In the morning, you grab your computer, your laptop your iPad Pro your surface pearl. Whatever you use to do your daily work on you type out a quick 200 to 500 word email. You send that out to your list and within minutes you start to see sales rolling in for your products and your services right, and that is the beauty of having an email list, is it’s kind of like being able to write yourself a check every single day Or whenever you want, whenever you hit the send button? Okay, so an email list, it’s one of your most powerful acids and I don’t care how many people say: it’s dead or email is dying.
It’s not dying, it is like the it’s like your identity on the internet. Everybody has an email that they check pretty much on the daily. So I want to show you in this article one of the most important aspects about having an email list and that is being able to build and grow that list. So, as you see on the screen here, this is active campaign. This is the email service provider that we use. We have.
We just started growing this list at the end of February of this year, February, 2020. So near the end of the month. We started growing this list and we have three thousand four hundred and twenty subscribers. After just a few months, it’s it’s July, ok, so Ron, you know four and a half months, or so we were able to grow it to three thousand four hundred and twenty subscribers. Now this is a pretty small list right.
This is relatively. If you ask anyone like an internet marketing or digital marketing bill, they’ll say this is a small list and it is but it’s a it doesn’t need to be huge for you to rake in big-time profits. If you have like an engaged list – and you have good products and services, so I’m going to show you here. This is our stripe account. In the month of June, we generated twenty two thousand five hundred and nine dollars and sixty cents – and we just launched this this business in at the end of February as well, when we launched this this email list, and this isn’t including PayPal.
So we have another. Seven thousand dollars, or so in PayPal from the month of June, so this is closer. The amount that we’ve generated in June was closer to thirty thousand dollars, just under thirty thousand dollars from a three thousand four hundred and twenty person list. Okay, so that’s around almost ten ten dollars per subscriber on our list right. This is an insanely, powerful tool that you have more acid that you have now.
What I’m going to show you that’s different in this article is the way that I personally am growing my list and works especially well. If you are a content creator or info publisher or you create any kind of content and you’re you’re you’re, putting a price tag on and you’re selling info products or courses or ebooks or whatever it is, this is going to work, especially well for you, okay. So what I have here is a strategy for, if you don’t have any email list, yet we’re going to help you change that and show you how to go from zero to a thousand subscribers on your email list.
If you already have a thousand subscribers, I’m going to tell you how to go from a thousand to ten thousand. If you want right using the strategy that I’m using right now day in and day out to grow my list. Okay and it’s very simple: there’s it starts with a traffic source. I personally love YouTube, because once you create a article, it can be viewed for years and you don’t really have to touch it just get to put into the algorithm the search engines on YouTube and people can view it every single day for years and years and Years to come, okay, so you create it once and it’s kind of like this acid that continues to live over time and generate you more views and traffic and leads over time.
So my traffic source, my favorite one, is YouTube. You can use whatever you want we’re going to drive them to a niche specific Facebook group. I want to show you what that looks like and I’m going to show you why that’s so powerful and then from the Facebook group going to drive them to our email list. Okay, now the reason I do it this way is it’s helping me grow three different assets all at once, right, it’s kind of like killing three birds with one stone, I’m growing my youtube blog, I’m growing my facebook group and then I’m growing my email list, all At the same time, or that, so I love this strategy here that I’m using so I’m going to show you what this looks like.
This is a YouTube article July 8th. This is I’m actually filming this in July 8th. I just posted this article today and, as you can see in the description, there’s a link to join my free Facebook group on starting a six-figure online service business. Okay, now that’s! This is a completely different conversation: how to start a Facebook group. But if you want to start a Facebook group, a quick tip is make sure that you have a very specific outcome or a reason to join the group right.
So if someone wants to start a six-figure online service, business they’re going to join this group right and that’s what this group is for, I also have here in the comments I pinned comment on every article that says like this article. I do live trainings like this into my free face for a group join here, and they just click on this and what happens is they’re going to see a page that says join this group, we’re going to click join and it’s going to show them here.
Different questions that they need to fill out to join the group. Ok, so these are the three questions that I asked upon joining the first one is a segmentation, a qualification question, so it asked what’s up what type of a business do you run and who do you serve, and this helps me get a feel of the person In their background, if they have any business experience, they’ll say here: why are you running a successful agency or I run a successful consultancy whatever they run and they’ll talk about the niche that they work with? Ok, so this is kind of a segmentation qualification question to help me know who exactly is joining the group.
The second thing is, is my lead magnet, so is that it says, enter your email only if you want or five-step winning formula that took us from 0 to 7 clients in 30 days, it’s a cheat sheet, so they put in their email address and I’m going To show you why this is awesome, just a second and the last question is: how did you find this so it could be. I have different sources of traffic LinkedIn. I have Facebook search.
I have my youtube blog. I have my email list from four previous subscribers right, so I want to know where they’re coming from most people. Eighty percent of people will come from my youtube articles. So that’s how I’m focusing extra hard on creating those YouTube articles. So we have the qualification question here. We have the question that gets them. It gives them the lead, magnet if they’re interested and grabs their email address, and then it asks them where they came from.
How did they find this? So I know the referral source? Okay, so why is this so awesome? Well, first, off I’m making one article per week, one or two articles per week that that grows my YouTube blog right. I have nine thousand nine point, five, four subscribers right now and it drives them to my it grows. My blog, of course, but it drives them to my Facebook group right they join my facebook group.
I think we have how many people do. We have two thousand eight hundred eleven members right now and it also grabs their email address right. You just saw it ask them for their email address in exchange for a lead magnet, so I grabbed their email address from there. They get put into this sequence here. This is an automated campaign where they often you can see here s FD s, Facebook group lead magnet optin, they get tagged for this, lead, magnet opt-in and they get put into an email nurturing sequence, a welcome sequence right.
So first they get their cheat sheet and then they get a series of different emails. That’s designed to sell my products, I have a front end offer that’s an e-book called six-figure drop servicing and I sell that e-book through these emails right. So I have seven different emails that go out that pitches them or offers them my ebook. I think it’s, oh, it’s eight different emails that goes out, okay or actually nine here so see, as you can see quite a few emails that go out and nurtures them and and introduces them to myself and my brand and who I am and what I do And of course, it’s trying to get the sale for my e-book getting them to become a go from being a prospect to a customer okay.
So what is going on here? Why is this so powerful, especially if you’re an info publisher, you’re selling, any kind of ebooks or courses or you’re selling services as well? This could work very well for services, I’m actually rolling this out for for my agency, email marketing services. So what’s happening again, we have the YouTube blog source of traffic right. I just post a article every week and it has links to join my facebook group in the description and the comments they join.
My facebook group they give me their email address. They tell me who they are. I get to see exactly who’s joining my group and be unable to segment them based on their experience level from there they get put into my email list. Here they get put into a sequence. That’s automatically designed to turn them from a prospect into a paying customer on my front end offer and from there my email list grows.
I have around 20 people that join my email list every single day from this automated campaign, okay, so gross every single day. Around 20 people join my email list from this little sequence here: right: YouTube: article niche Facebook group email us at growth bar around 17 to 20 people every single day. Now the other powerful thing, the reason I’m able to generate so many sales is, as you can see here every day I am posting, I’m posting, let’s see if we can jump in here, I’m posting an email right, so seven, seven eight, which is today, I posted One I missed yesterday because L is on the road, but basically every single day, I’m posting an email right.
I’r writing up a very short. You know these are not very long. Emails I’ll show you this one real, quick, okay, this is less. I think this one was around 150 words or self K, so you can see very short, not long emails. They don’t need to be very long. I like to keep it within 200 to 500 words, and I send this out, try to send it out every single day. Bren! That’s! This is what generates you sales so, as you saw earlier 3400.
Oh, I just got a subscriber just now: 3421 subscribers on my email list was generating 30,000 dollars per month around nine to ten dollars per email subscriber okay. So if you can actually implement this right, have a traffic source again, I like YouTube. I recommend YouTube if you’re comfortable with growing your blog, and it helps in so many different ways other than just growing your email. Let’s try to build your brand, your authority.
It of course, helps you to get sales if you’re, offering good products and services, but you’re also able to use it to siphon traffic into your Facebook group and your email list as well and grow all these three platforms and these three assets all at once. Okay, so if you’re looking to get your first 0 to 1000 email list, subscribers try to strategy out. Okay, have a traffic source again, I recommend YouTube, but if you want to use LinkedIn and to a lead, magnet or just go straight to your Facebook group, that’s fine as well, but this is the strategy that I’m using here to grow all three of these platforms.
All at once YouTube to niche specific Facebook group to an email list and from there I’m emailing daily different offers and different products and services that I have ok. So I hope this was helpful for you guys if it was giving me a like. If you have any questions comment below this is only about growing your email list. I will have more articles in the future about writing the actual emails and setting up automations and setting up sequences.
But yes, this is a very powerful strategy. If you actually implement it, it’s not a get-rich-quick overnight thing I never post get-rich-quick overnight stuff, but it’s very, very powerful, as you saw that I showed you in this article so grow all these try to sell yo you’ll grow 3 different assets all at once. If you copy it exactly how I’m doing it here and future articles I’ll show you more on actually writing the emails than sending up automations and setting up sequences okay.
So that’s it for this article I’ll see you guys on the next one.
