensive at $ 10, we managed to find that there’s a good bunch of people that are searching for social medium packages. You can see that the trend is generally going up. There is about 140 people. Yes, that’s not a ton of people, but you don’t need to find keywords with millions and thousands of people searching for.

Actually it’s better. If it’s a small group of people that you think are going to be your perfect audience right, we can see that is medium. Competition but the suggested bid is low. There are people advertising on it, but it’s something that you can test out because for for our product in particular, you’re looking at spending 300 plus dollars per month for us to manage that. So if we get a click at $ 3 and then if we convert our sale at around 20 clicks or even if we convert our sale at a hundred clicks, we still come out ahead in that campaign.

What you really need to do is understand how a keyword plays into the role of traffic to conversion, to lead and, finally, closing that sale, but you also need to understand price is very subjective. If someone is selling a five-dollar item, this doesn’t even make remote sense right. But if you are someone who is selling a large ticket item like us, then this is completely fine, because $ 3 is simply a drop in the proverbial bucket.

If you’re going to find someone who is very interested in seeing the price of the product that he or she is about to purchase, so what we would generally do is find something like this, maybe even social media, marketing packages or social media services pricing, even though That is actually a bit competitive, so if we go ahead and look at the preview on how badly this is clustered, let’s just put code at UK as well, you can actually see our ad because we’re the first rank their social media marketing pricing.

How much did you pay, so I hope this article helped you guys we actually do have a tutorial on the website. OFFICIALLY a Gymshark Athlete – How To Become a Sponsored Athlete

This right here is a article that I’ve been making, or this article is in the making for over two years. You might think wow, there’s this incredible edit coming right now. He works on a article for two years and all you do is talk. What do you mean? So I’ve been waiting to say this line for over two years, actually longer than that, I would say actually three years or maybe five.

The reason why I’m saying that is because what I started going to the gym, my friends were always wearing gym shirt. They had these luxe pants. The looks outfit like the most Oh G of OG outfits that Jim shark had back in a day. The first thing I ordered ever of Jim, where was Jim’s shark, looks outfit the the trek suit and a tank top. So the reason why I’m saying is I’ve been wanting to make this article for five years is that I now can officially say that I am a Jim shock Atlee and this article is about becoming an athlete giving tips on how to become one.

This is such a huge huge deal to me and it’s not just because I’m an athlete, the title alone sounds awesome and it sounds like something crazy and I’ve worked so hard for it. So the title means a lot to me, but it represents much more than a title to me. It represents a grind. It represents a vision that I had for myself. That is slowly and with small steps becoming a reality, and it sounds really confusing.

Maybe – and it sounds really vague and really like philosophical, maybe but this title means so much more than just a title to me and let me explain why when I first started in the gym. Obviously I just wanted to work out. I wanted to better myself – and I’ve explained this many many times in my articles. The gym for me was after football or soccer like an individual thing, that I could better myself in and actually see myself get better at over the time.

For me, this represents a lot. It means a lot the fact that I’ve been with Jim shark for over two years, and I started as a small affiliate. I had 4,000 subscribers. If that I had a couple thousand followers on Instagram, I was pretty much a nobody and I still consider myself a nobody, but obviously, on a little different level. I had a little bit of luck on becoming affiliate with Jim shark, since I knew a guy face sensor who was becoming an athlete and he pretty much got me in as an affiliate.

So thank you Doug. I really appreciate you recommending me to Jim shark. It really changed everything for me so two weeks ago I got a call from the guy. That is the point of contact from me. It’s my met. Well, my Jim shark managed, I would say – and he said so Jasper we’re getting rid of the Academy. I’ve heard it’s like some of the Academy other Academy members, I’m a friends with so I talked to them and they’ve heard some stuff.

They heard from other people that getting kicked and I was getting really worried because I’m really passionate about the brand. I’m really. I’m still a big fan of the brand so to be affiliated to be an Academy member on Jim’s shark. It’s like was like the the biggest best thing for me. So I got a call two weeks ago and he said Jasper were getting rid of the Academy and I was in a gym. I was with Vera, I was training.

I was like Vera. This phone call right now is going to either break me apart or is going to really like something incredible is about to happen, so I told her I was like listen if this phone call goes south. If he goes back, I need some shoulders to cry on the position that I’m in right now, with faze clan being employee training with the guys traveling is incredible and I’ve that’s what I’ve worked for this, like the face out of my life, like I’ve, worked so Hard to get there and Jim sharp the other side is also the same thing.