I’r super excited to be joined with my co-host Justin Nealey, what’s up Justin, What’s up Seems like everybody, These days has some type of side hustle. This is the Side, hustle economy right, Wait! What’s your side hustle, I just hustle ( laughter, ), Fair same oh, my gosh We’re doing the same thing So, what’s kind of the big challenge that someone reaches they’re like “ Yeah, I wan na turn this Into a side, hustle.
”, What’s one of the first things that halts them from getting there, I think the biggest Thing is figuring out what their side hustle’s going to be about, because we have a lot of Different things we do Some people like to Just eat pizza all day, some people like….. What was Your Twitter handle again @ EmmaWantsPizza. I look Forward to your follow First step is drilling Down “, What do I actually want to be known for what Do I actually wan na do?” When I think of something I’r passionate about I just wan na give it all of my time.
I don’t want it to be a side hustle. I wan na give 110 % so How do you balance that I think the biggest thing Is to start small right, We can’t just go full-force on it. Some of us can’t afford To take that full leap and just become a full-fledged entrepreneur, Good point: That’s why we have that side hustle! It’s that great source of income to basically test the Waters and figure things out before we can make that leap and see if it’s a viable option.
Totally Cause we got bills right. Can you really make money with this? Is that something that People get hung up on, or do you think people get distracted with side hustles that are Just full passion projects in hopes that they’ll make money. One day I mean: where does that come in? I think it’s both You can either spend a lot of money towards your side. Hustle And not take it anywhere or you can make it something lucrative.
So another thing that comes to mind, besides, of course, making Money with a side hustle is time resources. What do You have advice about that. So that’s tough right. The biggest thing is You have to prioritize what’s important and set aside time, so you can actually Work on your side, hustle or not. Let your side hustle Control your entire life Cause. I know that I’ve been there I freelanced for a while in the past It caused me to just burn out which is pretty common.
I imagine yeah In the side hustle world, It challenges your balance every day, 100 %, so the biggest Thing you need to do is prioritize what you need to accomplish and set aside specific times. Of when you’re going to do things cause you still have to have a life. You still have to eat that pizza. So what would you say for Me if I had a side hustle and you were going to give me some advice about time, management and planning ahead.
How would I do that, So you can basically Take your content calendar to real life, so on Tuesdays you’re going to work on social media for three hours And then on Friday. You’re going to do whatever You can really just piece: That out, but start small, You don’t wan na overwhelm yourself and you don’t wan na burn out cause. If you go too full-force into this you’ll end up just not Liking what you love to do, and we don’t want that to happen.
How do you decide which platform to use First and foremost, you Have to have a website, That’s basically the first Place that people are going to go to make sure that you’re legitimate And then two go to social Make sure you’re out there promoting your products? Telling people what you do following people in your niche Having those conversations – And I would still do a little bit of in-person in real life right And have those connections – And go to local meetups or go to networking events and find people that are in your potentially Your area, your niche and build up those connections.
I love that. I call that local love All right Like if you’re the Juice bar in Silverlake follow the yoga studio next door, There’s a lot of overlap and similarities between their target audience Right and then, once you get everyone to whatever platform you end up. Choosing your website social in real Life that local love right, You got ta get paid, There’s a lot of cool platforms out there that make it super easy to get paid Like what We all know Square right, The little thing that just the dongle that gets put in your phone And you swipe the credit card right there.
I am so grateful for Square when I go To the farmer’s market, And then we have PayPal and Stripe for online processing, so Lots of easy integrations like WordPress or just any Type of website builder that we have that you can Easily set up and get paid Or Venmo if it’s a local transaction, — Ugh, I love Venmo. I love Venmo, the random Conversations people have, I see, lots of tacos in –. That’s how I pay my landlord In your feed.
That’s how I keep my friends happy. That’s it! Splittin’ those bills: What do you do when it Comes to protecting yourself and the policies that go along with that Right – and this is Something that you might have to go and get advice from a lawyer with, Because you wan na make Sure that you’re protected You’ll, probably wan na File some sort of LLC or register your business in some way, There’s a couple different variations, But do that first and foremost On your website.
If you have one terms of service, is a must. Same with a privacy policy, especially with some of the GDPR stuff that I won’t go into in this episode And then check out, there’s A lot of generators out there for web design contracts, for example, or just random service Contracts, you can use and protect yourself and your audience Okay, so this probably won’t come as a surprise that I’m going to ask this.
But how will you promote this side hustle, You know I’m a little Biased social media You’ve got your love, Got my love for the social media, but how are you going to promote it? The biggest piece of Advice that I can give is have some sort of lead generator on your website, because Leads turn into customers And that lead generator could be an eBook. It could be a article Series, it could be some of your blog content.
It could be coaching could be whatever you want it to be, Just that free piece of Advice or free content that you can give your audience That then turns into leads, and you continue that Conversation with them, Oh absolutely Right and now with social media. What are your top three Social media platforms, If I was to run a side hustle What do you want me on All right? That’s easy! Instagram for yours, Instagram Twitter and Facebook: That’s going to help you to reach A variety of demographics, which last we spoke That was your side hustle.
It wasn’t specific to an age group Also they work better together, So think about this too, and this is what’s really cool about your side. Hustle. Is you have a variety of angles to go? You could post something That’s educational today, but also besides educational, you could just post things: That are just entertaining Also some great ways to Engage on social media to spread more word-of-mouth To promote your business, Ask questions that your target Audience would wan na answer And so you’re mixing up the Types of posts that you’re doing and as a result, you’re getting That real word-of-mouth And, like you say you don’t wan na, go on there and just sell, sell, sell You wan na go on there.
And tell tell tell Yeah Right, It can’t be all about you and say: “ Hey buy this buy this Buy this buy this!” Cause. No one wants to actually follow that and be a part of that they’re. Just going to scroll past you or unfollow you. How do I know that? What I’m doing the promotions, I’m putting together the time, I’m investing it’s getting me a return on investment. For my side, hustle And that’s tough, What a lot of people get Hung up on are subscribers and like counts, which It’s somewhat important, What’s more important, Are your sales right? Are you making an impact? And are they buying from your service or product that you have for your side hustle? So there’s lots of Different tools out there that could potentially They track a lot of that QuickBooks for your sales.
Or online bookkeeping, Facebook has a lot of Really great tracking software, so you can See your engagement, you can see how many People viewed your post, viewed your article liked it shared it — Clicked on the post Same thing with Instagram. You can see how many people viewed It liked it commented — Engagement rate Right So, wherever whatever Platform you’re using there’s something to track that visibility or with your website itself.
You can use Google Analytics to see how people are coming to your site, Good point, How often they’re coming to your site, how they’re staying on there Are they just bouncing? That’s called a bounce Rate they literally just bounced they’re out, But what about paid promotions? This is the part where A lot of people end up spending a lot more into The personal side hustle than it actually pays them I bet It’s really easy today to start putting $ 5 a day $ 10 a day and At the end of the month, you’re like “, Where did my money go? This is supposed to make me money!”.
So what I would say, To that is start small Start with a couple Dollars here and there and kind of figure out what’s Getting you the traffic what’s actually converting to sales, and once you find something That works expand on that There’s. No one size fits all when it comes to paid advertising. — I believe that, But I can say going back: To what we said earlier is making it about how You help your audience and how you can really help them grow All right, that’s a wrap Justin! Thank you.
So much for being here, Thank you for having me And for all of you listening in, be sure to subscribe to our Blog, if you haven’t already More articles and fun and laugh And learn sessions to come

I particularly like this that we have no interest in being grammar nazis. So as long as it’s readable, it’s good. There are also some other restrictions, but they’re pretty easy and almost all articles get submitted as long as they follow these guidelines, I’m spamming, being paid now. This is something you might be interested about right now. There are no plans to pay writers, it’s more just getting experience and having something to put on your resume when you go apply for a real job, writing articles on any website order for a magazine.
According to this, the plan is to have paid content creators at some point, so probably in the future, it might be ad supported and the content creators would get paid by like their page views or something like that. Please note we are in alphabetic beta testing of this site, so you can see it’s an early version of the site. Probably you can tell that by the how it’s not finished, but it’s growing and if we head on over to the Alexa page for geek brain dump com, you can see it’s ranked 1.
7 million and three hundred thousand in the United States so um compared to many Other websites – this is pretty good – has a 45 percent bounce rate, 1.8 pageviews per visitor and 242 minutes 46 seconds daily time on site, which is pretty average for our website. Most of the well. A good portion are from the United States, but I guess they don’t have statistics right now, since it’s a relatively new site, so going back here, it’s very easy to get started.
So, to sum it up, all you have to do is email. Your article about technology or computers to this email include the information such as their name and any profile information, for example, going down here. It will give your name and profile, and now you don’t create an account Eli. The computer guy will do this for you and keep everything organized for you. So it’s pretty nice. All you have to do is email the articles, so this is an easy way to start your tech, article writing,

Now I have attached a Link in the description please go and read, it and you’ll definitely know So to Talk about social media marketing.
I have with us a social media, marketer who’s Name is Rachit Hegde. He is a Facebook Certified Lead Trainer. He’s a Facebook Ad specialist and a lead generation specialist: He is the Co-Founder of The Small Business Project, which is based in Mumbai and he’s an Expert in something called as Performance Marketing, which is basically designing. Setting up and running ads for various companies, including healthcare, fitness As well as events, Fun fact-, if you’ve known the biggest TEDx event that Happened in Asia, which is TEDx Gateway, which happened in Mumbai, The Digital marketing, social media marketing, especially was done by Rachit and his Team Now it is amazing that we’re getting to talk to someone like this, but the Best thing about him is that he started out not after he went through a lot of Courses He started out first when he was an engineering student and he was in Charge of a battle of the bands event in his college and he wanted to promote it.
And he used Facebook and social media management practices to do it, which makes it very, very interesting and I’m sure, you’re very interested to find out how He started out So guys join me in saying Hello, Rachit, Hey Disha. What’s up How Are you doing I’m doing great? How are you doing I’m keeping well? Thank you. Okay, so thank you so much for joining us today. It’s great to have you here, The Pleasure is mine Disha.
I know it is Rachit. I know it is Anyway, I’m going to get straight to the first question, So I Know that you don’t have a background in marketing, You are an engineer by Profession and yet you choose social media marketing as a career. So what Exactly influenced you to choose it as a career or get into the field of social Media Well, first and foremost, I, like I like people I like dealing with people, And I’m very fond of technology and along the way, I think I like being Backstage working on a product or service and seeing it come to life, and I Think, somewhere along the way, you know a bridge between technology, people and Marketing got me into digital marketing.
We you Know the story about you, starting out your first gig as a social media. Marketer was when you were handling battle of the bands. Can you Tell me something about that Yeah, so I think it was. It was about six.. Six years. Ago I think it was my fourth year in college, the third or fourth year in College – I don’t remember, but I was actually made to organize an event. Called the Battle of the Bands, You know the logistics, putting it together and Also, the marketing and we were tight at tight with budgets back then right and We wanted to see how we could make do with the resources in the best possible Way – and I remember back then about six years ago, I spent like a hundred or 200 Rupees on on Facebook Ads – and you know I saw some numbers come up, so I think that Was a curious start into digital? For me, That’s really good to know, and I’m glad that you started out that Way, it’s a fun story to tell as well.
You spent a lot of time learning digital Marketing and social media marketing, so can you tell us what? How exactly did you Learn the tools and develop the skills to become a social media, marketer Well, To learn courses, there are multiple courses available online, Free and paid Depending on what you want to go for it depending, if you have a budget or not, I Think going through those courses and actually applying it and working on A portfolio because that makes a big difference.
Fortunately, for me, I reached Out to a couple of friends who were starting out their own businesses and Also people who had taken up to their family businesses So that way for me, I Got a chance to experiment and explore and try out whatever I was Learning on these different, you know these different businesses and that Became my portfolio right, It would be difficult for me to go. Get a client Because I would not have any credibility, but this way you know I was doing as Much as you know, these people got their work done at no cost or probably free It was actually a bigger favor for me to have a portfolio to present to people.
Beyond that, Let me ask you a more basic question: Because a lot of people don’t really know what a portfolio is and how Important it actually is, so if you can tell us what a portfolio is and how Exactly you built your portfolio a little more specifically, if you could Do that for us All right, so a portfolio could be very specific based On which vertical of digital marketing you want to go to because, like I said, Digital marketing is a large, you know it’s a large field, it has its own Verticals within it, You could be a person specializing in Facebook ads in Search engine optimization in affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, You Could also be building websites in general, which is your basic web Development right – and it depends where you want to showcase your, how you want to showcase your portfolio but, more importantly, where a portfolio Stands out is if you are able to showcase how you were able to present or You know showcase a growth of a business.
You associated a partner with from point A to point B during the time you are, you know you helped and worked on it. Right so that gives a better vision or sense of better standard for people. Wanting to understand what a portfolio is supposed to look like, So just to simplify, basically a portfolio, is you know your practice? It’s like a practice pitch. You create a lot Of things based on your experience and then you have it to show for your Clients in the future right Yeah best practice, because also you need to show The right kind of portfolio going forward, For example, if I have a Portfolio, for example, of of ten different kinds of businesses and if two Or three of them could be portfolios of real estate and, if I’m not too keen on Working on the real estate side, although I might have worked on it, it’s not Something I’d necessarily want to show as my portfolio, So I’ve heard that you Went to a lot of friends when you started out to get their portfolio, I mean to build your portfolio, you kind of went to them and asked if you could do Their website is that true Yeah, it worked both ways.
They said: “, hey, you’re, Doing this, your jobless, why don’t you do this?”? I said “, Yeah, great” and also I requested People, if I could try out what I was learning on their Businesses, because I was also certain that it was going to work and also it It didn’t come to all these people at a cost, so they were willing to Experiment also, So it was a win-win situation. Both ways.So portfolio is really really important when you are starting out as a social media marketer.
Yes, it goes. It holds much higher weightage than any certifications you get online. They don’t Matter: Okay, so now you’ve been in the industry for a while. Now can you tell me How long it actually takes for a freelancer to make money out of working As social media marketer as a freelance Well honestly, since I got into Digital marketing, my first three months, I think, was a lot of learning on pure Basics and it and I kept learning I I started taking projects three months.
I Mean three months into the learning phase. So if you ask me, I think I Actually started, you know making my first buck as a freelancer, probably five Months after I began my learning process, It could have begun earlier too, and This is something I would like to share you. I don’t think anyone needs to be in A hurry to earn that quick buck, because the way I look at it there are enough Businesses around us, everybody needs marketing, it’s not a big deal.
If you go Out there and actually get a client, I mean it’s really nice, but you know it’s Not too difficult What actually matters is getting the right kind of client by Showcasing the right kind of work. So if you actually end up working on yourself, Understanding tools and processes better in digital and are able to build your Portfolio well and then go and get a client that that would be a normal flow.
But if you ask me six months, I think it took me six months. I could have done it. Earlier I just chose not to That’s nice, but for people who are looking for something more specific. How much would someone with your experience make in a month just to be just to know how much that would be Sure as a freelancer, you know You can a freelancer can bill a client or a brand at you know: 20,000 Rupees a Month to 50,000 Rupees a month, even a lakh, a Month, so it depends on how much work you can handle if you can Handle two or three clients who are paying you about 40,000 Rupees a month.
Yeah, you can learn about a lakh and 40,000 Rupees a month as a freelancer, but then Again, you know, being a freelancer. Has your pros and cons, I mean you’re, a Single man team, which is going to be difficult because you can’t you know Take days off you’re going to be, you can’t handle the crisis of three Clients at the same time, so it has its pros and cons, but yeah I mean it. Depends on the individual, so anything between like say, even if you charge Three different clients: ten thousand rupees each.
You can start with at least At a thirty thousand rupees a month, So as a freelancer, you can make 30,000 a month. That’s really good! Ok, so now to get into something more Serious Now, once you developed the tools and you developed the skills to be a Social media marketer. How? And where did you find the clients? Because you know They’re not like sitting there waiting for you. How did you find your clients To be honest, with you most of my clients, I found that at a party My First client I found out at the bar quite literally and most of them, but When that that’s quite true right, I think for me personally, personal Connections has worked a lot because if you’ve done work for somebody and you Know, there’s a very and if they’re happy, there’s a very high chance that they Will refer you to their peers in their network because again, if you refer Someone good you know it’s a pat on the back as well right, because a good Referral goes a long way.
Apart from that, I did. I did use different Facebook Groups I mean everyone should be aware that every city town has some localized Facebook group or the other right where people are probably wanting something to Sell wanting a service or wanting help or whatever Every city has it a Bangalore has it Bombay, has it Bangalore, has even more localized groups for every Area like in Indranagar will have their own groups right so tapping into these Groups and not selling your products right, You want to be offering value.
People will post a question or a problem on their group. Go there help them out. Get on a call with them solve that problem. For them you never Know I mean if you manage to build a trust which I think, for me at least, has Been the biggest in a factor, because if you, if you give someone value, they are Able to trust you and they would like to work with you in the long run and then Referrals come So word of mouth is the best way to you know to get across your clients, but to make a start, you have a lot of Facebook groups that you know where People inquire and also there are there are freelance platforms: upwork.
Com Freelancer.Com are platforms, they are very competitive. You need to be, you know, Good at closing your deal to be able to get your projects on on these platforms. Because it’s a bidding, it’s a bidding way. It’s a way. You bid for a particular Project and at the same time, it is how you communicate to them to actually land Your gig, so these things matter on on platforms like this, but why I choose to Prefer, like you know, a Facebook group over and up work personally, and this is What’s worked for me is because, if I, if I establish a connection over a Facebook, Group – I don’t know it’s just that I feel there’s a friendly approach already, if Someone’s on Upwork or on freelancer.
Com, the chances of them There, on that platform for a one-time, gig is very high right On any of the Other blogs, you could look at having associating on a longer period of time. But it’s not entirely true, because you know what if I I recently did a gig on Upwork where the client said: hey, listen, I’m calling you the next time. I’r Launching this, so you know it depends on your rapport with the client Okay, so I guess, like you know, it was very interesting that you said that you Started with you know, socializing with people and that’s how you found your Clients – but I guess now, with the lockdown pandemic social distancing, that would Be impossible, So the best bet would be Facebook groups and freelancing websites & job sites, like you said, so that’s really helpful.
Thank you and The next question I have for you is, you know: a lot of people say that having a Mentor in a certain industry that you’re entering having a mentor is a Great thing, because they’ll help you, because they have experience in that Field, so do you think that having a mentor is you know, is required for Someone who’s starting out. It’s a tricky question. I can speak for myself. I don’t think it’s important to have a mentor.