I’ve worked so hard and believed so much of myself that I could do it. If I was getting dropped, it would be a huge blow for me, a huge huge setback, but luckily Derby said they wanted me to take me on as an athlete. But Jim shark showed me – and I showed myself that working hard for something will eventually pay off, and this is this is what I want to talk about in this article as well. I know this article could be a little bit long, but I’m really passionate about talking like this.

I, like I really like, because I truly truly believe that at some point, if you have something in mind that you could actually achieve it like this, is not some sort of fairy tale and there’s always going to people who going to we’re going to tell you You can do it or it’s too big or – and I just want to say this – but for five years I’ve imagined myself being a gym track athlete for five years, five years and two and a half of these years, I would say I was affiliate getting in Contact with Jim shark, I was promoting the brand for not much pay, but I was doing it because I loved it and I love Jim shark, and I know that, if I put in the work it will come back to me in some way.

Some form like. I don’t care how, but it will get get back to me and Jim shark showed me that, because they said Jasper, you’ve done some amazing work for us. You promoted us, you work for us. You were always open to do everything for two and a half years. Now it’s your time now you’re an athlete! That’s why it means so much to me, because it’s not just about the title is about the idea that for two and a half years you grind for something without getting much back, but it will get you somewhere that you otherwise couldn’t come.

So to all of you who are reading this article right now, we want to become a sponsored athlete or become sponsored by someone or wan na join phase or wanted whatever you want to do, I’m here to tell you this. This is the truth. You have to put in the work, even if you don’t get anything in return for it directly, it will pay off eventually, if you want to become a sponsor, let’s just keep Jim shark as an example.

If you are someone reading right now, and you really really really want to get sponsored by Jim shirt, you have this vision, you want it so badly. One always always believe you can do it, no matter what I don’t care, what you say, you always have to believe you could do it. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have, I’m not the biggest Instagram. I don’t have the biggest YouTube, but I know the guys are reading right now.

You guys are so loyal and you guys are so hardcore. It showed Jim shark that we’re worth something we’re of value to show your dedication to the brand. Like do stuff. Like I wrote a blog I did stature takes over. I was always down for new ideas. I always hit my guy. I was like yell. What can I do better? What kind of do more ask for feedback, see what you could do better for the brand? You know become friends with the people off the brand honor.

This is one of the most important things, the guy that I’m in contact with his name is Derby he’s different greatest guy ever I could just hit him up about football, and we could just talk about Ronaldo Messi for an hour. It’s the best thing ever pretty much. What I’m trying to say this is kind of something. This whole article is kind of vague, maybe, but it maybe make a lot, but it might make a lot of sense to you.

So if you want to, if you want to join Jim jar as an affiliate or whatever you want to become an athlete, just know that it’s possible look at me: I’m not the biggest guy, that’s strongest guy, I’m not the greatest youtuber. I don’t have the biggest following, but still I’m here after two and a half years, I can call myself a gym. Shot got Lead Belly. You know sick. That sounds to me. That’s so crazy.

They I’ve worked may half years with Jim shark and I’ve. I’ve wanted this for more than five years, but a key point was: I never stopped believing it sounds so cliche. I never stop. Stop believing and the myself and my ability to do it because I knew, if I would put in the work it will return to me. I want to say thank you to all of you guys like for the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much you guys, all of you guys if you are reading right now, you made this possible no matter how long you’ve been subscribed, or this is the first article you’ve ever readed of me, hi, I’m Jasper by the way.

This is all because of you. This is, I may put in the work because I make the articles, but you guys are the reason why I still do it well, I have all these great opportunities. This is thank you I would say. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much so other people I want to thank is Dan. Dan Krane is one of the the guys that put me took me on two and a half years ago, he’s unfortunately not with James Sherk anymore, but if you’re reading this, I wouldn’t say.

Thank you Dan. I wan na say thank you to face and say because he’s been here with me and for me for all this time from now on, I just want to work even harder and even better to become one of the the great guys in Jim shark, like David, Laid like a Lex like a Steve cook, so that’s going to so that’s going to be the next goal. For me, I always set new goals for myself. I can achieve one and then it’s on to the next.

Always aim high always aim higher. Thank you. So much again, if you enjoyed this article, if you got something from it, if if it could these articles more for, like this article, I hope to god some, maybe to you 10 20 40 hundreds, a thousand people may realize fuck. I can do this like. I can do this all right now put in the work and let’s get to work, peace.