I don’t think it’s important to Be confined to one person for all your advice and needs. I think it’s important To have an open mind, get your information and resources and You know advice from different people, irrespective of the kind of expertise or Industry they come from because you never know where you can find value and Pickup some information and work on it. Having said that, I do come across you.
Know I mean I’m sure we all do come across times where we, you know, we Glorify a certain personality or a person, and we are enamored by the kind Of work they do, and you know we go crazy about that. Right and it’s normal to feel that way, and I feel that too, at times with Certain people and the point is I’m aware of it, and I also choose not to be Attached to that – and I think that’s important Literally a few days ago, I was Sitting with a eight-year-old, you know helping the eight-year-old on on Something on the computer on a tool and that eight-year-old taught me a tool.
I Was really searching for on the internet for a long time right and specifically For my system requirements and I said wow thank you, you made my life a lot. Easier right, So I think anyone who can give you some kind of direction. Irrespective of who they are where they’re from they are your mentor, but Don’t restrict to one That is the best thing I have heard today. I think that we can learn Anything and everything from the people we meet from the books, we read whatever and everything and that’s really good advice.
So you know the life of a Freelancer is really glorified on social media. You know how they tell you that You know you can sit by the beach and you know you have Your laptop and you can work, and you have couples traveling the world and making Money as freelancers, so I just want to know what is the reality behind this What is your experience been like as a freelancer About working and sipping Margaritas by the beach Did you do that I have, but then you know it’s One day in your life, you’re, probably one day in your year, I mean it’s not every Day I mean you have to work, you have to be realistic.
You have to be practical, Right Yeah, there have been a few days like that and I can count the number of Days or probably 2 or 3 days in the entire yeah, but but no you know Especially the freelancer life is over-glorified on Instagram. It is I mean there are two sides: there are true and false sides to it. You have your freedom, So you can literally do what you want. Yes, but the whole flashy cars and you Know big pools the spontaneous traveling, I think a lot of it isn’t actually what It is, I do know, a couple of people who lead such lives and are very good at it.
But I also do know that a majority of people, you know, don’t actually lead Lives like that, so if you ask me, Instagram is Instagram because it’s Supposed to look good people put out their best pictures, That’s very true, okay, so now that we know what your opinion is on that, can you tell me what a day in the life of a social media marketer is a day in your life A day in My life yeah, I mean it’s, I mean just like every other job has its Own challenges and is probably hectic in its own way for us, it’s a lot of screen.
Time right I mean it’s a lot of phone times, a lot of communication and all of That, especially if you’re working on a brand where things are being launched, Posts need to be live, ads need to be live, there’s a lot of coordination and Communication right, so I begin my day by you know literally going over my tasks. Lists and things I need to be done. Normally, I have a preset set of calls. That I have scheduled for the day, which I have to Take make and that’s normally set over the weekend.
I make sure I set my calls. Ahead but then, during the rest of the time, it’s making sure things are going. All right finances are in check, clients are happy, marketing strategies are in Place coordinating with the team and every day is this probably something new A new problem to solve so there’s no definite way how the day goes. But yeah, that’s in a nutshell: that’s how it is, But you enjoy this life that you’re leading as a social media marketer I do I enjoy.
There is some method in the madness here Nice. So is there any book or you know, Resource you would recommend for someone who’s, starting out as a social media. Marketer, because I myself am very interested in the topic. And if I want to Learn usually I pick up a book or two to read about it. I am better with reading books, so is there any book or resource you would recommend You know for a person Starting out on social media and digital marketing, books are a great point to go.
For if you want to understand something in principle, the only way the only Reason is because I feel oh, and this is what I genuinely feel Digital is so dynamic, and technology updates itself so fast that if someone Has to write something down: publish a book. Go for printing, get it on the Shelves I mean that’s a lot of time. Things are redundant, they Are not updated anymore right, so I think, on the Digital side, I personally read a lot of blogs.
I read at least a minimum of 5 to 10 blogs. Every day – and I have to I read from marketing land from social media today, From social media marketing world from SEM Rush has a couple of nice blogs. Written Neil Patel writes nice stuff. Of course everyone knows These are Some of the blogs, because blogs are written more spontaneously and updated Then and there so as opposed to books Books have that principle defined.
I am But if you want to something that you want something, that’s updated, I guess Podcasts or blogs are more up-to-date. Is there any podcast that you listen to? You know religiously, I’m a person that gets bored too Quickly, I need to consume information too, and keep moving over there’s One there’s business voice is a nice podcast, but of course it’s more the business Side of things There’s an interesting podcast by Sean Ellis.
The person who Wrote who wrote the book Hacking Growth? Oh by the way you asked about the book. You asked for books right, so here’s a book called hacking growth by Sean Ellis Which is which is nice Sean has also also has a podcast, I’m not sure what It’s called, I think we can figure it out and we can put it here by But it’s it’s! It’s it’s! It’s a podcast by Sean Ellis and that’s really. Interesting for those looking at scaling startups understanding how the process The behind the stage and the behind the scenes of scaling and growing these Businesses, so that’s that’s an interesting one.
I I’m not getting the Name but yeah, I’m sure we can plug this. I will find it and I will link it here in the article, so they can go and hear the podcast Okay. So now, looking at the scenario you have had experience in this field, based on your experience and the current Scenario, what advice would you give someone who would like to start out as a Social media marketer Still a great time. There are enough businesses that are out There needing these services so yeah, it’s a great time to be getting into Social media, marketing or digital marketing any of these verticals – I don’t Think the person should look at you know making a quick buck, because there’s no Shortcut to it, Learning the tools, well, understanding them.
Experimenting, you know that that’s that’s a process. Someone needs to look Into a look into, and not look at one of these, how do you become a millionaire Overnight schemes, that’s not you, so you know, keep growing I mean, I don’t think, there’s anyone who’s an expert in this field. The industry is so dynamic, there’s so much to learn so yeah, I’m just you know. Adding this to it, what advice would you give your younger self? So when you Started out, if you know, based on whatever you have learned so far, is there Anything you would go back and tell your younger self, you know advice, you would Give your younger self basically! So it depends.
This question: are you asking me Before I did engineering after I did engineering Coz its two different answers, Say after you did Engineering After I did engineering. So after I did Engineering I applied with the two companies. Actually I applied with the Minimalist from Bombay I applied with Facebook, Singapore, Both of which I I got To quite a decent part of the interview I think, for Facebook it was the top Something thirty or something like that for the Singapore role and I think for Minimalist was the reason why I made my first trip to to Mumbai in the first Place – and we had an – I had an interview, I think, with Chirag of minimalist at that Time, I think my objective was to to find a job if I was going to be associated With companies with good visions – and you know, were here for the long run, Otherwise, I would want to choose a freelance route or an agency route that Was my objective? So if I had to do anything differently, that’s going to be Hard because I don’t think I couldn’t I would do it, I’m happy with the way we Are progressing Of course, my there are more micro level decisions.
I would have made differently. Probably I would not have signed off for signed off on certain clients. I would Not have taken on certain work because a lot of clients can slow you down. You Know and hamper your growth so that way, I think I would have avoided certain Certain clients, So now for those who are listening and reading right now, if you could give a few steps to start out as a social media marketer that would make it easy for them to transition and to get into the industry.
What would Those steps be The first first step is to learn, learn, study some courses, There enough courses, free courses online – you can put yourself through a paid Course or you could do a free course, but but then it depends on you know if you Have the bandwidth to go through a structured course and if it suits Your budget, that’s that’s a route you can take If you and soon after doing This course, or while you’re doing this course, it’s important to at least get Yourself, two clients or two prospects, or you know your uncle’s father’s friends.
Business and work on it experiment on it, so you can learn while you’re. You know, While you’re working on it, because you don’t want to be Experimenting on a person who has just given you a business and paid you and You know goof it up right If you do it well, that’s a different case, but you Know, that’s you would want to not. You would not want to get into that kind of A situation Once you finish your learning process finish your portfolio.
Building process and then decide if you want to get into a job, freelance or Start your own business, Each of them have a beautiful career path and you Know and they’re each nice in their own way. It depends if you want to work with An agency or if you want to work with a brand, if you want to freelance yourself Or if you want to build a team together and offer the same services to other People or if you have a product in mind and if you understand digital marketing, You can always sell that product using these skills right, but then you know it Again, I’m going I’m just going back to the first point of having to learn while There are so many courses paid courses out there, it’s not necessary to actually Buy a paid course there’s enough resources for free and, having said that, I mean I mean, and this is despite saying that, because we have our own course too- And and and we follow a very structured approach of how A person can learn Facebook and Instagram ads effectively and also we Teach them how and where to get clients, and you know about proposals and all of That right, So it depends what you want at the end of the day and how well you Are determined to be learning, and that would that that would be a decent start.
Saying, that your course that you launched recently in that course you’re. Basically sharing All of these things that you learnt over the years and you’re making it easy for The people who want to learn so that they can apply it very easily Yeah completely Because I didn’t know a lot of things, I didn’t work at an agency. I didn’t work. I Didn’t have a freelancer to guide me. I figured it out myself.
I compared Business models with other business models, with brands with with the Marketers, I I learned from a lot of different marketers, because one thing in Digital marketing people need to understand, is it’s okay, Learning a digital learning, digital marketing from a course from an Institute because they are teaching your basics, they’re teaching your Fundamentals, but when you learn from another marketer and I’m not just Putting myself on a pedestal, yeah, I’m just generally giving you my perspective.
If you learn from a marketer, you get a different point of view because It’s it’s at the end of the day, the job is very similar to like say a doctor. Right, If you and I have the same illness and we go to two different doctors – those Two doc doctors are going to have a different approach and give it and start And give us different prescriptions right and it’s the same thing with Marketing as well, you might have your approach and I might have my approach.
And they can be completely different and it’s okay to be completely different. But At the end of the day, you want to be learning from people who have tried. Tested those you know the and have tried, tested methods and learn from them. So Which is why I mean we are putting, in a few case, studies we’re putting in examples we’re telling people what to do, what not to do and also tell them what they can do.
Beyond learning it like how they can find a living for themselves, So whoever is reading right now, if you want to know more about Rachit’s course, we will be linking it below in The description, so you can definitely check it out, So I guess Rachit that would be the end of you know the questions that I have for now. I have too many of Them, but I’m still restricted to that much now. Thank you. So much You’ve been amazing.
The advice you gave is very practical and I know that it’s going to Help people who want to start out so thank you so much for doing this. Thank You for taking the time out and joining us on Alter Answers. Thank you, Disha. I was happy answering all these questions. I wish you guys all the best you guys Are doing some really nice stuff? Thank you so much Talk to you soon, then Byee
She has a question about. She wants to know what ways that a her photography business and her writing business can benefit from YouTube marketing. Well, I looked at jen’s website here and jen. I’r looking at yours, your website looks great, very visually, appealing with the the very you know of the the big picture on the first on the homepage.
When I went to your blog, I found I found this, which is good. I mean you got ta get a good blog. You got some great content here. Great pictures, one thing that’s missing is there’s no articles that are embedded here on your at least not that I can see. That would definitely help some of your search engine optimization, and the other thing is: is that specifically how how can the web? How can article helped you for your photography? That’s one way is to specifically create articles that are targeting your keywords and that’s why I have this page pulled up right here.
I went to the google keyword tool. I just went to google and I typed in google keyword, tool and right at the top is, is a link to this page and you can see I typed in photographer palm beach gardens and not a whole lot of searches. But you can see here photographers west palm beach. You can see fatah palm beach, photography, 110, there’s 140 110 searches per month for that keyword, palm beach, photographer 46 searches per month, photography west palm beach, 73 wedding photography palm beach 58.
These are all and mind you when I mean you got ta. Look at this when, when these keywords have the the brackets around, and that means that that that number of people are actually typing in that those exact keywords in that order in Google every single month. So those are all potential customers, every single one of those, but the only way you’re going to reach them is, if you use proper, on-page optimization with your blog, and so what I’m suggesting is that you want to incorporate those keywords in your title tag in your Content in your your tags down here and really you wan na, you want to use those key words on the page, and you also want to create a article that targets.
Those keywords also, you want to use the keyword in the title in the description that you’re that you’re creating. So you want to use the keyword, for example, photographers west palm beach and the title on the description and the tags for the article that you create. The other thing that I was going to suggest is is that, in terms of your your, your writing business is that you create a you’ve, got a great blog post here about a book that you just wrote, and this is the book.
It’s awesome. I the thing that I would do it’s more of like a coffee table book, but what you can do is, first of all, obviously look at the self-publishing article that I created earlier, but in regards to this book, create a article that specifically talks about the behind-the-scenes Aspect of you creating this book, or maybe just review one or two pages this book I mean you – can literally go through step by step all the pages of this book.
You can create a article about every single page if you want to and what came what what made you think of the the picture, how you incorporated the picture into the bit into the into the book, etc. So you can, you can just create all these little vignettes, these a little short minute, two, maybe three minute articles that are talking about how you specifically um you know came up with this content this this book.
If I was a writer of a larger book that had maybe chapters I would, I would talk about a specific chapter in the book and maybe if I wanted people to opt-in to my list or to engage with me, I would maybe give them the that chapter. For free and in order to in exchange for their name and email, and maybe their cell phone number so anyway, those are just some ideas for publishers out there. So I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to talking to you soon – bye, bye, oh and text, your name and email, 256, 1739 2283, and to get access to some more great information like this again. 56. 1739. 2283. Thanks bye, bye,

This is a very nice thick variety. We got. We’ve got a little bit of it before and some of the patches we’ve harvested, but this right here gets you a nice thick gel. This will multiply it very well when you guys big, so you guys got to try this out also, if you want to make a very thick smoothie, you just add this in there and you only need a little handful to make some good, ah gel from that.
So this gives you a lot of return right here: okay, again about to spread this knowledge to you ball, because, first of all, grand rising good morning. It’s a boy, Scott Brown here back with another article, and today’s article is going to be very, very special because I’m going to be talking about a lot of knowledge and giving you guys with them to better your overall healthy lifestyle. Alright, so I’m here for you all and I’m just happy to spread this knowledge to you guys on YouTube and you know, share the articles and supporting me on this journey.
Alright, so let’s talk about it, so this is going to be a article about CMOS, and this is not my first article about CMOS. You already know I love CMOS. You know, though, especially coming from the west indies, jamaican big yourself be done. No Irish moss vamanos. Whatever you want to call it, I’m going to say anything else. If you don’t know about seeing more CMOS has over 90 % essential minerals for the human body.
Can this really go for thyroid and health skin health, hair health increase the sexual drive? You know so you can wrap up some things for both men and women, so increase the natural libido of both men and women. Alright. So it’s a lot of healing properties when it comes to CMOS, but I’ve been in some corruption and as far as the CMOS industry goes – and I want to talk about it, because it’s only right that I give you guys quality content and to talk about things.
Like this all right, so you had two types of CMOS: what crafted CMOS, which is crafted from mother nature now tempered by man whatsoever, you know, will let mother nature run its course. What practice emotions is high quality. Then you have farm CMOS which in is part in a pool, a pool where you go swimming and things like that. It’s what I’m going to pull, which is definitely tempered by man, not wobbly, crafted at all.
So this is a very low policy of CMOS and with it becoming low quality, it increases the quantity because it’s a lot of CMOS out there on the market. Alright. So today’s article is all about telling the difference and let you guys know the information between wildcraft, the CMOS and farm CMOS, the riddle versus the fake high quality versus low party. I really feel like it’s very important, to show you this information right because we’re always here to learn and to teach one another.
So without further ado, let’s sit down and let’s have a conversation about it. Let’s go I’m a people. So now we are stealing and let’s have a conversation. So, first of all, as you can see, I have two types of CMOS have two types of CMOS. I have one half the CMOS and then I have farmed CMOS, and the most important thing is that you want to access of these three questions. Where do you get your CMOS from the quality of the CMOS and the characteristics of the CMOS? So this article I’m going to break it down step by step, alright, so the first one we want to tackle this way in your CMOS, because you can see most for dirt cheap on Amazon, from Alibaba from all the types of things.
Alright, all types of different websites – you can get it dirt cheap and for us we’re looking at quality over quantity, you can get CMOS and one of those health food stores. You know, and the most important thing you have. The eyes is where you getting the signal. Strong, if you ask some clerk like hey, you know where’s, the steam was coming from and you can’t answer it or give you a straight answer.
Then most likely it is fun. Alright. So there’s no like direct origin from anything that just must have got it. For my third-party distributor and say alright, let’s tell it, but then you have people who you ask these questions to, especially if you go to like finally, an echo. If you check them out on Instagram, you can actually see them going into the ocean. The fresh piracy laws we’re driving for he just came out.
You know about Iran daddy thing to get mother. They just get with the CMOS, so they’re actually going out there and getting it Wild Wild Kratts, CMOS, there’s not being tampered by men or not being in a pool in this unnatural habitat all right. So, while crafted definitely higher quality, so access stuff – where are you getting your CMOS from? Are you getting it for much on the trusted provider or you get it from somebody that you know that has accountability somebody’s going to tell the truth or just somebody that wants to make a quick buck off for you all right, so we’re all about quality over Quantity episode where you get your CMOS, so the second thing that you need to understand we’re telling the difference between wild crafted and form CMOS is to correct the risks of the sequence.
Now, as you can see here this, this is to Tennessee. What’s on my table right and I have said before, crap one is well crafted and one is fine. Now, while crafted CMOS, it’s dry, it looks like thin, very thin, noodles, very thin, noodles and also not so much salt on it bare minimum. The great ancestor doctor say she also said that Seymour shouldn’t have that much salt on it. Little to no salts. All right now see right here, I’m going to do a close-up, don’t worry, you got ta, see it and then right here I got this.
So this is what it is. I got ta see most fun fighter beginning and then this thing was right here I got from a local store, I’m not going to name a store, but I got from the local store. So with this theme, was it’s highly salted highly highly salted? Now that tells me that this is a farm crack, the CMAs because of the highest salt content, most likely they put on a higher dinosaur to preserve it, and this is definitely not Mother Nature way of doing things.
This is definitely you don’t touch my men and you can just tell by the characteristics of it. So that’s something that you need to arm also access off and also wonder about now. The third thing is the actual buildup of the sea. Bumps. Now I’m going back to how the sea must look, there’s many different species of sea moss itself but, like I said before, were crafted barely any salt on it, and also you could look at it.
It’s very thin. It’s very thin. It doesn’t have that salty sea smell it’s because it’s drying out signals are supposed to be dried out. Alright. Now here, which is the farmed, the farm CMOS it’s very thick if it looks like the CMOS, is very unusually thick, then most likely its form CMOS and also going back to the high salt content. It should not be as salty at all. I know it comes from the sea, but most people they try to provide that salt to preserve it.
So you want to stay away from farm crafty, CMOS quality of a positive you get in more with walk crafted, because this is letting mother nature, but its course. While this one is being speed up this, this one’s being sped up, people will just want to make some quick money. People do not understand the importance of it. Yes, nine percent essential minerals for the human body, but you want the max amount of minerals for a wrestle like I said, before: quality over quantity and yeah guys.
This is the official guide to understanding wild crafted verses from craft the seamless. Alright. It’s all these three questions where you getting the CMOS the characteristics of the CMOS and the properties of the CMOS, because we only want the best and the best for our people. Alright. So, like I said before, if you’re looking for some wild crafted CMOS, please final vegan ENCOM use my cold bernhard 20 did a nice discount.
It’s important stuff brown here great comment like share subscribe and yeah man share this article with somebody who wants to find out the difference between wild crafted versus farm CMOS. Alright, so jump bless pic of yourself.
It’s not something you can do today and you’re going to start Getting traffic tomorrow Right Right, But if you have all this Great content but bad SEO, no one’s going to find it Welcome to The Journey, I’m Nealey And I’m Morgan, And today we’re talking about how to get traffic to your website All right.
So I’ve got this website and I made it all super pretty its got good. Animations, how do we get traffic to it Yeah, so you spent so much Time and you’re pretty bummed that no one’s finding your website Well, the first thing you Need to do is you need to put content on your website? So if you don’t have articles, if you don’t have a Reason for people to be continually coming to your website. You need to give’em a reason So start publishing content regularly Start a blog.
It’s the Easiest thing that you can do You can post whatever cadence you want, whether its once a week twice a week three times a week, four Five six times a week, I don’t know You pick what works for you and just start putting content out there. Then people will start finding it and then subscribing and Coming back and back again, All right and as a bonus, we actually dove pretty deep into content creation.
And content marketing We’ll throw the link right over there, But talking about the cadence and series, how do we really keep things? Organized and consistent Easiest thing you can do is create a content calendar, Its a place where you Can put all of your post and all of your ideas in one Place and then you can see,’Okay. I need to write these 10 articles and they’re going to post on these days..’ Perfect.
So we have the Content created Content is king Now, should it just live on the website? What else should we do with That content to build traffic, So the easiest thing that you can do is once you already have tons of content is: go, publish it everywhere Everywhere. Everywhere So, for example, if I have a blog post and I took great photographs and its five tips on how To be awesome, you know I should show the world on Other places on YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Hey.
Maybe I should share those five tips on those other places because I have followers. There are lots of people out there that don’t just follow you on your blog, So you need to get that content out. There’s people on Pinterest Who don’t even know you exist? So you need to make sure you create a nice little Pinterest banner and it links back to your website, because people will be Searching and they’ll find you and they’ll become one of your New followers and readers – I like that, So that’s super important.
You create a banner for Pinterest and you create a you repurpose that content for Instagram, don’t just copy paste. It everywhere right, You have to make it for that platform Like Twitter, keep it super. Simple super short Instagram Include one of the tips. Imagery is everything Especially the five photos Right Make sure its for that audience.,’Cause they’re there for a reason Like if I’m on Instagram, I want to see imageries And things like that, I don’t want.
I don’t want to see text Yep For YouTube. You Basically, have a script already written with That piece of content so just get in front of the camera and share those five tips and publish to the YouTube world There. It is, And then you put little Micro-Content everywhere else on YouTube and then back to your website, just repurpose its like a circle Just be everywhere and share Yep Share it all All right, so we’re repurposing content, we’re putting on social we’re, putting it on our website, putting it where our followers are.
But what we haven’t brought Up is email marketing. Now a lot of people say ‘Email marketing is dead, don’t use it its in the Past everything’s, social.’: What’s the value behind email, marketing, First and foremost, people who are saying Email marketing is dead, NO, NO, NO Email marketing is still alive and well The great thing about email marketing, its really one of the only Places where the algorithm, like all these algorithms out There that hide your content and make it so people who Are supposedly following you can’t find it You own that list, And so, when you send an email, They will see your email, So that’s a great way to get your content in front of eyeballs of People who indicated like literally they’ve, signed Up to follow updates from you, So in email, marketing, there’s lots of different Things that you can do You can do a newsletter.
You can just anytime, you post, you automatically Send an email to anyone Whatever you want, just go and get in front of Your audience through email, What are some of your Favorite newsletters Like go check your inbox Right now and just look: Are you following businesses and there’s a reason and What a super great point is you don’t always read those messages Right right, But you still see that brand constantly Yep Right, keeping that awareness going When they see that email from you sometimes they’re, going to click they’re going to go back to your website and that’s Going to increase Traffic to your website, And just to add on to that, we talked about it in earlier articles, not to’sell, sell, sell.
‘, You Want to’tell tell tell.’ And when you’re creating your Email marketing newsletter – you want it to add value, Whether its your blog post or content, Don’t always be an offer to buy this.’cause you’re going to get Just unsubscribed immediately, So what are some other Options that we can do to help build traffic to our site Yeah, so we’ve done a ton. We’ve built our own content. We’ve shared our content on All of our social blogs and all these different places we’ve gone to our email list Now its time to go to Other people’s website Out into the wild, Yes, The wild wild west of sites that you do not own yourselves, So you don’t control It called Guest Posts, So basically we know how Hard creating content is its time consuming.
You have to edit it. You have to draft. You have to Come up with all these ideas and you’re an expert And maybe you’ve already Written about the things that you’re an expert About so many times over, Your audience knows that, but maybe someone else’s Audience would benefit from learning from you, So Guest Blogging is Going to someone else, maybe in your niche or a Different niche and saying “ Hey.
I would like to write An article for your audience, Here’s what I was thinking.” And what that does. Is you Create very useful content, And then the most important is that, somewhere in your bio or in that article, you have a link back to your website, So that these new readers can find you and then go to your website visit and follow you from there. Not only that that also Build back links right Yep, So that helps your SEO.
Increases the traffic, which is what this article is about – That’s perfect because That ties into SEO Getting more traffic to your site. It means appearing on search engines. So if you aren’t even Appearing on the first page, your basically dead, No one goes past. The first Search page of google or any of the search engines, So you need to work on your SEO, which is your Search Engine Optimization, So that way, people when they’re searching for your keywords or your products or services that you show up and they visit your site.
We actually just did a Article all about this, You can check it out right here. All the basics of SEO SEO is so big, make sure To check out that article, But if you have all this Great content but bad SEO: no one’s going to find it. So you really work on your Seo to increase your traffic Right And what really Helped me understand, backlinks and something that I deal with a lot is you can think of backlinks Almost as like followers or like on your post on Instagram or wherever else, The more likes you get, the More people are going to see it, So those backlinks are Just “ likes” for your website, So SEO takes a ton of time right.
It’s not something you can do today and you’re going to start Getting traffic tomorrow, [ Morgan ] Right right. What are some things that, if we need that instant gratification like’, I’m a millennial, I need to see it now.’. What are some things I can do. To get that instant traffic Yep, Like you said, SEO, is building a Relationship with Google, So it does take time. It’s Like we’re dating Google, You have to take them on all these dates month after month week after week, and so it really does Take six or 12 months to really have very Very strong SEO results if you’re consistently Putting in the efforts, But if you need traffic now there are things that you Can do right now to get.
.. Right, meow Right now To get the Traffic that you need Its called’Ads.’ So ads on search engines are an easy way to have your website pop up on the top of the search results, But the problem with it Is that its pay to play? So if I have a $ 1000 ad budget, every time that someone clicks that ad it gets subtracted from my budget And eventually whatever the rate is when by budget’s gone, my website,,’Poof.
‘, It no longer appears on the search result, But ads do work. We love Google, That’s why we use it Every single day, Multiple times per day, So people love Google And they do trust the ads. So if you need people to Buy your products right now, you might want to look Into a PPC campaign to get that traffic Right, That Pay-Per-Click and Google’s not the Only place you can do it, I’m sure you’ve scrolled on Facebook or on Instagram or Twitter and you’ve seen the ads there too, Like you need to be Where your audience is Like Google’s, probably the most relevant,’cause people are searching.
For those exact terms, so you’re going to get that instant click, But its part of the brand awareness and just random clicks to the site, those social media platforms, Are probably pretty good, too Yep, Speaking of social ads, social ads can be very targeted because they know everything About your demographics, what you like, what you don’t like! It’s a bit scary, All right! So we’re Doing all these things to build traffic to our website, but how do we know what’s working Analytics? So if you do not have Google Analytics installed on your website.
You need to stop and go Install it right now, Because it has so much information about who is visiting your website when they’re visiting your website, how long what pages they’re visiting when they’re leaving Its so much information, and it will help you understand. Which of your articles that you spent so much time creating are getting the most traffic Where they’re, coming from What search terms, people are searching to find those articles And so you’ll be able to see very quickly what are your top performers and what are your duds? So you can stop working on the Things that aren’t working And building more content that people are actually searching for So Google analytics you could do a whole article.
Just on that There’s master courses – Just on Google analytics, But even just having The basic installation will give you enough information, so you can continue building content that your audience wants. Which will bring more traffic And then to add on that. I probably recommend setting Up, Google webmaster tools Just so you can see where your organic search Traffic is coming from. You can see the search terms.
How often people are viewing It they’re clicking it Things like that kind of piggy backs on That Google analytics Yep All right guys. I hope this Article was helpful for you and that you have actionable Tips that you can start today to start increasing Traffic to your website, I’m curious. Let me know In the comments below What is one thing, you’re Going to start doing, Are you going to build content? Work on an email list, let me know, I know what I’m doing.
Creating article content, Nice Awesome, Make sure You like and subscribe and ring the bell, if you wan na see when our next articles are Coming so you get it first, This has been The Journey Signing off.
The automotive conference for automotive professionals that want to build more be more, do more we’re about to hop over to the roundtable sessions where I’m going to be sitting with 20 or 30 guys and going off for about 20 minutes on social media marketing.
How they can build their brand grow, their business, get more customers, build their social media presence and ultimately make more money. So I’m going to hop over to that now we’re going to have some clips of the different conversations, the lessons the things I was teaching. So, let’s check it out and join today we’re going to cover some fun stuff, so I’m going to keep it basic. I want to have you guys, get the opportunity to discuss stuff, so I’m going to throw things out there we’re going to go over the secret content formula? Okay.
So this is the basic understanding of like ever. Have that moment where you go, what should we be? Posting on social media, like I’m, trying to post up it’s not working, no one responds. Should I post my car, should I post my customers sure what do I actually post? Well, there’s a really simple formula that breaks it down to two categories: we’re going to cover that the other thing we’re going to do is a simple paid advertising strategy.
So I’m going to go through what we do. So I own a social media marketing agency. We work with top brands, including OEM Zak, Honda, Canada, Suzuki, Canada, some of the big guys, hundreds thousands of dealerships. We also work with other brands, not just automotive, but I’m going to teach you what we do with them. That can also be applied to a lot of small businesses that we work with, which is a very simple way to think about Facebook Ads.
It’s not complicated, it’s not crazy algorithms, and if you guys ever want to try advertising, you can use this method. Then I’m going to cover how to use Instagram and Facebook DM the way. I use it again, very, very simple, not just about outreach but there’s simple things that no one’s doing that really up your sales. We’re going to go over that, so we’re going to cover all three of those I’m going to start with the secret content formula.
You guys ready! Okay, what’s the biggest problem when you go to post content on social media, what do you guys post? I want to see some answers. What do you think is the right thing to be posted delivery photos what else yeah? What else yeah? What would you say, everything everything, hopefully not naked pictures, those those are private, what else anything else? Okay, how do you guys decide what to post? Is there any logic there, like anyone, have a theory or like why? Why do you post don’t post business every day like don’t, do delivery? Okay, okay, what I was, what doesn’t be heard rather, myths have.
We heard offers offers offers offers ok, ok, yeah yeah yeah, I’m familiar with GC what else yeah yeah, but when we read do you see what he does? Is he always making offers sort of? But how much do you see about entertainment, how much behind the scenes? How much with his wife, how much him having fun how much him! So here it’s right! So let me ask you this: what shows are most successful on TV? We see these either right the show it’s either massive education or information like shark tank, like it’s fun, you’re alert or it’s drama.
It’s entertainment, it’s the Kardashians. I don’t read the show, but a lot of people read keeping able to Kardashians right. Why? Here’s? What I’m eating here’s, who I’m mad at here’s, what my mom did: here’s, what my sister did and people tune into that shit because naturally we’re wired for two things: entertainment or education. So I want you guys to ask yourself next time, you’re going to post something ask yourself when you go on social media.
What are you there for there’s two reasons all you get to do. Is this ask yourself when you go on social media? What are you going for? Are you looking for promotion? Are you looking for a deal you’re on the toilet, you’re on the car you’re like in a socially awkward situation, you’re opening your phone? It’s like: how can I kill a minute there’s only two reasons you go to social media, everybody does this entertainment or education.
You want a quick laughs. You want a funny meme you want to, or you want to learn something. You see something very valuable. It’ll shit. That’s cool I’m going to try that that’s the only two reasons, but for some reason most people make content. Don’t think about that they’re doing promotion they’re doing what do they want to see? What do they like? What makes them look good, but no one else is going to see that so you’re putting out content that no one cares about, and that’s why the engagements not there does that make sense.
So what are some examples that I mean entertainment is make them laugh, make them cry make them feel something think of a TV show. Think of the Kardashians write Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Why do so many people used to read that show it’s just literally, my sister did this. My uncle did this I’m so mad at this person he was with my brother, it’s bullshit, but it’s entertainment right. So you got to think.
How do you tell stories? How do you get people to laugh? How do you get people to cry? Don’t just, for example, if you’re going to do a delivery, don’t say here’s John! He bought a second car with me. So happen happens a customer thanks. So much John tell the story. Who’s. John, you know see in Vietnam: did he come here? Have a four-hour Roadtrip like what’s with his family, which, with his wife, is his father? The president, like give the story behind John and what got him here and where he came from the more drama.
The better right, like John just left, his sixth wife and he’s got some money in the bank and he’s trying to get a new Corvette. I’r going to get him on the road pick up a seven like make it fun, make it real. That’s how you going to approach it at education. The way you approach education is people only really care about three things. Don’t want to learn three things and it’s called kind of like hard knowledge, which is either how to make more money right, how to look better or feel better or how to have more sex swear to God.
That’s the three easiest things that everyone wants to buy. So when you’re teaching, think of that, do they want to know like if you’re going to teach a certain feature of a car or a benefit or something you want to show them? How to do think about? Is it going to save them money? Is it going to make them look better or does it let them have more sex? It’s only made a joke laughs about a minivan like how many girls going to fit in the back like you’re, I’m saying stupid joke, but don’t do that one, but I’m saying make get creative with it right get creative with it.
So what can they do if it’s, if it’s value, this is a feature that you that we can do here’s how much money it’s going to save you, I’m going to show you something that you’re going to say five grand next year. By doing these three things, here’s what they are right, so hard value, hard knowledge, that’s the truth for men or women, it’s money, health or sex right. And if you look at the three biggest industries, what are they? That’s the three so bring that into your social media, marketing all right.
How many of you are using Facebook or Instagram ads right now, yeah one two, three, four: five Instagram ads K: five, six good: let’s bring a ratio. How are you doing it? Are you boosting your posts? What are you doing so you’re boosting guessing game? Yep? Okay, what were you just boosting she broke daily? Okay, got it? No okay, anybody else! I miss okay, yeah, so here’s my theory, 90 % of people when they run ads they go.
I have an offer I want to put in front of a group of people. Yes, it’s targeted yes, they’re, 40 year old, males that, like cats here, show them this car right. That’s called a cold audience. If they don’t know you yet or like you or trust you they’re a cold audience, I no matter what industry never show offers to cold audiences. I only make offers to warm audiences. They need to know me. First, we use a very particular strategy when you’re in advertising.
I’ve done in multiple industries from national brand car brands to local dealerships to Auto groups, and it works like this. Most people think of running an ad basically getting to offer the ad and targeting the audience they want to see that ad right. We don’t. We run first, what’s called awareness ads, so think of these as article ads. There are three to five minutes long. If it’s Instagram, it’s got to be 60 seconds for Facebook, three to five minutes.
It’s pure value, it’s either the entertainment or the education. We run those and optimize them for article views on Facebook. We get a view usually for one cent. One cent of view of a targeted local customer, then what we do is we get. Let’s say, a hundred thousand views in that content. It only cost us 900 bucks a thousand bucks. In most cases, then we retarget all those people with a low level offer.
So what I did for dealerships a lot was we’d give people gift cards to something like Starbucks to come in and just do a test drive, so they put their names or email their number and then the sales guy will call them say hey when you look At test drive, let’s go right and we bring them in. That would be our lead, offer it’s very low barrier, you’re, not asking for money I’ll give you money come in and do something for me and then the last step once we’ve done.
That is, then, we get hard offers. So this is the actual sale in the car. The deal we have running or the promotion coming up so at any one time you have article ads appear that are building rapport right. People are seeing your brand, your name they’re not being sold anything yet, but Facebook tracks that so on the next level, when I hit them with a lead. Gen ad, like I said, like the gift card, I can say only show this to people that have seen twenty five to fifty percent of the first article only show the people that actually suck through and know who I am and then I’m saying the last year.
Here’s an offer only show this to people who opted in for leads who gave us information already. So what you’re doing is you’re bringing your cost down reaching only a warm audience. You’re getting 100 leaves that don’t respond and you’re spending half the cost. So anytime we run this. The average has been we reach twice as many people twice as many leads twice as many sales half the cost half. So that means, if you spent a thousand dollars, you got a thousand leads I’d, spend five hundred and get two thousand leaves it’s a big difference right and the quality is so much warmer because no one’s seeing your offers until they know you right until they’re, ready Until they decide to stick their whole article and you don’t do one in the other, they all happen at the same time.
So constant customers are discovering you reading the articles they go to the bathroom. Come back. Oh, here’s a lead gen, I offer they come to the dealership next day and go back home, there’s an offer on a deal and it just happens in a circle so easier said than done. We talked about in the cations playing a bit, but that’s a strategy. We use so take away from this, because that was a lot advertised to warm traffic.
I know that was very fast but advertised to warm traffic whenever possible. This is a method of warming up traffic. You could also retarget people who, for example, engage with you on Instagram who have lost your articles on Facebook, who have been to your website who have left comments. Who, like your page, whose friends liked your page anytime, you can try to build custom audiences of people who already know you who’s using social media, direct messages, Facebook Instagram all that you yeah yeah, yeah? Okay, how are you guys using it right now? Tell me real quick: what do you do with it? Okay, automation, Chapa? Is it working well yeah, okay, good? What about you, yep, yep, yep yep? So so, and these guys are both massive bucket producers and that’s exactly going to tell you the easiest strategy.
You can do is every single time. Someone likes your post comments, follows you, every single person don’t just ignore and go. I got 20 likes message, every single person personally and telev a thanks. So much for, like. I really appreciate the love hey where you from where you coming from a guy might whatever. If they follow you. Thank you so much for following me. I really appreciate it. I gave you a follow back what you up to when they respond.
To that, send an audio note. Send the article note get more personal. You don’t wan na scare them away at the first touch, but once they make the decision to engage and start the conversation, it opens the door to say: hey, I’m comfortable I’ll, read your article! All! Isn’t your audio no right, because so many people there’s this creepy. Ask people out there right, like if people get an unsuspected article they’re like I’m, not opening that shit right right, especially the girls man, to get her ass with this stuff, like it’s too early, my girlfriend all the time like unread message, like friend, requests from someone And like Somalia and you open it’s a dick pic like and now Instagram warns you of that.
So don’t start with that start with text it’s safe. It brings the barrier down and then, when they decide they’re comfortable article and audio, because that’s where you going to build the bond right cool any questions on that sorry, one specific person for that article, yeah yeah, wait. What do you mean like when you do your irrigation with ablution? Oh, that that’s where, like the app? Yes, I’m so there’s advertising before I’m talking about one offs, one offs a message right to that person yeah so like if you reach out and go well, so it first returned with text and let’s say you say: hey we’re waiting from a brighten, my page or Like I really appreciate the love and then go hey, no problem, I’m from whatever whatever then send them back a article or an audio hey.
That’s super cool, my mom’s from there I’m not going to say make up report, but sometimes it helps if you have to ethically, but if you can, if you can build a bond or report us on in article, but I holy shit like this guy is my Dude right and start the conversation and then see if you can take it from there to a phone call or an appointment, get it off the platform as quickly as possible and bring them in whatever it is like hey, I see five that car for the last Seven years, how much I sell you know them but come in.
We just got this. I know you’re going to like you just drive it. Man like we’re talking with friends, come and check it out, I’m not selling, nothing just come in. Let’s hang out, let’s show you all right, bring them in so you’re trying to go from like engagement, to open a conversation to build rapport and get them off the platform as quickly as possible. Right
I’r going to do a demo this morning on the three, the four steps to do a email campaign within Salesforce. So let me begin by going through quickly going through the steps. There’s four steps to the process. The first step is to generate an email template and then you, the second step, is to create the campaign. The third step is to create the list of the users who you want to include in your campaign, and the fourth step is to do run.
The mass email program against the people in the campaign, so, let’s begin so to create the email template you. First of all, you click on your name over here then click on settings setup, I should say, click on email and then click on my templates. I have two templates right now: I’m going to work on the version for the template, which has a article length so I’ll just click on that template and now, if I scroll down, I can see that there’s an HTML version of the template and there’s also a Plain text version of the template: they’re, both the wording is identical.
It’s the only difference is the plain text does not have any HTML code in it. So if I want to modify the template and make changes to it, I’ve got a couple ways I can edit the HTML version or the text version or I can clone it and give it a new name and then change it. So I’m just going to really quickly here I’ll show you how to edit it I’m not going to making the changes to it, but I will show you how to edit it so click on the Edit scroll down here and now you can see the the template.
I’ve got my subject here, so if I want to make a change to the subject to change it there in the body of the email I have today’s date, I also have the person’s first name. I also have my company name embedded in the body of this paragraph, plus the my clients name, our company name and also embedded in there. I have a YouTube article and inserted in the body of this paragraph, and I also have my name: a company name, phone number, email address and website.
Now a couple rules of thumb or best practices when sending an email campaign is that you should always try to have links that go back to your website, whether it’s a article or whether it’s your just your website and that basically helps you draw drive traffic to Your website anyways um. If I want to make a change, I could do that’s. For example, let’s say I want to put their first name space last name: that’s a the last name is a contact field, so over here are all the fields under the contacts.
So if I want to get last name, I just click on this down arrow right here and scroll down to all the contact field names until I find last name which is right there and then all I have to do is copy it. Ctrl C and just paste it right over here, so I’ll put a blank in there ctrl V and it’s as simple as that. Let’s say I wanted to put a link to a white paper I have on my website. I could you know, describe the white paper in text and then I can highlight that and then use this link right here and then specify specify the the URL for that website.
Anyways, I’m going to cancel this changes here, because I just want to proceed with this. The template is the way it is right now, so I’m going to move on to the second step, which is to create the campaign to do the print campaign. I got to basically first of all make sure that I’m in the marketing application right now you can see I’m in the sales application. So if I click here, I can switch over to the marketing application and now I can see all my tabs for the marketing application and I want to click on the campaign’s tab and I want to create a new temp temp campaign.
So my campaign name I’m going to call it follow-up mass email for July, and I’m going to put today’s date July. The 27th meeting someone’s trying to get me on my cell phone I’m going to split the status as in progress. I’r going to put the start days today, the 27th of July, the end date being today, I’m going to make it active. If I want to describe what the purpose of this campaign is, I could put it in here.
I specify how many people I’m planning to send this to this particular email is going to follow up from a meeting, I’m ham and I’m sending it to 3 people. So I put the number 3 how many people do? I expect to get a response, I’m hoping that the 66 % or two of the three people, two of the three people will respond to this email and the expected revenue. Let’s say I got a contract for worth $ 2,500 in the budget.
That cost me $ 100 and then later on, when I get the actual cost for completing the campaign, I would put it in here and then this will allow me to do ROI analysis on this particular campaign, so that basically completes the step 2, which is to Create the campaign, the third step, as I specified over here, is to include who’s, who you want to be included in the campaign. There’s two ways of doing it.
You can do it through the reports or you can do it in the campaign in this article I’ll. Just focus on the campaign so the way I do that is, I click on the manage members button and I click on add members, and I want to switch over to contacts because the three people that I’m sending this email to our in my contacts, not in My leads now, if I click go, I’m just going to see all my contacts and then I’m going to have to scroll through them and find the person item kind of lazy about that.
So I’m going to use the filter specification on and I’m going to base it on the company name. So I’ll look for accountant named account name right: there equals two and the company I was going to send it to is clear and not going to click on goal, and it shows me three people that I want to send that that’s the three. So I want to select the individual, you can go like that or I can hit the top one and that will select all three and I’m going to.
Oh, that’s right, I’m going to add with status and say they’re sent. Basically, this is what this is doing. Is it’s specifying for those three people? It’s saying the status right now is I’ve sent them and the email and then, when they respond back to it, I would change the status from sent to response responded: okay, anyways that completed the third step, which is to create the three people in my campaign or Add three people to my campaign: now I’m going to go to the fourth step, which is to run the mass email campaign.
So to do that, I click on the Contacts tab and I scroll all the way to the bottom and I’ll see under tools. There’s a mass email contact program, so I’m going to run that and I’m going to see what it says right here. The view is the mass email by campaign. That’s the correct view. I want to run, but I want to edit it because I want to point it to the campaign I just created so click on edit and I’m going to change this to the click on this box right here and I’m going to choose this one right here.
But before that, it’s I do this I want to. I have a campaign called test mass email, which is a just a test campaign I set up, which has my email, so I’m going to test the test to make sure all the links are okay and I’m happy with it and then I’ll come back and I’ll Redo it with this campaign, so I’ll click on the test, mass email and I’m going to click on, save and then CSIS. I see the two people, which is my gmail account, plus my regular account I’m going to click on next.
I want to choose the version for article link, which I showed it the very first step, and then I got ta, give it a name. So I’m just going to call this the test, mass email, follow-up and then click on send and that’s it. So in a few seconds, I’ll probably get an email where I’ll show that, but in the meantime, I’m going to click on there. It is right there perfect. So if I click on that email, I can now test it to make sure it’s everything is ok.
So I can see it’s sent to from Kevin Caputo to my test. Gmail account the subjects. Okay, I’ve got my logo and the tops got today’s date. It’s got my first name. It has my company name right here. It has my clients name right. There account account name their company name there. It’s got the link to the YouTube, so I’ll click on that make sure that works. Okay, that works that works okay down at the bottom has got my name and all that information plus a link to my email address, plus my company websites.
So that looks good. So let me finish the step so I’ll click on the contacts again, just repeat the same steps in step: four go down to the bottom: click on the mass email, contacts and click on edit, and this time I will click on the July 27th campaign. Save that I see the three people good click on next click on the version. Four template click on give it a name: follow-up, mass email July, the 27th bla bla, bla click on send and that’s it.
I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions or if there’s any other articles, you would like me to do for you. Just let me know give me a call or send me an email thanks very much.
